WHILE DRIVING INTERIOR LIGHTS COMES ON AND OFF WITHOUT MANUAL OPERATION. PROBLEM OCCURS WITHIN ELECTRIAL SYSTEM WHICH CAUSES DOOR LOCKS TO MALFUNCTION. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
CONSUMER HAD REQUESTED REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE FIRESTONE WILDERNESS AT TIRES (P255/70R16) AND WAS DENIED BECAUSE THESE TIRES WERE NOT PART OF RECALL, HOWEVER CONSUMER STATES THAT TIRES EXPERIENCED SEVERE CRACKS AND THAT A LOCAL DEALER STATED THAT THE TIRES NEEDED REPLACED. *SLC
THIS FIRESTONE WILDERNESS/AT TIRE, P23575R15 WAS LOOKED AT BY A GARAGE WHEN TREAD SEPRATION WAS NOTICED.*AK CONSUMER STATES FIRST FAULTY TIRE RESULTED IN A BLOWOUT, 2 OTHERS WERE NOTICED AT A GARAGE WITH TREAD SEPARATION. CONSUMER STATES INSIDE PASSENGER DOOR HANDLES ON BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT DO NOT WORK. *SLC
ALL FOUR FIRESTONE WILDERNESS AT TIRES ARE CRACKED ON THE SIDEWALL WHERE THE TREAD BEGINS, THE VEHICLES TIRES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL, THE CONSUMER IS REQUESTING THAT ALL FOUR TIRES BE REPLACED WITH A DIFFERENT BRAND AT THE MANUFACTURER'S EXPENSE (FIRESTONE WILDERNESS AT P255/70R16 109 M/S, FILE NO: NSR01R0449). TIRES WERE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT ON A 1996, FORD, EXPLORER, TIRE SIZE P255/70R16, DOT NUMBER NOT AVAILABLE, TIRES HAD 80 THOUSAND MILES ON THEM. CONSUMER NOTICED THAT REAR PASSENGER AND FRONT DERIVER'S SIDE TIRES WOULD NOT STAY INFLATED. ALSO, REAR TIRE WAS SHOWING SIGNS OF TREAD SEPARATION . CONSUMER HAS REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES. LUGS: NUTS IS WEARING OFF FROM WHEEL WHICH COULD EVENTUALLY CAUSE WHEEL TO COMPLETLEY SEPARATE FROM VEHICLE. *AK *JB
INSIDE HANDLES ON LEFT AND RIGHT REAR DOORS ARE BROKEN. DOORS CANNOT BE OPENED FROM INSIDE. DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED.*AK
WHEN THE CONSUMER REPLACED THE LEFT REAR BRAKE ROTOR HE NOTICED THAT THE LINING HAD COME LOOSE FROM THE METAL OF THE REAR PARKING BRAKE SHOE AND IT WAS LESS THAN HALF WORN, ALL FOUR SHOE LININGS WERE CRAZED BUT WERE NOT BROKEN.
THE 1990 EXPLORER HAD TIRE RECALL 00T-005 RESULTING IN REPLACEMENT OF ALL FOUR TIRES, THE 1996 EXPLORER EXPERIENCED TIRE SEPARATION PRIOR TO RECALL, AND WAS REPLACED BY THE CONSUMER. THE CONSUMER BELIEVES THAT THE 1996 EXPLORER TIRES SHOULD BE REPLACED PER RECALL ALSO. THE CONSUMER IS SEEKING REIMBURSMENT FROM THE MANUFACTURER OF THE TIRES . *YH

AFTER PURCHASING VEHICLE, CONSUMER BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE A VIBRATION IN THE VEHICLE, TIRES WERE REBALANCED AND ROTATED, BUT THE VIBRATION STILL EXISTED, CONSUMER DECIDED TO REPLACE THE FIRESTONE P235/75RX15 TIRES WITH GOODYEAR TIRES AND THE VIBRATION IMMEDIATELY STOPPED, EVEN THOUGH PROBLEM OCCURRED PRIOR TO RECALL, CONSUMER IS REQUESTING SOME TYPE OF COMPENSATION FOR HIS EXPENSE AND TIME OF RESOLVING THE VIBRATION.*JB
THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF COMPLETELY WHILE THE CONSUMER WERE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, THE DEALER FOUND OUT THAT THE CRANKSHAFT HAD SPLIT IN HALF, CONSUMER WANTS THE MANUFACTURER TO PAY PART OF THE COST OF REPAIR. *YH

CONSUMER IS UNABLE TO UNLOCK TAILGATE BECAUSE RIGHT SIDE LATCH WILL STICK. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
I HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH MYH 1994 EXPLORER. WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS OVER 85 DEGREES OUTSIDE AND THE AIR CONDITIONER IS ON, WE GET AN EXTREMELY STRONG ODOR OF RAW GASOLINE INSIDE THE CAR. IT MAKES US NAUCEOUS. THIS HAPPENS ESPECIALLY WITH IN-TOWN STOP AND GO DRIVING. *AK
THE CONSUMER REQUESTED REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE DEFECTIVE SPARE TIRE, THE CONSUMER ONLY RECIEVED REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE TIRE MOUNTING, THE CONSUMER IS STILL AWAITING REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE REPLACED TIRE (FIRESTONE ATX II).
PRIOR TO RECALL THE CONSUMER FOUND A BULGE ON THE BACK LEFT TIRE AND REPLACED WITH MICHELINS, CONSUMER REQUESTED REIMBURDSEMENT FOR THE REPLACEMENT TIRES BUT WAS DENIED BECAUSE THE TIRES WERE REPLACED PRIOR TO AUG 9, 2000(FIRESTONE WILDRNESS AT TIRE P235/75R15 ).
WAS DRIVING VEHICLE AND HAD TO JAM ON BRAKES WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE CUT IN FRONT. ABS SYSTEM LOCKED UP. PRIOR TO LOCKING UP, HAD 3 SETS OF BRAKES, AND 2 SETS OF ROTORS REPLACED. THIRD TIME HEARD GRINDING NOISES ON RIGHT FRONT WHEEL. SOUNDED LIKE METAL TO METAL. DRIVER SIDE ROTORS WERE SHOT DUE TO BRAKES LOCKING UP. AT DEALERSHIP, NOTHING WAS FOUND WRONG.*AK
CONSUMER STATES THAT REAR SEAT BELT BUCKLES ARE TIGHT TOGETHER AND THAT THE RELEASE BUTTONS ARE LOCATED AT THE TOPS OF THE BUCKLES MAKING THEM VERY DIFFICULT TO UNLATCH. *JADA
BRAKES FAILED TO STOP VEHICLE AND THERE WAS EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. HAD TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP, AND WAS INFORMED BY MECHANIC THAT ROTORS NEEDED REPLACING DUE TO BEING CORRODED. DID NOT HAVE ANY EMERGENCY BRAKES.*AK *SLC
AT LOW SPEED SENSOR SENDS A WRONG SIGNAL TO ABS BRAKE SYSTEM ,RESULTING IN POOR BRAKING. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
AFTER I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE, I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK AT LEAST 6 TIMES DUE TO A VIBRATION. ON FEB.2001, THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. THIS PROBLEM STILL EXISTED, JUST NOT AS MUCH. I TOOK THE MECHANIC ON A TEST DRIVE 2 TIMES AFTER THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. UNFORTUNITELY IT DID NOT DO THE VIBRATION. JUST RECENTLY, IT STARTED GETTING WORSE. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER FORD DEALER TODAY, I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS THE TORQUE CONVERTER. AT THE TIME OF THE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT, I ASKED ABOUT THE TORQUE CONVERTER, I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS REPLACED WITH THE TRANSMISSION. OBVIOUSLY THIS WAS NOT DONE.*AK
CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL LETTER CONCERNING THE FRONT SWAYBAR LINKS, BUT HAD PROBLEMS WITH DEALERSHIP CONCERNING THE ACTUAL IMPLEMENTATION OF SERVICE, CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE AS OF YET AND TO RETURN A LATER TIME. *JG

WHILE DRIVING, VEHICLE MAKES A LOUD HUMMING SOUND WHICH COMES FROM FRONT END OF VEHICLE. ALSO, TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED. CONSUMER CONSTANTLY HAS TO TAKE VEHICLE TO DEALER. *AK THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE SPEED SENSOR AND THE O2 SENSOR WERE REPLACED. JG
WHILE REMOVING CHILD FROM CAR SEAT ON SECOND ROW OF VEHICLE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT RECLINES BACK ON TOP OF CONSUMER'S LEG . DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. HOWEVER, HAS NO REMEDY FOR SEAT. *AK
AFTER DRIVING 1-2 HOURS WITH AIR CONDITIONER ON DURING HOT WEATHER AND TURNING VEHICLE OFF, AND RETURN VEHICLE WOULD TURN OVER SOON AFTER ENGINE WOULD SHUT DOWN. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED, BUT COULD NOT FINE CAUSE OF PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK

CONSUMER IS AWARE OF OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET REGARDING THIS CONDITION. HOWEVER A MONTH HAS PASTED AND CONSUMER HAS YET TO HEAR FROM MANUFACTURE. *TT
