Brakes make a grinding sound at low speed. When in reverse, brakes make a humming sound. This was the same issue that caused a recall of previous models, however my vehicle is not covered by the recall. Took the vehicle to the dealer and they said “we know there is a noise but the brakes are working properly.” The noise is not normal.
I have had this vehicle approximately 6 months, in that time I have noticed that not only is there a lot of brake dust and the brakes make a loud noise when reversing. The sound is like metal rubbing together and I have only noticed it when backing up. I've taken it to the dealership twice, both times I was told it's the new braking system Ford has and it's "normal".
Engine makes intermittent metal crunching and scraping sounds at low speeds.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that when the vehicle was shifted into reverse(R) and reversing at approximately 4 MPH, the contact depressed the brake pedal, and the rear brakes made an abnormally loud sound. The contact pumped the brake pedal and the sound persisted. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to a dealer who diagnosed the failure and determined that rear brake clips needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the abnormal brake sound reoccurred, and she drove the vehicle back to the same dealer. The dealer advised that the loud brake sound was normal brake function. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.
