THE LOSS OF BRAKE POWER ASSIST SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER HAS INDICATED THE FAILURE ?RESULTED FROM A BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY VACUUM HOSE BECOMING DETACHED FROM THE INTAKE MANIFOLD.? IT WAS FIXED UPON THE FIRST OCCASION, BUT A SUBSEQUENT FAILURE HAS OCCURRED. *TR
I WAS LOADING STUFF INTO THE BACK SEAT OF MY 2006 F-150. THE WIND CAUGHT THE FRONT DOOR AND IT SLAMMED SHUT. THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR IS EXTREMELY SHARP AND STUCK INTO MY LEG. IT REQUIRED STAPLES BECAUSE IT WAS TO DEEP FOR STITCHES. UPON INSPECTION, THE DOOR IS NOT PUT TOGETHER PROPERLY AND THE EDGES ARE NOT SEALED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE CONTACT'S FOOT SIMULTANEOUSLY DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE STRUCK THE FRONT END OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT DID NOT NOTICE ANY DIFFERENCES IN THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE SPEED WAS UNKNOWN. I HAVE A 2006 F150 CREW CAB 4X4 PICKUP WITH GENERAL AMERITRAC TR TIRES AND 19,000 MILES ON THEM AND THE TIRES ARE SHOT . THESE TIRE CAME ON THE TRUCK BRAND NEW WHEN I PURCHASE THE TRUCK FROM BEV SMITH FORD AND THE TIRES REALLY SUCK IM A VERY PISSED OFF CUSTOMER OVER THESE TIRES I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO BUY TIRES I THINK FORD SHOULD REPLACE THEM FOR FREE IF THEY OR YOU REFUSE TO REPLACE FOR FREE DIRECT ACTION WILL BE TAKEN!!!!!!!!! *TR
ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED THE VEHICLE ACTUALLY SPED-UP AND WAS ONLY BROUGHT TO A STOP THROUGH HEAVY PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. *TR
ON SATURDAY, MARCH 8, 2008, I WAS TRAVELING WITH MY 2006 FORD F-150 AND STOPPED FOR GAS. UPON ENGINE RESTART I HEARD A BACKFIRE AND SMELLED A PECULIAR ODOR. I CHECKED UNDER THE TRUCK AND UNDER THE HOOD AND FOUND NOTHING UNUSUAL. I STARTED THE TRUCK AND DIDN'T NOTICE ANYTHING EITHER. THERE WAS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ANY OTHER VISUAL REFERENCE TO INDICATE THERE WAS A PROBLEM. I GOT BACK ON THE HIGHWAY AND DROVE FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 HOURS (100 MILES) AND EXITED THE HIGHWAY. WHILE ON THE EXIT RAMP I APPLIED THE BRAKES ONLY TO DISCOVER THAT THEY WERE EXTREMELY HARD TO DEPRESS AND WERE INEFFECTIVE. I MANAGED TO GUIDE THE TRUCK OFF THE ROAD WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY APPLYING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND GEARING DOWN AND WAS ABLE TO STOP BEFORE HITTING VEHICLES STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AT THE END OF THE RAMP. I DISCOVERED LATER (AFTER BEING TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP) THAT THE VACUUM LINE FROM THE INTAKE MANIFOLD HAD RUPTURED (OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE BACKFIRED) LEAVING NO POWER ASSIST FOR THE BRAKES. THERE WAS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THERE WAS NO BRAKE WARNING LIGHT. THERE WERE NO CODES FROM THE ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER. I HAD TRAVELED FOR 2 HOURS AND 100 MILES WITH NO BRAKES UNAWARE OF THE EXISTING HAZARD. THE DEALER COULD NOT EXPLAIN THE ABSENCE OF ANY WARNING. I WAS FORTUNATE TO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO STOP THE TRUCK AND AVOID AN ACCIDENT. *TR
HUSBANDS TRUCK BEGAN WOBBLING NOTICEABLY WHILE DRIVING. CHECKED TIRES AND CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT 3 TIRES HAD BUBBLES IN THE SIDEWALLS, AND OF THE 3 TIRES 1 HAD A BUBBLE THE SIZE AND SHAPE OF A FOOTBALL IN THE MIDDLE OF TREAD, I BELIEVE THEY WERE GOODYEAR TIRES 255/65/17. ALSO, THE WIRE INSIDE OF THE TIRE COULD BE SEEN ON ANOTHER PART OF THE TREAD, WHICH THERE WASN'T MUCH OF. 27,000 MILES ON VEHICLE, BOUGHT USED LESS THAN 1MO AGO. PUT SPARE TIRE ON THE WORST ONE, TOOK BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND FORD REPLACED ALL 4 TIRES SINCE THE OTHER ONE WAS DIFFERENT MAKE AND WRONG SIZE. COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUS ACCIDENT INVOLVING TIRES IF TRAVELED 1,000 MILES WITH FAMILY WHEN ATTENDED GRANDMOTHERS FUNERAL. *TR
TRUCK BRAKE PEDAL WOULD NOT PRESS AND THE TRUCK HAD VERY LITTLE BRAKES, THIS OCCURRED DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WITH NO WARNING, TAKEN TO THE FORD DEALER AND WAS TOLD A VACUUM HOSE WAS FAULTY SUPPOSED TO BE REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY, LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT INVOLVED. *TR
UPON STARTING OF THE VEHICLE THERE WAS A LOUD POP FOLLOWED BY SMOKE ENTERING THE CAB THROUGH VENTS AND THEN COMPLETE LOSS OF BRAKES, DEALER SAID IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. THE BRAKES FAILED WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING IN REVERSE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VACUUM LINE TO THE BOOSTER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE SPEED WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,111 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,050.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP AT 30 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT A VACUUM HOSE CAME LOOSE. THE REPAIR WOULD COST $162. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,999 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 42,000. UPDATED
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VACUUM HOSE SLIPPED OFF, WHICH RESULTED IN A TOTAL LOSS OF BRAKES. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, SHE ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE HOSE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE DEALER. THE PURCHASE DATE AND TRANSMISSION TYPE WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 22,950.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER VEHICLE WOULD NOT START ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AT LEAST THREE TIMES FOR THE FAILURE. AFTER THE MOST RECENT FAILURE, THE DEALER CHANGED THE STARTER AND THE FAILURE APPEARED TO BE REMEDIED. IN ADDITION, WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE BRAKES EXTENDED TO THE FLOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY DISCOVERED THAT THE SEAL FAILED IN THE MASTER CYLINDER. THE DEALER REPLACED THE SEALS IN ORDER TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. SHORTLY AFTERWARDS, THE BRAKES BEGAN TO EMIT A RED, GREASY SUBSTANCE ON THE WHEEL. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY DID NOT WANT TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT ALL THE BRAKES OPERATED IN THAT MANNER, BUT THE CONTACT DISAGREED BY STATING THAT THE REAR BRAKES DID NOT. THE DEALER FINALLY TOOK THE VEHICLE IN; HOWEVER, THEY ONLY WASHED OFF THE GREASE. THE CONTACT RETRIEVED THE VEHICLE AND THE BRAKES EXTENDED TO THE FLOOR AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER TOOK THE CONTACT'S INFORMATION, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. MOST RECENTLY, SHE HEARD A NOISE FROM THE BRAKES WHEN DRIVING IN REVERSE AND BRAKING. THE NOISE WAS DESCRIBED AS A CRACKING SOUND. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 14,380 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 12,000.
2006 FORD F150 STX. CONSUMER STATES AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY UPON COLLISION *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED HE LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WHEN HE HIT A PATCH OF ICE AND CRASHED INTO A TELEPHONE POLE, SNAPPING IT IN HALF. THE CONSUMERS HEAD STRUCK THE SIDE CABIN ENTRANCE HANDLE CAUSING INJURY, DUE TO THE AIR BAGS NOT DEPLOYING. SPARK PLUG BROKE INSIDE OF ENGINE WHILE REPLACING. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION I FOUND THAT THIS IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM THAT FORD HAS REFUSED TO RECALL EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE CHANGED MECHANICAL PROCEDURES FOR REPLACING PLUGS AT THE DEALERSHIP. I AM NOW STUCK WITH A BIG BILL BECAUSE FAULTY MANUFACTURING. *TR
THE TRUCK WAS PURCHASED OCT, 2006. JUNE, 2007 UPON APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION I MOVED MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR TO THE BRAKE. THE ENGINE DID NOT DECELERATE FOR APPROX. 2 SEC. JULY, 2007 WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH I MOVED MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR TO THE BRAKE TO SLOW FOR A LEFT TURN. THE TRUCK WOULD NOT DECELERATE FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 SEC. THE TRUCK REVVED TO APPROX. 5000 RPMS. AS I TOOK THE DITCH, THE ACCELERATION STOPPED. NOV, 2007 I STARTED MY TRUCK IN THE DRIVEWAY. AS SOON AS I SHIFTED INTO DRIVE THE TRUCK REVVED TO APPROX. 5000 RPMS. I STOOD ON THE BRAKE AS AS THE BACK RIGHT TIRE SQUEALED, LEAVING BLACK TREAD MARKS IN MY DRIVE. I SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL. THE ACCELERATION DID NOT STOP. I TURNED THE TRUCK OFF. WHEN I RESTARTED THE TRUCK IT IDLED NORMALLY. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY, CLAIMING THAT SHOULD RESOLVE THE ISSUE. DEC, 2007 WHILE IN BUSY TRAFFIC IN THE RAIN AND DRIVING THROUGH A BUSY INTERSECTION, I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR TO BRAKE. THE TRUCK REVVED TO APPROX. 6000 RPMS, NEARLY REAR ENDING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND THE ACCELERATION STOPPED. I WENT BACK TO THE DEALER. THE SERVICE MANAGER DROVE IT FOR A WEEK AND FOUND NOTHING. IT WAS RETURNED TO US WITH A BLACK BOX INSTALLED CALLED A "FLIGHT RECORDER". WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO PRESS THE BUTTON ON THE DEVICE AT THE NEXT OCCURRENCE TO CAPTURE DATA TO "PROVE" THE PROBLEM. THE FIFTH INCIDENT OCCURRED AGAIN IN MY DRIVEWAY FEB 2, 2008. AS I SHIFTED INTO DRIVE THE TRUCK REVVED TO APPROX. 6000 RPMS. I STOOD ON THE BRAKE AS THE BACK RIGHT TIRE SQUEALED, LEAVING TREAD MARKS ON THE DRIVE. I PRESSED THE BUTTON ON THE FLIGHT RECORDER AND SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL. THE ACCELERATION STOPPED AND I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER. AFTER A WEEKS TIME AND INSPECTION BY A COMPANY ENGINEER, WE WERE ADVISED THE CAPTURED INFORMATION HAD BEEN LOST AND THAT THE ENGINEER BELIEVED I WAS ACCIDENTALLY STANDING ON THE ACCELERATOR IN LIEU OF THE BRAKE. *TR
DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW WILL NOT GO UP ABOUT 75% OF THE TIME. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO A FORD DEALER TO BE CHECKED AND THEY SAID THE ELECTRICAL BOX IN THE DOOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. WHEN THE GENTLEMAN WENT TO CHECK THE PRICE FOR THE PART HE SAID HE COULD NOT ORDER IT BECAUSE THEY WERE OUT OF STOCK DUE TO THE HIGH DEMAND FOR THE PART. HE ALSO STATED THAT SINCE THE PART WAS UNAVAILABLE IT LEAD HIM TO BELIEVE THERE IS A BIG PROBLEM WITH WINDOWS RIGHT NOW. PERSONALLY, I KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM BECAUSE I KNOW THREE OTHER PEOPLE WHO OWN FORDS AND THEY HAVE PROBLEMS TOO. MY MOTHER-IN-LAW HAS A FORD EXPLORER WHICH HAD THE SAME PROBLEM TWO YEARS AGO, THANKFULLY SHE WAS ABLE TO GET IT FIXED THROUGH A RECALL. WE FEEL THAT A VEHICLE THAT IS TWO YEARS OLD SHOULD NOT BE HAVING SUCH A PROBLEM. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM FOR ALL FORD VEHICLES, NOT JUST THE F150, AND YOU WILL SEE A HUGE PROBLEM. WE FEEL IT IS TIME FOR A RECALL. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F150. WHILE MAKING A TURN AT 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE SLID FORWARD. THE MOMENTUM OF THE VEHICLE PUSHED FORWARD, BUT THE FRONT WHEEL LOCKED UP AND PREVENTED IT FROM TURNING. THE DEALER STATED THAT THIS WAS A NORMAL OCCURRENCE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 23,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,500. UPDATED 02-14-08. *KB
EMISSIONS LIGHT DISPLAYS: 2006 F150 LOOSES POWER, WILL NOT ACCELERATE, STALLS WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC (CREATING A TRAFFIC HAZARD), POPS (BACKFIRES) WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE. HAVE TO TOTALLY STOP TRUCK, TURN OFF IGNITION, WAIT A FEW MINUTES, RESTART AND PROCEED. SOMETIMES HAVE TO REPEAT THIS SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING TO DESTINATION. HAD TRUCK HOOKED TO DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER, MECHANIC SAID THERE "WAS" A PROBLEM, BUT IT CLEARED ITSELF....CHARGED ME FOR COMPUTER USE. HE SAID TO COME BACK IN WHEN TRUCK WAS "MISBEHAVING" AGAIN. IT DOES IT SPORADICALLY, EXPLAINED THIS TO MECHANIC. EMISSIONS LIGHT COMES ON AND GOES OUT SPORADICALLY AS WELL. *TR
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER COMPLETELY FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. BROUGHT TO TWO DEALERSHIPS WHO ADVISED THAT PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE DUE TO NATIONWIDE ISSUE AND OFFERED NO ETA ON PART AVAILABILITY. ADVISED NOT TO DRIVE VEHICLE. COMPANY TRUCK IS ONLY SLIGHTLY OVER ONE YEAR OLD (10 DAYS) AND IS STILL UNDER DEALER WARRANTLY. SPOKE WITH NATIONWIDE CUSTOMER REPRESENTATIVES WHO HAVE DENIED PROBLEM WITH CLUSTER EXISTS DESPITE ORDER BACKLOG AND HAVE BEEN TOLD NOTHING CAN BE DONE. SPOKE WITH MANUFACTURER(ELECTRA-SOUND) WHO ADVISED PART NOT MADE FOR MONTHS AND NO ETA ON WHEN MANUFACTURING WILL BEGIN. NO RESOLUTION FROM FORD. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F150. THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ACTIVATED AT 35 MPH. THE VEHICLE SPED UP 1 MPH EVERY TIME THE COAST WAS APPLIED. THE COAST WAS SUPPOSED TO SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY A DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,500 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 44,000. UPDATED 04/03/08. *LJ THE HORN WAS INOPERATIVE AS WELL.
WHILE DRIVING 40MPH POWER BRAKES FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. I WAS ABLE TO STOP & PULL OVER WITH COMBINATION OF E BRAKE AND COASTING. FORTUNATELY THIS HAPPENED ON A SIDE STREET WITH ONLY LIGHT TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FORD DEALER WHO DETERMINED THAT A VACUUM BOOST HOSE WAS DETACHED FROM THE MANIFOLD. THE DEALER REPLACED THE HOSE AND ADDED A CLAMP TO THE CONNECTION. *TR
BRAKES WORKED FINE UPON ARRIVING AT STORE. UPON LEAVING PARKING LOT AS I APPROACHED STREET, I APPLIED BRAKES TO LEARN THAT THE VEHICLE HAD NO BRAKES. I PRESSED THE BRAKES VERY HARD AND WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY STOP. I WAS PROBABLY TRAVELING AT LESS THAN 5-10 MPH LEAVING PARKING. I CHECKED BRAKE FLUID AND ANY ENGINE CODES, ALL WERE NORMAL. I PROCEEDED TO THE HOUSE CAREFULLY ALLOWING FOR MAXIMUM DISTANCE. BY PRESSING VERY HARD ON BRAKE PEDAL, I WAS ABLE GRADUALLY COME TO A STOP. ON MONDAY, 11/19/2007, I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP. THE VEHICLE THIS MORNING HAD A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT VISIBLE. THE TROUBLE WAS QUICKLY DIAGNOSE BY SERVICE MECHANIC AS A BROKEN VACUUM LINE BEHIND THE ENGINE. THE SMALL COUNTRY DEALERSHIP RELATED THAT THEY REPLACED THE SAME LINE ON A SIMILAR VEHICLE THE WEEK BEFORE. THE DEALERSHIP WAS IN SOUTHEAST GEORGIA AND THE NEAREST PART WAS IN MEMPHIS, TN AND WOULD TAKE 2 DAYS TO ARRIVE. PLUS, THE MANIFOLD AND OTHER PARTS HAD TO BE REMOVED TO GET TO LINE. IT TOOK SOME 6 HOURS OF LABOR TO REPLACE. THE PARTS AND LABOR WAS $767.80 AND THE RENTAL CAR WAS $112.19. THE SERVICE ON THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETED IN THE AFTERNOON OF 11/21/2007. THE MILEAGE ON THE TRUCK WAS 43996 MILES WHEN TAKEN IN FOR SERVICE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 50-70 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO SHAKE. THE DEALER RECOMMENDED THAT THE TIRES BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT CHANGED THE TIRES, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. HE FEELS THAT THE VEHICLE IS VERY UNSAFE AND DIFFICULT TO DRIVE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 29,190 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000. UPDATED 01/05/2009 LJ THE CONSUMER STATED OVER THE PAST 5 MONTHS HE HAS EXPERIENCED AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH A SHAKING AND SHIMMY OF THE VEHICLE AT SPEEDS OF 50 MPH. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD F-150. WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE BACKFIRED. THE VEHICLE FINALLY STARTED, AND WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO BACK UP THE VEHICLE, HE REALIZED THAT THE POWER BRAKES FAILED. HE STRUCK A VEHICLE PARKED BEHIND HIM. THE BRAKES WERE EXTREMELY HEAVY AND THERE WAS NO POWER ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE. THE CONTACT FILED A CONSUMER REVIEW REQUEST WITH THE DEALER TO APPLY FOR AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT HIS REQUEST WAS DENIED. ACCELERATION WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES. THIS HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIME THE MOST RECENT BEING TODAY. I ALMOST RAN INTO A BUILDING PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE. THE TIME BEFORE WAS AT A RED LIGHT, NO ONE WAS IN FRONT OF ME AND THE TIME BEFORE THAT I WAS HAULING AN ANTIQUE CAR ON A TRAILER WITH TRAILER BRAKES THAT ACTUALLY KEPT ME FROM HITTING ANYONE WHEN THE TRUCK BRAKES CAUSED AN ACCELERATION. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS TRUCK. I ALSO HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL PUMP POURING FUEL OUT OF THE TRUCK ONTO THE EXHAUST SYSTEM.
ON AUGUST 26, 2007 I WAS TRAVELING EAST ON HIGHWAY 190 BETWEEN KEMPNER, TX AND COPPERAS COVE, TX AT ABOUT 10:30 A.M. IN A 2006 FORD F-150 SUPER CREW WITH ABOUT 25,000 MILES ON IT. ROAD CONDITIONS WERE DRY AND THE ROADWAY WAS RECENTLY REDONE. MY SPEED WAS ABOUT 65 MPH IN A 70 ZONE. FOR NO REASONS THAT I CAN DETERMINE THE RIGHT REAR TIRE RAPIDLY DEFLATED. I MANAGED TO KEEP THE VEHICLE UNDER CONTROL AND PULLED ONTO THE SHOULDER. THE TIRE WAS DESTROYED WITH EVIDENT DAMAGE TO THE OUTER SIDEWALL. I PUT THE SPARE TIRE ON AND CONTINUED. MONDAY, 27 AUGUST I VISITED AUTOMAX FORD AND ASKED THEM TO REPLACE ALL THE TIRES ON THE VEHICLE. THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT TIRE DEFECTS WERE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MANUFACTURER. I MADE THE DECISION AT THAT TIME TO REPLACE ALL THE TIRES WITH ANOTHER BRAND. *JB
I PURCHASED A NEW 2006 FORD F150 FROM A LOCAL FORD DEALER IN HUNTSVILLE, TX. AFTER PICKING UP THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING HOME IT WAS VERY AN APPARENT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TIRES, THE VEHICLE HAD AN EXTREME VIBRATION. I RETURNED TO THE DEALER, REPORTED THE PROBLEM AND REQUESTED THEM TO ADDRESS IT, THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEE EXPLAINED THAT THE TRUCK HAD SET ON THE CAR LOT FOR SOME TIME AND THE TIRES GET FLAT SPOTS AND THIS IS THE PROBLEM, SHE TOLD ME TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND THE PROBLEM WOULD GO AWAY. THIS VEHICLE WAS JUST DRIVEN OVER 160 MILES (FROM AUSTIN, TEXAS TO HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, AS IT WAS A DEALER SWAP, IN ORDER TO GET A VEHICLE WITH THE SPECS I HAD REQUESTED), BEFORE I TOOK POSSESSION OF THE VEHICLE. I HAD DRIVEN THE VEHICLE OVER 100 MILES BEFORE RETURNING TO THE DEALER TO REQUEST THIS PROBLEM BE CORRECTED, AFTER TALKING TO THEIR SERVICE PERSON, I PUT MORE MILES ON THE VEHICLE, THE VIBRATION STILL EXIST, WENT BACK TO THE HUNTSVILLE FORD DEALER SERVICE DEPT, AGAIN REQUESTED THE ROTATE AND BALANCE THE TIRES, LEFT THE VEHICLE FOR REPAIRS, MY RIDE HOME WAS NOT MUCH BETTER, STILL A VIBRATION, LATE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER, THEY TOLD ME TO DRIVE IT AND IT WILL GET BETTER, SO I DROVE IT 34,000 MILES, NO CHANGE IN THE VIBRATION, HE ONLY CHANGE WAS A VERY UNEVEN WARE IN THE TIRES. WENT BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY CAME UP WITH ALL KINDS OF REASONS WHY THEY ARE NOT LIABLE. I STILL HAVE THESE TIRES IN THE SHED BEHIND MY HOME, REMOVED AND REPLACED THEM WITH BF GOODRICH TIRES; THIS RESOLVED THE PROBLEM OF VIBRATION. NOW 15 MONTHS LATER THE NOISE IS BACK AND THEY SAID THEIR PARTS AND LABOR WARRANTY IS ONLY GOOD FOR 12 MONTHS. I KNOW OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAD THE SAME PROBLEM BUT THEY SAID THERE IS NO RECALL. I OWN A 2006 FORD F-150 SUPERCREW 4X4. IT HAS ABOUT 90,000 MILES ON IT. MY MOTOR HAS KNOCKED SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE.
