WE HAVE A 2005 FORD F-150, MY HUSBAND IS DEPLOYED AND THE TRUCK SITS FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME. ON JULY 3RD, ME AND MY DAUGHTER (FIVE YEARS OLD) WERE DRIVING THE TRUCK WHEN THE WNDOW FELL. WHAT IF THE WINDOW WOULD HAVE SHATTERED AND HURT MY CHILD?? THIS WINDOW HAS BEEN UP AND DOWN MAYBE A HAND FULL OF TIMES! THIS WAS BY NO WAY "AN OVER TIME" INCIDENT. FORD IS OPTING TO HAVE CHEAP PARTS PRODUCED, WHILE NEVER THINKING OF THE EFFECTS ON THE DRIVER OR PASSENGARS! READING ON LINE, THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. I THINK ITS ABOUT TIME SOMEONE TAKE SOME ACTION AND STAND UP TO THEM! WHAT IF THE GLASS WOULD HAVE SHATTERED AND MY DAUGHTER END UP IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM OR SOMETHING? THEN THERE'S MORE OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES, DUE TO NEGLEGENCE ON FORD'S PART. I'M ALREADY OUT OF POCKET 350.00 DUE TO FORD TRYING TO SAVE THEMSELVES A LITTLE MONEY AND PRODUCING YET AGAIN VERY CHEAP, '!@#$% PARTS!! *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. WHEN THE CONTACT STARTED THE IGNITION, THE AIR BAG SUDDENLY DEPLOYED FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED MINOR BURNS AND CUTS TO THE LEFT ARM AND RIGHT SIDE OF THE FACE. THERE WERE NO WARNINGS PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE MALFUNCTION. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 51,100.
DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW MECHANISM BROKE MAKING A VERY LOUD NOISE. WINDOW DROPPED INTO DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AND COULDN'T BE PUT BACK UP. *TR
OCCASIONALLY THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT RELEASE EITHER BY PRESSING BRAKE OR TURNING OFF ON STEERING WHEEL BUTTON. HAVE TO BRAKE AGAINST CRUISE CONTROL UNTIL VEHICLE SLOWS ENOUGH FOR IT TO DROP OUT. WHICH IS NEARLY STOPPED. *TR
ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK ONE DAY WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE, I DECIDED TO GET A LITTLE FRESH AIR SO I ROLLED MY DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW DOWN. WHEN I TRIED TO ROLL IT BACK UP THERE WAS A LOUD GRINDING SOUND AND A POP. AFTER THIS MY WINDOW SLAMMED DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR. I WAS SO STARTLED THAT I ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE. ONCE I GOT HOME, I TOOK APART MY DOOR AND FOUND THAT THE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR HAD BROKEN. I CALLED THE FORD SERVICE DEPT ONLY TO FIND OUT THE REPAIR COST WOULD BE IN EXCESS OF $300. I FOUND THE PART THROUGH A NAPA DEALER AND REPAIRED THE PROBLEM MYSELF FOR AROUND $150.00 SINCE THIS INCIDENCE MY PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW AND REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW HAVE BOTH SLAMMED DOWN. I NOW KNOW THE FAMILIAR SOUND OF THE WINDOW REGULATOR ABOUT TO FAIL. EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS I AM OUT OF POCKET FOR $150 PLUS MY TIME TO REPAIR. THIS SEEMS TO BE A RE-OCCURRING PROBLEM WITH 05 FORD 150 OWNERS AND FORD SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE. I COULD HAVE EASILY OVER CORRECTED MY VEHICLE UPON BEING STARTLED AND INJURED MYSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150 SUPER CREW. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE CONTACT HEARD A MECHANICAL NOISE IN THE REAR OF HIS VEHICLE. THE REAR WINDOW FELL DOWN INTO THE TRACK OF THE DOOR. THIS FAILURE HAS OCCURRED WITH ALL THE WINDOWS IN HIS VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS A FAULTY WINDOW REGULATOR WITHIN THE DOORS OF THE WINDOWS, WHICH CAUSED ALL OF THEM TO FALL DOWN INTO THE DOOR TRACKS. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE WINDOWS TWICE, BUT REFUSE TO ANYMORE BECAUSE THERE WAS NO WARRANTY ON THE WINDOWS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,450. UPDTAED 07/20/09 *BF UPDATED 07/21/09. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW FAILED TO OPERATE. THERE WERE NO WARNINGS PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY FOR THE IDENTICAL FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
2005 F-150 WINDOW REGULATOR FAILS WITHOUT WARNING. HAD ONE REPLACED UNDER MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY AND ANOTHER FAILED AT 48K MILES. SEEMS TO BE A COMMON TREND AMONGST FORD VEHICLES. I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS PROBLEM IS NOT JUST LIMITED TO THE 2005 MODELS. ALSO APPEARS IN EXPEDITIONS. THIS IS A SERIOUS RISK FOR THEFT, AS WELL AS A DANGER TO THE OCCUPANTS. MOST RECENT FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING. IT WAS RAINING WHEN THE WINDOW FELL, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO DRIVE. COULD HAVE EASILY RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. *TR

2005 F150 4X2 REGULAR CAB. . PURCHASED NEW FROM AL PACKERD FORD, ROYAL PALM BEACH, FL. I HAVE NOTICED A VIBRATION/SHUDDER, FROM INTERMITTENTLY TO CONTINUOUSLY ON SHORT TRIPS. ON LONGER TRIPS I NOTICED A COUPLE TIMES AN ODOR OF SOMETHING BURNING. I BROUGHT IT TO ADVANTAGE FORD, 4000 SE FEDERAL HIGHWAY.PO BOX 2930, STUART, FL. 34995, PHONE: 772-287-0955, TO HAVE IT INSPECTED AND THEY SAID I NEEDED A BRAKE CALIPER ON THE RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE. MILEAGE AT TIME OF INSPECTION: 62,701. MY CONCERN IS THAT THIS IS A SAFETY DEFECT AND A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AS WELL. *TR
THE LEFT FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR BROKE ALLOWING THE WINDOW TO FALL INTO THE DOOR WITH NO POSSIBILITY OF RAISING IT BACK TO A SECURE POSITION. THERE WAS NO ADVANCE WARNING, JUST A LOUD POP BEFORE THE WINDOW DESCENDED OUT OF SIGHT. FORTUNATELY FOR ME IT WAS CLEAR AND HOT (100 DEGREES) SO I DIDN'T HAVE TO CONTEND WITH STORMY WEATHER. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE ITEMS ON A MOTOR VEHICLE THAT SHOULD BE VERY DEPENDABLE, IF FOR NO OTHER REASON, SECURITY. I'M GLAD I WAS DRIVING AND NOT MY WIFE. I HAD THE REGULATOR REPLACED AT A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY AT A COST OF $290.44. THE OLD PARTS WERE DISCARDED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 1 MPH IN REVERSE WHEN THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG INDEPENDENTLY DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LEFT ARM AS A RESULT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR THE FAILURE BUT RECEIVED NO ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS THEN CONTACTED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS PERFORMED AND THE RESULTS WERE SENT TO THE MANUFACTURER WHERE THE CONCLUDED THAT THEY WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY FURTHER ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE APPROXIMATE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 197,000.
2005 FORD F150 LARIAT SUPERCAB...FRONT DRIVER SIDE WINDOW FELL INTO THE DOOR WHILE DRIVING..BAD WINDOW REGULATOR. *TR
1. AS I WAS LEAVING THE WAL-MART PARKING LOT THE RIGHT FRONT UPPER BALL JOINT ON MY 1995 FORD F-150 4X4 BROKE APART AND DISABLED THE VEHICLE. THE BALL JOINT MANUFACTURER APPARENTLY DID NOT PUT GREASE IN THE JOINT WHEN IT WAS MANUFACTURED. 2. I DO NOT KNOW HOW OFTEN THIS PART FAILS ON THE FORD F-150. IT FAILED ON MY VEHICLE AT 62K MILES DUE TO A MANUFACTURING DEFICIENCY. FORTUNATELY THE FAILURE WAS AT PARKING LOT SPEED. HAD IT OCCURRED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS I COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN KILLED AND POSSIBLY KILLED OTHERS AS THE VEHICLE WAS UNCONTROLLABLE WHEN THE PART FAILED. 3. I HAD THE VEHICLE HAULED TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THEY REPLACED IT AT A COST OF OVER $500. FEARING THAT THE LEFT FRONT MIGHT ALSO FAIL I HAD IT REPLACED FOR A TOTAL COST $1,071.94. I REQUESTED THAT ALL PARTS BE SAVED AND PROVIDED TO ME AND HAVE ALL THAT WERE PROVIDED. I DISCOVERED UPON EXAMINATION THAT THEY DID NOT INCLUDE THE RUST PITTED BALL JOINT IN THE PARTS THEY PROVIDED ME BUT THE TORN OPEN JOINT ASSEMBLY AND REST OF THE PARTS ARE INCLUDED. THE FORD DEALER WHO MADE THE REPAIRS AND THE PRESIDENT OF FORD MOTOR COMPANY THROUGH HIS REPRESENTATIVE HAVE REFUSED TO PROVIDE ANY WARRANTY ON THIS DEFECTIVE PART AS THERE IS CURRENTLY NO RECALL IN PLACE ON THIS VEHICLE FOR THIS PART. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS OCCURS OFTEN BUT THEY HAD THE PARTS IN STOCK FOR THE RIGHT FRONT REPAIR. WHEN I ASKED FOR THE LEFT FRONT TO BE REPAIRED THEY HAD TO ORDER THOSE PARTS IN. I HAVE DOCUMENTATION OF THIS MATTER AND MY ATTEMPTS TO GET THE REPAIRS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I HAVE DRIVEN MANY FORD VEHICLES OVER THE PAST 45 YEARS IN EXCESS OF 100K MILES (ONE OVER 200K MILES) AND HAVE NEVER HAD UP UPPER BALL JOINT FAIL. THIS IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND CONSTITUTES A DANGER TO ANY DRIVER OF THE F-150. *TR
I USED THE POWER BUTTON ON THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR TO LOWER THE WINDOW AND HEARD A POP. THE WINDOW CRASHED DOWN AND LUCKILY DID NOT BREAK. I TRIED TO RAISE THE WINDOW AND HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE WIRES GETTING WOUND UP. FAILURE HAPPENED ONCE. THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR PLASTIC CRACKED WHICH HOLD THE WIRE TO RAISE AND LOWER THE WINDOW. THE WINDOW REGULATOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND WITH THE CONTACT SEATED IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT, THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED WITHOUT IMPACT. THE CONTACT SUFFERED MINOR BURNS ON THE WRIST. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 66,000.
2005 FORD F-150 LARIAT CREW CAB; REAR DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW JUST FELL. FAULTY POWER WINDOW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY; THIS IS THE 3RD WINDOW TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM SINCE PURCHASING THE TRUCK NEW IN 2005; NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND COSTS $400 TO FIX; SINCE THIS IS THE THIRD WINDOW IN 60K MILES, MUST BE A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT; MANY OTHER F150 OWNERS HAVE HAD SAME PROBLEM; NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND FIXED WITH A BETTER QUALITY PART; FIRST ONE FAILED AT 15K MILES; SECOND ONE FAILED AT 40K MILES; NOW 3RD ONE HAS FAILED AT 60K MILES; EACH ON DIFFERENT WINDOWS. *TR
ROLLED DOWN FRONT DRIVER WINDOW OF '05 F150 AND THE WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED WHEN IT WAS ALL THE WAY DOWN. I'VE SEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON THIS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT. THE CONTACT IS CONCERNED THAT THE CORROSION ON THE RIMS CAUSED THE BLOW OUT AND COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE A CRASH. THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS CORROSION AROUND THE RIMS AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT THE TIRE WAS LOW. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE TIRES FREQUENTLY DUE TO THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE VALVE STEM WHERE THE AIR WAS APPLIED AND THE RIM WERE LEAKING AIR AS WELL. THE DEALER STATED THAT REPLACING THE TIRES SHOULD REMEDY THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THE TIRES CONTINUED TO LOSE AIR PRESSURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW FELL FOR NO REASON ON MY 2005 FORD F-150 XLT 4X4. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND BOUGHT THE PART (REGULATOR ASSEMBLY). FOR 218.00 AND I AM GOING TO REPLACE IT MYSELF. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 FORD F-150 PICK UP WITH A 5.4 LITER TRITON ENGINE. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE NUMBER 1 SPARKPLUG WAS SPIT OUT DAMAGING THE HEAD. THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY SLOWED DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. FORD SAID THIS IS UNCOMMON, YET THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ALREADY FILED ABOUT THIS PARTICULAR ENGINE THROUGH THE NHTSA. I HAVE TO COMPLETELY REPLACE THE ENGINE. *TR

2005 FORD F-150 FX4 - DRIVERSIDE WINDOW/DOOR, HEARD A LOUD POP IN THE DOOR AND THE WINDOW (IN THE UP POSITION) DROPPED TO THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR. THIS OCCURRED WHILE TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE 235 IN IOWA AT AN APPROXIMATE SPEED OF 70 MPH. THIS INCIDENT COULD HAVE VERY EASILY CAUSED A FATAL ACCIDENT. *TR
I HEARD A LOUD CRACK AND THEN MY DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW FELL! I SEARCHED THE WEB AND FOUND SO MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, DO SOMETHING! FORD SHOULD PUT OUT A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM. I'VE FOUND THERE WAS SEVERAL F150 OWNERS ALL HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM. BAD DESIGN ON THESE REGULATORS BAD WINDOW REGULATOR ON THIS TRUCK IN UNDER 72,000 MILES. FORD NEEDS TO REFUND OR RECALL ALL OF THESE TRUCKS. IT IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM; THESE REGULATORS ARE DEFECTIVE FROM THE FACTORY! *TR
SPARK PLUGS CANNOT BE CHANGED BECAUSE OF DESIGN OF CYLINDER HEAD. THIS IS A SPARK PLUG BREAKAGE INSIDE THE HEAD. THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE ON 5.4 LITER FORD MOTORS AS REPORTED ON FORUMS AND THROUGH WORD OF MOUTH. 1998 TO 2008 MOTORS ARE NOTORIOUS LEADING CONSUMERS TO EITHER PAY HUGE REPAIR BILLS OR TRADE BEFORE THEY WISH TO TRADE. ALSO, SOMEONE WISHING TO CHANGE HIS PLUGS FOR PROPER EMISSIONS OR PROPER MAINTENANCE IS JUST SCREWED. SCARED TO DEATH TO HAVE THEM CHANGED EVEN AT A DEALERSHIP. FORD MECHANICS EVEN HAVE TROUBLE.THIS IS NO FEW VEHICLES. THIS IS WIDESPREAD.

REGARDING: 2005 FORD F 150 TRUCK PURCHASED NEW FROM DEALER, HAS BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH STALLING. IT HAS STALLED IN REVERSE AND WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. I ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT TODAY ON THE FREEWAY, WHICH IS WHY I AM TAKING THE TIME TO LOOK INTO THIS MATTER. I ALSO KNOW A FEW PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND HAVE ALSO SEEN MANY POSTINGS ONLINE FOR THIS ISSUE. MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN INJURED IN ACCIDENTS AND MANY TRUCKS HAVE CAUGHT ON FIRE. ALL HAVE STARTED WITH THESE SAME PROBLEMS. FORD RECOGNIZED THIS PROBLEM UNTIL THE MADE YEAR OF 2004. I DO BELIEVE IT ALSO A PROBLEM WITH 2005, AND MAYBE WITH OTHER YEARS. THIS REALLY NEEDS TO BE CHECKED INTO. I HAVE HAD MY TRUCK LOOKED AT BY A MECHANIC, AND HE IS NOT SURE OF THE PROBLEM. I SEE A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH FORD AND FUEL INJECTORS AND CRUISE CONTROL WITH MY YEAR OF TRUCK, BUT NO RECALLS. THIS IS A SERIOUS MATTER AND I WOULD APPRECIATE THAT IT BE HANDLED RESPONSIBLY. *TR
SUDDEN ENGINE SURGES OCCURRING AT ANY TIME WEATHER MOVING OR STOPPED AT RED LIGHT OR WHILE SLOWING DOWN TO STOP. *TR
2005 F-150 FX4 5.4L TRITON 43,000 MILES WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ONE MORNING, I HEARD A LOUD THUD!! IN SHOCK, THINKING SOMETHING MAY HAVE CRASHED THROUGH MY WINDOW, I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD DURING VERY BUSY A.M TRAFFIC. I COULD NOT FIND ANY TRACE OF BROKEN GLASS. I THEN LOOKED INSIDE THE DOOR AND SAW THAT THE GLASS HAD JUST FALLEN IN????? I COULD PRESS THE BUTTON AND HEAR THE MOTOR, BUT ABSOLUTELY NO MOVEMENT FROM THE GLASS. TWO WEEKS LATER, WITH A 2X4 HOLDING THE WINDOW UP ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF A 35,000.00 DOLLAR AUTOMOBILE, ME MY TWO YEAR AND MY ELEVEN YEAR OLDS IN THE BACK, WERE ON INTERSTATE 10.UNBELIEVABLY, MY DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW COMES CRASHING DOWN AND EXPLODES IN THE DOOR!!!! WITH THE WIND RUSHING UNEXPECTEDLY IN, AND THE LOUD CRASH OF THE GLASS BREAKING IN THE DOOR, I TEMPORARILY LOST CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE. KNOWING I HAD MY FAMILIES LIFE AT STAKE, I IMMEDIATELY GAINED CONTROL AND BROUGHT MY TRUCK TO A SCREECHING HALT IN THE EMERGENCY LANE. FROM THAT MOMENT, I HAVE CONTACTED THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, CALLED FORD AND MADE COMPLAINTS. ACCORDING TO THE FORD PARTS PERSON I SPOKE TO THE OTHER DAY THE WINDOW REGULATOR PART# HAS CHANGED NOW 3 TIMES AND HE STATED THAT FORD NEVER CHANGES THE PART # UNLESS THERE IS A PHYSICAL CHANGE TO THE PART AND HE STATED THEY HAVE HAD "ISSUES" WITH THESE REGULATORS THUS THE CHANGE, HE STATED THAT THE NEWEST VERSION HAS BEEN BEEFED UP AROUND THE PLASTIC CLIP THAT KEEPS BREAKING OFF, HOPEFULLY THE NEWEST VERSIONS HAVE CORRECTED THE PROBLEM BUT AS YOU CAN SEE JUST BY THE FACT THAT FORD HAS CHANGED THE PART # 3 TIMES THEY KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND NOW THEY NEED TO FIX THIS SAFETY HAZARD ON ALL OF OUR WINDOWS. *TR

FORD F150 PICKUP. THE PASSENGER-SIDE SIMPLY WINDOW DROPPED TO THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR AS I WAS DRIVING. THE DEALER SAYS IT IS CAUSED BY A FAILED WINDOW REGULATOR. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED ON THIS VEHICLE; ALSO HAD A SINGLE FAILURE ON MY 2004 FORD EXPEDITION, THE REAR WINDOW WHERE MY (THEN) 4-YEAR OLD DAUGHTER SAT. LEADING UP TO THE EVENT I NOTICED FRICTION NOISE WHEN OPERATING LEFT FRONT POWER WINDOW. ON THE FREEWAY I HEARD WIND NOISE WHICH SOUNDED LIKE THE WINDOW HAD CRACKED OPEN. AS I REACHED FOR THE UP DOWN SWITCH THE WINDOW DROPPED INTO THE DOOR. I WAS QUITE STARTLED. WHEN I GOT HOME I GOOGLED THE INTERNET TO FIND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THE F-150 POWER WINDOWS. 2005 F150 WITH 38,000 MILES,DEVELOPED A WOBBLE WHEN DRIVING AT ANY SPEED.REPLACED BOTH LOWER FRONT BALL JOINTS.AFTER CHANGING THE BALL JOINTS OUT I ROTATED THE TIRES,AND THE WOBBLING BECAME WORSE NOT BETTER.I INSPECTED THE TIRE THAT WAS ORIGINALLY ON THE BACK LEFT SIDE OF THE TRUCK, AND I FOUND A RAISED SPOT APPROXIMATELY 10" LONG AND 2 TO 3 " WIDE ON THE ISIDE OF THE TIRE TREAD.THE TREAD IN THIS SPOT WAS WORN DOWN PAST THE TREAD WEAR BARS,AND THE REST OF THE TREAD ON THE TIRE WAS STILL IN A GOOD ENOUGH STATE THAT I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN ANOTHER 10,000 MILES OUT OF IT.I TOOK THE TRUCK TO LOCAL TIRE DEALER AND THEY ISPECTED THE REST OF THE TIRES AND FOUN 2 MORE WORN EXACTLY THE SAME.IREPLACED ALL 4 TIRES WITH ANOTHER BRAND. *TR

I HAVE A 2005 FORD F-150 (4.6L V8) AND I RECENTLY HAD A SPARK PLUG BLOW OUT OF THE ENGINE, FOR THE SECOND TIME. THE FIRST TIME IT COST ME $556.50 TO REPAIR IT. THIS TIME IT HAPPENED IN A DIFFERENT CYLINDER. THIS TIME I HAD MY 2YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WITH ME AND WAS STRANDED ALONG INTERSTATE 70 FOR OVER AN HOUR. MY TRUCK IS A 2005 FORD F-150 WITH 45,000 MILES NO PRIOR PROBLEMS SERVICED AS PER THE FORD RECOMMENDATIONS AS WELL AS REGULAR OIL CHANGES. WHILE ON VACATION GETTING OFF THE FREEWAY OFF RAMP IN RENO NEVADA AND COMING TO A STOP AT A RED LIGHT MY CAR STARTED TO SHAKE AND SPUTTER AS IF IT WAS GOING TO TURN OFF AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. AFTER THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I PROCEEDED THROUGH THE GREEN LIGHT AND PARKED THE TRUCK IN A SAFE SPOT OFF THE STREET. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND LIFTED THE HOOD AND THERE WAS A SMALL ODDER OF GAS FUMES. SEEING THAT I NEEDED TO GET TO A SAFE AREA I SLOWLY DROVE THE TRUCK TO A HOTEL. THE NEXT DAY ON MONDAY AT A SLOW SPEED NO MORE THAN 25 MILES PER HR. I DROVE THE TRUCK TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I SPOKE WITH A FORD SERVICE ADVISOR. THE FORD SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A (FUEL INJECTOR NOTICE) FOR THIS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL FORD TRUCK. HE ALSO SAID THAT THERE COULD BE A POSSIBILITY THAT OTHER ENGINE PROBLEMS COULD INCUR AS A RESULT OF THE BAD FUEL INJECTOR. HE SAID THAT THERE COULD BE A POSSIBILITY THAT MY MOTOR COULD (HYDROLOCK) AND CAUSE OTHER PROBLEMS IN THE ENGINE AND THAT THERE WAS ALSO A POSSIBILITY THAT MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER COULD BE DAMAGED. AFTER RECEIVING THIS INFO I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP THEY SHUTTLED ME BACK TO MY HOTEL. LATER THAT DAY THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM. THIS IS THE EXPLANATION OF WHAT THE DEALERSHIP SAID WAS WRONG WITH MY TRUCK: (1)BAD FUEL INJECTOR. (2)BENT ROD. LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IT IS BECAUSE OF THE HEAT IN LAS VEGAS AND THEY KEEP LOTS OF THEM IN STOCK BECAUSE IT IS A VERY COMMON FAILURE. WHILE DRIVING, THE VACUUM SOLENOID FOR THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE TRIES TO ENGAGE THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE - EVEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS- RESULTING IN A HORRIBLE SOUND. THE SOUND WAS "LIKE I HAD RUN OVER A SHOPPING CART OR HIT SOMETHING IN THE ROAD AND WAS DRAGGING IT UNDER THE TRUCK". THIS HAPPENED 5 TIMES IN TWO DAYS IN LESS THAN 30 MILES OF TOTAL DRIVING. THIS "FALSE ENGAGEMENT" OF THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE HAPPENS WITHOUT ANY WARNING IN ALL KIDS OF DRIVING CONDITIONS (SLOW, FAST, BREAKING OR ACCELERATING). A NEW, REDESIGNED (NOW HAS A COVER ON IT TO KEEP MOISTURE OUT- WHICH WAS CAUSING THE FAILURE) VACUUM SOLENOID WAS INSTALLED ON TRUCK - A $27.00 PART. DEALERSHIP KEPT OLD PART. TECH. AT DEALER TOLD ME THAT THIS PART WILL GO BAD AT SOME POINT AND NEED REPLACING ON ALL THE TRUCKS WITH THE PART. HE SAID "NOT IF BUT WHEN". FORD KNEW ABOUT THE PROBLEM - HENCE THE REDESIGNED PART. FORD HAS NOT NOTIFIED OWNERS OF THIS PART AND IT'S IMPENDING FAILURE. *TR
