TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO ROLL AWAY IN REVERSE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO JUMP BACK INTO THE VEHICLE AND APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. THE CONTACT DID NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER OR LOCAL MECHANIC FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE CONTACT STATED IT WAS DIFFICULT TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO PARK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 162,835.
WHILE VEHICLE IS OFF THE HEATER BLOWERS WILL TURN ON AND RUN BATTERY DOWN. WHILE DRIVING 4X4, WASHER LIGHTS, POWER WINDOWS, RADIO, INTERIOR LIGHTS ALL TURN OFF AND ON. RADIO WORKS WHILE IN PARK BUT, POWERS DOWN WHEN VEHICLE IS PUT IN GEAR. HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH WATER GETTING IN AND RUNNING DOWN DRIVERS SIDE. APPEARS ALOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN 2001 JUST STARTED HAVING THESE ISSUES WITHIN THE PAST YEAR STARTED OUT SLOW BUT ARE GETTING WORST AND MORE FREQUENT. *TR
VEHICLE SITTING IN DRIVEWAY AFTER 2 DAYS OF RAIN. WENT TO START UP VEHICLE AND BATTERY DEAD. TOOK BATTERY OUT TO BE TESTED AND TESTED FINE. SPENT $165 ON ALTERNATOR REPLACEMENT. VEHICLE DEAD AGAIN NEXT MORNING. CHARGED BATTERY STARTED VEHICLE UP. NOTICED WATER IN FLOORBOARDS AND HEADLINER. WHEN KEY WAS REMOVED FROM IGNITION, RADIO WAS STILL ON AND DOOR WOULD STILL DING AS IF KEY IN IGNITION. BATTERY DEAD AGAIN SEVERAL HOURS LATER. AFTER DOING RESEARCH, WAS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED TO LEARN THE ISSUE IS VERY WELL DOCUMENTED WITH IMPROPERLY SEALED WINDSHIELDS. RATHER THAN FORD PAYING TO RESEAL OR INFORM CONSUMERS TO FIX OUT OF THEIR OWN POCKETS, THEY ALLOWED CONSUMERS TO EXPERIENCE DREADFUL ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTIONS WITH VEHICLE. WITHOUT GOING TO MECHANIC, I REMOVED BOTH THE GEM MODULE AND FUSE BOX. PUT FAX IN VEHICLE TO SPEED UP THE DRYING PROCESS. ALLOWED FUSE BOX TO SIT INSIDE FOR A WEEK AND ORDERED A GEM MODULE OFF THE INTERNET. CLEANED CORROSION FROM FUSE BOX/GEM CONNECTORS AND REPLACED GEM MODULE. VEHICLE PERFORMS MUCH BETTER. THINGS THAT HAVEN'T WORKED IN YEARS (AUTO LOCKS) NOW WORK. HOWEVER, RADIO LOSES POWER INTERMITTENTLY WHICH IS FRUSTRATING. I OWN 2 FORDS AND AM A VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED CONSUMER THAT SOMETHING THAT COULD HAVE BEEN FIXED FOR $100 HAVE COST LOYAL CONSUMERS THOUSANDS. *TR
WHILE PICKING UP SPEED FROM A STOP LIGHT MY TRUCK WENT INTO 4X4 BY ITSELF AND LOCKED UP MY TIRES. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT OFF THE ROAD AND CALLED TRIPLE A FOR A TOW. WE UNHOOKED THE BATTERY AND IT SEEMS TO BE WORKING NOW. ALSO HAVE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AS WELL. MY ODOMETER SOMETIMES WORKS SOMETIMES DOESN'T, MY RADIO VOLUME GOES UP WHEN YOU TURN IT DOWN. *TR
MY 2000 FORD EXPEDITION WILL NOT STAY IN PARK. AND WHEN IT IS IN PARK AFTER A COUPLE MINUTES IT WILL JUST GO BACKWARDS. MY FORD HAS ALREADY HIT A PARKED VEHICLE. I WAS WARMING HER UP. I GOT OUT TO SHUT MY BACK HATCH IT JUST TOOK OFF BACKWARDS WHILE STILL IN PARK AND HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. I TRIED JUMPING IN THE MY TRUCK PUT WAS DRAGGED AND UNABLE TO STOP IT. I DON'T FEEL SAFE BUT HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO DEAL WITH THIS ISSUE. MANY MECHANICS LOOKED AT IT SAID THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT'S CAUSING THE PROBLEM. *TR
EXPEDITION CAUGHT ON FIRE IN MY MOM'S DRIVEWAY ABOUT 8:30 P.M. IT HAD BEEN PARKED FOR ABOUT 3 HOURS AND FLAMES BEGAN COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. MY MOMS NEIGHBOR THAT LIVES IN THE NEXT BLOCK SAW THE FLAMES AND CAME TO TELL US THAT MY VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. I CALLED 911. THE POLICE DEPARTMENT BLOCKED THE STREET FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT GOT HERE AND EXTINGUISHED THE FLAMES. *TR
INTERIOR LIGHTS AND DIGITAL ODOMETER LIGHT GOES OUT AND THEN COME BACK ON EVERY NOW AND THEN. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN A RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY. AS HE STARTED THE ENGINE, HE NOTICED BLACK SMOKE AND THEN FLAMES COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO RAPIDLY EXIT THE VEHICLE AND FELL, INJURING HIS BACK, LEG AND FOOT. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS NOTIFIED WHO ARRIVED TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. A FIRE REPORT WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,000.

AS I WAS SLOWING TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN THE ENGINE MADE AN EXTREMELY LOUD NOISE. AFTER INVESTIGATING WE FOUND A SPARK PLUG LOOSE UNDER THE HOOD. THE SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT OF THE HEAD AND STRIPPED OUT THE THREADS. AFTER LOOKING THIS UP ON THE INTERNET I FOUND IT HAPPENS OFTEN BUT THAT THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALLS. MY EXPEDITION HAS A TRITON 5.4 ENGINE. *TR
WE ARE THE LIEN HOLDER ON A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION. OUT CUSTOMER SAID THAT HIS VEHICLE EXPLODED BESIDE HIS MOBILE HOME AFTER SITTING THERE FOR 2 DAYS. THE MOBILE HOME RECEIVED BURN DAMAGES BUT WAS NOT A TOTAL LOSS. THE CAR WAS A TOTAL LOSS AND BURNED ALL OF THE CAR. OUR CUSTOMER SAID THAT THE VEHICLE HAD TWO MORE EXPLOSION AFTER THE FIRST ONE. ALL THE EXPLOSION WERE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE SHERIFF''S DEPARTMENT LISTED THE INCIDENT STATUS AS UNFOUNDED. NO ONE WAS INJURED. *TR
WHEN MAKING A RIGHT TURN ONTO A HIGH-TRAFFIC, FOUR-LANE SURFACE STREET, BOTH REAR LOWER CONTROL ARMS FAILED UNDER ACCELERATION. THIS FAILURE CAUSED THE REAR AXLE TO TWIST, THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL TO SHIFT POSITION, AND FOR THE DRIVE SHAFT U-JOINTS TO BIND. THE RESULT WAS AN EFFECTIVE LOSS OF POWER AND AN IN INABILITY TO ACCELERATE TO MATCH TRAFFIC FLOW. SEVERAL VEHICLES HAD TO BRAKE HARD OR SWERVE INTO THE ADJACENT LANE TO AVOID THE OBSTRUCTION MY VEHICLE CREATED. *TR

CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, REASON UNKNOWN BUT APPARENTLY IT HAD TO DO WITH A RECALL ON THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH . WE NEVER RECEIVED ANY LETTER'S OR NOTICES OF THE FOLLOWING RECALL. VEHICHLE WAS DESTROYED AND WE ALSO HAD PROPERTY DAMAGE TO CARPORT AND HOUSE TOTALLING $40,000. *TT
I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH MY 2000 FORD EXPEDITION UNTIL MAY 25, 2012. I HAD TAKEN MY HUSBAND AND DAUGHTER TO MY PARENT'S HOUSE AND WAS GOING TO GO INTO TOWN. I WAS ABOUT 50 FEET FROM THE STOP SIGN WHEN I SUDDENLY HEARD A LOUD BANG AND MY VEHICLE STARTED SOUNDING LIKE A LAWNMOWER! I WAS NOT SURE WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND WAS AFRAID IF I TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE IT WOULD NOT RESTART, YET I DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE IT TO CONTINUE TO RUN BECAUSE I DID NOT WANT TO FURTHER DAMAGE THE MOTOR. LUCKILY, SINCE I WAS ONLY A BLOCK AWAY, I JUST DECIDED TO DRIVE IT RIGHT BACK TO MY PARENT'S HOUSE; WHERE I HAD TO HAVE AAA COME AND TOW IT BACK TO MY TOWN TO THE SHOP. COME TO FIND OUT, I BLEW THE #3 SPARK PLUG. I WAS NOT AWARE OF THIS EVER HAPPENING; BUT I AM NOW. I DRIVE MY CHILDREN TO AND FROM SCHOOL EVERY DAY IN THIS VEHICLE. NOW I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE I AM AFRAID IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN, AND I AM NOT IN A POSITION TO BUY A NEW VEHICLE. FORD SHOULD OWN UP TO THIS DESIGN FLAW IN THEIR MOTORS. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION XLT. THE CONTACT WAS TRAVELING 35 MPH WHEN SMOKE WAS SEEN COMING FROM THE VENTS AND NEAR THE ACCELERATOR. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER IN A NEARBY PARKING LOT AND EXITED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE THEN BURST INTO FLAMES. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE AND FIRE REPORT WERE FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
THE 2000 EXPEDITION EDDIE BAUER WAS PURCHASED WITH 117,208 MILES FROM RON MARHAUFER AUTOMALL INC IN THE YEAR 2011. IN THE LAST SIX MONTHS I HAVE EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE SPENT OVER $1000.00 DOLLARS REPLACING NUMEROUS PARTS EX: TWO ELECTRICAL COILS AND A ALTERNATOR. THE VEHICLE WILL RUN OK, I NOTICED THAT IF I DRIVE AND STOP AND PARK TWO TOO THREE TIMES, THE AUTO WILL NOT START RIGHT AWAY. I HAVE TO CONTINUALLY TAKE THE CAR OUT OF GEAR AND RETURN THE GEAR SHIFTER TO PARK. THE AUTO WILL THEN START. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE DASH LIGHTS WILL ILLUMINATE TO BRIGHT ON THEIR OWN WHILE DRIVING. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY IS AWARE OF THESE ISSUES AND HAVE FAILED TO RECALL ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES. I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS FRO THE SAME REASON. WHAT IS THE SOLUTION? *TR

THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 165,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHERE THE REAR LOWER CONTROL ARMS WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. I BEGAN NOTICING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH THE LIGHTS GOING ON AND OFF, DASH GAUGES GOING ON AND OFF, RADIO GOING ON AND OFF, HEATER GOING ON AND OFF, DOOR ALARM STAYING ON WHEN DRIVER'S DOOR IS OPEN, BUT NO KEY IN IGNITION OR LIGHTS ON, DOOR LOCKS NOT WORKING PROPERLY, 4WD ENGAGING AUTOMATICALLY, CD PLAYER GOING OFF AND ON, WINDSHIELD WIPERS GOING ON AND OFF, AND WATER ON DRIVER'S SIDE FLOOR AFTER RAINS. IT HAS BECOME MORE OF A PROBLEM. I DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS CAUSING THE PROBLEMS UNTIL I BEGAN REPLACING PARTS AND FOUND ON THE INTERNET THAT THIS HAS BEEN A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE EXPEDITION AND FORD BEING AWARE OF THE PROBLEM FOR MANY YEARS. I JUST WROTE THE FORD COMPANY AND THEY TOLD ME THEY KNEW NOTHING ABOUT SUCH PROBLEMS!!! DURING RAINY PERIODS THE STEREO AND WINDHSHIELD WIPERS WILL TURN OFF AND ON BY THEMSELVES. IF THE TRUCK IS TURNED OFF THE STEREO AND AC WILL STAY ON AND LOCKS WILL LOCK AND UNLOCK BY THEMSELVES. SMOKE COMES UP FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. THE TURN SIGNALS WILL BLINK A FEW TIMES THEN STOP BLINKIN BUT THE LIGHT WILL STAY ON. *JS
THE FORD EXPEDITION MODEL YEAR 2000 WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 HOURS ON THE EVENING OF FEBRUARY 13,2012. THE FAMILY WENT TO BED AND WAS AWAKENED AROUND 8:30PM BY A POLICE OFFICER WHO HAD KICKED THE FRONT DOOR OF THE RESIDENCE IN TO INFORM US OUR GARAGE WAS ON FIRE. THE SMOKE HAD NOT YET ENTERED THE HOME BUT SOME FUMES WERE THOUGHT TO BE COMING THROUGH THE DUCT SYSTEM CAUSING US TO SLEEP MORE DEEPLY. WE GOT OUT OF THE HOUSE AND CROSSED THE STREET BY THAT TIME THE GARAGE WAS FULLY ENGAGED IN FLAMES. THE METAL GARAGE DOORS MELTED WITH THE HEAT. LATER WHEN THE FIRE WAS PUT OUT THE FIRE CHIEF DID AN INVESTIGATION TO SAY THE FIRE ORIGINATED IN THE FORD BEHIND THE LOCATION OF THE BATTERY. THE INSURANCE COMPANY SENT OUT SPECIALISTS WHO SAID IT WAS THE SPEED CONTROL MODULE THAT WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE. MY FAMILY HAS BEEN DISPLACED FOR 3-6 MONTHS WHILE REPAIRS ARE DONE TO THE HOUSE. BOTH OF OUR VEHICLES WERE IN THE GARAGE AND WERE A TOTAL LOSS FROM THE FIRE. THE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE WAS A CARPENTER AND LOST ALL OF HIS TOOLS FROM THE FIRE. *TR
AFTER A MODERATE RAIN, WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE WIPERS, DEFROSTER AND WINDOWS STOPPED WORKING AND THE RADIO BEGAN BLINKING IN AND OUT. SINCE THIS INCIDENT, IT SEEMS THAT AFTER ANY RAIN, THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM GOES CRAZY, I HEAR RELAYS CLICKING UNDER THE DASH, THINGS DON'T WORK WHEN TURNED ON, OR DO WORK WITH THEM TURNED OFF. SEVERAL TIMES THE BLOWER FOR THE HEAT WOULD KEEP OR TURN ON AFTER I SHUT THE TRUCK OFF. ABSOLUTELY A SAFETY HAZARD THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED IF THIS IS THAT COMMON A PROBLEM. > ALSO MY MECHANIC SAID IT WILL COST UPWARDS OF $1000 TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AND NOT GUARANTEED NOT TO HAPPEN AGAIN. *TR
MY HUSBAND WAS INVOLVED IN A ROLLOVER ACCIDENT ON HIS WAY TO WORK. HIS AIR BAGS DID NOT GO OFF. THANK GOD NO ONE ELSE WAS INJURED OR KILLED. HE HAS BRUISED RIBS, A HEAD INJURY, CONCUSSION AND ABRASIONS ON HIS HEAD. HE HAD BRUISES AND SCRATCHES ON HIS NECK. HE HAD BRACED HIMSELF ON THE STEERING WHEEL, HOPING THE AIR BAG WOULD GO OFF AND NEVER DID. FORD TOOK THE CLAIM BUT HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM THUS FAR. WE HAVE HEARD THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME AIR BAGS HAVE NOT GONE OFF. HE IS LUCKY TO BE ALIVE. THE VEHICLE IS TOTALED. *TR
I HAVE A 2000 FORD EXPEDITION THE PAST 3 DAYS WE HAVE HAD HARD RAINS. I WENT OUT TO MY CAR AND FOUND THAT THE FLOOR ON BOTH THE DRIVERS SIDES AND PASSENGER SIDE OF THE SUV WAS FLOODED. MY RADIO WAS ON THE CAR WAS NOT. THE DASH LIGHT WERE GOING CRAZY. I STARTED THE CAR TO MOVE IT SO THAT I COULD GET IT NEAR AN OUTLET TO USE THE WET VAC TO REMOVE THE WATER AND THE WIPERS WOULD NOT WORK. I REMOVED THE WATER FROM THE FLOORS AND WHEN I WENT TO MOVE MY EXPEDITION IT WOULD NOT START IT SEEMS THAT IT IS LEAKING FROM THE WINDSHIELD. I NOTICED THAT THERE ARE ALOT OF COMPLAINTS ON WATER LEAKAGE ON EXPEDITIONS. NOW I AM WORRIED THAT THE WATER MAY HAVE SHORTED OUT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. *KB
I THOUGHT WHEN I BOUGHT THIS CAR THAT I WOULD HAVE A VEHICLE TO TAKE MY SON TO GET HIS CHEMOTHERAPY BUT I THOUGHT WRONG! IT STARTED WITH THE AIR SUSPENSION THAT DROPPED TO THE GROUND WHEN MY SHOCKS GAVE OUT AND THE REAR AIRBAGS COULDN'T HOLD THE WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE BUT I WAS SITTING IN THE CAR RIDER LINE AT MY SON'S SCHOOL AT A DEAD STOP WHEN THEY DECIDED TO GO. (SO MUCH EASIER TO LOOK THE FOOL) WE THEN FOUND HOSES THAT HAD CORRODED APART THAT WERE VACUUM HOSES AND THINKING THAT WAS THE PROBLEM WE FIXED THEM. IT WASN'T THE PROBLEM. WE HAVE A 2000 FORD EDDIE BAUER EXPEDITION WITH 111,000 MILES. WE PURCHASED NEW &IT HAS BEEN GARAGED KEPT & ALWAYS WASHED AT THE CAR WASH AFTER A SNOW STORM. TOOK THE TRUCK FOR INSPECTION ON 8/15/11 AND WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC TO STOP DRIVING THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY DUE TO FAILURE OF THE LOWER CONTROL ARMS. WE WHERE ADVISED IF THE CONTROL ARMS BROKE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT COULD OCCUR, ESPECIALLY @ HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE UPPER CONTROL ARMS ARE BEGINNING TO SHOW SIGNS OF CHIPPING OF THE POWDER COATING WHICH WILL MORE THAN LIKELY LEAD TO PREMATURE FAILURE. WE HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE ON LINE & FOUND THAT THERE ARE OTHERS WHO ARE ALSO EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE RUSTING OF THE LOWER CONTROL ARMS. I WENT APPROX. 3 MILES WHEN SMOKE STARTED TO COME OUT OF THE HEATING VENTS IN MY 2000 FORD EXPEDITION. A FEW SEC. AFTER THE TRUCK BEGAN TO SMOKE FLAMES WERE STARTING TO COME OUT OF THE AREA BY THE DRIVERS SIDE FEET. UNDER THE DASH. MY HUSBAND PUT OUT THE FIRE AND SUSTAINED SEVERE 2ND DEGREE BURNS ON HIS FORE ARM HAND WRIST AND CHIN. HE WAS ABLE TO SEE THE FIRE STARTED BY CORRODED WIRES UNDER THE KICK PLATE. ALL THE WIRES HAVE MELTED AND NOW 4X4 ISN'T WORKING WINDOWS ARE NOT WORKING LIGHTS INSIDE OF TRUCK STAY ON HEADLIGHTS STAY ON NO TAIL LIGHTS NO DASH LIGHTS POWER WINDOWS AND DOOR LOCKS NO LONGER WORK, SPEAKER ON DRIVER SIDE DOES NOT WORK. HAZARD LIGHTS DO NOT BLINK THEY JUST STAY ON. TEMP IN THE TRUCK READS 140 DEG. F. WE HAVE NOT YET HAD THIS LOOKED AT. EXTENDED OVER 15 INCHES AND WAS CLOSE TO THE RIM AS EVIDENCED IN MOST BLOWOUTS. THE CAR WAS PARKED FOR ABOUT 2 HOURS AFTER A TIRE ROTATION WHEN IT RUPTURED ABRUPTLY. RESULTED IN A TEAR OF ABOUT 12 INCHES AND THEN ENDED IN AN EXTENSION TO THE TREAD. *TR

MECHANIC DOCUMENTED THAT BOTH REAR LOWER TRAILING ARMS HAD RUSTED ALL THE WAY THROUGH AND WERE BROKEN. MECHANIC ALSO NOTED THAT BOTH REAR UPPER TRAILING ARMS WERE VERY RUSTY. ACCORDING TO THE FORD SERVICE BULLETIN THIS WAS FIRST DISCOVERED WELL WITHIN THE FACTORY WARRANTY PERIOD OF THE VEHICLE. AN ONLINE SEARCH FOUND NUMEROUS SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ALONG WITH A FORD SERVICE BULLETIN FORD SPECIAL MESSAGE #15773. REPAIRS TO MY VEHICLE INCLUDED REMOVING AND REPLACING GEM AND CJB ALONG WITH RESEALING THE WINDSHIELD. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW IN APRIL 2000 AND IT HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. REPAIR COST WAS OVER $1400 FOR A LATENT DEFECT THAT HAS BEEN IN THE VEHICLE SINCE IT WAS BUILT. *TR
THE LOWER CONTROL ARMS ON THE REAR SUSPENSION HAVE EXCESSIVE RUST AND THEY BREAK OFF WITH ENGINE TORQUE OR THROTTLE. THE DRIVE SHAFT BREAKS OFF WHEN THE REAR AXLE ROTATES AND THIS LOCKS UP THE REAR AXLE, AND ALSO SNAPS THE EMERGENCY BRAKE CABLE. THE DAMAGES ARE UP TO 3500.00 DOLLARS AND CLIMBING. THIS IS HAPPENING ON ALL VEHICLES WHERE THE NEW ROAD SALT IS USED IN EXCESS. THIS SHOULD BE A MAJOR RECALL. *TR

IF THE CAR STARTS SOMETIMES THE WIPERS WILL NOT WORK, THE HORN WILL NOT WORK, RADIO WILL NOT WORK, LIGHTS WILL NOT WORK OR BLINKERS GO ON. ANY OR ALL OF THIS MAY OCCUR. SOMETIMES AND ODER LIKE BURNING OR SOUR GAS WILL OCCUR. IF THE RAIN QUITS AND THE VEHICLE SITS FOR MINUTES TO HOURS ALL THESE SYMPTOMS GO AWAY. I HAVE PULLED THE LOWER KICKER PANEL ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND FOUND EVIDENCE OF WATER BELOW THE GEM NEAR THE EDGE OF THE CARPET. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE THE PROBLEM REPORTED BY MANY AS THE WATER ENTERING FROM THE WINDSHIELD AND SHORTING AT THE GEM FUSE CONNECTION. I AM CONTACTING THE DEALER, IF THEY WILL NOT TAKE CARE OF IT I WILL HAVE A WINDSHIELD REPLACEMENT COMPANY TRY TO RESEAL AND EXAMINE FOR LEAKS. WE BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE IN FEBRUARY 2010 IT RAN PERFECTLY UNTIL WE GOT THE FIRST SNOW OF THE YEAR AND THEN WE STARTED HAVING MAJOR ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. WE LET IT SIT WITH THE BATTERY DISCONNECTED FOR AWHILE THEN TRIED IT AGAIN. THE SUV RAN GREAT FOR ABOUT 8 WEEKS THEN IT SNOWED AGAIN AND IT SUDDENLY STARTED TRYING TO START ITSELF AND WE DO NOT HAVE REMOTE START!!! NOW IT DOES IT EVERY TIME YOU SHIFT, START IT, OR WHENEVER IT IS PARKED IT JUST STARTS CRANKING AWAY!! I NOW HAVE SMOKE COMING FROM SOMEWHERE BEHIND THE FUSE BOX! THE FUSES ARE ALL GOOD AND I CAN'T SEE ANY PROBLEM WITH THE WIRING...
