While driving and stopped at a stop light the vehicle starting shaking and would no longer engage in drive. No previous warning signs or issues with vehicle slipping gears. Stuck in the middle of street with 4 children. Diagnosed with faulty hydraulic pressure pump and transmission current recall s44 on same issue for same make, model, year and manufacturing date.
The passenger driver-side slide door is permanently lock and will not unlock. Door will not slide open at all. I believe the manufacture door lock actuator is the problem. The vehicle's ODM only have 36,000 miles on the it. Since the door can't be open, it is a safety issue for any passengers riding in the car. Safety issues that will put my two kids at risk since the passenger door can't be open when there is an emergency to exit the car. My two kids are the passengers in the van. As of now, I don't have the money necessary to take it to a mechanic to fix it. However, I search on the internet and found out a lot of other car owners with the same model Dodge Caravan are having the same issues with door being lock permanently. The problem just occurred without any warning. It happen about 2 months ago without any warning and the slide door will not slide open again. Please help us get the manufacturer to fix this problem. I WAS DRIVING UP A HILL ON A BRIDGE AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I LOSS POWER TO MY WHEELS OF THE VAN. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BY 3 DIFFERENT CARS BECAUSE I COULD NOT DRIVE ANY FURTHER. I WAS LEFT STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BRIDGE. I GOT THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A MECHANIC AND THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT THE TRANSMISSION PUMP INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION HAD GONE OUT. I WAS TOLD THAT MY EXACT YEAR AND VEHICLE FIT A TRANSMISSION PUMP RECALL FOR THE EXACT ISSUE. AFTER CALLING CHRYSLER'S RECALL HOTLINE, THEY DID A SEARCH OF MY VIN AND SAD THAT MY VIN NUMBER DID NOT MATCH FOR A TRANSMISSION RECALL. AND THEY TOLD ME THERE'S NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT. AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE I HAVE FOUND THAT THE 2015 DODGE CARAVAN DID HAVE RECALLS FOR THE TRANSMISSION PUMP IN 2016.THE RECALL CENTRE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS VIN NUMBER SPECIFIC ON THE RECALL AND THAT MINE WAS NOT GOING TO BE COVERED.
FRONT PASSENGER ACTIVE HEADREST SYSTEM DEPLOYED WITH NO EXPLANATION. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN NORMALLY IN A PARKING LOT AND THE HEADREST JUST WENT OFF.
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND IT STARTED REVING THE RPMS, MAKING A HUMMING NOISE , AND WOULDN'T MOVE.. TRANSMISSION LIGHT ON
WHILE DRIVING MY VAN, THE RPM'S WOULD INCREASE, BUT THERE WAS NO POWER COMING FROM THE ENGINE. I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE. I PULLED OVER, TRIED TO PUT THE VAN IN PARK, THE ENGINE SHIFTED EXTREMELY ROUGH BEFORE GOING INTO PARK. THE AUTO BODY SHOP IS QUOTING ME FOR OVER $5,000.00 TO REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION.
The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, there was a loud abnormal sound coming from the engine compartment. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed however, nothing needed to be replaced. The contact wanted a second opinion so she took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with the transmission pump6V461 needing to be replaced. The contact then took the vehicle back to the dealer where they also confirmed that the transmission pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was relating the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 1000 (Power Train). The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 60,942.

My van was parked in my driveway overnight and both of the headrests deployed. I am grateful I was not driving it. I couldn’t get them to close they are stuck open. When called dealer was told was not covered even though I have Mopar coverage. Since it’s so much to fix it out of pocket the safety feature is virtually useless because I can’t have it fixed.
I purchased a CPO 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan in February 2020 at around 18,000 miles (CPO warranty up 3-11-22). 18 months later I had to have transmission work done because it was having major issues (they repaired adapter housing and trans cooler line/hoses). 3 months after that I had more transmission work done because the same problems reappeared (they worked on trans pan leak and trans filter change). At this appointment, we asked the dealer that if anything else happens to the transmission around the date of the CPO warranty would a new trans be covered and they said of course. Well 8 days after the warranty expired (3-19-22), the car had to be towed Fieldhouse CDJR because the transmission was shot. A new transmission was put after sitting at the dealership for three months and they said that the trans wasn't under warranty and was $4500. I had to open a case with fca (82695547) in order for them to even start work on the van because they didn't touch it until I got in touch with fca. I was told I would pay $1800 and you would pay $2700. Well the dealership charged me $2700 also so they got $5600 total for that $4500 job. I received a check of the difference from fca and that issue was solved. However, the transmission AGAIN failed 4 months later in October 2022. I took it back to the same dealership because I thought that's where I had to take it because they just did the install. It sat there for 5 months (2-17-2023) until I opened ANOTHER case with fca (85204403) and they replaced the transmission again. It was warrantied until February 17, 2025. The transmission was fine until march 10 2025. Less than three weeks after this warranty expired I lost my transmission AGAIN. Fca says I have to now pay for diagnosis and purchase extended warranty to get any discounted work even though I’ve had 3 faulty transmissions and now have to purchase a 4th that will also probably only make it to JUST past the parts warranty.
I WAS SITTING IN MY PARKED CAR, ENGINE OFF, WAITING FOR SOMEONE. THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADREST POPPED OPEN SUDDENLY. I CANNOT PUT IT BACK IN POSITION BECAUSE THE PLASTIC TABS INSIDE ARE BROKEN. I AM THANKFUL I WAS LEANING FORWARD READING A BOOK AND THAT I WAS NOT DRIVING AS THIS COULD HAVE BEEN PAINFUL AND/OR DANGEROUS.
THE TRANSMISSION JUST DIED COMING DOWN A HILL AT A SLOW SPEED NEAR MY HOME ON A CITY STREET. NO PREVIOUS NOISE OR WARNING. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON. I HAVE 140,000 MILES. VAN IS WELL MAINTAINED. TOOK TO A LOCAL MECHANIC. FOUND METAL IN THE PAN.
CAR PURCHASED BRAND NEW MARCH 2015. FEBRUARY 2021 AT APPROXIMATELY 93,000 MILES EXTENSIVE OIL LEAKING DAMAGE. CAR IS LEAKING OIL FROM THE OIL FILTER HOUSING UNIT INCLUDING THE GASKETS AROUND. AT THIS POINT, THE CORRECT PART IS ON BACK ORDER FROM CHRYSLER, PER THE DEALER WHERE PURCHASED THE CAR, I AM NUMBER 28,000 PLUS IN THE LINE TO RECEIVE THIS PART. THERE IS NO ETA FOR WHEN THE PART WILL BE AVAILABLE. THE VAN LEAKS WHEN PARKED AND IN DRIVE. I GOT AN OIL CHANGE END OF DECEMBER 2020 AND WAS DOWN TO TWO QUARTS OF OIL IN A MONTH TIME AND 1000 MILES SINCE OIL CHANGE. THE CAR IS NOW UN DRIVEABLE AND CHRYSLER IS DOING NOTHING TO ASSIST WITH GETTING A LOANER VEHICLE.

THERE WAS NO INJURY SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 48,788.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE SCREW ON OIL FILTER ADAPTER HAD FAILED CAUSING OIL TO LEAK FROM THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER JAMES DODGE LOCATED AT 13007 WICKER AVE, CEDAR LAKE, IN 46303 AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
DRIVERS SIDE HEADREST POPPED OUT. SEPARATELY, VAN STARTED SHAKING AT 1500 RPMS. NEEDED $550 WORTH OF REPAIRS TO THE #3 FUEL INJECTOR
PASSENGER SIDE FRONT HEADREST IS POPPED OUT. NOT EXACTLY SURE WHEN IT HAPPENED, BECAUSE I DIDN'T NOTICE UNTIL SOMEONE SAT IN THE SEAT AND COMPLAINED HOW UNCOMFORTABLE IT WAS FOR THEIR HEAD. IT HAD TO HAVE HAPPENED SOMETIME BETWEEN 12/1/20 AND 12/4/20.
BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON AND OFF BY THEM SELVES MECHANIC SWITCHED THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AND STILL HAVE ISSUES.
THE PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR IS STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION OUT OF NOWHERE. IT CANNOT BE UNLOCKED WITH THE BUTTONS ON THE DOOR, MANUALLY, OR WITH THE KEY FOB. IT WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY OVERNIGHT, THE NEXT MORNING I WENT TO LOAD UP MY KIDS, AND IT WOULDN'T WORK.
TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WHEN SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT ON AN INCLINE AND ALMOST ROLLED BACK INTO THE CAR BEHIND. THE TRANSMISSION PUMP FAILED AND RUINED TRANSMISSION AT 5 YEARS AND 2 MONTHS AND ONLY 81970 MILES.
WHILE DRIVING TO HIGHWAY THE RPM WAS GOING TO HIRE AN ENGINE START MAKING WHINING SOUND AND IN THE CITY WHILE REACHING TO MECHANIC AT THE INTERSECTION IT WAS GIVING HUGE JERK AND SOMETIMES GET DOESN'T SHIFT AT ALL THE CARS STAND STILL AT INTERSECTIONS I HAVE TO TURN OFF THE CAR AND TURN IT BACK ON IN ORDER TO MOVE WHICH WAS VERY DANGEROUSAFTER CONSULT TO A MECHANIC HE SAYS OIL PUMP IS GONE FOR THE TRANSMISSION DODGE CARAVAN IS A FAMILY CAR I GOT FOUR KIDS AND IT'S VERY DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD I HAVE SEEN A LOT OF FORMS IN WHICH PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS ISSUE KINDLY ASSIST IN THIS REGARDS

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THEIR WIFE WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE WENT THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION STARTED CATCHING DESPITE THE DRIVER'S FOOT BEING ON THE BRAKES. THE DRIVER HAD TO PULL OFF TO A NEARBY PARKING LOT AND TURN THE VEHICLE OFF TO AVOID HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE LEFT THE VEHICLE PARKED FOR A FEW DAYS BEFORE DRIVING IT TO A NEARBY DEALER (CUMBERLAND CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM 1550 INTERSTATE DR, COOKEVILLE, TN 38501; (931) 263-0321) WHO STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION PUMP AND TRANSMISSION GEARS 4, 4, AND 6, AS WELL AS, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TO FIND A GEAR AFTER FIRST GEAR. THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION AND COOLANT PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CONTACT MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND CONFIRMED THAT THEIR VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V461000 (POWER TRAIN) AND REFERRED THEM TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY FRONT DRIVER SEAT HEADREST DEPLOYED FOR NO APPARENT REASON.
THE TRANSMISSION OF THE DODGE GRAND CARAVAN 2015. I CHECKED THE RECALL AND THE MANUFACTURER ONLY RECALLS THE ONES PRODUCED FROM 08/2015 TO 2016. MY CAR WAS PRODUCED IN 02/0215 SO IT WAS NOT RECALLED. THE TRANSMISSION KEPT GETTING PROBLEM WITH THE GEAR AND SHIFT. IT ALSO GAVE A CODE FOR P0740 TCC WHILE IT IS JUST 80,000+ MILES. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING IT FOR 4 MONTHS AND THE CAR HEATED UP PRETTY BAD WITH BAD SMELL AND SHAKING WHEN SPEEDING UP. I TOOK IT TO A SHOP AND THEY SAID DODGE HAS PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION PUMP THAT FEEDS THE TORQUE CONVERTER, AND ALSO CAUSE FAIL HYDRAULIC PRESSURE. THIS COULD BE THE REASON FOR THE DAMAGE OF MY TORQUE CONVERTER. I DON'T KNOW WHERE AND HOW I SHOULD REPORT THIS TO GET IT FIXED BECAUSE IT MAKES NO SENSE TO ME WITH W VEHICLE JUST TURNED 80,000 MILES AND HAS A FAILED TRANSMISSION AND CAUSES SHAKING MOVEMENT WHEN SPEEDING UP WHICH COULD BE DANGEROUS WHEN I DRIVE ON A HIGHWAY. PLEASE CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER TO DISCUSS FOR RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES AS WELL ON TRANSMISSION. THEY ONLY DO THE ONES PRODUCED AFTER AUGUST, 2015 WHICH DOES NOT COVER ENOUGH VEHICLES. MY CAR HAS THAT TRANSMISSION PROBLEM (BUILT ON 02/2015). I ALSO NOTICE A LOT OF OTHER 2015 GRAND CARAVANS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION.

NO FURTHER INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.

OPELIKA CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM LOCATED AT 801 COLUMBUS PKWY, OPELIKA, AL 36801, (334) 749-8113, WAS CONTACTED AND MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,677.
CAME OUT TO MY CAR AND THE DRIVER SIDE HEADREST WAS DEPLOYED. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN NO VEHICLE ACCIDENTS. MY MINIVAN WAS STATIONARY IN MY DRIVEWAY.
FRONT SEAT ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT DEPLOYED ON ITS OWN. VEHICLE WAS PARKED WITH NOBODY INSIDE WHEN IT HAPPENED. I DID RECEIVE A LETTER IN MAIL THAT IT IS AN ISSUE AND LETTER HAD BEEN SUBMITTED WITH THIS.

THE CONTACT WAS SLAMMED IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD DUE TO THE FAILURE AND SUFFERED A MINOR HEADACHE. THE CONTACT CALLED JAMES CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF CEDAR LAKE(13007 WICKER AVE, CEDAR LAKE, IN 46303) BY PHONE AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE; HE WAS THEN GIVEN AN ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WITH NO WARNING THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STARTED TO BLINK THEN THE VEHICLE STARTED TO JERK AND IT WAS LOOSING POWER AND WOULD NOT GO OVER 20 ON THE CITY STREET.
THE HEADREST DEPLOYED AND WILL NOT GO BACK IN. THIS IS A FEATURE TO PREVENT WHIPLASH IN A CRASH, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WHEN THE HEADREST DEPLOYED. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND NOW I AM CONCERNED ABOUT MY SAFETY DRIVING IF IT HAPPENS TO THE OTHER ONE UNEXPECTEDLY.

WHILE MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON! I HAPPENED TO BE SITTING IN THE SEAT AT THE TIME AND THANKFULLY IT DIDN'T HURT ME BUT IT SCARED THE CRUD OUT OF ME!! WE WERE ACTUALLY ONLY GOING ABOUT 5MPH AS WE WERE COMING OUT OF THE PARKING LOT OF A CHIC-FIL-A.
TOOK CAR TO DEALER THIS IS WHAT WAS FOUND. REPLACE INTAKE CAM EXHAUST CAMSHAFT 24 ROCKERS AND 24 LIFTERS (FOUND CYLINDER 3 ROCKER INTAKE AND EXHAUST COMING APART DAMAGING INTAKE AND EXHAUST CAMSHAFT) I WAS TOLD THIS IS DUE TO WEAR AND TEAR. THE CAR IS ONLY 6 YEARS OLD $2,700.00 DOLLAR REPAIR.
RECENTLY MY VAN HAS STARTED SHUTTING OFF AUTOMATICALLY FOR NO REASON WHILE IT SHOULD STILL BE RUNNING. SOMETIMES IT JUST SHUTS OFF AND THEN RESTARTS AND OTHER TIMES IT HAS SHUT OFF AND I HAVE HAD TO RESTART IT WITH THE KEY. THERE IS NO SPECIFIC THING THAT TRIGGERS THE ISSUE AND IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE SITTING STILL, AFTER PUTTING IT IN PARK, AND WHILE TURNING GOING DOWN THE ROAD. I LOOKED UP ANY RECALLS FOR THE VEHICLE BUT THERE WERE NON. HOWEVER, THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THE MINI VAN.

THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR IS STUCK SHUT! IT DON'T WORK ANY MORE. HUGE SAFETY CONCERN!!!!!!! IT STOPPED WORKING AFTER I DROVE IT. I CAN'T EVEN UNLOCK THE DOOR OR MANUALLY OPEN IT..

FAULTY ACTUATOR, DOORS MAKE A SOUND WHEN UNLOCKING AND NOW RESULTING IN ONE DOOR NOT OPENING. THE NOISE HAPPENS ALL OF THE TIME (PARK OR GOING) JUST THE UNLOCK BUTTON HAS TO BE PRESSED.

I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED FROM AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THAT THE REPAIR COST WOULD BE OUT OF MY POCKET. HOW IS THIS OK WHEN IT CLEARLY HAS TO BE A MANUFACTURER MALFUNCTION. THIS SERIOUSLY NEEDS SOME ATTENTION AND A RECALL ISSUED.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 129,088.
THE FRONT PASSENGER HEADREST POPPED OPEN. I WASN'T DRIVING OR EVEN IN THE CAR WHEN IT HAPPENED THANKFULLY. I CAME OUT TO THE CAR AND IT HAD POPPED. WHEN DRIVING IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE ON I-71 NORTH A LOUD WHINING NOISE CAME FROM THE FRONT LEFT OF THE VEHICLE IT THEN HAD DIFFICULTY ACCELERATING. I HAD MY FOOT PRESSING HARD ON THE GAS JUST TO GET TO 60 MPH. THE RPM WAS ALL THE WAY TO 6. THE VEHICLE WOULD SLOW AND SPEED UP WITH A JERK. ONCE I ARRIVED TO WORK I PARKED THE CAR. WHEN I TURNED THE VAN BACK ON MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO THEN HAD IT TOWED TO ANOTHER LOCATION THAT WAS ABLE TO REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION. I AM CURRENTLY AWAITING THE FULL DIAGNOSTIC. I RELIGIOUSLY MAINTAIN MY VEHICLE TO AVOID CATASTROPHIC FAILURES SUCH AS THE ONE I AM HAVING NOW. SO DISAPPOINTED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THIS VEHICLE AS IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP SEVERAL TIME SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT WITH PROBLEMS FROM ELECTRICAL ISSUES, THE SIDE DOORS UNABLE TO OPEN, AND OIL PAIN CRACKING.

I PICKED UP FROM DEALER DROVE T MINS DOWN THE ROAD AND WHILE DRIVING BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER HEAD READY AIR BAGS DEPLOYED . ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT NOT TO MENTION HIT ME IN THE BACK OF HEAD WHILE DRIVING DOWN MAJOR HWY 41 IN FLA . I ALSO HAVE DAUGHTER IN WHEELCHAIR IT'S A CONVERTED WHEELCHAIR VAN HAD TO BE TOWED BACK TO DEALER AND NOW DRIVING NON WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE RENTAL ..MY AIR CONDITIONING WAS ALSO WHILSTLING AFTER JUST BEING FIXED . I WAS ONLY DOING ABOUT 30MPH. *TR
