JANUARY 28, 2019 REAR ELECTRIC SLIDING WINDOW (3 PIECE UNIT) SHATTERED FOR NO REASON. NO ONE HIT IT, THROW ANYTHING AT IT, OR SHOT IT. THE SOUND DOES SOUND LIKE A SOMEONE SHOT AT YOU. THE TRUCK WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVE WARMING UP AS USUAL (ELECTRIC START), GET IN, CLOSE THE DOOR AND BOOM THE DRIVER SIDE REAR WINDOW PANEL SHATTERS. TAKE IT BACK TO THE PLACE WE BOUGHT IT AND THEY TOLD US THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. WARRANTY WOULD NOT COVER EITHER. SAFELIGHT ORDERED US A WINDOW, INSTALLED IT, AND PROCEEDED TO TELL US THAT THIS HAS HAPPEN TO MANY FORD TRUCKS BEFORE. WE WERE DODGE TRUCK PEOPLE UNTIL THE AIR BAG RECALL, CHANGED TO FORD AND THIS HAPPENS, WHATS NEXT? THIS SEEMS LIKE A BIG PROBLEM WHEN FORD HAS NUMEROUS PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM ALL OVER THE U.S. THIS HAS HAPPENED ONCE, WILL IT HAPPEN AGAIN? I SURE HOPE NOT. IF IT SHOULD HAPPEN WHEN I HAVE MY CHILDREN WITH ME OR MY ELDERLY PARENTS WITH ME, GOD FORBID THEY SHOULD GET HURT BY GLASS, I WILL BE SUING. OR EVEN CAUSE ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT WHILE DRIVING.
WHILE IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY AND CITY STREETS THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTS FROM HIGH GEAR TO LOW GEAR. THIS CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO DRAMATICALLY DECELERATE AND OVER REV THE MOTOR. A CODE DOES NOT APPEAR WHEN THE EVENT HAPPENS. OCCASIONALLY A CODE APPEARS THAT LOOKS LIKE A WRENCH. WHEN THIS CODE APPEARS THE SPEEDOMETER QUITS WORKING. THE CODE WILL NOT STAY ON LONG ENOUGH TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT.. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THEY HAVE DONE A BUMP START AND CHANGED TRANSMISSION FLUID / FILTERS. IT WAS GOOD FOR A MONTH THEN STARTED AGAIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR ON ITS OWN, THE BRAKES SEIZED, AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FOUR SEASONS FORD (601 DUNCAN HILL RD, HENDERSONVILLE, NC 28792, 828-693-4281) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 93,596. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TRANSMISSION ISSUE. F-150 SHIFTS FROM 6TH TO 1ST GEAR WHEN DRIVING AT 60 MPH. SPEEDOMETER DROPS TO ZERO FOR 2-3 SECONDS ALONG WITH TACHOMETER SPIKING. QUICKLY SHIFT TO MANUAL AND VEHICLE RECOVERS. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME LAST 3 MORNINGS AND AM TAKING TO DEALER TOMORROW. F-150 HAS 74500 MILES ON IT AND HAVE NOT HAD ANY OTHER ISSUES, BUT THIS IS A BIG SAFETY CONCERN WITH SOME OF THE OTHER COMPLAINTS I HAVE READ. I'M WORRIED THE TIRES ARE GOING TO LOCK UP AND I'M GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IF THE ISSUE IS NOT REPAIRED. I'M HOPING THE DEALER COVERS THE REPAIR UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT WITHOUT THE CODES I'M WORRIED IT WILL BE A ARGUMENT. PLEASE ADD 2013 F-150'S TO THE RECALL! I'VE READ THE LEAD FRAME TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO 1ST GEAR WHEN IN 6TH. RAN OFF THE ROAD ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. CALLED CORPORATE AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSTICS. BAD MOLDED LEAD FRAME. ORDERED PARTS,DEALERSHIP OPENED UP PAN AND FOUND METAL SHAVINGS. DID NOT INSTALL PARTS BECAUSE THEY SAID TRANNY WAS NO GOOD. FORD DOES NOT WANT TO FIX DAMAGED TRANNY ALTHOUGH VEHICLE NOW HAS RECALL FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE. CONTACTED BOTH CORPORATE AND DEALERSHIP AND PRETTY MUCH TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY CAN DO, ALTHOUGH THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD FIX ISSUE. I BEEN LIED TOO, MADE BELIEVED THAT ISSUE WAS GOING TO BE FIXED. ITS BEEN OVER A MONTH OF BACK AND FORTH CHIRPING WITH BOTH CORPORATE AND DEALERSHIP AND IM TIRED OF THIS SICK GAME OF MAKING CUSTOMERS BELIEVE THEY WILL FIX THE ISSUE AND TURN RIGHT BACK AROUND AND SAY NO. IM STUCK AND IN DISBELIEVE. IM MAKING A HUGE DEAL BECAUSE I HAD MY 6MONTH OLD BOY IN THE BACKSEAT WHEN THIS HAPPEND AND FORD COULD HAVE CARED LESS.
MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY DOWN SHIFTS INTO 3RD THEN 1ST GEAR WHILE TRAVELING. I WAS TRAVELING AT 60 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHIFTED INTO 3RD THEN 1ST GEAR. THIS CASED THE TIRES TO SKID ON THE ROADWAY, NEARLY CAUSING ME TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I SEE THERE WAS A PREVIOUS INVESTIGATION INTO THIS VERY PROBLEM, BUT 2013 YEAR MODELS ARE NOT INCLUDED.
EARLY COLD MORNING REAR WINDOW DEFROST WAS ON WHEN THE BACK REAR DRIVER SIDE GLASS EXPLODED. WAS DRIVING TO WORK NOTHING WAS AROUND THIS GLASS. IT HAD BEEN ON ABOUT 15 MINUTES WHEN IT HAPPENED. VERY LOUD POP AT 60 MPH ON A FOUR LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY.
REAR DRIVER SIDE BACK GLASS SHATTERED WHILE DRIVING. VEHICLE WAS AT TEMP. WHEN FAILURE OCCURRED, WITH REAR DEFROSTER RUNNING. WAS TRAVELING TO WORK AT 60 MPH WHEN LOUD BLAST OCCURRED IN VEHICLE. I LOOK AROUND TO SEE IF I HAD HIT SOMETHING WHEN I LOOKED IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR I NOTED THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE BACK GLASS WAS SHATTERED AND THE THE REAR DEFROST THAT WAS ON WAS NOW OFF. OUTSIDE TEMP. PER VEHICLE DISPLAY WAS -9 CURRENT MILES ON VEHICLE AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT WAS 59,278. ROAD CONDITIONS WERE ICY DUE TO TIME OF YEAR AND RESENT WINTER STORM. LOSS OF CONTROL OF VEHICLE AND POTENTIAL FATAL IMPACT COULD HAVE OCCURRED AS THE SOUND WAS INTENSE AND DID CAUSE ME TO JERK THE WHEEL. CONTACTED DEALER DUE TO MODEL YEAR THEY STATED THE ISSUE WAS NOT COVERED AT THE DEALER LEVEL AND I WOULD HAVE TO ESCALATE TO FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE STATED THAT THERE IS NO OPEN CLAIMS/WARRANTY FOR THIS ISSUE AT THIS TIME SO KEEP MY RECEIPT SO IF THERE IS IN THE FUTURE I CAN BE REIMBURSED.
TAKATA RECALL. LEAD FRAME. TRANSMISSION PART RECALLED IN 2012 AND 2011 F150. DRIVING 20 UPHILL MECHANIC LIGHT CAME ON GLAD I WASN'T ON THE HIGHWAY.
WHILE DRIVING AT A SPEED OF 60MPH ON THE FREEWAY, THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR AND REVVED VERY HIGH. LEAVING ME STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE TRUCK WENT BACK INTO GEAR, ALMOST CAUSING ME TO GET REAR-ENDED. THIS HAPPENED TWO OTHER TIMES WHILE DRIVING. ANOTHER TIME WHILE DRIVING, ALL THE GAUGES WENT BLANK. I COULD NOT SEE MY SPEED OR ANY OTHER INDICATOR. AFTER PULLING OVER, I TURNED MY TRUCK OFF AND RESTARTED IT WITH NO ISSUES. I NOW HAVE MY TRUCK IN THE SHOP, AND THE LIST OF ISSUES KEEPS GROWING. I ONLY HAVE 62,000 MILES AND ALREADY SEEING SOME MAJOR ISSUES.
WHEN STARTING THE TRUCK AND PUTTING INTO DRIVE, THE TRANSMISSION WILL SHIFT INTO 5TH GEAR AND REMAIN THERE. I HAVE TO PULL OVER, STOP THE VEHICLE, PLACE THE TRANSMISSION INTO PARK AND RESTART THE ENGINE TO CLEAR THIS ERROR. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY YESTERDAY, MY TRUCK SUDDENLY SHIFTED INTO THIRD GEAR. I THEN RECOVERED SHORTLY INTO FIFTH GEAR BEFORE GOING INTO 6TH GEAR. THE SHIFTING IS NOW INTERMITTENTLY WONKY.
DRIVER'S SIDE REAR WINDOW PANE SHATTERED/SPIDERWEBBED AFTER USING REMOTE START. ENTERED STATIONARY VEHICLE TEN MINUTES AFTER USING REMOTE START, NOTICED BURNT PLASTIC ODOR, HEARD LOUD BANG AND LOOKED IN REARVIEW MIRROR TO FIND REAR WINDOW PANE HAD SHATTERED.
OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR FAILURE CAUSING TRANSMISSION TO GET STUCK IN GEAR. OCCASIONALLY IT WILL SHIFT DOWN IN GEAR AS YOU ARE ACCELERATING CAUSING A STALLING EFFECT TO THE TRUCK. HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES TO MY YOUNG SON WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT FULL SPEED. SPEEDOMOTER WILL ALSO GO COMPLETELY DEAD. USUALLY PULLING OVER CUTTING OFF THE TRUCK, WAITING AND RESTARTING WILL TAKE IT OUT OF THE 5TH OR 1ST GEAR IT IS STUCK IN. SOMETIMES THIS TAKES SEVERAL TRIES. VERY UNSAFE ON THE SIDE OF A BUSY ROAD! HAD 2 TRANSMISSION SHOPS RUN DIAGNOSTICS AND IT IS THE FAULTY SPEED SENSOR REQUIRING ENTIRE LEAD FRAME TO BE REPLACED. BOTH SHOPS TOLD ME TO REACH OUT TO FORD BEFORE I PAY TO HAVE IT REPAIRED WITH THEM. SAME PROBLEM AS PREVIOUS FORD TRUCK MODELS '11 AND '12 THAT FORD HAS RECALLED BUT FORD WILL TAKE NO LIABILITY FOR THIS MALFUNCTION. CALLED 2 FORD DEALERSHIPS THAT BOTH PLAYED DUMB TO THE WELL DOCUMENTED PROBLEM. CALLED FORD ITSELF AND SPOKE TO A CSR I PRESUME IN ANOTHER COUNTRY FROM THE BROKEN ENGLISH THAT SAID ONLY THERE IS NO RECALL...ABSOLUTELY NO HELP OR INFORMATION FROM FORD. I AM HAVING THIS REPAIRED ON MY OWN DIME AS IT IS THREATENING THE LIFE OF MY SON AND EVERYONE ELSE ON THE ROAD. SHAME ON FORD!
WE WERE DRIVING AT 60 MPH AND ALL OF A SUDDEN IT DOWN SHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR EXPECTANTLY LOCKING UP THE REAR TIRES AND ALMOST CAUSING US TO CRASH. TURNED THE TRUCK OFF THEN BACK ON AND IT TOOK ME TO WORK. LATER THAT DAY WENT TO LUNCH AND THE TRANSMISSION WILL SLIP AND NOT GO ANYWHERE, TURN IT OFF THEN BACK ON AND IT WILL GO AGAIN NOT FAR, BUT WILL GO AND HAS NO POWER THE DASH GOES DEAD THE SPEEDOMETER GOES TO JUST ------------- THIS A HUGE WRENCH COMES UP ON THE DASH. TOOK IT TO FORD AND THE SAY THE TRANS IS BROKEN. I NOTICE MANY OTHER FORDS ARE RECALLED FOR THIS .. PLEASE EXPAND THIS TO THE 13 YEAR MODEL AS I CANT AFFORD 4,000$ WHEN THE RECKER CAME TO GET IT, HE DROVE IT UP ONTO THE FLATBED, HE PUT IT IN PARK AND PROCEEDED TO GET OUT AND IT ROLLED DOWN THE RECKER (IN PARK) PLEASE HELP, SOMEBODY'S GONNA DIE SOON!!

A LOANER VEHICLE WOULD NOT BE PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,900.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PARKWAY FORD LINCOLN (311 COMMERCIAL PKWY, DOVER, OH 44622) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MOLDED LEAD FRAME FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.
WINDSHIELD WASHERS DO NOT OPERATE BELOW BELOW 25 DEG F EVEN IF RESERVOIR IS EMPTIED OF SUMMER FLUID AND FILLED WITH -20 DEGREE F WINTER FLUID AT END OF SUMMER AND PURGED BY RUNNING PUMP BEFORE COLD WEATHER. WASHER PUMP MOTOR RUNS WHEN ACTUATED SO PROBLEM APPEARS POSSIBLY CHECK VALVE OR NOZZLES AT COWL. COWL AREA CLEARED OF SNOW AND ICE. VERY ANGEROUS VISIBILITY CONDITION ESPECIALLY DURING NIGHT DRIVING AS WINDSHIELD REMAINS SMEARED FROM OTHER VEHICLES.
EXPERIENCED COMMON EPAS FAILURE MULTIPLE TIMES. HAVE EXPERIENCED AT HIGH SPEEDS, LOSING CONTROL OF ALL STEERING. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN WELL DOCUMENTED ALL OVER THE INTERNET, AND IS ACTUALLY A RECALL IN SOME FORD VEHICLES, INCLUDING THE 2014. BUT THEY HAVE NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR THE 2013. THIS IS A MAJOR CONCERN AND SAFETY ISSUE. I'VE RECEIVED THIS ISSUE WHEN VEHICLE GETS WET FROM RAIN OR CAR WASH. AND I'VE ALSO EXPERIENCED IT WHEN HITTING A BUMP AT BOTH LOW SPEEDS AND HIGH SPEEDS. SUCH AS A BRIDGE DECK SEAM ON THE FREEWAY, POTHOLE, RUMBLE STRIPS, GRAVEL ROAD WASHBOARD ETC. WHEN HITTING THESE BUMPS, OR WHEN CAUSED DUE TO MOISTURE, "SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC" MESSAGE COMES ON DASH, AND ALL POWER STEERING IS LOST UNTIL VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF AND STARTED AGAIN. NOT ONLY IS THIS AN EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE FIX, IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, AND COULD PUT A DRIVER IN A LIFE AND DEATH SITUATION. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BY FORD ON ALL VEHICLES THEY MANUFACTURED WITH THIS EPAS SYSTEM IN IT.
LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING. IN A PARKING LOT, I WAS VERY FORTUNATE I WAS NOT GOING DOWN THE ROAD OR IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. THE TRUCK IS VERY HARD TO TURN, AND CANNOT BE DRIVEN AT THIS TIME UNTIL REPAIRED.
VEHICLE ERRATICALLY SHIFTS FROM 6 GEAR TO 1ST GEAR,CAUSING TIRES TO LOCK UP. SAME ISSUE IS RECALLED IN 2011-2012 F150, BUT NOT COVERED IN 2013. VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE.

WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BATTERY CABLE WAS REMOVED AND THEN RE-INSTALLED, AND THE VEHICLE FUNCTIONED NORMALLY. AFTER DRIVING 5 MILES AT 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO DECELERATE AND LOST POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LANDERS FORD SOUTH (95 GOODMAN RD E, SOUTHAVEN, MS 38671, (662) 349-4300) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPEED SHAFT SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE "DOWNHILL DESCENT" AND POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. ALSO, THE POWER STEERING SEIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE RACK AND PINION FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 38,000.
IN NORMAL CITY STREET, WITH MY FAMILY, IT'S SUDDENLY HAPPENED WITH NO ANY SPEED MAYBE BELOW THE 40KM,
MINE JUST HAPPENED LAST WEEK. SAME THING, I LIVE IN PA AND IT HAS BEEN COLD HERE IN THE MORNINGS AND I USE MY AUTO-START. I GOT IN TO GO TO WORK AND STARTED DOWN THE ROAD AND WENT TO PUT THE REAR DEFROST ON AND THE LIGHT WOULD NOT COME ON SHOWING THAT IT WAS WORKING. I DEPRESSED THE BUTTON SEVERAL TIMES BUT NO LIGHT. IT'S DARK WHEN I HEAD INTO TO WORK SO I COULD NOT SEE THE BACK WINDOW VERY GOOD. AFTER WORK I LEFT TO GO HOME AND AGAIN WENT TO DEPRESS THE REAR DEFROSTER BUTTON AND IT WOULDN'T COME ON. WHEN I LOOKED IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR, I COULD SEE THAT THE DRIVERS SIDE PORTION OF MY REAR WINDOW WAS SHATTERED. IT WAS STILL IN PLACE BUT THERE WAS A MILLION FRACTURED PIECES I'M ASSUMING BEING HELD IN PLACE BY THE TINT FILM. WITH THE WINDOW STILL IN PLACE I COULD CLEARLY SEE THAT IT HAD NOT BEEN HIT BY ANYTHING. THERE WERE NO MARKINGS ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE FILM AS IT WAS STILL IN ONE PIECE. IF YOU GO TO THE FORD AUTHORITY SITE THERE ARE HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF THESE OCCURRENCES. FORD SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS.
THE TRUCK GETS STUCK IN FIRST GEAR AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS SHUT OFF AND TURNED ON AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET AND WOULD NOT ADVANCE TO SECOND GEAR.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.

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
UNEXPECTEDLY DOWN SHIFT INTO 1 GEAR FROM 4TH WHILE DRIVING 30+ MPH, LOCAL STREET DRIVING: HAPPENED 4 TIMES, EACH TIME I WAS ON AN UP HILL INCLINE, ADDING POWER TO INCREASE SPEED. 1ST THING THAT WOULD HAPPEN IS A LOSS OF TORQUE, SHORTLY AFTER THE GEAR WOULD DROP FROM 4TH OR 5TH TO 1ST AND THE DRIVE TRAIN WOULD ACT AS A BREAK RAPIDLY BRINGING THE TRUCK TO A NEAR STOP. SPEEDOMETER AND ODOMETER WOULD ZERO OUT.I COULD GET IT TO RESET AFTER A WHILE.
EARLY THIS MORNING (JAN 9, 2019) MY HUSAND REMOTED STARTED HIS 2013 F150 TO HEAT IT UP BEFORE WE LEFT FOR WORK (IT WAS MIDE 30'S OUTSIDE). AFTER RUNNING FOR ABOUT 10 MIN WE GOT IN AND BEFORE EVEN BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY WE HEARD A LOUD POP. IT SOUNDED LIKE SOMEONE SHOT OUR BACK WINDOW WITH A GUN. WE SAW THE BACK WINDOW DIRECTLY BEHIND THE DRIVER'S SEAT WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED. THE TINT FILM HELD IT ALL TOGETHER, BUT IT WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED. WE GOT OUT TO SEE IF A BIRD FLEW INTO IT OR TO FIND ANY REASON AND NOTICED THERE WASN'T EVEN A PUNCTURE TO THE WINDOW FROM OUTSIDE. IT WAS JUST COMPLETELY SHATTERED FROM THE INSIDE OUT. MY HUSBAND WILL SPEND TODAY FINDING SOMEONE TO REPAIR AND WE'VE NOW LOOKED IT UP AND FOUND MANY COMMENTS OF OTHERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP US ALL AND URGE FORD TO ISSUE A RECALL?
REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER/OUTSIDE DOOR MIRROR DEFROSTERS ARE INOPERATIVE. PROBLEM WAS FIXED WHILE UNDER WARRANTY AT 34,164 MILES ALTHOUGH ALSO FAILED AGAIN WHEN OUT OF WARRANTY. WHILE NOT POSITIVE, PROBLEM COULD STILL BE FAULTY ELECTRICAL CONTACT DESIGN ON REAR WINDOW SLIDING CENTER GLASS AS PREVIOUS FAILURE. MALFUNCTION CREATES A SAFETY ISSUE AS FROST BLOCKS REAR VISIBILITY BOTH FROM DOOR MIRRORS AS WELL AS REAR WINDOW. DEALER NOTES REAR WINDOW ASSEMBLY MUST BE REPLACED BUT WITHOUT MANUFACTURER COST COVERAGE ASSISTANCE.
MY 2013 F-150 IS EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS THAT ARE COVERED UNDER A FORD RECALL FOR 2011 THRU 2012 F150S 16N02 MOLDED LEADFRAME EXTENDED WARRANTY RECALL. THE TRANSMISSION WILL DOWNSHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR ALL BY ITSELF, EVEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, RESULTING IN REAR WHEEL SKIDDING AND TRANSMISSION LOCK-UP.
THE FRIGHTENING ISSUE I EXPERIENCED ON JANUARY 7, 2019 IS IDENTICAL TO THE REPORTS I HAVE SINCE READ REGARDING THIS VEHICLE AND THE FREQUENT ISSUES THAT LED TO THE RECALL FOR 2010-2012 FORD F-150'S FOR UNEXPECTED TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTS [NHTSA RECALL NO. / MFR RECALL NO. : 16V-248 / 16S19]. WHILE DRIVING 65-70 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE, SPEEDOMETER SUDDENLY AND RAPIDLY FLUCTUATED BETWEEN 40 AND 70, THEN TRANSMISSION ABRUPTLY DROPPED FROM 6TH/5TH GEAR TO 1ST GEAR. AS A RESULT, MY WHEELS LOCKED AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SKID INTO THE LANE TO MY RIGHT, FORCING OTHER CARS TO SWERVE OUT OF MY WAY TO AVOID A HIGH SPEED COLLISION. IT HAPPENED SO FAST, AND WITHOUT WARNING, THAT IT WAS DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND WHAT WAS ACTUALLY OCCURRING. ONCE STOPPED (IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSTATE), I DROVE TO THE MEDIAN, TURNED THE ENGINE OFF, SAT FOR A FEW MINUTES TO GATHER MY THOUGHTS, RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND DROVE IT SLOWLY TO MY FORD DEALERSHIP (NOT ON THE HIGHWAY). AFTER INSPECTING MY TRUCK, THE FORD DEALERSHIP VERIFIED THE ISSUE AND STATED THE FOLLOWING (WRITTEN REPORT ATTACHED): RAN KOEC GOT CODE P0720 OSS SENSOR CIRCUIT FAULT, RAN PINPOINT TESTS, FOUND OPEN IN OSS SENSOR WHICH IS PART OF THE MOLDED LEAD FRAME ATTACHED TO THE VALVE BODY, REMOVED THE VALVE BODY, DISSASEMBLED, CLEANED AND INSPECTED THE VALUE BODY, ALL VALVES AND BORES ARE OK, REASSEMBLED VALVE BODY WITH NEW MOLDED LEAD FRAME ASSEMBLY AND NEW REVISED SEPARATOR PLATE GASKET, INSTALLED NEW CLUTCH FEED TUBE SEALS AND SEAL BETWEEN VALVE BODY AND FLUID PUMP, INSTALLED NEW FLUID FILTER AND PAN GASKET, FILLED TRANSMISSION WITH NEW FLUID REPROGRAMMED PCM AND CLEARED DTCS, VERIFIED REPAIRS. DESPITE PARALLELS TO THE PREVIOUS RECALL ISSUE, FORD INFORMED ME IT IS NOT COVERED (THERE IS NOTHING I COULD HAVE DONE TO PREVENT IT) AND THE TOTAL COST TO ME WAS $1,418.83. PLEASE EXPAND THE RECALL - IT WILL SAVE LIVES.
2011 - 2015 PHASERS AND TIMING CHAIN
ON 4 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS WHILE IN REVERSE TRUCK IMMEDIATELY STOPPED AS IF I HAD BACKED INTO AN OBJECT PARKING LOT. TWO TIMES WHILE DRIVING APRROXIMATELY 45 TO 50 MPH MY VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY INCREASED RPMS, AGAIN IT FELT AS IF SOMEONE REAR ENDED ME. MOST RECENT VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT. MANUAL SHIFT OPTION WORKED. RESTARTED MOTOR 4 TIMES HOPING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. VEHICLE NEVER SHIFTED OUT OF 5TH. AS TRAVELING, SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING, AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON, ODOMETER DISPLAY WENT TO DASHES, TRACTION CONTROL STOPPED WORKING, WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON, DISPLAY FOR GEARS WAS EITHER 5TH OR 3RD DEPENDING ON SPEED. AT ABOUT 55 MPH THE VEHICLE PERFORMED A HARD JERK, HIGH RPMS, ALMOST BRINGING ME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN HEAVY TRAFFIC HIGHWAY. AGAIN AS IF SOMEONE REAR ENDED ME. FINALLY LIMPED HOME. NOW I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. MY 5 YEAR WARRANTY EXPIRED 10-23-2018. CONTACTED FORD DEALER NOT IN RECALL AND WARRANTY OUT SO IT'S MONEY OUT OF MY POCKET. THIS IS SO DISHEARTENING TO KNOW IT'S A FACTORY DEFAULT YET FORD WILL NOT HONOR THE REPAIRS.

MY VEHICLE WAS DOWN SHIFTING WHEN I WAS IN 5 AND 6 GEAR. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP (WHICH TOOK 3 MONTHS). THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY TRUCK BUT DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP, AND THEY FOUND A RECALL NOTICE. THEY TRY TO FIX THE ISSUE WITH REPROGRAMING. HOWEVER, IT NEVER CORRECTED THE ISSUES. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT FORD HAD TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I NOW AVOID GOING OVER ANY BIG HILLS, BRIDGES AND HIGHWAYS TO PREVENT MY VEHICLE FROM DOWNSHIFTING. IN THIS WHOLE PROCESS MY VEHICLE HASN'T BEEN RECORDING THE CORRECT MILEAGE AND NOW I HAVE HIGHER MILES THEN I SHOULD. I BOUGHT MY VEHICLE A LITTLE MORE THEN A YEAR AGO AND NEARLY HAS 30,000 MILES ON IT. I ONLY DRIVE TO AND FROM WORK A TOTAL OF 12 MILES A DAY FOR 5 DAYS. THIS ERROR IN PROGRAMING I FEEL HAS CAUSE OTHER DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE BESIDES THE DOWNSHIFTING AND ADDING EXTRA MILES. IF FORD COULD HAVE CORRECTED THIS PROBLEM IN TIMELY MANNER IT COULD HAVE SAVE THE TRUCK, BUT DUE THE DEALERSHIPS HAVING NO CLUE HOW TO FIX IT. MY TRUCK IS NICE PAPER WEIGHT.

I HAD RANDOM ISSUES WHERE IT WOULD SLIP FROM 2ND TO 5TH STARTING FROM A STOP. THEN I HAD IT SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFT FROM 4TH TO 1ST WHEN GOING ABOUT 50MPH, ENOUGH TO CHIRP THE TIRES.

OTHER TIMES WHILE DRIVING 60MPH+ THE SPEEDO NEEDLE WILL GO TO 0MPH AND TRANSMISSION IS UNRESPONSIVE. IN ALL CASES THE VEHICLE MUST BE PULLED OVER, TUNED OFF AND RESTARTED TO CORRECT HE ISSUE. IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN WHEN THERE IS NO SAFE AREA TO PULL OFF OF THE ROAD. THIS HAS BEEN AN ON GOING ISSUE FOR A FEW MONTHS. SUSPECTED LEAD FRAME FAILURE.
