The oxygen sensors have been replaced two times but keep getting a signal about them. Engine light stays on. Keep getting different codes about exhaust levels that are triggering different functions. I was stopped at a light and smelled gas briefly. Went to a store and came back to the car with engine light on. Got a oil change and had spark plugs replaced but still nothing was fixed
Low oil pressure warning on dash, engine lost power while driving. Vehicle stalled and would not restart. Oil level was good. Towed to shop and was informed of an oil pump drive belt failure causing internal engine damage and turbocharger failure. No warning lights prior to incident. I am the technician filing this for our customer.

I was driving on Interstate 10 between Casa Grande and Tucson at around 81 mph, and pushed on the accelerator a bit more to get in front of a car when the warning indicator turned on. It said "Low Engine Oil Pressure". Immediately the car lost all acceleration while I was in the left lane. I had to immediately turn on my hazard lights and get to the right lane, while slowly losing speed. I did not feel safe pulling onto the shoulder and there was an exit about a mile away from where it all started so we essentially were cruising, losing speed, to the exit. We pulled into a gas station parking lot while we figured what was going on. This happened while I was driving in the left lane of a 3 lane interstate with a speed limit of 75mph. I believe that our safety was put into risk because of the nature of the location where it happened and how everyone else was going over 75mph while we were trying to get off the freeway safely. After many tows and having to go back to phoenix, we took it to Chapman Ford in Scottsdale. The oil pump belt snapped, causing the engine to run without oil, and damaging the engine to the point where the dealership says it needs to be replaced. The engine sounds different now and there is rattling present. The Service department quotes the replacement at over $7,000 and the car is just outside the powertrain warranty. No support from Ford Corporate as of now when this is being typed. We do not have the money to get the engine replaced at the moment without having to get a loan. There were no warning lights on prior to this happening, and the car has been maintained well. No symptoms either. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer due to the fact that they are recommending an engine replacement. The car is currently at the dealership in Scottsdale. **** Form is not letting me upload files, I am willing to upload some files to help yall with this****
Driving around town and the low oil pressure warning come on the dash and the vehicle had loss of power. The vehicle was parked the oil was full and oil changed was done 2 weeks earlier. No the vehicle sounds load.
On December 18, 2023 I started my vehicle for the day when I noticed the low oil pressure warning come on and off very fast, didn’t think anything of it because it didn’t do it the rest of the day. The next day the same thing happened, very fast flicker of the warning so I made an appointment with the dealer to have it checked out. December 20, 2024 it stayed on longer this time and the red oil indicator came on as well. Dropped it off at the dealer on December 21, 2023 & after testing the issue was the oil pump failing and the vehicle needed an engine replacement at 59,294 miles. The dealer stated the car had no oil pressure, metal flakes in the oil, damage to cam caps and heat scoring. Luckily it was covered under the powertrain warranty or it would have been over $6000 to have repaired. They did however replace it with a remanufactured engine so I assume I’ll be dealing with this issue again once this engine nears 60,000 miles so not too happy about that.

Car became sluggish and loud for a couple days before car indicated oil pressure issue car is now inoperable need fixed but don't have the money because car is still financed with ford and no help with issue was informed its all our responsibility I just want my car fixed or told I'll be reimbursed if I have it repaired myself
After only 6 months of purchasing a 2020 Ecosport and just after the manufacturer warranty expired, the Low Oil Pressure light came on while driving. The Engine lost power and made loud sounds. We had the vehicle towed to a certified mechanic who diagnosed that the engine oil was full of metal shavings and the engine was damaged beyond repair. We had to pay for an entire new motor (over $6000). We called Ford and went to a dealership and they admitted that this was a problem with this model but said they would not help as it had just gone out of warranty. Now, we received notice that there is a recall for this exact issue, (the newly replaced motor still has the same defect part.) Ford has refused to reimburse for the motor that we had to replace, stating that there is no fix yet for the defective part. I am still making payments on the car AND now paying for the replaced motor and labor. Ford has known that this was an issue for a while. **Please hold Ford accountable to make their customers WHOLE by fully reimbursing any customers who have had out of pocket expenses (whether completed at a Ford dealership or a mechanic of their choice) as a result of this issue (regardless of warranty status).

Oil pump failure. Sounded like belt broke and no oil pressure light came on. Immediately cut off vehicle. Called Ford and they say $3500 or more to repair.
While on a 4 hour trip, after about two hours, the car suddenly started alerting "low engine oil pressure". I keep my car maintained, but thought perhaps there was a leak. I went got my oil changed, and still the alert was present. I reduced my speed to get to my closest relative. While getting off the interstate, the brakes malfunctioned. My car is a ford ecosport ecoboost. The ford dealership is saying the engine and the turbo have to be replaced. Once I researched online, I saw that I was not the only person this happened to. I could have died when those brakes malfunctioned. By the grace of God I made to my relative's and they towed my car from there.
At just over 5600 miles low oil pressure light came on while driving . Vehicle lost power and systems including brakes started failing. Managed to get safely off of road. Engine needs to be rebuilt. (barely still under warranty )

The dealer determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: PE23015 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 82,950.
I purchased this vehicle in 2020 and for the first 55,000 miles the car was great and after that it became a nightmar. I was driving one day and and lost power and the car would not accelerate properly I took the car to my dealership and after them having it they said the turbo charger had malfunctioned. The dealer fixed it after paying a $100 deductible. A month or so goes by and the car lost power and the engine was knocking. I called the dealer once again and they came and picked it up. A few days went by and the dealer called and said that the oil pump had failed causing the engine to blow. They said they were going to replace the engine and after several days they called and said my car was finished. I went and picked it up. Since then the car has been back in the shop twice because the wrench light kept coming on and having the same powertrain issues. The second time was just in the past few days to be exact Dec,02,2023 the same problem the wrench light hesitation and no acceleration when hitting the gas pedal the dealership once again told me to bring it in. Today Dec,05 I was told to come In about my car and they informed me the battery and the brake linings were the cause of the wrench light. Doing my own research the wrench light is a sign of powertrain issues. The dealership tells me what they want to tell me because I feel like they are tired of dealing with this issue and it's very disheartening to me because this is my only mode of transportation.

While driving it begins decreasing speed to 40 mph and then loses an acceleration and I drifted to the side of the highway. The low oil pressure message appeared on the dash. I was driving through a very desolate area on 31 in Indiana busy with semis and holiday traffic. The car only has 67,000 miles and the mechanic said it had a bad cylinder and the engine would need to be replaced at $5,700.
MY 2020 FORD ECOSPORT shows the engine symbol and the maintenance symbol and every so often my car wouldnt have power or it would just shut off while im in park while inside the vehicle. at first i thought it was a battery issue so i fully recharged my battery and than less than a month later im experiencing the same issue. i looked online and there is countless claims all stating similar issues like mine. my car has around 35k miles on it. i would greatly appreciated some more knowledge on the situation
I was driving down the highway and a warning light came on “low oil pressure” and I lost complete power and had to pull over along side the road and have my car towed. Once it got to the mechanic shop he said my timing belt shredded and is in my oil and the belt tensioner came off and now my motor/turbo is ruined. He’s been in contact with all of the local ford dealers and we were told this is a common problem with my cars year but I was not aware of this. I am due to have my first child any day now and I can not afford $3000(+) and some of the parts are on backorder per the ford dealership and I have no transportation. I’ve included a few photos that the mechanic sent to me for this report. I can get more if needed.
Oil Pressure loss, possible belt failure.
Purchased the used car in June 2023 with 63k miles. Driving home to TX Nov 2023, low oil pressure outside Houston. Towed car to local Ford dealer. Was told the turbo failed damaging the engine. Bothe turbo & engine must be replaced est $6-7K to repair but over a month back order on engine. Had to rent a truck & tow my car back home to El Paso. Vehicle still not fixed due to cost and backlog on parts. After much research this is a known issue with Ford ecoboost models that they refuse to take responsibility for on the badly designed engine.
I bought a 2020 Ford EcoSport with the 1.0 L engine on Nov. 7, 2020 in Houston, Tx. The car has 67,703 miles. Last night (Nov. 13, 2023 my low oil pressure light came on and then a big clank sound. I got vehicle transported home and researched and seen the Faulty Oil Pump and Belts set up that could’ve severely harm my family, or others if the engine would have seized up while driving. I took my vehicle into a Ford in Simi Valley, Ca sometime between summer/fall 2022 because I had a lower power indication on the vehicle at around 50 something thousand miles to see what was wrong. The service agent told that they fixed the power sensor due the elevation difference from Texas to California and I live in the valley. And it was covered under warranty, but they failed to inform me of this sensor was the beginning warning of faulty belt system, that the oil pump belt was rubber and it runs through the oil constantly and you should thinking about changing that now or next time. Nothing was mentioned, my Ford app would send me monthly updates and it would say Drive- Train is Ok, only lower tire pressure. I have called around to multiple Fords and mechanics and they said the same think oil pump issue, and Ford told me because I’m 7,000 miles over my warranty I am no longer cover and I am responsible for the services, and I am a single mom of 4 in Ca alone, that was my means of transportation, I can’t afford that cost. Especially when I was not made aware of this serious default. That is completely unacceptable as this is a 3 year vehicle that was well maintained, and the Ford Company and their Service staff are well aware of this issue which could’ve severely harm or even killed my family or others on the road if the engine seized up while on the highway, so they say nothing close to my warranty expired and then they are no longer responsible. Extremely irresponsible, and unacceptable from a reputable vehicle manufacturing company.

Lost power to my car. Took it to get look at and they told me oil pump pressure belt quit working and caused major engine problems. It tore up the engine as well as the turbo and now I need awhole new engine. I am now paying for a car that I can't drive. Ford told me they can't help me because my warranty just ran out.
My husband was driving when both the oil light and the engine light came on. He lost power. Thankfully he was on a road with no traffic. The oil pump is not working. The engine needs to be replaced only after 3 years. Took it to the dealership, they told him that the engine would need to be replaced. He was then told he could drive it back home, he was in a different county than what we live. We took it to a non dealership shop and they told us the same thing. Called Ford, they told me there was nothing that they could do. I have $12,549 left to pay so a trade in is out of the question. Please help
The contact owns a 2020 Ford Ecosport. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and decelerated to below 60 MPH independently. The low oil pressure and check engine warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who determined that the oil pump had failed, causing damage to the engine, and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, who confirmed the diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 74,000.
I was driving to work and a flashing light came on that said low oil pressure. the car then lost it's power and started to lag down. The cars behind me started breaking and almost hit the back of my car. I finally pulled over on the side of the road. My car is not that old. It should not be having this issue.
Teenage was driving home from school when the oil pump failed and the engine stalled out cause lost of power to the car and would not start back up she could of been seriously injured if it was not for being right next to a driveway when it happened. This is all over the Internet about how the engine is destroying itself from the inside out. Cannot believe there has not been a recall on this.
My engine light keeps coming on. I have received no notice from the dealer that there is a recall.
The contact owns a 2020 Ford EcoSport. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, there was a rattling sound coming from the engine, and the vehicle would not properly accelerate. Additionally, the oil pressure and service engine warning lights remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the turbo charger and the catalytic converter, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced but parts were not available. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V905000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 53,000.
I replaced the battery on October 31, 2023. Everything seemed fine. While I was driving, the car sounded a bit rough, and there was more vibration. Later that evening, I took my car out and then I got a low oil pressure alert. Turns out that I had an oil pump failure that also led to my engine, needing to be rebuilt. The dealership is attempting to charge me $6400.35 for repairs, which also happen to be on back order until December 14, 2023. I had previously gotten a check engine light alert, and the error code was about the emission system. I replaced the relevant part, and the error code was cleared. Then the check engine light came on again. Sometime later once again, it was the same error code. I replaced the part a second time, and the error code eventually went off. Sometime later, it came back on yet again. I had a mechanic do a smoke test. There was no leak in the emission system. He then reset the code again during this time of trouble, my car would not restart after doing an auto stop after becoming idle. I had to manually restart the car when this happened. Sometime after the smoke test, I drove the car to Colorado and back. A couple of days after I got back, the check engine light turned on again. I also noticed that it was getting kind of hard to start the car. It had difficulty turning over. Late October I went out of town for a few days. After I came back, I had trouble starting the car. It would not turn over at all. On October 31 I replaced the battery. And after that is when the low oil pressure problem started. I am without a car, and I am at the mercy of car rentals. I don’t have any other job except driving for Uber. Of course, this happened after the powertrain warranty expired.
Check engine light came on dash on Tueday and Thursday morning was notified of needing a new engine due to some type of blowback. Should not need a new engine on a 3 year old vehicle with proper oil changes done
Driving down the road and Low Oil Pressure Light comes on car loses all power had to coast to try to get off the road got to a stop. The ford app shows power train malfunction ended up having it towed to a Ford dealership
I have a 2020 Ford EcoSport that was 3 years old and had 84000 miles on it. As I was driving down the highway I lost all oil pressure and the engine seized up. As I was 47 miles away from home I became stuck in the side of the road upon taking it to a local mechanic they reported the oil pump chain has failed and the entire engine will need to be rebuilt. The car had had all usual repairs and maintenance and regular oil changes

Going 55 mph down a local 2 lane road, I received a low oil pressure warning followed by loud knocking of the engine. I had to stop the car and have it towed home. Car has 76,000 miles on it and the oil level is perfect. Dealership blames oil pump failure, resulting in a new engine. Seems to be a reoccurring issue with the EcoSports
