THE VEHICLE, WHILE DRIVING, BEGAN TO HONK THE HORN, WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURNED ON, WIPER FLUID BEGAN SPRAYING, LIGHTS FLASHED. THIS CONTINUED FOR APPROXIMATELY FIVE STRAIGHT MINUTES. TURNING THE CAR OFF DID NOT STOP THE ACTIONS, NEITHER DID RESTARTING THE CAR. EVENTUALLY THE MALFUNCTION STOPPED ON IT'S OWN. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING THROUGH DODGE SERVICE AND WAS TOLD TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE NEEDED REPLACING BUT COULD NOT BE ORDERED. THEY STATED CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. THIS CONTINUED TO HAPPEN SPORADICALLY. AT ONE POINT, THE VEHICLE MALFUNCTIONED AND IN ADDITIONAL TO PREVIOUSLY LISTED PROBLEMS, THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES WHEN IT OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. WHEN WE WERE FINALLY ABLE TO ORDER THE PART, TWO MONTHS LATER, IT WAS REPLACED. AFTER THREE WEEKS WITH THE NEW TIPM, THE VEHICLE ONCE AGAIN, STARTED TO MALFUNCTION BY HORNS HONKING, WIPERS TURNING OFF, FLUID SPRAYING, LIGHTS FLASHING AND SO ON. I AM TOLD BY DODGE THAT I WILL NEED TO PAY FOR ANOTHER $100 DIAGNOSTIC TEST TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. THEY CONTINUE TO STATE THAT THE CAR IS SAFE TO DRIVE DESPITE INTERMITTENT AND UNEXPECTED LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. *TR

RECALL L25/NHTSA 14V-373 "FOBIK" BUTTON IGNITION KEY MAY NOT FULLY SEAT IN THE ON POSITION AND MAY MOVE TO THE ACCESSORY POSITION. RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE 9/15/14. CALLED CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX THIS ITEM. TOLD ME TO CALL THE MANUFACTURE. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND GOT A RECORDING SAYING THAT THEY KNOW OF THE PROBLEM AND ARE WORKING TO FIX THIS. IT IS NOW 6/4/15 AND STILL THE MANUFACTURE AND DEALER DO NOT HAVE THE FIX. WE USE THIS VEHICLE FOR OUR BUSINESS AND ARE NOT SURE WHAT TO DO. WE KNOW THERE IS A SAFETY PROBLEM, BUT WE ARE UNABLE TO FIX THIS BECAUSE THE MANUFACTURE HAS NOT RESOLVE THIS ISSUE.

THIS RELATES TO CHRYSLER SAFETY RECALL L25 FOR WIRELESS IGNITION NODE. OUR VAN SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT ANY WARNING AND THERE IS NO STEERING AND BRAKING. THIS IS THE PRIMARY VEHICLE WE CARRY 2 YOUNG CHILDREN IN AND IT IS EXTREMELY UPSETTING THAT THIS RECALL HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED. OUR VAN SHUT OFF 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS WHILE CARRYING OUR KIDS. THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP REPORTS THERE IS A NATIONAL BACK-ORDER AND NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE TO FIX IT. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO? THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AND TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! WELL MY VEHICLE SHUT DOWN, HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED(MURPHY FORD, 1130 TOWNSHIP LINE RD, CHESTER PA 19013) ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2014 AROUND 3PM. CALL FROM THEM SAYING IT WOULD HAVE TO BE TAKEN TO A DODGE DEALERSHIP(18014 US 202, GLEN MILLS PA 19342). CALL FROM THIS DEALERSHIP ON SEPTEMBER 9, 2014. THE PART NUMBER FOR REPAIRS TO MY VEHICLE IS 689241069AA. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. THIS PROBLEM CAUSED MY CAR NOT TO START AND IT LOCKED IN GEAR, LOCKED THE STEERING WHEEL, AND LOCKED ALL WINDOWS. *TR

MY 18YR SON WAS DRIVING THE VAN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (65 MPH) WHEN HE DESCRIBED A SUDDEN INABILITY TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. THE STEERING BECAME HARD TO CONTROL AND THE BRAKES HERE HARD TO PUSH. HE THOUGHT THE BRAKES HAD FAILED. DUE TO THE INABILITY TO CONTROL THE VAN HE DRIFTED INTO THE PASSING LANE WHERE A CAR TO THE REAR OF HIM STRUCK HIS REAR QUARTER PANEL, CAUSING HIS VAN TO SPIN OUT OF CONTROL. THE VEHICLE SPUN AND CAME TO REST IN THE MERIDIAN. THE POLICE REPORT STATED" NO EVIDENCE OF BRAKES LOCKING UP" AS THERE WAS NO SKID MARKS IN THE ROAD WAY UNTIL THE VEHICLE WAS LEAVING THE ROAD SIDEWAYS. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE INCLUDES SUBSTANTIAL FRONT, SIDE AND REAR PANEL DAMAGE THE FRONT AND REAR TIRES ARE OUT OF ALIGNMENT, EXHAUST PUSHED UP INTO REAR QUARTER PANEL AND THE FORCE CAUSED THE BATTERY TO SLIDE OUT OF PLACE. THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS WERE ALL ON TO INCLUDE THE AIR BAG LIGHT. WE CALLED CHRYSLER BECAUSE WE SAW THE RECALL ON LINE. MEANWHILE 5 DAYS AFTER THE ACCIDENT WE RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL STATING IT WAS FINE TO DRIVE THE CAN UNTIL THE RECALL WAS PERFORMED.THEY SENT AN INVESTIGATION TEAM TO EXAMINE THE VAN AND DETERMINED THE BRAKES WERE AT FAULT. HOWEVER THE BRAKES WERE NEW INCLUDING ROTORS 2 WEEKS PRIOR AND UPON HAVING MY OWN INSPECTION DONE THE BRAKES WERE FOUND IN WORKING ORDER, NO WARPED ROTORS OR BURNT PADS THAT WOULD SUGGEST A BRAKE LOCK UP AT 65MPH,TIRES(SNOW TIRES AS MY SON WAS HEADING TO COLLEGE IN NORTHERN MAINE ) ARE IN GOOD CONDITION WITH NO EVIDENCE OF FLAT AREAS (AS ONE MIGHT EXPECT WITH BRAKES LOCKING UP) WE HAD ENGINE DIAGNOSTICS CHECKED AND FOUND AN YAW WARNING AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT WITH NO OTHER ENGINE CODES NOTED. ALL ENGINE LIGHTS WERE LIT UP AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT MUCH LIKE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU SHUT THE IGNITION OFF WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION ONLY TO RESET UPON NORMAL RESTART. *TR

THERE IS A CURRENT RECALL ON OUR VEHICLE, THE L25 WIN MODULE DETENTION RING. THE VEHICLES KEY CAN MOVE INTO THE ACCESSORY MODE AND THE CAR SHUTS OFF, NO POWER STEERING, NO BOWER BRAKES, NO AIRBAG ETC. VEHICLE JUST ROLLS TO A STOP. THIS HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES WHILE MY WIFE IS DRIVING THE CAR WITH OUR 3 CHILDREN INSIDE. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR MY FAMILY AND OTHERS ON THE ROADWAY.
