PURCHASED 2015 FORD ESCAPE ON MAY 1, 2015. IN FEBRUARY OF 2016 THE WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID AND PUMP STOPPED WORKING. TOOK TO FORD DEALER WHO SAID THAT RODENTS HAD CHEWED THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD WIPER LINES AND PUMP AREA ELECTRICAL. MADE REPAIR. NOW, DECEMBER 2016 I TRIED TO USE THE WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID TO FIND THAT IT HAD ONCE AGAIN BEEN CHEWED. I HAVE BEEN PARKING MULTIPLE VEHICLES (NEW AND USED) IN THE SAME DRIVEWAY SINCE 1989 WITH NO ISSUES. RODENTS HAVE CHEWED THE SOUND BARRIER MATERIAL IN THE FRONT WHEEL WELLS AS WELL AS THE WIPER FLUID LINES, ETC. AND MADE A NEST IN THE WHEEL WELL.

THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SHIFTER CABLE FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. GOT A LETTER ABOUT THE RECALL BACK IN OCTOBER. HAD SCHEDULED A OIL CHANGE FOR NOVEMBER 16TH AT PARKWAY FORD IN OGDENSBURG, NY. I TOLD THEM ABOUT THE RECALL WHEN I HANDED THEM MY KEYS. AFTER THE OIL CHANGE WAS DONE THEY TOLD ME THAT THE PARTS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL SOMETIME AFTER JANUARY. THEY SAID IF I HAD ANY PROBLEMS TO COME BACK AND THEY WILL "TRY" TO FIX IT. ONCE THE RECALL HAS BEEN SENT OUT TO THE PUBLIC THEN THE DEALERS SHOULD HAVE ENOUGH PARTS SENT TO THEM SO THE DEALERS CAN FIX THE REPAIRS??

FORD ISSUED THE RECALL VIA US MAIL OCTOBER 2016, FOR A SIDE DOOR LATCH. AS OF NOW FORD HAS DONE NOTHING TO PROVIDE PARTS OR SERVICE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY HAD PARTS AND I SCHEDULED FOR REPAIR ONLT TO FIND THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS.....PATHETIC.

IN LAST 10 DAYS "STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED" ERROR CAME ON SCREEN AND STEERING GET LOCKED , CAN'T TURN THE STEERING. THIS HAPPENED WHEN THE SPEED WAS VERY SLOW IMMEDIATELY AFTER ENGINE START AND STARTED DRIVING. AFTER TURNING OFF THE ENGINE ERROR GOES AND STEERING START WORKING. TOOK THE CAR TO DEALER, COULDN'T FIND ANY PROBLEM AND RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO ME. AGAIN NEXT DAY AND DAY AFTER SAME ISSUE APPEARED.
FORD ISSUED A RECALL (16S30) FOR THE DOOR LATCH SPRINGS WHICH ARE APPARENTLY FAULTY AND CAN CAUSE THE DOOR TO OPEN AT ANY TIME. WE CALLED FORD AND THE PARTS WON'T BE AVAILABLE UNTIL THE 2ND QUARTER OF 2017. I HAVE A NEWBORN PLUS DO A LOT OF DRIVING FOR WORK, I CANNOT DRIVE THIS CAR FOR THE NEXT 6 MONTHS AND HOPE THAT THE DOOR(S) DO NOT FLY OPEN.
POWER STEERING WENT OUT AT 46554 MILES. TOTAL COST OF REPAIR: $2019. FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT EXPLAINED THAT THIS PART WAS "IN HIGH DEMAND" AND REPAIRS TOOK EIGHT DAYS TO COMPLETE. FIRST TIME POWER STEERING WENT OUT, CAR WAS STATIONARY, DRIVEN TO DESTINATION IN TOWN W/O POWER STEERING, RESTARTED AND POWER STEERING RESUMED. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED AND DECISION WAS MADE TO SEE IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN. SECOND TIME POWER STEERING WENT OUT, CAR WAS IN MOTION ON CITY STREET, DROVE TO DEALERSHIP WITHOUT POWER STEERING, HOOKED UP TO COMPUTER. BECAUSE THIS PART IS "IN HIGH DEMAND", DOES THIS SIGNAL TIME FOR A RECALL? I WOULD HOPE SO!

I WAS DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY THIS MORNING WHEN THE REAR SPRING BROKE ON MY 2015 FORD ESCAPE. I THOUGHT THAT MY TIRE BLEW OUT AT FIRST. I WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE EXPRESSWAY AND WHEN A SHERIFF DROVE UP BESIDE ME TO ASK IF I WAS OK, I TOLD HIM YES, I THINK MY TIRE MAY HAVE BLOWN OUT AND THAT'S WHEN HE INFORMED ME THAT IT WASN'T THE TIRE, THAT THE SPRING ON THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE WAS SITTING ON THE GROUND.
MY 2015 FORD ESCAPE IS LEAKING OIL ALL OVER THE PLACE. I SEE A RECALL #13S12 FOR THIS ISSUE BUT IT WAS NOT PULLED UP WITH MY VIN NUMBER IN SPECIFIC. I AM GOING TO PHIL LONG FORD MOTOR CITY 09/17/16 TO HAVE THEM FIX THE OIL LEAK. I ALSO HAVE HAD THE PLASTIC CLIP FROM MY BACK HATCH HANDLE BREAK WITHIN A COUPLE OF MONTHS OF OWNING MY FORD. I JUST WANT TO BE SURE THAT FORD IS GOING TO FIX THE RECALL FOR THE OIL LEAK AND OTHER RECALLS SPECIFIC TO MY VIN AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. THANK YOU! *TR

6-4-15 PURCHASED THE CAR BRAND NEW 8-7-15 CAR'S BATTERY DRAINED COMPLETELY AND HAD IT TOWED TO FORD DEALER 7-8-16 CAR'S BATTERY COMPLETELY DRAINED. JUMP STARTED GOT NEW BATTERY AT FORD DEALER 7-29-16 BATTERY COMPLETELY DRAINED, JUMPED STARTED. STOPPED AT FORD DEALER AND GOT AN APPT. ON 8-8-16 7-30-16 DROVE CAR OUT OF GARAGE APPROXIMATELY 7:30 AM AT 3:30 PM, THE BATTERY WAS DEAD. JUMP STARTED THE CAR TO PUT BACK INTO GARAGE. CALLED FORD DEALER AND GOT AN EARLIER APPT. ON 8-1-16 (CHARGED BATTERY 6 HRS WITH BATTERY CHARGER) EACH TIME, THE BATTERY HAD TO BE JUMPED TO START THE CAR. SOMETHING IN THE SYSTEM IS DRAINING THE BATTERY COMPLETELY. THE CAR WAS PARKED INSIDE MY GARAGE EACH TIME THAT THIS OCCURRED. IT ALWAYS HAPPENED IN THE AM WHEN I WENT TO START THE CAR WITH THE EXCEPTION ON 7-30-16, IT WAS PARKED OUTSIDE IN THE DRIVEWAY AND DIED THERE DURING MID DAY. PURCHASED A PORTABLE BATTERY JUMP STARTER FROM SEARS ($125.00) TO STAY IN THE VEHICLE.
THE CAR ACCELERATED AFTER SLOWED DOWN TO PARK. IT SURGED TOWARD A CEMENT WALL AND ONLY SCRAPED IT BY ME TURNING WHEEL BUT WENT BETWEEN TWO CEMENT PILLARS AND KNOCKING OVER A CEMENT BENCH. DAMAGE ON THE CAR AND RECEIVED A CITATION . I AM JUST AFRAID IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN I WON'T BE SO LUCKY. SO NOW I HAVE TO HAVE THE INSURANCE COMPANY INVOLVED AND IT IS COSTING ME PLUS THE CITATION . I THINK FORD MOTOR SHOULD TAKE OF THIS AND DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO FIX THE PROBLEM

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO PLAZA TIRES AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN BOLTS WERE MISSING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED FOR ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
VEHICLE EXHIBITS EXTREME GLARE ON FRONT WINDSHIELD-- THIS CAN OCCUR DAY OR NIGHT. DAY GLARE CAN BE SO BAD AS TO MAKE VEHICLE TOTALLY UNSAFE TO DRIVE-- NOT REFERRING TO GOING INTO A SETTING OR RISING SUN-- THIS IS NORMAL DAYLIGHT BETWEEN 9:00 AM AND 6:00 PM. METAL DASH PIECES REFLECT IN SIDE MIRRORS AND MAKE IT DIFFICULT TO SEE APPROACHING CARS

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LIFT GATE NEEDED TWO LONGER SCREWS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, THE AUTOMATIC TAILGATE HAS CLOSED ON ME WHILE LOADING GROCERIES INTO MY TRUNK. BOTH TIMES I EXTENDED A HAND TO TRY AND STOP IT BUT BOTH TIMES IT CONTINUED TO CLOSE AND HIT ME IN THE HEAD. THE SECOND TIME WAS ON APRIL 7, 2016. IT HIT ME HARD ENOUGH TO GIVE ME A CONCUSSION AND TRIGGER A MIGRAINE THAT LASTED 4 DAYS. I HAD TO BE PRESCRIBED MEDICATION AND MISSED WORK. THE GATE SHOULD NOT CLOSE AUTOMATICALLY LIKE THIS. THERE NEEDS TO BE BETTER SENSORS TO PREVENT INJURY. I HAVE FOUND POSTS ONLINE FROM OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD SIMILAR EXPERIENCES. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY FORD DEALER WHO OPENED AND CLOSED THE LIFTGATE SEVERAL TIMES AND TOLD ME IT WAS FINE. I BET THE GROCERY STORE HAS VIDEO FOOTAGE OF ONE OR BOTH INCIDENTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL PULLED TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT ALSO HEARD A LOUD GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE WINDOW FORD DEALER LOCATED IN SPOKANE, WA, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO FRED HILL FORD LOCATED IN SPOKANE, WA WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE TURNED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
MY WIFE EXPERIENCED A SECOND TIRE FAILURE TODAY WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. OUR 2015 FORD ESCAPE HAS 11,011 MILES ON IT. THE FIRST FAILURE OCCURRED IN MID-JANUARY 2016 WHEN THE VEHICLE HAD 9,537 MILES ON IT. THE SIDEWALL ON BOTH TIRES SHOWED A LARGE CRACK IN IT AFTER THE FAILURE. BOTH FAILURES WERE NOT THE RESULT OF STRIKING A ROAD HAZARD. THE TIRE DEFLATION LIGHT CAME ON RIGHT AWAY WHEN THE FAILURES OCCURRED. THE FAILURES DID NOT RESULT IN A COLLISION SINCE THEY OCCURRED AT A SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 25MPH AND THERE WASN'T ANY TRAFFIC AROUND. THE FIRST FAILED TIRE WAS REPLACED WITH THE SAME MICHELIN TIRE. MY WIFE AND I HAVE BOTH BEEN DRIVING 40+ YEARS AND I'VE NEVER EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM LIKE THIS WITH ANY OF MY VEHICLES OR WITH A MICHELIN TIRE IN THE PAST. I STRONGLY SUSPECT THERE IS A DESIGN ISSUE OR MANUFACTURE DEFECT WITH THESE TIRES. IT HAS BEEN A RARE INSTANCE WHEN THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN OPERATED ON THE HIGHWAY. I AM RELUCTANT TO DO SO WITH THESE TIRES ON THE VEHICLE, AND EQUALLY RELUCTANT TO REPLACE THIS SECOND FAILURE WITH A LIKE MICHELIN CONSIDERING THE COMPLAINTS I HAVE FOUND REGISTERED WITH THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION AFTER RESEARCHING THIS TIRE ON THE NHTSA.GOV WEBSITE. I DO HAVE PHOTOS OF THE SECOND FAILED TIRE TO DOCUMENT THE DAMAGE AND TIRE DOT # SINCE I WILL BE REPLACED THE FAILED TIRE TOMORROW.
I WAS STOPPED AT A REDLIGHT AT AN INTERSECTION, WHEN I WAS REAR ENDED BY A CAR. MY SON AND I WERE IN THE FRONT SEATS. WE WERE WEARING OUR SEATBELTS. WE WERE THROWN FRONTWARD AND THEN THROWN BACKWARD. MY SONS SEAT WAS LAYING COMPLETELY FLAT. MY SEAT HAD FLOWN BACK AND HIT MY WIFE, WHO WAS SITTING BEHIND ME,WEARING HER SEATBELT. AT 42,000 MILES NOISES HAVE RETURNED AND SAME CONDITIONS ARE PRESENT.

MY INSURANCE COMPANY HAS DEEMED THE VEHICLE A TOTAL LOSS AND THE ADJUSTER SAID THE ONLY THING THAT COULD BE SALVAGED WAS 1/2 OF MY LICENSE PLATE. PURCHASED 2015 ESCAPE ON MAY 1, 2015. FEBRUARY 2016 WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID WOULD NOT WORK. TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO FIND THAT A SQUIRREL HAD NESTED UNDER THE HOOD AND CHEWED THE LINES AS WELL AS A PART ON THE PUMP FOR THE WIPER FLUID WHILE IT WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY.
