The contact owns a 2015 Ford Escape. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that upon scanning the vehicle with a vehicle scanner, the contact retrieved diagnostic trouble codes indicating an engine misfire. The contact replaced the ignition coils; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that while replacing the spark plugs, the spark plug thread of cylinder #4 remained stuck in the cylinder head. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the contact was informed that the spark plug thread might be stuck because the cylinder head had melted around the spark plug thread. The mechanic determined that the cylinder head needed to be replaced. The dealer was notified of the failure and recommended the cylinder head replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in an undisclosed recall. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Escape. The contact stated while depressing the accelerator pedal, the RPM increased; however, the vehicle failed to properly accelerate. Additionally, there was a whining sound coming from the engine compartment while attempting to accelerate and the vehicle was jerking and vibrating abnormally. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 110,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Escape. The contact stated while idling and while driving at various speeds, there was a significant amount of smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to A1 Auto 3 Brothers Car Repair, where it was diagnosed that the engine had failed due to piston rings failure, and the turbo charger also failed. The dealer determined that the engine and the turbo charger needed to be replaced. The warranty company informed the contact that only the turbo charger was covered under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the vehicle started vibrating, with an abnormal sound coming from under the center of the vehicle. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and restarted the vehicle; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred the contact to call the Safety Hotline to file a complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.
UNKNOWN, but appears like other version of Ford Escape the 2015 suffers from the same fuel pump issues. On at least 10 moments the car stalls and dies during driving. When brought to Fords attention, they have on 2 times indicated that no error codes or way of duplicating problem. I had independent car repair place as well look into the issue with the same response. We now only drive the car if we have to and only in short areas where we are not driving on the freeway and if we can walk home. Please add this to the recalls.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 60,000.
Driving home from work vehicle would not move forward. Had towed to Ford dealership. Told transmission was over heating, requiring a new transmission at a cost $7,400. Purchased the vehicle one year ago from an auto dealership. Was told by the Ford dealership that they see a lot of this happening to this vehicle type.
While driving to Las Vegas, I noticed the engine felt unstable and coolant levels were low. After topping off coolant, the car drove normally for the remainder of the trip, but the air conditioning intermittently blew hot air. A mechanic performed diagnostic and pressure tests, but no codes appeared. The issue recurred with repeated coolant loss and stalling sensations. The following day, the vehicle overheated on the freeway and stalled. A mechanic diagnosed a blown head gasket and cracked cylinder head, which cost me $4,500 to repair. Less than a month later, the same issue happened again. This defect creates ongoing safety concerns due to the risk of sudden stalling, overheating, and potential engine fire. I have learned that this issue is widespread in Ford Escape EcoBoost engines, and Ford has not issued a recall or permanent fix.06
Back up camera does not work at times screen is black when vehicle is in reverse, other times camera display is working. This problem started around June 0f 2025
When hitting the brakes the car starts accelerating brakes go to the floor
Back up quit working.
The shift cable bushing on my 2015 Ford Escape failed, causing the gear shifter to appear in "Park" when the transmission was actually in a different gear. This posed a significant safety risk, as the vehicle could roll unexpectedly. The problem was diagnosed and confirmed by a certified Ford dealership. They stated the failure was due to a coolant hose leak affecting the bushing, but this seems questionable since this exact bushing has been recalled previously for premature degradation (Ford recalls 18S20 and 22S25). I experienced the same symptoms reported in the recall: gear position not matching the shifter, difficulty engaging Park, and the potential for the car to roll. There were no warning lights or messages before the failure. I had to pay for the repair out of pocket, even though this appears to be the same defect covered in the recall. The part is no longer available for inspection, as it was replaced during the repair.

Vehicle threw code for Ignition Coil 1 malfunction, replaced all 4 ignition coils & spark plugs but the car later threw codes for Ignition Coil 1 and 2 malfunction. I observed antifreeze was leaking from the car only while in operation. Lines were replaced and the car was thoroughly checked for leaks. Antifreeze was kept topped off routinely while troubleshooting. Went to start car and it wouldn't start. Had it towed for repairs and received diagnosis that engine overheated due to an internal coolant / antifreeze leak that allows coolant to enter into the cylinders of the engine. This is a known manufacturer's defect that has caused total engine failure and requires replacement of the engine block. Quote to repair the vehicle exceeds the vehicle's value.
On 14 May 2025 at approximately 11:45 am I went to drive my Ford Escape to Metro Ford for routine engine service. I started the Ford and proceeded to drive away. A few minutes later as I was driving down a two lane major highway I began to accelerate the Ford when I noticed RPMs going up but transmission was not engaged. I shifted into neutral and back to drive. Still nothing. I tried using manual shift buttons, nothing. I was on a busy high speed road and could not accelerate. I had enough momentum to pull off on a driveway area. I tried shifting ford into park and drive and when going to drive nothing happened. I turned the car off. Waited a few minutes and the Ford finally engaged into reverse. I was able to get back to my house by getting enough momentum to coast down to my driveway. The transmission completely stopped working. This is a serious failure that I had no indication it was failing. Had my niece or her kids was in the car they could have been injured due to the vehicle stalling on a major road or in an intersection or even in a train track. So many potential life threatening possibilities. I towed the Ford to Metro Ford. Ford only quoted me options for repair. I advised them if they had no other concerns then I would report the extremely dangerous situation that should have already been recalled. Ford metro noted they pulled transmission fluid and determined there transmission is bad. I had no warning from the computer this was a potential failure. I could have been killed had I not been able to figure out how to get out of the road. This transmission failure, according to Ford is common. If so, it’s a safety hazard. I am parking the Ford and I’m willing to let anyone inspect it so they can see the failure prior to any repairs. I maintain the Ford and rely on it. I want all Ford Escape owners to know this Hazardous safety issue. Someone is going to get killed if not already has been.
Engine overheated. Coolant Bypass Valve needs replacement, which is known issue in this model for various years and only one year (2014) was identified for recall, although it has been a common problem for many Ford Escapes model years after 2010. Thermostat assembly, check engine light, and overheating are issues that arose due to the faulty coolant bypass valve. A possible outcome is engine fire, as indicated by information from the manufacturer.
Transmission failed with only 76,000 miles on the car. My wife's safety was at risk due to being on a busy highway on a hill and being unable to accelerate away from danger. Transmission fault light came on the dash.
The contact's daughter owns a 2015 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle shuddered and then stalled. No warning light was illuminated. The contact's daughter pulled over and turned off the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.

Catastrophic Hood Latch Assembly breakage. Assembly came off car. The Hood then flew back onto windshield completely destroying it. Safety Latch was also detached. Hood latch Assembly was on top of motor after car was stopped. There were no warnings lamps, messages or any other symptoms of this problem prior to failure. The car has not been inspected by anyone yet, but there are photos showing the damage and the parts are also available for inspection. Safety concerns: Hood coming back on to windshield due to this parts failure could cause catastrophic injuries or death especially at interstate speeds.
The transmission although it was well maintained it failed. Began to shutter the car and no acceleration which meant it was basically undrivable considering how unreliable these transmissions are I’m not surprised it stopped working

My transmission is failing and needs replaced at only 81K miles. This is a closed transmission (no dipstick) to check fluid levels or quality. The owner’s manual states it doesn’t need transmission fluid replacement for 150K miles. There were no warning lights or symptoms prior to the time I had the transmission checked. This could cause problems if the transmission fails completely while being driven.
While driving the vehicle started acting like it was out of gas and the transmission light came on and the car wouldn’t go or crank back up
TWO THINGS: Transmission failed, as it frequently does, in this car at around 90K. Shop said it's a known flaw and Ford said sorry, despite having pointed related issues out to our dealer several times. Replaced at tranny shop to the tune of $7K+. Less than a year later, the engine failed due to known structural flaw with cylinders where coolant intrudes. Engine completely shot - dealer said sorry pay us $13K to replace it. Both these things have been parts of class-action lawsuits. Please remedy. Thank you.
Check engine light went on and code P1450 for evaporative emissions purge valve. After refueling vehicle, it does not start without reving the engine at a high rate and still sometimes does not start. This is a common warranty item on many Fords during the time but not for this specific VIN
Older man pulled out in front of me, I t-boned his truck going 47 mph. His insurance totaled it. The airbags never deployed.

In March 2025 the check engine light came on. Diagnostic showed issue was a misfire for cylinder 3. Mechanic said spark plug in cylinder 3 was seized and he recommended bring the vehicle to a ford dealer. They removed the spark plug and retapped the cylinder outlet. In June 2025 the check engine light came on. Diagnostic showed issue was a misfire in cylinder 3. This time the ford dealer said the issue is a coolant intrusion and I need a new engine. I called the Ford Customer Satisfaction number only to be told my vehicle isn’t part of the recall for the coolant intrusion. They could do nothing to help me.
My 2015 Ford Escape experienced sudden power loss while trying to proceed at a Stop Light in Irving, Texas on [XXX}. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
transmission failure at 132K miles
After getting gas in car wife started car and attempted to pull from gas pump. Steering was hard to steer and information light illuminated.(Steering assist fault Service required). This by some may not be considered a safety issue, but if it happens in heavy traffic this could be very serious to other drivers around you. Reading all the reports and seeing the other model years ford has recalled for steering. I believe that ford should issue a recall or at least reimburse owners for the cost of replacement.

The problems on my 2015 Ford Escape are related to the last recall, NHTSA Recall 22V413/Safety Recall Notice 22S43. On 02/21/2025, I had stopped by a Traffic Stop Light Signal. When I tried to proceed after the lights turned green, my car would not move forward and would behave like it was in Neutral mode making a lot of noise. I called Ford Motor Company and asked for remedy, and I was told the previous recall has already expired and that there is nothing that they can do now. I got my car towed to a Ford Dealership and they have sent me a cost estimate of over $8,000.00 to get the issue fixed. I am wondering if NHTSA can make Ford Motor Company do the necessary repairs on my Ford Escape, since this problem is related to the last recall. Thank you.
