2013-2014 BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER LEAKING INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER....MY 2014 F150 HAS THIS SAME FAILURE WITH 58K MILES ON THE VEHICLE. IT SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AND INCLUDE THIS VEHICLE IN THE RECALL. MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE THIS MORNING AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WHEN SLOWING TO MERGE ONTO A US HIGHWAY HERE IN DAGSBORO, DELAWARE 19939. WINDSHIELD WIPER/TURN SIGNAL SWITCH RECALL....THIS 2014 FORD F150 HAS THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS THOSE THAT FALL UNDER THE RECALL NOTICE WHEREAS THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL ALL OF A SUDDEN COME ON AND YOU CANNOT GET IT TO TURN OFF. NO MATTER IF YOU ARE MOVING OR NOT THIS CAN OCCUR SPORADICALLY WITHOUT WARNING.
2014 F150 W/~55,000 MILES- (1) 7/30/19- CARRYING LIGHT LOAD IN BED (200 LBS+/-) & 2 PEOPLE INCLUDING DRIVER, ON MAJOR HIGHWAY DURING RUSH HOUR ACCELERATING UP HILL, HAD DRIVEN 15 MINUTES WITHOUT ISSUES. VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST ALL POWER AND TACHOMETER RED LINED. DID NOT NOTICE IF ANY WARNING LIGHTS ON AS WAS TRYING DESPERATELY NOT TO BE DEAD DUE TO 18 WHEELER RIGHT BEHIND ME. JUST AS SUDDENLY RESOLVED AFTER ABOUT 10 SECONDS. (2) 7/6/19- TRUCK IN PARK WITH EMERGENCY BRAKE ENGAGED, FACING UPHILL ON BOAT RAMP WITH LIGHTWEIGHT BOAT TRAILER IN TOW & IN "TOW/HAUL MODE". (NO BOAT, ONLY DRIVER & 200-300 LBS LOAD IN BED) DISENGAGED EMERGENCY BRAKE & VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARD WHILE STILL IN PARK. BRAKED. PUT IN DRIVE & VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARD BEFORE FINALLY ENGAGING & ABLE TO ACCELLERATE UP RAMP. (3) FREQUENTLY, SINCE TRUCK BRAND NEW, HEAR A "THUNK" WHEN SHIFTING FROM PARK TO DRIVE (ON FLAT SURFACE) & ESPECIALLY LOUD, EVERY TIME I SHIFT FROM PARK TO REVERSE (ALSO ON FLAT SURFACE) & ALWAYS DOING EITHER IF ON A HILL. TOOK TO DEALER WHEN STILL UNDER WARRANTEE WHO SAYS THIS IS NORMAL. I LIVE IN A VERY FLAT AREA SO ONLY DISCOVERED THAT TRANSMISSION HESITATES &/OR SLIPS ON THESE OCCASIONS, AFTER WARRANTEE EXPIRED. TAKING IT TO MY TRUSTED MECHANIC WHO EMPLOYS A CERTIFIED FORD TRUCK MASTER MECHANIC & HAS NO FINANCIAL REASON TO DOWNPLAY ISSUES.
ON TUESDAY, 7/23/2019 WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW 80'S IN THE AFTERNOON AND HIGH 50'S IN THE MORNING BY 3:30 P.M IN MY 2014 FORD F-150, PURCHASED FROM TEXAS, CURRENTLY IN KANSAS, MY REAR, LEFT, TRI-WINDOW SHATTERED WHILE PARKED AT MY JOB LOCATION. MY TRUCK WAS PARKED IN A STATIONARY POSITION FOR 8 HOURS. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF ANYTHING IMPACTING MY WINDOW AND ACCORDING TO THE GOVERNMENT MECHANICS THAT LOOKED AT MY WINDOW, "HEAT GOT TO IT", MY WINDOW WAS BROKEN BY THE ELEMENTS.
I AM EXPERIENCING SYMPTOMS LIKE THOSE OUTLINED IN THE RECALL AFFECTING 2011-2013 F-150 TRUCKS (AMONG OTHER VEHICLES) WITH THE 6R80 TRANSMISSION. IT SHIFTS ERRATICALLY AND ABRUPTLY, AND TODAY, I HAD IT DOWNSHIFT FROM 6TH TO 1ST ON THE HIGHWAY AS I WAS CHANGING LANES. THANKFULLY THE TIRES DIDN'T LOCK UP. THE ENGINE REVVED FREELY ALL THE WAY TO REDLINE WHEN THIS OCCURED, GIVEN THE HISTORY OF THESE DOCUMENTED AND REPORTED ISSUES, I'M UNSURE IF THE SECOND WAVE OF RECALLS FROM EARLIER THIS YEAR MANAGED TO INCLUDE ALL OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WALT SWEENEY FORD (5400 GLENWAY AVE, CINCINNATI, OH 45238) FOR SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TWO FRONTAL COIL SPRINGS WERE DAMAGED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000.
I HAD USE THE TRUCK ALL WEEKEND, IT WAS RUNNING FINE, PARKED IT IN MY DRIVEWAY. STARTED VEHICLE MONDAY MORNING AND GOT A WARNING LIGHT SAYING "BRAKE FLUID LOW". I'VE NEVER SEEN THIS LIGHT IN MY LIFE, LET ALONE SINCE OWNING THIS TRUCK. PUSHED THE BRAKE PEDAL, AND IT WENT TO THE FLOOR, THERE WERE NO BRAKES. CHECKED THE RESERVOIR, THERE WAS NO FLUID. CALLED EL CAJON FORD, IN CA. TOLD THEM I WAS HAVING IT TOWED IN. IN THE MEANTIME, GOT ON LINE TO RESEARCH POSSIBLE PROBLEMS, FOUND THAT THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM. GOT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE SERVICE ADVISOR ACKNOWLEDGED THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL, BUT SAID HE WOULD NEED TO INSPECT THE TRUCK. CALLED ME BACK AND CONFIRMED THIS WAS THE ISSUE, BUT SAID MY VIN WAS NOT ONE OF THE RECALLED VEHICLES. SAME PARTS, SAME PROBLEM, BUT NOT COVERED. I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAITED TWO DAYS FOR THEM TO DETERMINE THEY WERE NOT GOING TO COVER THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS A FACTORY DEFECT, NOT TO MENTION A SAFETY HAZARD, THAT IS ACKNOWLEDGED BY FORD, AND THEY ARE NOT STANDING BEHIND IT. WAS TOLD IT WAS ONLY CERTAIN VIN MADE IN CERTAIN PLANTS. IT'S THE MASTER CYLINDER, THAT MOST LIKELY MADE BY ONE MANUFACTURER AND SHIPS TO ALL FORD PLANTS,
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE IGNITION WAS CYCLED OFF AND ON AND THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS INTENDED FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 MILES OF DRIVING BEFORE THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT USED AN ODB CODE READER TO PERFORM A DIAGNOSTIC TEST ON THE VEHICLE, WHICH INDICATED A P0722-OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NICK MAYER FORD (LOCATED AT 6200 MAYFIELD RD, MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, OH 44124, (440) 449-1000) WAS CONTACTED BY PHONE AND NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 131,000. PIIR= Y.
MASTER CYLINDER DUMPING BRAKE FLUID INTO BRAKE BOOSTER CAUSING VEHICLE TO HAVE NO FLUID IN RESIVOR AND NO BRAKE PEDAL. THERE WAS A RECALL ON SOME 2014 MODELS. DEALER WHO REPAIRED MIND SAID THERE IS NO OPEN RECALL. I DONT KNOW IF THIS WAS REPAIRED BEFORE. THIS HAPPENED ON HIGHWAY 408 IN FLORIDA. ORLANDO AREA.
NO RADIO AND TIME FLASHES ON DISPLAY.
WHILE DRIVING TO WORK I GOT A WARNING ENGINE IN MY TRUCK THAT INDICATED I HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY BRAKES. I TOOK IT STRAIGHT TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM. ALL OF THE BRAKE FLUID HAD LEAKED INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND HAD BEEN BURNT OFF IN THE ENGINE. HE TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A RECALL, BUT I WOULD HAVE TO CHECK WITH FORD. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED IT FROM AND WAS TOLD THAT EVEN THOUGH I HAD EXPERIENCED THE EXACT FAILURE DESCRIBED IN RECALL#16V345000, AND EVEN THOUGH MY TRUCK IS THE EXACT MAKE & MODEL INCLUDED IN THE RECALL THAT MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED AND THEREFORE WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. MY TRUCK IS 5 YEARS OLD AND ONLY HAS 42K MILES ON IT. FORD IS OFFERING TO REPLACE THE MASTER CYLINDER & BRAKE BOOSTER FOR A COST OF $1032 +TAX. WITH AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC'S DIAGNOSIS AND FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENTS SAME DIAGNOSIS THAT THE FAILURE AND THE MAKE & MODEL ARE IDENTICAL, I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY MY TRUCK IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL AND REQUEST A FURTHER INVESTIGATION AS TO WHY FORD IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE FAILED COMPONENTS.
AFTER TAKING A 100 MILE TRIP TRUCK WAS PARKED FOR 24 HOURS. AS I STARTED VEHICLE INFORMATION SCREEN SHOWED A LOW BRAKE FLUID LEVEL AND A BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ON. AFTER EXPLORING THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS EXTREMELY. AFTER EXAMINING ALL BRAKE LINES AND THE GROUND FOR LEAKING FLUID THER WAS NONE/WET SPOTS ANY WHERE.I WENT TO A CARE STORE WITH A DIFFERENT VEHICLE I ADDED 12 FLUID OUNCES OF DOT 4 BRAKE FLUID. AFTER TESTING THE BRAKES DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL 4 OR 5 TIMES THE PEDAL STAYED VERY SOFT AND DEPESSED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. ONCE AGAIN THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS EMPTY OF FLUID WIT ABSOLUTELY NO OIL VISIBLE ON THE TRUCK OR ON GROUND .HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO A REPAIR FACILITY. I WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC THAT MASTER CYLINDER FAIL AND ALL FLUID ACCUMULATED IN THE BOOSTER PUMP. I AM AWARE THE FORD HAS RECALLED 2013/2014 FF-150 WITH THE 3.5 ENGINE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM..
THE RECIRCULATION/FRESH AIR FLAP DOOR CONNECTION TO THE ACTUATOR BROKE OFF AND FELL INTO THE AC HEATER BLOWER MOTOR FAN. CURRENT RESULTS ARE; 1) NO CONTROL OVER AIR FLOW WHETHER WITHIN THE CABIN (RECIRCULATION VERSUS "FRESH" AIR) AND 2) THAT IT MAKES A TERRIBLE NOISE AND VIBRATION AS THE BROKEN PART IS WITHIN THE CIRCULAR FAN. EVENTUAL RESULT COULD BE 1) BURN-OUT OF THE FAN MOTOR WITH POSSIBLE OVERHEATING OF THE FAN MOTOR (ELECTRICAL FIRE?), 2) HEAT PROBLEMS FOR PASSENGERS 3) FAILURE TO DEFROST WINDSHIELD UNDER COLD CONDITIONS. IN READING INTERNET POSTINGS (FORUMS), THIS IS APPARENTLY A COMMON PROBLEM WITH A HIGH COST TO HAVE REPAIRED, FOR A SIMPLE BROKEN PIECE OF PLASTIC.
MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER FAILURE. BRAKES FAILED AND HAD TO RUN THROUGH A STOP LIGHT. SAME FAILURE AS FORD RECALL 16S24
MY TRUCK DOESN'T WANT TO STEER RIGHT. IT'S VERY HARD TO STEER AND SOMETIMES THE STEERING WHEEL STICKS. HEARD THEY ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH THE ELECTRONIC STEERING IN THESE TRUCKS. THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION WHEN THIS IS HAPPENING AND IT'S WHEN YOU ARE GOING AROUND A BEND. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY TO GET THIS FIXED. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. IT HAPPENS EVERYTIME I DRIVE.
WITH 56000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE, LOST ALL BRAKE FLUID. ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE AND FOUND ALMOST NO EFFECTIVE BRAKING WAS POSSIBLE. LOW BRAKE FLUID LEVEL CAME ON JUST PRIOR TO PARKING THE TRUCK, BRAKES SEEMED NORMAL. WHEN I WENT TO LEAVE PARKING SPOT A FEW HOURS LATER, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR.
STEERING IS ERRATIC STEERING IS HARD TO TURN FROM LEFT TO RIGHT . AFTER TURNS TRUCK FAILS TO RETURN TO CENTER. HAD VEHICLE AT AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP FOR SERVICE AND STATED ALL FRONT END COMPONENTS ARE GOOD A RE FLASH OF THE STEERING RACK AND PCM WAS DONE WITH NO CHANGE TO THE STEERING.
AFTER PULLING OUT OF THE PARKING LOT OF THE PLACE WE STAYED AND DRIVING 1/2 MILE ON A 2 LANE ROAD, I ATTEMPTED TO PULL OVER AT A GAS STATION FOR GAS BEFORE GETTING ONTO THE INTERSTATE. I NOTICED THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS VERY SPONGY AND BRAKING WAS BARELY RESPONSIVE. THE PEDAL WAS PRESSED TO THE FLOOR AND THEN THE CHECK BRAKES INDICATOR MESSAGE DINGED ON THE TRUCK'S INFO DISPLAY AS I WAS SLOWLY ABLE TO PULL INTO THE GAS STATION. AFTER USING THE E-BRAKE TO ASSIST IN BRINGING THE TRUCK TO A STOP, I PLACED THE TRUCK IN PARK AND RAISED THE HOOD. I CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR LEVEL AND IT WAS WELL BELOW THE MINIMUM LINE AND WAS CLOSE TO COMPLETELY EMPTY. I CRAWLED UNDER THE VEHICLE TO VISUALLY INSPECT FOR LEAKS OF ANY KIND FROM THE BRAKE LINES FOLLOWING THEM UP TO THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER WITH NO PRESENCE OF ANY LEAKING BRAKE FLUID. I ADDED A TOTAL OF 2 QUARTS OF DOT 4 BRAKE FLUID TO THE RESERVOIR IN THE HOPES THAT MAYBE THE SYSTEM WAS JUST LOW SOMEHOW. I DROVE THE TRUCK BACK TO THE PARK WE HAD JUST LEFT ONLY A LITTLE OVER A HALF MILE AWAY AND PARKED THE VEHICLE AS THE BRAKING WAS STILL GREATLY DIMINISHED. AS IT IS THE WEEKEND, I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE SERVICED. I HAVE CALLED THE FORD RECALL HELP LINE AND WAS TOLD THAT MY TRUCK WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE 2013-2014 F150 VEHICLE RECALL EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE 3.5 ECOBOOST MODEL AND WAS BUILT USING THE IDENTICAL BRAKE COMPONENTS THAT WERE RECALLED BY FORD. BASED ON THE DESCRIPTION OF THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER FAILURE CONDITIONS INDICATED IN THE 16S24 FORD RECALL AND THE CONDITIONS I AM EXPERIENCING WITH MY VEHICLE'S BRAKE FAILURE, I AM CONFIDENT THESE CONDITIONS ARE RELATED AND THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER HAS FAILED FLOODING THE BRAKE BOOSTER WITH BRAKE FLUID.
REAR SEAL ON BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER FAILED AND ALL FLUID WENT INTO BRAKE BOOSTER RESULTING IN COMPLETE LOSS OF BRAKES. THIS WAS A HUGE RECALL BUT DID NOT COVER MY VEHICLE. EMERGENCY BRAKE HAD TO BE USED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. I WAS ON CITY STREET AND NARROWLY AVOIDED A CRASH AT AN INTERSECTION. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO MEL HAMBLETON FORD IN WICHITA KS. DIAGNOSED THERE AND CURRENTLY BEING REPAIRED FOR APPROXIMATELY $800. RECALL DOES NOT COVER MY VIN NUMBER AND THERE IS NO WARRANTY.
PERIODICALLY SPEEDOMETER STARTS MOVING ERRATICALLY AT CONSTANT SPEED. AS A RESULT OF THIS THE ENGINE STARTS SHIFTING GEARS RAPIDLY. THIS WEEK WHILE DRIVING 60MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, THE ENGINE SHIFTED ABRUPTLY FROM 6TH TO 1ST GEAR CAUSING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
FOUND THE BRAKE FLUID TO HAVE SUDDENLY LEAKED AND LOST COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE CAR'S BRAKES SYSTEM WHILE DRIVING. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND ALMOST HAD THE TRUCK ROLL INTO A BUSY INTERSECTION WHILE DRIVING ON A DOWNHILL STREET. NO MODIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN PERFORMED TO THE TRUCK'S BRAKE SYSTEM AND TRUCK HAS BEEN WITH LOW MILEAGE (36000~). TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER TO FIX AND THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRED THAT SAME WEEK.
TRUCK GAVE "SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC" WARNING. ONLY 1 DAY LATER, A LOUD SQUEALING CAME FROM FRONT OF TRUCK, THEN LESS THAT 1 MINUTE LATER, ALL STEERING WAS OUT. FORTUNATELY I WAS IN A PARKING LOT WHEN THE STEERING WENT OUT WHILE TRYING TO PARK THE VEHICLE. THE NOISE CAME WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL EITHER RIGHT OR LEFT. AS OF 6/18/2019, WHILE CHECKING MILEAGE FOR THIS REPORT, A WARNING OF "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE" CAME ON.
WHILE DRIVING, I HAD A "LOW BRAKE FLUID" LIGHT COME ON. WHEN I APPROACHED THE NEXT INTERSECTION THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALMOST ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I THEN PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND THE BRAKES FAILED COMPLETELY HAVING USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP. I OPENED THE HOOD AND INSPECTED THE MASTER CYLINDER AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS NO BRAKE FLUID. I ALSO NOTICED THAT WHEN I REMOVED THE CAP ON THE MASTER CYLINDER THE THERE WAS SUCTION IN THE RESERVOIR. MY CONCLUSION IS THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER HAS FAILED AND THE BRAKE FLUID IS BEING SUCKED INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. I CALLED THE FORD DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE.
'POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT ' COMES ON SCREEN AND POWER STEERING SUDDENLY GOES OUT HAPPENS WHILE IN MOTION OR DURING STARTUP. EVENTUALLY COMES BACK ON AFTER TURNING VEHICLE OFF AND ON A FEW TIMES.
I HAVE A NOTIFICATION LIGHT ON THE DASH STATING THAT MY LEFT REAR DOOR IS OPEN, WHEN IN FACT, IT IS NOT. THERE IS A FAULTY WIRE I BELIEVE THAT IS CAUSING THIS ISSUE. ALSO, I CANNOT LOCK MY ENTIRE TRUCK WITH THE KEY FOB BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE, AND I CAN ONLY DO IT MANUALLY. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. ALSO, MY FRONT MAP LIGHTS AND THE REAR WINDOW DEFROST DOES NOT WORK. I LIVE IN A COLD STATE (INDIANA) SO IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE THESE ELECTRICAL ISSUES TAKEN CARE OF. JUST LIKE MOST PEOPLE, I HAVE CHILDREN THAT ARE FREQUENTLY IN MY TRUCK. NOTHING HAS BEEN HIT OR DAMAGED IN ANY WAY. THIS JUST STARTED HAPPENING FOR THE FIRST TIME IN JUNE 2019. I'VE TOLD MY LOCAL FORD DEALER, BUT THEY TELL ME THAT SINCE IT IS NOT ON RECALL I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR IT OUT OF POCKET. I AM A DISABLED VETERAN, AND THAT'S NOT NECESSARILY THE EASIEST THING FOR ME TO DO, ESPECIALLY SINCE IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. I'VE THOUGH ABOUT GETTING AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT HOW CAN I BE SURE THAT WILL COVER THE COST OF THE REPAIRS? THANK YOU

THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V345000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE INDICATOR LIGHT FOR THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG TURNS ON AT RANDOM TIMES WHILE DRIVING. I HAD THE ERROR CODES RAN BY THE DEALERSHIP AND THERE IS A MALFUNCTIONING WEIGHT SENSOR IN THE SEAT RAIL, WHICH WAS RECALLED FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THIS SAME MAKE AND MODEL. THIS LIGHT COMING ON WILL NOT USUALLY SHUT OFF UNTIL THE TRUCK IS SHUT OFF AND THEN IT WILL RESET. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE APRIL OF 2019 AND HAS SLOWLY BECOME MORE CONSISTENT. I HAVE TAKEN A PHOTO OF EACH OCCURRENCE WHEN THE ISSUE STARTED TO BECOME MORE PERSISTENT. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS JUNE 7TH 2019. I HAVE IMAGES FROM MAY 9, 15, 17, 18, 20, 21, 23 2019 AND JUNE 7 2019 WHERE IT OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES THAT DAY.
THE POWER STEERING HAS STOPPED WORKING. THERE IS A LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL AND IMPAIRED STEERING. THE TRUCK IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE AND A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD. WE WERE TOLD BY OUR MECHANIC AFTER HE DIAGNOSED IT THAT THIS PROBLEM WAS PART OF A RECALL. SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 14S09/NHTSA RECALL 14V316. WE WERE THEN TOLD BY THE FORD DEALERSHIP THAT OUR TRUCKS VIN NUMBER IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. THAT MAKES NO SENSE THAT WE WERE TOLD BY THE MECHANIC THAT THE EXACT PROBLEMS WE ARE HAVING IS THE EXACT SAME THING THIS RECALL IS FIR BUT OUR TRUCK DOESN'T FALL UNDER IT. PLEASE EXPLAIN.

LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CAME ON AS I WAS COMING OFF THE FREEWAY ON THE OFF RAMP. PRESSED BRAKES AND HAD NO BRAKES. I HAD TO USE THE PARKING BRAKE TO AVOID SMASHING INTO VEHICLES AT THE STOP LIGHT. AFTER GETTING VEHICLE STOPPED INTO A PARKING LOT. I LOOKED UP MY VEHICLE FOR RECALLS. HAD A RECALL FOR BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER BLOWING FLUID INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. TOOK THE CAR TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER, AND DUE TO THE MILES, THEY GAVE ME THE IMPRESSION MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED BY THE NHTSA RECALL AND THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO GET AUTHORIZATION TO FIX THE VEHICLE, OTHERWISE I'D HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. AFTER HITTING BUMPS IN THE HIGHWAY THE TRUCK STARTS TO WOBBLE UNCONTROLLABLY AND THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT BACK IS TO SLOW DOWN TO 30MPH AND THEN THE WOBBLE WILL STOP. WE HAVE REPLACED THE TRACK BAR, STABILIZER, BRAKES AND ROSTERS, NEW TIRES, AND BALANCES.

AGAIN, AUDIBLE WARNING AND VISUAL INDICATOR SHOWED LOW BRAKE FLUID. ADDED FLUID TO LINE IN CONTAINER. 1 MILE, SAME INDICATORS. UPON INSPECTION, ALL BRAKE FLUID HAS LEAKED INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. NO VISIBLE LEAK OR FLUID ON THE GROUND. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS FOR THE SAME YEAR VEHICLE BUT IT SUPPOSEDLY DOES NOT INCLUDE THIS VIN #. APPARENTLY IT SHOULD.

TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTS WHILE DRIVING 55+ MPH DOWN THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE NOTICED IT DOWNSHIFTING FROM 6TH ALL THE WAY DOWN TO 3RD CAUSING EXCESSIVE RPMS. I TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP WHO SAID IT WAS "BAD GAS" THAT HAD FOULED THE PLUGS. CHARGED ME OVER $300 AND IT'S NOT A BIT BETTER. SEEMINGLY IT OCCURS MOST OFTEN WHEN I LET OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR (I.E. GOING AROUND A CURVE OR TOPPING A HILL) BUT IT IS VERY RANDOM.
ENGINE FAILURE - LIMP MODE - THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE FORD F-150 ECOBOOST THAT FORD AND NHTSA HAVE YET TO ADDRESS/ ISSUE A RECALL. I HAVE OWNED THIS TRUCK FOR LESS THAN A MONTH AND IT HAS TWICE NOW GONE INTO 'LIMP MODE'. MERGING LANES ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE ENGINE FAILED, A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER AND ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. I WAS ABLE TO AVOID A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT AND GET TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. AFTER READING HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE FROM OTHER F150 OWNERS I WAS ABLE TO SEE THAT THE DEALERSHIPS AND FORD KNOW ABOUT THIS ISSUE, BUT HAVE YET TO ADDRESS IT. I CHECKED THE SPARK PLUGS AND THEY WERE FROM THE FACTORY, YET GAPPED INCORRECTLY AS OTHERS HAVE STATED. THE THROTTLE BODY ALSO WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS HORRIBLE PRACTICE BY FORD AND NHTSA SHOULD ADDRESS THE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ON THE ISSUE. THIS IS GOING TO KILL SOMEONE EVENTUALLY. I WILL BE GETTING RID OF THIS TRUCK IMMEDIATELY AND GETTING A RELIABLE TRUCK LIKE I HAD PREVIOUSLY.
3 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS THE ENGINE STOPPED COMPLETELY AND WITHOUT WARNING. WE TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP TWICE AND THEY COULD NOT DETECT A PROBLEM. WE THEN TOOK IT TO AN INDEPENDENT ASA MASTER CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN WITH 38 YEARS EXPERIENCE. HE INFORMED US THAT FORD HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR YEARS AND WILL NOT ADMIT THERE IS A PROBLEM. THROTTLE SYSTEM WAS CLEANED AND WE WILL SEE IF THIS CORRECTS ISSUE. MY PROBLEM IS WITH FORD AND DEALERSHIP THAT DOES NOT EXPLAIN THIS TO THE CUSTOMER. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION AS THE TRUCK JUST STOPS WITH NO WARNING AT 70 MILES AN HOUR! FORD SHOULD TELL THE CUSTOMERS WHAT IS WRONG SO IT CAN BE FIXED INSTEAD OF HIDING THE PROBLEM. I WENT ON THE INTERNET AND READ ABOUT THIS HAPPENING TO OTHER PEOPLE (A BIG ORANGE WRENCH APPEARS IN DISPLAY WHEN IT HAPPENS). THEY KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS!! SOMEONE IS GOING TO DIE AND MAY HAVE ALREADY DUE TO THE LACK OF TRANSPARENCY. IT'S AS IF THEY ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM THEY ARE ADMITTING THERE IS ONE AND THEN BECOME LIABLE TO CORRECT IT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND PEOPLE NEED TO BE MADE AWARE OF IT.

I PULLED OVER LUCKILY SAFELY WITHOUT CAUSING AN ACCIDENT TURNED MY TRUCK OFF AND BACK ON AND DID NOT EXPERIENCE THIS ISSUE AGAIN. THIS IS THE 4TH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. DRIVING ON I-10 IN ARIZONA PULLING A CAMPER ENGINE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. PULLED OVER, RESTARTED ENGINE, TRIED AGAIN, SHUT OFF AGAIN COUPLE MILES LATER. DID THIS SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL WE REACHED FORD DEALER. THEY FOUND FUEL SYSTEM MINI FUSE HAD MELTED IN FUSE PANEL. WITH VERY LITTLE RESEARCH FOUND THIS HAS BEEN A ISSUE SINCE 2009-2014 TRUCKS. FORD REFUSES TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM. THEY HAVE A TSB FOR IT. THEY MOVE FUSE TO OPEN SLOT IN FUSE PANEL & PUT A HEAVIER FUSE THAT CAN HANDLE LOAD. NOT ONLY DID THIS COST ME $500. BUT ALSO PUT ME & MY FAMILY IN EXTREME DANGER (SHUT DOWN ON FREEWAY WITH 18WHEELERS NEXT TO US) SOMEONE NEEDS TO MAKE FORD STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. TEMP WAS 48, LEFT THE HOTEL AND TURNED ON REAR DEFROST, SMELLED A BURNING ELECTRONICS SMELL WITHIN ABOUT 2 MINUTES AFTER TURNING ON THE REAR DEFROST AND HEARD A LOUD POP AS I WAS TRAVELING AT 35MPH. I LOOKED BACK TO SEE MY DRIVERSIDE REAR WINDOW COMPLETELY SHATTERED. CALLED FORD AND ASKED THEM IF THEY NEW OF ANYTHING, THEY JUST BRUSHED ME OFF. TOOK IT IN TO GET LOOKED AT WAS TOLD TIMING CHAIN IS STRETCHED AND ALL 3.5 LITER ECO BOOSTS FROM 2011 TO 2014 HAVE DEFECTIVE TIMING CHAINS BUT FORD HASN'T RECALLED IT YET. APPARENTLY THEY HAVE SENT BULLETINS TO TECHNICIANS ON IT, ADMITTING DESIGN FLAWS. WHY NO RECALL!?
INITIAL STARTUP, VEHICLE IS COLD. STEERING HAS BINDING OCCURRING THAT INCREASES AND DECREASES AS THE WHEEL IS TURNED IN EITHER DIRECTION AS I AM DRIVING, AS IT IS TURNED FROM FULL LEFT TO RIGHT, OR RIGHT TO LEFT. IT REQUIRES SUBSTANTIAL FORCE TO CONTINUE TO TURN THE WHEEL TO GET THE VEHICLE TO GO IN THE DESIRED DIRECTION. AS VEHICLE WARMS UP, THE FORCE REQUIRED TO TURN THE WHEEL LESSENS, BUT STILL REQUIRES SIGNIFICANT FORCE TO STEER IN EITHER DIRECTION. THIS VEHICLE HAS SHUT DOWN DURING OPERATION ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THE FIRST, WAS A MINOR REPAIR. THE SECOND, CAUSED OVER $11,000 IN DAMAGES, AND NOW IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN. EACH TIME IT OCCURS, THE LOSS OF POWER CAUSES A DECREASE IN THE ABILITY TO STEER AND ALL SYSTEMS SHUT DOWN. WITH OUR CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE, WE HAVE BEEN IN FEAR FOR THEIR LIVES AS WE HAVE HAD TO QUICKLY STEER THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE LANE OF TRAFFIC AND HOPE THAT WE ARE ABLE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP.
