HEADING EAST ON HWY 18 AT 55 MPH BETWEEN COBB AND EDMUND WI, WHICH IS A VERY STRAIGHT, SMOOTH SECTION OF HIGHWAY, I HEARD A VERY LOUD BANG. I THOUGHT I MUST HAVE LOST A CHUNK OF ICE UNDERNEATH THE TRUCK, BUT IT WAS SO LOUD, I WAS SKEPTICAL THAT WAS TRULY IT. MY REAR WINDOW DEFROST LIGHT FLICKERED ON AND OFF A FEW TIMES DURING THE DRIVE, BUT I DIDN'T NOTICE UNTIL I GOT TO WORK (ABOUT 8 MILES LATER) THAT THE REAR WINDOW ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED, BUT STILL INTACT WITH THE FRAME. IMMEDIATELY DROVE TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I WAS TOLD THEY'VE HEARD OF THIS, BUT THERE IS NO RECALL. I HAVE A FRIEND WHO OWNS A BODY SHOP AND HE SUGGESTED I COVER THE SHATTERED GLASS WITH CRASH WRAP, SO I TOOK IT THERE AND THEY DID SO. IF I HAD A CHILD IN THE BACK SEAT, THEY COULD HAVE HAD HEARING DAMAGE FROM THE LOUD POP THAT OCCURRED. I'M VERY UPSET THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, WHICH HAS PERSISTED OVER 7 YEARS ACCORDING TO RESEARCH, AND HAVE DONE NOTHING TO REMEDY THE SITUATION OR PROVIDE COMPENSATION FOR REPAIRS.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER CAN HARDLY ACCELERATE & SPEEDOMETER GOES TO ZERO THE ODOMETER & TRIP METER READ DASHES NO DIGITS WRENCH IS DISPLAYED.I PULL OVER WHEN SAFE PUT IT IN PARK & RESTART IT IS FINE UNTIL NEXT TIME THE DEALER CHECKED & FOUND NO CODES THEY DROVE IT 192 MILES & COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. THIS KEEPS HAPPENING IT IS VERY UNSAFE

AUTONATION FORD NORTH CANTON (5900 WHIPPLE AVE NW, NORTH CANTON, OH 44720, (330) 238-3206) STATED THAT AN APPOINTMENT WOULD NEED TO BE SCHEDULED TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE AND PROVIDE A REMEDY. THE CONTACT HAD NOT AUTHORIZED THE DEALER TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 127,000. *TT
IN THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS THE TRANSMISSION IS SHIFTING ERRATICALLY, LAST WEEK IT SHIFTED FROM 1ST TO 5TH, TRUCK WENT LIMP HAD TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD DUE TO LOSS OF POWER SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AND GO BACK TO D. TODAY WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE TRANMISSION SHIFTED DOWN TO 1ST GEAR CAUSING THE TRUCK TO SKID DUE TO THE SUDDEN DOWNSHIFT WHILE I WAS AT AROUND 50MPH. MIND YOU I WAS JUST GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED NEEDLESS TO SAY IT WAS SCARY. I HAD PULL INTO THE SHOULDER TO REGROUP MYSELF, TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEN GET ON THE ROAD AGAIN.
TRUCK HAS LEAKING RADIATOR HOSES. WENT TO LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP FOR REPLACEMENT PARTS. WAS TOLD THAT I AM NUMBER 70 IN LINE FOR THOSE PARTS. RADIATOR FLUID ALWAYS LOW, CONSTANTLY REFILLING IT. THIS IS DANGEROUS DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF FLUID THAT LEAKS OUT ON A DAILY BASIS. VERY NERVOUS ABOUT DRIVING TRUCK, FEAR THAT IT MAY BREAKDOWN ON ME AND LEAVE ME STRANDED ON SIDE OF ROAD. CONCERNED ABOUT THE BACKLOG AND WAITING SO LONG FOR PARTS. IS THIS A PROBLEM WITH ALL F150 RADIATOR HOSES, AND IF SO SHOULDN'T FORD ISSUE A RECALL AND FIX THE PROBLEM. I AM WORRIED T4HAT I AM GOING TO BREAKDOWN ON THE SIDE OF A ROAD LATE AT NIGHT IN 0' WEATHER AND TRY TO FIND A TOWN TRUCK. I ONLY HAVE ONE VEHICLE AND NOT ABLE TO RENT A CAR FOR SEVERAL WEEKS WHILE MY GARAGE WAITS FOR THE PARTS.
WHEN DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20+ MPH AND TURNING TO THE LEFT, THE STEERING WHEEL INTERMITTENTLY GETS HUNG UP WHEN RETURNING TO CENTER AND TAKES SOME EFFORT TO GET IT TO CONTINUE ON. THIS ONLY HAPPENS ON LEFT TURNS, NO ISSUE WITH RIGHT TURNS AT ALL. THE ISSUE STARTED BEING NOTICED APPROXIMATELY 8 MONTHS AGO, BUT SEEMS TO HAPPEN MORE OFTEN NOW. TOOK IT INTO THE FORD DEALER AND WAS DIAGNOSED AS AN EPAS (ELECTRONIC POWER ASSIST STEERING) SYSTEM THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS NOT A TYPICAL PART THAT WEARS OUT AND REPAIRS ARE ESTIMATE AT $1800. VEHICLE ONLY HAS LESS THAN 60K MILES WHEN PROBLEM STARTED. IN DOING SOME RESEARCH, THIS IS NOT AN UNCOMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL & CAN LEAD TO SERIOUS INJURY IF SYSTEM COMPLETELY FAILS WHILE DRIVING.
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WITHIN THE LAST MONTH, THE TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY, WITHOUT ANY WARNING, SHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR WHILE DRIVING NORMALLY, WITH TRANSMISSION IN D. I ESTIMATE THAT DRIVING SPEEDS DURING THESE OCCURRENCES VARIED BETWEEN 10 AND 35 MPH. DURING A COUPLE OF OCCURRENCES, THE GEAR SELECTION INDICATOR COULD BE SEEN FLASHING QUICKLY BETWEEN SEVERAL OF THE LOWER GEARS. THE DATE ENTERED BELOW WAS THE DATE OF THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE. I HAVE MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF A LOCAL FORD DEALER FOR MONDAY, JAN 22, 2018.
WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ON THE MORNING OF JANUARY 18, 2018, I HEARD MY TRUCK MAKE A FAIRLY LOUD "POP" SOUND THAT CAME FROM SOMEWHERE DIRECTLY BEHIND ME. DUE TO THE COLD TEMPERATURES WE HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING HERE IN INDIANA I DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF THE SOUND. I ASSUMED IT WAS JUST COLD PARTS MOVING OR MAYBE I HAD RAN OVER A SMALL POT-HOLE. AFTER FINISHING MY WORK DAY I RETURNED TO MY TRUCK, WHICH WAS LOCKED AND PARKED IN A SAFE LOCATION AWAY FROM ANY HAZARDS, TO FIND MY REAR WINDOW BLOWN OUT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. THE WINDOW WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED INTO TINY PIECES BUT MANAGED TO STAY HELD TOGETHER BY THE FACTORY TINT I ASSUME. HOWEVER THERE WAS A SMALL HOLE WHERE GLASS WAS MISSING IN THE CENTER PORTION OF THE WINDOW. ONE COULD TELL BY LOOKING AT THE WINDOW THAT IT HAD EXPLODED FROM THE INSIDE OUT BECAUSE THE WINDOW WAS PUSHED OUTWARD TOWARD THE TRUCK BED WITH SOME SMALL PIECES OF GLASS LANDING IN THE BED OF THE TRUCK.

WINDSHIELD WASHER NOZZLES FREEZE AND FAIL TO SPRAY WHEN COLD OUT, EVEN WITH HIGH CONCENTRATION OF ALCOHOL IN WASHER SOLVENT. SUNSHINE IS SOMETIMES ENOUGH TO WARM THEM AND MAKE THEM WORK. I BELIVE THEY AREN'T SHROUDED ENOUGH AND WATER FROM OUTSIDE ENTERS THE NOZZLES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTIONED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SWITCHED FROM SIXTH GEAR TO FIRST GEAR AT ONCE, WHICH CAUSED THE CONTACT TO TEMPORARILY LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. OCCASIONALLY, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE FORWARD. CROWN FORD IN FAYETTEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000.
NEITHER OF THE REAR DOORS OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUT IF THE TRUCK HAS BEEN DOUBLE LOCKED WITH THE CLICKER REMOTE. THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT AND IT TAKES SEVERAL DAYS FOR THE LOCKS TO RESET AND THE DOORS TO OPEN.
TRUCK WOULD DOWNSHIFT INTERMITTENTLY, TRUCK WOULD LOCK UP, DASHBOARD GO DARK, NO POWER TO PEDAL, HARD DOWNSHIFTS...WOULD DO IT UNDER ALL CIRCUMSTANCES
WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, I WAS UNABLE TO CLOSE THE SUNROOF. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE PLASTIC GUIDE ON TRACK BROKE. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH THIS APPEARS TO BE VERY COMMON FOR 2010-2014 F150. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY FORD. THANK YOU.
WHEN TRUCK SLOWS DOWN IT SLIPS IN TO LIKE A NEUTRAL POSITION AND RPM'S REV UP.
TAKATA RECALL, MY TIMELINE ON 01/12/2018 I TOOK MY 2013 TO GOODYEAR TO GET 100,000 MILES SERVICE. I HAD COOLING SYSTEM FLUSH, REAR DIFFERENTIAL DRAIN AND REFILL,TRANSMISSION FUILD EXCHANGE AND REPLACE PLATINUM SPARK PLUGS AT TIME OF SERVICE ODM WAS AT 10205. ON SATURDAY 01/13 TRANSMISSION SHIFT WAS NOT SMOOTH, I TOOK TUCK BACK TO GOODYEAR. I WAS TOLD THAT ALL CHECKED OUT GOOD, BUT ANOTHER QUART OF TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS ADDED. I DROVE TRUCK ON LOCAL STREET AND ON HIGHWAY NO TROUBLE. ON TUESDAY 01/15 WHEN I LEFT HOME RUNNING ERRANDS TRUCK TOOK HARD SHIFT. I TOOK TRUCK TO GOODYEAR, I WAS TOLD THAT TECHNICIAN DROVE TRUCK NO TROUBLE FOUND. ON WEDNESDAY 01/17 I LEFT HOUSE TWO TIMES. FIRST TIME OUT NO TROUBLE. SECOND TIME OUT I WENT OUT ON MY WAY BACK HOME TRUCK HARD SHIFT SEVERAL TIMES. THEN THERE WAS A SOUND LIKE A BUZZ SAW. BOTH TRIPS WHERE TO THE SAME LOCATION LESS THAN 4 MILES ROUND TRIP. ON THURSDAY 01/18 I CALLED GOODYEAR SPOKE WITH ORIGINAL SERVICE MANAGER TOLD HIM OF TROUBLE I WANTED HIM TO TAKE A RIDE WITH ME. WE DID HE FELT HARD SHIFT IN TRANSMISSION AND HEARD BUZZ SAW NOISE EVEN DOUGH SOUND WAS FAINT. HE SUGGESTED AND GAVE ME A COUPON FOR A FREE DIAGNOSTIC TEST AT AAMCO. I TOOK TRUCK TO AAMCO ON THURSDAY 01/18 LEFT TRUCK OVER NIGHT. I PICKED UP TRUCK ON FRIDAY 01/19, AAMCO FOUND NO TROUBLE. ON MY WAY HOME TRUCK WAS PERFORMING LIKE IT WAS BEFORE I TOOK TRUCK TO GOODYEAR. I WAS FEELING GOOD AGAIN ABOUT MY TRUCK THEN THERE WAS A UNSMOUTH SHIFT. SEVERAL MILES LATER A LOUD BUZZ SAW SOUND. THIS IS SATURDAY MORNING I AM GOING BACK TO GOODYEAR AND SEE WHAT SHOULD BE MY NEXT MOVE. AGAIN I HAD NO TROUBLE WITH TRUCK BEFORE I WENT TO GOODYEAR. IF I HAD TRANSMISSION TROUBLE I WOULDN'T HAVE GONE TO GOODYEAR TO HAVE IT FIXED.
WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MILES AN HOUR ON 4TH GEAR MY TRUCK UNEXPECTEDLY SHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR, CAUSING ME TO LOSE FULL CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE
2013 FORD RAPTOR SUPER CREW 27953 MILES. OIL CHANGE 2 MONTHS AGO. OIL LIFE STILL AT 69%. I WENT WITH THE RECOMMENDED FORD MOTOR COMPANY SYNTHETIC AND FORD MOTOR COMPANY OIL FILTER. I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK ABOUT 10 MINUTES INTO MY DRIVE. I WENT TO TAKE OFF FROM A STOP LIGHT AND I GOT THROUGH THE INTERSECTION AND HAD AN IMMEDIATE REDUCTION IN POWER THE TRUCK WAS STUCK AT 1,000 RPMS AND WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING BUT SLOWLY CREEP FORWARD AT 5 MILES AN HOUR. I LIMPED TO A LIGHTED PARKING LOT ABOUT A HALF BLOCK AWAY AS MY LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON AND A WRENCH ICON ON THE DASH. I SHUT IT OFF AND POPPED OPEN THE HOOD. I CHECK MY OIL LEVEL TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL POWER STEERING LEVEL AND EVERYTHING WAS WELL ABOVE TOLERANCES. I COULD FIND NO PROBLEMS AND WHEN I GOT BACK IN THE TRUCK AND STARTED IT, IT RAN FINE ALL THE WAY HOME. I JUST SCANNED THE SYSTEM AND NO ERROR CODES. THE STOP LIGHT ROAD WAS AT A SLIGHT DOWNWARD ANGLE AND I HAD JUST BELOW A HALF TANK OF 93 OCTANE FUEL. K AND N AIR FILTER IN STOCK HOLDER. NO OTHER POWER TRAIN OR ENGINE MODIFICATIONS. LOSS OF POWER, POWER STEERING AND DECREASED BRAKING. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS HAD IT NOT BEEN LATER AT NIGHT.
LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT ON WHEN BRAKE FLUID IS FULL. BRAKES NOT WORKING AT LOW SPEEDS. SOMETIMES WHEN PUSHING BRAKES YOU FEEL ABS KICK IN AT LOW SPEEDS. VERY HARD TO STOP.
ELECTRONIC STEERING NOT WORKING CORRECTLY VERY TIGHT ALMOST LIKE IT DOES NOT HAVE POWER STEERING . STARTED WHILE I WAS IN MOTION .

FUEL PUMP FUSE MELTED AND I WAS DOING SOME ONLINE RESEARCH TO TRY TO FIND OUT THE COST OF PART AND REPAIR, AND NOTICE A LOT OF FORD OWNERS HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE WITH THE 2013 FORD F-150
ON TUESDAY 01/09/2013 HUSBAND WAS DRIVING INTO WORK HEARD A LOUD POP SOUND. LOOKED BACK AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW WAS SHATTERED.
TRUCK HAS DOWNSHIFTED FROM DRIVE INTO A LOWER GEAR. ALSO ENGINE RATTLES ON STARTUP. MECHANIC ADVISED THE RATTLE IS PROBABLY A STRETCHED TIMING CHAIN. DOWNSHIFTING OCCURRED ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH. MY SON HAS A 2011 4 WHEEL DRIVE FORD PICKUP WITH A V-6 ENGINE. 45,000 MILES. THE TIMING WAS REPLACED AT A COST OF $1800. FORD MOTOR COMPANY WILL NOT FIX PROBLEMS.
T-CONNECTOR (BASE PART #8566) FROM RADIATOR COOLANT RESERVOIR TO ENGINE BLOCK CRACKS IN COLD TEMPERATURES DRAINING COOLANT DISABLING THE VEHICLE. FORD INDICATES NATIONAL BACKORDER WITH NO ESTIMATION ON WHEN PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. I WAS TOLD I WAS #17 ON THE WAITING LIST AT REPAIR SHOP FOR THE SAME PIECE DUE TO THE NUMBER OF DEVICE FAILURES DUE TO RECENT COLD TEMPERATURES IN THE OHIO VALLEY. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY FOR FOUR DAYS WHEN I NOTICED A LARGE PUDDLE UNDER THE VEHICLE. UPON INSPECTION, I FOUND THE COOLANT RESERVOIR WAS EMPTY AND COOLANT DRAINING ALL DOWN THE SERPENTINE BELT AND PULLEYS. MECHANIC VERIFIED CRACKED T- CONNECTOR. DUE TO THE NUMBER OF CRACKED T-CONNECTORS AND A NATIONAL BACKORDER, I FEEL THERE IS A MATERIAL DEFICIENCY IN THE T-CONNECTOR AND SHOULD BE RECALLED FOR REPLACEMENT. I'VE BEEN TOLD MY VEHICLE IS OUT OF SERVICE FOR AN UNDETERMINED AMOUNT OF TIME. WITH A SNOW STORM LOOMING, THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!

DRIVING TRUCK ON HWY WHEN TURBO WENT UP AND TRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFTED. ALSO A FEW TIMES DRIVING IN CITY TURBO CLIMBED UP RPM AND NO ODOMETER THEY SUSPECT LEAD FRAME ON TRANSMISSION
TRANSMISSION SHIFTED ERRATICALLY INTO FIRST GEAR AT SPEED WHILE PULLING INTO BUSY TRAFFIC ON HIGHWAY 280, STALLING AND REVVING RPMS, CAUSING ME TO SWERVE INTO THE TURN LANE TO AVOID ONCOMING TRAFFIC. LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP (EARNEST MCCARTY) IS REPLACING THE CONTROL MODULE THAT WAS ALREADY RECALLED IN 2016 ON 2011-2012 F-150S (APPROXIMATE COST $700).
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated after adding 85 octane fuel, the vehicle began to stall. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated the vape locked and had to wait for a short time before being able to restart the vehicle and continue driving to his destination. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60-70 MPH, the vehicle downshifted to first gear. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19V075000 (Power Train) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the control module needed to be reprogrammed. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000. AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MILES PER HOUR THE VEHICLE SHIFTS FROM 5TH GEAR TO 1ST GEAR LOCKING THE REAR WHEELS THE VEHICLE THEN HAS TO BE SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED TO PROCEED OTHER TIMES WHEN LEAVING A STOP THE VEHICLE WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF FIRST OR FIFTH GEAR WHEN SPEAKING WITH FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY SAY PARK THE VEHICLE THEY MAY HAVE A FIX IN JUNE

2013-2014 ERA F-150 WITH STOCK 5.0L V8. ONLY 47,000 MILES. STILL UNDER FACTORY FORD POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. VEHICLE EXHIBITS THE COMMON OEM COOLANT SYSTEM DEFECT REGARDING THE "Y" OR "T" CONNECTOR AND RADIATOR HOSE CONNECTIONS. SYSTEM EXCESSIVELY LEAKS COOLANT. DEFECT CAUSES LEAKAGE OF COOLANT WHEN ENGINE IS OPERATING OR WHEN SITTING/COOLING DOWN. LOSS OF COOLANT MAY IRREPARABLY DAMAGE OR DESTROY ENGINE IF NOT REPAIRED. THIS MAY PRESENT A SAFETY HAZARD IF VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AT TIME OF FAILURE. DEFECT IS NOTED ON NUMEROUS FORD TRUCK FORUMS. SOME OF THE OEM PARTS NECESSARY TO REPAIR/REPLACE THE DEFECTED ITEMS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FROM FORD AT THIS TIME. PER FORD DEALERSHIP, THESE UNAVAILABLE PARTS ARE ON BACKORDER FROM FORD FOR SEVERAL WEEKS, APPROXIMATELY 4-5 WEEKS. VEHICLE IS NOT CURRENTLY BEING DRIVEN DUE TO DEFECT, TO PREVENT IRREPARABLE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE, FOR SAFETY CONCERNS, AND OEM PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FROM FORD AT THIS TIME TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. FORD HAS NOT AGREED TO PAY TO REPAIR THE TRUCK AT THIS TIME.

THE CONTACT CALLED A LOCAL DEALER (ROBINSON BROTHERS FORD, 11455 AIRLINE HWY, BATON ROUGE, LA 70816) AND WAS ADVISED TO CONTACT AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. REAR WINDOW ON DRIVER SIDE SHATTERED AFTER REMOTE WARM UP OF TRUCK ON COLD DAY. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION FOR 10 FEET. I HEARD A LOUD POP AND THOUGHT SOMETHING LANDED ON THE ROOF. I THEN LOOKED IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR AND SAW WHERE THE GLASS HAD SHATTERED. I ENTERED THE VEHICLE AT ABOUT 10 PM ON 12/31/17 AND STARTED DRIVING HOME. IT WAS COLD SO I TURNED ON THE WINDSHIELD DEFROSTER AND THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER. ABOUT 5 MINUTES INTO MY TRIP I NOTICED A LIGHT ON THE DASH GO ON THEN OFF AND WAS NOT SURE WHICH ONE IT WAS THEN IT FLASHED AGAIN IT WAS THE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER BUTTON. THE NEXT THING WE HEARD A VERY LOUD POP LIKE AND SAW THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED. IT IS A POWER SLIDER JUST THE SECTION DIRECTLY BEHIND THE DRIVER SHATTERED. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THERE HAS BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS VERY SAME THING. NEXT I WILL BE GOING TO A LOCAL DEALER AND MAKING A COMPLAINT BECAUSE FROM WHAT I CAN SEE THERE HAS NOT BEEN ANY RECALLS ON THIS MATTER. WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE TO GET A RECALL ON THIS? I BELIEVE THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY SHOULD ABSORB THE COST FOR THE REPLACEMENT
WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PULL INTO TRAFFIC FROM STOPPED POSITION, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION BEGINS FORWARD MOTION IN 5TH GEAR AND WILL NOT CHANGE FROM 5TH GEAR. AS ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED RPMS GO UP BUT CAR BARELY MOVES. ONCE TRUCK IS TURNED OFF AND BACK ON TRANSMISSION IS BACK IN 1ST GEAR, BUT THIS ISN'T ALWAYS AN OPTION WHEN CARS ARE APPROACHING RAPIDLY FROM BEHIND.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE GEAR SHIFTER INDEPENDENTLY SHIFTED FROM SIXTH TO FIRST GEAR WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE SPUN AROUND IN A CIRCLE MORE THAN TWICE IN ANOTHER DIRECTION. THE CONTACT HAD TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE BACK AROUND IN THE CORRECT DIRECTION. STOWE FORD (104 E CROCKETT ST, GORDON, TX 76453, (254) 693-5323) WAS NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND INDICATED THAT THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE, BUT A RECALL HAD NOT BEEN ISSUED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
TWICE IN THE LAST WEEK THE A WARNING TO SERVICE THE ADVANCE TRAC SYSTEM CAME ON AND LOST POWER STEERING. MAKING IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE HOME. THE NEXT MORNING IT WORKED FINE, NO WARNINGS. I AM AFRAID TO LET MY WIFE OR KIDS DRIVE IT FOR SAFETY REASONS.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 44,000.
THE WINDSHIELD WASHER NOZZLE FREEZES SHUT. FLUID IN THE REEAVOR IS OK AND THE LINES GOING FROM THE RESEVOR TO THE NOZZLE IS SOFT AND NOT FROZEN. THE FLUID IS PROTECTED TO -35 AND THE TEMP WAS ONLY -10. MY FRIEND HAS A 2014 F150 AND IT DOES THE SAME. IT'S DANGEROUS CAUSE WE CAN'T CLEAN THE WINDSHIELD. IT HAPPENS IF THE VEH IS MOVING OR NOT.
THROTTLE BODY ERRORS P2111. VEHICLE SUDDENTLY STALLS AND SHUTTERS. RECALL ISSUED FOR OTHER FORD VEHICLES WITH THIS EXACT PROBLEM. F150 ECOBOOST ALSO NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED. THIS ALMOST CAUSES MY FAMILY TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT. VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING 32MPH AND COASTING AT THE TIME. LOST ALL ACCELERATION
ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY FAILURE. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IN 18 MONTHS THAT THE ETB HAS FAILED, CAUSING THE TRUCK TO GO INTO LIMP MODE WHILE DRIVING.
I WAS SLOWING DOWN AS I APPROACHED A RED LIGHT AT AN INTERSECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS SLOWING DOWN FINE BUT WHEN I TRIED TO COME TO A COMPLETE HALT THE BRAKE PEDAL SUDDENLY FELT SOFT OR LOOSE AND EASILY HIT THE FLOOR BUT VEHICLE DID NOT STOP AND KEPT ROLLING FORWARD SLOWLY. I PUMPED THE BRAKES BUT THE BRAKE PEDAL JUST FELT SOFT AND EASILY HIT THE FLOOR. I MANAGED TO STEER TO AVOID A PEDESTRIAN AND THEN JAMMED TRANSMISSION INTO PARK AND THIS STOPPED VEHICLE. ROAD CONDITION WAS SLIGHTLY WET BUT CLEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING SLOWLY AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. I THEN SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED ENGINE. THEN I TESTED THE BRAKES AGAIN AND THEY WORKED FINE. TOOK VEHICLE TO LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP TO GET CHECKED OUT. THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIND A SPECIFIC CAUSE FOR THIS BRAKE FAILURE, NO SIGN OF BRAKE OIL LEAK. DEALERSHIP RECOMMENDED REPLACING MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT SAME MODEL, BUT ONLY FOR THOSE TRUCKS BUILT IN AUGUST 2013. MY TRUCK WAS BUILT IN KANSAS CITY FEBRUARY 2013, SO I HAD TO PAY FOR COST OF WORK.
VEHICLE WAS MOVING, WAS PARKING IN MY DRIVEWAY WHEN IT STALLED AND WOULDN'T START. VEHICLE TOWED TO MULLINAX FORD, NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FLORIDA. INVOICE # 191885. THE WIRE FROM THE FUEL PUMP/RELAY OVERHEATED AND BURNED THE WIRE AND THE FUSE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STOP. FORS IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND EVEN HAVE A RELOCATE KIT EL3Z 14293 A TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL NOT A REPAIR PAID FOR BY THE CUSTOMER. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECT IN THE DESIGN AND THEY EVEN HAVE A KIT TO CORRECT.
TRANSMISSION SHIFTING ISSUES
WHEN ACCELERATING ENGINE GOES INTO "LIMP MODE". THE RESULT IS NO THROTTLE RESPONSE.
JUST UNDER 60K MILES AND TRUCK JUMPS GEAR AT RANDOM FROM 1ST TO 5TH WHILE COMING TO A STOP OR WHILE AT A STOP AND VICE VERA WHILE ACCELERATING THROUGH 4TH-5TH GEARS THE TRUCK WILL DROP INTO 1ST GEAR RESULTING IN A TEMPORARY LOSS OF CONTROL. HAD IT HAPPEN TO ME 6 TIMES OVER SEVERAL WEEKS UNTIL THE DEALERSHIP WAS ABLE TO DIAGNOSE AND OBTAIN THE MOLDED LEAD FRAME TO REPLACE. TWICE WHILE ON A CITY STREET AT A STOP SIGN MAKING AN UPHILL TURN, SEVERAL TIMES WHILE ATTEMPTING TO EXIT A PARKING LOT. FORD HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THIS PROBLEM BY ISSUING A RECALL FOR 2011-2012 F150S AND ISSUING A TSB FOR 2013S BUT WILL NOT INCLUDE 2013S AS PART OF THE RECALL. THESE RECALLS INCLUDE # 16N02 AND #12C23. THIS ISSUE WAS AN EXPENSE OF NEARLY $500 TO ME, FORTUNATELY IT DID NOT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND COST A LOT MORE. FORD'S RESPONSE TO ME WAS TO KEEP MY RECEIPTS IN CASE THY ADD 2013S TO THE RECALL LIST I MAY THEN BE REIMBURSED. UNSAFE AND UNFORTUNATE!
