ACCELERATOR PEDAL STICKS.
1995 FORD EXPLORER. CONSUMER STATES SEAT BACK FAILURE IN REAR -END COLLISION *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE SITTING AT A RED LIGHT, HE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE TRAVELING AT ABOUT 30 MPH. UPON IMPACT HIS VEHICLE WAS PROPELLED INTO THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HIM. THE CONSUMER STATED HE WAS THROWN BACKWARD, AFTER THE IMPACT, THE CONSUMER REALIZED HE WAS OUT OF HIS SEAT BELT, LYING ACROSS THE SECOND SEAT. THE FRONT SEAT WAS AT A 45 DEGREE ANGLE AND HAD BROKEN BRACKETS ON BOTH SIDES. THE CONSUMER SUSTAINED A SERIOUS BACK INJURY. *JB
TRUCK WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY AND CAUGHT ON FIRE. PLEASE DESCRIBE . *AK
SWAY BAR BROKE ON PASSENGER SIDE, ALSO STABILIZER BROKE, CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING. *AK
REPLACED 2ND TRANSMISSION IN OCTOBER 1998, AND 3RD IN FEBRUARY 2001. CONSUMER FELT TRANSMISSIONS WERE DEFECTIVE. *AK
WIRING UNDER DASH SHORTED, CAUSING FIRE. *DH
FRONTAL COLLISION, IMPACT 12:00, SPEED 30MPH, LOSS CONTROL OF VEHICLE, HITTING A TREE, DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK
REARVIEW MIRROR IS LOCATED TOO LOW, CAUSING A BLIND SPOT LOCATED IN DRIVER'S DIRECT LINE OF SIGHT, ALSO BUMPER RUSTED. *AK
I IDENTIFIED THE DEFECTIVE TIRES BEFORE THEY FAILED. 95% OF EACH TIRE WAS LIKE NEW, BUT THE INSIDE TREAD WAS WARN DOWN TO THE STEEL BELTS. I CONTACTED FORD, BUT THEY SAID THE ONLY THING THEY WOULD DO WAS LOOK AT IT. I ALREADY KNEW THERE WAS A PROBLEM AND DECLINED THEIR OFFER TO "LOOK AT IT!" AFTER GOING THROUGH THREE SETS OF FRONT TIRES IN 75,000 MILES, I CONVINCED MY FRONT END ALIGHMENT MECHANIC TO SET THE ANGLE OF THE ALIGNMENT SO THAT THE TOPS OF THE TIRES WERE OUT 1/4 INCH. THIS SEEMS TO HAVE STOPPED THE PROBLEM. I BELEIVE THAT THIS WAS A DESIGN DEFECT THAT WAS COMPOUNDED BY A FLAWED ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATION. I'M SURE THAT I WOULD HAVE EXPERIENCED A BLOWOUT, IF I HAD NOT PERFORMED MY OWN OIL CHANGES AND KEPT SUCH A CLOSE EYE ON THE TIRE WEAR.( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: P22570R15 )
ABS, BRAKE FAILURE WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED PEDAL WAS VERY HARD, VEHICLE WAS IMPACT 3:00 POSITION SWIRLED OUT OF CONTROL AND IMPACTED AGAIN, SPEED 20 MPH. *AK
BRAKE WAS VERY HARD, UNABLE TO BRAKE AT ALL. *AK
TRAVELING DOWN AN INCLINE VEHICLE EXHIBITS TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE. NO RESPONSE FROM ANTI-LOCK BRAKES. *AK
BRAKE PEDALS STICKS INTERMITTENTLY.
THE MASTER CYLINDER FAILED BRAKE GO TO THE FLOOR . *AK
PRIOR TO RECALL 00T-005 AND 00V-402 THE VEHILCE EXPERIENCED SUDDEN LOSS OF CONTROL, THE CONSUMER BELIEVES THE SWAY BAR LINKS MALFUNCTIONED CAUSING THE LOSS OF CONTROL AND THAT THE TIRE ALSO BLEWOUT DURING THIS ACCIDENT, THE CONSUMER SUFFERED A BUSTED AND SWOLLEN LIP AND BODY ACHES (FIRESTONE). NLM
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE AT SPEED OF 55 MPH, ACCELERATOR PEDAL STUCK WHILE PASSING. TT
FAILURE OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM CAUSED CONSUMER TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT, DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. TT
DRIVE TRAIN BELT FAILURE. *SD
WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN 4-WHEEL DRIVE LOW IT MAKES A POPPING NOISE, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU THE TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. *AK
THE STEERING WENT OUT CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. PLEASE DESCRIBE. TT
CONSUMER WAS DRIVING AT 55 MPH IN LEFT LANE,AND THERE WAS A RATTLING NOISE. CONSUMER WAS FORCED INTO GUARDRAIL. HAD NO STEERING. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND THEY SAID IT WAS SWAY BAR. *AK
TIE RODS FAILED.
PARKING LIGHT BULB FAILURE. *AK
ALUMINUM WHEELS CAUSE TIRES TO GO FLAT. *DSH
ABS: WHEN COMING TO STOP WITH FOOT ON BRAKES, BUT NOT PRESSING DOWN COMPLETELY OR WHEN HIT BUMP, BRAKES ENGAGE PREMATURELY, GRAB/HOLD VEHICLE/JERK. *AK
RADIATOR LEAKS.
VEHICLE WENT INTO OPEN THROTTLE POSITION, TO STOP VEHICLE APPLIED BRAKES STEERING DIRECTION OF SKID TO STOP THE VEHICLE. TT
LIFTGATE GAS ASSIST BRACKET BROKE PRIOR TO RECALL/RECALL REFUSED DUE TO UNAVAILABILITY OF PARTS. *SD
FAILURE ON THE REAR PASSENGER'S AND DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE, THE DOOR HANDLE IS BROKEN FROM THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. *AK
HAD A FRONTAL COLLISION, DRIVERS AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. TT *JB
TURN ON THE CRUISER CONTROL COULDN'T GET IT OFF THE THROTTLE WAS STUCK . TT CONSUMER STATED THE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM WOULD NOT TURN OFF WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES AND MANUALLY PULLING THE CRUISE CONTROL BUTTON OFF, CONSUMER HAD TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE AND COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, CONSUMER STATED THE ACCELERATOR THROTLE WAS STUCK.*JB
AT 5,000 MILES A POPPING SOUND IS COMING FROM STEERING COLUMN. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED, AND REPLACED STEERING COLUMN ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. BUT, PROBLEM IS STILL REOCCURRING. *AK CLIP FOR UPPER BEARING WAS OUT, DEALER REPLACED AND ALSO RETORQUED BOLTS FOR LOWER SHAFT BEARINGS, UPPER AND LOWER STEERING SHAFTS WERE REPLACED, LOWER WAS REPLACED TWICE , CONSUMER STATES THERE IS STILL PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING. POPPING NOISE IN RIGHT FRONT SEAT. RADIO INOPERABLE, DEALER REPLACED, RADIO FAILED AGAIN, DEALER REPLACED AND REPOSITIONED WIRING. CONSOLE ASSEMBLY REPLACED. *SLC
LOW SPED IMPACT TO LEFT REAR CAUSED ROLLOVER. NE-AND ONE-HALF ROTATIONS, COMING TO REST ON ITS ROOF. PASSENGER'S SIDE WINDOW SHATTERED, CAUSING PARTIAL EJECTION OF 11-YEAR -OLD PASSENGER, CRUSHING HIS SKULL AND KILLING CHILD. TWO OTHER PASSENGERS WERE INJURED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING, GAS PEDAL COMPLETELY COLLAPSED; FACTORY WELD CAME OFF; LOST ALL VEHICLE POWER; MANAGED TO DRIFT TO SIDE OF ROAD; SPEED 45 MPH. TT *SLC
ANTI-LOCK BRAKE FAILURE. *AK
HORN PADS REPLACED DUE TO FAILURE.
DRIVER'S SEAT BELT FAILS TO COOMPLETLY RETRACT. *AW

DRIVER'S SEAT FRAME BROKE, CAUSING DRIVER TO SLIDE IN THE SEAT WHEN MAKING TURNS. *SD
ONGOING PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE VIBRATING WHILE TRAVELING AT 45 MPH ON UP. FIRESTONE REPLACED TIRES, AND THE DEALER REPLACED THREE OF THE WHEELS, AND BALANCED THE TIRES. HOWEVER, PROBLEM IS REOCCURRING. *AK
REAR SEAT BELTS DIFFICULT TO UNBUCKLE DUE TO THE ANCHORS BEING TOO CLOSE TOGETHER WITH THE RELEASE BUTTONS FACING. *DSH
FIRESTONE RADIAL ATX TIRES (P235/75R15) EXPERIENCED A BLOWOUT AND VIBRATION, CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE 00T005 AND REPLACED ALL TIRES AND IS REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT. *SLC
FRONT END SHAKES AND MAKES NOISES, DIFFICULT TO CONTROL, AND CAUSES UNEVEN WEAR TO FRONT TIRES DUE TO MISALIGNED FRONT END. *DH
VEHICLE WAS AT COMPLETE STOP, IMPACT 6:00 POSITION, LAP/SHOULDER DID NOT RETRACT. TT
AXLE BEARING ASSEMBLY FAILURE. *AK
ABS LIGHT CAME ON INTERMITTENTLY DUE TO ROAD PLASTIC IN THE SYSTEM, LATER EXPERIENCED TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE AND NO WARNING LIGHT. *AK
SPARE TIRE TOO SMALL.
SINCE LEASING THE VEHICLE, HAVE HAD PERSISTENT PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT END, WHICH RESULTED IN WEARING OUT SEVERAL SETS OF EXPENSIVE TIRES. REPORTED SAME TO SELLER ( R. BROWN & SONS, INC. ) BUT NO RESOLUTION. INVOLVED IN A CRASH IN AUGUST, 1998, FRONT END IMPACT CAUSING $2500 IN DAMAGES, BUCKLED HOOD, SHATTERED BUMPER BRACKETS, ETC. BUT NEITHER AIR BAG DEPLOYED. TOOK VEHICLE TO A DIFFERENT GARAGE BECAUSE FRONT TIRES AGAIN SERIOUSLY WORN. MECHANIC DISCOVERED RIGHT FRONT STABILIZER MISSING -- AND NO INDICATION THAT IT HAD EVER BEEN PRESENT. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN A FRONT END COLLISION PRIOR TO OUR LEASING IT, A FACT THE SELLER DID NOT DIVULGE AT THE TIME. THE SALESMAN INVOLVED WAS TERMINATED FROM EMPLOYMENT AT BROWN'S SHORTLY AFTER WE LEASED THE VEHICLE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND CONSIDERATION. *AK
RIGHT REAR TIRE BLOW OUT CAUSING THE FORD TO FLIP SEVERAL TIMES. I RECEIVED MAJOR INJURIES. I DO NOT RECALL ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THE ACCIDENT, EXCEPT WHAT WAS TOLD TO ME. *AK( DOT NUMBER: UNCU 1PL 0 TIRE SIZE: P255/70R16 )
