VEHICLE DID NOT RETURN TO IDLE. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER ABOUT THE INCIDENT, AND WAS INFORMED THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. *AK
ENGINE FAILURE.
THE CONSUMER BEGAN TO HEAR NOISE IN THE FRONT END IF THE VEHICLE AT 9K MILES, THE CONSUMER HAD THE FRONT END CHECKED AND THE TIRES ROTATED, AT 22K MILES THE NOISE DEVELOPED AGAIN AND ONE TIRE BLEWOUT WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN FOR ANOTHER 10K MILES WHEN THE NOISE STARTED AGAIN AND UPON INSPECTED IT WAS NOTED THAT THE TREAD WAS SEPARATING, THE CONSUMER IS REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE TIRES (FIRESTONE P 235 AT). NLM
THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND A FIRE STARTED UNDER THE HOOD, NEAR THE ENGINE. *AK
DRIVER HEAR STRANGE RUMBLING NOISE COMING FROM VEHICLE THEN WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF STEERING. VEHICLE VEERED TO THE RIGHT AND STRUCK REAR OF A PARKED VEHICLE. THE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL HAD FALLEN OFF DUE TO A BROKEN UPPER CONTROL ARM. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.
PASSENGER'S SIDE BELT LOCKED AND WOULD NOT RELEASE PASSENGER. HAD TO CUT BELT TO GET OUT. *AK
PROBLEM STARTED AT 23115 MILES. WHILE GOING AT 25 OR 60 MPH VEHICLE WILL DROP OUT OF GEAR. THIS MAY HAPPEN WHILE TRYING TO CHANGE LANES, VEHICLE WILL JUST DROP OUT OF GEAR. CONSUMER FEELS THIS IS VERY UNSAFE, ESPECIALLY WITH CHILDREN ABOARD. ALSO, WHEN CHANGING LANES THERE IS JUST NO CONTROL. *AK
STEERING WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS. *AK
THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLE ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE HAS BROKEN TWICE WHICH DOES NOT ALLOW THE DOOR TO BE OPEN FROM THE INSIDE. THE HANDLE WAS REPLACED IN FEB OF 97, AND ON 10/7/97 FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. *AK
ACCELERATOR PEDAL BROKE OFF.
CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED, PRESSED BRAKES, VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN, RELEASED BRAKES, CRUISE CONTROL DID NOT DISENGAGE, ENGINE ACCELERATED BACK TO ORIGINAL SPEED, WET PAVEMENT, VEHICLE SPUN AROUND, CRASHED INTO CEMENT BARRIER, CRUISE CONTROL SENSOR DEFECTIVE. *AK
PRIOR TO RECALL, CONSUMER EXPERIENCED THREE TREAD SEPARATIONS AND ONE BLOW OUT, IN WHICH ONE OF THE TREAD SEPARATIONS WAS A REPLACEMENT, HOWEVER CONSUMER WAS DENIED REIMBURSEMENT DUE TO THE OCCURENCES HAPPENING BEFORE RECALL WAS ISSUED, CONSUMER WAS INFORMED BY A FIRESTONE DEALER THAT ONLY THE TIRES BEING REPLACED IN THE YEAR 2000 WOULD BE REIMBURSED. FIRESTONE TIRES ATX/P235/7R15.*JB
ENGINE AND FUEL INJECTION MALFUNCTION. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHED, ENGINE RPM'S RAISE TO 4000-5000 WITHOUT ACCELERATION, VEHICLE JERKS AS IF RECEIVING FUEL INTERMITTENTLY. VEHICLE SOMETIMES STALLS AND/OR WILL NOT START.
COMPASS INOPERATIVE.
ENGINE STALLED 3 TIMES AT HIGH ALTITUDE.
ACCIDENT CAUSED ALIGNMENT FAILURE.

BOTHE REAR DOORS DO NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE...SOMETIMES LEFT REAR DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE DUE TO CHILD SAFETY LATCH NOT WORKING PROPERLY.

THREE ORIGINAL TIRES REPLACED DUE TO FLEXING OF THIN SIDEWALLS ONTO SHARP ROCKS.
POWER STEERING PUMP FAILED.
VEHICLE PARKED IN DRIVEWAY, WENT TO UNLOCK THE DOOR TO THE HOUSE AND WENT BACK OUT TO TURN MOTOR OFF VEHICLE STARTED MOVING BACK AND DRIVER WAS UNABLE TO STOP VEHICLE. RAN OVER DRIVER'S ARM AND ANKLE AND BACKED INTO A GRAVEL PIT. *AK
WINDSHIELD WEATHER STRIPING FAILED.
SOMETIMES CAR WILL NOT STOP.
ANTILOCK BRAKES FAILED, CAUSING ACCIDENT/INJURIES.
FOG LIGHT HOUSING BROKE.
DRIVING VEHICLE IN FAST LANE, HEARD A HORRIBLE NOISE, LOOKED BACK & SAW UNIVERSAL JOINT HAD BLOWN OUT; HAD TO COAST TO SLOW LANE & SIDE OF HWY; DRIVESHAFT BROKE, HAD NO POWER; HAD VEHICLE TOWED. *AK
UNIVERSAL JOINT BROKE/DISCONNECTED.
DOME LIGHTS WOULD NOT GO OFF WHEN DOOR WAS CLOSED DUE TO WIRING FAILURE.
NO DEPLOYMENT OF AIR BAG DURING VEHICLE COLLISION.
DUAL AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY DURING FRONT END COLLISION, VEHICLE HIT ANOTHER MOVING VEHICLE HEAD-ON; SPEED 15 MPH, VEHICLE AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION. *AK
THE VEHICLE'S ABS SYSTEM LOCKED UP IN ICY CONDITIONS WHICH MADE THE VEHICLE SLIDE SIDE WAYS INTO A BUILDING. ALSO, THE POLICE REPORT SHOWS THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED AFTER SHE HIT THE BUILDING, CAUSING HER HEAD TO STRIKE THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW AND BE DECAPITATED. *AK

BUILT IN CHILD SEAT DESIGN ALLOWS CHILD'S LEG TO SLIP OUT OF SEAT/HANG BETWEEN DOOR AND SEAR, ALSO DESIGN OF SEAT BELT BUCKLE ON CHILD SEAT CAUSES DISCOMFORT/PAIN FOR CHILDREN.
ELECTRICAL SHORT, CONSUMER WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE CENTER OF THE DASHBOARD AND ABOVE THE WINDSHIELD AND THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE IN THE DASH. *AK
