IN FEBRUARY 2015 WE WERE DRIVING OUR GRAND CARAVAN MINIVAN WHEN IT SUDDENLY SHUT OFF AND STALLED, THIS OCCURRED FOUR TIMES IN TWO DAYS. WE TOOK THE CAR IN TO LOCAL DEALER . WE HAVE AN IGNITION KEY RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE .WE WERE INFORMED BY DEALER THAT DODGE IS CHOOSING NOT TO REPAIR THIS MODEL YEAR AND WE WOULD MORE THAN LIKELY HAVE TO FIGHT IT OUT WITH DODGE. THE DEALER WITHIN 24 HRS SAID THEY WOULD FIX THE VAN FOR US GAVE US NEW KEYS AND THE PART WAS TAKEN CARE OF.ON MARCH 25 201 I HAD YET ANOTHER OCCURRENCE OF STALING VEHICLE, CONTACTED DODGE .DODGE INFORMED ME THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE A DESIGNED NEW IGNITION PART FOR MY CAR THAT THE FIX THAT THE DEALER MADE WAS TEMPORARY ,WHICH WE WERE NEVER MADE AWARE OF, WE HAVE RECEIVED CONFLICTING INFORMATION FROM BOTH THE DEALER AS WELL AS DODGE. HOW LONG MUST I DRIVE A VEHICLE WHICH IS STALLING OUT WITH MY FAMILY IN IT. WHY IS IT THE WELL FAIR OF MY FAMILY HAS NO VALUE AND DODGE CAN DRAG THEIR FEET COMING UP WITH A PROPER DESIGN AFTER THREE YEARS KNOWING ABOUT A DESIGN FAILURE. *TR
DASH LIGHTS INDICATING FAILURE OF STABILITY CONTROL AND BRAKE FORCE HELP HAVE ILLUMINATED AND WON'T RESET. MECHANIC STATES VEHICLE REQUIRES STEERING ANGLE SENSOR. GETTING PART FOR REPAIR SEEMS TO BE DIFFICULT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE IN MY AREA AS ROADS ARE HEAVILY COVERED IN SNOW AND ICE FOR MONTHS AT A TIME.
THE DATE ABOVE IS NOT REAL. I DON'T KNOW THE DATES FOR THESE INCIDENTS. I AM WAITING SINCE SEPT FOR A REPAIR ON THIS RECALL AND MY NOTICE SAYS I HAVE A RIGHT TO HAVE IT CORRECTED QUICKLY AND AT NO COST. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS IN THE PAST BUT NO THE ONE DESCRIBED. DO SEEM RELATED TO KEY NOT BEING SEATED CORRECTLY. AFTER PARKING, IT IS IN REVERSE WHEN I RETURN TO VEHICLE (HAPPENED A FEW TIMES.) THE KEY IS DIFFICULT TO REMOVE (OFTEN). A FEW TIMES I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND REMOVED THE KEY AND GOT OUT AND MY RADIO AND WIPERS CONTINUED TO RUN UNTIL I PUT THE KEY BACK AND JIGGLED IT A FEW TIMES TO GET ALL TO TURN OFF. *TR

I BOUGHT MY DODGE GRAND CARAVAN ON 09/09/2009. MY COMPLAINT IS WITH THE KEY FOB. I WAS USING MY FIRST KEY FOB & THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. I KEPT TRYING & EVENTUALLY IT DID START. WITH YEARS OF USE THIS PLASTIC FOB HAS BECOME OUT OF SHAPE WITH TAPE ON IT. WHEN I DROVE HOME IT STOPPED WHILE ON THE ROAD HOME. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OVER. MY WIFE BROUGHT ME THE SPARE KEY FOB. THIS HAS WORKED FOR A WHILE & NOW IT IS ACTING UP. I WENT TO MY LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP & THEY WANT OVER $400 FOR TWO KEY FOBS INCLUDING REPROGRAMMING THEM. WHEN I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE DODGE NEVER TOLD ME THAT THE KEY FOBS WOULD ONLY LAST FOR ABOUT 4 YEARS. I HAVE OTHER VEHICLES WITH REGULAR OLD FASHIONED KEYS & THEY STILL WORK PROPERLY EVEN AFTER 11 YEARS. THUS I NEED DODGE TO REPLACE THESE KEY FOBS OR REPURCHASE MY VEHICLE. IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE WHEN IT COULD STOP AT ANY MOMENT.
I CURRENTLY AM BUYING A 2009 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN IS PART OF THE RECALL FOR FAULTY IGNITION MODULE. THIS HAS CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO SPORADICALLY NOT START, EVEN AFTER A COMPLETE DAY OF DRIVING. THIS ISSUE STARTED SHORTLY AFTER I PURCHASED THE VAN ALMOST 2 YEAS AGO. I WAS TOLD MY KEY NEEDED REPROGRAMMED, PAID TO HAVE IT DONE AND THIS HAS OBVIOUSLY NOT FIXED THE ISSUE , AS IT CONTINUES TO PROGRESSIVELY WORSEN. THE VEHICLE IS NOW SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING AND WILL NOT RESTART. I HAVE SPOKE WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY BOTH SAY THAT I HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE IT EVEN DIAGNOSED BECAUSE THEY DO NOT THINK THAT THE RECALL IS THE ISSUE. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT EVEN IF IT IS THE RECALLED PART THERE IS NO FIX AVAILABLE FOR THE 2009 AS OF YET. I FEAR THE VEHICLE WILL NOT BE FUNCTIONAL MUCH LONGER AS THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO OCCUR ON NOW A DAILY BASIS. THE DEALER INSISTS IT IS SOMETHING ELSE ANY OTHER TIME I HAVE HAD THE PROBLEM AND JUST TRIES TO JUST SELL ME ANOTHER PART THAT WILL NOT FIX IT. I HAVE BEEN HAVING AN ISSUE WITH MY 2009 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN WHEREIN MY "ANTI-SKID" SYSTEM IS SOMEHOW ACTIVATED AND KILLS MY ENGINE AND TIGHTENS UP MY STEERING WHILE I AM DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.
