I WAS ON MY WAY HOME AFTER DROPPING MY HUSBAND OFF AT WORK WHEN MY LOW TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON. I TURNED AROUND AND HEADED TO THE NEAREST GAS STATION WITH FREE AIR. I DROVE FOR APPROXIMATELY ANOTHER 10 MINUTES AND WAS ONLY TWO BLOCKS FROM THE GAS STATION. I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT ON A MAIN ROAD DURING MORNING RUSH HOUR. THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN. FROM A DEAD STOP, I ACCELERATED TO ABOUT 25 MPH, JUST GOT PAST THE INTERSECTION, WHEN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND THE GAS PEDDLE STOPPED WORKING. I ONLY HAD ENOUGH MOMENTUM TO MAKE IT ABOUT 50 FEET BEFORE THE VEHICLE STOPPED COMPLETELY. LUCKILY, I MADE IT ALMOST ALL THE WAY INTO A LEFT TURN LANE. THE TRAFFIC PASSING WAS SO CLOSE THAT MY CAR SHOOK EACH TIME I WAS PASSED. I WAS TERRIFIED I'D BE STRUCK FROM BEHIND BY A PASSING VEHICLE. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO INFORM THEM OF WHAT HAPPENED AND THAT I'D BE HAVING MY CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. HAVING NO IDEA WHAT HAD HAPPENED, I WASN'T SURE IF I'D DO MORE DAMAGE BY TRYING TO START THE CAR AGAIN, SO I CALLED A TOW TRUCK. THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT OFFER TO TOW MY VEHICLE FOR ME AND I HAD TO PAY $75 FOR THE TOW. AFTER THE DEALERSHIP LOOKED AT THE CODES, THEY TOLD ME THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY HAD FAILED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. IT COST ME JUST UNDER $400 IN TOTAL FOR THE REPAIR. MY VEHICLE IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY ANYMORE, SO THIS WAS 100% OUT OF POCKET FOR ME.
THE ORIGINAL TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AND THE 2ND ONE JUST WENT OUT. HAVE TO PUT ANOTHER ONE IN. HOW LONG WILL IT LAST. WHY HAS FORD NOT DONE A RECALL ON THESE TRANSMISSION'S,
AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD I NOTICED I WASN'T ACCELERATING; AS I TRIED TO PRESS ON THE ACCELERATOR THE RPMS WOULD INCREASE, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SPEED UP. I PULLED OFF THE TO A SIDE ROAD, STOPPED THE CAR, PUT IT IN PARK AND THEN BACK INTO DRIVE AND HAD NO CHANGE IN ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. I TRIED TURNING IT OFF AND BACK ON. AS I THEN TRIED TO GET THE CAR BACK HOME (THANKFULLY I WASN'T FAR) I HAD TO PUT IT IN LOW GEAR AND COULD ONLY GO 10-15 MPH. THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE LIGHT CAME UP AT THIS POINT. AFTER TRYING TO LET THE VEHICLE COOL DOWN, THERE WAS NO CHANGE. I HAD THE VEHICLE REPAIRED AT A TRANSMISSION SHOP; COSTING $4,100; THE TRANSMISSION MECHANIC COULDN'T TELL ME EXACTLY WHAT WENT WRONG OTHER THAN IT HAD OVERHEATED IN THE TRANSMISSION AND THERE WAS A LOT OF INTERNAL DAMAGE. I AM STILL STRUGGLING WITH ISSUES WITH ACCELERATING WHEN THE VEHICLE IS COLD. THE VEHICLE IS SLUGGISH AND SHIFTS VERY HARD WHEN IT IS COLD. THE MECHANIC IS LOOKING INTO IT AGAIN.
OUT OF NOWHERE CAR'S TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING REALLY BAD ON A MAIN STREET INTERSECTION. THE CAR WOULD STALL THEN WOULD CATCH UNEXPECTEDLY AND LAUNCH FORWARD. THEN A MESSAGE CAME ON THE SCREEN OF "TRANSMISSION FAULT SERVICE ENGINE NOW". HOW IN THE WORLD DOES THIS HAPPEN WITH A 4 YR OLD CAR!!!!!
VEHICLE WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE WHEN IT STARTED HESITATING AND RPMS REVVING UP AND DOWN CHAOTICALLY. NO CHECK ENGINE OR SERVICE LIGHTS WERE ON. VEHICLE TOWED HOME, AND DRIVEN TO DEALERSHIP NEXT DAY. SAME PROBLEM STARTED HAPPENING WHEN THE CHECK TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. DEALERSHIP HAD IT FOR A WEEK AND SAID THE TORQUE CONVERTER IS COMING APART INSIDE THE 6F35 TRANSMISSION AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF 5400 FOR A REMAN OR 3400 OVERHAUL. VEHICLE AT 75K MILES. CODES P0219/P0735/P0731. CONTACTED FORD MOTOR CO AND THEY DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE WHEN NOTIFIED OF THIS FAULT. THE CSR SAID THERE IS NO ONE AT FORD MOTOR COMPANY THAT COULD LET ME KNOW HOW MANY COMPLAINTS THEY HAVE RECEIVED ON THE 6F35 TRANSMISSION, DESPITE EMPLOYING 175,000 PEOPLE. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON TRANSMISSION FAILURE ON THIS VEHICLE AND IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY FORD. IT IS ABSOLUTELY ABSURD THAT A CAR WITH 75K MILES NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION AND FORD WILL NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE DESPITE BEING PAID 28,000 FOR THE VEHICLE! FORD NEEDS TO RECALL THIS TRANSMISSION AND OWN UP TO THEIR FAULTY MANUFACTURING, AGAIN TRANSMISSION JUST RANDOMLY GOING OUT WITH NO PRIOR ISSUES SHOULD BE A HUGE RED FLAG. FORD DOESN'T EVEN RECOMMEND TRANSMISSION SERVICE ON THIS VEHICLE UNTIL 150K
MY VEHICLE STARTED MAKING A FAINT WHISTLING / WINDING SOUND WHEN BEING DRIVEN. THEN MY CAR WOULD NOT DRIVE ANY MORE WHILE IT WAS IN THE DRIVE POSITION . THE RPM NEEDLE KEPT JUMPING AS IF IT WAS BEING DRIVEN. I WAS PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR WOULD NOT GO. I STOPPED , STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DRIVEWAY. I TURNED THE CAR OFF, WAITED FOR A MIN OR 2 THEN TURNED THE CAR BACK ON, AFTER THAT THE CAR FINALLY SHIFT INTO GEAR, AND I WAS ABLE TO PARK MY CAR. THE LIGHT FINALLY CAME ON SAYING TRANMISSIONS FAILURE SERVICE NOW OR SOMETHING TO THAT AFFECT. SO I TOOK THE CAR TO FORD SEEING HOW I WAS STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY, FINALLY AFTER A MONTH , GOT MY CAR BACK. THEY DIDN'T REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION JUST PARTS OF IT FROM WHAT I WAS TOLD -MANS A HOSE FOR MY HEATER. NOW A FEW WEEKS LATER, MY CAR IS MAKING THE SAME NOISE.
THIS VEHICLE HAS AN ELECTRIC POWER STEERING THAT TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER PROPERLY. TO GET THE STEERING TO WORK AGAIN YOU NEED TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY (WHICH IS NOT EASY), MAKE A COMPLETE STOP, TURN THE IGNITION OFF AND THEN BACK ON TO GET THE STEERING TO WORK SAFELY AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER 100 TIMES, INCLUDING FIVE TIMES THIS WEEK. IN LOOKING AT FACTORY RECALLS, MANY 1000S OF FORDS, OF MANY YEARS AND MODELS HAVE HAD FACTORY RECALLS FOR THIS SAME ISSUE. BUT, NOT THIS SPECIFIC VIN NUMBER. I NEED TO GET A FACTORY RECALL WHICH INCLUDES THIS VIN NUMBER BEFORE THEIR IS A FATAL ACCIDENT INVOLVING THIS CAR.
THE TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK IS SHOWING AND WHAT HAPPENS IS MY CAR TENDS TO GO FORWARD IF I PUT IT IN REVERSE AND GO IN REVERSE WHEN I PUT IT IN DRIVE BUT IT ALSO GO FORWARD WHENEVER I FIRST TURN MY CAR ON THAT ALL HAPPENS WHEN I CHANGE GEARS TO PROCEED TO DRIVE. MY CAR ALSO STAYS IN 3RD AND 4TH YEAR WHEN I DRIVE THE RPM GOES UP REALLY HIGH EVEN IF I'M JUST GOING 20MPH. IF I DO DRIVE MY CAR AT TIMES IT WILL ALL OF A SUDDEN SLOW DOWN AND STOP MOVING SO I HAVE TO PULL OVER TURN OFF MY CAR WAIT A BIT AND THEN TURN IT BACK ON AND THEN IT'S GOOD TO GO FOR A FEW MILES AND MY CAR UNEXPECTEDLY WILL MOVE FOR EXAMPLE I WILL BE IN PARK ABOUT TO CHANGE GEARS INTO REVERSE AND MY CAR WILL GO FORWARD I HAVE TO SLAM ON BREAKS SO I DON'T CRASH IT DOES THIS EVEN IF I AM PARKED AND I PUT MY CAR INTO DRIVE MY CAR WILL GO INTO REVERSE THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED TO ME WHEN I WAS AT THE GROCERY STORE.
2016 FORD ESCAPE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DEFECTIVE RACK AND PINION SYSTEM. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE RACK AND PINION SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED DUE TO A FAULTY SNESOR. THE VEHICLE HAD 23,907 MILES ON IT. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO JERK THE RPMS REVVED UP. THE TRANSMISSION FAULT WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT, PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 84,400.*DT*JB
2016 FORD ESCAPE DOOR WILL NOT STAY CLOSED. I WAS BACKING UP OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY WHEN THE LIGHT ALERTED ME THAT THE REAR DRIVERS DOOR WAS NOT CLOSED, I GOT OUT AND CLOSED IT AGAIN BUT IT WILL NOT STAYED CLOSED. UPON CLOSER INSPECTION THE LATCH WILL NOT ENGAGE. MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL OF 2013-2015 FORD ESCAPES WITH THE SAME LATCH DEFECT.
MY 2016 FORD ESCAPE HAD A TOTAL TRANSMISSION FAILURE WITHOUT WARNING WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET, APPROX. GOING 45 TO 50 MPH. THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT OF GEAR AND LOST POWER. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD STALL AND THEN SUDDENLY GO INTO GEAR WITHOUT WARNING CAUSING MY ESCAPE TO JERK FORWARD. I PARKED MY ESCAPE AND HAD IT TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP. I WAS TOLD BY THE REPAIR SHOP THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS "BURNED UP" AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. I HAD A REBUILT TRANSMISSION IN MY ESCAPE, COSTING ME $3,700 IN REPAIRS.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Escape. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000 (Power Train) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving approximately 40 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and came to a stop on a bridge with the engine still running. The contact was informed by her daughter that the “Service Transmission" and other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a transmission specialist, and it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the contact stated that the transmission failed two more times and required replacement. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
THE REAR VIEW CAMERA IS NOT WORKING OR WORKS INTERMITTENTLY WHEN THE CAR IS PLACED IN REVERSE
Reverse camera works intermittently. 90% of the time it either doesn't work or appears distorted.
My back up camera doesn't always work, sometimes blank, sometimes black screen. Once I shift to drive it tells me Back up camera not available. I was hoping I'd be included in the camera recall.
HERE I SIT WITH A 4 YEAR OLD CAR WITH LESS THAN 72,000 MILES GETTING IT'S TRANSMISSION REBUILD!!! AFTER SEEING ALL THE COMPLAINTS I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THIS HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL YET?? THIS IS VERY SORRY ON FORDS END. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THIS TRANSMISSION. IT GAVE ME VERY LITTLE WARNING. MADE A NOISE, LESS THAN HALF A MILE JUMPED TO 5,000 RPMS THEN THAT WAS IT... DEAD ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. LET'S NOT TALK ABOUT HOW HARD IT IS TO GET PARTS FOR THIS TRANSMISSION #1 DUE TO THE AGE #2 DUE TO THE VIRUS. FIX THIS ISSUE FORD!!!!
TRANSMISSION FAILED WITH NO WARNING. DRIVING HOME ONE DAY, GETTING OFF THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR HAD A DELAY IN ACCELERATING AND WOULD THEN SUDDENLY LURCH FORWARD. TRIED TO MAKE IT HOME WITH THE CAR, EVENTUALLY A "TRANSMISSION FAULT" MESSAGE CAME UP. NOW CAR IS SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY, ONLY 4 YEARS OLD AND I CAN'T USE IT TO WORK OR ANYTHING, WE BARELY GOT HOME. I'VE READ THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE WHO AND WHAT IS BEING DONE TO RESOLVE OR TO MANDATE A RECALL?
2016 FORD ESCAPE WITH LESS THAN 80 THOUSAND MILES WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE RANDOMLY ONE DAY. ENGINE WOULD REV. DEALERSHIP STATED THERE WAS METAL IN THE TRANSMISSION PAN AND THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THEY COULDN'T TELL ME THE CAUSE AND THAT IT WOULD COST 7 THOUSAND DOLLARS. FORD DOES NOT RECOMMEND TRANSMISSION SERVICE UNTIL 150 THOUSAND MILES AND THEIR WARRANTY EXPIRES AT 60 THOUSAND MILES BECAUSE THEY KNOW THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM. NOW I HAVE A CAR PAYMENT AND NO CAR. FORD NEEDS TO FIX THEIR SHOTTY PRODUCT.
WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC THE CAR LUNGES FORWARD AND JERKS IN TRAFFIC AND LOSSES POWER. NO TO LITTLE MOVEMENT WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. ALSO YOU CAN NOT ACCELERATE THAT IS A NON FACTOR AND YOU ARE IN THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC WITHOUT WARNING! MY CAR NEVER GAVE ME ANY SIGNS OF A BAD TRANSMISSION UNTIL OUT THE BLUE ONE DAY AND A TRANSMISSION VAULT LIGHT CAME ON MY DASH! MY FAMILY AND I WAS VISITING MY SON AT HIS COLLEGE TOWN OF BEVERCREEK OHIO WERE HE ATTENDED WRIGHT STATE UNIVERSITY AND THIS HAPPENED ON THE WEEKEND. I WAITED UNTIL THE WEEKDAY TO CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FORD GAVE ME A CASE #CAS27510020. MY SON DROPPED IT OFF AND MADE THE APPOINTMENT AND RENTED A CAR AND DROVE BACK TO CHICAGO. THE CAR IS AT GERMAINE FORD AND THEY CALLED HIM BACK AND SAID $4 THOUSAND OVERHAUL OR $8 THOUSAND FOR REPLACEMENT AND I STILL OWE A YEAR OR 2 YEARS WORTH OF PAYMENTS TOTALLY UNFAIR. A CAR SHOULD LAST LONGER THAN 85,000 MILES OFF HIGHWAY AND NORMAL DRIVING! P.S FORD HAS BEEN SUED FOR THERE POWER SHIFT TRANSMISSION FOR BAD TORQUE CONVERTERS , WHO'S TO SAY THEY ARE NOT USING THOSE SAME TORQUE CONVETERS IN THEIR 6SPEED AUTOMATIC SELECT SHIFT TRANSMISSIONS.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED AS OF YET. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,420.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD BE REPLACED WITH A REBUILT TRANSMISSION. THE CONTACT DECLINED THE REBUILT TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 116,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
Rear camera dosnt always want to work at times when backing up, there will be times where it comes on and cuts out , or it cuts out and comes back on on all pixelised (distorted) , or it dosnt come on at all , then there are times where it works , ive had my mechanic look into it and couldnt figure out the issue ...i did buy an oem backup camera from the junkyard off an escape 3 years newer then mine but didnt fix the issue

AFTER RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, WHILE DRIVING AT UNDISCLOSED SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE HESITATED AND STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WERE NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,000. THE CONSUMER STATED SNOW WAS ENTERING THE VEHICLE AT THE HATCH AND THE DRIVER SIDE BACK DOOR.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle abruptly came to a sudden stop. The contact indicated that the incident occurred without warning and nearly caused a collision while driving on a busy freeway. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
THE TRANSMISSION FAILED IN AUGUST 2019. WE REPLACED IT WITH A FORD TRANSMISSION AND NOW (JULY 2020) IT NEEDS REPAIR AGAIN. THE SERIAL NUMBER ON THE REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION IS 5136077
POWER STEERING NOT WORKING AND POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE LIGHT APPEARED. ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL STEERING.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TURBOCHARGER WAS LEAKING AND THEY NEEDED TO REPLACED THE TURBOCHARGER, FUEL LINE AND FUEL GASKET. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,805.
TRANSMISSION FAILED WITH NO WARNING. DRIVING HOME ONE DAY, GETTING OFF THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR HAD A DELAY IN ACCELERATING AND WOULD THEN SUDDENLY LURCH FORWARD. TRIED TO MAKE IT HOME WITH THE CAR, EVENTUALLY A "TRANSMISSION FAULT" MESSAGE CAME UP. HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER (CAPITAL FORD, RALEIGH NC). IT TOOK OVER TWO WEEKS FOR THEM TO LOOK AT MY CAR. THEY THEN CALLED AND TOLD ME THAT THE "TORQUE CONVERTER HAD COME APART" AND THAT I NEEDED A FULL TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT FOR $7500. MY CAR IS FOUR YEARS OLD AND BARELY OUTSIDE OF THE POWERTRAIN MILEAGE WARRANTY. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY ABSURD.

TRUCK STARTS, ENGINE REVS AND ALL BREAKS AND LIGHTS ARE WORKING. IT WAS FINE YESTERDAY WHEN I PARKED IT IN MY SLOPED DRIVEWAY. TODAY IT WILL NOT ENGAGE IN ORDER TO DRIVE.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 65 MPH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN OUT OF NOWHERE I COULDN'T ACCELERATE ANYMORE IT WAS ALMOST LIKE I WAS STUCK IN NEUTRAL BUT I WAS CLEARLY IN DRIVE. I BEGAN HAVING OTHER DRIVERS HONK AT ME AND TRYING TO PASS ME, I HAD MY DAUGHTER IN THE CAR WITH ME, IT WAS REALLY SCARY. I COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN IN A ACCIDENT. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY, TURNED MY HAZARDS ON, AND CALLED A TOW TRUCK. THE MECHANIC SAID MY TRANSMISSION WAS DONE AND I NEEDED A NEW ONE, HE ALSO SAID THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE FORD ESCAPES. I REPAIRED IT IT COST 5600$. THE PART THAT BOTHERED ME MOST WAS WHEN I CONTACTED FORD THEY DIDN'T CARE ONE BIT. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND FORD NEEDS TO RECALL THIS PART AND MAKE IT RIGHT AND STAND BEHIND THEIR NAME, BECAUSE I GUARANTEE THEY ARE FULLY AWARE OF THIS HAPPENING AND YET FAIL TO RECALL IT AND FIX IT.
BRAKES FAILED WITHOUT WARNING DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WITH MY FAMILY AND BREAKS WENT OUT WITHOUT ANY WARNING LIGHTS ANY NOISE OF PUMP FAILER, HAD TO DRIVE IN THE MEDIAN GRASS TO AVOID A COLLISION THAT WOULD HAVE KILLED MY FAMILY. THE PART THAT FAILED IS THE BRAKE VACUUM PUMP PART # BB5Z-2A451-C IT LOOKS AS IF AN INTERNAL PART INSIDE THIS PUMP FAILED CAUSING METAL SHAVINGS AND FAILING THE PUMP. A SIMILAR ISSUE REGARDING THE SAME PUMP IN THE F-150 WAS RECALLED IN CANADA.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY WITH MY FAMILY IN THE CAR, THE VEHICLE JUST SHUTS DOWN AND I PRAY THAT I CAN GET OVER TO THE SHOULDER TO TURN IT OFF AND LET IT REST. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN REPAIRED BUT CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.

My car has 25000.00 miles on it. This started last year. It is a 2016 escape. Runs fine until I put gas in it. The car will not start after I fill up. I thought I was crazy, as that is the only time it does this. Once I get it started it is fine until I fill up again. I look online to see if anyone else had this problem and found out it is common with this car. I spent 257.00 for new purge valve and it fixed the problem. The car never showed a check engine or code. This is a comon problem and should be recalled!

I RESET THE COMPUTER BY PULLING THE POSITIVE TERMINAL OFF THE BATTERY, INSERTING KEY TO ON POSITION, REPLACING POSITIVE TERMINAL. CONSULTED A REPUTABLE MECHANIC. HELP

The roof rack leaks every time it rains or gets wet car wash etc. Underneath that roof rack mounting hole is the curtain airbag which is soaked every time that happens. The airbag is rusting/staining my headliner and I think based on that tachata recall this would be under the same scrutiny. Concerned about whether or not the airbag will deploy of if it's corroding away each time it rains. I reached out to Ford when the unit was under warranty and no assistance from them. I then tried to take things into my own hands and silicone it but it still leaks. I have no idea how or where anymore. Still assuming the roof rack though
2016 FORD ESCAPE W/ONLY 64K MILES. I DROVE TO PICK UP MY DAUGHTER IN CHICAGO ABOUT 2.5 HOURS AWAY FROM HOME WITH ABSOLUTELY NO SIGNS OF PROBLEMS. ON THE WAY BACK, I STOPPED AT THE GAS STATION, ON THE OASIS, AND SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE. WHEN I STARTED IT BACK UP (JUST A FEW MINUTES LATER) THE WARNING POPPED UP ON THE DASH AND IT BECAME NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE... DROVE STRAIGHT (LITERALLY) TO THE FORD SERVICE DEPT & $2030 LATER (CUZ OF COURSE WARRANTY IS DEPLETED), I CAN STEER AGAIN. I SERIOUSLY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY I HAVE TO PAY SUCH A HEFTY CHARGE JUST BECAUSE FORD MOTOR DIDN'T LEARN FROM THEIR 'POWER STEERING ASSIST' RECALL BACK IN 2014 AND ACTUALLY CORRECT THE PROBLEM.

THEN A SENSOR WENT ON. I HAD TO GET IT TOWED. THIS IS SOME SORT OF DEFECT. A COUPLE OF DAYS BEFORE IT WENT OUT IT WAS CHUGGING IN LIW GEAR. LIKE IT KEPT SLIPPING. ONCE AGAIN NO LIGHTS CAME ON. SO I CONTINUED TO DRIVE THINKING IT WAS JUST BECAUSE IT WAS IN LOW GEAR. THEN THE DAY IT WENT OUT. I WENT TO PUT IT IN REVERSE AND IT WOULD NOT GO. OVER THE PAST YEAR (PURCHASED VEHICLE 4/30/2019), I'VE EXPERIENCED STALLING AT DIFFERENT INSTANCES. THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED WHILE WAITING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. IT HAS STALLED WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. IN THE PAST YEAR, I'VE TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE FORD DEALER FOR REPAIR ON 2 OCCASIONS BECAUSE OF THIS. THE FIRST TIME I TOOK IT IN 2019, THEY SAID THAT THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. DURING THIS PERIOD, THE ENGINE LIGHT WASN'T ON. HOWEVER, THE LAST TIME I TOOK IT IN, THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT FORDS INFORMED ME THAT I NEEDED THE CO2 SENSOR REPLACED. I PAID THEM $500 TO REPLACE THE SENSOR. THE VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN ON MY WAY HOME FROM FORDS. I CALLED THEM AS SOON AS GOT HOME TO INFORM THEM THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN. AGAIN, I WILL BE TAKING IT BACK TO THEM ON 4/27. I ALSO FOUND OUT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS RECALLED IN 2017 OF AUGUST, RECALL # 17C11 (AIR BAG ISSUE). ACCORDING TO THE HISTORY OF THE VEHICLE, THIS HAS NEVER BEEN ADDRESSED/REPAIRED/REPLACED.
DROVE THE CAR 90 MILES TO THE HOSPITAL WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS OR NO SIGNS THAT ANYTHING WAS GOING WRONG. AFTER THE HOSPITAL VISIT WAS OVER, AND WE STARTED TO LEAVE THE HOSPITAL, THE VEHICLE STOPPED MOVING FORWARD WHILE STILL ACCELERATING. THE ENGINE FAULT FAILURE WARNING APPEARED ALONG WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT. I STOPPED THE CAR. SHUT IF OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN. THE CAR PROCEEDED TO MOVE FORWARD BUT THEN QUICKLY LOST THE DRIVING POWER AGAIN. IT WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD ON ACCELERATION. WHEN PLACING THE VEHICLE IN GEAR TO MOVE IT WOULD MAKE A CLUNKING NOISE LIKE IT WAS HAVING ISSUES PULLING INTO GEAR. WE ENDED UP STRANDED AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT IN THE HEAVY INTERSECTION OUTSIDE OF THE HOSPITAL. NO.ACCIDENTS HAPPENED. I WAS ABLE TO AVOID IT AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO NEAREST FORD GARAGE.
DRIVING DOWN VERY BUSY STREET AND VEHICLE STALLED AS I PULLED UP TO TRAFFIC LIGHT AND CAME TO A STOP. AS MANY AS 3-4 TIMES I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED WHILE TRYING TO GET VEHICLE STARTED. PROBLEM SEEMED TO ONLY OCCUR WHEN FUEL TANK IS BELOW 1/2 TANK AND I WOULD NOTICE FUEL FILL PORT FLAPPER VIBRATING AND SUCKING AIR INTO FUEL TANK. THE FORD FOCUS HAS THIS RECALL ON THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE, WHY NOT ON A FORD ESCAPE. SAME PART USED ON BOTH. THIS PROBLEM WENT ON FOR TWO WEEKS BEFORE I COULD GET VEHICLE INTO DEALERSHIP.

AFTER WAITING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR THREE HOURS, MY 2016 FORD ESCAPE WITH 69,123 MILES, WAS TOWED BACK TO MY HOMETOWN TO A TRUSTED MECHANIC. AFTER LOOKING OVER THE VEHICLE, IT WAS DETERMINED THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED WHO ADVISED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TRANSFERRED TO THE DEALERSHIP TO BE DIAGNOSED. A COUPLE DAYS LATER, THE TECH CALLED AND STATED THE TRANSMISSION DID IN FACT NEED TO BE REPLACED FOR A COST OF $7505.00. THE GM OF THE DEALERSHIP STATED THEY CONTACTED FORD DIRECTLY AND THEY WERE NOT WILLING TO ASSIST, AS 'FORD HAS NO ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE AND TRANSMISSIONS.' THE GM FURTHER STATED I COULD ROLL OVER WHAT I OWED AND DRIVE OFF IN A BRAND NEW ESCAPE FOR $500.00 A MONTH. AFTER RESEARCH, IT'S CLEAR THE TRANSMISSIONS ARE DEFECTIVE, COSTING MANY PEOPLE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO REPAIR. MY VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO OUR TRUSTED MECHANIC WHERE IT WILL BE REPAIRED FOR $3500.00.
