YESTERDAY, I REPORTED ISSUE WITH DRIVER SIDE "DOOR AJAR" INDICATOR LIGHT NOT TURNING OFF. TOOK THE CAR TO FORD DEALER TODAY AND WAS TOLD, UPON INSPECTION, THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE "DOOR AJAR" SWITCH IS ALSO BEGINNING TO FAIL. THEY WANTED OVER $500 TO FIX EACH SWITCH. IF BOTH DOOR PARTS ARE FAILING AT THE SAME TIME, THIS IS NOT A COINCIDENCE. I INFORMED THEM THAT I RESEARCHED THE ISSUE AND FOUND THAT THE NHTSB RE-OPENED INVESTIGATION INTO THIS ISSUE AFTER RECEIVING MORE THAN 1500 COMPLAINTS AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WEREN'T TOLD TO ISSUE A RECALL YET, SO THE REPAIR IS NOT COVERED. THESE PARTS ARE OBVIOUSLY DEFECTIVE- WHY ARE CUSTOMERS HAVING TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR REPAIRS?? BAD ENOUGH WE SUFFER THE INCONVENIENCE OF BEING WITHOUT CARS FOR REPAIR TIME. NHTSB NEEDS TO STEP IN AND FORCE FORD TO ISSUE A RECALL. OBVIOUSLY FORD WILL NOT DO IT ON THEIR OWN.
THE DOOR LATCH INDICATOR CONTINUALLY SHOWS THAT THE DRIVER'S DOOR IS AJAR AT ALL TIMES. AS A RESULT, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS AND "DOOR OPEN " LIGHTS REMAIN LIT WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED OFF, DRAINING THE BATTERY. THE DOOR LOCKS DO NOT ENGAGE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, A SAFETY ISSUE.
2011 FORD EDGE DOOR AJAR LIGHT REMAINS ON EVEN WHEN DOOR IS SHUT TIGHTLY. THIS KEEPS DOME LIGHTS ON IN CAR AND KILLS THE BATTERY. HAD TO SLAM CAR DOOR 20 TIMES TONIGHT WHEN I ARRIVED HOME TO GET LIGHT TO GO OUT. SEARCHED INTERNET AND SAW THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE AND THAT IN OCT 2016 NHTSA LAUNCHED INVESTIGATION INTO THIS AFTER OF 1500 COMPLAINTS! CALLED FORD SERVICE THEY SAID THERE NO RECALL ON THIS, SO NO CUSTOMER SERVICE ASSISTANCE. TOLD ME TO GO TO DEALER AND HAVE PROBLEM DIAGNOSED. TOLD TO KEEP RECEIPT BECAUSE IF RECALLED IN FUTURE YOU CAN BE REIMBURSED. HOW CAN THEY IGNORE SOME MANY COMPLAINTS?? SOME INTERNET POSTS ABOUT ISSUE CLAIMED THEIR DOOR OPENED WHILE DRIVING... THIS IS VERY SCARY!
THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT DOES NOT GO OFF WHEN THE DOOR IS SHUT. THIS STARTED AS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM BACK IN MARCH, 2017 BUT NOW HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY TIME. EVEN IF IT DOES GO OFF WHEN THE DOOR SHUTS, IT NOW COMES BACK ON WHILE DRIVING. WHEN THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ON, THE DOORS CANNOT BE LOCKED AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ILLUMINATED. THIS HAPPENS WHEN EXITING THE CAR AS WELL WHICH AGAIN DOES NOT ALLOW IT TO BE LOCKED AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON DRAINING THE BATTERY. I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT THIS IS A VERY WELL KNOWN ISSUE BUT FORD HAS DECIDED NOT TO DO A RECALL. CUSTOMERS ARE HAVING TO PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE SENSORS ON THEIR OWN WHICH IS ANYWHERE FROM $450 - $600. WHILE THERE ARE NO "SAFETY" ISSUES INVOLVED WITH THIS FAULTY SENSOR, IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE THAT FORD WOULD NOT CORRECT THIS ISSUE AFTER BUILDING IN ALL THE "SAFETY" FEATURES AROUND THE LOCKING PROCESS AND MECHANISMS.
ALTHOUGH THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT DOOR IS CLOSED, "DOOR AJAR" WARNING IS STILL ILLUMINATED, CAR DOES NOT ALLOW LOCKING OF DOORS WHILE THIS WARNING APPEARS. ALSO, DOME LIGHT REMAINS ON FOR SEVERAL MINUTES, WHICH IS A HAZARD FOR NIGHT-TIME DRIVING. THIS WARNING APPEARS WHETHER OR NOT THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION.
REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR DOES NOT SHOW SHUT ON ALERTS BUT THE DOOR IS SHUT.
DOOR OPEN SIGNAL STAYS ON AND DOESN'T ALLOW INTERIOR TO TURN OFF. ALARM WILL GO OFF EVERY 2 HOURS. DOOR AJAR SIGNAL REMAINS ON REGARDLESS OF CAR IS MOVING OR OFF IN PARK. INTERIOR LIGHT STAYS ON AFTER CAR IS OFF.
DRIVER DOOR AJAR! WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED! UHH LEFT ME STRANDED TWICE BECAUSE IT RAN DOWN MY BATTERY.. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL! PAID TOO MUCH FOR THIS VEHICLE!
LIFT GATE IS CORRODED AND RUSTING IN BIG CHUNKS AT THE POINT WHERE THE LIFT GATE AND THE RUBBER SEAL MEET ALONG THE INSIDE BOTTOM OF THE GATE. ALSO HAVE RUSTING UNDER DRIVER SIDE REAR WHEEL WELL FENDER. VEHICLE IS WITHIN 36K AND AND VERY LITTLE ADVERSE WEATHER DRIVING. LIFT GATE IS NOW IN DANGER OF OPENING AS CORROSION IS WORKING ITS WAY TO LOCK CONNECTOR.
THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LATCH DOES NOT CATCH. THIS CAUSES THE "DRIVERS DOOR AJAR" WARNING. THIS ALSO CAUSES THE LIGHTS TO NO TURN OFF WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED AND TURNED OFF. THIS RESULTING THE BATTERY BEING DRAINED. WHEN BATTERY IS DRAINED THE CAR WON'T START AND CAN LEAVE THE DRIVER STRANDED.
THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT DOOR WILL CLOSE PROPERLY, YET THE DASHBOARD DISPLAYS A DOOR AJAR SIGNAL AND CHIMES TO WARN THE DOOR IS NOT COMPLETELY CLOSED. THIS ISSUE WILL NOT ALLOW THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK MECHANISM TO ENGAGE, THEREFORE CREATING A SAFETY CONCERN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. MOREOVER, WHEN ATTEMPTING TO SECURE THE VEHICLE WITH THE REMOTE DOOR LOCK KNOB, THE VEHICLE WILL REMAIN UNLOCKED. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN CONFIRMED BY COUNTLESS FORD EDGE OWNERS. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENS. IT WAS ORIGINALLY DONE UNDER WARRANTY WHEN THE VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 36000 MILES. IT HAS 69000 MILES NOW.
ONGOING ISSUE SINCE 03/2017, CAR ONLY HAS 64K MILES ON IT. DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON WHEN DRIVER OR PASSENGER DOOR IS OPENED THEN CLOSED. THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON WHILE CAR IS IN REVERSE ONLY TURNING OFF ONCE CAR IS IN DRIVE DANGEROUS WHEN BACKING AT NIGHT. THE BIGGER CONCERN IS NONE OF THE DOORS WILL STAY LOCKED WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION AND THIS DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ON. THIS LIGHT STAYS ON ABOUT 90% OF THE TIME, OPENING AND CLOSING DOOR OVER AND OVER ON OCCASION WILL TURN IT OFF.
DOOR AJAR INDICATOR ALWAYS ON FOR DRIVER SIDE DOOR. AS A RESULT, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON AND DOORS DON'T LOCK WHEN TRAVELLING.
DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED. THIS CAUSES TO INTERIOR DOME LIGHT TO STAY ON WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. DRIVING AFTER DARK WITH THE DOME LIGHT STAYING ON INTERFERES WITH THE DRIVERS ABILITY TO SEE OUT AND DECREASES THE DRIVER'S VISION OF THE ROAD AHEAD.
DOOR AJAR INDICATOR SHOWING WHEN DOOR IS PROPERLY CLOSED. DRAINING BATTERY AND UNINSPECTABLE
ALARM JUST GOES OFF WHEN VEHICLE IS PARKED AND NO ONE IS AROUND. IT EVEN GOES OFF IN GARAGE.
SHIFT TO PARK WARNING INDICATOR KEEPS COMING ON WHEN THE VEHICLE IS ALREADY IN PARK AND THE VEHICLE IS SHUTOFF. THIS CAUSES THE WHOLE CLUSTER TO LIGHT UP AND WILL EVENTUALLY RUN THE BATTERY DOWN LEAVING A PERSON STRANDED. FORD IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AS IT OCCURS ON SEVERAL MODELS. THEY NEED TO RECALL THIS DEFECT IN THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY.
I HAVE A 2011 FORD EDGE 2ND YR THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON WHICH KEEPS ALL THE INTERIOR LIGHTS ON AND DRAINING THE BATTERY. I'VE HAD THE SENSOR REPLACED ONCE BUT IT STARTED AGAIN 6 MONTHS LATER. THE DEALER ASIDE I NEED TO REPLACE THEM ALL AT 400 DOLLARS A DOOR I'VE REPLACED THE BATTERY TWICE AT 230 DOLLARS EACH BECAUSE THE SPEEDOMETER READS 60MPH WHEN THE CAR IS SITTING STILL HAS TO BE FIXED AND THE MY KEY NEEDS TO BE REPROGRAMMED. IT'S A HAZARD AT NIGHT BECAUSE THE DOME LIGHTS STAY ON WHILE TRYING TO DRIVE. AND THE DEAD BATTERY HAS LEFT ME AND MY FAMILY STRANDED TWICE. .
DOOR AJAR LIGHT WON'T GO OUT WHEN CLOSING DOOR, OR LIGHT JUST RANDOMLY COMES ON WHILE DRIVING, THIS IS CAUSING DOME LIGHTS AND CONSOLE LIGHT TO COME ON AND STAY , WHICH CAN BE DANGEROUS IN THE DARK THE LIGHTS ARE DRAINING BATTERY EVEN WHEN CARS NOT RUNNING , THIS COULD LEAVE DRIVER STRANDED WITH DEAD BATTERY AT ANYTIME
THE PASSENGER DOOR IS SHOWING ON PANEL AS "DOOR AJAR" EVEN THOUGH IT IS CLOSED. IT WILL NOT LOCK AND THE DOME LIGHT WILL NOT SHUT OFF THEREFORE DRAINING MY BATTERY TOO.
THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR IS CLOSED. IT IS VERY INTERMITTENT. THE DOOR IS CLOSED, BUT THE DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT REMAINS ON. THIS IS A PROBLEM WHEN GETTING OUT OF THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE DOME LIGHTS AND THE LIGHTS UNDER THE OUTSIDE OF THE MIRRORS REMAIN ON. THE SECOND ISSUE IS WHEN YOU USE THE KEY FOB TO LOCK THE CAR, IT BEEPS TWICE SAYING THE DOOR IS STILL OPEN AND WILL NOT LOCK. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE OF THE FALSE SENSE THAT YOU HAVE SECURED YOUR VEHICLE, BUT CANT BECAUSE OF A SENSOR PROBLEM. IT COME ON AS SOON AS YOU OPEN THE DOOR TO GET IN THE VEHICLE TO GO SOMEWHERE. THE PROBLEM IS THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR IS BUILT INTO THE DOOR LATCH ITSELF AND HAVE READ THAT THE COST TO REPLACE WITH LABOR IS JUST OVER $400 DOLLARS. IF THIS HAPPENS IN THE REMAINING 3 DOORS OR THE HATCH THAT WOULD END UP COSTING OVER $2,000 DOLLARS OVER THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. I HAVE NEVER PAID THAT PRICE FOR NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ON A VEHICLE.
REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYING ON. UNCERTAIN IF DOOR IS SHUT OR NOT. WAS FIRST ABLE TO OPEN AND SHUT DOOR SEVERAL TIMES AND GET IT TO TURN OFF BUT NOW IT IS STAYING ON CAUSING MY DOME LIGHTS TO STAY ON.
THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH THE ABS LIGHT STAYS ON AFTER DRIVING OR MAKING A TURN. THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROLS WHEN TURNING DISABLE AND ONLY GO OFF WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED OFF. THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT STAYS ILLUMINATED AND THE DOORS DO NOT CLOSE PROPERLY LEAVING THE INTERIOR LIGHTS ON RUNNING DOWN MY BATTERY.*DT
DOOR AJAR LIGHTS STAYS ON , DRAINING THE BATTERY AND IT IS ALSO A SAFETY ISSUE
DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT WOULD COME ON EVEN IF THE DOOR WAS CLOSED. I WOULD ATTEMPT TO CLOSE THE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES AND IT WOULD NOT TURN OFF THE LIGHT. DISCOVER IT WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE DOOR LATCH WHICH HOUSES THE SENSOR/SWITCH FOR THE AJAR LIGHT. INTERIOR LIGHTS WOULD STAY ON WHILE DRIVING DUE TO THE VEHICLE THINKING THE DOOR WAS OPEN. MY GIRLFRIEND HAS A 2008 FORD EDGE AND HAS THE SAME ISSUE WITH HER VEHICLE. I PURCHASED MINE THINKING FORD ADDRESSED THIS ISSUE. LIGHT HAS COME ON WHILE DRIVING AND STATIONARY.
I BOUGHT THE 2001 EDGE USED. AFTER TWO DAYS I NOTICED THE PASSENGER DOOR OPEN ALARM CAME ON AND I COULD NOT REMOVE IT. BAD SENSORS. NOW, BOTH THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER DOOR ALARMS STAY ON. AND, IT WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO LOCK MY DOORS, SO WHEN I DRIVE THE DOORS ARE UNLOCKED. MY GRAND DAUGHTER OPENED A BACK DOOR AT A STOP LIGHT. IN ADDITION, DUE TO THE SENSORS, THE DOME LIGHT STAYS ON AND DRAINS MY BATTERY. LOOKING THIS UP THERE ARE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE. TO TEST THE ISSUE WHILE DRIVING, MY BROTHER OPENED THE DOOR ON THE INTERSTATE DOING 70 MPH. WHEN I TRY TO LOCK THE DOORS THEY REOPEN IMMEDIATELY. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION. IT HAPPENED 2/6/2017 AND HAS REMAINED THIS WAY.
IT STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE BREAKS A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO WHEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD THE CARS BRAKES FAILED AND WHEN ALL THE WAY TO THE END OF THE PEDAL. FIRST, I CHANGED THE ROTORS AND PEDALS BUT IT CONTINUED TO HAD A PROBLEM, WENT TO A PEPBOYS WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED A MASTER CYLINDER PROBLEM. ORDERED THE PART AND WENT TO THE DEALER IN MAYAGUEZ FORD IN PUERTO RICO WHERE THEY INSTALLED THE PART AND THEY TOLD ME IT HAD A RECALL FOR THE BOOSTER OF THE BRAKES, INSTALLED IT FREE OF CHARGE, BUT THE SAME DAY THEY CHANGED THE PARTS, I STILL HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH NO BRAKES FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND THEN IT STABILIZED. IT HAPPENS A COUPLE OF TIMES A DAY. DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO NEXT.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT; DOORS UNLOCK IN DRIVE; DOORS UNLOCK IN PARK AFTER PRESSING LOCK; SAFETY ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE PASSENGERS MAY OPEN DOOR WHILE IN MOTION; PEOPLE COULD ENTER FROM OUTSIDE WHILE CAR IS PARKED OR STOPPED WHILE IN TRANSIT. PROBLEM HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE AT LEAST JANUARY 2014
DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON EVEN WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED. YOU ARE LEFT UNSURE IF THE DOOR IS CLOSED PROPERLY. IT DRAINS THE BATTERY OVER TIME AS IT LEAVES THE LIGHTS ON INSIDE. MY PASSENGER DOOR AJAR LIGHT/ALARM COMES ON RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, AND SOMETIMES IT HAPPENS AFTER SOMEONE GETS IN AND SHUTS THE DOOR. THIS WEEKEND IT HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT DURING TERRIBLE RAIN...CAUSING THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO COME ON AND NEARLY BLIND THE DRIVER(ME). IT DOESN'T SEEM TO KNOW WHEN THE DOOR IS OPEN/CLOSED. THIS ALSO KEEPS THE CAR FROM LOCKING CORRECTLY...IT AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCKS BECAUSE IT THINKS THE DOOR IS OPEN. LAST- THE LIGHT WILL REMAIN ON WHEN YOU EXIT THE VEHICLE WHICH ENDS UP KILLING THE BATTERY. YOU MIGHT THINK IT IS OK- BUT IT JUST DECIDES TO TRIGGER THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR AND LIGHTS ARE ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, AFTER I THOUGHT IT WAS LOCKED UP AND SECURE FOR THE NIGHT. IT ALSO MAKES ME WONDER IF THE DOOR LATCH IS NOT WORKING AND THE PASSENGER MAY BE AT RISK OF FALLING OUT OF THE CAR. FORD WANTS 450.00 TO FIX A SAFETY PROBLEM THAT IS WIDELY COMPLAINED ABOUT AND SHOULD BE REMEDIED WITHOUT COST TO CONSUMER. *TR
DRIVERS DOOR LOCK STAYS OPEN WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED, DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME I'M DRIVING, DOME LIGHTS STAY ON WHEN I START DRIVING AND FINALLY GO OFF, DOME LIGHTS AND PARKING LIGHTS ARE ON FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD AFTER I HAVE PARKED THE CAR. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE WHEN I START DRIVING ALL THE LIGHTS IN THE CAR ARE ON AND I CAN'T TELL IF ON GOING TRAFFIC IS COMING OR NOT AT NIGHT, VERY DANGEROUS FOR ANYONE GOING THROUGH THIS PROBLEM.
DRIVERS DOOR LATCH HAD TO BE REPLACED AS THE WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH WOULD NOT GO OFF AND EVENTUALLY THE DOOM LIGHT STAYED ON OVER NIGHT AS WELL. IF THE CAR WAS RUNNING, THE WARNING LIGHT WAS ON.
DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN THE DOOR IS COMPLETELY CLOSED/LATCHED. THAT DOES NOT ALLOW TO LOCK THE DOORS AUTOMATICALLY (AFTER THE SPEED IS MORE THAN 5 MPH) OR EVEN MANUALLY SINCE THEY UNLOCK IMMEDIATELY. THAT IS A SAFETY CONCERN. ALSO, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON UNTIL YOU DRIVE, BLINDING YOU AND THIS CAN BE A SAFETY ISSUE AT NIGHT.
REAR PASSENGER DOOR SAYS AJAR. LIGHTS STAY ON. IN THE DARK BACKING UP AND YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO SEE CLEARLY WHAT IS BEHIND YOU BECAUSE THE LIGHTS CAN NOT BE TURNED OFF INSIDE UNTIL YOU START DRIVING FORWARD AND HIT 5MPH.
THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ON EVEN THOUGH ALL DOORS OR CLOSED. THE PROBLEM IS THAT INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON AND DOORS WILL NOT LOCK EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS OFF. THIS DRAINS AND KILLS THE BATTERY. FORD STATES NO RECALLS. AFTER RESEARCHING ON INTERNET, THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING WITH FORD MODELS FOR YEARS WITH NO FIXES.
THE DOOR LATCH SENSOR IS FAILING CAUSING THE CAR TO BELIEVE DOOR IS UNLATCHED. THIS LEAVES DOME LIGHT ON INSIDE CAR EVEN WHILE DRIVING. I UNDERSTAND FORD HAS RECALLED OTHER MODELS FOR THIS FAILURE BUT NOT EDGE. *TR
UNABLE TO PASS EMISSIONS BECAUSE THE SYSTEM RESETS ITSELF ON RESTART RESULTING IN MY EMISSIONS TEST SENSORS REPORTING INCOMPLETE INSTEAD OF COMPLETE. DOOR AJAR SWITCH NOT WORKING PROPERLY
WHILE DRIVING IN 4 LANE ROAD IN INSIDE LANE STILL MOVING WANTING TO MAKE LEFT TURN. (AWD OFF LIGHT) CAME ON AND (WRENCH ICON), LUCKY ENOUGH TO LIMP I DID GET OFF THE RIGHT SIDE INTO A PARKING LOT. THE DRIVERS DOOR AJAR WARNING WAS ACTIVATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE DOOR WAS ACTUALLY CLOSED. THE SAFETY ISSUE WAS THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WERE ON WHILE DRIVING, THE DOORS COULD NOT BE LOCKED WHEN DRIVING AND THE BATTERY WAS DRAINED WHEN THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF FOR THE NIGHT. THERE IS A SAFETY BULLETIN ISSUED ON THE DOOR LATCH AND ASSEMBLY. THE DEALER CHARGED $468.00 TO REPLACE THE DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY. THE DOCUMENTATION IS THE DEALERSHIP PAPERWORK GIVEN WHEN I PAID THE BILL. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR LATCH WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE REAR DRIVER-SIDE DOOR INDICATOR SWITCH HAS BECOME UNRELIABLE. IT NOW INDICATES THE REAR DRIVER-SIDE DOOR IS OPEN A MAJORITY OF THE TIME. BECAUSE THE CAR THINKS THE DOOR IS NOT CLOSED, INTERIOR LIGHTS DO NOT DIM RELIABLY AND THE DOORS NO LONGER LOCK RELIABLY. I DON'T GET THE OPTION TO DO SO UNTIL THE CAR IS WELL UNDER WAY.

THE APIM IS BAD, NO RADIO, CAN TURN HEAT/AIR ON BUT CANNOT CONTROL, DOESN'T LIGHT UP PAYING FOR SIREN RADIO AND CANNOT USE IT. THOUGHT IT WAS SOMETHING SIMPLE, FOUND OUT DIFFERENT. HAD BACK UP CAMERA FIXED PREVIOUSLY AND THE NEXT THING WAS THIS PROBLEM.
MY DRIVER DOOR OPEN LIGHT STAYS LIT SOMETIMES WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED. WHEN THIS HAPPENS DOORS WILL NOT LOCK WHEN VEHICLE IS PUT INTO GEAR. HAVE TO OPEN AND CLOSE DOOR NUMEROUS TIMES BEFORE IT GOES OUT. STARTED HAPPENING AROUND 8 MONTHS AGO AND NOW HAPPENS MORE FREQUENTLY.

MANUALLY FLIPPING THE SWITCH UP WITH FINGERS SOMETIMES WORKS, BUT NOT RELIABLE AND SEEMS TO BE A CONCERN FOR DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE HEARING AIR COMING IN BECAUSE THE DOOR ISN'T SECURELY LATCHED. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY FORD AS IT SEEMS TO BE AN ENGINEERING ERROR. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.

REALLY TWO COMPLAINTS: 1) DASH/CENTER CONSOLE LIGHTS NOT SHUTTING DOWN PROPERLY AND REPEATEDLY TURN ON/OFF WHEN CAR IS TURNED OFF. RESULTS IN BATTERY DRAW AND FREQUENT DEAD BATTERIES AND 2) DOOR LATCH WARNING LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF AND DOORS DO NOT LOCK PROPERLY WHEN BEING DRIVEN.
