The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact’s wife stated that while starting the vehicle, the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard with the low brake fluid warning light illuminated. The contact inspected the vehicle and discovered that the brake fluid level was low. The contact added brake fluid to the reservoir, and the vehicle was driven to the residence. However, upon restarting the vehicle, the low brake fluid warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the brake booster and master cylinder had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,778.
I experienced an abrupt downshift while driving ~60 mph and the speedometer/odometer quit working, an orange wrench light appeared, and the engine light came on. My vehicle had Ford recall 24S37 open, which relates to the OSS and a symptom is an abrupt downshift. I took the truck to the local Ford dealer. They indicated that there were no codes showing- which I am suspicious of given the issues I experienced and I had a private reader read the truck after the recall programming and it did show an O2 sensor code- P0131 and at one point a P0722 code. The Ford dealer performed only the programming as part of the recall. After the recall programming, the truck experienced additional abrupt downshifts. I had to take the truck in again and pay for them to read the code even though I had the codes. After reading the code they indicated that the lead frame needed to be replaced. I had this replaced out of pocket (~$1138.21) and the O2 sensor for a total invoice of $1521.85. I contacted Ford to express my concern and frustration- case #CXH05849514. It appears that the recall programming was not effective in eliminating the problem.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed and went to the floorboard. The "Brake Fluid Low" message was displayed on the instrument panel soon after the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, and brake fluid was added; however, the failure persisted while continuing to drive. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure, and the vehicle was towed to a dealer. While at the dealer, the vehicle was diagnosed with a defective brake master cylinder and brake booster. The contact was informed that the parts needed to be replaced. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V332000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle remained with the dealer unrepaired. The failure mileage was approximately 166,000.

The vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be diagnosed, and it was determined that the transmission lead frame module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.
Ford Recall #24S37. 2014 Ford F150 Transmission Module(6R80). My vehicle downshift while driving and the dashboard lights and speedometer stops working. I notified the Ford Dealership (Capital Ford of Wilmington, NC, and they scheduled an appointment for Feb. 202i6. However, my check light came on, so took my truck to Delaney Tire and Auto, Wilmington, NC. The problem got so bad (daily) I had to have it repaired. Delaney replaced the module for $2,956.47. I am asking Ford to reimburse me the $2,956.47. I have the invoice a repair order.
Vehicle drove fine to work and upon getting in to return home and staring the vehicle, the brake pedal was instantly spongy and low brake fluid alert displayed on dash. There was a difference in 9 hours from when the brakes were fully functional to having brakes were completely out and nonfunctional. Had vehicle towed to local dealership and their diagnosis was "master cylinder is bleeding into the booster" and booster "full of brake fluid." This exact issue has been known and was supposed to be addressed but there have been numerous issues with the new parts installed after the recall leading to subsequent master cylinder/booster failures. Since it has already been "repaired" under the initial recall, the subsequent repair cost $1,300 including diagnostic.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH, the transmission suddenly downshifted into first gear, causing the vehicle to abruptly reduce speed. The vehicle was later taken to the local dealer, who diagnosed that the transmission range circuit and sensor were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact indicated that the vehicle was previously serviced for the NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000(POWER TRAIN). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 149,000.

The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.
While driving the 2014 F150, it will down to randomly into first and then also lose power while accelerating between second and third or second and fourth for a brief period of time.
While leaving the VA parking lot, and after breaking 3 times on the way out, as I approached a major intersection, the break pedal dropped to the floor and a low break fluid warning appeared on the display. My slow approach allowed me to stop. Checked the reservoir and it was empty. I walked to the gas station and purchased break fluid, when I returned, I checked under the vehicle for a leak, to no avail. I walked back to the spot I was parked but there was no indication of a leak. I was able to get my car home, and filled the break container intending on bleeding the lines; however, Florida weather forced to wait a day. Today, Saturday, I proceeded to bleed the lines but the reservoir was empty. Again, no signs of leakage around tires, break lines, reservoir, master cylinder. Everything I have searched regarding this indicates a large population of 2024-18 F150 with a master cylinder failure.
Vehicle Information: 2014 Ford F-150 VIN [XXX] Transmission: 6R80 Description of the problem: My 2014 Ford F-150 has a dangerous transmission issue. It suddenly downshifts from higher gears (like 4th or 5th) into 1st gear while driving, without warning. This creates a serious risk of loss of control or rear-end collision. Ford performed the recall for the 6R80 PCM reprogramming, but the issue persists. The problem was not resolved, and the vehicle still downshifts abruptly. My vehicle has over 200,000 miles, so the extended warranty for the lead frame (program 19N01) no longer applies, but this is a serious safety defect that continues after the recall. I’m requesting that the NHTSA investigate this issue, as it seems the recall fix is not effective in all cases. Many other owners report similar symptoms even after the recall. Safety concern: I feel unsafe driving this vehicle. The transmission can cause a sudden deceleration in traffic, and I fear it may lead to an accident. I was driving about 75mph when my 2014 Ford F150 suddenly downshifted from 6th gear to 2nd. As a result of the unexpected downshift, my body was pushed into the steering wheel, and the rear end of the truck slid sideways as it slowed down to 65mph. The truck had a loss of power and I couldn’t accelerate. When I pulled over on the side of the highway, I used my code reader to read the codes that came up. The codes that came up pointed to Powertrain Control Module. When I looked at the PCM, it said P0720, Output Speed Sensor. I looked up the issue online and found that there is an open recall on the 2014 Ford F150 with the 6R80 transmission, and the recall is the issue I stated above. I went to two different Ford dealerships and they said that my vin isn’t listed under the recall so they won’t fix it. This is the manufacturers issue and they won’t fix it. The truck is unsafe to drive now.

Bought truck on 2/25,. 7/15/25, wife went to store took truck. When she went to stop truck noticed brake pedal was going down but truck stop. Brake light went on so she turned around home. She drove slow when she reached the front of house pressed brake to stop truck brake pedal went all the way down. Could not stop truck with brakes so she hit curb with tire to stop it.I checked brake fluid canister and is was empty. No leaks on street.I called dealer; three days later truck was towed by dealer to their place.I was told master brake cylinder assembly and booster assembly has to be repaired.I paid 1,648.22. I called Ford for any recalls (I was concerned about brakes) I was told that there was a brake recall repaired by All American Old Bridge, dealership I bought the truck from.Repaired was done on April 12, 2017. Recall Number is 16S24 I noticed that it was exactly same problem I paid for. I told Ford what happened and I wanted my money reimbursed At first I was told the warranty expired, it was either 12 months or 12, 000 miles. I explained it was a Safety Recall not a warranty. The person would not allow me to file for reimbursemenent and after going back and forth finally told me file a claim.I did. Another weeks past and I called again, went through the whole explanation again. Asked to speak to supervisor and after a conversation told me go to dealer to file papers.I did and service manager at first started saying the same thing but eventually put in the claim. I waited several weeks, then check with dealer who told me Ford had to give a code. Called Ford was told no code needed.Called dealer and told them. Several weeks later check dealer and was told still needed code. I called Ford, and asked for a code I was told again about the warranty expiring .I spoke with supervisor same problem. Is 4 months. Nothing. Ford is not complying with Federal Safety Recall Law that does not expire. Need investigation about truck brake problem and reimbursement money.

After receiving a call from Mullinax Ford in Mobile, AL regarding a recall for our 2014 Ford F-150 Raptor (recall related to unexpected downshifting), I brought the vehicle to my workplace on [XXX], where a technician performed the software update (flash) on-site. Before the update, the vehicle was functioning without issue. That same evening while driving home, I experienced extremely hard downshifting, initially in lower gears, and worsening over time. The truck now violently downshifts, primarily into 4th gear, and sounds as if the transmission is slipping. I drove the truck again the next morning and the symptoms persisted. I contacted Zachary, the original representative at the dealership, who said it may be part of the “relearning” process. My husband drove it a week later after returning from a business trip and he confirmed the issue. It has progressively worsened to the point of being undrivable. We returned the truck to Mullinax Ford for evaluation on 7/29/25, and they claimed the failure was unrelated to the update and that the transmission needed to be replaced, at our expense. The truck unpredictably drops gears at high speeds, creating a sudden jerk that could lead to loss of control. This poses a serious safety risk to both the driver and others on the road. The dealership performed the recall software update and later diagnosed the truck with transmission failure, but is denying responsibility. No other third-party inspections have been done at this time. There were no warning lights or issues prior to the update. The issue started immediately after the recall software was flashed and worsened over the next 24–48 hours. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and available for inspection. We believe the issue stems directly from the PCM/TCM update applied under recall conditions. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

This 2014 pickup was started at about 8:00 AM and the manager went inside the building for a few minutes, (less than 5). A vender that was delivered petroleum product saw that the truck was smoking and on fire in the cab and he told the technicians in the shop who ran out with fire extinguishers to put the fire out. The doors had locked automatically with the keys inside the vehicle. A spare set of keys were acquired shortly and the vehicle was opened with the key. The vehicle was turned off and the hood was popped. a fire extinguisher was deployed while another technician disconnected the battery which then extinguished the fire. The heater motor had melted out of the dash and the dash had started on fire. The dealer was notified and we were told to call Ford and report to our insurance. We are self insured so there is no one to report to. There were no symptoms, problems leading up to this thermal event. The vehicle has 78,000 miles on it and is in great mechanical shape. I have reported it to Ford Motor Company and they gave me a case number [XXX] Pictures INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Either the brake calipers or the soft brake lines feeding the calipers are sticking/collapsing internally causing the brakes to drag/lock up. This has drastically decreased the driveability of the vehicle as brakes dragging is dangerous. Based on internet searches and forums this appears to be a consistent problem with these pickups as this is the most common issue mentioned. Ford needs to address this problem with a recall before someone gets hurt.
Per the attached letter to 1 A Auto I installed the subject steering shaft and torqued it per their video instructions. It slipped off causing a complete loss of steering because it wasn't properly fabricated. . Thankfully, I was travelling at low speed and was able to safeky stop, make an emergency repair and got the truck home. It caused a break in the airabag clock spring cable and also broke a cable on the steering wheel that connects the guage control on the steering wheel. I bought another shaft from 1 A Auto but it had the same defect described in the attached letter. I did not intsall the second part from from 1A Auto. I bought another shaft from O'Reilly Auto parts which was properly fabricated by Dorman. These parts from 1 A Auto should be recalled before some is injured. Indeed someone may have already been injured but this issue may not be detected as the cause
My truck was recalled. Software updated to correct a sudden downshift to 1st. The software update did not correct the problem. The software update was done TWICE. The Dealer said: "Software update doesn't always fix the sudden downshift problem, unfortunately. You will have to pay to correct the sudden downshift problem. Replacing the rails should fix it. Estimate repair would be about 1300.00 " It ended up costing me $1246.79 to repair the "sudden downshift" (which was the reason for the Safety Recall Notice 24S37 / NHTSA Recall 24V444, in the first place) Ford should be forced to reimburse me for paying for the powertrain Safety Recall 24V444, as the software download didn't work and doesn't always work, despite Ford's knowledge of this issue. Their responsibility doesn't end there. I called Ford Customer Service, and they were not helpful.
This truck only has 35,000 miles on it , so it's a baby! All of a sudden I get a warning light that says there is a problem with my anti lock breaking system. In the 10 years I have had this truck I have never even had the anti lock breaking system engage! The Ford dealership where I bought the truck said I had a DTC C1288. The DTC C1288 on a Ford F150 indicates a brake pressure transducer circuit failure. Specifically, it means the ABS module has detected a problem with the transducer, possibly due to a short or open circuit, where the pressure reading is too high when other inputs suggest a non-pressurized system. This often results in the ESP (Electronic Stability Program) light remaining illuminated. They said if I didn't pay them $3400 parts and labor, my breaks would stop working. This is crazy. The ABS system has never engaged yet they say it's broken. This is very dangerous. Most people don't have $3400 to flush down the toilet like I did. I should not have to pay for this repair. Ford should. The part was defective from day 1. Please help me.
Cam phasers yes engine could blow up cause to lose control of my vehicle yes by a ford dealer no no warning lamp or message rattle at cool startup

There is a serious issue with what Ford is doing to fix a known problem with their transmissions shifting into 1st gear while at highway speed. This happened to me after they put in their software "Patch" that was their idea of how to fix the problem. I have up loaded a detailed explanation of what happened to me with Ford and their safety recall. I also have any bills and cost to me to fix Ford's safety recall.
Ford supposedly repaired my truck via recall 24S37 on June 6 2025. However, while driving at approx 65 mph 2 days later, my truck downshifted again to first gear. This went on for another 2 weeks until I took it back to Crossroads Ford in Henderson NC again and they notated that I have a code P1500 AND CODE p0722 WHICH IS A LEAD FRAME IN TRANSMISSION ISSUE but they did not repair it..AGAIN. It is currently at the same dealership and they called me from Dearborn MI to inform me that I am not covered. It is a 2014 with 308,000 miles. I am relegated to driving 30 mph if I am to drive it as shifting down is unsafe. The issue is that it is a Ford defect even if I am at 308k and they refuse to rectify my issue so that my family can ride safely. The failure was a recurring failure. The contact parked and was no longer driving the vehicle due to safety concerns. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 138,000.
The truck has stiff steering at slow speeds. It experiences the same as the NHTSA recall 14V-316 or Ford Safety Recall 14S09. It is describe as "Safety Recall 14S09, issued by Ford Motor Company, pertains to certain model year 2014 F-150 trucks manufactured between May 26 and June 19, 2014, and equipped with Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS)." I have taken it to Sugarloaf Ford in Winona Minnesota and they recommend replace. But they do not have it as a recall. In the uploaded files, I have the door sticker and my vehicle with a Manufacturing Date is May 2014. This is in the range of the defect production dates. How do I get the Ford company to replace the part of the recall?

Truck randomly downshifts/ jerks really hard while driving all speeds. On 4/19 I was driving 65mph and truck felt like slamming brakes on, while speedometer pin bounces around, then a wrench showed up on the dash screen, I pulled over turned truck off sat for a few minutes, turned it back on, everything seemed finer and continued driving home, with no more issues. On 4/27 I was coming home from groccery store going about 30-35mph truck dropped down to first gear and then back to 4th gear. My pregnant wife and daughter were in the car when this happened. I've called local Ford dealership, and they ask me to come in for diagnosis, but I know this is a factory recall issue via 24V-444. I'm not sure if the truck is safe to drive, this randomly happens, but seems to be happening more and more frequently past 2 months or so
