WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE AT A LOW SPEED AT 30 MPH OWNER HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT WAS PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE, BOTH AIRBAGS DEPLOYED BUT DRIVER SUSTAUNED INJURIES. *AK
FUEL PUMP FAILED.
OWNER STATES THAT WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE IT STALLS DUE TO POWER TRAIN. OWNER ALSO NOTES THAT VEHICLE HAS PROBLEMS WITH CHANGING LANES AND POWER TRAIN DOES NOT PROVIDE ENOUGH POWER TO CHANGE LANES. OWNER HAD PROBLEM CORRECTED. *AK
TIRE LABEL STATES 26 PSI WHICH IS INCORRECT, RECOMMENDED PSI IS 35. THIS ERROR RESULTED IN TIRES BEING UNDER INFLATED, CAUSING TIRES TO CUP.
VEHICLE'S INSIDE REAR DOOR HANDLES HAVE BROKEN 5 TIMES DUETO A PLASTIC INTERNAL PART WHICH IS BREAKING. CANNOT OPEN THE DOOR WHEN THIS OCCURS. *AK
INTERMITTENT STALLING.
UPON CLOSING THE GATE, BRACKET PULLED AWAY FROM THE DOOR AND DOES NOT ALLOW THE LIFT GATE TO REMAIN IN THE OPEN POSITION.
SUSPENSION STABILIZER LINKS BROKE.
COMPUTER SYSTEM INDICATED A MECHANICAL PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION, SHIFT INTO A LOWER GEAR WHICH SIGNIFICANTLY LIMITED THE SPEED OF THE CAR, REPLACE SOME TRANSMISSION PARTS, AND RESET COMPUTER, EVENT OCCURRED THREE TIMES, REPLACE TRANSMISSION, TO NO AVAIL.
SPEEDOMETER LIGHT DOES NOT WORK ON THE 30 TO 40 MPH RANGE.
RELEASE BUTTON ON THE TWO REAR SEAT BELT BUCKLES JAM BETWEEN THE FOLD DOWN SEAT BACK, AND THE OCCUPIE SEAT.
TRANSMISSION FAILURE.
DEFECT IN THE WINDSHIELD CAUSING A LINE IN THE VISION, REPLACING WINDSHIELD AND WIPER ARM.
OVERDRIVE LIGHT STARTS FLASHING AND VEHICLE SHIFTS VERY HARD. DEALER WILL NOT FIX IT BECAUSE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED.
THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AT ABOUT 43,000 MILES. DEALER IS REPLACING TRANSMISSION. *AK
CRUISE COTNROL FAILED.
WHILE DRIVING ON INTERBOROUGH PARKWAYIN QUEENS, NY AND GOING AROUND A TURN TO THE RIGHT, REAR END FISHTAILED TO THE LEFT. FELT AS IF VEHICLE LOST CONTROL.
WHILE DRIVING THE PINS THAT HOLD THE FRONT STABILIZER BAR BROKE, CAUSING POOR MANEUVERABILITY OF THE VEHICLE. PLEASE PROVIDE DETAILS. *AK
THE REAR HATCHBACK HYDRAULIC CYLINDER HAS COMPLETELY DETACHED FROM THE FRAME OF THE VEHICLE. PLEASE PROVIDE DETAILS. *AK
VEHICLE EXPERIENCES INTERMITTENT SUDDEN ACCELERATION.
HYDRAULIC CYLINDERS THAT HOLD THE HATCHBACK LID ON THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE BROKE, CAUSING THE DOOR TO COLLAPSE ON THE OWNER. DLR SAID VEHICLE NEEDED TO GO TO A BODYSHOP. *AK
DRIVER SEAT AND SHOULDER BELT WOULD NOT RELEASE FROM THE LOCKING MECHANISM, TRAPPING THE OCCUPANT IN THE VEHICLE, CAUSING THE DRIVER TO CUT THE SEAT BELT. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
TRANSFER CASE MALFUNCTIONED ,CAUSING THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM NOT TO ACTIVATE CAUSE UNKNOWN. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK

THE REAR INSIDE HANDLES HAVE BROKEN. OCCUPANTS IN THE REAR CAN'T EXIT FROM INSIDE. THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
LOCKING MECHANISM BOKE OFF INSIDE OF DOOR, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR OCCUPANTS TO GET OUT OF VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY WITH BOTH DOORS. *AK
TRANSMISSION SHIFTS WHENEVER IT WANTS:65MPH WITH CRUISE ON OR ANY OTHER TIME JUST DRIVING AROUND TOWN. *AK
VEHICLE PULLS TO THE RIGHT. ALSO, RUBBER BUSHING IS LOCATED CLOSE TO THE EXHAUST SYSTEM WITHOUT A HEAT SHIELD, CAUSING IT TO DEFORM AND FAIL. *AK
POSSIBLE DESIGN FLAW CAUSED ENGINE TO FAIL, RESULTING IN FIRE. *YC
NO SUMMARY
THIS IS MY 3RD TRANSMISSION. MY 1994 EXPLORER HAD AN IREPREPAIRABLE TRANSMISSION, SO I HAD TO UPGRADE AT MY COST TO THE 1995. IN MY 1995 I AM NOW FACED WITH REPLACING MY 2ND TRANSMISSION. SO FAR I HAVE BEEN TOLD THE FORD FACTORY REP DOES NOT TALK TO THE PUBLIC. FOR EACH INCIDENT I HAVE AT LEAST 2 WEEKS OF "DOWN TIME" WHILE WAITING TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE TRANSMISSION TECH AT TOWN & COUNTRY FORD HERE IN CHARLOTTE, NC INDICATES HE SEES THIS PROBLEM OFTEN WITH THE EXPLORERS, YET NO OFFICIAL RECOGNITION FROM FORD. I FEEL POWERLESS, AND AT THE TOTAL MERCY OF FORD. MY BMW HAD 388,000 WHEN I SOLD IT AND IT NEVER HAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN PROPERLY SERVICED, YET THE FORD WARRANTY SEEMS TO SPEAK FOR ITSELF...INADEQUATE. THIS IS APPARENTLY DUE TO AN INFERIOR, FAULTY PRODUCT. FORD NEEDS TO DO A BETTER JOB BACKING UP THEIR PRODUCTS, AND NEEDS TO DO A SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER JOB RESPONDING TO A CONSUMER WITH HABITUAL MAJOR PROBLEMS SUCH AS THIS TRANSMISSION. HOW DOES FORD EXPECT TO FOSTER REPEAT BUSINESS IF THE MESSAGE THEY CLEARLY SEND IS THE FACTORY REP IS NOT AVAILABLE TO JOHN Q PUBLIC. WHAT THE HECK IS THEIR JOB DESCRIPTION? I KNOW THE FACTORY REPS FROM THE COMPETING MFG'ERS DO FIELD QUESTIONS AND ISSUES FROM THE PUBLIC. I INTEND TO LEAVE FORD IF THIS IS THE BEST THEY CAN DO AND GO TO GMC, OR A FOREIGN MFG UNLESS I CAN GET SOME ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND RELIEF!!!
WASHER FUNCTION ONLY INTERMITTENTLY. WIPERS OFTEN STOP OR WORK AT ARBITRARY, INTERMITTENT SPEEDS. DEALER SAID THEY FIXED IT BUT IT STOPPED WORKING SHORTLY THEREAFTER. DIDN'T HAVE THE ENERGY TO ARGUE WITH THEM. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN GOING ONN SINCE ABOUT A YEAR AFTER CAR WAS PURCHASED. I SAW A NEWS ARTICLE ABOPUT THE PROBLEM AND THOUGHT I WOULD CONTRIBUTE ANOTHER REPORT. THANKS!
DRIVER WINDOW HAS FALLEN OUT OF THE DOOR PANEL, CAUSING THE WINDOW TO BECOME INOPERABLE. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
