BOLTS ON FRONT PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE SEATBELT RESTRAINT ANCHORS TO HE SIDE WALL LOOSENED ALMOST COMPLETELY OFF. THIS POSES A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. THE FORD DEALERSHIP HAS NEVER NOTICED OR CORRECTED THE PROBLEM IN THE FOUR YEARS WE HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL INJECTORS WERE STUCK OPEN AND FLOODED THE ENGINE. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT BOTH CATALYTIC CONVERTERS WERE RUINED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND THE ENGINE WAS POSSIBLY DAMAGED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL RELATED TO THE FAILURE FOR PREVIOUS MODEL YEARS AND WARRANTIES WERE EXTENDED AS A RESULT. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT EXTEND THE WARRANTY ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT FILED A COMPLAINT. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 65,000. UPDATED 11/19/10. *LJ UPDATED 10/27/10. *LJ THE CONSUMER STATED A NEW ENGINE WAS PUT IN THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, HE CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS. THE DEALER STATED THE #6 CYLINDER HAD COMPRESSED CAUSING THE PISTON TO STOP A HALF INCH FROM THE TOP WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SHUT DOWN. UPDATED 11/24/10
2006 FORD EXPEDITION SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING ENGINE GOES INTO FAIL SAFE MODE WHICH IS LIKE NEUTRAL WITH LIMITED STEERING CAPABILITIES AND NO GAS PEDAL USE. BOUGHT VEHICLE IN DEC 09. THIS VEHICLE HAS DONE THIS APPROX 7 TIMES. HAS HAPPENED WHILE ON SURFACE STREETS AS WELL AS THE FREEWAY. VERY DANGEROUS. AT DEALER FOR THIRD TIME AND THEY ARE GIVING A THIRD REASON FOR IT HAPPENING. CHECKED INTERNET AND IT IS FULL OF COMPLAINTS OF EXACTLY SAME PROBLEM WITH NO RESOLUTION FROM ANY MECHANICS BUT SEVERAL DIFFERENT REASONS THEY WERE GIVEN. A DEFINITE SAFETY ISSUE! ON THE PHONE WITH FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE TODAY ABOUT THE ISSUE. THEY WILL GET BACK TO ME TOMORROW. NO RECALLS ON THIS, APPARENTLY UNTIL SOMEONE GETS HURT. THIS IS ANOTHER TOYOTA ISSUE WAITING TO HAPPEN. I AM A STATE TROOPER AND YOU CAN BELIEVE I FEEL THIS IS SERIOUS AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. ENGINE SAFE FAIL MODE CAME ON WHILE DRIVING MY 2006 FORD EXPEDITION WHICH ALSO LEAD TO THE VEHICLE SHUTTING DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. THE NEXT READING THAT WAS CONNECTED TO THIS WARNING WAS...ENGINE OFF...LOW FUEL OIL PRESSURE. I CHECKED UNDER THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANY OIL LEAKS OR IF THE READING WAS REALLY LOW AND ALL SEEN FINE. THIS IS A VERY SCARY INCIDENT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE JUST SHUTS DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF TRASH WHICH COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT MAYBE FATAL. *TR
MY FAMILY, WHICH I HAVE FIVE CHILDREN IN THE TRUCK. ON 10FWY ON MOTHERS DAY EXPEDITION LOST POWER IN SECOND LANE 65MPH FLOWING W/ TRAFFIC. WE MANAGED TO GET IN EMERGENCY LANE. HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS HAPPENING! AMBER LIGHT APPEARS (WRENCH)?? CLUELESS. PUT TRUCK IN "PARK" TURNED OFF TRUCK WAITED 5 MINUTES. TRUCK STARTED?? DROVE HOME AS TRUCK IS NOT UNSAFE. PARKED TRUCK FOR 3-DAYS NOW TRUCK WILL NOT TURN ON. DEALER WILL LOOK AT TRUCK FOR CHARGE OF COURSE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD EXPEDITION. WHILE DRIVING AT 5 MPH, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT WOULD LIGHTLY TAP ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IN ORDER TO GET IT TO ENGAGE. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ALSO ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT ONE OF THE COIL PACKS WAS DEFECTIVE AND IT WS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED ONLY ONE COIL PACK WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALER BUT THERE WERE TWO ADDITIONAL COIL PACKS THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
I HAVE A 2006 FORD EXPEDITION EDDIE BAUER UNDER 5 YEARS OLD THAT THE TAILGATE IS SEVERELY BLISTERED ALL OVER, PAINT HAS EVEN POPPED OFF OF IT. THERE IS ALSO SOME ON THE HOOD. THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP ADMITTED THAT FORD HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE BLISTERING PAINT AND TOLD ME HOW BAD MY VEHICLE WAS. THEY TOOK PICTURES AND SENT TO FORD. FORD REP DENIED IT AND I WAS TOLD THAT EVEN IF HOLES APPEARED AS A RESULT NOW THEY WOULD DO NOTHING FOR ME BECAUSE THEY HAD ALREADY DENIED AND ONLY LOOK AT A CLAIM FOR ONE THING ONE TIME. I PURSUED FURTHER BY CALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EMAILING THEM AS WELL. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP ALSO ADMITTED THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH PAINT BLISTER BUT COULD DO NOTHING FOR ME BECAUSE IT HAD ALREADY BEEN DENIED. I HAVE OWNED FORDS ALL OF MY LIFE AND EVEN WORKED FOR A LINCOLN MERCURY DEALERSHIP FOR SEVERAL YEARS. I AM CONTINUING TO PURSUE THIS AS FAR AS I CAN AND ASK FOR ANY HELP THAT CAN BE OFFERED IN THIS MATTER. *TR
2006 FORD EXPEDITION (LAW ENFORCEMENT PACKAGE) WITH STEEL WHEELS AND APPROX. 120,000 MILES; WHEEL SEPARATION (CRACKED ALONG WELD). PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THIS VEHICLE WAS USED DAILY FOR ROUTINE LAW ENFORCEMENT PATROL DUTIES. WE HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE ON SEVERAL 2006 EXPEDITIONS. UPON LEARNING OF THE POTENTIAL FOR THE WHEEL FAILURE, WE HAVE IMPLEMENTED PROCEDURES TO INSPECT THE WHEELS FOR CRACKS AND OTHER DAMAGE REGULARLY. IN ALL CASES, THERE HAVE BEEN NO OBVIOUS WARNING SIGNS BEFORE FAILURE. THIS PROBLEM WAS DISCOVERED WHEN THE OFFICER NOTICED A FLAT TIRE PRIOR TO STARTING HIS SHIFT FOR THE DAY. UPON FINDING THE CRACKED WHEEL A NEW REPLACEMENT WHEEL WAS INSTALLED ON THE VEHICLE. *TR
2006 FORD EXPEDITION FAILSAFE MODE COMES ON. IT HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES IN 4 MONTHS. HAVE LOSS OF STEERING AND ENGINE HAS NO POWER. VERY DANGEROUS. *TR
SEAT BELT BOLTS ON DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE SHOULDER MOUNTS WERE DISCOVERED TO BE NEARLY COMPLETELY LOOSENED, POTENTIALLY CAUSING INJURY OR DEATH IN EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. BROUGHT IT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE DEALER, AND THEY CHARGED FOR THE TIGHTENING OF THE BOLTS. *TR
DRIVING TO WORK VIA FREEWAY, HAD JUST REACHED THE BOTTOM OF A FREEWAY OFF-RAMP, AT A STOPLIGHT. LIGHT TURNED GREEN, HAD JUST STARTED TO GO AND THE "FAIL SAFE ENGINE MODE" LIGHT ON MY 2006 FORD EXPEDITION CAME ON THE DASHBOARD, WITHIN 5 SECONDS THE CAR TURNED OFF ON ITS OWN, LIKE TAKING THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION. HAD IT TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP, THEY RAN DIAGNOSTICS, SAID THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY NEEDED REPLACING. I LOOKED ON THE INTERNET, GOOGLING "FAIL SAFE ENGINE MODE" AND "FORD" AND FOUND THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM. ASKED WHY IT'S NOT A RECALL ITEM OR HAS A TECHNICAL BULLETIN WITH SO MANY CASES OF IT, PLUS IT'S VERY DANGEROUS. MANY IN THEIR INTERNET POSTINGS SAID THE PROBLEM COMES BACK. DEALERSHIP SAID TO CONTACT FORD CORPORATE, OPENED A CUDL CASE FOR ME TO REQUEST REIMBURSEMENT. WROTE A LETTER TO FORD CORPORATE, INCLUDED INTERNET LINKS TO ALL THE POSTINGS OF OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, ASKED FOR $480.35 REIMBURSEMENT, ALSO ASKED WHAT THEY ARE DOING ABOUT THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION WITH THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY. FORD CORPORATE SEND ME A LETTER BACK, SIMPLY SAID I'M PAST WARRANTY AND UNABLE TO PROVIDE REIMBURSEMENT. THEY DID NOT REPLY REGARDING MY QUESTION ABOUT WHAT'S BEING DONE ABOUT THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKES IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE, IT ACCELERATED. RECENTLY, THE CONTACT BEGAN TO DRIVE IN REVERSE OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE POLICE WERE NOTIFIED BUT A REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY A DEALER NOR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 49,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 69,000. *TR
TIRE RIM FAILURE ON A 2006 FORD EXPEDITION USED BY A U.S. FOREST SERVICE LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER. THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 88,607 MILES. AFTER REPORT 10307412, WE COMPLETED A FLEET WIDE INSPECTION OF FORD VEHICLES WITH STEEL WHEELS. THIS IS THE 4TH INCIDENT OF THIS NATURE TO OCCUR WITHIN 2 YEARS. THE OTHER 3 TIMES THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON OTHER FORD EXPEDITIONS. REPORTS WERE FILED HERE. SEE COMPLAINT 10286279, 10307412. BASED ON PRIOR 3 FAILURES, A UNIT-08 FOREST WIDE INSPECTION OF FORD VEHICLES WITH STEEL WHEELS IS UNDERWAY. I CURRENTLY HAVE TWO RIMS WITH TYPICAL RIM FAILURE AT THE BEAD FACE WELD FROM TWO DIFFERENT VEHICLES. PLEASE ADVISE IF PHOTO DOCUMENTATION IS REQUIRED. AFTER INSPECTION BY FORD TECHNICIAN, ALL 4 WHEELS WERE REPLACED. RECOMMEND FORD INITIATE A RECALL ON STEEL WHEEL FOR CRACK INSPECTION ASSOCIATED WITH 2003 AND NEWER FORD VEHICLES WITH STEEL WHEELS. *TR
SPARKS PLUGS BLEW OUT RIGHT AT 60,000 MILES ON 2006 FORD EXPEDITION ON OUR WAY FROM MARYLAND TO LOUISIANA. STARTED GETTING PROBLEMS IN NORTH CAROLINA. AFTER SPENDING 2000.00 FOR HOTEL, RENTAL CAR AND POSSIBLE FIX BY FIRESTONE..IT STILL WAS NOT WORKING. BROUGHT TO FORD DEALERSHIP AND SAID IT WAS SPARK PLUGS THAT BLEW AND A COMMON THING FOR F150S AND IT WOULD COST OVER 7,000.00 TO FIX IT AND RECOMMENDED TRADING IT IN. SO WE DID CAUSE WE HAD NO CHOICE WITH THE TRUCK BEING IN NC. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD EXPEDITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAIL SAFE MODE WAS ACTIVATED AND MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OR TURN IN ANY DIRECTION. IF THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE WOULD FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE MALFUNCTIONED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS PULLING OFF FROM A STOP. THE VEHICLE HAD 38,000 AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 38,500 CURRENT MILES.

THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 71,000 MILES, THIS IS THE 3RD INCIDENT OF THIS NATURE TO OCCUR WITH 2 YEARS. THE OTHER 2 TIMES THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON ANOTHER FORD EXPEDITION. UNKNOWN IF REPORTS WERE FILED HERE. SEE COMPLAINT 10286279. BASED ON PRIOR 2 FAILURES, A REGION WIDE INSPECTION OF FORD VEHICLES WITH STEEL WHEELS IS UNDERWAY. IF A PHOTO IS NEEDED, I HAVE THAT AS WELL
ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE RUNNING. LAST TIME ON THE FREEWAY. MY MECHANIC SAYS THE SYSTEMS READS OK ON COMPUTER DIAGNOSTIC, BUT THE FAIL-SAFE SYSTEM DEFINITELY SHUT THE ENGINE DOWN DUE TO A POSSIBLE GLITCH IN THE SYSTEM. DEALERS "SEE" GOOD READINGS FOR THROTTLE SYSTEM AND WILL NOT REPLACE A "GOOD" PART. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, CAR HAS NO POWER WITH NO WARNING. IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE AND WE DON'T KNOW WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. *TR
ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS (BOTH AROUND 40,000 MILES), THE CAR JUST SHUT ITSELF OFF, WITHOUT WARNING, WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT ABOUT 40 MPH. POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKING BOTH FAILED. I WAS JUST ABLE TO COAST ACROSS SEVERAL BUSY LANES OF TRAFFIC TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THIS COULD BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, PARTICULARLY IF I WAS ON A FREEWAY OR INTERSTATE. THE DEALER'S DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT THE THROTTLE HAD GOTTEN STUCK WIDE OPEN, AND THAT THE CAR HAD TO GO INTO FAILSAFE MODE TO PREVENT IT FROM ACCELERATING OUT OF CONTROL. WHAT IF THE FAILSAFE MODE FAILS? I'VE READ NUMEROUS OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME THING HAPPENING ON OTHER 2006 FORD EXPEDITIONS. THERE IS CLEARLY A DEFECTIVE PART HERE, AND IT IS CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD EXPEDITION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH ALL OF THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR LIGHTS BEGAN TO DIM. THE RADIO SHUT OFF AND THE VEHICLE THEN STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED HOME WHERE SHE REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR. APPROXIMATELY 5 MONTHS LATER THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE STARTER WAS REPLACED. APPROXIMATELY 1 MONTH LATER THE FAILURE BEGAN TO INTERMITTENTLY RECUR. DURING ONE OF THE FAILURES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALSO BEGAN TO ILLUMINATE ON THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE THROTTLE BODY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 87,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I HAVE A 2006 FORD EXPEDITION WITH APPROX. 42,000 MILES. THE INCIDENT THAT OCCURRED WITH THIS VEHICLE, WHICH IS DANGEROUS, IS WHEN THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE FAILSAFE MODE ENGAGES. I WAS ACCELERATING FROM A STOP ON A TWO LANE ROAD WHEN THE ENGINE FAILSAFE MODE ENGAGED. WHEN THIS OCCURRED, I LOST THROTTLE CONTROL, ALMOST CAUSING ANOTHER VEHICLE TO STRIKE THE REAR OF MY VEHICLE. THE SECOND INCIDENT WAS ON DEC. 28, 2009. I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN ONTO A SIDESTREET WHEN THE ENGINE FAILSAFE MODE OCCURRED AGAIN CAUSING ME TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE ACCELERATOR. I WAS ALMOST HIT BROADSIDE WHEN THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED. THE ONLY WAY TO REGAIN THROTTLE CONTROL IS TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. BY TURNING OFF THE VEHICLE IT ALSO RESETS THE ENGINE FAILSAFE MODE. UPON CHECKING THE ENGINE FAILSAFE MODE ON THE INTERNET, IT APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM. SOMEONE SHOULD MAKE FORD FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUS INJURED OR KILLED. *TR

THREE SEPARATE TIMES THE CAR SHUT OFF IN DIFFERENT TYPES OF "ENGINE FAILSAFE MODE" WITHIN THE PAST 7WEEKS. ENGINE FAILSAFE MODE CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO LOSE ALL POWER. LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH WITH TWO SMALL CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE. OTHER TWO TIMES IT OCCURRED WHEN SLOWING DOWN TO TURN. THERE IS GREAT POTENTIAL FOR THIS TO LEAD TO A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. OWNER'S MANUAL POINTS TO CRUISE CONTROL OR THROTTLE SYSTEM STUCK ALTHOUGH THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS NOT IN USE. EACH TIME VEHICLE RESTARTED WITH NO ISSUES. DEALER REPORTED IT WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE THROTTLE BODY AND POSSIBLY THE THROTTLE GETTING STUCK WIDE OPEN . NO EXPLANATION OR INVESTIGATION WAS DONE TO DETERMINE SPECIFIC ISSUES WITH THE THROTTLE BODY, EXCEPT IT JUST NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. REPAIR AT THIS PARTICULAR DEALER RUNS $800. NO DIAGNOSTICS WERE DONE ON THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR. ALTHOUGH COMPLETELY UNRELATED, THE DEALER OFFERED HALF OFF THE $600 60K TUNE-UP IF I REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY. RESEARCH INDICATES THIS HAS HAPPENED TO A LOT OF 05/06 EXPEDITION VEHICLES WITH APPROX. 50-65K MILES, SIMILAR TO MY VEHICLE. I HAVE YET TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE, PART IS STILL ON IT. *TR
THIS COMPLAINT IS IN REFERENCE TO OUR 2006 FORD EXPEDITION. THIS FAILURE AT THIS TIME SEEMS TO BE OCCURRING DURING NORMAL VEHICLE OPERATION, AT RANDOM INTERVALS. THE FAILURE IS BEING REPORTED BY THE OBD TO BE "THROTTLE BODY STUCK WIDE OPEN" WHICH RESULTS IN THE VEHICLE ENTERING FAILSAFE MODE, WHICH APPEARS TO RESTRICT THE RPM'S OF THE ENGINE. UPON ENTERING FAILSAFE MODE THE VEHICLE TENDS TO STALL AND SUBSEQUENTLY WILL NOT START FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME FOLLOWING THE FAILURE. THIS FAILURE OCCURS WEEKLY AT VARIOUS TIMES OF THE DAY. AT THIS TIME THE CONCERN IS THAT IF THERE IS ANY FAILURE ON THE PART OF THE "FAILSAFE" MODE, THE VEHICLE WILL BE UNRESPONSIVE TO THE OPERATORS THROTTLE CONTROL AND IF THE THROTTLE BODY IS IN FACT STUCK WIDE OPEN THE VEHICLE WILL PROCEED TO INCREASE SPEED WITHOUT REGARD TO THE OPERATORS CONTROLS, RENDERING THE VEHICLE OUT OF CONTROL. JUST COMING OUT OF A SMALL RIGHT TURN THE TIRE MUST HAVE LOST AIR JERKED THE STEERING CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO ROLL OVER END OVER END CARTWHEELING AND LANDING IN 4 SPOTS ACCORDING TO TIRE MARKS ON THE ROAD ITSELF EACH DOUBLE LINED MARK WAS ON THE CENTER LINE OF THE ROAD ABOUT 70-80 FEET APART BEFORE HITTING THE POLE AND BOUNCING THE VEHICLE INTO THE OPPOSITE LANE FACING THE OTHER DIRECTION. WHERE UPON AIDE OF OTHERS IT COULD NOT BE RESTARTED AND THE DRIVERS SIDE TIRE WAS COMPLETELY UNUSABLE. THE SMELL BECAME STRONGER AND THEN TURNED INTO A GASEOUS ODOR, WHICH WAS ALSO ENTERING THROUGH THE INTERIOR VENTS. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE, BUT COULD NOT LOCATE ANY GAS LEAK. THE ODOR BECAME SO OVERPOWERING THAT ONE OF THE OCCUPANTS HAD A NOSE BLEED AND SEVERAL OTHER OCCUPANTS SUFFERED HEADACHES AND STOMACH ACHES. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE OIL LEVEL WAS TOO HIGH AND CAUSED THE FUEL ODOR. THE ODOR IS STILL PRESENT. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE LESS THAN 66,000.
