PICKUP DOES NOT HAVE BRAKES DURING INITIAL COLD START UP. THE BRAKE PEDAL IS HARD AS A ROCK AND WILL NOT STOP TRUCK. CAN NOT PARK IN GARAGE AS MAY HIT HOUSE OR GARAGE OR KIDS WHEN BACKING OUT. DEALER WILL DID NOT WARRANTY AS IT WAS OVER THE WARRANTY PERIOD BY APROX 1000 MILES AND 1 MONTH. *TR
THIS TRUCK AND OTHERS OF THE SAME DESIGN UP UNTIL 2013 HAVE A BAD ELECTRIC VACUUM ASSIST PUMP. MY PUMP MALFUNCTIONED AND WITHOUT ANY WARNING OR DASH LIGHTS THE TRUCK LOST BRAKE ASSIST RENDERING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO STOP. THE TURBOCHARGED V6 ECOBOOST REQUIRES VACUUM ASSIST AND THIS PUMP IS KNOWN FOR ISSUES. FORD HAS NO PARTS ON HAND AND PEOPLE ARE FORCED TO DRIVE DEATH TRAPS WITH NO BRAKES. FORD IS AWARE THERE IS A PROBLEM AND CHANGED THE 2014 MODEL HOWEVER PROVIDE ZERO SAFETY RELIEF FOR PREVIOUS OWNERS NOW STUCK WITH NO BRAKES AND NO PARTS. ONLY MY QUICK REFLEXES TAKING THE TRUCK OUT OF GEAR SAVED ME FROM DRIVING INTO MY HOME THROUGH MY GARAGE WALL. *TR
I WAS MERGING INTO TRAFFIC AFTER PICKING UP MY DAUGHTER FROM DAYCARE. I PRESSED DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR FIRMLY TO GAIN SPEED TO GET INTO TRAFFIC. MY TRUCK STALLED WITH A PINGING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE AND AN UNCHARACTERISTIC BLACK SMOKE POURING OUT OF THE EXHAUST PIPE. ONCOMING TRAFFIC HAD TO BRAKE TO AVOID HITTING MY TRUCK ON MY DAUGHTERS SIDE. THE TRUCK RECOVERED BUT ONLY GRADUALLY PICKED UP SPEED WITH VERY LITTLE POWER. IT WAS A LOW CONSTANT ACCELERATION. THIS IS THE 4TH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED WITH MY TRUCK BUT THIS TIME IT ENDANGERED MY DAUGHTER SO I FEEL THAT I NEED TO SPEAK OUT. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE MY 1.5 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER OR SOMEONE ELSE GETS HURT DUE TO FAULTY EQUIPMENT. *TR
SEVERE VIBRATION AND PULSING WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED. I PUT THE TRUCK ON MY LIFT AND TRIED TO ROTATE THE FRONT WHEELS, THERE WAS SEVERE BRAKE DRAG, WHICH MADE ROTATING THE FRONT WHEELS CLOSE TO IMPOSSIBLE. I REMOVED THE WHEELS AND DID A VISUAL INSPECTION AND FOUND THAT THE INNER BRAKE PADS WERE CONSIDERABLY MORE WORN THAN THE OUTER PADS. I THEN REMOVED THE CALIPERS AND FOUND THAT CORROSION OCCURRED BINDING THE INNER PADS TO THE BRAKE PAD HOLDERS. I LIVE IN THE NORTH EAST AND ROAD SALT IS USED IN THE WINTER MONTHS, THIS SHOULD BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION WHEN THE BRAKES ARE DESIGNED SO THAT THIS CORROSION CAN'T OCCUR. I CORRECTED THE PROBLEM BY RE-PLACING THE ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS, USING BRAKE LUBRICANT TO HELP PREVENT THE CORROSION. DOING THIS REPAIR CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. *TR
BRAKES ARE ROCK HARD IN THE MORNING AND VEHICLE IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STOP. CALLED LOCAL FORD DEALER AND AT FIRST DIDN'T ACKNOWLEDGE AN ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. CALLED THEM BACK IN A COUPLE WEEKS, SINCE THEY DIDN'T CALL ME BACK. THEY SAID I NEED A VACUUM PUMP WITHOUT EVER LOOKING AT THE VEHICLE. SAID THEY WOULD COVER THE REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY SINCE I WAS ABOUT 8 MONTHS PAST THE 3 YEARS, EVEN THOUGH I WAS UNDER THE 60,000 MILES. THEY QUOTED A COST OF OVER $700 DOLLARS TO FIX IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD 150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL AND ACCELERATOR PEDAL WERE TOO CLOSE TOGETHER. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT WAS CONSTANTLY DEPRESSING BOTH PEDALS AT THE SAME TIME AND ALMOST CAUSED A CRASH. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE DEFECT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 25,439. UPDATED 10/02/14
POWER STEERING BECAME INOPERABLE WITHOUT WARNING CAUSING VEHICLE TO BECOME DIFFICULT TO STEER OR CONTROL. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FORD DEALER WHERE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A FAILED STEERING RACK, RACK WAS REPLACED AND VEHICLE NOW OPERATES NORMALLY. THE SUDDEN POWER STEERING FAILURE COULD CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL AND A CRASH. *TR
WHILE DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY TRIED TO ACCELERATE TO PASS TRUCK VEHICLE LOST POWER AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. PULLED OFF ROAD AND SHUT THE VEHICLE DOWN AND THEN RESTARTED VEHICLE. LATER LOSS OF POWER ON ANY INCLINE THAT I APPROACHED. *TR
FRONT DOOR SPEAKERS STOP OR INTERMITTENTLY WORK.SOMETIMES IF YOU HIT IT IT WILL START TO WORK AGAIN. HAD THE ONE ON RIGHT REPLACED AND NOW THE ONE ON LEFT HAS STARTED TO ACTING UP. COULD BE A SAFETY HAZARD IF YOU TRY TO REACH DOWN AND HIT IT WHILE DRIVING.
LACK OF STEERING WHEEL RETURN ABILITY ON LEFT TURNS. MUST BE MANUALLY CORRECTED. *TR
I AM GLAD THAT WE WERE NOT IN A SITUATION THAT WE COULD HAVE GOTTEN KILLED BECAUSE OF THE THROTTLE PROBLEM. THE FIRST TIME WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 45 MPH SUDDENLY THE ACCELERATOR WOULD NOT RESPOND, THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING AT A ROUGH IDLE. WE HAD TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER. STOPPED TURNED OFF THE TRUCK, IT WAS ABLE TO RESTART AND THE ACCELERATOR WAS WORKING AGAIN. WE DROVE TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER. AT THE FORD DEALER THEY COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM. THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS WHEN WE WERE GOING 55 MPH. COASTED TO SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AND I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE TRUCK AND DROVE VERY CAREFULLY TO THE FORD DEALER. THIS TIME THEY WERE ABLE TO GET A CODE READING OF THE PROBLEM. THE CODE CALLED FOR A RECALIBRATION. THIS WAS DONE. DROVE THE TRUCK HOME THINKING THAT IT WAS REPAIRED. THE THIRD TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS ON THE INTERSTATE TRAVELING 75MPH. LUCKILY WE WERE IN THE RIGHT LANE AND WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER. REPEATED SAME PROCEDURE AS ABOVE. RETURNED TO THE FORD DEALER. THIS TIME THEY READ THE CODE(P2112) AND REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY AND MOTOR ASSEMBLY. THIS PROBLEM WITH THE THROTTLE COULD HAVE VERY EASILY CAUSED A DEADLY CRASH. I FEEL THAT MY WIFE AND ARE VERY LUCKY AS WE COULD HAVE BEEN IN A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *TR
VEHICLE HAS JUST OVER 40,000 MILES ALL HIGHWAY. VEHICLE IS 4WD. VEHICLE HAS NEVER TOWED, HAULED OR BEEN OFF ROAD. TOOK VEHICLE TO FORD DEALERSHIP TO HAVE A/C SERVICED (WHICH WAS NOTED HAVING PROBLEMS DURING WARRANTY, BUT TECHS NEVER FOUND ISSUE NOR RAN DIAGNOSTICS) DURING THE DIAGNOSTICS THE SERVICE TECH STATED THERE WAS A NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING GEAR. *NOTE THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN OUT OF OWNER'S POSSESSION AND AT THE DEALERSHIP AWAITING A/C SERVICE FOR 4 DAYS. OWNER STATED THAT THERE HAD BEEN NO STEERING ISSUES OR WARNINGS DISPLAYED IN THE VEHICLE AND HAD BEEN OPERATING WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. DEALERSHIP STATES THAT WHEN THEY FINISHED THE A/C SERVICE THAT THE STEERING CEASED UPON BACKING THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE SERVICE AREA. OWNER ASKED WHY THE STEERING GEAR IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE DRIVE TRAIN WARRANTY. THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT THIS ISSUE IS A COMMON ISSUE THAT IS BEING ENCOUNTERED WITH THE NEW FORD EPAS SYSTEM AND IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE DRIVETRAIN WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE'S LOW MILEAGE. OWNER REQUESTING THAT FORD PAY FOR REPLACEMENT DUE TO IT BEING COMMONLY DEFECTIVE. VEHICLE STILL IN DEALERSHIP'S POSSESSION. *JS
WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE NEED TO ACCELERATE TO PASS A MUCH SLOWER VEHICLE MY TRUCK LOST ALL POWER AND BEGAN SHUDDERING VERY BAD. WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC APPROACHING QUICKLY I HAD TO STEP ON THE BRAKES RATHER HARD AND QUICK TO AVOID A ACCIDENT. WHAT WOULD HAVE POSSIBLY HAPPENED IF I WAS TOWING A LEGAL BUT HEAVY LOAD? FORD HAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE COILS ON THE ECOBOOST AND THIS TRULY NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. THIS IS A EXTREMELY SERIOUS TRAFFIC SAFETY WHEN YOU LOOSE ALL POWER AND THE SEVERITY OF THE SHUDDER THAT ALSO OCCURS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE ASSEMBLY FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000.
THE TRUCK IS NEW TO ME AND WILL MISS IN CASES OF ACCELERATION ON THE HIGHWAY OR GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY. IF IT WERE A SMALLER VEHICLE, I KNOW I WOULD HAVE BEEN RUN OVER TODAY WHEN TRYING TO ENTER THE HIGHWAY ALREADY AT ABOUT 60-65 MPH AND THE ENGINE SPUTTERED AND FELT LIKE IT QUIT AND I HAD TO RUN ON TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO NOT GET HIT. IT HAS BEEN SPUTTERING/MISSING ALOT BUT NEVER TO THAT EXTREME. I HEAR THERE IS AN INTERCOOLER PROBLEM WITH THE 2011 ECONOBOOST ENGINE AFTER ASKING AROUND. SUPPOSEDLY, THEIR IS MOISTURE BUILDING UP IN THE INTERCOOLER AND IS HORRIBLY DAMAGING TO THE ENGINE.. *TR
STEERING LOCKS WHEN MAKING RIGHT TURNS AND THEN STRAIGHTENING OUT.
IT WAS A 20 DEGREE MORNING SO I DECIDED TO USE THE REMOTE START TO WARM UP MY TRUCK BEFORE I WENT TO WORK. I CLIMB INTO THE TRUCK AND GO TO BACK OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND NOTICED THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE SLIDER IS SHATTERED. I'VE NEVER HAULED ANYTHING IN THE BED SO NOTHING WOULD HAVE CAME INTO CONTACT WITH THE WINDOW. AFTER DOING A LITTLE RESEARCH, I DISCOVERED THAT THERE ARE PLENTY OF FORD OWNERS THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED, ONE GENTLEMAN HAD HIS CHILD IN THE BACK WHEN THIS HAPPENED! FORTUNATELY MY CHILDREN WERE NOT WITH ME AT THE TIME THE WINDOW SHATTERED. HOPEFULLY FORD WILL COVER THIS BEING THAT IT'S $800, BUT I'M GUESSING THEY'LL TELL ME IT'S NOT THEY'RE PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPARK PLUGS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 49,502.
I ACCELERATED HARD ON A HIGHWAY ENTRANCE RAMP AND THE ENGINE STARTED TO STUTTER TO THE POINT I THOUGHT IT MIGHT STALL OUT. I LET OFF THE GAS AND ACCELERATED AGAIN MORE SLOWLY WITH NO PROBLEM. THINKING IT WAS A ONE OFF I ACCELERATED HARD AGAIN AND AGAIN THE CAR STUTTERED. I WENT EASY FOR A COUPLE DAYS AND THEN AGAIN ACCELERATED HARD A FEW DAYS LATER WITH THE SAME RESULT. I GOT ONLINE AND REALIZED I WASN'T THE ONLY ONE HAVING ISSUES WITH THIS ENGINE. ON 4/18/14 I TOOK MY TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP(LANDERS FORD, COLLIERVILLE, TN) AND REPORTED THE PROBLEM. THEY WERE FAMILIAR WITH IT AND SAID THERE WAS A FIX. THIS FIX INCLUDED INSTALLING A MOISTURE DEFLECTOR AND REPROGRAMMING THE COMPUTER. IT WAS PERFORMED AND I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP. YESTERDAY, 4/23/14, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I AM PLANNING ON GOING BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TOMORROW. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
WHILE TRYING TO PASS A VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY MY TRUCK STARTED TO SPUTTER AND LOOSE POWER, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON FOR A FEW SECONDS AND WENT OFF. THIS PROBLEM IS HAPPENING EVERY DAY NOW UNDER ALL CONDITIONS. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THIS PROBLEM AND NO REAL RESOLUTIONS. *TR
THE PASSENGER (PS) SECTION OF THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED WITHOUT WARNING & WITHOUT ANY EXTERNAL DAMAGE TO THE WINDOW. THERE WAS A SLIGHT FROST ON THE WINDOWS & THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AND THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER BUTTON WAS DEPRESSED AND WOULD NOT ACTIVATE. AS THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN AT 25 MILES PER HOUR AN LOUD POP NOISE WAS HEARD. THE VEHICLE PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD & IT WAS NOTICED THAT THE PS SECTION OF THE REAR WINDOW WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED. THE FORD DEALERSHIP THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FROM WAS CONTACT TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY BULLETINS FOR THIS ISSUE. THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT THERE WAS NO BULLETINS FOR THIS ISSUE HOWEVER, THEY HAVE SEEN THIS ISSUE MULTIPLE TIMES & DIRECTED ME TO CALL THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE DEALERSHIP ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE REAR WINDOW THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED WAS ON BACK ORDER & THAT ADDITIONAL REPAIR LOCATIONS SHOULD BE CONTACTED TO REPLACE THE GLASS IF IMMEDIATE REPAIR WAS NEEDED. TWO ADDITIONAL REPAIR LOCATIONS WERE CONTACTED, BOTH OF THEM HAD THE REAR GLASS ON BACK ORDER. A CALL WAS PLACED TO THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE WITH THIS COMPLIANT, DIRECTION WAS GIVEN THAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY WAS NOT DO ANYTHING FOR THIS ISSUE & THAT THE INCIDENT SHOULD BE REPORTED TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY FOR REPAIR. THE INCIDENT WAS REPORTED TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY & THE DEDUCTIBLE WAS PAID TO HAVE THE REAR WINDOW REPLACED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY REPAIR LOCATION ALSO WAS AWARE & REPLACED SEVERAL REAR WINDOWS FOR THIS VEHICLE DUE TO UNEXPECTED SHATTERING WITH NO EXTERNAL IMPACT, SOME OF THE REPAIRS WERE REPEAT REPAIRS . THE LOCATION ALSO ADVISED THAT THE PROBABLE REASON FOR THE SHATTERING WAS DUE TO THE HEATER ELEMENT IN THE GLASS OVER HEATING OVERTIME CAUSING WINDOW FAILURE & THAT IT WAS POSSIBLE THE FAILURE WAS GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN. *JS
ENGINE STUMBLES OR MISFIRES AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, WHICH LEAD TO A LOSS OF POWER WHEN ACCELERATING. *TR
THE SUBJECT PICK UP TRUCK WAS SOUTHBOUND ON I405 BETWEEN ORANGE AVE AND CHERRY AVE IN LONG BEACH CALIFORNIA. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE FAST LANE OR THE LANE ADJACENT TO THE FAST LANE. SPEED AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT WAS APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH AND THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ENGAGED. TRAFFIC WAS MODERATE WITH ALL LANES MOVING AT FREEWAY SPEED. WITHOUT WARNING, AND SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH THE SOUND OF A SKIDDING TIRE, THE VEHICLE PULLED VIOLENTLY AND ABRUPTLY TO THE RIGHT, OUT OF CONTROL, AND CROSSED ALL TRAFFIC LANES OF THE FREEWAY AND THE SHOULDER OF THE FREEWAY. JUST PRIOR TO DEPARTING THE ROADWAY, ENOUGH CONTROL WAS REGAINED TO AVOID HITTING A FREEWAY DIRECTIONAL SIGN IN THE LANDSCAPE MEDIAN. THE TRUCK ENTERED THE LANDSCAPE MEDIAN AND CAME TO REST FACING SOUTH, PARALLEL TO THE FREEWAY. APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES PASSED BEFORE THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL RESPONDED TO THE ACCIDENT SITE. THE OFFICER SAID HE WAS RESPONDING TO AN ACCIDENT THAT WAS REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL FORD DEALER FOR INVESTIGATION. FIVE TO TEN MINUTES PRIOR TO THE LOSS OF CONTROL, THE DRIVER NOTICED A FLUCTUATION IN THE SPEEDOMETER FROM APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH TO 50 MPH WITH NO CHANGE IN VEHICLE SPEED, ENGINE RPM OR PERFORMANCE. SEVERAL WEEKS PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT, THE DRIVER EXPERIENCED AN EVENT AT MODERATE SPEED WHICH WAS DESCRIBED AS FEELING THOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS HIT FROM BEHIND AT SLOW SPEED ALTHOUGH THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND THE TRUCK. SIMULTANEOUSLY, THE SPEEDOMETER AND TACHOMETER BOTH FAILED TO 0 AND THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY WENT BLANK. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, A "WRENCH" ICON APPEARED MOMENTARILY ON THE DISPLAY. THE DRIVER CONTINUED DRIVING TO A GAS STATION AND REFUELED. WHEN THE ENGINE WAS STARTED AFTER REFUELING, ALL INSTRUMENTS APPEARED NORMAL WITH NO ICONS PRESENT. NO ICONS RE-APPEARED AT ANY TIME UP TO AND INCLUDING THE DATE OF THE ACCIDENT. UPDATED 06/16/14 *BF
THE DEFROST BUTTON WOULD NOT COME ON PROPERLY. ONCE IT DID, APPROXIMATELY 3 TO 5 MINUTES LATER I HEARD A LOUD POP. THAT IS WHEN I NOTICED BY LOOKING IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR THAT THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE BACK WINDOW HAD SHATTERED. THERE WAS NOTHING INDICATING IT HAD BEEN STRUCK BY ANYTHING. THE ENTIRE WINDOW WAS STILL INTACT. THE OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE WAS AROUND 27 DEGREES. 2011 F150 SUPER CREW. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AS THE ENGINE BECAME UNRESPONSIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A WIRE CONNECTED TO A SPARK PLUG WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. I WAS DRIVING MY FORD F150 ECOBOOST AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS FOR ABOUT 1 HOUR, A LIGHT RAIN STARTED WITH HUMID CONDITIONS. WHILE TRAVELING AROUND 60 MPH I ATTEMPTED TO PASS ANOTHER CAR BUT MY TRUCK WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. IT BEGAN TO SHAKE AND SHUDDER WHEN I TIRED TO INCREASE SPEED WHICH ALMOST RESULTED IN A COLLISION BECAUSE I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE WHILE PASSING. MY TRUCK HAS NOW RETURNED TO NORMAL FUNCTION BUT I HAVE BECOME AWARE THAT THE ISSUE I HAD HAS HAPPENED TO SEVERAL OTHERS. IT WAS ABOUT 12 DEGREES OUT THIS MORNING WHEN I PUT ON MY REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER ON MY 2011 F150 SUPERCREW. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES OF DRIVING, I HEAD A LOUD BANG COME FROM THE REAR OF THE TRUCK. I PULLED OVER TO SEE WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND NOTICE THAT THE REAR WINDOW EXPLODED AND SHATTERED INTO TINY PIECES.NOTHING HAD HIT THE WINDOW, IT WAS FROM THE CHANGE IN TEMPERATURE. THE BACK WINDOW HAD NO PREVIOUS CRACKS OR SCRATHERS SO I SAW NO REASON FOR IT TO REACT TO THE CHANGE IN HEAT. LUCKILY NOONE WAS IN THE BACK SEAT WHEN THIS HAPPENED. *TR
SINCE OWNING A NEW 2001 FORD F-150 ECOBOOST, I HAVE NOTICED SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THE ENGINE. LOSS OF POWER WHEN ACCELERATING, SHUTTERING WHEN BRAKING AND POOR FUEL ECONOMY. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE AND THEY HAVE APPLIED TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLITINS, BUT THE ISSUE RETURNS. THE LATEST PROBLEM WAS A FAILED COIL PACK CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO ALMOST STALL ON THE HIGHWAY. FORD DIDN'T COVER THE PART UNDER THEIR POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. *TR
IT WAS 15 DEGREES OUT, I STARTED THE TRUCK SUNDAY MORNING, I PUSHED THE REAR DEFROST BUTTON AND THE LIGHT WOULD NOT COME ON. I WAITED ABOUT 15 MINUTES FOR THE TRUCK TO WARM UP WHEN I GOT INTO THE TRUCK, THE REAR DEFROST BUTTON STILL WAS NOT ILLUMINATED EVEN THOUGH I PUSHED IT A FEW TIMES. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED. THERE MUST BE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WITH THE F150 REAR DEFROST BUTTON. I HAVE READ MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE NHTSA INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM AND HOLD FORD ACCOUNTABLE. THIS IS NOT SAFE! I AM REQUESTING THAT NHTSA INVESTIGATE THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERING DUE TO A POSSIBLE SHORTAGE WITH THE REAR DEFROSTER BUTTON. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE IN A TIMELY MANNER WHEN THE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT HAD TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR WHILE SWERVING TO ALLOW MORE TIME FOR THE STOP TO OCCUR. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT FLUID LEAKED FROM THE MASTER CYLINDER INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER, WHICH DEPLETED THE BRAKE FLUID IN THE MASTER CYLINDER AND LED TO THE BRAKE FAILURE. THE MASTER CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.

EXTREME FORCE TO BE PROVIDE TO BRAKE PEDAL TO SLOW VEHICLE TO A STOP. THIS COULD RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH IF ANOTHER PERSON IN THE PATH OF THE VEHICLE. REAR SLIDING WINDOW DEFROSTER STOPPED WORKING AND DRIVER'S SIDE HEATED SEAT ALSO STOPPED WORKING. PRIOR TO HEATED SEAT STOPPING TO WORK, IT BECAME SO HOT IT ACTUALLY MADE MY LEG SO HOT IT HURT. IF I WAS WEARING SHORTS SKIN WOULD OF BEEN BURNT. AT THE TIME SEAT AND DEFROSTER STOPPED WORKING I SMELLED WIRES BURNING. GOOGLED THESE PROBLEMS I SAW THIS IS A VERY COMMON OCCURRENCE. TOOK MY TRUCK TO DEALERSHIP, FORD WILL FIX SEAT , BUT IT WILL COST ME $100 DEDUCTIBLE. REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER IS NOT COVERED BY MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. AT THIS TIME WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM FORD. THERE ARE AT LEAST 20-30 COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE ABOUT REAR DEFROSTER, FORD NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS DEFECT. *TR

ON FEBRUARY 13, 2014, MY FORD 2011 F-150 ECOBOOST BEGAN TO SHOW SIGNS OF LIMITED THROTTLE RESPONSE COUPLED WITH A DRASTIC REDUCTION IN POWER OUTPUT AND MODERATE TO SEVERE ENGINE VIBRATION. THESE SYMPTOMS OCCURRED AND WERE MOST SEVERE UNDER HEAVY ENGINE LOAD, WHILE TRAVELING UPHILL, HIGH OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE AND WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER ON. GENERAL LOCATIONS: MOJAVE HIGH DESERT (JOSHUA TREE, CA) AND THE GREATER PALM SPRINGS, CA AREA. WEATHER CONDITIONS WERE GENERALLY DRY WITH LOW HUMIDITY. ON FEBRUARY 15, 2014 THE SYMPTOMS DESCRIBED ABOVE WERE SO VIOLENT THAT THE CHECK ENGINE CAME ON (FLASHING) AND I PULLED OFF THE ROAD FOR MY OWN SAFETY. I SHUT OFF THE ENGINE, ALLOWED IT TO REST' AND THEN TURNED THE ENGINE BACK ON. THE SYMPTOMS DID NOT DISAPPEAR COMPLETELY, BUT THEY WERE REDUCED AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS NO LONGER ILLUMINATED. ON FEBRUARY 20, 2014 I BROUGHT MY TRUCK TO YUCCA VALLEY FORD TO HAVE THE PROBLEM DIAGNOSED. MILEAGE AT THE TIME OF THE SERVICE WAS 68,382 MILES. A DIAGNOSIS WAS PERFORMED AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ENGINE WAS MISFIRING ON THE NUMBER 1 CYLINDER DUE TO WORN SPARK PLUGS. ALL 6 SPARK PLUGS WERE REPLACED AND THE SYMPTOMS DISAPPEARED. THE TRUCK RAN FINE UNTIL APPROXIMATELY JUNE, 2014. THE SYMPTOMS SLOWLY BEGAN TO REOCCUR AND BY EARLY AUGUST, HAD FULLY RETURNED. ON AUGUST 8, 2014, WHILE TRAVELING AT FREEWAY SPEEDS, UP A STEEP GRADE, WITH EXTERNAL AIR TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW 100 DEGREES, LOW HUMIDITY, AND THE AIR CONDITIONER ON, THE TRUCK NEARLY LOST ALL POWER, BEGAN TO MISFIRE AND VIBRATE VIOLENTLY, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BEGAN TO FLASH INTERMITTENTLY. UPON REACHING THE TOP OF THE GRADE AND THE LOAD ON THE ENGINE REDUCED, THE SYMPTOMS WERE REDUCED. THE TRUCK WAS AGAIN BROUGHT TO THE YUCCA YALLEY FORD SERVICE CENTER ON SATURDAY AUGUST 9, 2014 WHERE IT IS CURRENTLY AWAITING DIAGNOSIS. *TR
