THE PROBLEM IS ON GOING, THE PCM CHIP HAS BEEN UPDATED, FUSES CHECKED, THE MOTOR FOR THE WINDOW HAS BEEN REPLACED AND NOW BEING CHECKED FOR A WIRING SHORT. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 30-35 MPH @ APPROX 1500 RPM THE TRANSMISSION SHUTERS AND SHAKES BEFORE DOWN SHIFTING TO SECOND GEAR. THIS PROBLEM ONLY OCCURS WHILE IN THIRD GEAR AT THIS LOW RPM WHEN THE TRANSMISSION IS UNDER A LOAD, SUCH AS GOING UP HILL. DEALER CAN NOT FIX
VEHICLE WILL STALL AT SLOW SPEEDS DURING LONG TRIPS, 5 TIMES SO FAR. TAKEN TO DEALER 3 TIMES, CANNOT REMEDY PROBLEM. *AK
ENGINE KNOCK AT START UP. I BROUGHT THE PROBLEM TO THE ATTENTION OF FORD WHEN THE TRUCK WAS STILL UNDERWARRANTY. THEY KNEW IT WAS A PROBLEM AND DID NOT HAVE A FIX. SO THERFORE THEY DID NOTHING. NOW THAT THE PROBLEM IS WORSING, FORD HAS A SOLUTION BUT WILL DO NOTHING AS IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. I FEEL THEY AVOIDED FINDING A SOLUTION AND FIXING UNTIL THE VAST MAJORITY OF ENGINES WERE OUT OF WARRANTY AND NOW WILL NOT OWN UP TO THE FIX. *AK

WHILE DRIVING LUGS: NUTS CAME OFF THE WHEELS, VEHICLE LOST CONTROL, RESULTING IN A COLLISION IN WHICH THE SON OF THE CONSUMER WAS KILLED. WHILE DRIVING AT 25 MPH IN TRAFFIC AND APPLYING THROTTLE PEDAL, PEDAL GOT STUCK, CAUSING VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE. *AK
HAD RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL (98V161000). NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP. WAS INFORMED THAT PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE REAR LEAF SPRINGS. HAS NOT RECEIVED ANYTHING FROM THE MANUFACTURER. WOULD CALL OWNER WHEN PARTS DO BECOME AVAILABLE. *AK
WHILE PARKED VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE.
CAME IN FROM THE PASTURE AROUND 7-8:00 P.M. PARKED TRUCK UNDER CARPORT. WOKE UP AROUND 5:00 A. M. AND FIRE WAS COMING OUT FROM UNDER BOTH FRONT FENDER WELLS AND THE CAB WAS FULL OF SMOKE AND FIRE. BY THE TIME THE FIRE DEPARTMENT GOT TO THE HOUSE, IT WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES WHICH RESUTLED IN TOTAL LOSS OF HOME AND TRUCK. A FIRE INVESTIGATOR FEELS THE CAUSE OF THE VEHICLE FIRE WAS CAUSED BY A SHORT IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. *SLC
[XXX], THIS IS IN CONCERN TO THE E-MAIL I RECEIVED FROM YOU ABOUT THE OVERLOAD SPRINGS ON MY TRUCK. MY TRUCK WAS BOUNCING REAL BAD, SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER ABOUT 4 WEEKS AGO. THEY SUPPOSEDLY LOOKED IT OVER REAL GOOD AND FOUND NO PROBLEMS. I HAD A BLOWOUT ON THE HIGHWAY AND NOTICED THE SPRING WAS COCKED ABOUT 20 DEGREES IN THE WHEEL AND THE OVERLOAD SPRING WAS BROKE. I CALLED THE DEALER THE NEXT MORNING AND HE TOLD ME TO BRING IT BACK IN. WHEN I TOOK IT IN, THEY FINALLY CONCEDED THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG AND ORDERED A NEW SPRING ASSEMBLY, BUT TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T GIVE ME A LOANER CAR AND SAID THAT IT WOULD BE OKAY TO DRIVE. I HAD A NEW SPRING ASSEMBLY INSTALLED A WEEK LATER. TODAY, WHILE INSTALLING NEW SHOCKS, I NOTICED THAT THE RIGHT SIDE IS NOW BROKE IN THE SAME SPOT, WHERE THE SPRING ASSEMBLY BOLT IS AT. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT THEY ARE HAVING PROBLEMS, BUT THAT I SHOULDN'T WORRY ABOUT IT, UNLESS IT GETS WORSE. I GUESS THEY WANT ME TO WAIT TIL I WRECK THE [XXX] THING. I KNOW OF ALOT OF PEOPLE WHO ARE HAVING THESE PROBLEMS. FEEL FREE TO CALL ME ANYTIME. BY THE WAY, I REALLY NEED TO KNOW IF IT IS OKAY FOR ME TO DRIVE THE TRUCK? 17 INCH CAST ALUMINUM LEFT REAR WHEEL HAS CRACKED AT LEAST TWO INCHES LONG WHICH COULD CAUSE THE WHEEL TO FALL AND RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED, BUT WILL NOT REPLACE. *AK *ML
EA98018; THE FLOORMAT MOVED UNDERNEATH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND CAUSED THE THROTTLE TO STICK, HAD TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE TO SHUT OFF, ALMOST RESULTING AN ACCIDENT. ALSO PROBLEMS WITH BRAKING SYSTEM IN WHICH BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR AND EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE OCCURS. DEALER SAID THE BRAKES REPRESNT THE CHARACTERISTS OF THE VEHICLE. *AK
TREAD CAME OFF OF THE TIRE WHILE DRIVING AT 75MPH, TIRE DISCONNECTED FROM VEHICLE, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO GO OUT OF CONTROL. ALSO, KNOCKED UNDERNEATH, CAUSING VEHICLE TO CUT OFF AND POWER STEERING WENT OUT. DEALER CONTACTED, AND STATED THE TIRES WERE NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, DAMAGE TO VEHICLE WAS $700, AND VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVEABLE. GENERAL TIRES 235/70/16 . TIRE COMPANIES CONTACTED AND,COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK

WHILE DRIVING 40-45 MPH HAD A DIRECT FRONTAL IMPACT IN WHICH THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, WHICH DID NOT PROTECT THE OCCUPANT IN THIS ACCIDENT. CAUSE UNKNOWN. *AK *ML

FACTORY PROGRAMMED COMPUTER WAS MADE TO RUN DIAGNOSTIC ENGINE CHECK UPON ENGINE START-UP.THE COMPUTER WILL MAKE A MISDIAGNOSIS THAT ENGINE IS NOT RUNNING ON ALL CYLINDERS CAUSING ENGINE LIGHT TO STAY ON.FORD MOTOR COMPANY KNEW THIS AND NOW SUPPLYS DEALER WITH COMPUTER SOFTWARE THAT RECALLIBRATES THE COMPUTER TO WAIT 240 SECONDS AFTER INITAL START-UP BEFORE MAKING DIAGNOSTIC ENGINE CHECKS.NOTIFIED DEALER.THEY REPROGRAMED COMPUTER AND CHARGED ME (THE ORIGINAL OWNER) $57.60+TAX.

WHILE DRIVING AT 6-7 MPH, HEARD A LARGE BANG, AND LOST STEERING AND VEHICLE WENT ONTO THE SIDEWALK. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALER, AND THEY STATED THE BOLTS ON THE POWER STEERING GEAR SHEARED OFF. DEALER REPLACED THE PARTS WITH NO INVESTIGATION OF THE CAUSE OR IF IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. *AK
STEERING LINKAGES MAKE POPPING NOISES AT LOW SPEEDS & ON ROUGH ROADS. THE NOISE IS LOUDER WHEN TURNING WHEEL. DEVELOPED A LOT OF PLAY IN STEERING WHEEL. PROBLEM OCCURRED AFTER WARRANTY RAN OUT. WILL BE TAKING VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER. *AK
WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, CONSUMER PROCEEDED TO STOP AT A STOP LIGHT, THE VEHICLE WENT STRAIGHT THROUGH THE LIGHT THERE WERE NO BRAKES, AFTER PUMPING THE BRAKES, THE PRESSURE CAME BACK, BUT THE BRAKES WERE HARD. *AK CONSUMER STATES THE VEHICLE ALSO SHOOK AS IF THE ROTORS WERE COMING APART.*JB
WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 TO 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO GAIN SPEED ON ITS OWN. TRYING TO AVOID HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE, THE CAR WENT INTO AND HIT AN EMBANKMENT HEAD-ON. NEITHER AIR BAG DEPLOYED, AND NONE OF THE THREE SEAT BELTS HELD PASSENGERS. DRIVER SUSTAINED FACE AND HEAD INJURIES. FRONT PASSENGER SUFFERED NECK AND SHOULDER INJURIES. BACK PASSENGER SUSTAINED HEAD INJURIES AND ABRASIONS. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED. *AK
LUG NUTS HAD LOOSENED AND WERE STRIPPED PRIOR TO RECALL NOTICE, DENIED RECALL WORK DUE TO LUGS BEING SHEARED OFF.
BOTTOM LEAF SEPARATES ON BOTH SIDES OF REAR SPRING ASSEMBLIES & POINTS OUTWARD AT REAR. LOUD CLUNKING, RATTLING & VIBRATION IN STEERING COLUMN & DASHBOARD. 2 GENERAL TIRES BLEW OUT WITHIN 250 MILES.
OUTSIDE DOOR WAS CRACKING IN HALF BELOW THE WINDOW SEAL AS IF IT WERE ABOUT TO BREAK AWAY. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK
GENERAL AMERI 550 P236/70RIE TIRE BLEW OUT, DUE TO INADEQUATE SHIELD PROTECTION,PLASTIC WELL SHIELD CAME OFF,VACUUM RESERVE BOX CAME OFF AND THE COMPUTER WIRE NURSES SWITCH UNPLUGGED.
TORQUE CONVERTOR ALMOST CAME OUT. MECHANIC REPLACED IT. WHEN SHIFTING FROM HIGH GEAR TO OVERDRIVE, VEHICLE WOULD SHIMMY AND SHAKE BADLY. *AK
