TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT AN UNKNOWN DEALER FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, THE DEALER ATTEMPTED TO ROTATE THE TIRES AND FOUND THAT THE LUG NUTS WERE PREMATURELY WORN. THE DEALER HAD TO USE A SCREWDRIVER AND HAMMER TO RELEASE THE LUG NUTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THE LUG NUTS WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,321. *MP*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL HAD LINES SPREADING HORIZONTALLY ACROSS THAT BLOCKED THE INFORMATIONAL MESSAGES AND DISPLAYS BEHIND THE LINES. THE CONTACT SAID AFTER TWO WEEKS THE PANEL SCREEN WENT TOTALLY BLACK. IRON CITY FORD DELIVERS (9924 PKWY E, BIRMINGHAM, AL 35215, (205) 854-2222) STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND WOULD NOT HELP WITH THE REPAIR COST. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT YET BEEN CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS UNREPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,500.
COOLANT BYPASS VALVE CONSTANTLY MELTS AWAY I HAVE TO REPLACE IT EVERY 2 MOTHS
THE STEERING WILL RANDOMLY DIE, MAKING IT VERY HARD TO DRIVE. IT'S INCREDIBLY WORRYING AND COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT, AS IT ALMOST HAPPENED TO ME. SOMETIMES IN PARK, OCCASIONALLY WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, BUT AT THE MOMENT IT IS NOT BEING DRIVEN FOR OBVIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS
MY VEHICLE HAD STALLED ON 3 DIFFERENT TIMES BUT THEN STARTED BACK UP SO DID NOT THINK ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THEN IN OCT OR NOV IT ACTED LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL WHEN I PULLED OUT OF A BUSINESS ONTO A STREET. A WEEK OR 2 LATER I NOTICED MY HEATER DID NOT WORK. CHECKED COOLANT AND IT WAS VERY LOW. TOOK TO LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID WATER IN ENGINE AND OI IN COOLANT. REPLACE ENGINE FOR 8000 DOLLARS. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND. I HAD HAD MY OIL CHA GED AT THT DEALERSHIP PRIOR AND NO DOUMENTATION OF LOW COOLANT. I HAVE 110.000 MILES ON MY CAR. IT IS THE SAME ENGINE THAT FORD IS HAVING PROBELS WITH. FORD SAID THEY CAN NOT BELP ME. NO RECALLS ON MY CAR. I HAD 100,000 MILE WARRANTY. I HAD A FORD EXPLORER BEFORE WITH V6 AND HAD 190.000 MILES. ARE THERE ANY MORE COMPLAINTS ON THE 2015?
THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING BROKE AS IT WAS BEING PARKED IN DRIVEWAY AND MY 2015 FORD ESCAPE WAS LOCKED IN NEUTRAL POSITION EVEN THOUGH THE CONSOLE SHIFTER WAS IN THE PARK POSITION. LUCKILY WE NOTICED IT ROLL SLIGHTLY AFTER GETTING OUT OF CAR AND WERE ABLE TO GET BACK IN CAR AND PLACE THE PARKING BRAKE SO IT WOULD NOT ROLL INTO THE STREET. THIS IS A SIMILAR ISSUE TO A RECALL OF OLDER FORD ESCAPES (2013 AND 2014). THE SHIFTER WOULD NOT MOVE AFTER THAT AND WE HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO DEALER. HAD IT BEEN ON A LESSER GRADE WE MAY NOT HAVE NOTICED THAT IT WAS NOT IN PARK, AND COULD HAVE ROLLED INTO STREET CAUSING ACCIDENT.
TRANSMISSION FAILED AT 150,000 MILES. REQUIRED TRANSMISSION MAINTENANCE WAS PERFORMED.
TRANSMISSION FAILURE CAUSES FREQUENT HARD SHIFTING. THIS ISSUE STARTED AT ABOUT 50,000 MILES. WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD HESITATE, THE ENGINE REVS SPIKE, AND THEN THE CAR JUMPS INTO GEAR WITH A VERY HARD THUD. BY 61,000 MILES, THIS PROBLEM WENT FROM A ONCE-DAILY OCCURRENCE TO A FREQUENT OCCURRENCE. IT'S TYPICALLY AT LOWER SPEEDS (20~40MPH) AND DRIVING AT CONSTANT SPEED - NOT ACCELERATING. UPDATE FROM NOV 9, 2020: AT 65,000 MILES, I TOOK THIS INTO MY FORD DEALER FOR INVESTIGATION. THEY REPORTED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL WAS GOOD (REMOVE THE OVERFLOW PLUG AND OIL SLOWLY DRIPS OUT) AND THAT THE FLUID WAS DIRTY. THEY REPORTED THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACED.
POWER STEERING STOPED WORKING WHEN I TURNED OFF ROAD ON TO THE DRIVWAY
VEHICLE HAS HAD FUSE ISSUES FROM DAY 1. HAD THE WIRING GOING TO SUNVISOR LIGHTED MIRROR START SMOKING WHEN WE CHANGED THE FUSE. WIRING WAS PINCHED FROM THE FACTORY. THEN THE HEADLIGHT DRIVERS SIDE KEEPS BLOWING FUSE. NOW TRYING FIND OUT WHY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. WHILE EXAMINING THE FAILURE, A DIAGNOSTIC INSTRUMENT DISPLAYED AN ERROR CODE OF P1450, WHICH INDICATED EXCESSIVE VACUUM IN THE FUEL TANK. LATER, WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED AND WAS TOWED FROM THE SCENE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. SUBURBAN FORD (21600 WOODWARD AVE, FERNDALE, MI) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while his wife was driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle would experience a sudden surge in engine revs then immediately began operating like the engine was misfiring and the vehicle would eventually stall. The contact stated that his wife noticed that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the evaporator purge cannister valve needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer and diagnosed with the same failure but was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO COVERT FORD (11514 RESEARCH BLVD, AUSTIN, TX 78759, (512) 345-4343), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT IF THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR FLASHED AGAIN, THE CONTACT SHOULD NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SOLENOID PURGE VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000.

AFTER STOPPING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, THE ENGINE WAS RESTARTED AND THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. FORD OF MURFREESBORO (1550 NW BROAD ST, MURFREESBORO, TN) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,000.
AFTER BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY IN REVERSE, I WENT TO PUT THE VEHICLE INTO DRIVE. NONE OF THE GEARS WOULD THEN ENGAGE. I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND THAT'S WHERE IT STAYED. I WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE SHIFTER FREELY, ALMOST SLIDING THROUGH THE GEARS WITH BARELY ANY FORCE. IT WAS AS IF THE GEAR SHIFT AND TRANSMISSION WERE NOT CONNECTED (SO TO SPEAK). WHEN I WOULD MOVE THE GEAR SHIFTER, NONE OF THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD WOULD LIGHT UP AS IN WHAT GEAR I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE IN. THE ONLY GEAR THAT LIT UP WAS PARK. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, I LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND NOTICED THE SHIFT CABLE BUSHING WAS OFF OF THE TRANSMISSION.
Steering assist fault Service required [XXX] I am writing to bring to your attention a critical safety issue I recently encountered with my 2015 Ford Escape. I am deeply concerned about the lack of response and accountability from Ford regarding this matter, and I kindly request your assistance in addressing this potentially life-threatening problem. During a recent incident, my vehicle's power steering suddenly failed, rendering the car extremely difficult to maneuver. The lack of power steering made it nearly impossible for me to maintain a straight line, let alone perform any evasive maneuvers to avoid potential hazards on the road. Fortunately, this incident occurred in a drive-thru, and my children were not present in the vehicle at the time. I dread to think of the consequences if this failure had happened while driving at higher speeds or in a more critical situation. Upon taking my car to the Ford dealership for inspection and repair, I was shocked to learn that the power steering issue is not covered under my warranty. The dealership informed me that because my vehicle has exceeded 60,000 miles and is now over four years old, it falls outside the warranty coverage. I find it deeply troubling that Ford refuses to acknowledge the obvious flaw in the design of the car's power steering system, especially when comparable Ford models such as the 2011-2013 Fusion have been recalled for the exact same issue. As a loyal Ford customer, I implore you to thoroughly investigate and address this widespread problem, not only for my own sake but also for the safety and well-being of countless other Ford owners who may be facing similar risks. This dangerous design flaw poses a significant threat to drivers and their passengers, and it is utterly irresponsible for Ford to shirk responsibility and shift the financial burden onto the customers. I DROVE TO A DAIRY QUEEN PARKED ON A SLIGHT INCLINE, PUT THE CAR IN PARK. AS I STARTED TO GET OUT OF THE CAR IT STARTED TO ROLL BACK, I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE AND CHECKED TO MAKE SURE THE CAR WAS IN PARK WHICH IT WAS. I THEN PUT ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. WHEN I RETURNED TO THE CAR TO LEAVE. I COULD NOT START THE CAR, THE SHIFTER WAS LOCKED IN PARK BUT THE INDICATOR ON THE DASH SHOWED IT WAS IN REVERSE, ALSO THE BACK UP CAMERA WAS ON. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO KLABEN FORD IN KENT OHIO, WHERE THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING WAS FOUND TO BE BROKEN. KLABEN INSTALLED A NEW BUSHING. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS TO FIND FORD HAD RECALLED SOME MODELS BETWEEN 2013 AND 2016 FOR THIS PROBLEM, BUT NOT THIS CAR. I SUSPECT THERE ARE STILL SOME BAD BUSHINGS OUT THERE. I SEE THIS AS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT NEEDS INVESTIGATION. THANK YOU
REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR BECOMES STUCK. ON AT LEAST 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, THE CLIPS ATTACHING THE PLASTIC PANEL TO THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR BREAK, CAUSING THE PLASTIC TO STICK AGAINST THE DOOR FRAME AND RESULTING IN THE DOOR NOT OPENING. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE! EACH TIME, THE CAR HAS BEEN STATIONARY WHEN I HAVE NOTICED THE PROBLEM. ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE DOOR WILL BECOME DIFFICULT TO OPEN ("STICKY") OR DOES NOT OPEN AT ALL. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO BE FIXED AT 2 DIFFERENT FORD DEALERSHIPS, BOTH OF WHICH WILL ONLY REPLACE THE CLIPS AND ADD EXTRA SCREWS TO HOLD THE PLASTIC ON THE DOOR. WITH ONLY REPLACEMENT OF CLIPS, THE DOOR WORKED FOR APPROXIMATELY 6 MONTHS. WITH THE ADDITIONAL SCREWS, THE DOOR WORKED FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 YEARS. HOWEVER, NOW THAT THE CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY, I WAS CHARGED $140.77 TO REPLACE A FEW PLASTIC CLIPS. NEITHER DEALER HAS OFFERED A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM, ONLY THIS "BAND-AID." ADDITIONALLY, AFTER HAVING SO MUCH REPEATED DIFFICULTY OPENING THIS DOOR, THE PLASTIC HAS NOW CRACKED SIGNIFICANTLY AND THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT FIX OR REPLACE IT. BUT THEY CONTINUE TO TELL ME THAT THE DOOR IS "FIXED" BECAUSE IT CAN OPEN AT THE MOMENT. I HAVE 2 CARSEATS IN THE BACK OF THIS VEHICLE AND WANT A FIX TO THIS PROBLEM. I CANNOT RISK A DOOR NOT OPENING WHEN THERE ARE CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT!

THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 65,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD ESCAPE. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE MULTI-FUNCTIONING INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER BECAME INOPERATIVE AND THE DISPLAY WAS BLANK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V406000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000.
WHILE I WAS DRIVING UP I95 IN NEW JERSEY I PULLED INTO A REST STOP FOR GAS. TURNED THE CAR OFF TO GET GAS. WHEN I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON, I NO LONGER HAD POWER STEERING. AFTER ATTEMPTING TO RECONNECT BY TURNING THE CAR OFF AND ON NOTHING HELPED. I THEN HAD TO DRIVE THE FINAL HOUR TO MY HOUSE WITH NO POWER STEERING WHICH WAS VERY DIFFICULT AND OBVIOUSLY DANGEROUS. I COULD HOLD A STRAIGHT LINE AND MAKE TURNS WHEN NECESSARY BUT TO MAKE ANY TYPE OF SWERVE TO AVOID SOMETHING WOULD HAVE BEEN IMPOSSIBLE SO LUCKILY THIS HAPPENED LATE AT NIGHT WITH NO ONE ON THE ROAD. WHEN I BROUGHT THE CAR INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THIS PROBLEM WAS NOT COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY BECAUSE THE CAR IS NOW OVER 4 YEARS OLD AND HAS 63,000 MILES ON IT. (WARRANTY EXPIRED AT 60,000). THEY ENDED UP HAVING TO COMPLETELY REPLACE THE POWER STEERING RACK AND ALL WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM COSTING $3,400 OUT OF POCKET. I FOUND THIS LACK OF OWNING UP TO AN OBVIOUS FLAW IN THE DESIGN OF THE CAR COMPLETELY IRRESPONSIBLE. ON TOP OF THAT, FORD CARS SUCH AS THE 2011-2013 FUSION HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE. THAT BEING SAID I REQUEST YOU LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE FOR MY 2015 FORD ESCAPE MODEL BECAUSE I AM LEARNING I AM NOT THE FIRST PERSON TO EXPERIENCE THIS ISSUE. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS DESIGN FLAW AND FORD IS NOT OWNING UP TO THE ISSUE. PASSING THIS MASSIVE FINANCIAL BURDEN ON ME AS A CUSTOMER IS ALSO UNACCEPTABLE. I BROUGHT MY CAR LAST YEAR ABOUT 4 MONTHS AGO IT STARTED ME TO MANY PROBLEMS STARTED SMELLING GAS WHEN I PUT THE GAS IT DON'T START I TAKE IT TO THE SHOP THEY GET TO FIX I COST ME NOW I TAKE IT TO FORD SHOP THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAVE TRANSMISSION I NEED THE NEW ONE
MY ENGINE FAILED IN 2019. COOLANT ENTERED CYLINDER NO. 2 AND WAS BLOWN OUT THE TAILPIPE. ALL COOLANT WAS LOST. I COULD NOT DRIVE THE CAR AFTERWARDS WITHOUT CAUSING SEVERE ENGINE DAMAGE. ENGINE WAS REPLACED BY FORD. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED THAT HUNDREDS, IF NOT THOUSANDS, OF FORD ECOBOOST ENGINES, E.G., 1.6, 2.0 AND 2.5L, HAVE SIMILARLY FAILED. FORD HAS REPLACED MANY ENGINES UNDER WARRANTY, BUT IN MANY CASES THE VEHICLES WERE JUST OUT OF WARRANTY AND OWNERS HAD TO PAY $8,000 TO $12,000 OUT OF THEIR OWN POCKETS TO HAVE ENGINES REPLACED. THESE ENGINES EXHIBIT A DESIGN DEFECT THAT ALLOWS COOLANT TO ENTER THE CYLINDERS. FORD KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND SHOULD HAVE ISSUED A RECALL OR EXTENDED THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. THE SUDDEN LOSS OF ALL ENGINE COOLANT CAN CREATE A DANGEROUS SITUATION ON THE HIGHWAY. THERE ARE MANY AREAS ON TODAY'S HIGHWAYS WHERE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SAFELY STOP. IN MY OWN CASE, FORD REPLACED MY ENGINE UNDER THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY, BUT KEPT MY VEHICLE AN ENTIRE MONTH WHILE WAITING ON THE NEW ENGINE TO ARRIVE AND FOR INSTALLATION; FORD DID NOT HOOK UP MY BATTERY TO A CHARGER DURING THIS TIME AND THE BATTERY RAN DOWN, LIMITING ITS REMAINING USEFUL LIFE. I HAD TO COMPLAIN TO GET A LOANER VEHICLE WHILE MY VEHICLE WAS IN THE SHOP. SHORTLY AFTER THE NEW ENGINE WAS INSTALLED, THERE WAS A TERRIBLE RATTLING NOISE UNDER THE HOOD THAT WAS DUE TO A FAULTY TRANSMISSION FLYWHEEL--POSSIBLY DAMAGED DURING THE ENGINE REINSTALLATION. THESE ECOBOOST ENGINES ARE A DISASTER. MY ENGINE FAILED AT 36,000 MILES--MANY FAIL JUST OUT OF WARRANTY. BUT, SINCE YOU NEVER KNOW WHERE YOU MIGHT BE WHEN AN ECOBOOST ENGINE FAILS, IT'S ALSO A SAFETY PROBLEM.

IF THE BATTERY WAS UNPLUGGED FOR 5 MINUTES IT WAS MORE LIKELY TO START. THANKFULLY IT HAPPEN ON A CITY STREET AND NOT THE HIGHWAY THAT I WAS GOING TO BE GETTING ON.

THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE MANUFACTURER ISSUED AN UNKNOWN RECALL ON THE FORD FUSIONS, BUT NOT THE FORD ESCAPES EVEN THOUGH THE FAILURES WERE THE SAME. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000.

THE BUSHING THAT ATTACHES THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CABLE TO THE TRANSMISSION DEGRADED OVER TIME AND CAUSED THE BUSHING TO DETACH FROM THE TRANSMISSION. THIS CAUSED ME TO BE ABLE TO MOVE THE SHIFT LEVER TO PARK AND TURN CAR OFF, WHILE THE TRANSMISSION WAS STUCK IN REVERSE WITH NO WARNING MESSAGE OR AUDIBLE CHIME.
POWER STEERING QUIT WORKING WHILE DRIVING
WHILE TURNING INTO A SUBDIVISION MY CAR REGISTERED A WARNING FOR OVERHEATING. THERE WAS NO VISIBLE SIGNS OR SMELLS OF OVERHEATING. I PARKED THE CAR IN A FRIEND'S DRIVEWAY AND TURNED IT OFF LIKE THE WARNING SIGNAL INSTRUCTED ME TO DO. UPON CHECKING, THE COOLANT WAS WITHIN RANGE AND NOT EMPTY. I LEFT THE CAR PARKED OVERNIGHT. THE NEXT DAY I STARTED THE CAR AND IT IMMEDIATELY REGISTERED HOT, AND PEGGED OUT THE NEEDLE. I PURCHASED A NEW COOLANT SENSOR FROM A FORD DEALERSHIP BUT THAT DID NOT CHANGE THE CAR REGISTERING HOT WHEN THE IGNITION WAS TURNED ON. THE CAR SPENT A WEEK WITHOUT BEING TURNED ON AND STILL REGISTERED HOT WHEN STARTED. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO HILBISH FORD IN KANNAPOLIS, NC. THEY REPLACED A SECOND SENSOR AND A COOLANT BYPASS VALVE. THE REPAIR COST WAS $682.74. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH FORD WHERE MY CONCERN HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED AND ASSIGNED CASE NUMBER - CAS-24112659-S7N8M3. WHILE RESEARCHING POSSIBLE RECALLS I DID DISCOVER THAT 2013 AND 2014 FORD ESCAPES HAD RECALLS FOR COOLANT ISSUES. MY ESCAPE IS A 2015 AND HAD ONLY 35239 MILES AT THE TIME OF THIS ISSUE. I WOULD LIKE THIS TO BE INVESTIGATED AND A POSSIBLE RECALL BE CONSIDERED.
RECALL NUMBER: 18S20. THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING IS DEGRADED JUST LIKE THE RECALL NUMBER I MENTIONED AT THE BEGINNING. WHILE I WAS PARKED, I WAS NOT ABLE TO SHIFT MANUALLY AND THE DASH KEPT READING NEUTRAL. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CABLE BACK ON THE TRANSMISSION IN ORDER TO GET THE VEHICLE HOME.
LOST ABILITY TO PUT SHIFTING LEVER IN DRIVE, NEUTRAL, OR REVERSE. TOOK SEVERAL TRIES TO PUT SHIFTING LEVER BACK INTO PARK. ONLY OPTION WAS TO TOW THE VEHICLE. FORD DEALER DISCOVERED IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE BUSHING FOR THE SHIFTER CABLE, WHICH IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND ALREADY PART OF A SAFETY RECALL FOR 2013-2014 FORD ESCAPES BUT NOT 2015. THIS RECALL SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO 2015 ESCAPES AS WELL.
ON MY 2015 FORD ESCAPE I COULD NOT GET THE LUG NUTS OFF TO CHANGE THE TIRE ON 8/9/2019. HAD TO TAKE TO MECHANIC TO HAVE LUG NUTS REMOVED. IT APPEARS THE LUG NUT SWELLED UP AND THE LUG WRENCH THAT FORD SUPPLIED WITH THE VEHICLE DID NOT FIT

THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG SO RESET. THESE ALL BEGAN A MONTH AGO.
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK. HAD NO NOISE , LIGHTS, OR WARNING OF ANY KIND..I WAS PUSHING ON THE GAS PEDAL..THE CAR QUIT MOVING. I THOUGHT MAYBE A COMPUTER ERROR. COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED THE CAR OFF..WAITED A MINUTE..RE STARTED IT..STARTED TO DRIVE..WENT JUST A FEW FEET AND IT DID IT AGAIN...AGAIN..NO NOISE, WARNING LIGHTS..NOTHING. I MADE A PHONE CALL..I WAS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER FROM A CAR REPAIR SHOP. REALLY KINDA COASTED IN. OF COURSE THEY LOOKED AT IT..GAVE ME THE GREAT NEWS AS TO IT HAD CATASTROPHIC TRANSMISSION FAILURE. I HAD IT TOWED FROM THERE TO A FORD DEALERSHIP..THEY FOUND THE SAME ISSUE. THE TOW COMPANY THAT TOWED MY CAR IN THE NEXT 2 WEEKS TOWED 4 OF THEM..ALL WITH TRANSMISSION ISSUES. I ALSO TALKED TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP THAT STATED FORD IS HAVING AND HAS BEEN HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. IR WAS A LITTLE SCARY AND DANGEROUS TO BE DRIVING 55MPH IN MORNING TRAFFIC AND HAVE YOUR CAR JUST WAIT MOVING.
I HAVE A DOOR LATCH PROBLEM. LOOKED IT UP AND FOUND THAT IN SEP 2016 A SAFTEY RECALL WAS PUT OUT BY FORD FOR THE DOOR LATCHES FOR 2013 - 2015 FORD ESCAPES. I TRIED TO EXPLAIN THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER AND THEY DO NOT HAVE THIS RECALL LISTED. I HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND I NEED IT FIXED.
MY TRANSMISSION STARTED HAVING A SHUDDERING IN THE FRONT END. AFTER TAKING IT TO THE DEALER I WAS TOLD THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER AND TRANSMISSION IS GOING OUT. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED AGAIN AND DRIVE IT TO A SHOP. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A RECURRING ISSUE IN THE FORD ESCAPE BY THE DEALER AND BY SEVERAL OTHER TRANSMISSION SHOPS IN MY AREA. AFTER DOING RESEARCH ONLINE, I HAVE ALSO FOUND THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS IN REGARDS TO THE SAME ISSUE.

The contact initially took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and the water control valve was replaced. Recently, the contact stated that the same failure recurred and that the same repair was needed to be performed on the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and she was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The contact was referred to NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. AIR CONDITIONER SPORADICALLY BLOWS SLIGHTLY COOL AIR, INSTEAD OF COLD AIR, WHEN DRIVING ON CITY OR HIGHWAY. NO DISCERNIBLE TIMING OR CONDITIONS THAT MIGHT BE UNDERLYING FACTORS.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH I HEARD A NOISE THAT SOUNDED LIKE THE TRACKS FLEW OFF THE ROOF OF MY CAR. WATER BEGAN LEAKING IN THROUGH THE ROOF, SO I THOUGHT THE SUNROOF MAY NOT BE CLOSED ALL THE WAY. I OPENED THE FABRIC COVER UNDERNEATH THE SUNROOF TO SEE WHERE AND IF IT WAS LEAKING AND WHEN I DID SHATTERED GLASS BEGAN FALLING IN ON ME. I IMMEDIATELY TRIED TO CLOSE THE FABRIC PORTION AGAIN, BUT I COULDN'T GET IT CLOSED. IT KEPT CRUMBLING UNTIL THE MAJORITY OF THE SUNROOF WAS COMPLETELY GONE. I NEARLY SWERVED INTO THE OTHER LANE ALMOST HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE WHILE TRYING TO MANAGE THE SITUATION. I WASN'T PASSING UNDER ANY OVERPASSES AND I WASN'T FOLLOWING ANYONE TOO CLOSELY.
IN JULY OF 2018 THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL AND HAD TO BE TOWED TWICE. TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS COULDN'T FIND THE ISSUE. THE ISSUE COULDN'T BE DUPLICATED WHILE IT WAS IN THEIR CARE. THE ONE DEALERSHIP DID AN INSTALL AND PROGRAM G10 ELECTRICAL/DRIVEABILITY?! THE VEHICLE DIDN'T STALL AGAIN UNTIL TWICE THIS MONTH JUNE 2019. IT OCCURRED AS I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND I WAS STUCK BETWEEN THE DRIVEWAY AND THE ROAD. AFTER SITTING 15 MINUTES IT STARTED UP AGAIN...LESS THAN ONE WEEK LATER THE VEHICLE LOST ENGINE POWER WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT 40MPH. LUCKILY I WASN'T ON A HIGHWAY. I WAS ON A RURAL ROAD AND I WAS ABLE TO USE WHATEVER MOMENTUM WAS LEFT TO ROLL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HAD 8-10 CARS BEHIND ME AS THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER. HOW I DIDN'T CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IS STILL BEYOND MY COMPREHENSION. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP. FORD NEEDS TO LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE!!! I AM NOT THE FIRST!!! THIS VEHICLE IS A DEATH TRAP!!
PURCHASED CAR 4/30/19 WITH 46,949 AT 47,323 AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON. RETURNED TO FORD 6/11/19 WITH 47,489 MILES AND FORD ADVISES IT IS COVERED UNDER THE SRS 5/60 WARRANTY. AFTER 3 DAYS IN THE SHOP, FORD SAID IT WAS A SEAT PAD SENSOR AND THEY HAVE TO ORDER THE PART. RETURNED 6/26/19 TO INSTALL A SEAT PAD SENSOR WHICH DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THEY WERE CONTACTING FORD FOR ASSISTANCE. IT HAS BEEN 26 DAYS AND NO ANSWERS. I DO NOT KNOW IF MAY SRS WORKS.
