TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 CHRYSLER GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE FOUR CYLINDER MISFIRE MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO PROPERLY ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS, COIL PACK AND THE TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS REPLACED. METAL DEBRIS WAS DISCOVERED IN THE ENGINE OIL PAN. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE DOUBLE INTAKE CAM, ROCKER ARM AND TWO LIFTERS ON THE LEFT BANK OF THE ENGINE WERE ALSO REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER FIRKENS CHRYSLER JEEP LOCATED AT 2700 1ST ST, BRADENTON, FL 34208, WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.
WENT TO OPEN BACK RIGHT WINDOW IT MADE A LOUD SHATTER SOUND, FREAKED ME OUT ..LUCKILY I WAS NOT DRIVING. I WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. DODGE FCC DID PAY FOR DODGE COMPANY TO LOOK AT ISSUE AND GIVE THEIR VIEW. I PAID JUNEAU GLASS TO FIX IT FOR 384.00 HAVE NOT BEEN REIMBURSED FOR THAT YET.
DRIVER SIDE HEAT DOES NOT WORK/TOLD THAT LOWER BOTTOM SEAT WARMER GRID NEEDS TO BE REPLACED $235.00 FOR PARTS, LABOR $225.00
THIS VEHICLE HAD DAMAGE TO THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR WHICH LED ME TO BELIEVE THAT THE DOOR WAS OFF TRACK AND NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST VEHICLE THAT I'VE HAD WITH THIS COMPANY THAT HAS NOT BEEN ROLLED WORTHY.
SECOND TIME MY VAN HAS LOST ELECTRICAL AND BRAKES. TODAY I WAS IN THE DRIVE THRU, CURVING AROUND THE BUILDING TO THE LEFT, SLIGHT HILL AT TURN. AGAIN, GAS GAUGE GOES TO EMPTY, THIS TIME HALF OF THE DASHBOARD IS ON, NO BRAKES. WAS ABLE TO TURN VAN OFF AND RESTART. TOWED AGAIN TO THE DEALERSHIP. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY MALFUNCTION AND LIFE THREATENING!
PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR NO LONGER LOCKS WITHOUT LOCKING IT BY HAND. MY CHILDREN CAN OPEN THE DOOR WHILE WE ARE DRIVING BECAUSE IT DOESN'T LOCK UNLESS I REACH OVER AND LOCK IT BY HAND. I HAVE TO UNLOCKED IT AS WELL BY HAND TO GET THE KIDS OUT. TO USE THAT DOOR, I HAVE TO UNLOCK THE FRONT DOOR, REACH BACK AND UNLOCK THE DOOR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE'S PASSENGER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR LOCKED AND FAILED TO UNLOCK. THE CONTACT STATED THEY WERE UNABLE TO UNLOCK THE DOOR. THE CONTACT HAD NOT TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.
The contact leased a rental 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that while the vehicle was turned on and the gear shifter was shifted in park (P), she exited the vehicle while her three children remained inside the vehicle. The contact stated that her son went into the driver's seat and moved the gear shifter. The vehicle then rolled away and came to a complete stop in a ditch. The air bags were not deployed upon impact. The contact's son had a bruise on his head, her daughter had a bruise on her neck from the seat belt and body aches, and her other son had a cut lip upon impact. Medical attention was received for the three children. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a body shop but the contact was unaware if it was deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
7/21/2020 - DRIVING THROUGH A LEFT TURN ON A MAIN ROAD AND LOST ALL ELECTRIC- STEERING, BRAKES, DASHBOARD. COASTED TO THE LEFT TURN LANE. APPLIED PRESSURE TO BRAKES, BUT WAS STILL ROLLING. HAD TO THROW IT INTO PARK TO STOP AN ACCIDENT FROM HAPPENING. TURNED VAN OFF AND RESTARTED VAN. DROVE TO THE GAS STATION ACROSS THE STREET AND HAD IT TOWED. I HAD FIVE CHILDREN IN MY VAN, THIS MAJOR SAFETY MALFUNCTION COULD HAVE KILLED ALL OF US. DEALERSHIP HAD THE VAN FOR 10 DAYS AND CLAIMED ONE POSSIBILITY WAS WINTER GAS STILL AVAILABLE AT GAS STATIONS COMBINED WITH WARM WEATHER. OFFERED NO SOLUTION OTHER THAN TO PICK UP MY VAN. I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN TO MY OTHER DODGE GRAND CARAVAN MULTIPLE TIMES UNTIL I FINALLY FELT LIKE I COULDN'T CHANCE MY LIFE ANYMORE AND TURNED IT IN. THIS IS A WELL KNOWN, DOCUMENTED DODGE ISSUE!! THE SERVICE AGENT IGNORED MY REQUESTS TO LOOK INTO IT. NO CODE SHOWS FOR THIS ISSUE AND IT DIDN'T HAPPEN DURING THEIR DRIVE, SO THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THEY ARE SELLING DEATH TRAPS. ADDITIONALLY, WHEN I PUMP GAS AND MY TANK IS ALREADY OVER A HALF OF TANK, THE SENSOR READS FULL AND THE HANDLE CLICKS OFF.
I WAS INVOLVED ON A ACCIDENT ON JULY 6, 2020 AS I WAS CROSSING THE INTERSTATION I WAS STRUCK BY ANOTHER MINIVAN ON THE DRIVER SIDE NEAR FRONTAL AREA. THE IMPACT OF THE ACCIDENT HAD TOTALED MY VAN AS WELL AS THE OTHER VAN. BUT MY AIRBAGS NEAR DEPLOYED I HIT MY HEAD ON THE SIDE OF THE DOOR, I HURT MY NECK AND MY BACK PRETTY BAD. I HAVE A KNOT ON MY PELVIS BONE THAT HURT VERY BAD, I HAVE BRUISING ON MY LEGS AS WELL AS THE KNOT THAT'S ON MY PELVIS BONE.*DT*JB*DT*JB
my car was towed away from my parking space and given to a dodge dealer, i coulndt figure out where it was, i finally found where it was , the guy who took it in was already doing repairs and investigating with out, knowing whose car is it, he goes and does a repair not being on what we talked about and does his repair, then he tells me i payy up 1,400 for the repairs he did, before he repaired it i asked him to check the fluids makes sure everything is good and ready so i wont be left in the road stranded, i come back 2 day later cause i take my car for a drive, for 15 mins and head to the same dealer cause oil pressure light and battery light and oil light was on and the person who serviced me saw this when i took it in, before i asked him to check if everything with fluids is up to date, when he first was repairing it and didnt know what was wrong with it, so then i meet him and he says well we cant repair it because we dont know what could it be and the car needs more driving for it to see whats wrong with it, and or you can try coming with warranty, then my car breaks down after i leave the shop test driving it for 15 mins cause he advised me to drive it or get warranty,, instead of checking it for inspection. then iam left stranded in the road cause of this situation. i take the car back to the same dealer for repair and they say its the battery and starter, and now they saying pay it in this amount of time or my car will be towed away,.all that waste of money in repairs and me coming back and back, for me to have to pick up my car at a tow yard, cause they didnt want to take it in when i had my 2nd visit they, now my car is sitting in my car, i am still financing it , for a car that doesnt drive. and when i call a local mechanic he says my engine is blown up. and its not the battery and starter..i was young and it felt like i was being robbed.

THE FAILURE RECURRED WHILE ACCELERATING WITH THE ECONOMY LIGHT DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FELDMAN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP LOCATED AT 23940 ALLEN RD, WOODHAVEN, 48183 HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A CAUSE FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,895.
I bought this vehicle in 2019. I have had an intermittent safety issue even now in 2022. I have taken this vehicle into the dealer 3 different times. Every time they said that they did not see anything wrong. Now the vehicle is out of warranty and it still has the intermittent problem, which is that the right sliding door occasionally does not stay oven when you open it. It opens all the way, no matter if you hit the keyfob, hit the open button above the windshield, push the open button in the back seat, or lift open the handle on the outside of the vehicle. This is how it should work. Unfortunately, several times over the last 3 years it doesn't want to stay open and starts closing by itself - immediately after it opens - sometimes causing panic and sometimes it hits you in the side and just stays there while making a ratcheting noise for a minute. Then you have to manually open or close the door. This defective action of the door would happen sometimes once or more a day and then not happen for a month. We got so used to this bad door system that we hardly pay attention to it anymore. But anytime someone else uses that door, they may get shocked about the door closing again right after someone opens it - and it freaks them out, or worse. The right passenger sliding door did the problem the most ,and the left sliding passenger door also did this mis-action - but not as often.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Grand Caravan. The contact stated that the vehicle inadvertently downshifted and hesitated while depressing the accelerator pedal without warning. The vehicle had been taken to the dealer and the torque converter was replaced twice and the transmission software was updated; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
I HAD AN ACCIDENT YESTERDAY WHEN TRYING TO PARK THE CAR ACCELERATED TO THE POINT THAT I HIT A GARAGE DOOR DAMAGING THE CAR INSIDE, ALL WHILE MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL PRESSING VERY HARD. WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE WHILE MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE THE CAR SHOOT BACK AT TREMENDOUS SPEED, IT WOULD NOT STOPED REGARDLESS OF MY FOOT PRESSING ON THE BRAKE AS FAR AS THE BRAKE GOES. I HIT A CAR PARKED ON THE STREET WITH SUCH FORCE THAT PUSHED IT ON TOP OF THE SIDEWALK CAUSING EXTENSIVE DAMAGE. I,WAS,,TRAVELING UP 38TH STREET IN UNION CITY AND IN THE PROCESS OF PARKING A MY FRIEND'S DRIVEWAY, TURNING FROM THE STREET WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES LIGHTLY. I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM IS ON THE ACCELERATOR, IT ACCELERATEDM ON ITS OWN WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO STOP. THE CAR IS RIGHT NOW AT A SHOP, THEY WILL RUN A DIAGNOSTIC AND SEND AN ESTIMATE OF THE BODY DAMAGE. I HAVE CONTACTED MY INSURANCE COMPANY FOR THEM TO HAVE THE CAR MECHANICAL FUNCTIONS. PROBABLY A BROKEN AXEL ON THE REAR WHEELS.
The vehicle keeps blowing fuses every time you try to start it.
2019 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. 3.6 PENTASTAR ENGINE. 60K MILES. FOR OVER A YEAR IT HAS ROUGH IDLE AND ENGINE VIBRATION AT HWY SPEED. MISFIRE ON CYLINDER #2 DOES NOT GO AWAY. ALWAYS RETURNS. HAVE REPLACED COILS, PLUGS TWICE AND INJECTORS. #2 CYLINDER MISFIRE STILL THROWS ENGINE LIGHT. WENT TO AND CALLED DODGE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES ABOUT PROBLEM. THEY CLAIM THERE ARE NO KNOWN ISSUES, PROBLEMS OR RECALLS. THEY KEEP TRYING TO TELL ME IT'S BAD FUEL AND I SHOULD USE HIGHER GRADE FUEL. I'VE DONE THAT AS WELL AND THE MISFIRE ON #2 CYLINDER IS ALWAYS THERE. THE VIBRATION GETS SO BAD SOMETIMES THE ENTIRE VEHICLE SHAKES LIKE YOUR SITTING IN A MASSAGE CHAIR. MY WIFE REFUSES TO DRIVE IT ANYMORE AND I'M REALLY FRUSTRATED THAT DODGE REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THERE IS A DEFECT ON THIS ENGINE THAT IS CAUSING THIS AND SHOULD BE COVERED BY THEM. IT'S ONLY A YEAR OLD AND SHOULD NOT BE HAVING THIS PROBLEM.

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO HEAD REST FLIPPING DOWN STRIKING WIFE IN HEAD LEAVING A SMALL HEMATOMA. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE STOW N GO SEATS WERE INSTALLED IN THE SECOND ROW.THE CONSUMER'S WIFE SAT IN THE SECOND ROW PASSENGER SIDE. SHE PULLED A LEVER ATTEMPTING TO ADJUST THE SEAT AND THE ENTIRE SEAT JERKED FORWARD WITH A HEAVY IMPACT. *JS
WE RENTED THIS CARAVAN WHILE ON VACATION IN DESTIN. ON OUR WAY TO RETURN IT, THIS PAST MONDAY, I WAS SITTING ON THE DRIVER SIDE SECOND ROW SEAT. I WANTED TO RECLINE MY SEAT A BIT ,SO I REACHED MY LEFT HAND DOWN TO PULL THE LEVER AT THE BOTTOM DOOR SIDE OF THE SEAT. INSTEAD OF THAT BEING WHERE A RECLIING LEVER WOULD NORMALLY BE, IT WAS THE LEVER FOR FLIPPING THE ENTIRE SEAT UP AND SNAPPING DOWN THE HEADREST. IT FORCED ME INTO A FORWARD FOLDED POSITION WITH GREAT FORCE, THEN THE HEADREST SNAPPED DOWN ON MY NECK. I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH EXTREME WHIPLASH AND TORN MUSCLES. IM HAVING MIGRAINES DUE TO THE INJURY AND PAIN IN MY HEAD, NECK, SHOULDERS AND BACK. MY CONCERN IS THAT IF A CHILD WOULD HAVE DONE THE SAME THING IT MAY HAVE SERIOUSLY INJURED THEM OR EVEN KILLED THEM. THIS IS A VERY BAD DESIGN AND NEEDS TO BE RECONFIGURED.

ALSO, WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NAPLETON CLERMONT CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (LOCATED AT 15859 FL-50, CLERMONT, FL 34711, (888) 359-4237) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING A NEW TRANSMISSION AND BOTH CYLINDER HEADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURES CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED TWO ADDITIONAL TIMES, BUT THE FAILURES RECURRED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE DURING THE LAST VISITS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,716. *DT*JB
THE CAR WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. I WAS SITTING ON THE DRIVER SIDE MIDDLE SEAT, NOT SITTING BACK, AS THE SEAT WAS RECLINED TOO FAR FOR ME TO SIT WITH MY BACK AGAINST THE BACK OF THE SEAT. WHEN I WAS TRYING TO BRING THE SEAT BACK FORWARD FROM THE LEANED BACK POSITION, THE HEAD REST CAME DOWN AND SLAMMED INTO MY NECK IT'S AS IF THE MECHANISM THOUGHT THE SEAT WERE GOING TO BE STOWED INTO THE FLOOR. I HAVE BEEN SUFFERING FROM A MASSIVE HEADACHE SINCE THIS HAPPENED. I WILL BE GOING TO MY DOCTOR WHEN I RETURN HOME, TO SEE IF THERE IS ANY SERIOUS INJURY. THERE WAS NOTHING CONCLUSIVE IN THE DIAGNOSIS. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED, AS IT COULD CAUSE SEVERE INJURY.
DURING THE COURSE OF DRIVING VAN SKIPS/SLIPS THEN WILL START DECREASING SPEED BUT THEN WILL PICK BACK UP. THIS HAPPENS ON CITY STREETS OR HIGHWAYS IT DOES NOT MATTER. STARTED IN JULY TO PRESENT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT RENTED A 2019 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT WAS SEATED IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE BEHIND THE DRIVER'S SEAT. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ADJUST THE SEAT, THE HEADREST STRUCK THE BACK OF THE CONTACT'S NECK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE WAS EXPERIENCING HEADACHES DUE TO THE INJURY. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT RECEIVED. THE CONTACT INFORMED AVIS CAR RENTAL SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (780 N MCDONNELL RD, SAN FRANCISCO, CA 94128, (650) 877-6780) OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11.
WHILE TRAVELING AROUND 30MPH, BRAKES WERE APPLIED IN A "PANIC STOP" FASHION - FAST HARD DEPRESSION. THE ROAD WAS STRAIGHT, CLEAN AND DRY. VISIBILITY WAS EXCELLENT AND THE VIEW WAS CLEAR FOR ABOUT A HALF MILE. WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED IT FELT AS THOUGH THE ABS SYSTEM INTERFERED WITH BRAKING, CAUSING NO ACTUAL FORCE TO BE APPLIED TO THE BRAKES. NO DECELERATION WAS FELT BY THE DRIVER, OR ANY OF THE OTHER TWO PASSENGERS. ALTHOUGH THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS FULLY DEPRESSED, THE VAN CONTINUED AT A SPEED OF ABOUT 35MPH FOR AN ADDITIONAL 70-80 FEET WITHOUT SLOWING, AND WAS STOPPED ONLY BY THE VEHICLE IT EVENTUALLY STRUCK. DISTINCTIVE INJURIES ON THE DRIVER'S LEG CREATED BY THE DEBRIS OF THE DASH PANEL ALSO REFLECT THAT THE LEG AND FOOT WERE ALIGNED WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL AND NOT "ELSEWHERE". ALTHOUGH THIS MODEL HAS A SAFETY RECALL REGARDING "SURFACE COATING" AFFECTING THE BRAKING ABILITY, THIS VIN WAS NOT IMPLICATED. ALSO, THIS INCIDENT DID NOT APPEAR TO INVOLVE "REDUCED" BRAKING ABILITY. THERE WAS NO BRAKING. OTHER CAUSES ARE POSSIBLE, BUT THE BEST WAY TO DESCRIBE THE BEHAVIOR OF THE BRAKING SYSTEM BEHAVED WOULD BE TO DESCRIBE IT AS THOUGH THE ABS HAD DISENGAGED ALL BRAKING ABILITIES SO THAT THE PEDAL HAD SOME FEEDBACK TO THE DRIVER, BUT NO DISCERNIBLE EFFECT ON SLOWING THE VEHICLE. IT WAS AS THOUGH THE ABS SOMEHOW TURNED THE BRAKES OFF. CONSUMER STATED THIS WAS A RENTAL VEHICLE. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE ANY SPECIFIC WARRANTY SERVICE *AND* THAT THE WARRANTY SERVICE WAS NOT INDICATED FOR THIS PARTICULAR VIN FOR THE ONLY 'BRAKING ISSUE' THAT SEEMS TO AFFECT THIS MAKE/MODEL.*JB
THE BRAKE PEDAL MORE THAN 2 INCHES CLOSER TO THE DRIVER MAKING IT VERY LIKELY TO GET YOUR FOOT STUCK UNDER THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN MOVING YOUR FOOT FROM ACCELLERATOR PEDAL TO BRAKE PEDAL. NOW YOU HAVE TO PULL YOUR LEG BACK AND UP HITTING THE STEERING WHEEL IN THE PROCESS. ATTACHED PICTURE IS WITH ACCELLERATOR IN IDLE POSITION.

TL* THE CONTACT RENTED A 2019 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR WAS IN PARK. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING, THE CONTACT STEPPED OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO REVERSE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT WAS STRUCK BY THE FRONT DRIVER'S DOOR AND DRAGGED BY THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED BY AN UNKNOWN PERSON. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED LEG, BACK, ARM, AND SHOULDER INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT IT WAS MISSING THE LOCK BETWEEN THE PARK AND REVERSE GATE. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DODGE DEALER.
