Symptoms of Ford recall 19S07 which was performed in 2019 are occurring at an increasing rate. Vehicle downshifts at unexpected time in normal driving. This has occurred 3 times in the past 1.5 weeks. The latest as of today 10/30/2023, locked the rear wheels up.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70–75 MPH, the vehicle downshifted from sixth gear to third gear. The contact stated that the transmission had gone into Safe Mode. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission lead frame needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V433000 (Power Train) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was contacted and provided a case number. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
We have had multiple occurrences of a dangerous situation on a 2014 F150. Vehicle died three times. Once at 65MPH, randomly shut off going down the road. After waiting for help for 30 mins, decided to try restarting, fired right up. Second time, I was 800 miles from home. Shut off vehicle after long highway run pulling trailer. Vehicle refused to restart, then after 30 mins or so restarted. Third time, I drove three blocks for fuel, at 3AM. Vehicle was dead on service station drive, refused to restart. Waited 90 mins for wrecker. Tried several times to restart, never did. When it unloaded from the wrecker, it fired right up. There were no warning lamps, check engine lights or any other indicator of impending doom. The safety of myself and others definitely was at risk. On the first occurrence I was in rush hour traffic with a dead vehicle. The second occurrence left me stranded in a remote location. The final occurrence left me stranded in the dark with a dead vehicle at 3AM. The issue is documented by Ford service bulletin TSB-15-0137. I find this to be a very disturbing situation, as the fuel pump fuse melts, causing a dead vehicle. The problem was diagnosed by an independent repair facility. The F27 fuel pump fuse is very well documented in F150 forums. I wouldn't want to endanger my spouse driving this in any traffic. It is a $20 part that should be a recall.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 MPH, the vehicle unintendedly downshifted to 1st gear. The contact struggled to get the vehicle to accelerate. The contact stated that the engine revved however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact coasted the vehicle over to the side of the road and was able to drive 15 MPH in 1st gear to the residence. The stated that the failure recurred within 5-miles while driving at various speeds. The failure was intermittent. The contact stated that odometer and transmission coolant gauge would go to zero with the wrench symbol displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer nor a certified mechanic. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 157,000.
"recall" (as described on Ford's website) no. 19N01 is not actually a recall. It's a "Customer Satisfaction Program" that extends warranty on the transmission of my truck to 150000. I was just over that amount of miles when my leadframe became faulty and did exactly what this covers. I was going 70mph and it suddenly dropped into 1st gear and I came to a screeching halt and was thrown into the steering wheel. Luckily nobody was behind me and there were no injuries. Why this isn't a full recall as it is INCREDIBLY dangerous is beyond me. I don't think it's right that this wasn't covered for ALL vehicles with these problems no matter what time or number of miles. I am looking for compensation for the replaced leadframe because Ford KNEW about the problem but chose not to issue a full recall, even though they called it a recall. This put many people in such dangerous situations and my truck still shifts hard to this day. Why is Ford not helping me just because I was just over 150,000 miles.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that after a visual inspection of the rear fender wells and bed post, she became aware of extensive frame rusting. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the bed liner was holding moisture, resulting in abnormal corrosion. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 150,000.
Vehicle has less than 130k miles and will abruptly downshift while driving. Dealer says it’s not part of recall however I see that this issue is associated with f150 of my year. I’m afraid this can cause an accident however I’m being told that at times a leaf in the road can cause this to happen which seems unlikely.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH, the transmission unintendedly downshifted and the speed was reduced independently. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 122,000.
While driving on the highway at approximately 70 mph, with my child in the car, the vehicle suddenly shifted into first gear causing the wheels to skid and the vehicle to stop in moving traffic. Luckily, I was able to get to the side for safety, but this could have been so much worse. When I called dealership they stated there was no recalls for this problem. Also, the vehicle is now in need of repair, I would presume as a result of the engine being shifted into 1st gear while traveling at highway speeds.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 170,000.
Our speedometer stopped working and wrench light would come on. When driving the gears would shift to 5th. It happened really bad on the highways several times where we had to pullover for a good 20 minutes. Started happening a little over a month ago. They had my truck in the shop for 2 weeks We've had it looked at and fixed and they said it was the recall on 2011-2012 ford's f1-50s and some 2013 Ford f1-50s but we got charged for it.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to call the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 19,731.
**Known Ford recall for this exact issue not attached to my VIN***. While driving (9/20/23) on the highway, a wrench illuminated on my dash, odometer went blank, speedometer went to zero, vehicle attempted to accelerate and struggled to shift; shortly after my wheels locked up then released reducing my speed to about 30 mpg within a short period of time (left skid marks on the highway). I nearly got hit by multiple vehicles. I pulled off the highway and restarted my vehicle. The issue did not immediately return until I began driving. Same indications but I was able to drive a few miles to a Ford dealership. Diagnostics will occur tomorrow morning. Suspected cause is a failed transmission output speed sensor for 6-speed automatic transmission which could automatically shift you into first gear resulting in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash (from a FORD website). For Managment: (great training opportunity) I filed this complaint with your customer service via a phone call. The agent was very rude and hard to talk to. She frequently asked me questions and then would cut me off without letting me answer. If the call was recorded, please listen to it. At the end of the call I informed her of her behavior but she did not reply and hung up. I am filing this report because I am not sure she will submit mine.

The brakes instantly became soft and unresponsive with a warning chime and message to service the vehicle. The brake fluid reservoir was empty with no apparent leaks on the vehicle. I refilled the brake reservoir only to watch it disappear over a short time. I researched and found there is a recall 16S24 impacting Ford F150 ecoboost vehicles with this exact symptom. My vehicle does not show up on the recall list having been manufactured at the Dearborn facility in June of 2013 where the cutoff was August 2013. At this point, Ford has refused to recognize this issue is the same.
Diagnosed by local goodyear service. The leadframe on transmission need replacing. Truck randomly shuts off, shifts wrong & dash lights are weird. Ford dealer says not a recall & truck is too old for extended warranty. Ford customer service says the same. And this isnt a safely issue?! Dealer says $700+ to fix. Just spent nearly $1800 to fix a broken leaf spring - in the middle layer of the spring - & truck has never been overloaded - Ford Company would not tell me if that had a recall because it was not diagnosed by dealer. It was rubbing on 1 of new tires good thing we did not have a blowout!

Hello, A few weeks ago while I was heading down highway 49 in Tuolumne County, the spindle that holds the front wheel on my truck broke, sending my front left wheel down the opposite direction and my truck crashing down into the asphalt to a sudden stop. Thankfully I was able to maintain control enough of the truck to keep it from running off the road and flipping over. So many things made this a very lucky occurrence for me, because I was heading down the highway to Mariposa and many curves that had it happened there, would have sent me off the cliffs many hundreds of feet down. As I was being driven by the tow truck driver talking about my accident, we realized he had never seen this ever happen before. I was also told by the mechanic that something like this "just does not happen and should never happen". I could have had my entire family with me and we could have all perished because of a failure that "is not supposed to happen". I have also read there is a huge recall for this part on these trucks, although my truck does not fall under the recall and this is why I am asking for your help. I have saved all the broken parts, have photos of them all and of the truck broken on the side of the road. I feel this issue should be brought to the attention of FORD, but they will not talk to me about it, which is why I am reaching out to you. I also have a bit of PTSD, because I am scared to drive my truck because I am worried the new replaced part, could have a similar defect, so I will not allow passengers to ride with me until it is confirmed safe to drive. The problem was not reproduced by anyone. The vehicle was not inspected, although the CHP was on scene, but I have not checked to see if a report was filed There was absolutely no advanced warning of any kind. The wheel just suddenly broke off. Is this something you can address and help me with?
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 MPH on a busy highway, the vehicle lost motive power and decelerated. The contact stated that the vehicle would not properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. During the failure, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was later driven to the local dealer who diagnosed that the transmission leadframe was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the Extended Warranty Coverage for the failure. The failure mileage was 124,558.
The vehicle instrument panel stops working and the vehicle downshifts into first gear. Remains there until you can pull over and turn it off. Sometimes after turning off the engine you can get it to shift properly. Sometimes not
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the vehicle independently downshifted to first gear with the “Service Engine” message displayed. The vehicle failed to accelerate upon depression of the accelerator pedal and the contact pulled over. The failure returned soon after restarting the vehicle. The vehicle was then driven to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The mechanic inspected the vehicle and replaced the wheel speed sensor. The contact recently received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train) for a 2014 Ford F-150 that was previously owned. The contact called the local dealer and the manufacturer and was informed that the current vehicle was not included in the recall. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
My truck had a safety recall to fix a module that was causing to he transmission to down shift into low gear at high speeds Many times while driving the truck on freeway at 65mph the truck would down shift to low gear causing the truck tires to lock up and engine rev and then it would feel like I was rear ended from behind ..An illumination of a orange wrench would take over the whole display of gauges .The milage and all gauges would just be lines like -- - - - this and service engine light would come on too.I would pull over and restart the truck and it would drive ok again for a little while .I took it to Ford and had the recall fixed. When I went to pick up truck I was told my motor needed to be replaced because me # 7 cylinder was not holding compression. My truck only has 79,000 miles on it .There was no problem with motor before thr transmission started downshifting at high speeds My truck is under the milage to be fixed under warranty but because I don't drive it that much I am out of warranty because its been past 10 yrs .This recall for transmission i believe is what cause my motor to go bad

The failure mileage was approximately 165,000.
Every time I drive my truck, it has a hard time shifting from 1st gear. The gauges will go crazy then stop all together and it will go into what seems to be low power mode. Several times while driving, it will try to shift, and cause me to skid, or will not speed up above 10 to 15 mph.
I took my truck in a couple of weeks ago to get the recall done due to downshifting. Picked it up the next day and they told me they resolved the issue. The next day it happened again and it continued for a week. I called the dealership (Holmes Tuttle Ford) and they said they would charge me $200 plus maintenance fee even though it is a recall. Fast forward to today and my truck went out and will not start. Called ford and they informed me that although they cleared the recall they did not actually fix the problem because it was not present when they turned it on and told me I would have to repair it on my own even though they did not attempt to fix it.
My speakers when they were working would make a ear piercing static output that would last a few seconds. It was very dangerous while I was driving bc it would scar me enough to jump. After about the 5th time, the speakers and radio no longer worked.

Felt the truck lurch, then airbag dash light came on, as well as the orange wrench light. Then, odometer and instant mpg read both read as zero even though I had a full tank and was going 55 mph. I couldn’t tell how fast I was going on the highway. Have not been to dealer yet, but found a recall online for the exact same problem to do with a 2013 recall on F150 for molded lead frame.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while attempting to stop the vehicle, the brake pedal extended to the floorboard while depressed, and the braking distance was extended. My 2013 Ford F-150 recently began experiencing transmission shifting problems. As I accelerated from a dead stop, the transmission would not shift out of first gear. The only short term remedy was to pull over to the side of the road, turn off the ignition, wait for 60 seconds and restart the engine. This worked sometimes, sometimes not. I understand there had been a 2011 thru 2013 Ford F-150 transmission recall in 2019 for identical circumstances. I submitted my VIN to check on whether it had been recalled, only to find it was not among those listed, even though the faulty shifting circumstances were identical to descriptions in the 2019 recall matter. A visit to the local Ford dealership left me without an answer, as I was told they currently had no transmission mechanic. Out of an abundance of caution, I took the truck to a local transmission repair service with a description of my problem and request for an evaluation. The service request resulted in confirmation of a faulty speed sensor, which yielded a fault code of PO722-00 (Output Shaft Speed Sensor Circuit No Signal). The Lead Frame was replaced as a result. Again, I believe my circumstances were identical to those being reported by other 2011 to 2013 Ford F-150 truck owners , on or before the 2019 recall, yet my VIN did not match the recall order. I'm sending along this description of my circumstance, requesting consideration for inclusion of my VIN as part of the 2019 recall of 2011-2013 Ford F-150 with this faulty Speed Sensor/ Lead Frame issue.
Vehicle downshifted into first gear while at freeway speeds, locking up the rear wheels. Vehicle had a defective speed sensor in the molded transmission lead frame. Defective software in the vehicle allowed this to happen.
WHILE DRIVING BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR, AFTER THAT BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON, UNABLE TO STOP, MOVE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND STOPPED WITH PARKING BRAKE SLOWLY. UPON INSPECTION NO BRAKE FLUID AT RESERVOIR AND NO EXTERNAL LEAKS. BRAKE FLUID WENT TO BRAKE BOOSTER. UPON RESEARCH FORD HAS A RECALL TO ADDRESS THE SAME COMPLAIN, BUT MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. WENT TO DEALER AND CALLED FORD, AND THEY COULD NOT HELP BY STATING THAT MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL , EVEN IF THE YEAR IS PART OF IT THE VIN IS NOT. MY F150 VIN IS [XXX] MY NAME [XXX] . [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

As you are driving the vehicle will randomly down shift into first gear, causing the vehicle to potentially slam into first while in mid drive almost as if you hit a wall, this causes the vehicle to lose any information on the dash including speedometer. There are no warning lamps on prior to incident. Took it to a dealer to have it diagnosed and diagnosis was recorded as Transmission speed sensor which was common for recalls recently. Uncertain, how or when it started happening there was an elderly couple who owned the vehicle before me. This incident occurs frequently but not all the time.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F150. The contact stated while driving at 40 MPH, the vehicle downshifted on its own and the instrument panel was no longer illuminated. The vehicle decreased in speed causing the contact to strike the front windshield with the head. The contact was able to over on the side of the road and shut down the vehicle. When to contact restarted the vehicle, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to dealer that stated that the vehicle was experiencing similar failure as NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V433000 (Power Train) but that the vehicle was passed the mileage and that the dealer would not cover the repairs. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was 170,000.
The truck slammed into 1st gear going 55 mph on the interstate. Through investigation a speed sensor warning was the culprit. Not being able to have truck service for a month due to Ford Dealers being backed up Cavalier Ford sent a mobile mechanic out to me. He spent about 10 minutes on my truck handed me the keys and told me he did something with the computer mo parts are needed. He never test drove it to ensure the problem was corrected. When I went to drive the truck, the wrench light was still on and was worse than before. Actually stuck in first gear. After going around and around I was informed by Fors Customer Service they did their part, anything else I wanted done would be my responsibility financially because of the mileage. I didn't not think recalls had a mileage limit but they are insistent after 150k they were no longer responsible. Cavalier Ford marked the recall as complete but it wasn't. My case number with Ford is CAS44213098 transmission fluid leaking recall was not on there but I am leaking that as well. I don't want something for free, I just want them to correct their defects
