I CAN SMELL FUEL COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR. SOMETIMES IT LEAKS ENOUGH TO LEAVE STAINS ON THE STREET. TOOK IT TO METRO FORD OF OKLAHOMA CITY AND THEY SAID MY CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY TYPE OF RECALL. AFTER READING ABOUT THE RECALL FORD ISSUED ON MANY PREVIOUS MODELS, I FEEL THAT MY PROBLEM IS BEING AVOIDED AND THEY AREN'T CONCERNED ABOUT MY FAMILY'S SAFETY. VERY UPSET. WHY IS MY GAS TANK LEAKING FUEL?
FORD HAS A WELL KNOWN TRANSMISSION ISSUE. THE FORD EDGE WILL DECIDE THAT IT WILL NOT GO INTO GEAR WHILE IN TRAFFIC, THEN WHEN YOU RESTART IT IT RESETS AND THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE GONE. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED. THE TRANSMISSIONS HIT HARD OR WON'T GO INTO GEAR. THESE ISSUES CAN'T BE FIXED BY THE AVERAGE CONSUMER.. TRANSMISSION SLIPS THE YOU PUT THE CAR INTO PARK OR NEUTRAL AND THEN IT WILL GO INTO GEAR, BUT I'M AFRAID I'M GOING TO GET HIT. THE CAR IS IN MOTION WHEN IT SLIPS OR SKIPS OR GETS STUCK. I DON'T REALLY KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD EDGE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT WALKED BY THE VEHICLE AND SMELLED A FUEL ODOR. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH COWLES PARKWAY FORD (LOCATED AT 13779 NOBLEWOOD PLAZA, WOODBRIDGE, VA 22193, (703) 986-5500) AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V712000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); HOWEVER, THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TAKATA RECALL ISSUE. I RECEIVED A NOTICE OF THIS RECALL IN JANUARY 2019. I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALER, MULLINAX FORD TO HAVE IT RESOLVED. THEY TOOK MY VIN, NAME AND NUMBER AND SAID THEY'D CALL ME WHEN THE PARTS BECAME AVAILABLE. I RECEIVED ANOTHER NOTICE IN APRIL SO AGAIN, I MADE THE CALL TO MULLINAX. THEY TOOK DOWN MY INFORMATION AGAIN AND SAID THEY'D CONTACT ME. HERE IT IS, JUNE 10TH 2019. I CALLED THEM AGAIN AND THEY SAID IT WILL STILL BE WEEKS POSSIBLY MONTHS BEFORE THE PARTS COME IN. UNACCEPTABLE! I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR!
I HAVE A 2009 FORD EDGE SEL WITH 113,300 MILES. I HAD BEEN EXPERIENCING BRAKE ISSUES WITH SQUEAKING AND HAVING TO PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL DOWN ALL THE WAY WITH FEAR THAT THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP. THERE WERE NO WARNING SIGNS OR WARNING LIGHTS AND JUST CAME OUT OF THE BLUE. IT WOULD HAPPEN WHETHER I WAS JUST DRIVING SLOW OR FASTER ON ANY TYPE OF ROAD OR WEATHER CONDITION. I SAW FORD PUT AN EXTRA WARRANTY ON EDGES FROM 2010-2013 REGARDING THE SAME ISSUE VIA 13N02. I HAVE READ A LOT OF COMPLAINTS FROM YEARS PREVIOUS AND AFTER THIS EXTENDED WARRANTY. I THINK THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO AS I HAVE A YOUNG SON WHO I DRIVE TO SCHOOL A LOT AND SINCE THERE WAS NO WARNING ABOUT BRAKE FAILURE I'M JUST THANKFUL NOTHING BAD HAPPENED. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE MASTER CYLINDER AND A BAD POWER BRAKE BOOSTER. THANK YOU.
TAKATA RECALL, 19S01/NHTSA RECALL 19V-001, MY FORD DEALER HAS NO REPLACEMENT AIRBAG AVAILABLE AND FORD COMPANY GIVES ME RECORDED MESSAGE. ITS BEEN OVER 6 YEARS NOW, WHEN WILL MY CAR GET REPAIRED?
I CAN SMELL GAS AT THE REAR OF MY CAR. I HAD MY STRUTS SERVICED AND THE MECHANIC NOTICED CORROSION AND A FUEL LEAK.HE DIDN'T WANT TO DROP THE TANK TO GET A CLOSER LOOK FR FEAR IT WOULD VOID A RECALL REPAIR. I CHECKED FOR A RECALL AND NOTED THERE WAS ONE FOR CERTAIN 2009 EDGE'S BUT MY VIN DIDN'T SHOW ONE.
THE TAILLIGHT SOCKETS MELTED WITHOUT ANY WARNING IN THE DASHBOARD. THE SOCKET PLATIC IS TOTALLY MELTED BAD
I HAVE ONLY HAD EDGE SINCE 2017 AND I PURCHASED IT OUT RIGHT AND I AM NOTICING SOME THINGS THAT ARE NOT RIGHT. HARD TO STOP AND WOBBLING WHEEL ON FRONT DRIVER SIDE AND MAKES LIKE A RUBBING NOISE. BRAKES ON IT OUR WEARING OUT ALOT FASTER AND I HAVE ALREADY HAD A BLOWOUT ON HIGHWAY ON THAT TIRE AND THEY HAD TO TOW IT AND IT COST ME ALMOST $500 TO GET IT OUT AND ITS TREAD IS GETTING WORN DOWN ALOT FASTER AS WELL. I SEEN ON HERE THAT THERE IS A SPINDLE ISSUE?
I APPLIED THE BRAKES AT A STOP LIGHT AND IT MAKES A HISSING SQUEALING NOTICE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DICK WITHAM FORD (2033 LA PORTE RD, WATERLOO, IA 50702, (319) 234-4200) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE WELDS WERE DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 113,780.
I WAS SLOWLY DRIVING THROUGH A NEIGHBORHOOD WHEN I COULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE WHEN MY VEHICLE WAS IN DRIVE. I EVENTUALLY CAME TO A STOP. THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT ENGAGING. I KEPT TRYING TO ACCELERATE BUT I WAS UNABLE TO GO ANYWHERE. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK, THEN BACK TO DRIVE AND IT STILL DID NOT WORK. I THEN RESORTED TO TURNING OFF THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON. AT THAT POINT THE VEHICLE DID OPERATE AS USUAL. SINCE IT HAPPENED I HAVE READ COUNTLESS REPORTS OF THIS SAME ISSUE IN THIS VEHICLE WITH MANY COMPLAINTS. THIS IS A POTENTIALLY DEADLY ERROR FROM FORD AND THEIR TRANSMISSIONS IN THIS VEHICLE. I BELIEVE IT IS RELATED TO THE SENSORS ON THE TRANSMISSION. A RECALL NEEDS TO BE ISSUED IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE THEIR CAR COMES TO A TOTAL STOP ON A BUSY INTERSTATE. FORD KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND HAS NOT ADDRESSED IT.
TAKATA RECALL: PARAMUS FORD DEALERSHIP (375 NJ-17, PARAMUS, NJ 07652) CLAIMS TO HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE REPLACEMENT PARTS. I'M DRIVING TO FLORIDA IN 3 WEEKS, AND WILL STAY FOR 3 MONTHS, WHERE IT WILL BE EXPOSED TO HIGHER HEAT AND HUMIDITY. NEED THE PARTS BEFORE 2/11/2019. HAVE BEEN CALLING PARAMUS FORD FOR WEEKS, AND THEY STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE PARTS FROM TAKATA.
"TAKATA RECALL" I HAVE BEEN CALLING SINCE JUNE TO GET MY CAR REPAIRED. I WAS GIVEN A CASE NUMBER AND THEN NEVER CONTACTED. I HAVE CALLED THE 2 DEALERSHIPS IN COLORADO SPRINGS AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD GET ME IN A RENTAL CAR AND YET THEY NEVER HAVE. I HAVE CALLED THEM EVERY WEEK AND CONTINUE TO GET THE SAME RESPONSE STATING THEY ARE WORKING ON IT. I HAVE CALLED FORD MOTOR SINCE JUNE AS WELL AND GET THE EXACT SAME RESPONSE. THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE VEHICLE IS NOW ON AND I HAVE A CHILD THAT I WILL NOT PUT IN THIS CAR AS IT HAS A RECALL ON IT. I HAVE TOLD THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE LIGHT AND THEY STATED THEY WILL CONTACT ME WHEN A RENTAL IS AVAILABLE.
SEATS ROCK BACK AND FORTH WHEN NOT EVEN ACCELERATING MUCH, AND SUN ROOFS HAVE ISSUES CLOSING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO STALL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO HER DESTINATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOCAL DEALER CAMPBELL FORD PERFORMANCE (2541 S WINCHESTER BLVD, CAMPBELL, CA 95008; (408) 374-6131) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE CLUTCH TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 79,000.
TAKATA RECALL : I RECEIVED A LETTER FOR RECALL 17S01 / NHTSA RECALL 17V-024. AND I HAVE HEARD THAT THE PARTS AREN'T AVALIABLE TO CHANGE IT. HOW CAN I DO?
THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL FOR MY PASSENGER AIR BAG, BUT NO DEALER HAS PARTS??? WHY IS IT CALLED A SAFETY RECALL IF YOUR NOT GONNA FIX IT THIS YEAR???? I DONT CARE WHO MAKES THE PARTS, IT SAYS FORD ON THE FRONT OF MY CAR.
FORD HAS SENT THREE (3) RECALL NOTIFICATIONS TO ME REGARDING THE TAKATA RECALL. AFTER I RECEIVED THE SECOND AND SUBSEQUENT THIRD NOTICE, I CALLED A DEALER TO ASK ABOUT BRINGING IN THE VEHICLE FOR THE REPLACEMENT/REPAIR. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BOTH TIMES THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT SENT THE REPLACEMENTS. THE MANUFACTURER KEEPS UPDATING THE SYSTEM - THE LATEST IS OCTOBER 31, 2018. ACCIDENTS ARE UNAVOIDABLE SOMETIMES, AND IF I HAD A PASSENGER IN MY VEHICLE AND THE AIRBAG EXPLODED, THE RESULTING DISASTER FROM THE METAL ASSOCIATED WITH THESE AIRBAGS WOULD DISFIGURE MY PASSENGER. DOES SUCH A TRAGEDY NEED TO TAKE PLACE BEFORE ANY CONSUMER RECEIVES WHAT IS A PUBLIC TRUST FOR OUR COLLECTIVE SAFETY?

THE DEALER (PARKWAY FORD, 2104 PETERS CREEK PKWY, WINSTON-SALEM, NC 27127, 1-(877) 836-4271) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
THE BRAKE BOOSTER WHICH IS A KNOWN PROBLEM ON EVERY FORD EDGE FROM 2007 - 2013 STARTED MAKING A HISS OR LOUD SQUEAKING NOISE WHEN PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE BRAKES. FOR THIS 6 YEAR FORD HAS INSTALLED THE EXACT SAME MANUFACTURERS PART, BUT FORD HAS ONLY RECALLED SOME OF THESE YEARS DESPITE THE SAME ISSUES OCCURRING WITH EVERY MODEL YEAR. AFTER A WHILE THE NOISE INTENSIFIED AND THEN THE BRAKES FAILED!!! SOMETIMES THE BRAKES WOULD NOT ENGAGE UNTIL THE PEDAL WAS MASHED TO THE FLOOR, SOMETIMES THEY ENGAGED AS SOON AS THE PEDAL WAS PRESSED. THIS CREATES A VERY DANGEROUS ENVIRONMENT. I OWN 3 DIFFERENT MODEL FORD VEHICLES, BUT THIS COULD BE THE LAST FORD I PURCHASE. I TOOK THE EDGE INTO A BRAKE SPECIALIST AND WAS TOLD ABOUT THIS BEING A WELL KNOWN ISSUE ON THE FORD EDGE, BUT THAT I PURCHASED THE "WRONG" YEAR 2009 AND THIS IS THE ONLY MODEL YEAR NOT COVERED UNDER THE NHTSA RECALL. THEY HAVE QUOTED ME $925 TO MAKE THE REPAIRS. WHILE I WILL DO THIS REPAIR SINCE I WILL NOT PUT MY FAMILY AT RISK WE ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED BY FORD'S CORPORATE NEGLIGENCE ON THIS ISSUE.

WHEN DRIVER DEPRESSES BRAKE PEDAL IT MAKES A HISSING SOUND AND DRIVER HAS TO USE EXCESSIVE FORCE TO STOP THE VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE (13N02) FOR THE BRAKE BOOSTER, ALTHOUGH THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR OVER A YEAR? IT IS NOT SAFE TO RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OF VEHICLE. THIS IS TOO LONG FOR THEM TO EXPECT PEOPLE TO GO WITHOUT A FIX TO THIS PROBLEM! THERE IS A $30/DAY RENTAL OPTION, SO FAR I HAVE NOT FOUND A RENTAL PLACE THAT WILL RENT A CAR THAT CHEAP. NEED TO FIND A BETTER WAY TO HANDLE THIS. AS I AM TIRED OF HAVING EVERYONE RIDE IN BACK SEAT OF CAR.
VISTA SUN ROOF PLASTIC CLIPS BROKE NOW SUN ROOF WILL NOT CLOSE. TRIED CLOSING THE SUN ROOF AND THE PLASTIC PICE BROKE OFF AND HIT MY ARM. THERE ARE LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ON LINE ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THE SUNROOF AND IT COSTS $1400-$3000 TO FIX BECAUSE OF 1 LITLLE PLASTIC CLIP BREAKING

I HAVE SEARCH THE INTERNET AND THERE IS A LARGE REPORTS OF A POWER BOOSTER FAILURE IN CERTAIN YEARS OF THIS FORD MODEL. I SEARCHED MY VIN # AND IT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH I READ FROM OTHERS THAT HAD THE SAME ISSUE THAT I'M HAVING NOW. THE BRAKE PEDDLE AT TIMES IS TOUGH TO PRESS, LIKE NO PLAY IN IT WHILE I AM TRYING TO STOP IT IS DIFFICULT. I HAVE TO PUMP THE PEDDLE TO GET IT TO WORK. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND I HAVE READ MANY OTHERS HAVING THE SAME EXPERIENCE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

SCARED TO DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE OF INJURY THAT COULD BE CAUSED. WANTED TO SELL CAR AS IT WAS MY MOMS WHO HAS PASSED AWAY BUT NOBODY WANTS TO BUY IT BECAUSE OF THIS RECALL - I DON'T BLAME THEM. SO THERE IT SITS PARKED WHILE I AM PAYING FOR LICENSE PLATE AND INSURANCE. READ THAT IT IS SAFE IF NO ONE SITS IN FRONT PASSENGER SEAT - DO I TRUST THIS? WHY DOES IT TAKE SO LONG TO GET PARTS, WHEN NEW CARS ARE COMING OUT AND FORD HAS AIR BAGS IN NEW CARS. WHERE DO THEY GET AIR BAG PARTS FOR THE NEW CARS BEING MANUFACTURED? GUESS JUST HAVE TO WAIT, FOR HOW LONG - NOBODY KNOWS!
TAKATA RECALL - STILL NO PARTS NO RENTAL WE WERE MADE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE IN FEB 2018. THE LETTER STATED PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE IN THE 2 OR 3 QUARTER. FORD ALSO STATED WE COULD GET A RENTAL. SO WE RESERVED A RENTAL.THE DAY WE WERE TO GET A RENTAL THE DEALERSHIP CALLED AND STATED NONE WERE AVAILABLE AND THEY WOULD CALL WHEN ONE WAS AVAILABLE. TAKATA RECALL - I RECEIVED NOTIFICATION IN JANUARY 2018 FROM MY CREDIT KARMA ACCT THAT MY VEHICLE WAS A PART OF THE TAKATA RECALL. UPON RESEARCH WITH NHTSA, I FOUND THAT THERE WAS NO REMEDY FOR THE RECALL. A FEW MONTHS LATER I RECEIVED A NOTICE THAT FORD WAS OFFERING TO COVER RENTAL CAR EXPENSES FOR THOSE EFFECTED BY THE RECALL WITH NO REMEDY. BUT WHEN I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIPS TO ASK FOR THE RENTAL, I WAS TOLD THAT THE RENTAL COMPANY THAT FORD DEALS WITH, ENTERPRISE, WAS REFUSING TO HONOR THE OFFER. IT IS NOW NOVEMBER 2018, AND NO REMEDY HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED. MY CAR IS IN GROUP 5, OF WHICH ONLY A VERY SMALL PERCENTAGE OF EFFECTED VEHICLES HAVE BEEN FIXED. IT IS ALSO MY UNDERSTANDING THE REMEDY PARTS MANUFACTURER IS BASED IN MEXICO. WITH THE CURRENT STATE OF AFFAIRS BETWEEN POTUS AND MEXICO, THAT MEANS THE EXPORTING AND DISTRIBUTION OF GOODS WILL TAKE LONGER. I FIND THAT THE PRUDENT THING FOR FORD TO DO IS MOVE MANUFACTURING TO THE US. I UNDERSTAND THIS MAY BE MORE EXPENSIVE FOR FORD IN THE SHORT TERM. BUT IT WOULD BENEFIT THEM MORE IN THE LONG RUN BY GETTING THESE PARTS MADE QUICKER AND DISTRIBUTED QUICKER, RATHER THAN A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT OR INDIVIDUAL LAW SUITS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN INCONVENIENCED OR WORSE, HURT OR DIED. I FEEL LIKE IT WILL BE YEARS BEFORE MY CAR IS FIXED. AT THIS TIME, I DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO SIT IN MY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. I CANT EVEN USE THIS VEHICLE AS THE FAMILY CAR AS INTENDED WHEN WE BOUGHT IT. IM HIGHLY FRUSTRATED BY THE LACK OF PROGRESS. IT IS MY HOPE THAT THE NHSTA CAN HELP FACILITATE PROGRESS BY FORD & TAKATA.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED SEVERAL TIMES AND WAS UNABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT RECENTLY RECEIVED A POSTCARD FROM TK HOLDINGS, STATING THAT THEY FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL. MY AIRBAG WAS RECALLED A YEAR AGO AND STILL HAS NOT BEEN REPLACED, EVEN AFTER I'VE MADE MULTIPLE PHONE CALLS TO FORD. I'M VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE UNSAFE AIRBAG, ESPECIALLY SINCE THIS CAR HAS BEEN REGISTERED IN VERY WET AND HUMID PARTS OF THE COUNTRY: NORTH CAROLINA, INDIANA AND OREGON. I'D LIKE FORD TO REPAIR MY CAR WITH A REPLACEMENT AIRBAG IMMEDIATELY OR PROVIDE ME WITH A NON-AFFECTED FORD EDGE TO DRIVE UNTIL MINE IS MADE SAFE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD AN EXPLOSION UNDER THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SMOKE ENTERED THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE, WHICH HINDERED HIS VISIBILITY. AS A RESULT, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A POLE AND CAUGHT FIRE UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FIRE EXTINGUISHED ON ITS OWN DUE TO THE COLD. A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED LOWER BACK AND SHOULDER INJURIES BY STRIKING THE BOTTOM OF THE DASHBOARD. THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER SEATED IN THE REAR PASSENGER SEAT SUSTAINED BACK, NECK, AND CHEST INJURIES, AND SUSTAINED BREATHING PROBLEMS. BOTH OCCUPANTS SOUGHT MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE CONTACT CALLED BIG THREE AUTO SALES (17020 E 8 MILE RD, DETROIT, MI 48205, (313) 245-0800) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V001000 (AIR BAGS). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TAKATA RECALL ... FORD DEALERSHIPS ARE REFUSING TO GIVE ME (AND OTHER FORD OWNERS AFFECTED BY THE AIRBAG RECALL) A LOANER CAR OR RENTAL CAR. I LIVE IN A STATE WITH HIGH HUMIDITY, WHICH MEANS THERE'S A HIGHER FAILURE RATE. MY WIFE COULD BE NUMBER 19 IN THE DEATH TOLL SO FAR! IN FORD'S LETTER TO ME REGARDING THIS, THEY SIMPLY STATE "DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO SIT IN THE FIRST ROW PASSENGER SEAT". THAT IS A HORRIBLE STATEMENT, WHICH EFFECTIVELY MEANS "SORRY, 50% OF YOUR CAR IS UNUSABLE UNTIL WE FIND A SOLUTION A YEAR FROM NOW"! ALL OTHER COMPANIES AFFECTED BY THIS RECALL ARE OFFERING IT'S CUSTOMERS A SAFE VEHICLE TO RIDE DURING THE WAIT. FORD SHOULD AS WELL! PLEASE ATTEMPT TO PUSH THEM TO DO SO. THANK YOU.
TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED THIS RECALL NOTICE YESTERDAY, I HAVE SPOKEN TO MY FORD DEALERSHIP, AND TO FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP AND RECEIVED THE SAME RESPONSE. THAT THE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER TILL SPRING AND THEY ARE SORRY. I AM BEING INCONVENIENCED, I HAVE A FAMILY, I CAN NOT GO WITHOUT PUTTING SOMEONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. TAKATA RECALL. DEALERSHIP AND FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAVE NO INFORMATION ON AVAILABILITY OF THE REPLACEMENT AIR BAGS, OR, AT LEAST THEY SAY THE HAVE NO INFORMATION. YET CHRYSLER CORPORATION ADVERTISES THAT THEY HAVE REPLACEMENT AIR BAGS AND WANT THEIR CUSTOMERS TO MAKE APPOINTMENTS TO GET THE REPLACEMENT COMPLETED. THIS TELLS ME THAT THE BAGS ARE AVAILABLE AND FORD'S CLAIMS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED.

TAKATA RECALL- I RECEIVED A LETTER DATED DECEMBER 2017 STATING THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT AIRBAG. THE LETTER ALSO STATED THAT WHEN THE PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE, I WOULD RECEIVE A LETTER INSTRUCTING ME TO CALL AND MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO GET THE AIRBAG FIXED. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE LETTER YET. I FEEL THAT THE PARTS SHOULD HAVE BEEN AVAILABLE ALREADY AND THE AIRBAG FIXED.
