Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT CHICO AUTO CARE LOCATED AT 724 W. 9TH ST. IN CHICO , CA. 95928 (530) 894-7165. THE MECHANICS REPAIRED THE ELECTRICAL SWITCH THAT IS CONNECTED TO THE TOP OF THE IN-TANK FUEL PUMP, LOCATED ON THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK. THE MECHANICS STATED THAT THEY HAVE BEEN SEEING THIS MORE FREQUENTLY ON THE FORD TRUCKS AND THAT I WAS LUCKY IT DID NOT BLOW UP. WHEN TRYING TO GET A REPLACEMENT PART, IT WAS LEARNED THAT FORD HAS DESIGNED A NEW SWITCH FOR THIS PART AND THAT IS WHAT NEEDED IN PLACE OF THE OLD PART. IF THIS WAS A FAULTY SWITCH THAT WAS SHORTING OUT AND BURNING AND FORD CHANGED THE DESIGN, WHY WERE THE OWNERS NOT NOTIFIED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. *AK

Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
