WHILE SITTING STATIONARY WITH THE VEHICLE RUNNING AND TALKING ON THE PHONE THE WINDOWS BEGAN FOGGING UP AND I TURNED ON THE FRONT AND REAR DEFROSTERS. I THEN DROVE ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND THEN STOPPED TO MAKE A TURN AND THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW SHATTERED AND GLASS FELL ONTO THE BACK SEAT PASSENGER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, A ROCK WAS THROWN THROUGH HIS WIND SHIELD HOWEVER THE GLASS DID NOT FRACTURE PROPERLY AND THERE WERE SHARDS EVERYWHERE IN THE INTERIOR. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT IT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN MAJOR INJURIES TO HIS EYES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT OCCUPIED AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED WHO REFERRED CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. INVVALID VIN.
WHILE DRIVING ON A COUNTRY ROAD, THE TRUCK LOST ALL POWER AND SERVICE WRENCH CAME ON. I PULLED TO SIDE OF A 2 LANE RD AND COASTED TO A STOP. TURNED THE CR OFF AND ON AGAIN AND CODE WAS GONE. I DROVE FOR ABOUT 4 MINUTES AND THE TRUCK LOST POWER AGAIN. THIS REPEATED ABOUT 4 TIMES AS I WAS IN A MOUNTAIN AREA WITH NO CELL SERVICE. I HAD TO TO KEEP TRYING TO COAST AS FAR AS I COULD TO FIND SERVICE. FINALLY AFTER ABOUT AN HOUR OF STALLING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, I WAS ABLE TO GET CELL SERVICE AND CONTACT HELP. AT 1AM WE GOT A TOW TO THE DEALER THAT JUST REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THEY SAID THE PROBLEM WAS UNRELATED TO THE SERVICE JUST PERFORMED AND WE HAD A BAD THROTTLE BODY. THE ITEM WAS REPLACED.
MY 2014 FORD F150 QUAD CAB TRUCK WAS PARKED AFTER DRIVING TO WORK, APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES OF DRIVING. AFTER PARKING THE CAR, ANOTHER EMPLOYEE NOTICED THE COOLING FAN WAS STILL RUNNING (OR ENGINE-ON SOUND) AND AT THE END OF MY ~9 HOUR SHIFT, I RETURNED TO MY FORD TRUCK WITH A DEAD BATTERY, WHICH REQUIRED A BOOST TO START THE TRUCK. AFTER RETURNING HOME FROM WORK, THE COOLING FAN CONTINUED TO OPERATE WITH THE VEHICLE PARKED AND THE IGNITION SWITCH IN THE OFF POSITION. AFTER REVIEWING THE ELECTRICAL DIAGRAM USING A FORD MOTORCRAFT ONLINE MANUAL SUBSCRIPTION, AND TRACING THE COOLING FAN CIRCUIT, WE FOUND THAT THE COOLING FAN RELAY (HI-POWER FOMOCO, RELAY NUMBER O101K 8T2T-14B192-AA) IF LIGHTLY TAPPED WITH A SMALL SCREWDRIVER HANDLE, THE COOLING FAN TURNED OFF. THE AIR FLOW THROUGH THE COOLING FAN AND HEAT EX-CHANGERS DID NOT FEEL HOT IN TEMPERATURE AND THERE WAS NO OVERHEAT CONDITION WITH THE COOLING SYSTEM, MALFUNCTIONING AC SYSTEM, OR AIR FLOW RESTRICTIONS. A NEW RELAY (ONE OF EIGHT RELAYS [WITH THE SAME PART NUMBER] LOCATED IN THE BATTERY JUNCTION BOX - BJB) WAS PURCHASED AT A LOCAL FORD DEALER BASED ON THE RELAY NUMBER MENTIONED ABOVE. THIS RELAY WAS IN-STOCK. UPON INSPECTING THE OLD RELAY, THE SIDE OF THE OUTER PLASTIC HOUSING HAD A MELT/BURN MARK, SHOWING SIGNS OF OVERHEATING. THIS WAS A CONCERN, AS WHEN THE OLD RELAY OUTER PLASTIC COVER WAS REMOVED, SIGNS OF ARCING/OVERHEATING WITHIN THE BI-METAL RELAY SWITCH WAS FOUND AND THE BI-METAL PIECE WAS NOT PROPERLY ATTACHED. WITH ALL OF THE PLASTIC MATERIAL IN THE BJB, THERE IS A CONCERNS THAT THE RELAY COULD CONTINUE OVERHEATING AND MELT THE PLASTIC MATERIAL IN THE BJB, CAUSING FURTHER DAMAGE OR FIRE RISK IN THAT AREA. I HAVE INCLUDED PHOTOS OF THE FAILED RELAY. THE NEW RELAY APPEARS TO FUNCTION PROPERLY AND THE COOLING FAN DOES NOT RUN WITH THE IGNITION IN THE OFF POSITION AND TRUCK PARKED. NO RECALLS.
SUDDEN LOSS OF FLUID CAUSING INABILITY TO STOP VEHICLE
UPON MOVING VEHICLE TO RAOD, LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT APPEARED. THERE WAS NO BRAKE PRESSURE AND BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR. VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP!. AFTER LOOKING UNDER HOOD, LITTLE TO NO BRAKE FLUID IN RESERVOIR. FILLED IT UP AND ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE. BRAKE PEDAL STILL VERY SOFT AND AFTER 1/4 MILE DRIVE, BRAKES HAD NO POWER AGAIN. NO LEAKING IS VISIBLE. LET VEHICLE SIT FOR TWO DAYS AFTER FILLING UP FLUID RESERVOIR AND IT IS NOW ALMOST COMPLETELY EMPTY.
Hard brake pedal at stopping and backing up with a grinding sounds
WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE IN MY TRUCK ON THE HIGHWAY, I HAD A JERKING MOTION WITH REDUCTION IN SPEED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON SO I TOOK IT INTO A FORD DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THE CODE P0016 REPRESENTS A TSB OUT ON ECOBOOST ENGINES FOR TIMING CHAIN STRETCHED. THE COST FOR ME TO FIX IS $4100. THI
ON JULY 19, 2020 ~3:30P, I WAS TRAVELING ON CA 134 W TRANSITIONING TO CA 101 N. AS I APPLIED THE BRAKES THE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR WITH NO BRAKING EFFECT BEING INITIATED. VIGOROUSLY PUMPING THE BRAKES RESULTED IN VIRTUALLY NO BRAKING EFFECT. TURNING THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS ON, I THEN ALLOWED THE VEHICLE TO COAST TO A STOP ON THE SHOULDER OF THE CA 101 NORTH AND AWAITED FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. THERE WAS NO PREVIOUS BRAKING PERFORMANCE ISSUE, ANNUNCIATOR WARNING, OR ALARM OF ANY FORM TO SUGGEST A PENDING ISSUE. ONLY UPON THE ACTUAL FAILURE ITSELF DID A DISPLAY MESSAGE SHOW UP ON THE DASH. THAT MESSAGE READ SOMETHING LIKE "BRAKE FLUID LOW". AS I WAITED FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE, I TOOK A MOMENT TO INSPECT THE AREA UNDER THE VEHICLE LOOKING FOR EVIDENCE OF ANY DRIPPING OR LEAKING FLUIDS. THERE WAS NONE AND THE VEHICLE WAS OTHERWISE WELL MAINTAINED WITH APPROXIMATELY 60,000 MILES ON IT. I CONTACTED AAA FOR AN EMERGENCY TOW. WHEN THE AAA FLATBED TRUCK ARRIVED, THE DRIVER, BILL, ASKED THE NATURE OF THE PROBLEM AND I INFORMED HIM IT WAS A VIRTUAL 100% BRAKE FAILURE. AFTER HE LOADED THE TRUCK ONTO THE FLAT BED, HE NOTED WITH SURPRISE THAT THE VEHICLE HAD INDEED LOST 100% OF ITS BRAKES. AAA TOWED THE VEHICLE TO THEIR NEAREST SERVICE CENTER LOCATED AT 5451 TUJUNGA AVE, NORTH HOLLYWOOD (LOS ANGELES), CA. WHEN THE THERE, DAN, THE TECHNICIAN/OWNER IN CHARGE, SPOKE WITH ME AFTER HIS INITIAL INSPECTION, HE WAS SURPRISED TO FIND THE VEHICLE HAD 100% BRAKE FAILURE WITH NO EVIDENCE OF ANY EXTERNAL LEAKS. HE DID NOTE THAT THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR WAS EMPTY BUT THERE WAS NO LEAKS. HE SURMISED THAT THE FLUID MUST HAVE LEAKED "INTERNALLY" AND THEREAFTER INDICATED HE WOULD DO NO WORK ON THE VEHICLE, BELIEVING THAT FORD NEEDED TO ANALYZE THE FAILURE. MY 91 YEAR OLD PASSENGER AND I WERE LUCKY TO HAVE NOT BEEN THE CAUSE OF A MAJOR HIGHWAY ACCIDENT.
THE REAR POWER SLIDING DEFROSTING WINDOW WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO WHEN THE REAR DEFROSTER AND HEATED MIRRORS STOPPED WORKING AND IT NOW STOPPED WORKING AGAIN AND IS CLEARLY A DEFECTIVE DESIGN AS THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME CONDITION AND EVEN SOME WHERE THE WINDOW SHATTERS FROM OVERHEATING. IT FIRST HAPPENED AROUND 23,000 MILES AND NOW AGAIN AT 54,000 MILES.
WASN'T SURE WHICH CATAGORY TO PUT THIS IN SO I PUT IT IN OTHER. WHILE DRIVING I TURNED ON THE REAR WINDOW DEFROST AND AFTER A COUPLE OF MINS I HEARD A LARGE BANG, THOUGHT SOMETHING HIT THE TRUCK BUT DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING. AFTER STOPPING TO PICK UP MY GRANDSON WHEN I WENT TO BACK-UP I NOTICED THE RIGHT SIDE REAR WINDOW HAD SHATTERED, HAVE NO IDEA WHY OTHER THAN MAYBE THE ELECTRIC DEFROST DID SOMETHING. LOOKED FOR SIGNS OF SOMETHING HITTING IT BUT COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING OR ANY SIGN THAT AN OBJECT HIT THE WINDOW. WHEN I WENT ONLINE TO SEE WHAT IT COST TO REPLACE I NOTICED THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING ON FORD TRUCKS SO I FIGURED I NEED TO PUT MINE ON FILE ALSO.
MY TRUCK WOULD RANDOMLY HESITATE DURING THE ACCELERATION PHASE. EVENTUALLY IT LED TO ME BEING STRANDED DUE TO THE INABILITY OF THE VEHICLE TO START. TRUCKED WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND I WAS INFORMED THAT THIS WAS A REOCCURRING DESIGN PROBLEM IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM THAT FORD HAS BEEN AWARE OF FOR QUITE SOMETIME. I URGE YOUR AGENCY TO STRONGLY CONSIDER A RECALL FOR NUMEROUS REASONS. 1. IT'S A DESIGN FLAW 2. WHILE I WASN'T AN ISSUE FOR ME NORMAL ACCELERATION CAN BE JUST AS IMPORTANT AS NORMAL BRAKING IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS DUE TO SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS.(MERGING, TURNING LEFT ACROSS TRAFFIC, ETC.) 3. IT WASN'T AN ISSUE FOR ME BUT MY SERVICE INVOICE INDICATED A SLIGHT BURN ON THE FUSE TERMINAL. OBVIOUSLY A POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD DUE TO POOR DESIGN. THANK YOU FOR UPON CONSIDERATION.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKING DISTANCE WAS EXTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V345000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO TUSCALOOSA FORD (5801 MCFARLAND BLVD E, TUSCALOOSA, AL 35405, (205) 304-0719) WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE PART WAS AVAILABLE HOWEVER, APPROVAL FROM THE MANUFACTURER WAS NEEDED TO FACILITATE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
WARNING LIGHT APPEARS "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC", THEN LOST POWER STEERING. THIS HAPPENED TWICE WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. HAPPENING INTERMITTENTLY. DROVE TO FORD DEALERSHIP. DIAGNOSIS WAS DEFECTIVE ELECTRONIC STEERING GEAR. FORD HAD RECALL ON THIS SAME ISSUE BY RECALL #14S09, BUT MY TRUCK WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND COULD HAVE CAUSED AN AWFUL ACCIDENT. OBVIOUSLY THE EPAS STEERING GEAR IS DEFECTIVE AND VEHICLES WITH IT NEED TO BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE HAS A MAJOR ACCIDENT.
Had to have lead frame changed in transmission because truck was shifting gears on its own. Some time it would lock the tires up which was a major hazard as the transmission dropped from 4th to 1st while traveling at 40 miles per hour. Also would start in second the shift to 5th one it’s own.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED FROM 5TH TO 1ST GEAR WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RIPLEY AND FLETCHER FORD (80 E MAIN ST, PARIS, ME 04281) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE OR RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE LOW BRAKE FLUID WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BO BEUCKMAN QUALITY FORD LOCATED AT 15675 MANCHESTER RD, ELLISVILLE, MO 63011, (636) 227-5700, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BRAKE SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE FLUSHED. ADDITIONALLY, THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER ALSO CONFIRMED THAT PARTS FOR THE RECALL REPAIR WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,338. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle started stalling and failed to accelerate as needed. Additionally, the maintenance warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road and restart the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle operated as needed. The vehicle was diagnosed and the throttle body was replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 41,000.
PROBLEM: CRANK NO START. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. TURNS OUT TO BE THE FUSE FOR THE FUEL PUMP. HEATS UP ON ONE SIDE AND LOOKS TO BE MELTING. NEVER POPS THE FUSE. ALLOWS THE TRUCK TO START SOMETIMES AND WHEN YOU LEAST TO EXPECT IT JUST KEEPS CRANKING WITH NO START. AFRAID IT MAY CAUSE A FIRE!
VEHICLE WOULD LOSE ALL ABILITY TO ACCELERATE OR USE ANY TYPE OF THROTTLE CONTROL WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. HAD TO CONTINUALLY DRIFT TO A SHOULDER ON THE HIGHWAY TO TURN OFF VEHICLE BECAUSE THE THROTTLE BODY WENT BAD. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, VEHICLE BECAME INOPERABLE AND UNSAFE TO BE ON ANY ROADWAY. *TR
WHILE COMING TO A STOP AND APPLYING THE BRAKES, I'VE NOTICED OVER THE LAST SEVERAL DAYS THAT THE BRAKES HAVE BECOME SOFT, ALMOST GOING COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR AT TIMES. ALSO, WHILE STOPPED AND APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE BRAKE PEDAL SLOWLY SINKS TOWARDS THE FLOOR. I HAVE CHECK THE TRUCK FOR POSSIBLE LEAKS AND HAVE FOUND NONE APPARENT. THE RESERVOIR IS DOWN A BIT BUT AGAIN, NO VISIBLE LEAKS. I CHECKED FORD'S SITE FOR A POSSIBLE RECALL AND IT SAYS THERE IS NONE. HOWEVER, I KNOW THERE IS SOME 2013 AND 2014 MODELS WITH A MASTER CYLINDER RECALL. I'M THINKING MAYBE THE RECALL DIDN'T INCLUDE ENOUGH VEHICLES BECAUSE IT SOUNDS LIKE MY TRUCK IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED 65 TO 75 THE TRUCK JUST SHUTS DOWN ,STOPS RUNNING THIS IS THE 4TH TIME IN 5 YEARS THIS HAS HAPPENED TO US ALMOST HAD A MAJOR REAR END MISHAP AS A SEMI WAS ON US GOING UP A BRIDGE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC,A WRENCH SHOWED UP ON DASH DISPLAY TRUCK STARTED BUT DIED 3 MORE TIMES AT ROAD SPEED IN 20 MILES. *TR
FRIDAY, JUNE 12TH, 2020, I WAS PARKED AND HEARD A LOUD BANG AROUND 12:10 AM, TURNS OUT MY REAR WINDOW SHATTERED. IT WAS 79 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT, HIGH HUMIDITY, AND REAR DEFROSTER WAS POWERED ON AT 12:00 AM, DIDN'T NOTICE THE DAMAGE UNTIL THE MORNING. NO IMPACT MARKS OR DIRECT AREA THAT STARTED THE SHATTER, IT SHATTERED EQUALLY AT ALL SPOTS. *TR
DUE TO THE FUSE BOX BEING IS LOCATED ABOVE THE RADIATOR, IT IS EXPOSED TO DIRECT HEAT, AND CAUSED THE FUEL PUMP RELAY FUSE TO COMPLETELY MELT. THIS CAUSED MY TRUCK TO COMPLETELY DIE TWICE WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE, AND FORD SHOULD RECALL THIS ISSUE SINCE IT IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE THAT DRIVERS ARE HAVING. A SIMPLE FUSE BOX RELOCATION WOULD BE AN EASY SOLUTION. *TR
2014 F150 WITH 61,000 MILES INTERMITTENTLY LOSES POWER STEERING. HAD IT AT THE DEALERSHIP TWICE UNTIL THE CONDITION HAPPENED. I WAS TOLD THAT THE STEERING SHAFT IS FAILING AND MUST BE REPLACED (APPROX. COST $1900). DOING RESEARCH I FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE 2014 F150 (NHTSA ID 14V316000) IN WHICH THE STEERING ASSIST WAS INCORRECTLY ASSEMBLED AND MUST BE REPLACED. ALSO, THE RECALL ONLY INCLUDES TRUCKS MANUFACTURED BETWEEN MAY 26 AND JUNE 19, I'M TOLD MY TRUCK WAS NOT MANUFACTURED DURING THAT TIME AND I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR. *TR
I HAVE 86000 MILES ON MY TRUCK AND NOTICED A KNOCKING NOISE UPON STARTING TURNS OUT I HAVE A STRETCHED TIMING CHAIN AND MY EXTENDED WARRANTY WONT COVER IT THIS IS NOW THE SECOND FORD I HAVE BEEN TAKEN TO THE CLEANERS. *TR

TOOK OTHER CAR TO PURCHASE, CAME BACK AND FILLED, AND BRAKE FLUID ALL DRAINED OUT. HAD TO UNHOOK TRAILER AND HAVE VEHICLE TOWED. LOCAL DEALER REPLACED MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER AND BOOSTER THE NEXT DAY. SPENT $719 PLUS FINDING ACCOMMODATIONS FOR THE NIGHT, DEALER SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL AT THAT TIME. DROVE NEARLY 600 MILES, AND THAT NIGHT WE LOST POWER. ANDHAD TO HAVE THE TRUCK TOWED AGAIN. THIS TIME THEY SAID IT WAS A DEFECTIVE THROTTLE BODY. HAD TO STAY 1 NIGHT IN A HOTEL, THEN 3 MORE NIGHTS IN AN RV PARK WAITING FOR PARTS, AND SPENT $445 IN REPAIRS. OUR MOVE WAS DELAYED SEVERAL DAYS WITH ALL OF THIS, DUE TO A TRUCK THAT HAD LESS THAN 60,000 MILES ON IT, AND HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED. I SINCE INADVERTENTLY FOUND OUT THAT MASTER CYLINDER AND BOOSTER HAVE NOW BEEN RECALLED, BUT I HAVE TO PHYSICALLY GO TO A FORD DEALER TO REQUEST A REFUND, AND WAS TOLD IT COULD TAKE 6-8 WEEKS. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT IT WOULD NOT COVER THE THROTTLE BODY. TRUCK JUST HIT 100K MILES AND RECENTLY STARTED TO DOWN SHIFT AT TIMES. THE PAST COUPLE DAYS WE TRIED TO DRIVE THE CAR OUT OF MY NEIGHBORHOOD WHICH HAS HILLS AND GOING UP HILL THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN WE PRESS THE GAS. ISSUE OCCURS WHEN STARTING THE TRUCK, PUTTING THE TRUCK INTO DRIVE TO LEAVE FROM WHERE THE TRUCK WAS PARKED. THE TRUCK WILL SOMETIMES SHIFT INTO 5TH GEAR AS SOON AS YOU PUT IT INTO DRIVE. AS YOU MOVE FORWARD IT WILL NOT SHIFT DOWN INTO FIRST, IT WILL STAY IN 5TH GEAR. IF YOU STOP THE TRUCK, SHIFT INTO PARK, SHUT THE TRUCK OFF, THEN RESTART THE TRUCK AND PUT IT BACK INTO DRIVE IT WILL FUNCTION PROPERLY. IT WILL START OUT IN 1ST AND THEN SHIFT AS NEEDED DEPENDING ON THE SPEED YOU ARE GOING. WHEN DRIVING THE TRUCK ABOVE 40 AND THEN COMING TO AN INTERSECTION AND SLOWING DOWN TO ABOUT 20 MILES AN HOUR TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN THE TRUCK WILL DOWN SHIFT INTO 1ST GEAR SUDDENLY (SHOULD BE RUNNING IN 3RD GEAR AT THIS POINT) AND THE ENGINE WILL REV UP SUBSTANTIALLY, ONCE THE TRUCK HAS TURNED THE CORNER AND YOU STEP ON THE GAS THE TRUCK WILL THEN SHIFT BACK UP INTO THE PROPER GEAR (3RD GEAR OR SO). ON OCCASION WHEN YOU START THE TRUCK AND TRY TO DRIVE THE TRUCK FROM A PARKED POSITION IT WILL ACT ERRATIC BY SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 5TH (GOING LESS THAN 5 MILES AN HOUR AT THIS POINT), THEN DOWN TO 3RD EVEN THOUGH THE TRUCK IS ONLY GOING 5-10 MILES AN HOUR. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FEBRUARY 2020 FROM SNYDER MOTORS-BOZEMAN, AND DROVE IT FROM APPROXIMATELY 107K TO 110K MILES WITH NO ISSUES. THIS VEHICLE FIRST PERFORMED THIS MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE ON APPROXIMATELY MAY 10TH, 2020. I WAS ATTEMPTING TO PASS A VEHICLE ON THE TWO-LANE MONTANA HIGHWAY FROM NORRIS, MT TO FOUR CORNERS, MT. I QUICKLY ACCELERATED FROM 65MPH TO 80MPH AND PASSED THEM IN THE LEFT LANE DURING A PASSABLE STRETCH. JUST AS I HAD ALMOST FINISHED PASSING, I NOTICED THE LIGHT THAT INDICATES MY MODE OF DRIVE (PARK, NEUTRAL, REVERSE, ETC.) FLICKER VERY QUICKLY AND ERRATICALLY BETWEEN THE DIFFERENT DRIVE MODES.
