The contact stated that a warning light was illuminated while driving, and the contact pulled over and turned off the vehicle. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that a bypass hose needed to be installed on the coolant reservoir. The vehicle was repaired; however, the loss of coolant continued, and there was no leak found. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer, who was unable to diagnose the vehicle but determined that an air bubble had formed in the system and the failure had worked itself out. The overheating and coolant loss reoccurred, and the contact took the vehicle back to the same dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that there was coolant intrusion in cylinders #2 and #4, causing damage to the engine. The dealer informed the contact that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to a defect of the engine with the intrusion of coolant. The contact relayed the information to the dealer and was advised that the vehicle was no longer covered under warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

2014 Titanium Escape EcoBoost AWD. NO WARNING LIGHTS RE LOW COOLANT. I have it serviced every three - four months change oil and check fluids. Last service 05/19/2022. 208,000 miles. Car stalled/idle rough in middle of four lane freeway during rush hour. This happened last year in heat wave also. Tonight Landmark Ford in Tigard OR called, said car is totaled, needs to be scrapped or replace engine $18,000 +. Also said torque is twisted and transmission is needed. Asked if this is a known problem. Ashley at Landmark Ford said yes, this particular engine is known to leak coolant into cylinders causing engine failure. I bought the car at Landmark and they assured me they repaired ALL recalls since vehicle was new. However the coolant recall says warning light is installed and THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT WITH LOW COOLANT. Can't afford to pay off loan and buy a another car at 63 years old. Currently searching for repair history to see if this recall repaired. Where is the recall notice on this when there is page after page of exactly the same complaint on nhsta site? Last time I had a known issue Ford dealer refused to repair said my only recourse was to report to nhsta. That doesn't seem to be working for anyone else. There are so many complaints re this here just this year WHY ISNT' THIS RECALLED AND FIXED BY FORD!!!!!

per the coolant recall issued in 2017/2018, I had my car repaired at Ted Britt Ford where I bought my card. I have now had a coolant issue and my car now has been towed to a car repair shop that is stating I will need to buy a new engine due to a crack at cylinder 3 (Which I see repeated over and over for the exact cause on the message boards due to poor recall and that it needs to be recalled again) at a cost of approx $9,000 even though Ford has had these recalls but did not fix the problem as many upon many complaints on the message boards and many phone calls, emails to Ford with no resolutions. I am reaching out to NHTSA in hopes that not only my issue will be resolved whether through a recall. I look forward to a positive, speedy remedy as my car is now sitting in a repair shop parking lot. I have reached out to Ted Britt via email asking for help but once they found out it was due to this recall issue they have stopped responding. The Manager's name is [XXX]. **Update he did respond to me on 9-3-2022 with the 2018 Recall record (which I have uploaded here) and said I need to call Ford directly at 800.392.3673. I will call on Tuesday due to them being closed for the Labor day holiday. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
So I called Nelson Ford today they told me that I had 3 recalls on my vehicle according to the website here I've had 15 recalls they say I had 3 recalls. Now my car hesitates when it accelerates and doesn't shift right they say that the recall as nothing to do with the transmission itself. That the recalls only covers the cable bushing only and if it fails then they will fix it only of I can't move the car and that I get it towed in. And now I have a lemon and I can't offord to replace the transmission if the same problem exists . And I feel like ford is not taking responsibility for there lemon car
Backing out of my garage and my car suddenly stopped, I put it in Drive and it went forward, then put it back in Reverse and it seemed ok. Went to 1 store and could not back up the car would not move. Again, put it in Drive then Reverse and it did back up but did not sound good. I slowly drove home, called my mechanic drove it 4 blocks to him and he concluded that it certainly was the the transmission. I had no warning lights or any or any other symptoms prior to this happening. My mechanic called the dealership where I had purchased the car because the mileage was so low, 40, 684, he was hoping that they would cover it, but was told my warranty ran out by 1 year, so I was out of luck. I also called the dealership and was told the same thing and they also said that "how do you know that it was the transmission?" That was really insulting. I also called Ford in Detroit and was told the same thing, not under warranty. I did some research, and have since learned, that Ford has known about the faulty 2014 Escape transmissions and has not not anything about it.
The PSA (power steering assist) failed causing the power steering to go out. The electric rack and pinion must be replaced @ appx. $3,000 plus towing.

Wife was driving car and just stopped going up a hill. Car was on and transmission was in drive, but when she pressed accelerator, it would Rev up but not go anywhere. Had to be towed home. This is an ongoing problem with the transmission in these models. I have no idea why there has been no recall. This is extremely dangerous. Please make Ford recall these transmissions. They are already being sued for the same transmissions in other vehicles. Thank you
I am told the bushings on my transmission... are either missing or damaged I am now told I need a new transmission I can't even drain my transmission the mechanic. I took it to tells me that's the only thing holding my transmission together. So I believe the the shifter and various part of the transmission have been recalled. All these recalls have damaged transmission it shakes from 3 gear to fourth gear I can't afford a new transmission.

Our Ford Escape 2014 has two safety recalls. My complaint is that they didn't fix it timely. One of the door latches failed and the door was opened by itself on the road in August 2022. I have taken the car to a local FORD dealership and got it inspected. They said they would request the parts and fix it. However, nothing happened after weeks of waiting. I have checked back many times, and they kept saying that the parts were not available. Now, we have been driving a car that has one door unlocked for the past 1.5 years. How to solve this? FYI. Dealer name and address, Mission Valley Ford Truck Sls. 780 East Brokaw Rd, San Jose, CA 95112 (408) 471-2302. I also contacted the FORD customer service department in 2022; they asked me to check with the local dealership for parts availability.
My transmission shifter cable bushing failed while on a car ride home with my son leaving me stranded 96 miles from home. I had to pay $450 to tow it home. Ford doesn't have any parts to fix my vehicle that I can not drive and only recommends I rent a car until October. I can not afford this as I am a single mom and teacher....school resumes in 2 weeks.
It started to act like it was stalling out so I stopped on the side of the road and opened the door to listen. The car was in gear but the brake peddle was pressed all the way down. When I opened the door the panel came up with a warning saying the "Transmission not in Park press Ok". So I pressed Ok and closed the door. I drove forward a few inches, listening thru the window with the door closed. It still wasnt acting right so I stopped in the middle of the road, moved the gear shifter to Park and noticed the drivers panel indicated the gear the car was in was Neutral even though the shifter is in Park. I got out of the car and moved it out of the middle of the road and it went over a small hump I couldn't see, and slid into a fence. I spent the next 25 minutes trying to rock the car to either move backward or forward and away from the fence, obtaining a few bruises (nothing serious) in the process, and was unable to move the car on my own. I had to engage the parking brake, lock the car, and started walking to look for help or cell phone service, as I had none where I was. After a stranger stopped to help get it off the road completely, I watched YouTube videos of easy fixes for the problem and found a video explaining how to "push" the neutral safety locking switch, inside the dash surrounding the gear shifter, tried this remedy and it allowed the gear shifter to move and shift into Neutral or any of the gears below (ND12) but will not shift into Park or Reverse. I had someone follow me home and got the car to my house after it happening one more time on the way. The soonest my local Ford dealership could get it in for service is September 8th (roughly 3 weeks after onset of issues and immobilization). I spoke to Customer Service and they told me the car would have to be diagnosed as due to the recall. There's no remedy until hopefully Oct2022 and wont provide a rental until then. Said we'll see what programs I qualify for even though I owe $3400 on my loan.

Transmission without warning; "check engine light'. It was collision. I made a left turn from the stop sign when I pulled into the path of the vehicle which had the right way. I saw white vehicle and it was little further and I can make it to turn left without collision. But the suv won't let me move to 2 lanes and collision. I remember that one day before collision. I notice that rpm was 5 when I was on highway after traffic light. It is not normal for rpm 5 and usually 3. NO warning - 'check engine light'. I feel that it is not safe without warning. The grandchildren and I were in accident and escaped from hurt. Airbag curtains are really work.

Drivers side seat belt retractor or pretensioner does not work. You have to physically push the seat belt back into place. I feel if I were to get in an accident the seat belt would not help me. The vehicle only has 65,400 miles on it. I feel this is unacceptable and Ford should fix this as a safety issue. The dealer gave a estimate to fix this problem and I believe their estimate is unacceptable at $535 for parts and labor.

The driver side rear door can not be opened. It appears the paneling of the door is caught on the frame, which prevents the operation of the door. This has been reported twice to the dealership, and so far they have ignored the request to inspect or fix it. In an emergency if needed passengers would not be able to exit through this door, which would put that at risk if the car were pinned on one side and the front too damaged to operate. Also the rear camera has failed and does not operate. This is the second camera to do so as the first was replaced under warranty a few years after purchasing the vehicle. If a child were behind the vehicle there would be no way to know looking over your shoulder, as you could only see them on camera. The only warning or indicator of the camera failure is a black screen with a message that you need to contact a service professional.

The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the front axle had detached from the transmission. The dealer replaced the driveshaft seal and bushings, and the transmission fluid; however, while driving a month later, a bystander informed the contact that the vehicle was leaking fluid. The contact veered to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to a second dealer Sunset Ford (11700 Gravois Rd, St. Louis, MO 63127) where it was diagnosed that the front axle had created two holes in the transmission, which caused the transmission fluid to leak. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 165, 842.
