TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 35 MPH, WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE SERVICE VEHICLE SOON WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KINGS FORD (9555 KINGS AUTO MALL RD, CINCINNATI, OH 45249) AND HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE VEHICLE REMAINED AT THE DEALER UNREPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DEALER WAS NOT AUTHORIZED TO DO THE SERVICE WITHOUT A FAULT CODE BECAUSE OF THE WARRANTY STIPULATION. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 146,000.
MY RPM KNEEDLE POP OFF. MY SEATS ARE TEARLING
STARTED MY TRUCK WITH AUTO START AND REAR DEFROST CRACKED MY BACK DRIVER SIDE GLASS.
WHILE TRAVELING AT A SPEED OF 80 MPH ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE STALLED DUE TO THE MALFUNCTION OF THE LEAD FRAME CONDUCTOR/VALVE BODY WHICH IS A RECALLED PART. WITH THE HELP OF A TRUCK DRIVER THAT SAW ME SWERVE DUE TO THE DOWNSHIFT, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER. I HAD MY TWO DAUGHTERS (AGES 8 & 4) IN THE VEHICLE WITH ME.
WHILE DRIVING ON A 4 LANE BUSY STREET, MY TRUCK STOPPED RUNNING. IT WOULD NOT RE-START. IT HAD A FULL TANK OF GAS, WOULD CRANK OVER BUT NOT START. I HAD IT FLAT TOWED TO MY HOME. IT WAS DETERMINED TO NOT BE GETTING GAS. I FOUND A TSB ON THE PROBLEM AND I HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR FROM FORD. FUSE #27 WAS TOO SMALL TO HANDLE THE CURRENT FOR THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. IT WAS A DESIGN FLAW AND I BELIEVE FORD SHOULD PAY FOR THE FIX. THIS COULD OF BEEN MORE DANGEROUS IF I WAS ON THE FREEWAY. I CALLED FOMOCO AND WAS TOLD IT WAS MY RESPONSIBILITY. DOES FORD HAVE ANY LIABILITY ?
ABRUPT AND UNEXPECTED TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTING TO FIRST GEAR. FORD HAD A RECALL IN 2016 FOR 2011-2012 F150 AND NEVER INCLUDED MY VEHICLE IN THE RECALL AND THEN IN 2019 THEY EXPANDED THE RECALL TO INCLUDE 2013 F150S. MY VEHICLE HAS DONE THIS VERY DANGEROUS DOWNSHIFT. I HAVE CALLED FORD AND TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER AND NOW THEY SAY ITS OUT OF THE 150,000 MILE RECALL. HAD THEY NOTIFIED ME WHEN THEY FIRST KNEW OF THIS ISSUE I WOULD HAVE BEEN WITHIN THE MILEAGE LIMIT. FORD FAILED TO RECALL MY VEHICLE WHEN THEY FIRST KNEW OF THIS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION AND NOW WANT ME TO PAY $1000.00 FOR THE REPAIR.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REMOTE START WAS USED START THE VEHICLE AND ACTIVATE THE DEFROSTER HOWEVER, THE REAR WINDSHIELD DEFROSTER SHATTERED THE REAR WINDSHIELD. THE CONTACT INFORMED OXMOOR FORD LINCOLN (100 OXMOOR LN, LOUISVILLE, KY 40222) OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE DEFROSTER. THE WINDSHIELD WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SERVICE ADVANCE TRACK WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WRAY FORD (2851 BENTON RD, BOSSIER CITY, LA 71111) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 197,000.
I FILED A COMPLAINT 11388782 1/18/2021 ON THIS ABRUPT TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFT AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN YESTERDAY. FORTUNATELY, NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME AND I SURVIVED ANOTHER VERY SCARY MOMENT. I SPOKE WITH FORD TODAY AND THEY SAID THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL NOTICE SENT THAT I NEVER RECEIVED AND NOW SINCE MY VEHICLE HAS 172000 THEY SAY THE RECALL WAS ONLY GOOD UNTIL 150000 MILES. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE THAT FORD NEEDS TO EXTEND THE RECALL. IF MY VEHICLE HAD A RECALL WHY DIDN'T THE VARIOUS FORD DEALERSHIPS THAT I HAVE BEEN TO FOR SERVICE OVER THE YEARS NOTIFY ME ALSO. I THINK FORD FAILED TO NOTIFY ME OF THIS FLAGRANT SAFETY RECALL.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO IMMEDIATELY STOP. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS PUSHED TO THE FLOOR HOWEVER, THE STOPPING DISTANCE WAS EXTENDED. THE LOW BRAKE FLUID LOW MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER WERE FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER KEESEE MOTOR COMPANY LOCATED AT 111 S BROADWAY, CORTEZ, CO 81321 AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V345000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
I FIRST STARTING HAVING THE PROBLEM 5 DAYS AGO AND THE ODOMETER WILL GO TO ZERO AND THE TRUCK WILL NOT BE RESPONSIVE IN TERMS OF PRESSING THE GAS AND A WRENCH SYMBOL COMES UP. I WAS TOLD IT IS THE LEAD FRAME CONTROL.
ENGINE CRANKS BUT WILL NOT START. AFTER RESEARCH FORD KNOWS THIS IS A FUSE PROBLEM OVER HEATING, A 20 AMP FUSE IN 26 SLOT. THIS HAS HAPPEN 2 TIMES AND GOES AWAY BUT COMES BACK. TRUCK WAS PARKED AND WOULD NOT START.
MULTIPLE TIMES I HAVE TAKEN A TURN IN MY 2013 F150 AND THE STEERING GOES "STIFF" FOR 5-10 SECONDS. IT FEELS LIKE I DON'T EVEN HAVE POWER STEERING OR ANY CONTROL OVER THE WHEEL. AND IT'S TERRIFYING EACH TIME IT HAPPENS. I'VE ALMOST RAN OFF THE ROAD INTO THE RAILING WHILE GOING AROUND A SHARP TURN ON A MOUNTAIN THAT COULD OF CAUSED ME TO RUN OFF THE CLIFF DUE TO THE LOCKED UP STEERING.
WITHIN 10 MINUTES AND 2 MILES OF ENGINE STARTUP AND AFTER TURNING ONTO A NATIONAL HIGHWAY AND AT HIGHWAY SPEED THE RPM AND ENGINE POWER DROPPED SUDDENLY TO IDLE AND WOULD NOT RESPOND TO ACCELERATOR INPUT. AFTER STOPPING AND IMMEDIATELY RESTARTING THE ENGINE, PERFORMANCE WAS NORMAL AND THE WARNING LIGHT FOR POWERTRAIN MALFUNCTION/REDUCED POWER/ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL WAS OFF. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION OF THE SAME HIGHWAY AND ANOTHER FOUR LANE STREET/HIGHWAY WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A TRAFFIC LIGHT STOP. NO CODES WERE SHOWN ON TWO DIFFERENT DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS. FORTUNATELY, I WAS NOT TOWING A TRAILER AT THE TIME.
I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK USED. ON 2 OCCASIONS IT COMPLETELY SHIFT OFF WITH NO WARNING. I GOOGLED AND READ THAT IF THE ANTIFREEZE RUNS LOW IT WILL COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN UNTIL ANTIFREEZE IS BROUGHT BACK TO LEVEL. RECENTLY I HAVE USED THE VEHICLE MORE. I CHECK THE RESERVOIR AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH FIR THIS PARTICULAR LEVEL. EVERYTIME I HAVE TO ADD ANTIFREEZE. NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER OF ANY LEAKAGE. LAST MONTH I DID NOT CHECK DUE TO HAVING A SHOULDER SURGERY SO THE TRUCK SAT UNFRIENDLY FIR APPROXIMATELY 6 WEEKS. I USED THE TRUCK TO GO TO MY LOCAL WALMART STORE APPROXIMATELY A 9 MILE TRIP ONE WAY. I NOTICED GOING TO STORE THE COOLING FAN CUT ON AND STAYED ON. I LOOKED AT GAUGES AND THEY WERE OK. AFTER PICKING UP GROCERIES I CRANKED THE TRUCK . I PULLED OUT OF PARKING LOT DROVE ABOUT A MILE AND NOTICED MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I STARTED WATCHING THE GAUGES. THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE WAS SLOWLY CLIMBING TO THE HOT RANGE. I TURNED IN THE DEFROSTER AND HEATER TO PULL HEAT OFF THE ENGINE CONSTANTLY WATCHING SO I COULD MAKE IT BACK HOME. I LIVE IN A RURAL COMMUNITY AND DID NOT WANT TO BREAK DOWN. I SLOWED MY SPEED TO 20-30 MPH WHICH DID HELP KEEP GAUGE IN SAFE ZONE. WHEN I ARRIVED HOME MY HUSBAND CHECKED THE RESERVOIR WHICH WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY. HE ADDED 1-1/2 GALLONS OF COOLANT. WE LET SIT AND THEN CRANKED THE TRUCK IT IS NOW BACK TO RUNNING IN THE NORMAL RANGE. I POSTED WHAT HAPPENED ON MY FACEBOOK PAGE. I HAVE DISCOVERED THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 2013 F-150 AND IN MY OPINION VERY DANGEROUS SINCE THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING THAT FLUID LEVEL HAS MYSTERIOUSLY DROPPED AND EVAPORATED AND THE TRUCK SHUTS DOWN AND WILL NOT START UNTIL COOLANT IS REFILLED. I HAVEN'T BEEN STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD ... YET... BUT THIS IS CERTAINLY SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED. *TR

The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, the vehicle unexpectedly downshifted into first gear and then lost motive power. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with engine failure due to coolant leaking into the engine. The dealer informed the contact that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.
TRANSMISSION REACHES AN UNCERTAIN SPEED THEN WRENCH APPEARS AND ALL POWER IS LOST, FORCING ME TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. HAVING TO TURN OFF ENGINE AND RESTARTING. WAITING UNTIL IT IS SAFE TO RESUME TRAVEL. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD NOT AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ISSUE. I CHOOSE NOT DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAYS BECAUSE I CAN NOT REACH THE SPEED LIMIT POSTED. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY I CAN BE SURE I DON'T PUT MYSELF AND OTHER DRIVERS IN HARMS WAY.
2013 F150 ANALOG SPEEDOMETER READS 45MPH WHEN STOPPED. ALL OTHER GAUGES WORK CORRECTLY. DIGITAL SPEEDOMETER IN ENGINEER TEST MODE READS ACCURATELY.
GOT IN MY CAR AT 9:30 PM. I HAD AUTO STARTED MY CAR. I ENTERED THE VEHICLE, INSERTED MY KEY AND THEN THE DRIVER SIDE OF MY REAR WINDOW SHATTERED WITH A LOUD EXPLOSIVE POP THAT STARTLED ME. I WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME, THANK GOODNESS, OR I MIGHT HAVE DRIVEN OFF THE ROAD. AFTER SOME RESEARCH, I NOTED THAT THERE WERE OTHERS WHO HAD THE SAME ISSUE. THAT IS WHY I AM REPORTING THIS TO YOU.
ON 02/20/2021 PARKED MY VEHICLE IN MY DRIVEWAY. ALL GLASS WAS FINE AND INTACT. MORNING OF 02/21/2021 I REMOTE STARTED MY TRUCK TO LEAVE. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAS CHANGED OVER NIGHT OR THE MORNING OF, TRUCK IS SITTING EXACTLY WHERE I PARKED IT. NO ADVERSE WEATHER. A FEW MINUTES LATER I AM PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND I LOOK INTO MY REVIEW MIRROR AND SEE MY DRIVER'S SIDE, BACK WINDOW GLASS COMPLETELY SHATTERED. I KNOW NOTHING HAS HIT IT FROM THE INSIDE, PLUS THE VERY LARGE HEADREST IS IN POSITION AND PROTECTS MOST OF THAT WINDOW FROM THE INSIDE. I KNOW NOTHING COULD HAVE HIT FROM THE OUTSIDE AS A I HAVE A PROPERLY FITTED CENTURY CAP ON THE BED OF THE TRUCK AND THIS PROTECTS THE GLASS FROM BEING STRUCK ON THE OUTSIDE. I LOOK UP INFORMATION ON THE INTERNET AND FIND MANY MANY COMPLAINTS OF THIS VERY ISSUE OCCURRING IN MULTIPLE YEARS OF F150'S AND MANY SIMILARLY RELATED TO REMOTE START, WINDOW DEFROSTER, ALLEGATIONS. I CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING THAT RECOGNIZES THIS AS A RECALL YET. SEVERAL ARTICLES OR VIDEOS I SAW RECOMMENDED A COMPLAINT THROUGH HERE. THIS MANY TRUCKS, SAME ISSUE, SAME MAKE, MODELS AND QUITE A YEAR SPAN. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL.
TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTING OR NOT SHIFTING CAUSING VEHICLE TO FLY OFF ROAD OR OUT A LANE INTO TRAFFIC.
I WAS TRAVELING AT 65MPH CRUISE CONTROL ON. NOT A ROUGH ROAD AND NO OTHER TRAFFIC. TURNED ON REAR DEFROST TO CLEAR SNOW ON REAR GLASS THAT WAS BLOWING UP FROM THE BED. THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR GLASS PANEL SHATTERED. THERE WAS NO VEHICLE FLEX OR IMPACT TO THE WINDOW.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 65-70 MPH and making a stop, the vehicle inadvertently stalled. The warning message "No Oil" appeared on the instrument panel. The contact was unable to veer to the side of the road. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after several attempts. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while driving and making a stop. The contact stated various unknown warning lights were illuminated. The independent mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The dealer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact that there was no recall related to the failure. The vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic but was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact that they could not issue a recall as NHTSA oversaw issuing recalls. A case was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER MAGUIRE'S FORD EAST (100 N THISTLEDOWN DR, PALMYRA, PA 17078, (717)838-8300) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SUBFRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 106,000.
DRIVING AT AROUND 40 MPH VEHICLE DOWN SHIFTED TO LOW GEAR & WRENCH 🔧 LIGHT CAME ON & SPEEDOMETER WENT TO 0 & VEHICLE REMAINED IN LOW GEAR BUT I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT BACK HOME. AFTER TURNING IGNITION OFF FOR FEW MINUTES & BACK ON IT CLEARED OUT ISSUE & WAS ABLE TO DRIVE AGAIN. NOT SURE WHAT'S GOING ON BUT DEALER CAN'T CHECK IT FOR TWO WEEKS, 2-18-21. THERE WAS A COUPLE RECALLS 19S07 6R80, 19S19 6R80 FOR SUDDEN TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFT POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE PROGRAMMING, WHICH WAS DONE BY DEALER.
DRIVING @ 35 MPH AND TRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFT TO 1 ON THE GAUGE. TRUCK SLOWED TO ALMOST A COMPLETE STOP. PULL OVER AND STOPPED. SHIFT TO 'PARK', WAITED A FEW SECONDS, SHIFT BACK TO 'DRIVE' AND MADE IT HOME. OCCURRENCE WAS SIMILAR TO THE PROBLEMS EXPERIENCED WITH PREVIOUS TRANSMISSION RECALL. PRESENTLY, NO SIMILAR OCCURRENCE FROM 1/31 TO PRESENT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER MIKE WILLIS FORD (930 BEGLIS PKWY, SULPHUR, LA 70663, (337) 625-3030) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING TO REPROGRAM THE POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE SAME SYMPTOMS. THE CONTACT THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OXYGEN SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 162,000.
MY WIFE, GRANDCHILD AND I DRIVING ABOUT 30 MPH IN ICY CONDITIONS AND TRUCK SHIFTS INTO 1ST GEAR AND HAD TO CONTROL VEHICAL TO COME TO STOP, I DID NOTHING WRONG ,WHILE DRIVING, THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, I DROVE THE VEHICAL THE REST OF WY ON PINS AND NEEDLES.IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM SOLVED, THANK YOU.
ELECTRONICS IN THE THROTTLE BODY CAUSE A COMPUTER FAULT WHILE DRIVING, WHICH RESULTS IN THE ENGINE (3.5 L TWIN TURBO V-6) INSTANTLY GOING INTO LIMP MODE, WHERE THE ENGINE PRODUCES NO POWER. THIS SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. IT HAPPENS WITH NO WARNING. IT CAN HAPPEN WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE THROUGH AN INTERSECTION WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC. IT CAN HAPPEN AT FREEWAY SPEEDS WHERE THE SUDDEN DECELERATION CAN CAUSE A COLLISION, AND WHERE THERE IS NO PLACE TO PULL OVER SAFELY. THIS FAULT IS VERY COMMON IN FORD F-150'S AND FORD AUTOMOBILES. RECENTLY HAD MY TRUCK GO THROUGHT A INSPECTION CHECK AT A PROFESSIONAL AUTOMOTIVE SHOP AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH RIGHT AND LEFT EXHAUST MANIFOLD LEAKS. THIS ISSUE IS CAUSING EXHAUST MANIFOLD GASES TO LEAK INTO MY CABIN AND POWER LOSS WHILE ENGINE IS RUNNING. REASON FOR LEAKS ARE DUE TO EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS BREAKING AND WARPED EXHAUST MANIFOLD.
I GOT ON THE FREEWAY AFTER GETTING GAS FROM GAS STATION. I WAS AT 70 MPH AND IT STARTED TO DOWNSHIFTING AND I WAS LUCKY TO MOVE TO THE SHOULDER FROM FAST LANE. DEALER ALREADY DID THE REPAIR FOR THIS RECALL LAST YEAR.
My truck dangerously downshifts!!! This truck was brought in for the recall 19VO75000 to OTIS FORD in Quogue. The next day the truck downshifted dangerously again. I called Otis Ford and they said I would have to pay for a new transmission, $3,000. I went to T-Jays Transmissions in Riverhead, NY and they had my truck for 1 1/2 weeks and said there was nothing wrong with it. Otis refuses to perform the recall work and this truck is DANGEROUS. I cannot sell this truck and will not trade in for another Ford, what do I do? [XXX] or [XXX] Can the recall be performed a second time? Have there been any other issues with this recall? I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY DRIVING ALONG AT A CONSTANT 65MPH AND SUDDENLY MY TRUCK JUMPED IN A LOWER GEAR, RPS REVED WAY UP, THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED ALMOST OUT OF MY HAND, TIRES EVEN HAD A SLIGHT SQUEAL. IT ALMOST FELT LIKE I HAD HIT SOMETHING. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY IT WAS BACK TO NORMAL AND BACK TO RESUMED SPEED.
WHILE DRIVING EXPERIENCED LOSS OF SPEEDOMETER, WRENCH LIGHT AND AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATION, AND VEHICLE ENTERING LIMP MODE. VEHICLE HAD P0720 AND P0721 TROUBLE CODES. ALSO EXPERIENCED AN UNEXPECTED DOWNSHIFT TO FIRST GEAR WHILE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MILES AN HOUR NEARLY CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL.
PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT, JUST AFTER TRAVELING ON THE 65 MPH HIGHWAY, MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND KICKED BACK HARD INJURING MY LEFT THUMB. THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT TURN AT ALL. THE TRUCK REMAINED OPERATIONAL OTHERWISE BUT THE STEERING REMAINED LOCKED. A WARNING MESSAGE APPEARED SAYING "POWER STEERING FAILURE". HAD TO HAVE THE TRUCK TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. I HAVE RESEARCH THE HUNDREDS, IF NOT MORE, COMPLAINTS AND SAFETY ISSUES WITH THE F-150 STEERING AND THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY FORD AS THIS WILL, IF NOT, CAUSE SERIOUS BODILY HARM. THIS IS THE LAST FORD I WILL EVER OWN, PERIOD. THEY DO NOT STAND BY THEIR INEPT ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS AND CUSTOMERS ARE PAYING THE PRICE.
WHEN DRIVING THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SHUDDER AND LOST POWER. THE VEHICLES ENGINE BLEW AND SUBSEQUENTLY LOST POWER AND I HAD TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE RIDE ROAD. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF REPORTS ONLINE OF PEOPLE HAVING THEIR ECO-BOOST ENGINES BLOW DUE TO A MOISTURE ISSUE IN FORDS DESIGN. FORD ISSUED A TSB NOT A RECALL FOR THE PROBLEM AND HAVE LAST MANY MOTORIST INCLUDING MY SELF AT DANGER AS THE ENGINES CAN GO WITHOUT WARNING. FORD HAS DENIED MY CLAIM I MADE THROUGH THEM AS WELL AS MANY OTHERS PASSING THEM OFF AS LACK OF MAINTENANCE AND OUT OF WARRANTY. HOWEVER, MY TRUCK HAS BEEN SERVICED AND WELL TAKEN CARE OFF. RESEARCH SHOWS THAT PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE HAPPEN AT VARIOUS MILLAGE CONDITIONS WHILE SOME HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED THE ISSUE AT ALL. FORD HAS FAILED TO PROVIDE INSIGHT INTO WHY THIS HAPPENS AND A GUARANTEE IT CAN BE PREVENTED.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, there was a loud rattling sound coming from the engine compartment. Additionally, while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would not properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. During the failure, the check engine warning light illuminated and the engine vibrated and lost compression while attempting to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to replace the cam phasers; however, approximately three months later the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 55,000.
Not sure if it is the powertrain or the intercooler for the turbos but when you press the gas to get on the highway or at high speed on the highway and press the gas the check engine light blinks and the vehichal goes into limp mode. Easy to recreate and doesnt seem like ford has a recall for it or even a fix. Every eco boost truck ever made seems to have this issue and if you get rear ended because of it , that sounds like a safety hazard to me. The only fix I have seen from the f150 forums to youtube or anywhere on google is to drill a 1/16 hole in the intercooler and let sludge and condensation drip all over the place. Does not sound like a great fix to me.Not even sure if the intercooler is the culprit or if it's the power train.Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

THIS IS SUCH A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN THAT ALL F150S WITH THIS POTENTIAL PROBLEM SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN UNTIL REPAIRED. WITH ALL OF THE SAFETY MEASURES AND COMPANIES SUCH AS YOU GUYS WHY ON EARTH IS THIS TRULY LIFE THREATENING ISSUE ALLOWED? APPARENTLY, THE 2013 MODEL IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM? STOPPED AGAIN 3 TIMES AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IN DANGEROUS SITUATIONS A FEW MONTHS LATER. THE SECOND TIME TO A MECHANIC THE PROBLEM WAS DISCOVERED TO BE UNDERSIZE FUSE PORT ON FUSE BLOCK AND FUSE RELOCATE KIT FORD (EL3Z-14293-A) WAS INSTALLED. THIS SEEMS TO BE KNOWN PROBLEM AND OWNERS SHOULD BE ADVISED AS THE VEHICLE LOSES COMPLETE POWER SOMETIMES CREATING A DANGEROUS SITUATION. FUSE AMPERAGE IS ADEQUATE BUT TERMINALS ARE TOO SMALL, IT IS MOVED TO A LARGER TERMINAL AREA ON FUSE BLOCK, THIS SEEMS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED.

UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT LINKED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V433000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 116,000.

I'm not lying when I say the vehicle started going faster and faster when I didn't hit the gas pedal. The brakes wouldn't work!
Vehicle accelerated without driver pressing gas pedal and RPM gauge jumped up to 5 (which is red zone). Brake pedal went to the floor when brakes were applied instead of causing the vehicle to stop. Emergency brake was used, and driver lost control of the vehicle resulting in a terrible accident. The crash caused injuries to driver and the death of a bicyclist.
