FORD EXPLORER LIMITED WITH 2ND ROW CAPTAIN'S CHAIRS. THERE IS A BUTTON TO PUSH THAT LOWERS THE SEATBACK. THE SEATBACK COMES FORWARD WITH AN EXCESSIVE FORCE THAT COULD POSSIBLY CAUSE INJURY, ESPECIALLY TO A CHILD. THIS MOTION SHOULD BE DAMPERED TO PROVIDE A SAFE LOWERING OF THE SEATBACK. MY ADULT DAUGHTER WAS IN THE PROCESS OF LOWERING THE SEATBACK WHEN SHE WAS STRUCK IN THE HEAD. SHE SUFFERED A HEADACHE THAT LASTED TWO DAYS. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD MOTOR COMPANY, BUT THEY HAVE IGNORED MY CONTACT. *TR
I BOUGHT A 2013 FORD EXPLORER IN MARCH OF 2012. I ALMOST IMMEDIATELY BEGAN SMELLING EXHAUST INSIDE THE CAR. THE SMELL WAS WORST WHEN I HIT THE ACCELERATOR GETTING ONTO THE HIGHWAY OR OTHER TIMES WHEN I QUICKLY INCREASED THE ACCELERATION OF THE VEHICLE. I BROUGHT MY EXPLORER INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE DEALERSHIP VERIFIED MY COMPLAINT AND PERFORMED FORD'S TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 12-12-4. THAT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I CONTINUED TO SMELL EXHAUST INSIDE THE CAR. THE DEALER ASSURED ME THERE WAS NO SAFETY CONCERN, AND THAT THERE WAS NO CARBON MONOXIDE GETTING INTO THE VEHICLE. WE LATER TESTED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND HARMFUL LEVELS OF CARBON MONOXIDE GETTING INSIDE THE VEHICLE, BOTH WHILE BEING DRIVEN AND WHEN IDLE. THE LEVELS WERE HIGHER WHEN THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN. AFTER LONG DRIVES, MY CHILDREN HAVE BEEN ILL AND SUFFERED HEADACHE, WHICH WAS PROBABLY CAUSED BY EXPOSURE TO CARBON MONOXIDE. *TR
A FOUL EXHAUST LIKE SMELL ENTERS THE CABIN UPON ACCELERATION. THE DEALER ATTEMPTED TO IDENTIFY AND CORRECT THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER, THE CONDITION CONTINUES. *TR
WITHIN A WEEK OF PURCHASING MY NEW VEHICLE, I STARTED TO ENCOUNTER A STALLING ISSUE WHEN BACKING VEHICLE. WHEN I PUT THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE AND SHIFT INTO DRIVE WHILE STILL ROLLING, THE VEHICLE STALLS. I HAVE SEVERAL OTHER FORD VEHICLES AND THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN WITH ANY OF THEM. I EVEN HAVE A 2012 FORD FOCUS THAT THIS DOES NOT OCCUR WITH. THIS HAPPENS ALMOST EVERYTIME. WHEN I GO FROM PARK TO REVERSE AND BACK OUT OF A PARKING SPOT. IF VEHICLE DOES NOT COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, WHEN I SHIFT INTO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE STALLS. AFTER SPENDING TWO DAYS AT THE DEALERSHIP, I WAS TOLD THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP ALSO TOOK OUT A FEW NEW VEHICLES ON THEIR LOT AND THEY WERE ABLE TO REPRODUCE THIS ON THE VEHICLES ON THEIR LOT. I FEEL THIS IS A HUGE DANGER TO ANYONE WHO HAS A VEHICLE THAT DOES THIS. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THEY HAD BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE ENGINEERS AT FORD AND THAT THIS IS A NORMAL REACTION ON THIS VEHICLE. I ASKED FOR THIS IN WRITING, THEY HAVE YET TO PROVIDE ME WITH A WRITTEN EXPLANATION. *TR

MY rear back up camera display does not work all the time. When I put my car in reverse and the rear camera displays the screen will go black and an error messages appears on the screen. This has been an issue since I purchased the car in 2021.
My problem is with my back up camera. The sides are reversed when it comes on. Left is right and right is left. This is a serious safety defect that may cause an accident one day.
Back up camera stopped working approximately 3-4 years ago.
