PENNY NOVEMBER 2, 2018 AT 3:06 PM MY 2013 FORD ESCAPE HAS QUIT RUNNING WHILE DRIVING ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASION AND HAS STALLED SEVERAL TIMES ONCE I HAD MY DAUGHTER WITH ME PULLING OUT INTO THE HIGHWAY BARELY COASTING OUT OF THE WAY OF TRAFFIC THEN AGAIN TURNING AT A INTERSECTION. JUST THIS WEEK LEFT ME STRANDED OUT OF TOWN PULLING OUT AGAIN INTO A HIGHWAY THEN QUITTING AND HAD TO BE TOWED THEY COULD NOT FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS ONLY CHANGED OIL AND FILTER BECAUSE COULDN'T DUPLICATE PROBLEM OUT SEVERAL HUNDRED $ FOR TOW BILL AND RENTAL CAR FOR FOUR DAYS AND I'M SCARED TO DRIVE IT PLEASE HELP I SHOULD BE ABLE TO DRIVE WHAT WAS E EXPENSIVE PURCHASE AND I NOT FEAR FOR MY LIFE EVERY TIME I LEAVE HOME OR TO BE STRANDED AND OUT $ AND MY CHILDREN HAS DROVE MY CAR THAT WON'T HAPPEN ANYMORE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WATER WAS LEAKING FROM THE WATER PUMP AND THE PUMP WAS LOOSE AND MAKING A LOUD NOISE. ALSO, THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED AND COULD NOT BE DRIVEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TOMBALL FORD (22702 TOMBALL PKWY, TOMBALL, TX 77375, (281) 378-3160) AND THEY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXCEEDED THE 60,000 MILE AND EXTENDED WARRANTIES. THE DEALER ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL; THEREFORE, THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIR COST. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
The coolant system contuiously leaks which cause my vehicle to over heat and shut down while im driving. I have to add coolant daily sometimes multiple times a day. I have been on the highway and my vehicle starts to overheat and stal. I have almost gotten into wrecks. This has been going on since I brought the car

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING ASSIST LIGHT ILLUMINATED CAUSING THE CONTACT TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL WITH FORCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BRANDON FORD (9090 EAST ADAMO DRIVE TAMPA, FLORIDA 33619 (PHONE) 813-246-3333) FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER HAD NOT PROVIDED THE DIAGNOSTIC INFORMATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURE ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V286000 (STEERING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 124,000.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE GAVE A LOW COOLANT MESSAGE THEN SAID VEHICLE OVERHEATING AND I HAD TO PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY. IT DID NOT GIVE ME MUCH OF A CHANCE TO PULL OVER SAFELY BECAUSE OF THE LOSS OF POWER. LUCKILY I WAS JUST PULLING OUT FROM A PARKING LOT AND DROVE INTO THE NEXT LOT. THE CAR HAD BEEN PARKED AT LEAST 30 MINUTES AND COULD NOT HAVE GOTTEN TO FULL TEMP BY THE TIME THE MESSAGE CAME UP. THE CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE AND SHUDDER UNTIL I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. I COULD THEN RESTART THE CAR AND IT WOULD IDLE AND REV UP FINE IN PARK BUT AS SOON AS I TRIED TO DRIVE IT WOULD STUMBLE AGAIN AND GIVE THE OVERHEATING MESSAGE. THIS IS THE 1.6L ECOBOOST ENGINE. IT HAS DONE THIS A COUPLE TIMES INTERMITTENTLY. I TOPPED OFF THE COOLANT AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME. I'VE READ LOTS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON THIS VEHICLE AND FEEL THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR FORD TO TAKE CARE OF. IT HAS BEEN IN FOR MULTIPLE WARRANTY REPAIRS INCLUDING RECALL 13S12-S2 WHICH WAS FOR THESE OVERHEATING ISSUES. FORD KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM BUT FOR SOME REASON DID NOT INCLUDE THE 2013 MODEL YEAR IN THE OTHER RECALLS. HOW MANY VEHICLES NEED TO OVERHEAT AND CATCH FIRE BEFORE FORD IS HELD ACCOUNTABLE?
STEERING LOCKED UP AND WARNING LIGHT CAME ON "SERVICE ENGINE SOON". THIS WAS IN PARKING LOT AND TRYING TO GET CAR IN MOTION. TURNING THE ENGINE OFF AND THEN ON SEEMED TO SOLVE THE ISSUE. THIS HAPPENED TWICE. SERVICE REQUIRED REPLACEMENT OF EPS GEARBOX.
MY CAR STALLS AFTER FUELING. IT IS THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS THE FORD FOCUS RECALL.
TEMPERATURE SENSOR WAS REPLACED AND THE ISSUE IS OCCURRING NOW AGAIN. THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF AND THE CAR TURNS OFF NO MATTER WHAT SPEED YOU ARE GOING OR WHERE YOU ARE. THE DEALERSHIP IS REQUIRING A NEW ENGINE OR CYLINDER HEAD
I REPORTED PREVIOUSLY AND NOW HAVE THE FULL REPORT FROM THE DEALERSHIP. WHILE DRIVING AT THE YMCA IN LIBERTY TOWNSHIP THE CAR STALLED OUT AND WOULD NOT RESTART. THE COMPUTER STATED ENGINE OVERHEATING FIND A SAFE PLACE TO PULL OVER. UPON DOING SO I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED THE NEXT MORNING. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE CAR IS THROWING CODES THAT STATE COOLANT VALVE LEFT OPEN, ALONG WITH 4 OTHER CODES THAT WERE TRIPPED. THE FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLD ME MULTIPLE TIMES THIS WAS UNRELATED TO THE PREVIOUS COOLANT SENSOR RECALL HOWEVER THE 54 PAGES OF INFORMATION AS WELL AS THE DEALERSHIP ARE STATING OTHERWISE.
STALLS RANDOMLY AT LOW RPM, SEEMINGLY IT'S SAME EXACT SYMPTOMS AS RECALL 14S17 WHICH WAS FOR THE LARGER 2.0 MOTOR. VEHICLE HESITATES AND STALLS AND WONT START EASILY. THIS HAPPENED ON FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS OVER 6MONTH PERIOD. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 50,000 MILES
CAR HAD PROBLEMS SHIFTING. TRANSFER CASE WAS REPLACED. AFTER ABOUT 3 MONTHS, THE CAR HAD PROBLEMS SHIFTING AGAIN. A TRANSMISSION FAILURE WARNING CAME ON THE SCREEN AND THE CAR WOULDN'T SHIFT. THE SHIFTING PROBLEM OCCURRED COMING OUT OF PARK AND THEN BETWEEN 2 AND 3 GEAR. THEN, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT PAST 3RD OR 4TH GEAR. THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE WARNING CAME ON WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE GOING 50MPH. I WAS APPROXIMATELY 20 MILES FROM HOME AND ALMOST DIDN'T MAKE IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE ACCELERATING, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO OVERHEAT. IF THE RPMS INCREASED TO HIGH, THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR WOULD ILLUMINATE FOR A FEW DAYS. THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PULL OVER TO ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO COOL DOWN AND HAD TO REFILL THE ANTIFREEZE MORE OFTEN THAN NORMAL. THE DEALER (CIOCCA FORD QUAKERTOWN, 321 S. WEST BLVD, QUAKERTOWN, PA 18951, (844) 224-6525) STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
TAKATARECALL. LOSS OF STEERING WHILE DRIVING AND HIGHWAY TRAFFIC
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED ONTO THE ROAD SHOULDER. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN HOME AFTER IT WAS RESTARTED SEVERAL TIMES. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 136,000.
STARTING IN MAY 2018, COOLANT LIGHT CAME ON, I REPLACED FLUID. SINCE THEN IT HAS BECOME A CONSTANT. I TOOK IT TO 2 DEALERS THEY SAY NOTHING IS WRONG. I OUT A LARGE CARDBOARD UNDER CAR & THE LEAKAGE IS VERY OBVIOUS. I PUT ALMOST A GALLON OF COOLANT IN VEHICLE IN ONE MONTH. GOT IN TOUCH WITH FORD, THEY SAID CONTACT YOU & GO TO ANOTHER FORD DEALER FOR ANOTHER INSPECTION OF LEAK. FORD ALSO SAID THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS MODEL BUT OTHER MODELS OF 2013 & 2014 HAVE THIS PROBLEM & THEY ARE THE SAME TYPE OF CAR.

WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED, IT OPERATED NORMALLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED ON FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS. TOMBALL FORD (22702 TOMBALL PKWY, TOMBALL, TX 77375, (281) 378-3160) WAS CONTACTED BY PHONE REGARDING THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,891.
VEHICLE WOULD DISPLAY "HIGH TEMPERATURE, PLEASE STOP" AND TEMPERATURE GAUGE WOULD RISE TO THE TOP WITHIN A COUPLE OF HOURS OF DRIVING. AFTER DISPLAYING MESSAGE, ENGINE WOULD LOSE POWER AND VEHICLE BECAME HARD TO CONTROL. THIS ISSUE HAPPENED ON DIFFERENT DRIVING CONDITIONS. COOLANT LEVELS ARE AT CORRECT LEVEL. AFTER SHOUTING DOWN THE ENGINE, WITHIN A FEW SECONDS THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE WOULD GO BACK TO THE MIDDLE. THIS BECAME MORE FREQUENT, AND AS OF DECEMBER 6, 2018 THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START WITHOUT THIS MESSAGE AND THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP.
MESSAGE DISPLAYS "ELECTRONIC STEERING FAULT, MAINTENANCE REQUIRED." NOT ABLE TO STEER VEHICLE. MESSAGE DISPLAYS OCCASIONALLY WHEN STARTING VEHICLE.
ENGINE POWER AND VEHICLE SPEED DECREASED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD CREATING AN EXTREMELY UNSAFE SITUATION FOR ME AND MY CHILD. WE WERE DRIVING (NOT TURNING) APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH THROUGH TOWN WHEN THERE WAS A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER AND THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. TRIED TO RESTART THE ENGINE AND WHILE THE CAR WOULD RUN, IT WOULD NOT GAIN SPEED.
MY 2013 FORD ESCAPE HAS A CRACKED ENGINE BLOCK, WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE TO OVERHEAT AND SHUT DOWN WHILE IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAD NOTICED THAT IT NEEDED FREQUENT REFILLS OF THE ENGINE COOLANT RECENTLY -- THREE TIMES IN ONE MONTH (TWO OF THEM IN SERVICE SHOPS). THIS PATTERN IS SIMILAR TO A 2012 RECALL THAT MY VIN ISN'T PART OF, SO THIS MAKES ME HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS. THE CONSUMER REFERENCED NHTSA ACTION NUMBER PE18007. THE CONSUMER STATED THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE BEGAN EXHIBITING SIGNS OF FAILURE AGAIN. THE COOLANT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED MORE FREQUESNTLY THAT IT SHOULD BE.
VEHICLE COMPUTER REPORTS THAT VEHICLE IS OVERHEATING AND PLACES THE CAR INTO 'LIMP' MODE. OCCURS WHILE DRIVING OR AS SOON AS IT IS PLACE IN DRIVE AFTER VEHICLE IT HAS BEEN SITING OVERNIGHT (IN 60 DEGREE CONDITIONS, DID NOT HAPPEN AT ALL DURING THE SUMMER). FIRST OCCURRENCE WAS DEC 2017 WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN ON A HIGHWAY (55 MPH) LOST POWER AND 'LIMPED' TO A PARKING LOT. NEEDED TO BE TOWED TO REPAIR SHOP. LOCAL NAPA REPAIR SHOP DID A FULL REVIEW AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG. DID NOT OCCUR AT ALL OVER THE SUMMER, LATEST WAS 10/5/18. VEHICLE WAS SITTING OVER NIGHT (60 DEGREES), VEHICLE STARTED, REVERSED FROM DRIVEWAY AND ONCE IN DRIVE IT ENTERED 'LIMP' MODE STATING THAT IT WAS OVERHEATING.
RANDOM STALLING WHEN CAR IS WARM. ONCE IT HAS BEEN TURNED OFF FOR AN HOUR OR MORE, IT WILL WORK BUT A LITTLE HEISTANT. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON WHEN CAR HAS BEEN TURNED ON AND OFF TOO MANY TIMES WITHIN IN AN HOUR (ABOUT 6 TIMES). CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL NOT STAY ON, IT EVENTUALLY GOES OFF. LEFT PET STORE, STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN TO CROSS OVER AN INTERSECTION AND WHEN IT WAS MY TURN TO GO CAR STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION. WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO DRIFT ACROSS THE OTHER HALF OF THE INTERSECTION OUT OF THE WAY OF TRAFFIC BEFORE CAR STOPPED COMPLETELY. CAR STARTED BACK UP BUT WAS HESITANT TO START. STALLED A COUPLE OF MORE TIMES UNTIL I GOT HOME (ABOUT 2 BLOCKS FROM INTERSECTION).
WE HAVE HAD THIS SUV FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS NOW, CHANGE OIL EVERY 3000 MILE AND DONE HAD THE GEARS IN TRANSMISSION GO OUT AND NOW NOT EVEN 6 MONTHS LATER WARNINGS FOR ENGINE OVERHEATING TURN OFF SAFELY BUT I'M NOT DRIVING IT. IT HAS BEEN SITTING FOR HOURS. I READ ONLINE THAT THIS MAKE AND MODEL HAD RECALLS ABOUT THIS WARNING AND FOR CATCHING FIRE.
DRIVER SEATBELT WILL NOT TIGHTEN WHEN BEING WORN AND NOT SURE WOULD LOCK IF IN ACCIDENT!
CPSC: WE WERE CALLED TO A VEHICLE FIRE OF A 2013 FORD ESCAPE SE. CAR HAD BEEN DRIVEN FOR 4 HOURS AND HAD BEEN SITTING IN A PARKING LOT FOR ABOUT 2 AND THE LEFT REAR LOWER TAIL LIGHT AREA BURNED. *DT *JS
ENGINE WILL SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. IF I TRY TO TURN IT ON IT'LL HAPPEN 3-4 TIMES UNTIL IT WORKS FINE AGAIN. I'M SCARED TO DRIVE IT MORE THAN 5 MINUTES. IT'S BEEN HAPPENING FOR WEEKS & I'VE TAKEN IT TO SEVERAL MECHANICS THAT CANNOT FIND THE ISSUE.
DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LATCH WOULDN'T LOCK. THE CONSUMER REFERENCED SAFETY RECALL 16S30. REQUESTED TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE REPAIR. THE CONSUMER FILLED OUT THE APPROPRIATE PAPER WORK, BUT HAD NOT HEARD BACK FROM THE MANUFACTURING COMPANY.
THE 2013 FORD ESCAPE HAD A RECALL FOR LEAKING COOLANT ON BACK OF ENGINE. THE ONE I HAVE HAS THAT PROBLEM AND SAYING IT'S NOT ON THAT RECALL LIST. IT'S THE RECALL THAT COULD START A FIRE.

THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V813000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OVERHEATING AND COOLANT WAS BEING CONSUMED VERY QUICKLY. THERE WAS A MESSAGE DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATING THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OVERHEATING AND LOSING MOTIVE POWER. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
I PURCHASED A 2013 FORD ESCAPE IN 2015 WITH A TRADE-IN OF MY 2006 DODGE STRATUS. APPROXIMATELY, A YEAR IN I HAD TO PURCHASE A BATTERY FOR THE VEHICLE THAT ONLY HAD 38, 000 MILES. IN 2017 I HAD TO PUT MORE MONEY INTO THE VEHICLE FOR THINGS OUTSIDE OF BASIC WARE AND TEAR. IN JUNE I HAD TO PAY $500.00 ON CANSTER PURGE VALVE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY. ALSO, MY WINDOW CABLE BROKE TWO DAYS AFTER I PAID $500 TO GET THE ENGINE FIXED. CURRENTLY MY WINDOW REMAINS TAPED UP WITH USE AND IT COST IS $206 PLUS LABOR. AS OF SEPTEMBER 24, 2018 MY ANTIFREEZE WAS LEAKING AND I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT FIXED AND I PAID $542 INCLUDING LABOR. APPROXIMATELY 6 DAYS LATER (SEPTEMBER 30) MY CAR BROKE DOWN ON ROUTE 51 AND LEBANON CHURCH RD BY SHUTTING OF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WITH SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. I WAS ON MY WAY TO CHURCH WITH MY MOTHER WHO IS AN ARMY VETERAN WITH DEMENTIA. THE VEHICLE HAD THICK SMOKE FROM THE ENGINE WHICH CONTINUE TO 45 MINUTES. WHILE BEING STRANDED I HAD TO GET MY CAR TOWED TO MY HOME BECAUSE THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER DIDN'T KNOW WHERE MONROEVILLE WAS LOCATED AND HIS TRUCK HAD ISSUES SHUTTING OFF TOO. THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE WITH MAJOR ENGINE ISSUES THAT ARE "ALL" NOT BEING FIXED BY THE DEALER OR COMPANY. AS OF AUGUST 2018 THE VEHICLE IS ON RECALL FOR REPLACING THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING ON THE TRANSMISSION DUE TO "ROLL AWAY" CONCERNS. THESE VEHICLES NEED TO BE PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND REFUNDS NEED TO BE ISSUED.
COOLANT LIGHT AND HOT ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. CAR WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY OF COOLANT. FILLED IT UP AND WITHIN 4 MILES, TOTALLY EMPTY. HAD INDEPENDENT MECHANIC LOOK AT IT. TOLD THE WATER PUMP SHAFT LITERALLY CRACKED. NO ISSUES PRIOR TO THIS. REPORTED TO FORD SAID THERE IS NOTHING WRONG AND THAT MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALL. THIS IS BOGUS. CAR IS 5 YEARS OLD WITH 55,000 MILES. NEVER HAD ISSUE WITH COOLANT UNTIL 2 DAYS AGO. NO WARNING WHATS SO EVER AND WENT FROM FULL COOLANT TO EMPTY WITHIN A 3 MILE RADIUS. AM I SUPPOSED TO CARRY AROUND COOOLANT WITH ME. DRIVING 35 MILES PER HOUR, LIGHTS CAME ON, IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER. ADDED COOLANT CAR RAN NORMAL, THEN LOST ALL COOLANT AGAIN. WHEN I COME TO A STOP THEN PRESS ON THE GAS PEDAL TO GO THE ENGINE WILL REV UP TO ABOUT 4000 RPM'S BUT I DON'T GO ANY FASTER. THE CAR WILL THEN STALL FOR A BIT. WHEN PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL TO TRY AND GO IT WILL HESITATE AND THEN FINALLY KICK IN AND I CAN CONTINUE ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED DRIVING AROUND IN THE CITY AS WELL AS ON THE HIGHWAY. IT SEEMS TO ONLY DO THIS WHEN I AM GOING SLOWER SPEEDS AND WHEN I HAVE TO STOP AND GO.

CAR STARTED AND I BACKED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY WHERE IT THEN STOPPED. I COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND STARTED THE CAR BACK UP, AND IT STARTED NORMALLY. I DROVE TO GET MY OIL CHANGED WHERE THEY ALSO FILLED UP ALL MY FLUIDS. THE NEXT DAY MY CAR SHUDDERED WHEN IT STARTED BUT STILL WAS ABLE TO RUN. 2 DAYS LATER MY CAR WOULD NOT START AND THE LOW LEVEL COOLANT INDICATOR CAME ON. 30 MINS LATER MY CAR WAS ABLE TO START BUT MY COOLANT LEVEL IS LOW.
THE CAR OVERHEATS WITHOUT WARNING. THE HOT ENGINE WARNING GOES ON AND THE CAR LOSES POWER MAKING IT UNABLE TO MOVE. IT HAS HAPPENED ONCE WHEN I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND ANOTHER TIME WHEN I TRIED TO START IT AFTER SHOPPING. I BELIEVE I WAS DRIVING THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED.
WHILE DRIVING ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON WITH WARNING TO PULL OVER ENGINE OVERHEATING. COOLANT IS FULL.

MY HUSBAND & I BECAME CONCERNED WHEN THE CAR STARTED SHAKING WHILE DRIVING; SOON AFTER, THE ISSUE GETTING GAS STARTED. EVERYTIME WE NEEDED GAS THE CAR WOULD NOT START AFTER FILLING UP, THEN THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON. WE TOOK THE CAR TO OUR MECHANIC WHO COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR & RECOMMENDED WE TAKE THE CAR TO AUTO NATION FORD WHICH WE DID. WE WERE TOLD THAT WE HAD TO REPLACE THE FUEL VAPOR SEPARATOR WHICH COST US $765; TODAY ONE MONTH LATER OUR TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. I THINK IT IS UNFAIR TO HAVE TO PAY $765 ONLY TO HAVE TO RETURN TO AUTO NATION A MONTH LATER. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A RECALL; A VEHICLE IS SUPPOSE TO START AFTER GETTING FUEL INSTEAD OF NOT STARTING. LUCKILY WE HAVE NOT HAD AN ACCIDENT OVER THIS ISSUE BUT I AM CONCERNED THAT MY CAR WILL STALL ANYTIME WHILE DRIVING. I STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT'S WRONG WITH MY CAR BUT I'M SURE THE COST WILL KEEP INCREASING.
VEHICLE HAS STALLED MANY TIMES WHEN FIRST PROCEEDING INTO TRAFFIC AFTER A COLD START OR HAS EVEN STALLED AFTER COLD START BEFORE PROCEEDING(WHILE PARKED). VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO A FORD DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE. THEY DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE DUE TO THE FACT THAT THERE WAS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT SHOWING AND THEY COULD NOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM.
I WAS ON A ROAD TRIP THAT LASTED ABOUT 6-7 HOURS. I HAD BEEN PASSING CARS SOMETIMES AT HIGH SPEEDS. SOMETIME DURING THE DRIVING MY EYES STARTED BURNING REALLY BAD. IT CONTINUED FOR DAYS UNTIL I WENT TO MY DOCTOR AND GOT DROPS FOR THEM. I TOOK THE CAR THE VERY NEXT DAY TO A FORD DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND IT HAS NOW BEEN OVER 5 WEEKS WITH THEM AND AS FAR AS I KNOW, NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO THE CAR. IT HAS BEEN TURNED OVER TO FORD MOTOR AND IS WITH THE GENERAL COUNSEL'S DEPARTMENT. THE ROAD TRIP WAS APPROXIMATELY 400-500 MILES IN TOTAL ON THE HIGHWAYS OF WASHINGTON STATE. *JS

CAR IS LEAKING COOLANT AFTER BEING TESTED AT DEALERSHIP CAR KEEPS LEAKING COOLANT HAVE TO KEEP PUTTING COOLANT IN CAR EVERY OTHER DAY NO LEAK IS BEING SEEM RECALLS HAVE BEEN DONE FOR THIS ISSUE BUT MY CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED. I WAS DRIVING THE CAR THEN THE CAR STARTED TO SHAKE AND SAID LOW COOLANT THEN THE CAR JUST DIED IN THE MIDDLE OR THE ROAD 4 DAYS AFTER GETTING CAR TESTED AND COOLANT ADDED TO THE CAR. ONE OF THE HOSE CLAMS RUBBED A HOLE IN THIS AC LINE THAN I STARTED HAVING COOLANT PROBLEMS REPLACED AC LINE AT DEALERSHIP FOR IT TO BE RUBBING HOLE IN LINE AGAIN. CAR IS CURRENTLY AT DEALERSHIP AGAIN.

ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN YOU FIRST START THE CAR AND BEGIN TO ACCELERATE, WHICH IS PARTICULARLY PROBLEMATIC BECAUSE YOU ARE USUALLY PULLING INTO TRAFFIC IN THOSE MOMENTS. I HAVE BEEN CROSSING BUSY ROADS MANY TIMES WHEN THE ENGINE COMPLETELY STALLS OUT. IT IS HARD TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AT THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE IT DOESN'T ALWAYS HAPPEN, AND IT DOESN'T TURN ON A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE FORD DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THIS PROBLEM FOR MONTHS, LEAVING ME DRIVING A DEATH TRAP. IT FINALLY HAPPENED ENOUGH TIMES IN A ROW YESTERDAY THAT IT TURNED ON A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, FORD IS ABLE TO REPLACE THE PART NOW. I WAS STANDING NEXT TO SOMEONE AT FORD WHO HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM, AND MANY OTHER DRIVERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS AS WELL.
ENTERING THE HIGHWAY I SPEED UP TO MERGE WITH TRAFFIC. I GET TO ABOUT 45 MPH AND LOOSE ACCELERATION POWER. WITH THE ENGINE STILL RUNNING BUT HAVING NO ACCELERATION A STRONG THUD HAPPENED. SEEMED LIKE THE GEARS FINALLY CAUGHT...BUT STILL NO ACCELERATION AND THEN THE ENGINE IMMEDIATELY REVVED TO ALMOST 8000 RPM...AND STILL NO ACCELERATION. I MANAGED TO GET OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND TURNED IT OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWO OTHER TIMES (ONE TIME IT ALSO STALLED COMPLETELY). EACH TIME THERE IS NOTHING THAT THE DEALER CAN TELL ME. IT SEEMS TO "REMEDY" ITSELF AFTER EACH PAID SCAN. THE VEHICLE SCAN DOESN'T SHOW ANYTHING. I'M VERY TIRED OF PAYING FOR SCANS THAT SHOW NOTHING. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE IN MY OWN CAR.
