AXEL SEAL WAS DAMAGED CAUSING TRANSMISSION FLUID TO LEAK. HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO SIGN OF A LEAK DUE TO IT CAKING ON TO THE UNDERCARRIAGE CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION TO FRY.
I JUST CAME OUT OF A STATE INSPECTION A FEW MONTHS LATER THE ENGINE OVERHEATS AND THE CAR JUST SHUTS OFF. NOW, IF I HAD ONE FORD I WOULD NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THIS, BUT I HAVE MORE THAN ONE AND THE SAME THING HAS HAPPENED. NOW, AT TIMES WHERE THERE'S A RECALL, BUT WHEN THEY HAVE OTHER ITEMS THAT GET FIXED WITHOUT A RECALL, WE NEVER HEAR ABOUT THAT. I KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED ON THIS CAR, BUT MY FORD FOCUS, AND IT HAPPENS AFTER A CAR HAS BEEN IN FOR SERVICE LATELY DURING THE VIRUS WORST FOR SOME REASON. THIS IS A DANGER AND COULD KILL SOMEONE ON A FREEWAY. AS WHEN THE CAR STOPPED ON A RECALL BEFORE. FROM THE DOORS OPENING ON THE FREEWAY TO THIS MESS. FORD NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED AT A HIGHER LEVEL. I DO KNOW MY ANTIFREEZE HAS BEEN WATER DOWN AS I FOUND OUT TODAY, UCZ THEIR ORANGE FLUID HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED FOR OVER A YEAR I WAS TOLD.
TWO DIFFERENT TIMES WHILE DRIVING, THE ENGINE STARTED MISSING, NO POWER. GOT TO EDGE OF ROAD, SHUT CAR OFF. RE STARTED AND IT WAS FINE. TODAY (1/10/2021 POWER STEERING QUIT WORKING WHILE IN LINE TO GET COFFEE. MADE IT HOME BARELY, SHUT OFF CAR, NOW IT'S WORKING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING COOLANT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SHULTS FORD SOUTH (900 REGIS AVE, WEST MIFFLIN, PA 15236) BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V551000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE STATED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 66,000.
DANGEROUS INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WHERE VEHICLE STALLS WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING. THIS REQUIRES THE DRIVER TO PULL OVER, STOP, PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTART THE ENGINE. FREQUENTLY ONCE IT STALLS, IT IS NOT SAFE TO PULL BACK OUT INTO TRAFFIC RIGHT AWAY BECAUSE IT USUALLY STALLS AGAIN. I REPLACED THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP, BUT THE CAR CONTINUES TO STALLS AT RANDOM WHILE DRIVING. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARS.
THERE HAS BEEN MULTIPLE COOLANT LINE ISSUES RESULT IN THE CAR STOPPING IMMEDIATELY NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE. THERE HAS BEEN A PREVIOUS STATED ISSUE I DO NOT FEEL LIKE MY CAR WAS FIXED PROPERLY BEFORE BUYING IT AND THE RECALL SHOULD BE REOPENED AND CONSIDERED AN HAZARDOUS ISSUE. I HAVE BEEN STRANDED, LEFT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD UNSAFELY, THERE IS LITTLE TO NO WARNINGS. THE VEHICLE WILL SHUT ITSELF OFF IF YOU CAN'T PULL OVER IN TIME. IT WILL END UP HURTING PEOPLE IF IT ISN'T RESOLVED. THERE IS A CURRENT CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OPEN FOR IT, I DON'T WANT THAT I JUST WANT MY VEHICLE SAFE. I ACTUALLY LOVE IT. IT HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES I ALWAYS HAVRE COOLANT WITH ME
VEHICLE STALLS AND BUCKS AT LOW IDLE OR AT A STOP. WATER PUMP, TIMING BELT AS WELL AS VCT SOLENOIDS AND CAM PHASERS REPLACED.
LOSS OF COOLANT APPROXIMATELY EVERY 45 DAYS. NO VISIBLE SIGNS OF LEAKING AND A PRESSURE TEST DID NOT SHOW ANY NON VISIBLE LEAKS. YET I HAVE TO REFILL AFTER A LOW COOLANT ERROR AS STATED. A GOOGLE SEARCH FOUND QUITE A FEW OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM ON THE 2013 MODEL.
I HAVE A FORD 2013 ESCAPE. IT FIRST STATRED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE HEADLIGHTS KEEP BLOWING. I HAD TO REPLACE 4 IN THE PASS 2 YEARS. NOW THE BACK BRAKE LIGHTS KEEP SAYING FAULTY. THE BULB POPS OUT . I HAVE TO PUSH IT BACK INTO PLACE. THEN ITS OUT AGAIN. NOW THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM IS FAULTY . PLUS THE TRANS MISSON IS FAULTY OR EVERYTIME I SHIFT THE GEAR INTO DRIVE IT CUTS OFF. I HAVE TO PUT IT TO NEUTRAL AND THEN IT MOVES. WHEN I GET TO THE SPEED 50 OR 60MPH THECAR TREMBLES. IM AFRAID THAT I MAY WRECK.
The coolant runs low and puffs smoke from the exhaust each morning upon startup. This is consistant with recall # 12V551, but my VIN is not included in that recall. It has the same exact issues, so I would like this to be covered before our engine blows up.

(944 MAIN ST, HOLDEN, MA 0152; (508) 829-4333) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS COOLANT IN THE CYLINDER AND THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
SLOW COOLANT LEAK THAT IS NOT VISIBLE ANYWHERE. REPORT SHOWS RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE & VEHICLE WAS SERVICED; HOWEVER, PROBLEM STILL EXISTS.
WHEN IDLING THE ENGINE WILL STALL. IT WILL START RIGHT BACK UP BUT SOMETIMES WILL STALL AGAIN WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE. OFTEN THERE ISOK NO POWER WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE.. I HAVE HAD TO PUT COOLANT IN AT LEAST TWICE IN 2 MONTHS. THE VEHICLE OVERHEATS AND FORCES ME TO PULL OVER. NONE OF THE GAGES INDICATE OVERHEAT.
CAR IS STALLING NONE STOP
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Escape. The contact stated that coolant was leaking from the vehicle. The contact added additional coolant, but within a week half of the coolant had leaked out. The engine was hot, and a message to “Pull Over” was displayed. The vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to locate the leak. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed about a recall however, the contact declined the repairs. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 89,621. The VIN was not available.
ON MY 2013 FORD ESCAPE WHENEVER I POUR COOLANT IN IT AUTOMATICALLY LEAKS. IT HAS BEEN SMOKING, OVERHEATING AND DANGEROUS. I NEED THE CAR FIXED. I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH AUTONATION FORD MARGATE AT 5401 W COPANS RD, MARGATE, FL 33063 AND WHEN I GOT THERE THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD BE A CHARGE TO DIAGNOSE. FORD SHOULD BE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND READY TO FIX IT FOR THE CUSTOMER. THERE HAS ALREADY BEEN A RECALL FOR THIS AND NEED IT FIXED FOR FREE.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY 2013 FORD ESCAPE 1.6L ' THE COOLANT LIGHT SERVICE REQUIRED LIGHT INDICATOR HAS BEEN COMING ON. I FIRST WOULD FILL THE COOLANT RESERVOIR WITH ANTIFREEZE AND A MONTH OR SO LATER THE LIGHT WOULD COME ON AGAIN. I WOULD REPEAT THE PROCESS. I BROUGHT IT IN TO BAY STATE FORD IN EASTON, MASSACHUSETTS AND WAS INFORMED THAT MY WATER PUMP WAS THE CAUSE OF THE LEAK. ($1,500). I HAD THEM REPAIR IT. I GOT THE CAR BACK AND A MONTH OR 2 LATER THE COOLANT LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. I BROUGHT IT BACK AND THEY DID DIAGNOSTICS ON (COMPRESSION TESTS) AND INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO LEAKS AND THAT THERE MIGHT HAVE BEEN AIR POCKETS THAT CAUSED IT. I TOOK MY CAR BACK AGAIN AND WITHIN 1 MONTH THE COOLANT LIGHT CAME BACK ON AGAIN. AGAIN, THEY DO DIAGNOSTICS AND SAID THERE WAS NO LEAK AND BLAMED AIR POCKETS. I TOOK IT BACK AND WITHIN 1 TO 2 WEEKS THE COOLANT LIGHT CAME BACK ON AGAIN. THEY LOOK AT IT AGAIN AND DID THE SAME DIAGNOSTICS AND NOW TELL ME THAT THERE IS AN INTERNAL LEAK AND THAT IT COULD BE WITHIN THE ENGINE AND WANTED MY APPROVAL TO PERFORM MORE DIAGNOSTICS AT MY EXPENSE AS THEY WERE NOT SURE WHERE THE LEAK IS COMING FROM INTERNALLY. THIS COULD COST ME THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS AS THEY THINK IT COULD BE THE ENGINE. THIS VEHICLE IS ONLY 7 YEARS OLD AND SHOULD NOT BE LEAKING COOLANT INTERNALLY AND I ALREADY REPLACED THE WATER PUMP. THEY TOLD ME MY CHOICES ARE TO TRADE UP TO A NEW CAR OR PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF ENGINE IF INDEED THAT IS THE ISSUE. THIS IS NOT FAIR TO ME. THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE AND THAT I HAD A 2.0 ENGINE. (I DO NOT HAVE A 2.0 ENGINE, I HAVE A 1.6L ENGINE). RECALL NUMBER 12V551000 IS AN ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING ISSUE AND IT SOUNDS THAT MY FORD ESCAPE IS PART OF OR SHOULD BE PART OF THIS RECALL.
I WAS DRIVING HOME WHEN THE ENGINE TO MY 2013 FORD ESCAPE STARTED SMOKING ENOUGH TO ENGULF THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE WITH BLACK SMOKE. THE ENGINE THEN CAUGHT FIRE WHILE I WAS STILL IN DRIVE. I PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND JUMPED OUT WHEN IN A MATTER OF SECONDS THE ENTIRE ENGINE WAS IN FLAMES, SECONDS AFTER THAT THE WHOLE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPT. CAME TO PUT IT OUT. THE FIRE DEPT. LEFT AND THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED. APPROXIMATELY 45 MINUTES LATER, THE CAR STARTED ON FIRE AGAIN. THIS TIME IT WAS LETTING OFF SMALL EXPLOSIONS' OF SPARKS. THE FIRE DEPT. CAME AGAIN AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. I ASKED THEM IF THEY HAD ANY IDEA WHAT CAUSED IT. ONE FIRE FIGHTER'S REPLY WAS "NO IDEA, I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANY THING LIKE THIS BEFORE IN MY LIFE" THE CAR HAD 89000 MILES ON AND HAD BEEN INSPECTED BY FORD A FEW MONTHS AGO WITH NO COMPLICATIONS FOUND IN THE ENGINE. THE HEAT GAUGE NEVER RAISED TO MAKE MYSELF, THE DRIVER AWARE OF ANY OVER HEATING. THE FIRE STARTED RIGHT INFRONT OF MY HOME AS I WAS PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY WHILE I WAS STILL IN DRIVE/MOTION.
THE CAR HAS STALLING ISSUES. WHEN I START IT IT CHUGS AND STALLS. I RESTART IT AND DRIVE APPROXIMATELY 15 MILES. LET THE CAR SIT A FEW MINUTES AND GET IN TO DRIVE AWAY AND IT STALLS AGAIN. IT ALSO INTERMITTENTLY STALLS WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I ALSO HAVE A HEATING ISSUE. I PURCHASED THE CAR DEC.26. 2020 AND IT HAS BEEN IN THE FORD SERVICE DEPT SINCE JAN 4, 2021. ONLY THE HEAT HAS BEEN GBEING LOOKED AT. THE STALLING HASNT BEEN LOOKED INTO . HEAT ONLY WORKS WHEN ACCELERATING.
APPARENTLY BATTERY BEING DRAINED AND CAR WON'T START IN THE MORNING. SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR. HAD DIAGNOSTICS DONE. BATTERY REPLACED N MAY 2020, ALTERNATOR REPLACED IN NOVEMBER 2020. AAA ROAD REPAIR SAID BATTERY, ALTERNATOR & STARTER ALL WORKING FINE. ONLY 55,000 MILES ON 2013 ESCAPE SEL 4WD W/2.0L 14 GTDI ECOBOOST ENGINE. SHOULD HAVE A PARASITIC DRAW TEST? WAKE UP' ISSUES? MY 2013 FORD ESCAPE 1.6L STALLS AT LOW SPEEDS. THIS OCCURS RANDOMLY WHEN THE CAR IS MOVING AT A SLOW SPEED. FOR EXAMPLE WHEN APPROACHING A STOP SIGN ON A CITY STREET. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES, TOO NUMEROUS TO COUNT.
A MONTH AGO WE FILLED THE COOLANT UP AFTER NOTICING IT WAS LOW. LAST WEEK WHEN I STARTED IT UP IT IMMEDIATELY SHUT OFF. I STARTED IT UP AGAIN AND IT ONLY STAYED RUNNING IF I GAVE IT SOME GAS. DROVE IT ABOUT 2 MILES AND WHEN I ARRIVED BACK HOME I GOT THE WARNING TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. IT THEN KILLED ALL THE POWER TO THE VEHICLE. STATED IT WAS OVERHEATING. THE RESERVOIR WAS ALMOST EMPTY OF COOLANT. FILLED IT BACK UP AND THE MESSAGES WERE GONE. DROVE IT TO GET THE CODES PULLED. SEE PICTURE. WAITING TO HEAR BACK ABOUT WHAT IT MAY BE BUT THE MECHANIC SEEMED TO THINK IT'S THE HEAD GASKET. ONLY 90K MILES ARE YOU KIDDING?
EVERY WINTER WHILE DRIVING MY 2013 FORD ESCAPE INFO SCREEN DISPLAYS "HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE AND ABS ICON FLASHES. THE RADIO ALSO GOES OFF AND ON. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS TO GET THIS CORRECTED AND I AM TOLD THEY COULD NOT SEE ANY CODES FOR THIS PROBLEM. IN OTHER WORDS I AM LYING. I AM SURE BY CHECKING WITH OTHERS, I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. I HOPE THAT THIS CAN BE RESOLVED BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW IF AND WHEN THIS WILL EFFECT ANYTHING ELSE.
WHEN AT A COMPLETE STOP AND IN EITHER DRIVE OR REVERSE, THE ENGINE RPM WILL DROP SUBSTANTIALLY, THE CAR WILL SHAKE AND SHUDDER AND OFTEN STALL COMPLETELY. THERE ARE NO WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH AND NO VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC CODES.
MY 2013 FORD ESCAPE IS LOSING COOLANT. IT IS NOT LEAKING ON GROUND. I HAVE HAD IT IN 3 TIMES TO FORD AND LOCAL MECHANIC AND THEY CANNOT FIND A LEAK. THEY SAY IT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I NEED TO FILL IT EVERY COUPLE OF MONTHS. I BOUGHT THE CAR IN 2.5 YEARS AGO AND IT HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM.
COOLANT SYSTEM LEAKING CONSTANTLY
WARNING CAME ON STATING ENGINE WAS OVERHEATING AND TO PULL OVER SAFELY. AFTER SITTING FOR 3 DAYS, TRIED TO START THE CAR AGAIN, WITH THE SAME WARNING. THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN OVERHEATED AT THIS TIME. COULD NOT DRIVE VEHICLE WITH THIS WARNING. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED HOME.
ON AT LEAST FOUR OCCASIONS, VEHICLE HAS ISSUED WARNING OF OVERHEATING. FIRST TWO TIMES WERE IN FL AS MY DAUGHTER WAS LEAVING HOME, HEADED TO WORK. SHE WAS GOING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH. THE CAR STALLED ON HER. THE WARNING STATES TO PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY AND STOP THE CAR. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN ON 12/18/20 AS MY DAUGHTER WAS LEAVING WORK. SHE STARTED THE CAR AND IMMEDIATELY THE WARNING SOUNDED, THE CAR SPUTTERED AND DIED COMPLETELY. THE COOLANT WAS BELOW THE NORMAL RANGE, SO WE WENT BACK TWO DAYS LATER WITH ANTIFREEZE (SHE IS NOW LIVING IN NE). WE TOPPED OFF THE COOLANT TANK AND WE WERE ABLE TO DRIVE IT HOME AT NORMAL INTERSTATE TRAVEL APPROX 5 MILES. ON 12/24/20, I WENT OUT TO START THE CAR AND THE WARNING HAPPENED, AGAIN. THE ENGINE SHOWED AT THE HOTEST LEVEL, SPUTTERED AND DIED. THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL FOR POTENTIAL ENGINE COOLANT LEAK. HOWEVER, HER VIN IS NOT LISTED UNDER THIS RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO STALL WHILE A WARNING MESSAGE TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER APPEARED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OVERHEATED AND THAT THERE WAS NO COOLANT IN THE RESERVOIR. UPON RESTART OF THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE UPON DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT TOWED THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS A COOLANT LEAK HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE SOURCE OF THE LEAK. TED RUSSELL FORD LINCOLN (8551 KINGSTON PIKE, KNOXVILLE, TN 37919) WAS ALSO NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V431000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) WHICH SHE LINKED TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
CAR STARTS TO SPUTTER THEN JUST DIE WHILE DRIVING ALMOST CAUSING A REAR END COLLISION. THIS IS NOW THE 9TH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A MAIN ROADWAY.
CODE P0741 (TORQUR CONVERTER CLUTCH CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE STUCK OFF) COMES UP. TRANSMISSION SLAMS WHEN PUTTING INTO DRIVE OR REVERSE AND THEN ALMOST STALLS. BUT SHIFTS AND DRIVES FINE
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ON 12/10/2020 AND THE VEHICLE SOUNDS LIKE A REMOTE CONTROL CAR WHEN IT IS EXCELLERANTED. WHY???? IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY TRANSMISSION OR MOTOR. I HAD A 2014 FORD ESCAPE (VIN #[XXX]) BEFORE THIS AND IT MADE THE SAME SOUND AND WAS TOLD THE TRANSMISSION AND THE ENGINE WERE SHOOT. I HAD TO JUNK THE 2014 AND PURCHASED THE 2013. HELP??!!! MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 80MPH WHEN THE SPEED SUDDENLY DECEASED DRASTICALLY AND SUDDENLY TO ABOUT 10MPH. A WARNING MESSAGE APPEARED STATING 'TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK. SELECT P.' I DO NOT KNOW THE CAUSE OF THIS INCIDENT. TEMPERATURE OF THE CAR WAS NORMAL AND THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS SHOWN ON THE DASH (ENGINE LIGHT, GAS LIGHT, ETC).
MY COOLANT LEVELS BECOME LOW ABOUT EVERY TWO WEEKS. I'M ALERTED BY MY DASH LIGHT, I FILL THEN CHECK FOR LEEKS. NO VISIBLE LEEKS BUT COOLANT KEEPS NEEDING REFILLING. I HAVE ALMOST OVERHEATED ONCE AND CAR WHEN INTO LIMP MODE UNTIL GOT DOWN TO A REASONABLE TEMP. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE LONG DISTANCES IF FEAR I'LL BE STRANDED BECAUSE OVERHEATED.
IN JANUARYAND FEBRUARY OF 2019 I TOOK MY 2013 FORD ESCAPE TO SONORA FORD IN SONORA,CA BECAUSE IT STARTED STALLING ON ME. IT HAPPENED USUALLY AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE AND DRIVING 50 TO 100 FEET AND THEN IT WOULD START TO SPUTTER AND DIE. I GOT NO LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. IT SEEMS TO DO IT EVERY TWO OR THREE STOPS. SONORA FORD CHECKED IT AND SAID THEY WOULD HAVE TO CHECK IT LATER THEY TOLD ME SOMETHING WAS WRONG IN THE MANIFOLD BUT THEY WOULD HAVE TO TERRET DOWN TO FIND OUT. THEY SAID I WHAT IS MISSING A BOLT IN MY MANIFOLD GASKET. THE MANIFOLD GASKET WAS REPLACED BUT AFTER ONE WEEK IT WAS STILL WAS STALLING. I TOOK IT BACK A WEEK LATER AND THE MANAGER OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT DROVE IT HOME TO HIS HOUSE WHILE IT WAS HOOKED UP TO SOME MACHINEAND FOUND NOTHING WRONG. THEY TOLD ME THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT. I TOOK IT HOME AND AFTER A FEW WEEKS THE STALLING SEEMED TO STOP ON ITS OWN UNTIL NOVEMBER 2020 NOW IT'S STALLING AGAIN. I WENT ON THE INTERNET AND LOOKED UP MY CAR AND FOUND THAT THERE'S BEEN TROUBLE FOR YEARS WITH THIS CAR STALLING BUT SONORA FORD DID NOT BOTHER TO TELL ME THIS. THERE HAS BEEN SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS AS I PULL INTO TRAFFIC AND THE CAR STALLED BUT YESTERDAY I HAD MY TWO YOUNGER GRANDCHILDREN IN THE CAR AND IT SEEM TO BE FINE AND I PULLED OUT IN TRAFFIC, AFTER ABOUT 20 YARDS IT STALLED AND THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME HAD TO SLAM ON THEIR BRAKES AND SWERVE TO AVOID REAR ENDING ME. I AM SENDING YOU THIS EMAIL ON A SATURDAY. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT ON TUESDAY, THE 8TH OF DECEMBER FOR MY 5000 MILE OIL CHANGE AND I PLAN ON TELLING THE DEALERSHIP THAT THEY NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. LOSS OF COOLANT APPROXIMATELY EVERY 45 DAYS. NO VISIBLE SIGNS OF LEAKINF AND A PRESSURE TEST DID NOT SHOW ANY NON VISIBLE LEAKS. YET I HAVE TO REFILL AFTER A LOW COOLANT ERROR AS STATED. A GOOGLE SEARCH FOUND QUITE A FEW OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM ON THE 2013 MODEL.
FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS OUR ESCAPE WILL STALL OUT WHILE DRIVING WHEN THE WEATHER IS COLD BUT AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN IN MOTION FOR MORE THAN 20 MINUTES, THIS HAS BEEN TERRIFYING WITH MY CHILD IN THE CAR WE HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN SEVERAL ACCIDENTS DUE TO THE CAR JUST STALLING OUT WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC, WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER AND OTHER MECHANICS AND NOBODY CAN FIGURE IT OUT WE HAVE REPAIRED THE TURBO AND CATALYTIC CONVERTER AMONG OTHER VARIOUS REPAIRS THAT HAVE COST US THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS AND NOTHING HAS FIXED THIS ISSUE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE! I'VE ALMOST BEEN HIT BY A SEMI ON THE FREEWAY BECAUSE MY CAR STALLED OUT WHILE DRIVING IT! IT HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY.

LEAKED COOLANT TO THE ENGINE FORD SHOULD TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ISSUE. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUES BUT FORD DOESN'T WANT TO TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS LOSING ANTI-FREEZE PREMATURELY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST PERFORMED THAT LOCATED THE FAILURE THAT THE ENGINE CYLINDER CUP PLUG WAS NOT SECURED TO THE CYLINDER HEAD CAUSING THE ANTIFREEZE LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
MY CAR HAS HAD MANY ISSUES WITH COOLANT LEAKING, AND VERY STRONG BURNING SMELLS, ESPECIALLY WHEN ON A HILL, IDLING, OR AFTER RUNNING FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. FORD PREVIOUSLY RECALLED CERTAIN 2013 AND 2014 FORD VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THE 1.6L ENGINE FOR A SIMILAR ISSUE UNDER RECALL CAMPAIGNS 12V551 AND 17V209, BUT EVEN THOUGH MY CAR HAS HAD THIS RECALL "FIXED", THE ISSUES IS NOT TAKEN CARE OF.
POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING IN JACKSONVILLE, FL. THE VEHICLE IS VERY HARD TO STEER, ESPECIALLY WHEN DRIVING SLOW. WE BOUGHT THIS 2013 FORD ESCAPE SEL BRAND NEW IN 2013 FROM PARKWAY FORD IN DICKINSON, NORTH DAKOTA. I HAVE READ ONLINE THAT MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THEIR POWER STEERING GOING OUT. THE CODE ON MY VEHICLE IS: U3000:53-C8 FROM A CODE READER. ENGINE FAULT - SERVICE NOW LIGHT HAS COME ON AT LEAST ONCE/YEAR. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE CAR HESITATES AND RIDES ROUGH. I CONTACT THE FORD DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY TO HAVE THEM FIX THE PROBLEM. THE FORD DEALERSHIP HAS WORKED ON THE CAR BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM. SHOULD I BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRS?
MY 2013 FORD ESCAPE CONTINUES TO LOSE ENGINE COOLANT. I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN TO GARY SMITH FORD OF FORT WALTON BCH FL AFTER RESEARCHING AND FINDING THE VEHICLE HAD A RECALL 13S12. THIS RECALL WAS COMPLETED ON MY VEHICLE 23-JULY-14 BY AUTONATION FORD OF JACKSONVILLE FL AT THE TIME OF REPAIR THE VEHICLE HAD 42780. I'M NOT THE ORIGINAL OWNER HOWEVER THE RECALL WAS SUPPOSE TO BE THE REMEDY TO FIX THE PROBLEM I'M NOW HAVING. I'M BEING TOLD I HAVE COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE #3 CYLINDER AND WILL REQUIRE A ENGINE REPLACEMENT. NOT TO MENTION A POSSIBLE ENGINE FIRE. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT FORD'S FIX FOR THIS IS. I'M SURE CONSUMERS WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THAT THEY ONLY HAVE LIMITED AMOUNT OF MILES ON THEIR ENGINES. MY VEHICLE HAS A 140K MILES AND WELL MAINTAINED ONLY TO FIND OUT IT NO LONGER ANY GOOD BECAUSE OF EITHER A DESIGN FLAW OR JUST A POOR PRODUCT. I'VE GONE FROM TAKING MY CAR IN TO BE SERVICED FOR WHAT SEEMED TO BE SOMETHING MINOR TO NEEDING A COMPLETE MOTOR REPLACEMENT AND FORD MOTOR CO IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. SO AT THIS TIME I HAVE TO MONITOR MY COOLANT LEVELS SO MY VEHICLE DOESN'T OVERHEAT AND PRAY THE VEHICLE DOESN'T CATCH FIRE. HOWEVER IF IT DOES CATCH FIRE I GUESS THAT WILL JUST BE A ISSUE BETWEEN ME AND MY INSURANCE COMPANY. I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW FORD MOTOR CO CAN BE ALLOWED TO DO THIS.
WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE STALLS THEN SHUTS DOWN . THEN WHILE JUST DRIVING IT DOES THE SAME. THIS HAPPENS WHILE ACTIVELY DRIVING THE CAR .
MY CAR WAS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY AND ONE DAY I RECEIVED AN ERROR CODE THAT SAID POWER ASSIST FAULT. WHEN I BEGAN DRIVING I REALIZED THAT MY CAR HAD ESSENTIALLY LOST IT'S POWER STEERING. THE CAR BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE. AFTER DRIVING A BIT THE POWER STEERING WOULD RANDOMLY BEGIN TO WORK AGAIN. I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND I FOUND THAT MANY TIMES, WHILE GOING AROUND A CURVE, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD LOCK UP. THEN THE WHEEL WOULD BECOME LOOSE AGAIN. I HAVE NEEDED TO USE THE CAR SINCE THAT TIME AND THESE PROBLEMS PERSIST.
WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE DIED AFTER GIVING A HIGH TEMPERATURE WARNING & THE ENGINE CAME ON. ONCE COOLED IT WOULD NOT DRIVE FORWARD ON IN REVERSE. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND HAS HAD MULTIPLE PREVIOUS ISSUES.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR HAS STALLED SEVERAL TIMES. IT ALSO WILL LEAK COOLANT SOMETIMES IM ABLE TO SEE THE PUDDLE UNDER THE CAR PARKED BUT SOMETIMES NO PUDDLE WHICH MEANS ITS LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE. THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ALSO WILL GO HAYWIRE AND SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING THE NEEDLES WILL FALL TO THE BOTTOM SHOOT TO THE TOP AND IT WILL HAVE AN ENGINE WARMING AND SOMETIMES JUST SHUTS OFF ALL TOGETHER EVEN THOUGH THE CAR IS STILL MECHANICALLY ON AND RUNNING. THERE ARE SEVERAL RECALLS THAT ALL COVER THESE ISSUES IM HAVING HOWEVER MY VEHICLE IS NOT LISTED IN THE EFFECTED VEHICLES. THESE ISSUES HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING IN ANY CAPACITY OR PARKED. IT HAS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY THE FREEWAY THE SIDE STREETS WHILE PARKED WHILE MOVING SLOWLY. IT HAS BECOME AN ISSUE THAT IM WORRIED TO DEAL WITH BECAUSE I DONT HAVE THE FUNDS TO FIX THE CAR BUT THE CAR IS SO UNSAFE IM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. I DO HAVE A VIDEO OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL MESSING UP IF ITS NEEDED.

2013 FORD ESCAPE ECOBOOST 1.6 MY VEHICLE STALLS AT LOW SPEEDS OR WHILE IDLING. THIS ONLY SEEMS TO HAPPEN AFTER THE VEHICLE IS WARM. IT NEVER HAPPENS FIRST THING IN THE MORNING ONLY AFTER I HAVE PARKED THE VEHICLE FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF MAYBE 30 MIN OR LESS OR WHILE IDLING. SOMETIMES THE RPM WOULD SHOOT UP TO 6 AND THE VEHICLE FEELS LIKE IT IS THRUSTING FORWARD AFTER WHICH IT WOULD EITHER STALL IMMEDIATELY OR I AM ABLE TO KEEP DRIVING WITHOUT ISSUE. IT HAS HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION AND LUCKILY THERE WAS A POLICE OFFICER PASSING AND HE WAS ABLE TO ESCORT ME TO A SIDE STREET WHILE THE VEHICLE STALLED A REAL TIMES TO GET THERE. BEFORE I PULL ON TO A ROAD AFTER STALLING I HAVE WITH TRAFFIC I HAVE TO DRIVE AROUND THE PARKING LOT TO MAKE SURE THAT THE VEHICLE WILL NOT STALL AGAIN BEFORE PULLING INTO TRAFFIC. THIS HAS ALSO HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY ON RAMP AFTER I HAD JUST REFUELED. ONCE THE VEHICLE PASSES THE STALLING ISSUE IT DRIVES WITHOUT ISSUE. I HAVE SO FAR REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND FLP SENSOR AND THIS HAS NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM. THIS HAS ALSO HAPPENED IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. I AM ACTUALLY SCARED FOR MY LIFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. I WON'T ALLOW MY DAUGHTER TO DRIVE IT FOR FEAR IT MAY KILL HER.
