EXPERIENCED MALFUNCTIONING OF DRIVER'S/PASSENGER'S SHOULDER/LAP BELTS, WHEN STOPS SHORT AND WON'T FULLY EXTEND ENOUGH TO GO AROUND AND BUCKLE. *AK
RESISTOR FAILED IN HEATER WHICH CAUGHT FIRE FROM LEAVES, LEAVES FALL UNDER THE HOOD AND ONTO THE HEATING SYSTEM AND CATCH FIRE.

WHILE DRIVING THROUGH PARKING LOT AT APPROX. 3MPH, SPARE TIRE CABLE WHICH SUSPENDS TIRE FROM UNDERNEATH REAR END BROKE DUE TO CORROSION, CAUSING TIRE TO FALL OFF VEHICLE. *AK

OIL LEAKES ON VEHICLE. MANUFACTURER SAID THAT FORD HAS BEEN HAVING THIS SORT OF PROBLEM ON OTHER FORD CARS. THE FORD DEALER ADVISED THE OWNER TO PUT A PAN UNDER THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE MILEAGE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE OIL LEAK 3 TIMES. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH THE GLASS IN THE SUN ROOF DISENGAGED FROM THE FRAME ALONG WITH THE METAL BRACKETS THAT HOLD THE GLASS IN THE FRAME, CAUSE IS UNKNOWN. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
AT APPROXIMATELY 55 TO 65 MPH EXPERIENCES EXECESSIVE VIBRATION. PLEASE DESCIBE DETAILS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE SUN ROOF WAS NOT OPENED AND FLEW OFF THE VEHICLE. *AK
THE PAINT ON THE ROOF OF VEHICLE BEGAN FADING THREE YEARS AFTER PURCHASE.
THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS STUCK IN THE DOWN POSITION AT THE TIME OF ACCIDENT.
THE GAS ASSIST CYLINDERS FAILED. RECALL REPAIRS REFUSED DUE TO VEHICLE EXCEEDING MILEAGE LIMITATIONS.

FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT BECAME STUCK IN THE LOCKED POSITION. THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK

AFTER ABOUT 50.000 MILES THE FRONT END SUSPENSION WORE OUT CAUSING THE ALIGNMENT TO BE OUT OF PLACE. DEALER ALIGNED VEHICLE, AND PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. *AK
EXCESSIVE VIBRATION AT HIGHWAYS SPEEDS IS CAUSED BY ALIGNMENT OF WHEELS.
BRAKE CALIPERS STICK CAUSING DAMAGE TO ROTORS AND PADS.
SLOWING DOWN , COSNUMER TAPPED BRAKES AND ABS LOCKED UP, CAUSING VEHICLE TO SPIN, AND RESULTING IN LOSS OF CONTROL. *AK
THE SPARE TIRE SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE DUE TO CABLE HOLDING THE TIRE BROKE OFF. OWNER DOES NOT KNOW WHERE THE TIRE FELL OFF AT. OWNER NO LONGER HAS TIRE. *AK
SEVERE VIBRATION PROBLEM BETWEEN 55 AND 65 MPH. I HAVE OWNED TWO 1992 EXPLORERS AND BOTH HAVE THIS PROBLEM. DEALER AND TIRE MANUFACTURERS DENY KNOWLEDGE OF ANY SUCH PROBLEM. I SEE THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS IN YOUR DATA BASE THAT IDENTIFY THE SAME PROBLEM. LOCAL FORD DEALER HAS SAID THERE IS NO SERVICE BULLETIN ON THIS PROBLEM, HOWEVER, I SEE YOUR DATA BASE LISTS SB033695 AS A LIKELY BULLETIN THAT ADDRESSES THIS ISSUE. HOW CAN I GET A COPY OF THE BULLETIN IF FORD DENIES IT EXISTS? THIS VIBRATION PROBLEM SHOWED UP AT JUST OVER 65,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND I HAVE DONE SEVERAL WHEEL BALANCING EFFORTS, BEARING AND ROTOR REPLACEMENTS TO CORRECT. ADDITIONALLY, I SUSPECT THE VIBRATION PROBLEM COULD BE RELATED TO SERVICE BULLETIN SB037583 WHICH DESCRIBES "VEHICLE OPERATION THAT GENERATES HIGH EXHAUST MAY CAUSE THE RADIUS ARM INSULATOR TO DETERIORATE--I HAVE OBSERVED SUCH DETERIORATION ON MY VEHICLE AND MAY BE THE SOURCE OF REDUCED STIFFNESS OR DAMPING THAT CONTRIBUTES TO WHEEL CRITICAL SPEED VIBRATION RESPONSE. PLEASE PROVIDE INFORMATION ON HOW TO GET A COPY OF THIS SERVICE BULLETIN TOO. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. I LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR RESPONSE.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND APPLYING THE BRAKES THE VEHICLE S BACK WHEELS LOCKED UP. OWNER HAD TO HAVE CAR TOWED IN ORDER TO GET IT OFF THE FREEWAY. DEALER HAS VEHICLE NOW. *AK

ALL FOUR DOOR HANDLES CRACKED DUE TO DEFECTIVE PLASTIC USED IN MANUFACTURING. YH
FRAME BRACKET HAS CRACKED AT WHERE RADUIS ARM AND BRACKET MEET ON TWO OCCASIONS, CAUSING SAFETY HAZARD. DEALER CANNOT DETERMINE CAUSE. *AK
CONSUMER HAS EXPERIENCED TWO BLOWOUTS IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS WITH THESE FIRESTONE TIRES. MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK
WOULD SHIFT VEHICLE INTO REVERSE & APPLIED GAS, AND IT WOULD TAKE TOO LONG TO KICK INTO REVERSE. ALSO, BRAKES WOULD MAKE A CLUNKING NOISE WHEN THIS HAPPENED. *AK
WHILE AT A STOP IN A DRIVEWAY WAITING TO ENTER TRAFFIC THE CAR SUDDENLY LURCHED FORWARD. AT FIRST I THOUGHT THAT THROUGH SOME LACK OF ATTENTION THAT I HAD SOMEHOW STEPPED ON THE GAS. MAKING SURE TO FIRMLY PUT MY FOOR ON THE BRAKE, IT HAPPENED AGAIN 30 SECONDS LATER. AT THAT TIME I NOTICED THAT THE TACHOMETER WENT UP TO 1500 RPM. THIS HAPPENED ONE MORE TIME IN THE NEXT HALF HOUR. I PARKED THE CAR AND LATER WHEN I TRIED TO START THE CAR TO CHECK FOR A PROBLEM THE ENGINE FAILED TO CRANK OVER. I FOUND THAT THE + CONNECTOR ON THE WIRE TO THE BATTERY HAD CRACKED MAKING A LOOSE CONNECTION. I AM AN ENGINEER WHO DESIGNS MICROPROCESSOR CONTROL SYSTEMS AND BELIEVE THIS IS A SOFTWARE PROBLEM. IT IS MY OPINION THAT THIS INTERMITENT CONNECTION BRAKE TO THE BATTERY (SPIKE OR LOSS OF VOLTAGE) CAUSED THE COMPUTER TO RESET AND OPEN THE IDLE ADJUST CONTROL VALVE MOMENTARILY AS IF THE ENGINE WAS FIRST BEING STARTED. I BELIEVE THIS PROBLEM COULD EASILY BE REPEATED IN A TEST AND I WOULD HAVE DONE IT IF THERE WASN'T A GOOD CHANCE THAT I COULD HAVE ZAPPED MY COMPUTER AT MY EXPENSE. I THINK THIS IS SERIOUS BECAUSE IF SOMEONE WOULD HAVE BEEN WALKING ON THE SIDEWALK OR BEEN BEHIND A CAR AT AN INTERSECTION I WOULD HAVE HIT THEM. THERE SHOULD BE A CHECK IN THE PROGRAM THAT PREVENTS THE VALVE FROM OPENING MAX IF THE ENGINE IS RUNNING.*AK
