POWER STEERING MAKES A WHINNING SOUND WHEN STARTING THE SUV. THE AIRBAG LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF AND THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON DUE TO ELECTRICAL ISSUES. MY IGNITION ALSO SLIPS WHILE DRIVING.
REBUILT CYLINDER HEADS DUE TO MISFIRE IN 2 CYLINDERS. ENGINE WILL NOT START, STARTER WILL JUST CLICK WHEN KEY IS TURNED. HORN BEEPS BY ITSELF.
I HAVE READ THAT SEVERAL OTHERS ONLINE HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND DEALER CAN NOT FIX IT. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR 3 MONTHS AND AT RANDOM TIMES WHEN YOU TRY TO START THE CAR IT WILL NOT TURN OVER, WILL NOT START. IT IS NOT THE BATTERY, IT HAS BEEN TESTED. IT WILL NOT START WHEN JUMPED, IT AT TIMES WILL START IN NEUTRAL, BUT THE OTHERS YOU JUST HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL IT DECIDES TO START, HOURS, SOMETIMES DAYS. IT IS ELECTRICAL, POSSIBLY ANIT THEFT. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THIS HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED.
CAR WILL NOT START. JUST CLICKING NOISE IN GEAR SHIFTER AND NEAR GLOVE BOX. AFTER ABOUT 50 TIMES TRYING THEN VEHICLE STARTS AND IS FINE UNTIL NEXT TIME WHICH MAY BE WEEKS, MONTHS OR DAYS.
ROUGHLY 3 WEEKS AGO, I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND MY HEADLIGHTS WOULD NOT COME ON. WHEN I MADE IT HOME, I TRIED TURNING THE LIGHTS OFF AND ON. THEY WOULD POP ON FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN GO RIGHT BACK OUT. AFTER A DAY OR TWO, ,Y SON CAME OVER AND CHANGED THE BULBS FOR THE HEADLIGHTS. THEY WORKED FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS. LAST NIGHT THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. NO HEAD LIGHTS. IF YOU LEAVE THE LIGHTS IN THE ON POSITION, THEY WILL FLASH ON AND OFF AT VARIOUS TIMES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING AND LOSS POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START WHEN PROMPTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT LIVONIA CHRYSLER JEEP (30777 PLYMOUTH RD, LIVONIA, MICHIGAN 48150) REPLACED THE VEHICLE BATTERY THREE TIMES AND THE STARTER WAS REPLACED TWICE. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER; HOWEVER, THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,803.
CAR ENGINE STALLS WHEN BRAKING, SLOWING DOWN AND ALSO STOPPING AT STOP SIGNS. RANDOMLY OCCURS OFTEN

THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF THE DEALER WOULD BE ABLE TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
AFTER CAR SITS OVER NIGHT CAR IS STARTED AND DROVE LESS THEN 5 MINUTES AND CAR WILL SHUT OFF WITH OUT CAUSE. LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. CAR HAS TO PLACED IN NEUTRAL AND RESTARTED. WILL CRANK OVER ABOUT 6 TIMES A SMALL THEN RESTART. THIS CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW FAST OR SLOW YOU ARE GOING IT WILL SHUT OFF.
THE ALARM SYSTEM GOES OFF BY ITSELF. EVEN WHEN I AM DRIVING

IT'S NOT YOUR STARTER OR ALTERNATOR IT'S YOUR NEUTRAL CUT OUT (SAFETY SWITCH). HAVE TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL TO START. OWN A 2010 AND HAVE CALLED AND COMPLAINED ABOUT IT AS IT IS A SAFETY PROBLEM. IF YOU DON'T GET ANY SATISFACTION FROM YOUR DEALER OR DODGE FILE A DEFECT COMPLAINT FORM AND GET THEM TO INVESTIGATE A RECALL. SAVE YOUR RECEIPTS FOR ALL EXPENSES INCURRED FOR THIS ISSUE AND THEY WILL REIMBURSE YOU. IT'S BEEN HAPPENING MORE OFTEN IT IS SPORADIC, LOOKING UP THIS INFO. I SEE IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES I NEED IT FIXED I CAN NOT AFFORD TO GET STUCK I AM A SINGLE MOM.

A DEALER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
THE BRAKING SYSTEM HAS BEEN A SERIOUS PROBLEM FROM THE FIRST MONTH OF MY PURCHASE.CAR WAS PURCHASED IN 2011, ROTORS & PADS FRONT REPLACED. EVERY YEAR I REPLACE ROTORS, PADS CALIPERS, EVEN THE MASTER CYLANDER. RECENTLY AN ENTIRE TEAM OF MACHANICS WORKED SEVERAL HOURS ON THE CAR, ALL WERE FRUSTRATED THAT THEY COULD NOT CORRECT THE BRAKE PROBLEMS. SAID THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE IN THEIR EXPERIENCE. COST ME $1000.00! ANOTHER PROBLEM SHOWING UP IS THE CAR JUST SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. THIS , AFTER THE KEY WAS RECALLED AND REPLACED. THIS HAS JUST HAPPENED TWICE.
NO HEAT FROM PASSENGER SIDE VENTS ON ANY SETTING, WHETHER DRIVING OR STATIONARY. AS A RESULT, DEFROST PERFORMANCE DOES NOT MEET FMVSS 103. FLUSHED HEATER CORE AND A LOT OF DEBRIS CAME OUT AND HEAT WORKED ON BOTH SIDES. NUMEROUS SIMILAR CASES HAVE BEEN REPORTED ONLINE. ATTACHED IMAGE IS OF SEDIMENT THAT CAME OUT DURING FLUSH. *TR
INTERMITTENT NON-FUNCTION OF POWER WINDOWS, INTERIOR DOME LIGHTS AND DASH LIGHTS CANNOT BE ACTIVATED OR CONTROLLED WITH STEERING COLUMN CONTROLS, REAR WIPER WASHER MOTOR ACTIVATES WHEN REAR WIPER IS TURNED ON, BUT TURNS OFF WHEN THE CONTROLS ARE ADVANCED TO THE SPRAY FUNCTION. KEYLESS UNLOCK INTERMITTENTLY NON-FUNCTIONAL. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS DIAGNOSED AS A FAULTY TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIMP). UNFORTUNATELY THE JOURNEY WAS OMITTED FROM THE TIMP RECALL CAMPAIGN LEAVING THE CUSTOMER ON THE HOOK FOR THE REPAIRS. THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE ADDED TO THE RECALL LIST AS IT POSES A SAFETY RISK OF LACK OF WIPERS AND OTHER POSSIBLE SAFETY ISSUES WHILE DRIVING.
RANDOM CRANKING ISSUE. HAS LEFT ME STRANDED SEVERAL TIMES. IT WILL CRANK AND MOVE AND AFTER I PARK SOMEWHERE AND SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF THE NEXT TIME I GET READY TO GO SOMEWHERE IT WILL NOT CRANK. STARTER, IGNITION, BATTERY, BATTERY CABLES, ALTERNATOR HAVE BEEN REPLACED. I HAVE ALSO TAKEN THE KEY TO LOCKSMITH TO MAKE SURE IT HASN'T LOST PROGRAMMING. DEALERSHIP SAYS IT CANNOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. IT HAS LEFT ME STRANDED 18 TIMES THIS MONTH ALONE. IT RANDOMLY WILL NOT CRANK WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY. WHETHER IN MY GARAGE OR AT THE GROCERY STORE. IT WON'T RESTART UNTIL THE NEXT DAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS NOW. I HAVE READ SEVERAL POSTS ON REPAIR FORUMS WHERE PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH NO REMEDY FROM THE MANUFACTURE. PLEASE HELP!

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LIVONIA CHRYSLER JEEP (30777 PLYMOUTH RD, LIVONIA, MI) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INTEGRATED POWER MODULE WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MODULE WAS REPLACED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE CONTACT ALSO INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD SUDDENLY SHUT OFF WHILE BEING OPERATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE SAME DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000. *TT*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE JOURNEY. WHEN ANY OF THE DOORS WERE OPENED, THE HORN SOUNDED AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADES MOVED APPROXIMATELY A HALF INCH. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THE FAILURES COULD AFFECT THE LIGHTS AND THE BATTERY COULD LOSE POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED PROGRAM MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 162,000.
OEM TPMS SENSOR VALVE STEM CRACKED AND BROKE, INSTANTLY DEFLATING TIRE. MATERIAL APPEARS TO BE MANUFACTURED FROM ALUMINUM AND SHOWS SIGNS OF CORROSION APPROX 1/4" BELOW TOP OF FILL HEAD. IF VEHICLE WAS IN HIGH SPEED MOTION AT TIME OF FAILURE, THEN INSTANT TIRE DEFLATION WOULD HAVE OCCURRED AND LEAD TO A POSSIBLE LOSS OF CONTROL AND TIRE DAMAGE. A WEB SEARCH FOR SIMILAR ISSUE YIELDS A FEW LEGAL SITES THAT ARE INVESTIGATING ISSUE FOR THE 2009-2010 MODEL YEARS AS LATER MODELS WERE INSTALLED WITH RUBBER STEM.
DODGE JOURNEY BRAKE SYSTEM IS UNDERSIZED FOR VEHICLE SIZE AND WEIGHT. BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS ARE NEEDING FULL CHANGEOUT AFTER APPROX 25K MILES. VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 60K MILES ON ODOMETER, AND BRAKE SYSTEM AGAIN MUST BE REPAIRED PREMATURELY. I BELIEVE THIS IS THE REASON DODGE INCREASED THE ROTOR SIZE ON 2011 MODELS.
DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE, ALL OF A SUDDEN MY HEATING/COOLING WOULD SHUT OFF ALONG WITH MY RADIO. THEN IT WOULD COME ON. IT DID THIS SEVERAL TIMES. SHORTLY AFTER THAT, MY TURN SIGNALS NO LONGER WORKED AND IT CAUSED ME TO ALMOST GET IN AN ACCIDENT. I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65-70 MPH. IT CONTINUED TO DO THIS EVEN AFTER STOPPING. A WEEK LATER, AS I GOT UP TO GO TO WORK IN THE MORNING, IT WOULDN'T START. IT WOULD JUST CLICK WHEN ATTEMPTING. IT WASN'T SENDING THE SIGNAL TO THE STARTER TO GET IT GOING. I WAS STRANDED. I FEEL LIKE MY VEHICLE IS POSSESSED AND IT'S REALLY SCARY. *TR
THE PASSENGER ACTIVE HEAD REST DEPLOYED WHILE PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. THE METAL CLIP INSIDE THE HEAD REST BROKE THE PLASTIC HOLDING IT. I CONTACTED DODGE AND THEY HAD A GUY COME AND TAKE PICTURES AND THEN A FEW WEEKS AFTER THAT I RECEIVED A LETTER STATING THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE COST OF THE HEAD REST. IT'S A DEFECTIVE HEAD REST, THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN NO REASON AS TO WHY IT DEPLOYED AND BROKE.
VEHICLE HAS INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WHERE, WHEN STARTING, ONLY A "CLICK" SOUND IS HEARD, AND ENGINE DOES NOT START. TOLD ORIGINALLY, THAT THE BATTERY WAS BAD. IT WAS REPLACED. PROBLEM RECURRED. THEN TOLD THE ALTERNATOR AND STARTER WERE BAD, SO THEY WERE REPLACED. THE PROBLEM RECURRED. SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD US THAT SOFTWARE ON THE "COMPUTER" NEEDED TO BE UPDATED, SO THAT WAS DONE. THE PROBLEM CONTINUES TO RECUR. WHEN VEHICLE WON'T START, JUMPING IT WON'T HELP. WE HAVE TO JUST TRY OVER AND OVER AGAIN. SOMETIMES IT STARTS AFTER A FEW TRIES, SOMETIMES WE HAVE TO WAIT 20-30 MINUTES BEFORE ENGINE FINALLY STARTS. ONE INSTANCE, THE VEHICLE DIDN'T START FOR AN HOUR. THE LAST COMMUNICATION WITH THE DEALER, AFTER HAVING THIS PROBLEM FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS, WAS THAT THEY CAN'T FIX IT BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS WRONG. THIS WAS AFTER SPENDING HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS ON WHAT TURNED OUT TO BE UNNECESSARY REPAIRS
WHILE VEHICLE IS PARKED IN APARTMENT COMPLEX PARKING LOT, FACTORY ALARM KEEPS GOING OFF. IN ORDER FOR IT TO STOP FUSES HAD TO BE TAKEN OUT.
THIS CAR HONKS RANDOMLY OFF OR ON, LONG OR SHORT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT SCARES DRIVERS WHO AREN'T AWARE AND CAN CAUSE A DISTRACTION LEADING TO A ACCIDENT.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
GAS CAP INDICATOR - MESSAGE APPEARS ON DASH STATING THAT GAS CAP IS AN ISSUE. I HAVE PURCHASED TWO GAS CAPS AFTER REPLACING THE ORIGINAL GAS CAP AND STILL HAVING ISSUES. THIS OCCURS WHILE DRIVING. STALL - RELATED TO THE GAS CAP ISSUE MY VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING FINALLY SHUTTING OFF AND LOSING POWER.

I WAS OUT OF TOWN PARKED AT A STORE WOULD NOT START. AS I WAS WAITING ON SOMEONE TO COME HELP ME THEN 30 MINS OR SO LATER MY CAR STARTED UP. MY BOYS AND I CUT OUR VACATION SHORT BECAUSE ITS VERY UNSAFE HAVING YOUR CAR NOT START IN A PLACE YOU KNOW NO ONE. WE'VE CHANGED THE BATTERY. THE NEXT MONTH I WAS GETTING GAS AND IT WOULDN'T START AGAIN. I HAD A PERSON JUMP ME AND TOOK IT TO GET CHECKED OUT AND THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. SO A MONTH AND A HALF THE CAR DID IT AGAIN I WAS AT THE MALL AND IT WOULDN'T START. THIS IS A HORRIBLE FEELING NOT KNOWING WHEN OR IF YOUR CAR IS GOING TO START OR NOT. WE CAN'T DRIVE OUT OF TOWN IN IT BECAUSE THE UNCERTAINTY IF IT'S GOING TO START OR NOT. HORN ACTIVATES ON ITS OWN AND INTERMITTENTLY. THIS OCCURS WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE STATIONARY AND OFF. TURN SIGNAL - WHEN RIGHT SIGNAL IS ENGAGED THE INTERIOR DOME LIGHT TURNS ON. THIS OCCURS ONLY WHILE DRIVING. AIR BAG DASH WARNING LIGHT STAYS LIT ON DASH AND MAKES A "BING" SOUND THIS OCCURS ONLY WHILE DRIVING. IT TURNS ON AND OFF ONLY WHILE DRIVING. WINDOW SWITCH - DRIVER SIDE WINDOW SWITCH FUNCTIONS INTERMITTENTLY. THIS OCCURS WHILE IN MOTION AND STATIONARY.
THE HORN WILL SOUND WITHOUT ANY NOTICE AND AT ANY TIME OF THE DAY. YOU CAN BE IN THE CAR OR OUT OF IT. IT CAN HAPPEN AT MULTIPLE TIMES OF THE DAY AND CAN WAKE YOU UP DURING THE NIGHT. I CONTACTED A DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THEY HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE PROBLEM. ALTHOUGH YOU CAN GO ON THE INTERNET AND THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS AND THEY SAY THEY HAVE HAD THEIR VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP WITH NO SOLUTION. IT CAN BE UNSAFE IF YOU ARE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE HORN STARTS HONKING, BUT AS I SAY IT CAN HAPPEN IN YOUR GARAGE AT NIGHT. AS FAR AS I KNOW THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS, BUT THERE SHOULD BE. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR AT LEAST THE LAST 12 MONTHS.

THE ALARM SYSTEM GOES OFF BY ITSELF. THE LIGHTS FLASH AND THE HORN BLOWS WHILE THE CAR IS OFF. IT CAN BE AT DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE DAY.
THE HORN RANDOMLY HONKS WITHOUT PUSHING THE HORN BUTTON. THIS HAPPEN BOTH WHILE SITTING UNATTENDED AS WELL AS WHILE DRIVING. VERY DISTRACTING TO BOTH DRIVER AND OTHERS DRIVING NEAR BY. WE HAD TO PULL THE FUSE'S DISABLING THE HORN TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR. DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO RESOLVE. IT APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AS YOU CAN FIND VIDEOS ONLINE OF THE MAKE AND MODEL DOING THE EXACT SAME THING OUR CAR DOES. WHY ISN'T THERE A RECALL ON THIS UNSAFE CONDITION?

THE HORN GOES OFF INTERMITTENTLY SOMETIMES JUST SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY. THIS IS DANGEROUS AS FELLOW MOTORISTS OR PEDESTRIANS THINK THAT I AM BLOWING MY HORN AT THEM.
HORN BEEPS AT RANDOM TIMES, WHILE PARKED IN DRIVEWAY, WHILE DRIVING, ETC. THIS CAUSES A SEVERE ISSUE WHEN YOUR HORN BEEPS AT OTHERS FOR NO REASON WHEN DRIVING DOWN ROAD. THIS SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL, HOWEVER IT APPEARS CHRYSLER DOESN'T FULLY UNDERSTAND THE CAUSE OR FIX.
SEVERAL INSTANCES OF DRIVING ALONG AND THE CAR JUST SHUTS OFF. WHEN THE CAR SHUTS OFF YOU LOOSE POWER STEERING. BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED IN 2015 AND IT HAPPENED ONCE BEFORE THE END OF THE YEAR. NOW IN 2016 THERE ARE AT LEAST 20 TIMES THAT I CAN COUNT. I KNOW THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS IN THE 2010 JOURNEYS BUT MINE IS NOT INCLUDED IN IT BY VIN #. I AM WONDERING IF THE TIME FRAME ON THIS ISSUE DOESN'T NEED TO GO WIDER OUT TO CATCH MORE.
IGNITION SWITCH SPRING GETTING STUCK. KEY FOB WILL NOT GO IN OR COME OUT WITHOUT FORCE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
REAR DOOR LOCKS WILL NOT OPEN WITH THE KEY FOB OR BY PUSHING THE UNLOCK DOOR BUTTON FROM INSIDE THE CAR. IF YOU MANUALL OPEN THE REAR DOORS BY PULLING UP ONT HE KNOB THEY WILL NOT LOCK WHEN DRIVING OR WITH THE KEY FOB OR BY HITTING THE DOOR LOCK BUTOON. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND DODGE CHRYSLER WILL NOT FIX IT
I HAVE REPLACED BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS NUMEROUS TIMES. I HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE ENTIRE BREAKING SYSTEM REPAIRED SEVERAL TIMES. HAVE SPENT A LOT OF MONEY ON REPAIRS. BRAKES SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE REPLACED THIS OFTEN.
MY HORN STARTED GOING OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF NIGHT,CONSTANTLY. IT EVEN GOES OFF WHILE DRIVING. THEN MY LOCKS DON'T PULL DOWN SO ANYONE CAN OPEN MY DOORS AND NO ALARM SINCE I HAD TO DISCONNECT MY HORN. I'VE SEEN MANY YOUTUBE VIDEOS OF OTHER VEHICLE OWNERS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AND DODGE WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THIS ISSUE. VERY DANGEROUS TO NOT HAVE A HORN ESP. DRIVING IN NY. DON'T EVER BUY DODGE/JEEP/CHRYSLER..HORRIBLE COMPANY.
ABOUT A YEAR AGO MY CAR HORN STARTED GOING OFF AT RANDOM. I COULD BE DRIVING OR IT COULD BE SITTING STATIONARY/NOT RUNNING AND THE HORN WOULD BLOW INTERMITTENTLY OR CONSTANTLY. I HAVE ALMOST CAUSE A FEW ACCIDENTS BEING STOPPED BEHIND SOMEONE AND THEN THE HORN BLOWS AND THEY START TO GO ON A RED LIGHT. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO MY REGULAR MECHANIC OVER 25 TIMES AND EVEN TOOK IT TO THE GLENDALE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. OF COURSE WHEN IT WAS THERE IT DIDN'T DO ANYTHING AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. I EVEN HAVE IT ON VIDEO SHOWING WHAT IT DOES. I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE AND AM APPALLED THAT CHRYSLER CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHAT THIS PROBLEM IS. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AROUND FOR OVER A YEAR WITHOUT MY HORN.
The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that the horn would engage independently while the vehicle was turned off and parked in the garage. The contact stated that she would disconnect the horn fuse per the Owner’s Manual. However, the failure would reoccur whenever the fuse was reconnected. The contact stated that the failure was draining the battery and the battery was replaced several times. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle lost motive power and shut off while driving on three different occasions. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road and jumpstarted the vehicle with assistance. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred increasingly and the vehicle failed to restart after several attempts. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) module was replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
