WHEN REDUCING SPEED FROM 60 MPH TO A STOP THE VEHICLE STALLS. *TS *NLM
NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN 00V422000; THROTTLE BODY; THIS PART WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY BY A FORD DEALERSHIP JUNE 1999. THE RECALL CAME OUT IN 2000 WHICH THE OWNER WAS DECLINED THE RECALL REPAIR BECAUSE HE HAD THE WORK DONE IN JUNE. THE TRUCK IS NOW AGAIN HAVING THE FAILURE WHICH THE MANUFACTURE AND DEALERSHIP ARE GIVING ANY ASSISTANCE. PLEASE DESCRIBE DETAILS. TS
WHILE TRAVELING 25 MPH ACCELERATOR PEDAL BROKE OFF ,CAUSING CONSUMER TO BRAKE TO STOP VEHICLE. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
THE BRAKE SENSORS WERE FAULTY, THE DRIVER SEAT BOLT HAD BROKEN AND FELL WHILE DRIVING, THE DRIVER DOOR LOCK WAS DEFECTIVE, AND THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS SYSTEM WAS INOPERATIVE. SCC *JB
THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO UNLOCK THE POWER DOOR FROM THE INSIDE AND HAD TO CRAWL OUT OF THE WINDOW, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE SOLENOID FAILED IN THE DRIVER DOOR. *SCC *NLM
THE ENGINE STALLED OFF WHILE DRIVING. *JB
THE FRONT WINDSHIELD DETACHED FROM THE ADHESIVE. THE DEALER/MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED AND REFUSED TO REPAIR BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. MR SCC *JB
CONSUMER NOTICED OIL LEAKING, TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, DEALER STATED THAT SEALS WERE DEFECTIVE. *AK

ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVING "ROUGH." DEALER DETERMINED THAT THE CAM CHAIN GUIDE BROKE, AND ENGINE HAD TO BE REPLACED. *AK
CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL#03V281000 CONCERNING FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RECLINER. PASSENGER'S SEAT RECLINER LEVER BROKE. PASSENGER'S SEAT HAD TO BE SUPPORTED BY TWO TENNIS RACKETS IN ORDER FOR THE SEAT BACK TO STAY IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION. *AK
WHEN TRYING TO OPEN DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR FROM INSIDE HANDLE HAD TO BE PULLED AT LEAST TEN TIMES BEFORE THE DOOR WOULD OPEN. CONSUMER WAS CONCERNED THAT IF THERE WAS AN EMERGENCY THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE STEERING WANDERED AND SWERVED. AT THIS TIME THE CAUSE IS UNDETERMINED. *AK
AFTER THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED FOR ABOUT TWO HOURS IT CAUGHT ON FIRE. FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED, AND THEY SAID FIRE WAS DUE TO A FUEL LEAK. *AK
THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BACK RECLINER LEVER BROKE OFF WITHOUT BEING USED. CONSUMER FEELS THAT THE RECALL DEFECTIVE COMPONENT FOR THE HIGH BACK BOLT 03 V 281 000, IS THE POSSIBLE CAUSE OF THE LEVER BREAKING BECAUSE IT'S PART OF THE SAME STRUCTURE. *PH
CONSUMER CALLED COMPLAINING ABOUT HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. EVERY TIME HE TRIED TO STEP ON THE PEDAL IT GOT STUCK TO THE FLOOR. MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, AND STATED THAT THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT RECALLED, AND DID NOT HAVE ANY WARRANTY.*AK
THE CONSUMERS WERE NEVER NOTIFIED OF THREE RECALLS THAT APPLIED TO THEIR VEHICLE UNTIL THE DEFECT OCCURRED. THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO HONOR THE RECALLS THEM BECAUSE THE CAMPAIGNS HAD ENDED. THE RECALL NUMBERS ARE: 99 V 164 000, 98 V 060 000, AND 00 V 422 000. *NLM
WHEN THE CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO UNLOCK THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR BUT IT FAILED TO OPEN FROM THE INSIDE ALTHOUGH THE DOOR LOCKS WERE IN THE UNLOCKED POSITION. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *NLM

DEALERSHIP WAS NOT HONORING THE RECALL THAT HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO THIS YEAR/ MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE. VEHICLE HAD A BROKEN SEAT. DEALERSHIP REPAIRED THE TOP BOLT ONLY. HOWEVER, THE BOTTOM BOLT NEEDED REPAIRS. HOWEVER, THE SEAT WAS STILL DEFECTIVE. *AK
BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH MALFUNCTIONED DUE TO A WIRING PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 30 MPH VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED TO 70 MPH. BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED TO DECREASE SPEED BUT ENGINE CONTINUED TO REV ALTHOUGH VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. *AK
CONSUMER UNABLE TO TAKE VEHICLE TO HAVE RECALL REPAIR PERFORMED BECAUSE CONSUMER HAS BEEN DEPLOYED TO IRAQ.*MR CONSUMER INQUIRED AS WHETHER OR NOT THE REPAIR WOULD BE FREE OF CHARGE WHEN HE RETURNS HOME FROM IRAQ. THE RECALL IS ON THE RECLINING BOLT THAT CONNECTS TO THE BACK OF THE SEAT. *PH
SEAT RECLINER MECHANISM FAILED ON 1998 FORD EXPLORER.*MR THE CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE 03V-281000, RELATED TO THE SEAT RECLINER MECHANISM BOLT, AFTER THE VEHICLE'S SEAT RECLINER MECHANISM FRACTURED. THE CONSUMER WANTED TO KNOW IF HIS VEHICLE'S FAILURE WAS COVERED BY THE SAFETY RECALL. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE NEAREST FORD DEALER TO HAVE THE SEAT INSPECTED BY A TECHNICIAN. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THE RECALL ONLY COVER THE REPLACEMENT OF THE BOLTS, THEREFORE THE FAILURE OF THE RECLINER HANDLE WOULD NOT BE COVERED. *NLM
WHILE DRIVING DRIVER HEARD A RATTLING NOISE. MECHANIC BELIEVED IT WAS THE CAM SHAFT. TOOK VEHICLE TO FORD, AND FORD STATED THE MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
1998 FORD EXPLORER FIRE.*MR THE CONSUMER ( A FIRE FIGHTER) RESPONDED TO A VEHICLE FIRE. THE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE STATED THE BRAKE LIGHT BLEW. HE CHANGED THE 15 AMP BULB AND NOTICED A PLUG ON THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS HOT AND HAD SOME SOOT ON IT AND IT WASN'T MELTED OR DEFORMED. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED HEAVY FIRE DAMAGED TO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WITH THE HEAVIEST FIRE DAMAGE NEAR THE MASTER CYLINDER. *PH
THE CONSUMER FELT THAT RECALL #03V281000 WAS NOT ADEQUATE ENOUGH TO CORRECT THE DEFECT. THE PROBLEM REMAINED. *AK *SC *JB
CONSUMER SEEKING REIMBURSEMENT FOR REPAIRS ON A BOLT THAT ATTACHED TO THE SEAT RECLINER MECHANISM. *LA THE VENTILATION SYSTEM LEAKED. *JB
CONSUMER WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT SEAT BELT PROBLEM ON DRIVER'S SIDE. WHEN BELT WAS LATCHED INTO THE BUCKLE, IT DIDN'T HOLD. *AK
PRIOR TO RECEIVING LATCH RECALL, THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED THE DEFECT AND WAS TOLD ONLY THE BOLT WOULD BE REPLACED, NOT THE LATCH. *PH *JB
DRIVERS SEAT BOLT BROKE, CAUSING THE SEAT TO RECLINE BACKWARDS. THIS OCCURRED WITHOUT ANY WARNING WHILE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN. DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE BOLT, BUT NOT THE SEAT. *AK
DEFECTIVE TIRES, HOOD LATCH, SEAT LATCH, CRUISE CONTROL, REAR WINDOW WIPER, ETC... *PH THE CONSUMER STATED THE HOOD LATCH , SEAT RECLINER, CRUISE CONTROL AND TIRES WERE ALL RECALLED. THE REAR WINDSHIELD WIPER AND PASSENGER POWER WINDOW WERE INOPERATIVE. *JB
