ERATIC DOWNSHIFTING, TRANSMISSION SOMETIME WOULD SHIFT TO A LOW GEAR WHILE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, CAUSING TIRES TO LOCK UP. VEHICLE ALSO WOULD GET STUCK IN HIGH GEAR MAKING ACCELERATION FROM A STOP IN AN ACTIVE ROADWAY IMPOSSIBLE AS CAR WOULD NOT MOVE
19S07 TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTING FROM 6TH TO 1ST. I EXPERIENCED THE EXACT SYMPTOMS FOR THE RECALL. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER LOU FUSZ THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A TRANMISSION SENSOR AND STATED IT WOULD BE OVER $900 TO FIX IT. THE WORK WAS PERFORMED AND THE TRUCK HAS NOT DONE IT SINCE. I RECEIVED THE NOTICE AND CALLED FORD AND THEY ARE DENYING THE CLAIM TO REIMBURSE FOR THE REPAIRS THAT WERE MADE BECAUSE THE TRUCK HAD DONE THE DOWNSHIFT MORE THAN 10 TIMES. THE LAST TIME WAS THE ONLY TIME FORD DEALER TOLD ME THEY FOUND THE SOLUTION. THIS IS NOT BEEN HANDLED CORRECTLY AND I AM NOT WANTING TO TAKE THE TRUCK BACK ON THE HIGHWAY AFTER GOING FROM 70 MPH DOWN TO 1ST GEAR LOCKING UP THE TRUCK AND SLIDING.
WHILE TRAVELING IN 4TH GEAR, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY WENT INTO 1ST GEAR. IT WOULD NOT GO OUT OF 1ST GEAR UNTIL I SHUT IT OFF AND RESTARTED. HAPPENED AGAIN BEFORE I GOT IT HOME. DEALER REPLACED THE LEAD FRAME HARNESS, COST $1025.00. THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. VEHICLE HAD 60844 MILES ON ODOMETER.
WHILE TRAVELING AT 55 MPH THE TRUCK SHIFTED FROM 6 TO 3RD GEAR LOCKING UP THE REAR END. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND NOTICED THE SPEEDOMETER WAS NOT OPERATING. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND FUNCTIONALITY RETURNED.
2013 FORD F-150 TRAVELING 65MPH ALL OF A SUDDEN WILL DOWN SHIFT TO FIRST GEAR CAUSEING THE VEHICLE TO ALMOST INSTANTLY STOP IN TRAFFIC! FORD HAD A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE BUT WILL NOT ASSIST WITH FIX SINCE MY VEHICLE IS NOT UNDER THE RECALL! TOLD ME TO GO TO DEALER TO GET A $120 DIAGNOSTIC, BUT ONCE IT HAPPENS THE CODES CLEAR 60 SECONDS AFTER AND CAN NOT BE FOUND AT DEALERSHIP. SO FORD BASICALLY TOLD ME TO KEEP DRIVING IT TILL IT HAPPENS AGAIN AND HOPE I'M NEAR A DEALERSHIP
I WOKE UP IN EARLY MORNING TO LEAVE FOR WORK. I BACKED OUT OF MY DRIVE WAY AND PUSHED BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP TRUCK AND PUT IT IN DRIVE, BUT THE TRUCK ROLLED DOWN AN HILL AND INTO TREES. WHILE PUSHING THE BRAKE PEDAL IT WENT TO THE FLOOR LIKE I HAD NO BRAKES AT ALL. THE TRUCK DID NOT STOP TILL IT WAS IN THE TREE. MY BRAKE FLUID IS LOW WHICH IS A SIGN OF THE PROPOSED RECALL WHICH FORD IS DISPUTING. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND FORD SAYS THEY ARE NOT AWARE OF THE PROBLEM ALTHOUGH AFTER LOOKING ONLINE, IT SHOWS THEY ARE BEING INVESTIGATED DUE TO THE ISSUES WITH THE BRAKE BOOSTER BOX AND MASTER CYLINDER MALFUNCTIONING. PLEASE HELP US MAKE FORD RECALL THESE BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR DIES. MY TRUCK IS ALSO SHOWING BRAKE FLUID HAS BEEN USED, ITS ABOUT 1/2 FULL NOW. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE FOUND WHEN THE MASTER CYLINDER PROBLEM IS IN THE TRUCK.
WHILE DRIVING MY TRUCK'S SPEEDOMETER WILL SHUT DOWN, AS WELL AS THE OTHER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, EXCEPT MY TACH. IT WILL THEN GO INTO "LIMP MODE" UNTIL I'M ABLE TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RECYCLE THE ENGINE. THE CODE THE COMPUTER IS SHOWING INDICATES AN OUTPUT POWER SPEED SENSOR. THIS WOULD ALSO INDICATE A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LEADFRAME. I WAS WONDERING WHY THERE IS NO RECALL ON 2013 F150 WHILE SHARING THE SAME 6R80 TRANSMISSION AND CAUSING THE SAME PROBLEMS?
WAS DRIVING VEHICLE WITH DOORS LOCKED TOOK A CORNER AND THE DOOR LOCK FAILED AND THE DOOR FLEW OPEN ALONG WITH A LOT OF PERSONAL ITEMS, THEN A FEW DAYS LATER THE OTHER DOOR DID THE SAME THING, THE DOOR LATCH FAILED AND THE DOOR SWUNG OPEN! 2011 AND 2012 FORD F-150 HAVE A RECALL ON THIS BUT FORD SAYS MY TRUCK DOES NOT!

MY 2013 FORD F-150 FX4 3.5L V6 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IS JUMPING, GETS STUCK IN THE FIRST GEAR OR SOMETIMES 5TH GEAR. HAVE TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND THEN SOMETIMES SHUT IT OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON. DRIVING AT 30 MILES AN HOUR AT TIMES IT WOULD JUMP AND BUCK HARD. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. THEY HAD IT FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THIS ISSUE IS VERY IRRITATING AND IT FEELS VERY DANGEROUS TO ME. TRYING TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND THEN THE TRANSMISSION STARTS TO JUMP AROUND OR IS STUCK IN 5TH AND YOU CANT GET MOVING IS DANGEROUS. THE DEALER WOULD NOT OFFER A REPAIR BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM WHILE THEY HAD IT. BUT OF COURSE IT HAPPENED ON THE WAY HOME AFTER I PICKED IT UP. IT IS RANDOM, BUT HAPPENS EVERY FEW DAYS.
BRAKE FLUID LEVEL SENSOR CAME ON WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. NO BRAKES AFTER THAT POINT. COASTED OFF THE HIGHWAY, CHECKED FLUID LEVEL, EMPTY. ADDED 20 OZ TO MAX FILL LEVEL, LEAKED OUT INSIDE OF 6 MINUTES. TOWED TO DEALERSHIP, REPLACED BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER UNDER FORD RECALL 16S24. NOT SURE BOOSTER WAS REPLACED. ISSUE IS I CHECK MY FLUID LEVEL EVERY WEEK BEFORE GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY, I KNEW THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED MARCH 2017, BUT WITH MY FLUID LEVEL STANDING FULL, DIDN'T THINK IT WAS AN ISSUE, I HAD PLANS TO DO THE RECALL IN OCT. THIS IS NOT A SLOW LEAK, THIS IS A FULL ON SEAL FAILURE WITH DRAINING OF THE RESERVOIR INSIDE 6 MINUTES WITH THE TRUCK PARKED. WHEN THAT LIGHT COMES ON, YOU ARE DONE WITH BRAKES. I JUST WANTED YOU TO KNOW THIS IS A SUDDEN AND TOTAL LOSS OF FLUID AND NOT JUST A "LEAK". AND THERE ARE NO REAR BRAKES, YOU DON'T JUST LOOSE THE FRONT BRAKES, YOU HAVE ZERO BRAKES. DIDN'T HAVE TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, WAS ABLE TO COAST TO A STOP IN THE PARKING LOT OF A GAS STATION.
I TOOK MY TRUCK INTO RED MCCOMBS FORD IN SAN ANTONIO, TX BECAUSE I HAD ISSUES WITH MY TRANSMISSION. I CAN BE DRIVING AND IT WOULD REV UP TO 4K RPM WITHOUT MY FOOT ON THE ACCELERATION. THERE ARE TIMES WHEN I'M DRIVING AND IT DROPS INTO 1ST AND JARS ME WHEN IT BOGS DOWN. TOOK IT IN AND WE PAID ALMOST $1000 FOR REPAIRS TO FIX IT SINCE I FEARED FOR MY SAFETY. IT FELT LIKE I HAD NO CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE. THAT WAS IN SEPT 2018..HERE WE ARE MARCH 2019 HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. I TRIED TAKING IT IN, BUT THEY DID NOT HAVE THE OFFER OF A LOANER VEHICLE WHILE THEY FIXED AGAIN, SO I HAVE HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO DRIVE MY TRUCK STILL. I LOVE MY TRUCK...BUT THIS IS SCARY DRIVING LIKE THIS. I DON'T HAVE A CHOICE BECAUSE I HAVE TO GET TO WORK DAILY. I NEED A RELIABLE VEHICLE PER I HAD MAJOR SURGERY LAST SEPT AND HAVE HAD 2 EMERGENCY ROOM TRIPS SINCE AND CANNOT AFFORD TO GET IN A WRECK OR HAVE MY TRUCK GO OUT WITH MY HEALTH ISSUES. I'M AFRAID ALL THE JERKING IS GOING TO CAUSE ME ISSUES WITH MY BACK AND SAFETY OF MY FAMILY. I HAVE HAD TO PULL OVER AND RESTART TRUCK TO GET IT TO QUIT REVVING UP, AND NOT REAR ENDING SOMEONE.
I HAVE A 2013 F150 AND HAVE A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. AFTER MY MECHANIC LOOKED INTO IT HE SAID IT IS THE TIMING CHAIN RATTLING AT START UP. THE TRUCK HAS ONLY 52000 MILES ON IT. BARELY BROKE IN AND NOW HAS A ROUGH IDLE AND LOSS OF POWER WHEN DRIVING. MY MECHANIC CAME UP WITH 4 DIFFERENT CODES SHOWING CAMSHAFT AND CRANKSHAFT POSITION CORRELATIONS. TURBO CHARGER UNDER REST. SYSTEM TO RICH BANK 1 & 2 AND MISFIRE DETECTED AT START UP. THIS IS A 2013 TRUCK WITH 52000 MILES AND FORD IS TELLING ME IT PROBABLY ISN'T UNDER WARRANTY AND COULD COST AROUND $3500 OR MORE TO FIX. I SEE THEY HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS SAME ISSUE WITH THE 2011 & 2012 F150S. INTERNET IS FULL OF THIS SAME ISSUE. HOW CAN THEY GET AWAY WITH IT FOR 3 YEARS AND NO RECALL?
UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS, THE TRANSMISSION CONTROLS COULD FORCE A TEMPORARY DOWNSHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION.
BRAKE FLUID IN RESERVOIR KEEPS GETTING LOW EVERY FEW HOURS AND THE "LOW BRAKE FLUID" LEVEL LIGHT BECOMES ILLUMINATED. THIS STARTED A FEW DAYS AGO AND I JUST SAW A NOTICE FROM GAS BUDDY INFORMING ME OF A RECALL #16S24 THAT MAY BE RELATED TO THIS ISSUE, BUT WHEN I ENTERED MY VIN IN THE NHTSA WEBSITE, THERE IS NO RECALL NOTED FOR MY VEHCILE.
GETTING OFF THE HIGHWAY THE TRUCK WOULD NO SLOW DOWN. IT WOULD NOT SHIFT TO 2ND OR 1ST GEAR. HARD UNCONTROLLED STOP. WHEN TRIED TO START MOVING AGAIN TRUCK LUNGED FORWARD AND STARTED FROM 5TH GEAR. DROVE DIRECTLY TO THE FORD DEALER AS THIS WAS A SAFETY CONCERN. IT SWITCHED GEARS RANDOMLY THE ENTIRE WAY TO THE FORD DEALER FROM THE HIGHWAY. 2013 47K MILES
FOR THE PAST 6 MONTHS I HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUES THAT OTHERS HAVE DESCRIBED. THERE ARE SEVERAL ISSUES HAPPENING. 1. WHEN COMING TO A STOP THEN ACCELERATING, MOST FREQUENTLY AFTER GETTING OFF HIGHWAY/INTERSTATE THE TRUCKS RPMS WILL REV UP TO 4000, BUT THE TRUCK WILL NEVER SHIFT OUT OF 1ST GEAR. I HAVE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND/OR RESTART THE TRUCK BEFORE IT WILL OPERATE NORMALLY. 2. AGAIN STOP FROM OFF HIGHWAY/INTERSTATE WHEN ACCELERATING THE TRUCK WILL SLOWLY MOVE AND IT WILL STILL BE IN 4TH GEAR WHICH WILL EVENTUALLY GET UP TO SPEED AND START TO ACT NORMAL. 3. WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 30-50MPH THE TRUCK WILL SHIFT DOWN TO 1ST GEAR FROM 6/5TH GEAR CASING THE REAR TIRES TO LOCK AND SKID SLOWING THE TRUCK DOWN QUICKLY. I WAS JUST ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD IN TIME TO NOT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. 4. WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE TRUCK WILL JERK LIKE IT DOWN SHIFTED AND SHOWS THE WRENCH ICON AND THEN THE SPEEDOMETER DROPS TO 0MPH WHILE STILL TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD. THE TACHOMETER STILL WORKS, BUT THAT IS ABOUT IT. I HAVE TO RESTART THE TRUCK BEFORE IT WILL START WORKING AGAIN. HAD MECHANIC CHECK FOR CODES, BUT THERE WAS NONE. THIS BEHAVIOR IS VERY ERRATIC AND A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD, I WORRY FOR MY SAFETY. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE.
AS I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON THE HIGHWAY, I STARTED TO STOP AT A RED LIGHT. MY BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WITH VERY MINOR SPEED REDUCTION. I ATTEMPTED TO PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL, BUT HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO ACTUALLY COME TO A STOP. AFTER SOME INVESTIGATION, I WAS TOLD MY MASTER CYLINDER HAD BEEN LEAKING INTO MY BRAKE BOOSTER AND BOTH NEEDED TO BE CHANGED. THIS WAS RECALLED IN 2016, BUT ONLY FOR 2013-2014 F150 WITH A 3.5L ENGINE. SINCE I HAVE A 2013 F150 WITH A 5.0L MINE WAS NOT RECALLED WHICH ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HAVE A WRECK. NOW I AM PAYING OUT OF POCKET TO FIX IT.
I AM HAVING THE ISSUES DESCRIBED IN RQ17010. SOMEWHAT FREQUENTLY WHEN SLOWING DOWN TO A STOP OR DRIVING AT SLOW SPEEDS (I.E. IN PARKING LOTS) I WILL EXPERIENCE A HARSH DOWNSHIFT IN TO 1ST GEAR WHICH WILL CAUSE THE REAR END TO SLIDE IF IT'S SLIPPERY OUT.
AT HIGHWAY SPEED TRANSMISSION WILL DOWNSHIFT TO 1ST GEAR LOCKING REAR TIRES. ENGINE RPMS HIT 5000 TO 6000 REVS. SPEEDO WILL STOP WORKING. HAVE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND RESTART THE TRUCK WHICH RESETS EVERYTHING TILL IT HAPPENS AGAIN. AT TIMES DURING INTOWN DRIVING TRANSMISSION SHIFTS ERRATICALLY.
WHILE DRIVING AND MODERATELY ACCELERATING ONTO FREEWAY YELLOW WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON, BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AND CAR DECELERATED. ACCELERATOR DID NOT WORK AND MOTOR RAN ROUGH. TURNED IGNITION OFF THEN BACK ON AND STARTED CAR. WARNING LIGHTS WENT AWAY AND MOTOR RAN FINE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR INDEPENDENTLY AND SHIFTED OUT OF GEAR WITH NO ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SUPREME FORD (400 E HOWZE BEACH RD, SLIDELL, LA 70461) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LEAD FRAME HARNESS ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000.

WHEN DRIVING 45 MPH OR MORE THE TRANSMISSION WILL SOMETIMES STALL OR DOWNSHIFT AND SLOW DOWN VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE JERKS AND HESITATES.
SOMETIMES VEHICLE WILL START OR GET STUCK IN 5TH GEAR EITHER FROM THE START OR DURING DECELERATION. ENGINE REVS, BUT FORWARD MOTION COMPROMISED. INTERMITTENT SUDDEN DOWNSHIFTING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. GEAR INDICATOR AND TRAMSMISSION POSITION WILL DROP TO 1ST. THIS CAUSES THE REAR WHEELS TO LOCK UP AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND PUT THE VEHICLE INTO A SPIN. PAID FORD DEALERSHIP TO COMPLETE TSB LEAD FRAME REPAIR IN APRIL 2018. PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN WORSE. OPENCASE WITH FORD FLEET SERVICE 15493350-J0V7C7
BRAKE FAILURE DUE TO MASTER CYLINDER LEAKAGE INTO BRAKE BOOSTER
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE ENGINE DOWNSHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR AND THE YELLOW WRENCH MAINTENANCE ICON ILLUMINATED. ROUNTREE FORD (8770 BUSINESS PARK DR., SHREVEPORT, LA 71105, (318) 798-3673) DIAGNOSED THAT THE LEAD FRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,398.
ON THE 2012 AND 2013 MODEL YEAR F150 WITH REAR WINDOW DEFROST IT IS VERY COMMON FOR THE ELECTRICAL WIRING OR CONNECTION TO FAIL AND LITERALLY BLOW OUT THE BACK WINDOW. IT ALSO AFFECTS THE HEATED MIRRORS IF THE TRUCK HAS THAT OPTION TOO. WHEN THE REAR WINDOW BLOWS OUT IT CAN LITERALLY BLOW HOLES PUT OF THE GLASS. WITH KIDS HAVING TO RIDE IN THE BACK THIS IS NOT SAFE. THE REAR DEFROST WILL WORK FINE OR MALFUNCTION A COUPLE TIMES AND THEN WILL EVENTUALLY FAIL AND BREAK/BLOW THE WINDOW OUT. IT IS A VERY WELL KNOWN PROBLEM THAT FORD IS DOING NOTHING ABOUT. I'VE CONTACTED FORD AND THEY REFUSE TO FIX IT.
VEHICLE POWER SUDDENLY SHUTDOWN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY. AFTER PULLING TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, ENGINE WOULD ONLY IDLE. ENGINE WOULD NOT REV UP TO A HIGHER RPMS. VEHICLE REQUIRED TOWING TO A REPAIR CENTER. THE FOLLOWING 2 ISSUES WERE FOUND: 1. THROTTLE BODY NEEDED REPLACED. 2. FUEL PUMP ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT WAS HEAT DAMAGED. THE REPAIR CENTER TOLD ME THEY ARE STARTING TO SEE MORE OF THESE TYPE OF ISSUES ON THESE VEHICLES. THE REPAIR CENTER MOVED THIS CIRCUIT AWAY FROM THE HEAT SOURCE CAUSING THE DAMAGE. THIS APPEARS TO BE A DESIGN ISSUE WHICH COULD POSE A SAFETY PROBLEM. A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED FOR THIS PROBLEM.
I WAS DRIVING HIGHWAY SPEED AND MY TRANSMISSION SHIFTED FROM 6TH GEAR TO 3RD WITHOUT WARNING CAUSING MY REAR TIRES TO LOCK UP AND SKID. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 DIFFERENT TIMES IN THE LAST WEEK. I HAVE THE TRUCK AT THE FORD DEALER NOW WAITING FOR THEM TO CALL ME BACK. I KNOW MY MODEL YEAR IS NOT INVOLVED WITH THE NATIONAL RECALL BUT I FELL LIKE IT IS THE SAME PROBLEM. AS DESCRIBED IN THE 2011-2012 RECALL.
THE FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM BLEW THE FUSE. I LOOKED ONLINE AND SAW WHERE MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN AND FORD HAS A SERVICE ADVISORY ISSUED FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT CHARGE THE OWNER WITH MAKING THE CORRECTION TO THE DEFECTIVE WIRING. THEY DO NOT SIMPLY REPLACE THE MINI 10 AMP FUSE BUT INSTEAD REPLACE A PART OF THE WIRING AND RELOCATE IT TO A STANDARD 20 AMP FUSE. WHEN I EXPLAINED MY CONCERN ABOUT ENGINEERING A FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR A 10 AMP RATING AND SWITCHING IT TO THE 20 AMP WHICH COULD ALLOW OTHER PARTS OF THE SYSTEM TO OVERLOAD HE BASICALLY TOLD ME THAT FORD HAD DECIDED THIS WAS HOW THEY WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM BUT NOW I HAVE THE CONCERN OTHER COMPONENTS OF THE SYSTEM FAILING AND SURE ENOUGH IT WAS LESS THAN TWO WEEKS LATER THE FUEL PUMP DRIVER MODULE FAILED CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO STOP RUNNING. THE SERVICE MANAGER ALSO TOLD ME I WAS LUCKY AS HE HAD SEEN TOTAL MELT DOWNS OF FUSE PANELS FROM THIS DEFECT. THIS HAS COST ME $805 IN REPAIRS DUE TO A FAULTY WIRING DESIGN. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME, ONCE IN A PARKING LOT AND ONCE IN MY DRIVEWAY.
TRUCK IS DOWN SHIFTING WHEN ON HIGHWAY, AT TIMES WILL NOT ACCELERATE, LOSES SPEEDOMETER INDICTATION, HAS A OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR CODE. WHEN ACCELERATING TRUCK FROM STAND STILL HAVE TO TURN ENGINE OFF SOMETIMES MULTIPLE TIMES TO GET TRANSMISSION TO ENGAGE
TRUCK SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTS FROM 6TH GEAR TO 1ST GEAR WHILE DRIVING 65MPH. SPEEDOMETER GOES TO ZERO THEN BOUNCES ERRATICALLY.
LOST ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING.
WHILE MOVING AT SPEED BELOW 10 MPH, BUT USING THE BRAKE AT TIMES, MY "LOW BRAKE FLUID" WARNING INDICATOR CAME ON AFTER DRIVING ONLY 200 YARDS. EVEN AFTER FILLING THE BRAKE FLUID CONTAINER, IT AGAIN CAME ON AFTER ONLY ABOUT 500 YARDS. I CAREFULLY TOOK THE TRUCK TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER WHO FOUND THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS LEAKING FLUID INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THIS IS IDENTICAL TO THE FORD RECALL #16S24. HOWEVER FORD SAYS THAT MY VIN IS NOT AMONG THE RECALL LIST, BUT OBVIOUSLY THE RECALL SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO INCLUDE MY VEHICLE THAT EXHIBITS THE IDENTICAL RECALL THAT FORD DESCRIBES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE SPONTANEOUSLY DOWNSHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR AND THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE RESET WAS PERFORMED AND THE VEHICLE FUNCTIONED PROPERLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED OR NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 136,000.
SOMETIMES VEHICLE WILL START OR GET STUCK IN 5TH EITHER FROM THE START OR DURING DECELERATION. ENGINE REVS, BUT FORWARD MOTION COMPROMISED. MORE CONCERNING IS THE INTERMITTENT DOWNSHIFTING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. SPEEDOMETER HAS FAILED AND TURNS OFF, READS 0 RMP. GEAR INDICATOR AND TRAMSMISSION POSITION WILL DROP TO 1ST, GO BACK TO 5TH, AND WAVER ANYWHERE IN BETWEEN. THIS HAS EVEN LOCKED UP MY REAR WHEELS AT 70MPH. PRETTY SCARY! THIS HAS HAPPENED A HANDFUL OF TIMES NOW. THANKFULLY, I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SHIFT TO NEUTRAL, GET TO THE SHOULDER, KILL THE ENGINE, RESTART AND GO. I WROTE THIS TODAY B/C I GOT A WRENCH LIGHT FINALLY, SO HOPEFULLY THEY CAN DIAGNOSE THIS INTERMITTENT ISSUE.
AT 99K MILES THE EPSA WENT OUT ON MY 2013 F150 4X4. TRUCK WAS NEVER MISTREATED OVER 95% OF THE MILES ARE HIGHWAY MILES. I FIND IT ODD YEARS BEFORE AND AFTER HAVE RECALLS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM BUT NOT FOR 2013. I WAS PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED

DRIVING VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES AT 45 TO 70 MPH TRANSMISSION SHIFTS INTO 1ST GEAR LOCKING UP REAR TIRES. NEARLY REAR ENDED ON HIGHWAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES IN LAST 3 WEEKS NO TROUBLE CODE CAME UP IN VEHICLE. I AM CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AND I IN THIS VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED BOTH ON THE HIGHWAY AND CITY STREETS.
RADIATOR FAN TURNS ON AFTER APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES OF VEHICLE RUNNING AND CONTINUES TO RUN UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF. THIS STARTED AT APPROXIMATELY 60K MILES. THE FAN TURNS ON REGARDLESS OF TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. IT ALSO TURNS ON REGARDLESS THE TRANSMISSION TEMPERATURE. THE ONLY CONSISTENT PIECE IS THE TIMING. THE TRUCK CAN BE IN MOTION OR STATIONARY.
SPEEDOMETER, ODOMETER, CRUISE CONTROL, BLINKER CONTROL, AND TRANSMISSION SHIFTING QUITS WORKING. BELIEVE IT'S THE TRANSMISSION LEAD FRAME CAUSING THE PROBLEM LIKE IN THE 2011 AND 2012 F150'S.
~95% BRAKE POWER LOSS. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, AND ONCE STARTED THE LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CAME ON. BRAKE FUNCTION WAS REDUCED TO ABOUT 5% OF NORMAL FUNCTION. REFILLED FLUID IN RESERVOIR AND ALL FLUID WAS LOST DURING FIRST 5 MILES OF DRIVING. AT THIS TIME THERE WAS ONLY ABOUT 5% OF BRAKE POWER REMAINING AND THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE STOPPED USING GEAR DOWNSHIFTS AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. I CHECKED OVER THE VEHICLE AND THERE WAS NO APPARENT FLUID LOSS IN THE ENGINE BAY OR THE BRAKE LINES. TOOK TO FORD DEALERSHIP AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A MASTER CYLINDER LEAK INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THIS PROBLEM IS AN ACTIVE RECALL WITH 2013 AND 2014 MODEL YEAR F-150'S, HOWEVER MY MANUFACTURE DATE DID NOT FALL WITHIN THIS RECALL.
