VALVE STEM BROKE WHEN REMOVING CAP TO CHECK PRESSURE
THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER HAS FAILED. I WAS WONDERING, EVEN THOUGH MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL WOULD I STILL BE ELIGIBLE TO GET THIS REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL?
THIS IS THE 2ND OF OUR 2009 GRAND CARAVANS WITH THE SAME FAILURE IN THE EXACT SAME LOCATION. PASS SIDE STRUT SPRING BROKE OFF AT THE UPPER END ABOUT 2-3 INCHES OFF THE TIP. VERY HARD TO SPOT SO LOOK CLOSELY. 1ST ONE WAS CAUGHT ON A STATE INSPECTION AND THIS ONE WAS CAUGHT DURING ROUTINE PM. IS THIS A COMMON PROBLEM?
IT SAID THAT MY GRAND CARAVAN DID NOT HAVE AN OPEN RECALL FOR THE KEY & IGNITION CYLINDER, AND THE VEHICLE KEEPS TELLING US THAT I HAVE A BAD KEY AND THE VEHICLE WONT START AT TIMES CAN YOU CHECK INTO THIS
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD ON A SHALLOW LEFT-HAND CURVE WHEN I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT, COMING OUT OF THE CURVE, ALL THE SUDDEN THE LEFT FRONT BRAKE (LFB) BEGAN TO CHATTER AS THOUGH THE LFB ABS WAS ENGAGING. THE ESP BAS AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON. THE VAN VIOLENTLY SWERVED TOWARDS THE ONCOMING LANE. LUCKLY, THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC COME AT ME. I WAS ABLE TO OVER CORRECT WITH THE STEERING AND REGAIN CONTROL. I TOOK THE VAN TO A LOCAL SHOP WHICH DIAGNOSED THE STEERING POSITION SENSOR INSIDE THE AIR BAG CLOCKSPRING TO BE BAD. IT WAS REPLACED AND THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY. I FEEL THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED WITH A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED!
- ON 12/01/2017 THE AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD IS LIT. I NOTICED THE AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT WHEN I TURNED THE CAR ON. - ON 12/28/2017 THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW STOPPED WORKING. IT STOPPED WORKING WHEN I TURNED THE CAR ON AND ATTEMPTED TO PUT THE WINDOW DOWN.
PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR ELECTRICAL HARNESS APPEARS TO HAVE SHORTED AND MELTED THE INTERIOR. SIMILAR TO 10V235000 RECALL. THIS VIN IS NOT COVERED BY THAT RECALL BUT IS FROM THE SAME YEAR. POSSIBLE CATASTROPHIC FIRE COULD RESULT IF PLASTIC REACHED SPECIFIC TEMPERATURE TO ALIGHT. BURNING PLASTIC SMELL WAS NOTED DURING 4 HOUR DRIVE. HEADACHE AND MILD NAUSEA RESULTED FROM THE SMELL. SMELL REMINDED OWNER OF BURNED WIRING IN THE LAB.
VEHICLE STALLED ON TOLL ROAD AND BYPASS. IT FINALLY DIED AND I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED. FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED TWICE. FIRST TIME WAS $600.00. SECOND TIME, MECHANIC DID IT FOR FREE. MECHANIC BELIEVES THAT IT'S THE TIPM OR TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE.
TRANSMISSION GAVE OUT WHILE DRIVING GEARS WIT SHIFT LOST EMISSIONS.
THE BLACK CASING AROUND THE WIRING IN THE SLIDING DOORS BROKE OFF LEAVING EXPOSED WIRING
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT WARNING VAN STOPS NO POWER STEERING, NO BRAKES ENGINE STOPS ALL POWER IS LOST. THE ONLY CODE THAT APPEARS IS TRACTION CONTROL.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (JD BYRIDER DODGE, DORCHESTER, MA), BUT NO FAILURES WERE FOUND AFTER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, AIR BAGS). THE RECALL WAS REMEDIED ONE YEAR AGO. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.

I HAD BEEN LAUGHING WITH THE PEOPLE OF THIS SCHOOL BUS COMPANY WHICH IS CLOSE BY TO ME NAMED LORINDA BUS OR LOGAN BUS CO INC THERE AT 100 ST AND ATLANTIC AV THERE ABOUT HOW THEY EXTENDED THEIR PARKING LOT UPWARD THERE ONTO AN OLD LIRR TRACK THERE THAT HAS NOT BEEN USED AND IS ALL RUSTY WITH BROKEN CEMENT AND LIKE OTHER BROKEN AND OLD THINGS THERE AND THEY EXTENDED THE PARKING LOT FOR THEIR BUSES THERE AT 100 ST AND ATLANTIC AV THERE UPWARD TO LIKE THE TOP OF THIS LIRR TRACK THERE WHICH I FOUND TO BE AN ODD LOCATION. I MEAN SOME QUESTIONS WERE IN MY MIND LIKE COULD THE 14 BUSES OR 18 BUSES THAT THEY PUT UP THERE ON THE OLD LIRR TRACK THERE STAY UP THERE WITH ALL OF THE HUGE BUSES PARKED UP THERE ON THE TRACK THERE. NO, THE LIRR TRACK THERE IS NOT USED ANYMORE THERE BEGINNING SOUTH FROM LIKE 99 ST AND LIBERTY AVENUE THERE AND THE OLD LIRR TRACK IS MAINTAINED BY NYC DCAS OR THE MAYOR'S OFFICE THERE. LOTS OF RUSTY AND OLD AND FALLING APART THINGS THERE ON THAT RAILROAD TRACK THERE OF THE LIRR THERE. BUT WITH THE OLD LIRR TRACK THERE AT ATLANTIC AV AND 100 ST SHOULD THEY USE THAT AREA UP THERE, AS I SAW ON A GOOGLE MAP THERE TO PARK 14-18 OF THEIR BUSES. YES, THE GOOGLE MAP SHOWED THEM EXTENDING THEIR PARKING LOT TO THE TOP OF THE LIRR TRACKS THERE AND THEY COULD PARK MORE BUSES AS SHOWN ON THE GOOGLE MAP THERE. DO YOU THINK IT IS SAFE OF LORINDA OR LOGAN THERE TO PUT LIKE THOSE BUSES PARKED UP THERE ALL 14-18 OF THEM UP THERE ON THE OLD LIRR TRACK UP THERE TO BE PARKED OR NO? THE OLD LIRR TRACKS ARE REALLY FALLING APART, TALKING ABOUT THE RUST AND ALL OF THAT. USE GOOGLE STREET VIEW AND YOU CAN SEE THE RUST IN SOME PARTS OF THOSE BRIDGES THERE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
THE CAR WON'T CRANK ON THE FIRST TRY, BUT AFTER 2 OR 3 MORE TIMES IT WILL CRANK. NOW THERE IS A SMELL OF FUEL IN THE GARAGE AFTER THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER RUNNING. AFTER 15 MIN. TRIED TO CRANK THE CAR AGAIN AND IT WON'T CRANK. THE STARTER, ALTERNATOR, AND BATTERY BOTH CHECK OUT TO BE GREAT. ALSO NOTICE THAT THE WINDOW WIPERS WIPE SLOW OR DON'T WIPE AT ALL WHEN FOB IS SET TO THE ON POSITION.
BROUGHT NEW IN 09, FRONT ROTORS CUT DUE TO SEVERE VIBRATIONS..WAS TOLD I WAS NOT DRIVING ENOUGH (NEVER HEARD THAT BEFORE)1,700 MILES., BAD VIBRATION AGAIN IN FRONT ..ROTORS CUT FRONT AND REAR. TOOK CAR TO DEALER FOR OIL CHANGE AND WAS TOLD FRONT BRAKES AND REAR BRAKES AS WELL AS ROTORS NEEDED REPLACING 12852 MILES, TOLD BY DEALER THIS IS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR!!!. I STARTED DOING MY OWN BRAKES AS I COULD NOT AFFORD THE DEALER ANYMORE AND THEY REFUSE TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. I HAVE BEEN CHANGING THE BRAKES EVERY OTHER OIL CHANGE, THIS IS CRAZY. I HAVE OWNED NUMEROUS CARS OVER THE YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD TO DO THIS. I FINALLY TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AS THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE CALIPER WAS BURNING UP AND WAS TOLD TO MY SURPRISE THEY SAID THE FRONT CALIPERS WERE SEIZED, THEY SAID THE FRONT CONTROLS THE REAR. THEY CHANGED THEM AND I PUT NEW ROTORS AND BRAKES ALL AROUND. REAR DRIVERS SIDE BURNING UP HOT AND BRAKES ALMOST TO METAL, TOOK TO DEALER AGAIN AND WAS TOLD REAR CALIPERS NEEDED REPLACING. THEY CHANGED BOTH REAR CALIPERS AND I HAD THE REAR BRAKES REPLACE AGAIN. REAR DRIVERS SIDE CALIPER STARTED STICKING AGAIN BURNING HOT AND BRAKES WORN ALMOST TO METAL AGAIN, THEY REPLACED AND I WENT ONLINE AND FOUND MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM 08-12 CARAVAN AND NONE OF THEM GOT ANY SATISFACTION FROM THE DEALER OR DODGE. I TOLD THE TECH ABOUT THE COMPLAINTS AND ALL HE COULD SAY IS "IF ITS BROKEN WE WILL FIX, AND THATS ALL HE CAN DO" WITH NO FURTHER EXPLANATION. I REALLY DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE VAN HAS 62,000 MILES AND I REALLY DON'T WANT MY WIFE DRIVING THIS VAN ANYMORE WITH THE KIDS, I FEEL IT'S SO UNSAFE AND HAS BEEN A MONEY PIT.

INSTRUMENTAL PANEL DASH LIGHTS COME ON AND STAY ON WHILE DRIVING. DO NOT KNOW HOW FAST WE ARE GOING OR HOW MUCH GAS. ALL LIGHTS INCLUDING ABS AS WELL. SEVERAL OTHER FAMILIES IN MY AREA HAVE SAME VAN WITH SAME PROBLEM. WIPERS ALSO COME ON WHEN THEY ARE OFF. THE CHRYLSER TOWN & COUNTRY HAS HAD INSTRUMENTAL PANEL PROBLEMS THAT WERE PART OF A RECALL AS WELL
K31 NOTIFICATION. WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE TO VISIT FAMILY OUT OF STATE, MY AC BLOWER MOTOR STOPPED WORKING AND MY FLOOR ON THE FRONT PASSENGER AND DRIVER AREAS BECAME VERY SATURATED. I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP AND THEY STATED THAT THE AC DRAIN TUBE SHOULD BE PART OF THE K31 RECALL NOTIFICATION DUE TO MY VEHICLE BEING A 2009 GRAND CARAVAN. THE DRAIN TUBE WAS RUBBER AND THE REPLACEMENT PART IS SUPPOSED TO BE HARD PLASTIC. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE AND THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE THE VAN WAS MANUFACTURED 2 MONTHS AFTER THE NOTIFICATION CUT OFF. I STATED THAT A MECHANIC VERIFIED THAT ON WWW.ALLDATAPRO.COM AND THE PART WAS INCORRECT ON MY VAN.. DUE TO THE DRAIN TUBE GETTING CLOGGED, IT CAUSED NOT ONLY THE CABIN FLOORS TO BECOME SATURATED BUT ALSO THE BLOWER MOTOR TO BECOME INOPERABLE AND NEEDING REPLACEMENT. CHRYSLER CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE THEN STATED THAT I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE MY VAN TO A CERTIFIED DEALERSHIP (AT MY OWN COST) AND HAVE THE PART VERIFIED. THE CHRYSLER DEALER I CONTACTED TOLD ME IT WILL COST $125 FOR THEM TO SIMPLY VERIFY THAT THE PART WAS INCORRECT. SO NOT ONLY DID I PAY THE AUTO REPAIR SHOP $37 BUT ALSO HAVE ACCRUED AT LEAST $125 MORE AND THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT ANYTHING WILL BE REPAIRED. I FEEL THAT A MISTAKE DURING MANUFACTURING AND 2 MONTHS SHOULD BAR MY VAN FROM THE K31 NOTIFICATION REPAIR.
WE RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE REGUARDING THE WIRELESS IGNITION NODE ON OUR VEHICLE. AS THE NOTICE INSTRUCTED I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP UPON RECEIVING THE NOTICE. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD US THEY WOULD LET US KNOW WHEN THEY GOT THE PART TO REPLACE IT. IT HAS NOW BEEN OVER A YEAR AND THE DEALERSHIP STILL DOES NOT HAVE THE PART THEY NEED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY SAY THEY ARE WAITING FOR THE CAR MANUFACTURER TO SEND THE PART.

CAN REPEAT DIFFERENT FREQUENCY TIME, BUT USUALLY EVERY FEW SECONDS. SOME WARNING LIGHTS REMAIN ON, ESPECIALLY BRAKE WARNINGS AND AIRBAG. 2 DEALERS REVIEWED AND RECOGNIZED ISSUE BUT STATED DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO. RARELY, AFTER START-UP ONLY BRAKE LIGHT AND AIRBAG WARNINGS STAY ON AND NO OTHER LIGHT ISSUE. FIRST DEALER REPLACED INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND IMPROVED BY NO LEFT DIAL ISSUE, BUT WARNING LIGHTS STILL OCCUR. ALL WARNING LIGHTS, CENTER DIAL, AND RIGHT DIAL, LIGHTS, AND WIPER ISSUES STILL OCCUR. AIRBAG, BRAKE, FUEL LIGHTS, WIPERS, AND OUTSIDE LIGHTS WORRY ME SINCE EVERYTHING SHOWS WARNING OR STOPS WHILE DRIVING, AS FREQUENT AS EVERY FEW SECONDS DURING ENTIRE DRIVE. IS ONE OF THE ISSUES REAL OR ARE THEY ALL PRETEND DUE TO THE VEHICLE ISSUE? OCCURS ALL SPEEDS, TEMPERATURES, AND SO ON.
RETURNING HOME FROM VACATION WHILE EXITING INTERSTATE TO MERGE WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC AT APPROX 60/65 MPH I TAPPED THE BRAKE TO DISENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL AND THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE RAPIDLY. I APPLIED THE BRAKES WITH ALL MY FORCE BUT IT CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD PUT IT INTO PARK AND SHUT THE ENGINE OFF., IN A FEW MINUTES I RESTARTED THE MOTOR AND THE CAR SEEMED OK. WE DROVE A SHORT WAY AND STOPPED AT A HOTEL FOR THE NIGHT. THE NEXT MORNING AS WE STARTED HOME THE VENTS SUDDENLY BEGAN TO BLOW OUT VERY HOT AIR . NEITHER THE HEAT, AIR OR FANS WERE ON. AFTER PUSHING THE HVAC BUTTONS NO NE OF WHICH WERE LIGHTED THE AIR SUDDENLY STOPPED. I TURNED THE AIR BACK ON IN A FEW MINUTES AND EVERYTHING WORKED. WE DROVE TO OUR DEALER HENDERSONVILLE CDRJ AND GOT AN APPT FOR THIS FRI MORNING. THE MAN DIDN'T SEEM TO HAVE ANY IDEA OF THE PROBLEM. ON OUR WAY HOME THE HORN STARTED TO BEEP INTERMITTENTLY FOR A FEW SECONDS AT A TIME. WE HAVE NOT DRIVEN SINCE THEN AND WILL NOT UNTIL WE TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER ON FRIDAY.XWE ARE A RETIRED SENIOR COUPLE, MY HUSBAND IS DISABLED AND THIS VAN IS OUR ONLY VEHICLE AND IT IS FRIGHTENING TO HAVE BEEN PLACED IN SUCH A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. HOPEFULLY THE DEALER WILL BE ABLE TO IDENTIFY AND CORRECT THIS PROBLEM.

WHILE DRIVING THE WIPERS, HEADLIGHTS, AND DASHBOARD STARTED OPERATING CRAZY. IT WOULD OCCUR EVERY 30 SECONDS AND WOULD NOT STOP. THE ONLY SOLUTION (TEMPORARY) WAS TO REMOVE THE FUSE ASSOCIATED WITH THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. THIS CAUSED THE CRAZINESS TO STOP, BUT NOW I LOST ALL ABILITY TO OPERATE ANY FUNCTIONS ON THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. THE FUSE WAS TESTED AND IT IS WORKING JUST FINE. WHILE THIS WAS NOT AN IMMEDIATE DANGER, IT WAS STILL SCARY HAVING THIS HAPPEN TO ME WHILE DRIVING WITH MY YOUNG CHILDREN IN THE CAR. WE ARE UNABLE TO DISCOVER A PERMANENT SOLUTION. MY VAN WAS BOUGHT NEW BY ME AND HAS AROUND 51,111 MILES ON IT. ABOUT A MONTH AGO TRANSMISSION STARTED LEAKING OUT OF IT. THE TRANSMISSION IS COMPLETELY SEALED, NO WAY TO CHECK IT'S LEVEL OR CHANGE TRANSMISSION FLUID. THE OLD 1/4 INCH TUBE THAT USUALLY WOULD HOLD THE DIP STICK IS MUCH SHORTER (ABOUT A FOOT) THAN A NORMAL TRANSMISSION DIP STICK. IT TOOK ME AWHILE TO FIND IT. IT IS ONE OF TWO TRANSMISSION LINES GOING FROM THE TRANSMISSION AND GOING TO THE RADIATOR AND THE LEAK IS IN THE BACK OF THE ENGINE WHERE YOU CAN'T GET TO IT WITHOUT DROPPING THE TRANSMISSION... DODGE HAS A 100,000 WARRANTY ON THE TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE BUT THIS LINE IS OUTSIDE THE TRANSMISSION SO THEY CLAIM IT'S NOT PART OF THEIR WARRANTY... REGARDLESS THE TUBING THEY USE HAS TO BE DEFECTIVE BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE HAVE DRIVEN 100,000'S MILES WITHOUT HAVING THIS NON-MOVING PART TO FAIL. I HAVE THEIR EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT THEY CLAIM IT'S NOT COVERED. SO HOW DOES IT GET REPORTED. I HAD TO PAY OVER $500 FOR THE WIRING HARNESS IN MY AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOORS THAT OBVIOUSLY THE LOWER ARM ON THE DOOR KEPT RUBBING AND RUBBING UNTIL IT FRAYED THE PLASTIC COVERING CAUSING MY WIRING HARNESS TO BREAK BUT WHEN I BOUGHT IT IN THEIR WAS NO RECALL YET SO I HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR MYSELF AND THEN AROUND 6 MONTHS LATER I HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR WHICH I HAVEN'T GOT I.

RECENTLY I RECEIVED A SECOND AND CALLED THE DEALER WHO INFORMED ME THAT FIAT CHRYSLER IS ONLY TRICKELING PARTS TO THEM AND SUGGESTED I CALL FCA DIRECTLY. I DID THAT AND LEARNED THAT THE CONSUMER REPS HAVE NO IDEA WHEN PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. MY DEALER IS FOSTER DOGE IN MIDDLEBURY, VERMONT.
