POOR PERFORMANCE ON THE FRONT BRAKES, BRAKES WILL LOCK UP. TT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN TO SEVICE NUMEROUS TIMES FOR BRAKE AND TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW GOES UP AND DOWN SLUGGISHLY AND MAKES RUBBING NOISE. *YH

THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE TORE UP & WAS INOPERATIVE. WOULD NOT BE USING & WOULD ENGAGE INTO 4- WHEEL DRIVE. HUB HAS PLASTIC RING WHICH WOULD FAIL. BEEN TO DEALER AT LEAST 16 TIMES FOR PROBLEM. HAD HUBS/GEAR BOX REPLACED 5 TIMES. ALSO, EXPERIENCING BRAKE PROBLEM, COULD NOT STOP VEHICLE. *AK

THE FRONT BRAKE ROTORS HAVE HAD TO BE TURNED AT LEAST 3 TIMES, THE VEHICLE VIBRATES WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED BECAUSE OF WARPED ROTORS. TT
EXPERIENCING BRAKE PULSATING AND OVERHEATING. TT THE BRAKES ON THIS VEHICLE ARE OVERHEATING IN NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS, THE BRAKES FADE ALSO ROTOR WARPAGE, ON 7-5-95 WITH 10568 MILES CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR BRAKE PULSATION, THE DEALER THEN MACHINED THE ROTORS, ALSO BRAKE PULL AFTER PICKING UP THE TRUCK BUT DROVR THE TRUCK SOME TIME TO GIVE THE PADS TIME TO BREAK IN TO THE MACHINED ROTORS, A DOG JUMPED IN FRONT OF VEHICLE CONSUMER TRIED TO MAKE A PANIC STOP AND VEHICLE PULLED INTO OTHER LANE, VEHICLE WENT BACK TO DEALER AND PADS WERE REPLACED, THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS.*JB
DRIVER SEAT DISENGAGED FROM THE TRACK LOCKING DEVICE, RESULTING IN THE SEAT MOVING BACK TO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE, ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT. TT

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1994 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PARKING BRAKE WOULD NOT HOLD THE VEHICLE, WHICH CAUSES IT TO ROLL FREELY. SECONDLY, THE BUMPER IS ABNORMALLY LOOSE AND RATTLES. AS A RESULT, THE BUMPER COULD SEPARATE FROM THE VEHICLE. THIRDLY, THE SEAT BACK RECLINES SUDDENLY. LASTLY, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CONSISTENTLY ILLUMINATES ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE LIGHT INDICATES A FAILURE WITHIN THE AIR BAG SYSTEM. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT ASSIST WITH THE REPAIRS BECAUSE THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBERS 93V184000, 94V018000, 94V169001, AND 96E010000. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. ABS, BRAKE FAILURE, ON WET ROAD SURFACE EXPERIENCE A VERY HARD PULL TO LEFT AND VIBRATION WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED ALSO MAKES LOUD NOISE. TT
DRIVER MUST TURN THE WHEEL SHARPLY IN ORDER TO MAKE A U-TURN DUE TO DEFECTIVE RADIUS ARM. *AK
THE FRONT BRAKE ROTORS ARE WARPING, RESULTING IN BRAKING AND STEERING PROBLEMS. TT
TWO OF THE GENERAL TIRES SUPPLIED AS ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT ON THIS VEHICLE EXPERIENCED TREAD DELAMINATION AND FORMED LARGE BULGES IN THE TREAD AREA--ABOUT 12" IN LENGTH X THE TREAD WIDTH AT APPROXIMATELY 25,000 MILES--WITHIN A FEW WEEKS OF ONE ANOTHER--IN MID 1995. BOTH BULGES OCCURRED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS--65-70 MPH. BOTH OCCURRED ON REAR TIRES. THE TRUCK INCLUDED NO CARGO EXCEPT FOR 2 TO 3 OCCUPANTS. THE TREAD WEAR AT THE TIME OF FAILURE WAS ABOUT 60-70 PERCENT, AND AT THE TIME I DID NOT BELIEVE SUCH A DEFECT WAS PURSUEABLE AS A WARRANTY ITEM WITH THE MANUFACTURER. BEING SOMEWHAT CONCERNED ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THESE ORIGINAL TIRES, I THEN REPLACED ALL FOUR OF THE TIRES WITH MICHELINS, AND HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THESE REPLACEMENT TIRES. THE ORIGINAL TIRES WERE CONSISTENTLY MAINTAINED AT OR NEAR RECOMMENDED TIRE PRESSURES. GIVEN THE RECALLS OF FIRESTONE TIRES SINCE THEN, I NOW SUSPECT A MANUFACTURING DEFECT EXISTED.*AK (TIRESIZE: L235/75R15)
