MELTED REAR DIRECTIONAL SOCKET. IT IS THE THIRD TIME I HAVE TO CHANGE THE LIGHT BULB. *TR
AROUND 57,900 MILES, A CLICKING SOUND APPEARED WHENEVER THE WHEEL WAS TURNED TO THE LEFT MORE THAN HALF WAY. THE SOUND BECAME PROGRESSIVELY LOUDER OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS. THE SOUND ONLY OCCURRED IN LEFT TURNS AND THE SOUND CAME FROM THE RIGHT FRONT. THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A FAILED BEARING IN THE RIGHT CV SHAFT. REPLACEMENT OF THE SHAFT COST $600. ACCORDING TO THE SHOP, THIS IS AN UNUSUAL FAILURE FOR A CAR OF THIS MILEAGE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING OUT OF HIS GARAGE IN REVERSE THE VEHICLE STOPPED MOVING AND HE WAS UNABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER TRAIN UNIT BURNED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,000. UPDATED 7/18/12 *CN THE CONSUMER STATED AFTER WAITING TWO MONTHS FOR THE PART, HE INSTEAD PURCHASED A USED PART. THE VECHILE LOSS POWER AND STALLED OUT. AFTER THAT THE CAR ON THE SECOND OCCURRENCE WON"T START HAD TO CHARGE BATTERY THE CAR RACED WHILED IDLING AND HAD NO POWER TO RUN. WENT BACK TO THE DEALER AND ARE UNABLE TO FIND ANY PROBLEM. SO WE ARE NOW STUCK WITH A CAR THAT WILL SHUT DOWN AND LOSE ALL POWER WHICH IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE DO TO THE FACT THAT IF WE DROVE IT AT NIGHT AND STALLS OUT WE LOSE ALL POWER AND WITH NO POWER THE OTHER CARS MAY RUN INTO US AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WHICH WE ARE UNABLE TO PREVENT. I WAS IN DRIVE AND STOPPED AT A LIGHT ON A HILL WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE I STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS. IT DIDN'T STOP ROLLING UNTIL I PUT MY FOOT BACK ON THE BRAKE. *TR

BRAKES FADE, BECOME MUSHY, PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR. DOES NOT STOP AT LIGHTS SOMETIMES CAUSING ME TO PUT IN PARK WHILE MOVING. *TR
THE AUDIO SYSTEM IN MY 2008 EDGE CONTAINS A GPS AND SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO AS WELL AS THE NORMAL OPTIONS. ONE MORNING, THE SIRIUS RADIO RECEPTION WAS DEGRADED TO THE POINT THAT THE SIGNAL COULD ONLY BE HEARD WEAKLY AT FULL VOLUME. I WORKED THROUGH THE DIAGNOSTICS WITH SIRIUS AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A FORD HARDWARE PROBLEM. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE FORD DEALER, WHO CHARGED ME $98 TO RUN A DIAGNOSTIC THAT POINTED TO A BROKEN ANTENNA MOUNT ASSEMBLY, WITH A PRICE TAG OF $600 BEFORE LABOR. I DID NOT ACCEPT THE OFFER. TWO WEEKS LATER, THE PROBLEM SUDDENLY RESOLVED ITSELF AND RECEPTION RETURNED TO NORMAL. AT NO TIME DURING THIS PROCESS DID I MESS WITH THE CONNECTIONS TO THE RECEIVER (IN THE SPARE TIRE COMPARTMENT) OR THE "ANTENNA" THAT SITS ON THE SPOILER.
THE POWER TAKE OFF UNIT (TRANSFER CASE) DEVELOPED A LEAK ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE. THE LEAK DRIPS ONTO THE EXHAUST PIPE CREATING SMOKE AND AN AWFUL SMELL. THIS COULD RESULT IN A FIRE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE WAS A STRONG BURNING ODOR INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE CARBURETOR AND THE FUEL LINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V682000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. I HAVE TAKEN THIS EDGE TO THE FORD DEALER 3 TIMES BECAUSE OF SURGING AND THE RPM'S SURGING, CLUNKING, ETC. ALL THREE TIMES WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT, NOW AT 80,000 IT HAS COMPLETELY LOST POWER AND THE TAC REVS TO 3 AND 4. I'M SOOOO FRUSTRATED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND AFTER 3 VISITS WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT, WE ARE LOOKING AT TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT!! *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND A FAILURE CODE WAS LOCATED AT THE BATTERY WIRES. THE DEALER REPLACED THE BATTERY AND ADJUSTED THE WIRES; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE BATTERY FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO STALL. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER REQUESTING INFORMATION ON NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V128000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED VERY SLOWLY FROM STOPS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON FIFTEEN OCCASIONS, BUT THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE A FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS FINALLY INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EQUIPPED WITH INCORRECT CAM PHASERS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS AGAIN TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE AXLE AND WHEEL BEARINGS WERE DAMAGED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THIS MAY BE THE CAUSE OF THE POOR ACCELERATION FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS AGAIN REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
MY VEHICLE IS A 2008 AND IT ONLY HAS 109,000 MILES ON IT AND I STARTED TO HEAR A WHINING SOUND, BROUGHT IT TO THE AUTO MECHANIC AND THEY SAID THAT IT MIGHT BE SOMETHING IN THE TRANSMISSION SUCH AS A BEARING. WELL TO MY SURPRISE THEY TRANSMISSION DEALER ADVISED ME THAT I NEEDED A WHOLE NEW TRANSMISSION. TRANSMISSIONS ARE SUPPOSED TO LAST A LONG TIME AND THIS IS VERY UNEXPECTED. $3800.00 FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION. I HAVE ALWAYS HEARD A CLUNKING SOUND COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION WHEN IT SHIFTED GEARS OR WHEN I PUT IN IN REVERSE. *KB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (OLATHE FORD LINCOLN, 1845 E. SANTA FE STREET, OLATHE, KS 66062) AND THE SOFTWARE WAS UPDATED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 78,000.
AFTER STARTING CAR, VEHICLE MADE LOUD CLUNK SOUND WHEN PUT IN REVERSE. CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WITHOUT PRESSING ACCELERATOR MORE THAN USUAL AND ENGINE REVVED HIGH. DASH BOARD WENT BLANK EXCEPT FOR WRENCH SYMBOL, AIRBAG SYMBOL AND ODOMETER HAD ALL DASHES. TURNED CAR OFF, WAITED A FEW MINUTES, TURNED CAR BACK ON AND EVERYTHING WAS BACK TO NORMAL, CAR DROVE FINE. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 5 TIMES WITHIN THE PAST 3 YEARS, SEVERAL MONTHS APART. HAVE ALSO HAD TO REPLACE REAR TAIL LIGHTS MULTIPLE TIMES, SOMETIMES WITHIN 2 DAYS OF REPLACEMENT. HAVE TAKEN CAR TO FORD SERVICE, BUT THEY CAN'T PINPOINT PROBLEM. NOW CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY. SEEMS LIKE IT COULD BE ELECTRICAL OR SENSORS. HAVE READ AND SEEN VIDEOS OF MANY OTHERS WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL. WISH FORD WOULD HELP OWNERS LIKE OURSELVES WITH A RECALL TO FIX THIS, AS OUR LOYALTY HAS GONE AWAY WITH FRUSTRATION. HAVE JUST TODAY, 03/27/14 HAD MY CAR TOWED TO REPAIR SHOP TO CHECK TRANSMISSION. THE DASHBOARD HAS RETURNED TO NORMAL, BUT LOUD CLUNK WHEN SHIFTING AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE WITHOUT FLOORING IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT OCCASIONALLY WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS THE VEHICLE WOULD CHANGE GEARS VIOLENTLY, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LUNGE FORWARD ABNORMALLY. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WERE NO FAILURES WITHIN THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 41,000.
WHENEVER YOU ACCELERATE, THE TRANSMISSION BEGINS TO JERK. THE POWER TRAIN PROBLEM INDICATOR LIGHT WILL COME ON AND GO OFF. THE CAR FREQUENTLY JERKS. *TR
I BOUGHT MY 2008 BRAND NEW. AT 39,000MI I TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AFTER NOTICING THE TRANSMISSION LAGGING, SLIPPING, LOUD VERY HARD SHIFTS. ALSO WAS PARKING AT THE GROCERY STORE WHEN I PULLED INTO SPOT, WITH FOOT ON THE BREAK CAR LURCHED AND ENGINE REVVED. IF IT HADN'T HAD MY FOOT ON BREAK IT COULD HAVE HIT SOMEONE. OF COURSE DEALERSHIP COULDN'T REPLICATE, WAS TOLD TO BRING BACK WHEN IT DIDN'T IT MORE REGULARLY. AT 59,000 I TOOK IT BACK IN AFTER SEVER TIMES OF LOUD/HARD SHIFT AND JERKING LIKE I HAD BEEN REAR ENDED BY SOMETHING. AS WELL AS BEING ON A ROAD TRIP WHERE IT FELT LIKE IT SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR AND THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. I PULLED TO SIDE OF ROAD AND CALLED FORD. THEY SAID TO TURN CAR OFF AND BACK ON. WRENCH LIGHT WENT OFF AND CAR SEEMED FINE. THEN WHILE ON INTERSTATE IT REVVED REALLY HIGH AGAIN BUT CAR FELT LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL, IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE WHEN I PUSHED THE GAS. PULLED OFF AGAIN AND CUT OFF AND BACK ON AND IT SEEMED FINE. DEALERSHIP WAS ABLE TO REPLICATE, BUT RESULTS INCONCLUSIVE. WAS TOLD TO BRING BACK IF HAPPENED AGAIN. AT 83,000 IT IS BACK IN, IT HAS BEEN LOUDLY SHIFTING WITH THE BIG JERK LIKE BEFORE THIS TIME MORE FREQUENTLY AND ALSO WAS COMING OFF EXIT RAMP OF INTERSTATE AND AT STOP LIGHT, CAR WAS IN DRIVE,BUT WOULDN'T GO, FELT LIKE IT WAS SITTING IN NEUTRAL AGAIN. DEALERSHIP HAS HAD IT FOR 3 DAYS AND FOUND METAL SHAVINGS IN TRANSMISSION. WILL NOT CONFIRM THIS IS COVERED BY WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH IT IS AN EXISTING ISSUE. CAN NOT PROMISE FOR WILL HONOR REPAIR. WANTS TO RIP OUT MY TRANSMISSION TO SEE WHAT PROBLEM IS, BUT WONT GIVE ME ANY KIND OF ESTIMATE AS TO COST. ONLY SAID FORD WOULD "ASSIST" BUT COULDN'T TELL ME HOW MUCH. I HAVE READ HUNDREDS OF SIMILAR ISSUES ONLINE OF THE EXACT SAME ISSUES. SEEMS LIKE FORD WOULD HAVE RECALLED THIS ALREADY. THIS IS NOT ONLY AN ISSUE OF A FAULTY TRANSMISSION, BUT ALSO A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AS WELL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 60 MPH WHEN THE POWER STEERING FUNCTION FAILED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT ABLE TO STEER BECAUSE THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO MERGE TO THE SHOULDER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER NOTICED THAT THE POWER STEERING BELT DISCONNECTED FROM THE LOWER CRANK SHAFT PULLEY AND THE CRANK SHAFT PULLEY WAS RE-ATTACHED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BELT SHOULD NOT HAVE FALLEN OFF THE CRANK SHAFT PULLEY AND BELIEVED THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
THE VEHICLE WOULD AT DIFFERENT TIMES, HAVE TROUBLE SHIFTING FROM PARK TO REVERSE, IN DRIVE, ETC. IT SOUNDED LIKE THE TRANSMISSION WAS BROKEN. THIS PROBLEM WOULD ARISE, AND THEN GO AWAY. THE FIRST TIME THE DEALERSHIP RESET THE COMPUTER, AND IT RAN FINE FOR WEEKS, THEN THE PROBLEM CAME ABOUT AGAIN, AND WENT AWAY, THE LAST TIME AROUND SEPT 18TH, IT WAS WORSE, SO I HAD IT TOWED AND REPAIRED. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE OUTPUT SHAFT SENSOR AND TURBIN SHAFT SENSOR AT A COST OF $700. I WAS IMPELLED TO REPORT A CONCERN, AFTER SEEING OTHER CONCERNS ON LINE FOR THE SAME ISSUES, AND A CUSTOMER OF MINE WHO HAS AN EDGE IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES. FORD MOTOR COMPANY, AND THE DEALERSHIPS DO NOT SEEM TO WANT TO SERIOUSLY ADDRESS THIS ISSUE, AND I FELT LIKE THEY WERE TRYING TO AVOID ADMITTING TO A MAJOR PROBLEM. *KB
WE BOUGHT OUR EDGE CERTIFIED THROUGH THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND WITHIN MONTHS THE TRANSMISSION WOULD VIOLENTLY SHIFT BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND. WHEN I TOOK IT IN THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. IT HAPPENS AT LEAST A FEW TIMES A MONTH AND I'M NERVOUS THAT THERE WILL BE COMPLETE FAILURE ONCE WE ARE OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY PERIOD. *TR
I PURCHASED A NEW 2008 FORD EDGE IN JANUARY OF 2009. I BEGAN EXPERIENCING BRAKING PROBLEMS EARLY IN 2011. THIS CAR HAS ABOUT 15,000 MILES ON IT WHEN I TOOK IJT BACK TO THE DEALER. WHEN I DESCRIBED THE PROBLEM TO THE MAINTENANCE MANAGER AND THE MECHANIC, BOTH STATED THAT IT WAS PROBLEM DUE TO RUST ON THE ROTORS. THE MECHANIC REMOVED THE WHEELS AND SHOWED ME THE ROTORS THAT WERE COMPLETELY RUSTED. HE THEN REMOVED THE ROTORS AND SHOWED ME ONE THAT HAD A PIECE ABOUT THE SIZE OF A DIME THAT HAD PHYSICALLY RUSTED AWAY FROM THE ROTOR. I ASKED HOW THAT HAD HAPPENED AS I KEEP MY CAR IN THE GARAGE AND HAD VERY LITTLE MILEAGE ON IT. HE STATED THAT THE CAR HAD PROBABLY SAT IN THE LOT FOR 6 MONTHS PRIOR TO MY PURCHASE. I COMPLAINED TO THE MANAGERS AT THE DEALER AND ALSO WROTE A LETTER TO FORD ABOUT THIS SUBJECT. ALTHOUGH ALL OF THESE PERSONS ADMIT IT IS DUE TO RUST, THEY WOULD NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DAMAGE. SINCE AUTOMOBILES WERE BEING SOLD AT A SLOW PACE WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR, THIS PROBLEM MUST EXIST ON OTHERS. MAYBE YOU SHOULD LOOK INTO THE PROBLEM. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHERE THE TECHNICIANS REPLACED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL SENSOR. AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO STALL AND WOULD NOT RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHERE THE MECHANIC STATED THE FUEL PUMP AND FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THE FUEL PUMP MELTED A HOLE INTO THE FUEL TANK, WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED A FIRE. THE FUEL PUMP AND FUEL TANK WERE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.

THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO SHUT OFF AND RESTART THE VEHICLE IN ORDER FOR THE GEAR SELECTOR TO DISLODGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. WENT THROUGH INTERSECTION STANDING ON BRAKE PEDAL, WOULD NOT STOP, LEFT SIDE WHEELS LOCKED UP. SLID ON BLACKTOP 2+ CAR LENGTHS TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC SHOULDER, 2 MORE CAR LENGTHS ON GRAVEL. TOLD BY REPAIR SHOP ABS UNIT NOT WORKING PROPERLY. COULD NOT EXPLAIN WHY POWER WENT TO WHEELS ON THE RIGHT WHILE DRIVING DOWN ROAD. WAS 60,000 AND 4 YEARS OLD. NOW 6 1/2 AND 67,000 MILES, STILL STUCK WITH IT. *TR
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND UPON ACCELERATION FROM A COMPLETE STOP, THE VEHICLE RANDOMLY WOULD GO INTO A "NEUTRAL-LIKE" STATE. RPMS WOULD INCREASE DRAMATICALLY, BUT THE CAR WOULD CRAWL BETWEEN 3-5MPH. THE MESSAGE, "OD READ ERROR" WOULD DISPLAY ON THE DASHBOARD, POWER STEERING WOULD GO OUT AND BRAKES WOULD NOT RESPOND WELL (IT WAS AS IF THE CAR HAD TURNED OFF). WHEN SHIFTING FROM DRIVE TO PARK OR REVERSE, THE VEHICLE WOULD JERK FORWARD VIOLENTLY, AS IF REAR-ENDED. ONCE THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF AND STARTED AGAIN, THE PROBLEM WOULD GO AWAY. WE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE DEALERSHIP EVEN DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS WAS ONLY AT 37,600 MILES. THE DEALER SAID IT WAS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE, BUT IT APPEARS TO BE AN ON-BOARD COMPUTER ISSUE AS WELL. AFTER TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED, 5 WEEKS LATER HAD ISSUE WITH SHIFTING INTO FIRST GEAR. VEHICLE SHIFTED VERY HARD INTO FIRST GEAR. CAR IS BACK DOWN AT THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN. WROTE A LETTER TO FORD EXPRESSING MY CONCERN AND REQUESTED THE CAR BE REPURCHASED, THEY DENIED MY REQUEST. *TR
ON 3/22/11 I WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION WITH 4 OTHER VEHICLES; MY 2008 FORD EDGE LIMITED WAS TOTALED. NONE OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER SIDE WAS SO SMASHED; THEY WERE UNABLE TO GET ME OUT THAT WAY SO THEY MADE ME CRAWL OUT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE, WHICH WAS DIFFICULT B/C ALL THE DAMAGE WAS THE FRONT AND DRIVER SIDE, AND I WAS WEDGED IN. OFFICIALS, WITNESSES, AND THE OTHER DRIVERS INVOLVED IN THE ACCIDENT WERE AMAZED THAT I SURVIVED THE ACCIDENT, ACCORDING TO THEM I SHOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD; THEY WERE SHOCKED I WAS 'OK'. THE CLAIM HAS BEEN PROCESSED; LIEN HOLDERS ARE BEING PAID AND MY PORTION WILL DIRECT DEPOSITED NEXT WEEK. THE THING IS, I'M NOT OK. AIRBAGS ARE THERE FOR THE PROTECTION OF DRIVER AND PASSENGERS, BUT NONE OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED (EASILY VERIFIABLE). I DON'T WANT A LONG DRUG OUT LAWSUIT WITH FORD FOR THE AIRBAG ISSUE. ALL I WANT IS A NEW FORD EDGE LIMITED OF MY CHOOSING WITH FREE MAINTENANCE, PARTS (I'LL PAY LABOR) FOR AS LONG AS I OWN THE CAR. REPEATED ISSUE WITH THE BULBS IN TAIL LIGHTS BURNING THE SOCKETS, BULBS BURN OUT CAUSING THE SOCKET TO GET A SINGED APPEARANCE WHERE THE BULB FITS. BULB IS PROPRIETARY TO FORD SO IT HAS TO BE TAKEN IN AND THEY REFUSED TO REPLACE THE SOCKET A SECOND TIME. ADVISED AT ONE POINT THAT IT COULD CAUSE GETTING A TICKET OR REAR ENDED AND INJURIES. AT THAT POINT THEY CHANGED IT OUT THE FIRST TIME. BUT STILL HAD THE BULB BURN OUT. THE BULB HAS BEEN CHANGED ABOUT 6 TIMES NOW AND STILL HAVING PROBLEMS

I HAVE A 2008 FORD EDGE PURCHASED IN 2011 6 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE ALL OF THE LIGHTS CAME ON IN VEHICLE AND THE CAR WAS STALLING. IT WOULD REV UP BUT IT WAS UNABLE TO PICK UP SPEED. I TOOK IT CAR DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM. AFTER THE CAR SAT FOR A WHILE IT STARTED WORKING FINE. A COUPLE OF MONTHS LATER AGAIN THE SAME PROBLEM WE TOWED IT TO DEALER AND THEY SAID THE SAME THING THEY COULD NOT DETECT THE PROBLEM. THIS IS CONTINUING TO HAPPEN. AGAIN TODAY DEC 2013 WHILE DRIVING THE CAR STARTED REVVING AND WOULD NOT PICK UP SPEED. I REALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AT THIS POINT. MY 2008 FORD EDGE HAS TIRE PRESSURE MONITORS WHICH INDICATES MY TIRE PRESSURE IS DANGEROUSLY LOW WHEN I CHANGE RIMS AND TIRES TO MY SNOW TIRES TWICE A YEAR. WHEN I PURCHASED THE TIRES FROM LES SCHWAB TIRES I WAS ASSURED THAT THEY WHERE ABLE TO RESET THIS SYSTEM IF NECESSARY. APPARENTLY THIS IS NOT THE CASE AND THE SYSTEM MUST BE RESET BY A FORD SERVICE. LAST YEAR FORD RESET THE SYSTEM WHICH TAKES ABOUT ONE MINUTE, WHEN I BROUGHT MY CAR IN FOR 5000 MILE SERVICE.. THIS YEAR I WAS TOLD BY LAKE CITY FORD IN COEUR D ALENE, ID WHEN I BROUGHT MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE THAT THERE IS A $24.95 CHARGE TO RESET THE TPM'S. KNOWING HUMAN NATURE IT IS MY BELIEF THAT IF THE CONSUMING PUBLIC HAS TO PAY $25 TWICE A YEAR TO RESET THE SYSTEM THE ADVANTAGE OF HAVING TPM WILL NOT BE OF ANY BENEFIT SINCE MOST PEOPLE WILL SIMPLY NOT HAVE THE SYSTEM RESET AND IGNORE DASH BOARD WARNINGS OF POTENTIAL TIRE FAILURE. THIS IS NOT IN THE BEST INTEREST OF PUBLIC SAFETY AND POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS. I BEGAN TO NOTICE A WHITE DUST BLOWING FROM MY VENTS WHEN I TURNED THE AIR CONDITIONER ON ABOUT A MONTH AGO. I HAD AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP AS WELL AS A FORD DEALERSHIP LOOK AT THIS AND THEY BOTH AGREED THAT IT WAS "FLUX" THAT WAS COMING OFF OF THE EVAPORATOR. I WAS TOLD BY THE INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP THAT THIS WAS TOXIC AND THAT IT NEEDED REPAIRED IMMEDIATELY. 2008 FORD EDGE - THE BRAKES HAVE A SEVERE GRINDING/VIBRATING NOISE FOR THE FIRST 5-10 TIMES I BRAKE AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN TURNED OFF FOR SEVERAL HOURS/OVERNIGHT. THIS SEEMS TO BE WORSE THE COLDER THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE, ALTHOUGH THIS HAPPENS IN ALL WEATHER, EITHER 50 DEGREE OR 80 DEGREE WEATHER. THIS STARTED TO HAPPEN AROUND 10K MILES AND I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER, THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE ISSUE AND THE BRAKES ARE FINE. AFTER IT GOT WORSE EACH MONTH AND NOW AT 18K MILES I TOOK IT AGAIN INTO THE DEALER (SUNNYVALE FORD) AND THEY DUPLICATED THE PROBLEM BUT TOLD ME THAT FORD HAS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN ISSUED FOR IT BUT THEY CLAIM THIS ISN'T A SAFETY ISSUE SO THEY HAVE NO FIX. I CHECKED AND DIDN'T SEE A TSB WHEN I SEARCHED THE WEB FOR MY 2008 EDGE. THE DEALER SAID I HAVE TO BRAKE HARD SEVERAL TIMES AND THEN IT'LL GO AWAY BUT THEY SAID THE ISSUE COULD COME BACK. THE DEALER SAID THEY'VE HAD THIS BRAKING ISSUES WITH MANY OTHER FORD EDGE'S. NOT JUST MINE. AFTER GETTING MY CAR BACK THIS WEEK I'VE NOTICED THAT THE BRAKING NOISE/VIBRATION STILL HAPPENS.
