2020 Ford Eco Sport There is a recall on this vehicle: 23V905000 I discovered the recall on my vehicle on April 5, 20204. I called the Tommie Vaughn Ford dealership to schedule the service for the recall. When I asked the service valet if they had the part on hand he said he didn't know and would call back on Monday. He called back and stated, "The service manager said we are not repairing those cars unless they don't start or on the side of the road." (my appointment was canceled) On [XXX], around 11:30 pm (the vehicle seemed to start to lose pressure and then a warning light came on: oil pressure to engine low. Around five minutes later the car went black and completely shut down in the middle of the road.) The next day I called Joe Meyers Ford who stated there wasn't a recall on the vehicle yet. It was an advance notice and if I brought the vehicle in it would just sit for months until there was a real recall. Then I called Autonation Ford who said the same thing and if I brought it in they would let it sit until July when the real recall happens. I called the corporate office and spoke with an administrator (OFY). He apologized and explained they were supposed to diagnose my vehicle and if the issue was the recall, call the corporate office to get instructions on the repair. So I had my vehicle towed to Autonation Ford. The service person (David Lewis) called and stated he asked his service manager, Henry and they don't have to service my vehicle and it's just going to sit. I called the corporate office back and spoke with John who called and left a message to service my car. Then Henry (Service Manager) called and explained that the corporate office was lying to me because they were telling them not to repair the vehicles and all the Ford dealerships have cars like mine sitting on their lots. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. I found out about the recall when I was researching how to operate my vehicle. I made an appointment to have the recall repair made on April 5, 2024. On April 8. 2024, the dealer called back the Service Manager stated, "They aren't processing the recalls unless the vehicle is on the side of the road." I called several other dealers and they stated they also would not repair the vehicle. On [XXX], the engine oil pump drive belt tensioner arm fractured and separated from the tensioner backing plate. The oil pump drive belt lost teeth and the car lost engine oil pressure. There was a loss of motive power and a loss of mechanical vacuum pump the vehicle lost all power and shut down. I was sitting at a light in the middle of the street at 11:30 PM. The vehicle could have shut down on the highway. I had just exited the highway, it was late at night and dark. Someone could have run into the back of my vehicle. I had the vehicle towed to Planet Ford in Spring, TX. After negotiating with them they worked on the engine but the car would not start. Then they said it needed a new battery and once installed the vehicle still did not run properly. They stated I needed to pay for a diagnostic because transmission lights are coming on. I refused because the damage was 100% caused by Ford's irresponsibility and neglect. The Recall stated repairs were supposed to be made at no charge. Planet Ford is now saying they have to put in a request to the Ford Corporation to ask if Ford will assist me with the cost of repairs. While driving the vehicle the low engine pressure light appeared, after getting a mile down the road the vehicle came to a complete stop while still in drive and the engine had seized. It would not turn over after the fact. The vehicle was then towed to a dealership were it was diagnosed with a failed oil pump belt. Manufacturer states there is nothing they can do.
I received this safety recall letter in Feb 2024. Have called Rivertown Ford In Columbus ga and they said they don't have the parts nor the approval to do the safety recall. Saturday while in Atlanta my car got a low oil pressure light I pulled over and called Ford they said they don't have approval to fix this recall but I can pay to have it fixed. since my vehicle is broke down. i had to pay 680.00 to get it towed back to my house. The letter said that in the 2nd quarter of the year..which starts April1.supposed to be when they should have parts..so right now my car is not working and I don't have extra money to fix this problem. I will be contacting the BBB about Rivertown Ford in Columbus ga not honoring this recall in a timely manner..my name is [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Powertrain failure, low oil pressure light came on, occurred while driving 70 mph on freeway with moderate traffic my car suddenly decelerated to 35-40 mph with a semi truck behind me almost slamming into me and I couldn’t get the car to accelerate to get the the side of road to safety. Loud engine noise now when car is on, not able to accelerate past 30-40 mph. I feel it is not drivable. All dealerships I call tell me these parts have not been made available yet through the recalls received recall letter 3/29/24 from ford notifying that we would hear when we could schedule service to address this recall. This was first I was notified of this issue and my car had this incident on 4/16/24. Ford dealerships refuse to give me a loaner or fix my car until ford provides the parts . They state they all have 4-5 forced ecosports already waiting to be serviced with same issue

Okay, i got a letter in the mail back in February 2024, a recall letter, and as of April [XXX], 2024 we notice oil on the top on the motor and knocking noise. so we called the Dealership in Showlow Ford. Asking if the recall was due to the oil and knocking noise. So we towed the car to the dealership, and it was ck and they told us it was the recall part and that they did contact the Ford company to found out when the part will be available to replace, and replace the motor, per the ford company they said they are still working on the replacement part. They did offer rental but i cant pay second insurance and that was my car to work and getting to place, I'm still making payments and full cover insurance on it. And I dont think i can wait another 120 days or longer. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

on 3/30/2024 I received a message on my dashboard that "oil pressure failure" was detected. Soon after I lost power from 30mgh to 10mph. When I parked, my engine was sounding like it was knocking and then metal against metal sound. I had my car towed to the Ford dealership that I bought it from and have had it maintained there as well. I was told that the oil pump failed causing catastrophic injury to my engine requiring a new engine. My extended warranty says that there is an advanced recall on the part that failed on my 2020 Ford Ecosport, with 65,000 miles, so they will not pay for my engine to be replaced. Ford Motor has not agreed that it is there fault my engine suffered due to the failed oil pump. So, I have no car, no loaner and no fix other than paying out of pocket nearly 10,000 to replace my engine that Ford Motor may or may not reimburse for.
Receive a recall notice in Feb 2024. On March 30, 2024 vehicle oil light/engine light came on and started to engine noise. Because of the recall, it stated not to drive vehicle if this happens because it could cause an accident. Had vehicle tolled to Titusville Florida dealership on April 1, 2024. Was told that they were going to order parts, but available until 2nd quarter of 2024. Call Ford service customer Claim # CXH02216288. asked for a car to use while waiting for repairs. Dealership told me that I was approved for a rental, but after 4 weeks, I went into dealership to ask about rental and they told me they waiting for one the be available. I had to get other transportation. Received another notice from NHTSA that the parts would not be available until 1st quarter 2025. So I requested for Ford to do a buy out option on my vehicle and I was not approved for a buy out option. It's been almost 4 months at the Ford Service Dept. I request Ford to defer my payments because I will not a vehicle for may be 11 months. So I'm paying my monthly payments plus insurance on a vehicle that may never be repaired.

The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V905000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 MPH the oil pressure warning light illuminated and the vehicle began to decelerate. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the oil was changed although the contact was informed it was not needed. The vehicle was taken to a different independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a damaged wet belt and the contact was informed that a new engine was needed. The vehicle was towed to a different independent mechanic where the engine was replaced. Low oil pressure sensor came on., Took car to get oil changed thinking that would be a quick fix. The car continue to drive rough making a loud knocking sound. Checking engine light, oil light and tool bar light were now on. Took it back to mechanic they said I had 2 camshaft sensors that need replaced. Got the sensors replaced , car did not seem any better. Took it back to mechanic and as I was driving the car lost total power and brakes failed. Mechanic put it on machine and then said the engine and turbo was blown.
The system of my car kept saying that low oil pressure and I was confused because I just got my car oil changed two weeks ago. So I went to Jiffy Lube to get my oil checked. They said it was full and that I had a mass flow light on and they stated that there was something wrong with the oil pressure due to the airflow or something, so then my car stopped on side of the road 2 minutes after I left jiffy lube. I almost got to into a wreck. Someone almost hit my car because my car was accelerating slow, so I had to pay a tow truck to take my car home then I have to pay for a mobile mechanic to come out to my house to see the issue. he said that it was , the vacuum pump, the engine oil pressure was low due to the airflow just like jiffy lube said and also the timing belt or chain tension needed to be replaced. Now I have been without a car for a week and every time I call the dealership they said that there is no parts in stock. I have also called the vehicle safety hotline 1-888-327-4236 and the number is out of service. So I don’t know what to do. I am without a car I don’t know how to rent a car because I don’t have the money for it because I just paid over $600 (Tow truck, oil service and diagnosis test). I don’t know if you guys can trade my car in for something else or give me a loaner car but something has to be done. You guys have to help me out some kind of way due to this recall. This is acceptable especially since I have to Uber my kids to and from school and daycare and I have to Uber myself to work, pick up my kids and home every day. Please contact me as soon as possible [XXX] so this issue can be resolved. Thanks [XXX] . INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Unknown. About two weeks ago my car started periodically not starting. There were no indications of an issue. The car would operate as normal now the car check engine light is on. I have taken it to the dealership knowing about the recall they stated the issue is likely caused by the recall and they will not have the part to fix it until Q3 or Q4 of this year. I have already been stuck away from home 3 times and fear the car is going to shut down while driving. I do not have a nother form of transportation for work and getting my child to school. I can not wait until the end of the year for the vehicle to be fixed and don't want to drive it and risk others safety.

In February, while I was driving on the interstate, I started to lose the ability to control the speed of my car. I pulled over and shut off my car. When I tried to start the car again, it wouldn't start. After I towed it home, I tried jump starting and an error message popped up stating it was the engine oil pump belt tensioner. After speaking with Ford customer service and a Service manager, I was told it could be by August before my car could be fixed.
