POOR BRAKING--I'M NOT ALWAYS SURE IF MY TRUCK WILL STOP OR NOT---I'VE PUT NEW BRAKES ON EVERY YEAR THEY ALL FEEL GOOD FOR ACOUPLE MONTHS THEN IT STARTS TAKING LONGER AND LONGER TO STOP EVEN WHEN I BUY OFF BRAND AND EITHER DRILLED AND SLOTTED OR WHAT EVER THEY JUST DON'T STOP THIS TRUCK WELL--HELP.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-150. WHILE APPROACHING A STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE SPONTANEOUSLY SWAYED FORWARD THEN CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. AFTER APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL THE RPMS INCREASED, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND CAUSED THE DRIVER TO CRASH INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THERE WAS MODERATE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. WHILE DRIVING IN REVERSE, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS PRIOR TO THE FAILURES. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT IS WAITING FOR A RESPONSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 10,031.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-150. SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, IT HAS EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE FAILURES. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CHARGER INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, WHICH MEANT THAT THE TURBO CHARGER WAS FAILING. WHEN THE INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED, THE VEHICLE WOULD SLOW DOWN AND PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM ACCELERATING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, BUT THEY FOUND NO FAILURES WITH THE TURBO CHARGER. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, THE FAILURE RECURRED AND WHITE SMOKE APPEARED FROM THE TAIL PIPE AGAIN. THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY FAILED AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT A SENSOR FAILED. THE SENSOR WAS REPLACED. FOUR MONTHS LATER, THE CONTACT NOTICED WATER LEAKING UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE RADIATOR FAILED. THE RADIATOR WAS REPLACED. A WEEK LATER, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE TURBO CHARGER TUBING FAILED AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE TURBO TUBING FAILED. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE ISSUE. RECENTLY, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, WHITE SMOKE APPEARED AGAIN FROM THE TAIL PIPE AND THE VEHICLE DECELERATED. DIESEL FUEL WAS DISCOVERED LEAKING FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT IS WAITING TO BE INSPECTED BY FORD ENGINEERS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WERE UNSURE OF WHAT REPAIRS WERE NEEDED AT THIS TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE OWNER IS ATTEMPTING TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-150. THE ACCELERATED PEDAL WAS TOO LARGE FOR THE FLOOR-BOARD IN THE VEHICLE. CONSEQUENTLY DURING BRAKE APPLICATION, HE ACCIDENTALLY APPLIES PRESSURE ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE FORD MANUFACTURER NOR THE DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,373. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STARTED THE VEHICLE AND DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, BUT BOTH THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR PEDALS BECAME STUCK. THE VEHICLE SURGED BACKWARDS AND STRUCK THE BUMPER OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. THE POLICE WAS CALLED TO THE SCENE AND FILED A REPORT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND A DIAGNOSTIC WAS PERFORMED, BUT NO FAILURES WERE FOUND. THE VIN AND SPEED WERE UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,600 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 7,600.
TOOK DELIVERY OF 2008 FORD F-150 LARIAT CREW CAB 4X4 ON 4/23/08. YESTERDAY 4/29/08 I WAS PREPARING TO PULL INTO A PARKING LOT FROM A TWO LANE HIGHWAY AND THE TRUCK SPONTANEOUSLY ACCELERATED AT FULL THROTTLE WITH MY FOOT FIRMLY ON THE BRAKE. I HAD THE SENSATION THAT I WAS HIT FROM BEHIND BECAUSE I WAS ADVANCING WITHOUT APPLYING THE ACCELERATOR. WITH THE BRAKES FULLY APPLIED I CONTINUED TO ADVANCE INTO THE PARKING LOT AND I IMMEDIATELY SHIFTED INTO PARK IN ATTEMPT TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP AND THE ENGINE WAS RACING AT FULL THROTTLE IN PARK, I THEN TURNED THE IGNITION OFF AND THE ENGINE STOPPED. FROM THE TIME I EXPERIENCED THE SENSATION OF BEING HIT FROM BEHIND UNTIL THE VEHICLE CAME TO REST, I ESTIMATE THE DISTANCE OF TRAVEL AT 50 FEET. THERE WERE TWO PASSENGERS IN THE TRUCK WITH ME THAT WITNESSED THE EVENT AND CONCURRED THAT THE TRUCK HAD ACCELERATED SPONTANEOUSLY. I BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER, EXPLAINED THE EXPERIENCE AND AFTER CHECKING IT OUT INFORMED ME THAT NO PROBLEM COULD BE FOUND. I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN AGAIN AND THE POTENTIAL CONSEQUENCES COULD BE CATASTROPHIC. *TR
I THINK IT A CRIME THAT FORDS PUT TOWING WEIGHTS ON THEIR WEB SITES AND IN BOOKLETS AND IT IS FALSE. WE BOUGHT FORD 150 IN MARCH SO THAT WE COULD TOW OUR 32"'TRAVEL TRAILER THAT WEIGHS 7,000 LBS. ALL DOCUMENTATION STATES IT CAN PULL 9,000 LBS. WE HAVE PULLED OUR UNIT 3 TIMES AND EVERYTIME WE PRAY THAT WE MAKE IT TO OUR DESTINATION AND HOME SAFELY. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHO RATES THESE VEHICLES TOWING CAPACITY. OUR NEW TRUCK STRUGGLES AND SWAYS SO BAD. WE HAVE A SWAY BAR TOO. I AM GOING TO GO AS FAR AS I CAN TO PREVENT ANY OTHER POOR SOLE FROM EXPERIENCING WHAT WE ARE EXPERIENCING. AS THE HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY I WOULD BE CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT IS TOWING WHAT OUT THERE. WE HAVE HAD NO ACCIDENT OR DEATHS YET BUT I WILL BE KEEPING COPIES OF EVERYTHING I SEND SO IF I DO DIE PULLING THIS TRAILER, I HAVE ADVISED MY CHILDREN TO FIGHT FOR OTHER PEOPLE. WE PAY ALOT OF MONEY A MONTH JUST TO TOW THIS TRAILER AND THE DARN TRUCK WON'T TOW IT, BUT ALL DOCUMENTATION SAYS IT SHOULD. MAYBE IT IS JUST US, BUT MY HUSBAND IS NOT A FEARFUL PERSON WHAT SO EVER AND TOWING THIS TRAILER DOES CAUSE SOME FEAR. *TR
MOONROOF VIBRATES IN THE OPEN POSITION CREATING A LOUD ECHO NOISE IN THE CABIN OF VEHICLE. LOUD ENOUGH TO DISTRACT DRIVER AT SPEED. FORD STATES THIS IS WITHIN NORM OF OPERATION. *TR
I HAVE A 2008 FORD F-150 SUPERCREW WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION THAT I BOUGHT BRAND NEW AND IT HAS ABOUT 4,000 MILES ON IT NOW. THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT PROPERLY ALL THE TIME. ON ABOUT 12 TO 15 OCCASIONS THE TRANSMISSION HAS SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL WHEN I AM TRAVELING BETWEEN 15 TO 30 MILES AN HOUR. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS INTO NEUTRAL WHEN I LET OFF THE GAS PEDAL AND I AM COASTING AROUND A CURVE, DOWN A HILL, OR AROUND AN ON OR OFF RAMP, WHILE COASTING AT A SPEED BETWEEN 15 TO 30 MILES PER HOUR. AFTER COASTING FOR A FEW SECONDS AND I ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE IS WHEN I REALIZE THE TRUCK IS IN NEUTRAL BECAUSE THE RPMS GO UP AND THE TRUCK DOES NOT ACCELERATE. AFTER I LET OFF THE GAS PEDAL THE TRUCK WILL THEN SLAM INTO GEAR. I HAVE TAKEN MY FORD BACK TO THE DEALER TWO TIMES TO HAVE IT FIXED AND THEY SAY THEY CAN NOT FIX IT BECAUSE IT DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME. THEY TOLD ME TO DRIVE IT UNTIL IT GETS WORSE AND THEN BRING IT BACK. I DID NOT REALIZE JUST HOW MUCH DANGER THEY WERE PUTTING ME IN UNTIL APRIL 1, 2008 BECAUSE THE TRUCK HAD NOT EVER SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL WHILE I WAS COASTING AROUND AN OFF RAMP AND ATTEMPTING TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC. ON APRIL 1ST I WAS TRAVELING AROUND AN OFF RAMP FROM A MAJOR HIGHWAY TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC ON A MAJOR INTERSTATE AND WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE AND MERGE INTO TRAFFIC AND TO MY SURPRISE THE TRUCK WAS IN NEUTRAL. A CAR ALMOST RAN INTO THE BACK OF MY TRUCK BEFORE MY TRUCK SLAMMED INTO GEAR AND I WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE. I WAS ALMOST INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE THIS BRAND NEW TRUCK DOES NOT SHIFT PROPERLY AND FORD DOES NOT THINK IT IS IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO INVESTIGATE MORE AND TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAVE REPORTED IT TO FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONS CENTER AND THEY SAY THEY CAN NOT FIX IT UNTIL IT HAPPENS MORE FREQUENTLY AND THEN THEY CAN DUPLICATE THE OCCURRENCE. THE TRUCK IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND COULD CAUSE ME OR MY WIFE AND CHILDREN TO BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. *TR
RE: 2008 FORD F-150 I PICKED UP A NEW FORD F-150 YESTERDAY AND HAD AN EVENT OCCUR WHILE SLOWING IN PREPARATION FOR STOPPING BEHIND A LINE OF STOPPED VEHICLES AT A RED TRAFFIC SIGNAL. INSTEAD OF SLOWING THE VEHICLE WHEN THE BRAKE WAS GENTLY APPLIED, THE VEHICLE ACTED LIKE IT WAS ON A SHEET OF ICE. I COULD "FEEL" THE ABS BRAKES TRYING TO STOP THE VEHICLE, BUT IT SEEMED TO BE ACCELERATING ON IT'S OWN. I BARELY MISSED THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME AND A LIGHT POLE NEAR THE EDGE OF THE ROAD, SINCE I HAD TO STEER OFF OF THE ROAD AND ONTO THE SIDEWALK AREA WHERE I IMMEDIATELY PUT THE TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL AND TURNED OFF THE IGNITION. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SENT A MECHANIC WHO RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE SERVICE AREA AND CHECKED ALL OF THE SYSTEMS. THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS FOUND AND THAT I MUST HAVE APPLIED THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR AT THE SAME TIME. I ABSOLUTELY DID NOT DO THAT. I TRIED TO APPLY THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR SIMULTANEOUSLY AFTER RETURNING HOME, AND IT IS POSSIBLE, BUT VERY DIFFICULT AND UNCOMFORTABLE TO DO. I HAVE FOUND OTHER DOCUMENTED CASES OF THE SAME PROBLEM WITH OTHER F-150S. I HAD USED THE BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE SAFELY SEVERAL OTHER TIMES BEFORE THIS INCIDENT. THE ODOMETER READ ONLY 10.4 MILES WHEN THE EVENT OCCURRED. THE CRUISE CONTROL FEATURE WAS NOT ENABLED WHEN THE EVENT OCCURRED. *TR
TRITON 5.4L V-8 ENGINE WAS REPLACED AFTER ONLY 1,218 MILES. *TR
I OWN A 2008 FORD F150 WITH 12,000 MILES. BOUGHT THE TRUCK BRAND NEW IN FEB 08. WITH ONLY 453 MILES ON THE TRUCK I NOTICED MANY PAINT DEFECTS : THE PAINT UNDER THE HOOD WAS BLISTERING OFF, THE PAINT ON THE PILLAR BEHIND THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR DOOR WAS MESSED UP, FORD FIXED THESE ISSUES THEN SHORTLY AFTER THAT I HAD MORE BLISTERING PAINT UNDER THE HOOD AND A HAZE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT FENDER. THEN ONE DAY AS I AM WASHING THE TRUCK I NOTICE THE PAINT IS BUBBLING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DOORS. *TR
MY VEHICLE IS A 2008 FORD F-150 SUPERCREW. THIS HAS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. AFTER ABOUT 1000 MILES I NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE APPEARED TO STALL WHEN ACCELERATING UPHIILL (CHANGING GEARS) AND THAT THE RPM'S WOULD REV DURING CITY DRIVING. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT AND I HAD TO GO TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SEVERAL TIMES TO ATTEMPT TO PROVE THE ISSUE EXIST. AFTER IT WAS DISCOVERED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TORE DOWN THE TRANSMISSION AND REPLACED PARTS AND THIS DID NOT RESOLVE IT. A MONTH LATER FORD ACKNOWLEDGED THE ISSUE EXISTED AND AS DEALERS TO HOLD OFF ON REPAIR ATTEMPTS UNTIL ENGINEERING DID MRE RESEARCH. I HAVE A COPY OF THIS FROM THE OASIS ON MY VEHICLE. A MONTH LATER THE ATTEMPTED A DOWNLOAD OF INFORMATION TO UNIT. THIS IMPROVED THE PERFORMANCE OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER ABOUT 5 MONTHS THE ISSUES SLOWLY STARTED TO SHOW THEMSELVES AGAIN. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH SEVERAL PEOPLE TO GET THIS RESOLVED. EACH TIME I HAVE GONE TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR CODES AND THE PROBLEM IS NOT PRODUCING ANY CODES. I AM ONCE AGAIN AT THIS TIME TAKING MY VEHICLE IN REPEATEDLY AND HOPING THAT ON THAT DAY SOMEONE WILL EXPERIENCE THE SAME THINGS WHICH I AM SPEAKING OF, JUST LIKE THEY DID IN THE BEGINNING OF THIS PROBLEM. *TR
WE BOUGHT OUR F150 5.4 IN JULY OF 2008. IN LATE AUGUST I NOTICED A SLIGHT VIBRATION UNDER MY FEET. THE VIBRATION CONTINUED TO GET WORSE. I HAVE TAKEN THE TRUCK TO A MY FORD DEALERSHIP FOR ALL MAINTENANCE AND EACH TIME I HAVE REPORTED THE VIBRATION. IN JULY OF 2011 I REPLACED THE TIRES AFTER THEY STATED IT WAS THE TIRES. THAT DID NOTHING TO FIX THE VIBRATION. THEY HAVE CONTINUED TO ROTATE AND BALANCE THE TIRES BUT I STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM. WHICH IS WEARING OUT MY TIRES. I OVERHEARD THE MECHANIC TALKING TO THE MGR. OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HE TOLD HIM TO BILL IT AS A RECALL BUT THE PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED. ALSO IN APRIL THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS THAT IT MAY TAKE WEEKS TO FIND IT AT MY COST BECAUSE FORD WOULD PROBLEM NOT PAY FOR IT. I DON'T THINK THIS IS FARE. IT WAS A BRAND NEW TRUCK. WHAT IF SOMETHING BREAKS WHILE I'M DRIVING 50 MPH IN THE TRAFFIC. *TR
2008 FORD F150 LARIAT W/AUTO TEMP CONTROL. AUTO TEMP CONTROL DOES NOT CONTROL TEMPERATURE AS SET, BLOWS CONSTANT HOT AIR AND ON OCCASION BLOWS HOT AND COLD AIR INTERMITTENTLY. DOES NOT CONTROL TEMPERATURE AS SET BY ATC DISPLAY. HAVE HAD THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER 3 DIFFERENT TIMES. FIRST TWO TRIPS THE DEALER SAID IT WAS WORKING AS INTENDED, MILEAGE WAS 157 THE FIRST TIME, AND 2052 MILE THE SECOND TRIP. ON MY THIRD TRIP AT 5466 MILES I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS AN OASIS BULLETIN SPECIAL SERVICE MESSAGE #20422 ISSUED ON 09/06/2008 COVERING MY PROBLEM. ACCORDING TO THE MESSAGE THE CAUSE WAS THE BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR. IT ALSO STATES TO NOT MAKE ANY REPAIRS AT THIS TIME AS PARTS ARE DUE IN MID-OCTOBER, NO PARTS AS OF 11/11/08. THIS DEFECT IS SUPPOSED TO BE ON 2006 - 2008 F150 LINCOLN MARK TRUCKS. *TR
WE BOUGHT THIS TRUCK BRAND NEW IN FEBRUARY 2008 AND THE AIR CONDITIONER DOES NOT BLOW COLD AT IDLE. IT WILL BLOW APPROXIMATELY 70 DEGREES OUT OF THE VENTS ON A 90 DEGREE DAY. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO 2 DIFFERENT DEALERS AND BOTH CHECKED AND TEST DROVE THE TRUCK, ONLY TO ADVISE "THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT" IT IS BLOWING COLD ENOUGH ACCORDING TO THEM ON MAX A/C GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, SO THEIR SUGGESTION WAS TO NOT CHANGE IT FROM MAX A/C. *TR

THE FAILURE CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SURGE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO STOP. THE DEALER STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS UNABLE TO ASSIST. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,499 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN WOULD NOT RAISE UP OR DOWN. THE STEERING COLUMN WAS REPLACED, BUT THE TILT FEATURE ON THE STEERING WHEEL STILL WOULD NOT WORK. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO RECEIVE THE PARTS FOR THE REMEDY AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS.
