VEHICLE IN MOTION ON CITY ROAD WHEN VEHICLE ALL OF A SUDDEN MAKES LOUD/HARD CLANK NOISE AND IMMEDIATELY LOSES POWER - ALMOST LIKE IT STARTED TOWING A TRAILER! LOSS OF POWER, WRENCH LIGHT, TPS LIGHT, AIRBAG LIGHT ALL COME ON, SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING. PULLED OVER, LOUD/HARD CLANK SOUND WITH EVERY GEAR CHANGE P-2. VEHICLE HAD DISPLAYED NO ISSUES PRIOR TO THIS. DROPPED VEHICLE OFF AT MECHANIC, WHEN HE LOOKED AT IT NEXT MORNING, VEHICLE IS RUNNING PERFECT. I AM GREATLY CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT APPEARS TO BE A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE WITH THIS CAR. THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE TO BE FOUND ALL OVER THE INTERNET WITH NO FIXES KNOWN. FORD NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL AND FIX THIS ASAP BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY HURT OR IS KILLED FROM THE EXTREME LOSS OF POWER THE VEHICLE IS SUFFERING FROM WHEN THIS HAPPENS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SPUTTERED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS GASOLINE LEAKING FROM THE FUEL TANK. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KEITH WHITE FORD (2102 VETERANS BLVD, MCCOMB, MS 39648) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE TECHNICIAN THAT NOTHING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS RELATING THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V682000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 17,324.
DRIVING GOING ABOUT 50 MPH ON COUNTY HIGHWAY. STARTING LOSING ALL POWER TO VEHICLE, WITH A VEHICLE BEHIND ME ALSO GOING AT LEAST 50 MPH. PUT HAZARD LIGHTS ON RIGHT AWAY, MADE IT TO A DRIVE WAY AND LIGHTS WERE DIMING, NO POWER, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WHEN TRYING TO EXCEL SPEED, THERE WAS NONE. TOOK TO AUTO SHOP TO FIND OUT THAT IT IS THE POWER CONTROL MODULE. SEEMS LIKE THIS IS A FREQUENT PROBLEM AND NEEDS THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THIS.
AFTER I FILLED UP MY GAS TANK TWO DAYS LATER WHEN THE CAR PARKED.. I NOTICE A STRONG GAS SMELL NEAR THE REAR LEFT TIRE. I LOOKED DOWN TO FOUND OUT IT WAS THE GAS TANK LEAKING FROM THE TOP. 2007 FORD EDGE GAS TANK LEAKS
MAKES NOSIES WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS AND ABS AND SUSPENSION LIGHTS COME ON WHEN THIS HAPPEN.
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER AND I IMMEDIATELY TRIED TO PULL OUT OF THE MAIN PATH OF TRAFFIC. I HAD IT TOWED TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP TO DETERMINE CAUSE. IT IS THE TRANSMISSION. I REPLACED IT WITH A USED UNIT FROM A SIMILAR VEHICLE, OF WHICH I HAVE ENCOUNTERED A SIMILAR ISSUES. A REPLACEMENT OF THIS UNIT IS ALSO PRODUCING A PROBLEM. IT IS NOW AT THE FORD DEALER'S GARAGE AND I AM TOLD IT IS A TRANSMISSION. PROBLEM. THIS VEHICLE HAS 75K MILES AND I HAVE MAINTAINED IT TO THE COMPLY WITH FORD'S SPECS. BUT, THREE TRANSMISSIONS IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME... SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT???
FOR 2-3 WEEKS, SMELLED GAS VAPORS WHEN WE GOT NEAR THE CAR TO GO SOMEWHERE. I GOT UNDER THE CAR AND TOOK A PHOTO OF A RUST SPOT WITH GAS STAINING NEAR IT. IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS PART OF A RECALL (14V682000) BUT OUR CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED. WHEN I ASKED THE DEALER ABOUT IT THEY SAID THEY TOOK CARE OF THE RECALL ON ONE OF OUR PREVIOUS VISITS. I HAD TO PAY FOR A NEW GAS TANK.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD I NOTICED MY SPEED AT 0 MY ODOMETER AT 0...THOUGHT THAT WAS WEIRD. NOTICED WRENCH LIGHT, ENGINE LIGHT,AND AIRBAG LIGHT. CAME TO A STOP LIGHT AND STOPPED. UPON TAKEOFF WAS NEARLY REAR ENDED BECAUSE I WAS BARELY CREEPING.. RPMS STAYED AROUND 2K-3K..... PULLED IT INTO A PARKING LOT AND SWITCHED GEARS....LOUD CLANGS AND JERKS AS I'M SHIFTING. TURNED OFF CAR AND RESTARTED TO HAVE THE SAME LIGHTS AND SAME CLANKS AS I'M SHIFTING. I PULL OUT OF THE PARKING LOT SINCE I'M A MILE AWAY FROM HOME AND EVEN THOUGH I PULLED OUT WITH PLENTY OF TIME I WAS ALMOST TBONED. GOT IT HOME AND SHUT IT DOWN. I HAVE AROUND 255,000 MILES ON IT. OILS CHANGED. MAINTENANCE UPKEEP AND EVERYTHING. THIS ALL HAPPENED ON CITY STREETS, WHILE IN MOTION AND SITTING STILL. I SERIOUSLY DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW FORD IS ALLOWED TO OVERLOOK THIS AND NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING THESE VERY WELL KNOWN ISSUES THAT ARE A HAZARD TO DRIVERS....NOT JUST TO MYSELF BUT TO OTHERS AROUND ME AS WELL. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON EXITING THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL FUEL ODOR OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND BECAME AWARE OF A FUEL LEAK UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE CAUSED BY A RUST ALONG THE SEAM OF THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOB BELL FORD (7125 RITCHIE HWY, GLEN BURNIE, MD 21061) WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V682000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS VISUALLY INSPECTED AS PART OF THE RECALL PROCESS IN NOVEMBER OF 2018 AND THERE WERE NO DEFECTS DETECTED AT THE TIME. THE RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER WAS THEN REMOVED FROM THE VIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND A CASE WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 138,000.
TOOK TO LOCAL FORD DEALER (HONDRU FORD) FOR SHUDDER/JERKING BETWEEN 40/60 MPH , THE ISSUE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED BY THE DEALER BUT IT CONTINUES TO BE A PROBLEM. FROM MY ONLINE RESEARCH THERE ARE OTHER COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE SAME ISSUES. THE FORD EDGE IS SERVICED ROUTINELY ,OIL CHANGE ETC. *TR
The booster went out needs replaced and on other sites it said it is recalled
FORD EDGE LOUD CLUNK WHEN PUT INTO GEAR AN WHEN IN GEAR YOU HAVE TO PUT IT TO THE FLOOR TO GET THE CAR TO MOVE AN REALLY HIGH RPM. DASH LIGHTS WILL COME ON FLASH AN ACT ALL CRAZY. FASTER TO WALK CUZ THE CAR WON'T GO. WILL DO IT AT A STOP OR JUST RANDOM GOING DOWN THE ROAD. HAVE TO GET OFF THE ROAD QUICK OR IT WILL STOP I THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. *TR
WHILE TRAVELING FROM WORK TO HOME HAD A LOST OF POWER AND STARTED MAKING NOISE UPFRONT SO PULLED OVER AND CHECKED EVERYTHING AND IT WAS FINE FLUIDS CHECKED REGULARLY AND WAS TOLD IT COULD BE A PTU PROBLEM AND IT HAS THE JERKING AND SOMETIMES YOU HEAR A CHAIN NOISE AND SOUNDS LIKE A SLAPPING SOUND. HAS SOMETHING LEAKING UP BY TRANNY PRETTY SURE ITS THE PTU CAUSE THAT'S EXACTLY WHERE'S IT'S LOCATED AND HAVE READ LOTS OF THINGS ONLINE AND EVERYTHING. THEIR SHOULD REALLY BE RECALL FOR THE PTU UNIT BEFORE SOMEONE MAJORLY GETS HURT CAUSE OF THE LOSS OF POWER ALL OF SUDDEN WHEN TRAVELING. WAS TRAVELING HIGHWAY HOME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE RIGHT FRONT STRUT MOUNT FRACTURED AND PIERCED THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO THE DASHBOARD. THERE WAS NO WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT IT WAS AN UNUSUAL FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 136,000.
DRIVER SIDE TAIL LIGHT BULB KEEPS GOING OUT. THE SOCKET APPEARS TO BE MELTED/CHARRED. I HAVE HAD THE BULB REPLACED THREE TIMES IN LESS THAN A YEAR. EVERY TIME THE BULB GOES OUT, MY BRAKE LIGHT IS AFFECTED AND I GET PULLED OVER AND ISSUED A FIX-IT TICKET BY THE POLICE.
TAILLIGHT WAS INOPERATIVE, PASSENGER SIDE, ALONG WITH DIRECTIONAL SIGNAL. THINKING IT WAS A BURNED OUT BULB, I REMOVED THE TAIL LIGHT CONNECTOR FROM THE PLASTIC HOUSING. I NOTICED THAT THE BULB HAD TOTALLY FUZED ITSELF TO THE CONNECTOR. WHILE THE BULB FILAMENTS APPEAR INTACT, THE BULB AND CONNECTOR HAD GENERATED ENOUGH HEAT TO ESSENTIALLY MELT THE BASE OF THE BULB TO THE CONNECTOR INTO ONE UNIT. ODDLY ENOUGH, WHEN LOOKING FOR THE CAUSE OF WHY SO MUCH HEAT WOULD BE GENERATED, I GOOGLED "CAR TAIL LIGHT CONNECTOR AND BULB MELTED". SURPRISE SURPRISE, I WAS DIRECTED TO THE FORD EDGE FORUM WHERE THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON COMPLAINT. NATURALLY, I NEEDED TO GET THIS FIXED QUICKLY AND MY HUSBAND WAS GOING TO THE SALVAGE YARD FOR UNRELATED PARTS, SO I ASKED HIM TO SEE IF HE COULD FIND A CONNECTOR, SINCE THIS PARTICULAR ITEM WAS COMMON TO MANY, MANY FORD AND MERCURY VEHICLES. HE FOUND T FORD FOCUS' THAT USED THIS CONNECTOR, AND BOUGHT THEM. OF NOTE, THE TWO CONNECTORS (1 WAS A "SPARE") HE BROUGHT HOME WERE BOTH SHOWING SIGNS OF DISCOLORATION OF THE PLASTIC ON THE CONNECTOR. THE FORUMS SAY FORD HAS NEGATIVE KNOWLEDGE OF THIS, BUT YOU GOTTA WONDER. DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE POOR QUALITY OF THE CHEAP PLASTIC RETAINER CLIP USED TO KEEP THE WIRING HARNESS CONNECTED TO THE CONNECTOR. I REMOVED FOUR UNITS. ALL FOUR RETAINER CLIPS BROKE OR DISINTEGRATED. MY FEAR IT THE POTENTIAL OF A FIRE HAZARD AND SIGNIFICANT ELECTRICAL FAILURE AS THIS IS NOT A SIMPLE BULB REPLACEMENT. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. I DO HAVE THE BULB IN QUESTION IF YOU NEED ME TO SEND IT IN.
The contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge. The contact stated while attempting to accelerate, there was an abnormal humming sound coming from the engine compartment. The contact stated that the vehicle would not immediately accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. On several occasions, the transmission failed to shift into the proper gear, causing the vehicle to stall. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle operated in LIMP Mode. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 225,000.
I JUST HAD NEW BRAKES PUT ON MY CAR. A FEW DAYS AFTER THE BRAKES WERE VERY SPONGY AND FELT LIKE THEY WOULD NOT WORK. THEY ALSO MADE A LOUD HIGH PITCHED NOISE. MY MECHANIC LOOKED MY CAR OVER AND SAID IT WAS THE BRAKE BOOSTERS.
LEAKING GAS, WHEELS FEELS LIKE ITS WOBBLES, STEERING IS HUMMING, SEAT BELTS STRAP LOCK AND YOU HAVE NO MOMENT.

THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 218,000.
CAR RUNNING ROUGH USING TWICE AS MUCH GAS AS USUAL CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BLINKING CODE READER SAID MISFIRE CYLINDER 1 MISFIRE CYLINDER 4 THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME OR THE SECOND IT IS NOW THE THIRD TIME THAT ALL 6 IGNITION COILS AND SPARK PLUGS HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND THE BRAIN FOR THE SECOND TIME BECAUSE IT SHUTS OFF WHILE YOU'RE DRIVING WITH NO MORNING AND THE PARTS ALL TOGETHER $900 FOR A BRAIN $86 FOR EACH IGNITION COIL PLUS THE SPARK PLUGS PLUS THE LABOR INVOLVED NOW THE VEHICLE GOT SO HOT IT NEEDS CATALYTIC CONVERTERS WON'T PASS A SMOG

THE BRAKE BOOSTER FAILURE
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION FOR AWHILE, CAR WAS RUNNING OKAY UNTIL I CAME TO A STOPLIGHT AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR GOES LIMP. MY VEHICLE MAKES LOUD/HARD CLANK NOISE. LOSS OF POWER, WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. PULLED OVER, LOUD/HARD CLANK SOUND WITH EVERY GEAR CHANGE P-2. VEHICLE HAD DISPLAYED NO ISSUES PRIOR TO THIS. I AM ABLE TO PULL THE CAR OVER, TURN IT OFF AND TAKE THEY KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION. THEN THE WRENCH LIGHT IS OFF WHEN I RESTART THE CAR. STAYS IN LOW GEAR FOR A LONG TIME WHEN I START TO ACCELERATE, AND UNTIL VEHICLE EVENTUALLY ACCELERATES FASTER, OTHER CARS ALMOST RUNNING INTO THE BACK OF MY CAR SINCE MY CAR IS NOT ACCELERATING AT A NORMAL PACE. I AM GREATLY CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT APPEARS TO BE A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE WITH THIS CAR. THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE TO BE FOUND ALL OVER THE INTERNET. DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 60MPH AND SUDDENLY MY SPEEDOMETER AND GAUGES ALL SHUT DOWN. JUST AS FAST AS IT WENT OFF IT CAME BACK ON AGAIN. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH THE FORD EDGE. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A SEVERE ISSUE WITH THE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND SOMETHING NEEDS FIXED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED!
THE WRENCH LIGHT AND AIRBAG LIGHTS WERE ON. MY SPEEDOMETER WASN'T WORKING. TRANSMISSION WAS CLUNKING. THE POWERTRAIN (WRENCH) & SERVICE ENGINE SIGNALS COME ON AFTER EXPERIENCING LOSS OF SPEED SUCH AS AFTER A TRAFFIC LIGHT STOP. WE HAVE TO PUSH DOWN FAR ON THE GAS PEDAL JUST TO MOVE AND THIS IS FOLLOWED BY ROUGH SHIFTING (MAKES A SUDDEN JERK AND LOUD THUD SOUND). EVERYTHING GOES BACK TO NORMAL FOR AWHILE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF; ITS LIKE THE CAR RESETS ITSELF.
MY CAR WAS RUNNING ROUGH USING MORE GAS GOT A COIL CODE FOR MY NUMBER 1 COIL.BCHANGED PLUGS ETC.. STILL RUNNING BAD. TOOK IT TO FORD PUT ON THERE COMPUTER AND IT CAME BACK AS THE PCM. WHICH CAN CAUSE YOUR CAR TO CATCH FIRE TO STOP SUDDENKY IN MIDDLE OF ROAD USE WAY MORE GAS RUIN ALL OF YOUR PLUGS AND COILS AGAIN. WHY WOULD FORD NOT FIX THIS PROBLEM?WHY IS THIS A PROBLEM?WHAT IF SOMEONE DIES? THEN WHAT? I HAVE REICIEPTS UPON RECIIEPTS. WHY ARE WE THE CONSUMERS THE ONE WHO HAS TO PAY FOR YOUR FAULTS. I USE MY CAR FOR WORK. I TAKE CARE OF MY CARS AND DRIVE THEM LIKE A LADY SHOULD. NO ROUGH BUSINESS IN MY CAR. NOW I CANT DRIVE CAR BECAUSE YOUR PCM NEW IS 1000 . THIS WILL FOREVER DISCOURAGE ME FROM BUYING ANOTHER FORD. I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW YOU CAN JUST IGNORE WHAT IS GOING ON WITH ALOT OF FORD EDGES. ONE WOULD THINK THAT YOUR REPUTATION WOULD BE IMPORTANT TO YOU. IT IS NOT THE DRIVER OR OWNERS FAULT IT IS WHOMEVER MADE THESE COMPUTERS. IT HAPPENS TO EDGES WITH LOW TO HIGH MILES. IT DOESNT MATTER. ITS FAULTY COMPUTER THAT YOU NEED TO CARE OF.

UPON INSPECTION, THE OWNER OBSERVED FUEL LEAKING FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NORTHGATE FORD (8940 COLERAIN AVE, CINCINNATI, OH) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE FUEL TANK AND THE TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V682000 (FUEL SYSTEM) IN 2016, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
WHILE I WAS OUT DRIVING TO GET MY INSPECTION DONE MY CAR WOULD NOT STOP THE BRAKES WERE VERY HARD TO PUSH LIKE I WAS STANDING UP ON IT SO I'VE WENT TO GO GET THE BRAKES REPLACE BEFORE THE INSPECTION AND THE BRAKES WERE STILL HARD TO PUSH THAT'S WHEN THE MACHANIC HAD TRIED AND INFORMED ME THAT IT'S NOT THE BRAKES AND MY CAR IS UNABLE TO STOP EVEN DRIVING AT A VERY LOW SPEED MY CAR WAS CLOSE TO OVER TURNING DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO STOP WITH NEW BREAKS THAT'S WHEN I WAS INFORMED IT'S THE BREAK BOOSTER

THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROADWAY, OPENED THE WINDOWS TO ELIMINATE SMOKE ODOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SEAL LEAKED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE DEALER (BERGLUND FORD, 834 E MAIN ST, SALEM, VA 24153 (540) 389-7291) WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO ANY RECALLS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE WARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY FOR THE 3RD TIME THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR JUST STARTED SLOWING DOWN. FORD STATES THAT THE PTU HAS A LIFETIME OIL AND DOES NOT NEED CHANGED YET THE UNIT IS LOCATED SO CLOSE TO EXHAUST THAT THE OIL TURNS TO SLUDGE, THERE IS NO PLUG TO CHECK FLUID CONDITIONS THERE IS NO WAY TO FLUSH AND OR REFILL. THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO REPLACE THE PTU BUT HOW DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION WAS CAUSED? NO ONE KNOWS BECAUSE ITS SUPPOSEDLY A LIFETIME OIL AND THE DANGEROUS HEATING CONDITIONS OF THE PLACEMENT OF THE PTU HEATS THE OIL USELESS AND THE CAUSES DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION. DEPENDING ON THE AMOUNT OF DAMAGE ASSESSED UPON REMOVAL, YOU MAY NEED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION. I DO NOT HAVE ANY DOCUMENTATION ATTACHED BECAUSE I HAVE POURED SO MUCH MONEY INTO TRYING TO ISOLATE AND DIAGNOSE I NOW CANT AFFORD TO HAVE THIS VERY EXPENSIVE PROBLEM FIXED. THIS HAS A POOR DESIGN AND SHOULD BE REPLACED BY THE MANUFACTURE.
FUEL LEAK AND MAJOR WATER CORROSION TO UNDERCARRIAGE OF CAR. TRIED TO GET WHEEL BARRINGS DONE AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD HAVE TO BE WELDED OFF AND ON. I AM STILL PAYING ON THIS CAR AND IT IS UNSAFE. THEY PRICED THIS CAR AT 10000 WITH FINANCE CHARGE WHEN I WAS TOLD THE CAR WAS 6500 I PUT 1500 DOWN PLUS 746 MAKE UP DOWNPAYMENT. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
THE WATER PUMP ON THIS VEHICLE IS LOCATED IN A POSITION THAT REQUIRES A FULL AND EXPENSIVE REMOVAL OF THE ENGINE TO EVEN CHECK ON IT. MANUAL HAS NO WATER PUMP MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE. THE WATER PUMP HAS FAILED INTERNALLY AND DUMPS COOLANT INTO THE ENGINE AND OIL PAN. THERE IS NO WAY TO KNOW THIS IS COMING OR HAS HAPPENED UNTIL YOUR ENGINE OVERHEATS. BY THAT POINT THE COOLANT HAS ALREADY RUN THROUGH MY ENGINE AND CAUSED IRREVERSIBLE DAMAGE THAT REQUIRES A COMPLETE ENGINE REPLACEMENT. FORD IS AND HAS BEEN AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING.

LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH. SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING, WARNING LIGHTS -PICTURE OF WRENCH LIGHT, TIRE PRESSURE CAME ON. SAID DATA ------ FAILURE. IT WAS TERRIFYING. MADE IT TO A PARKING LOT. TURNED OFF CARE & LET IT SIT A FEW MINUTES. RESTARTED AND IT WAS BACK TO NORMAL. MY RESEARCH ON LINE SAYS IT'S THE POWERTRAIN MODULE.
