WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE A WARNING FOR LOW BRAKE FLUID APPEARED ON THE DASH. SHORTLY AFTER I LOST PRESSURE IN THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN TRYING TO BRAKE FOR SLOWER TRAFFIC. I WAS ABLE TO PUMP THE BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN ENOUGH AND WAS ABLE TO GET TO A NEAR BY GAS STATION. THEIR WAS NO BRAKE FLUID LEFT IN THE RESERVOIR AND AFTER ADDING MORE BRAKE FLUID THE RESERVOIR DRAINED WITHIN 5 MINUTES WITH NO VISIBLE LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER HAD FAILED AND DRAINED ALL THE BRAKE FLUID INTO THE VACUUM BOOSTER. I WAS LUCKY THAT I ENOUGH ROOM TO PUMP MY BRAKES TO GAIN CONTROL, OTHERWISE THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT. THIS PART SHOULD NOT FAIL IN THIS MANNER NOR AT 18000 MILE OF VEHICLE LIFE. THE MECHANIC AT THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMED HE HAS SEEN THIS ISSUES ON OTHER F150S TOO.
AS I WAS PASSING A TRUCK THE ENGINE CUT OUT, LOST POWER THE TACH DROPPED FROM 4000 RPM TO BELOW 1000 AND THE ENGINE SHUDDERED VIOLENTLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE AND THE DEALER KEEPS TELLING ME EVERYTHING IS WORKING CORRECTLY. THIS TIME I TOOK VIDEO OF THE INSTRUMENTS TO PROVE IT. THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT FLASHED ALL THE TIME THIS WAS HAPPENING AND THEN WENT OUT WHEN THE ENGINE BEGAN OPERATING PROPERLY.THIS STARTS AFTER YOU TRY TO PASS A VEHICLE AND IT PUTS YOU IN A DANGEROUS POSITION OF BEING IN THE PASSING AREA AND HAVE NO POWER TO GET BY, THIS COULD LEAD TO A MAJOR PROBLEM. I AM A CERTIFIED ACCIDENT INVESTIGATOR AND HAVE BEEN A POLICE OFFICER FOR 45 YEARS. I AM ALSO A MASTER MECHANIC, THIS HAS TO BE CORRECTED BY FORD SOON.
WE WERE ON OUR WAY BACK FROM VACATION IN SOUTH CAROLINA DOING THE SPEED LIMIT OF 70 AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEARD A LOUD BANG, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DROPPED DOWN ON THE TRUCK. THE TRUCK LOST CONTROL AND WENT INTO A GUARD RAIL, THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, THE REAR END OF THE TRUCK CAME AROUND AND THE TRUCK BEGAN TO FLIP. ONCE THE TRUCK CAME TO A STOP THEY HAD TO CUT THE ROOF OFF AND WINDSHIELD TO GET US OUT. I WAS TAKEN BY AMBULANCE TO THE HOSPITAL AND MY SON FOLLOWED WITH THE SHERIFF AND OUR DOG. THERE IS NO EXPLAINATION TO WHY THE PASSENGER SIDE TIRE CAME OFF WITH ONLY A FEW MARKS AND FULLY INTACT. THE MYSTERY TO EVERYONE IS WHY IS THERE ONLY HALF A RIM??? THE RIM WAS OFF THE VEHICLE ALONG WITH THE TIRE BEING OFF THE RIM IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THE SHERIFF LOOKED ALONG WITH OTHER PEOPLE TO NOT FIND THE OTHER HALF THE RIM. THE TOW TRUCK COMPANY LOOKED TO SEE IF THE HALF RIM WAS THERE BUT CANNOT FIND ANYTHING. THE TRUCK AT THE MOMENT IS AT BULL DOG TOWING IN SOUTH CAROLINA (803)865-3800. THE CLAIM IS BEING HANDLED BY HANOVER INSUARANCE - [XXX] - 1-800-628-0250 EXT. [XXX] - CLAIM # - [XXX]. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS CONSIDERING I HAVE FOUND THAT FORD HAS AN ISSUE WITH THERE 2014 FORD EDGE WHEELS BUSTING IN HALF AND THE VEHICLES WRECKING. ACCORDING TO THE ARTICAL YOUR OFFICE IS HANDLING THIS INVESTIGATION OF THE EDGE. IN MAY 2015 I EXPERIENCED A VIOLENT SHAKING IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND BRAKE PEDAL. IT WAS WORSE WHEN TRAVELING DOWNHILL AT HIGHWAY SPEED ON A HIGHWAY. ON JUNE 1 I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WITH 16757 MILES. IT WAS DISMISSED AS POOR BRAKING HABITS THAT WARPED THE ROTORS. THE TIRES WERE ROTATED AND THAT SEEMED TO HELP BUT THE SHAKING WAS STILL EVIDENT. BY 47000 MILES AND MANY VISITS TO THE DEALER THEY RELENTED AND I PAID FOR TWO PARELLI TIRES AT COST DUE TO "TIRE ROT". THE VIOLENT SHAKING HAS NOW CEASED; HOWEVER, THERE IS A SHAKING IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS. I AM CONFIDENT THIS MUST BE CAUSED BY WARPED ROTORS. THEY WERE WARPED ON THE JUNE 1 VISIT AND THEY REMAIN THAT WAY TODAY JULY 6, 2016.
BRAKES DO NOT ALWAYS REACT AS THEY SHOULD WHEN YOU HIT THE BRAKE PEDAL. 1-2 SEC. DELAY
WHEN GOING THROUGH PARK, PROCEEDING 20 MPH GOING INTO A DOWNWARD CURVING TO LEFT, C FOR A SHORT DISTANCE, THEN CAME TO INCLINE, WHEEL WAS NOT WANTING TO STRAIGHTEN UP, CONTINUED TO PROCEED UP HILL; BUT STEERING WOULD NOT STOP STEERING TOTHE LEFT. THE ONLY WAY WAS TO COME TO COMPLETE STOP IN THE CENTER OF ROAD, BEARING MORE IN THE ONCOMING LANE; WAS HIT OR CAUSED TO BE HIT, BY A FORD FOCUS, LEFT DRIVER'S SIDE TO LEFT DRIVER'S SIDE. FLORTUNATELY FOR FOCUS, MY VEHICLE WAS A A COMPLETE STOP, AS UNABLE STRAIGHTEN WHEEL. VEHICLE NOT DRIVEABLE, HAD TO TOW BOTH VEHICLES, AND NOW BEING OUT TRANSPORTATION. THE 2014 WAS PURCHASED IN SPRINGFIELD MISSOURI, THE END OF MARCH; BUT NOT EVER NOTIFIED OF ANY RECALLS, AND ONLY HAVE HAD VEHICLE 1 1/2 MONTHS OR SO. THIS ISSUE HAS CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WHICH MAY HAVE BEEN FATAL FOR THE OTHER VEHICLE. PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW TO PROCEED WITH FORD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. WHILE AT A STOP SIGN, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND FAILED TO RESPOND. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL REQUIRED TO BE DEPRESSED VIOLENTLY IN ORDER TO RESPOND. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE TURBO BOOSTER FAILED TO ENGAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE TURBO NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, THE PASSENGER SIDE TURBO O-RING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED WEEKS LATER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
I WAS DRIVING HWY 290 IN HOUSTON, TX THE LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CAME ON WITHIN AN ADDITIONAL 4 TO 6 MILES I LOST ALL MY BRAKES. LUCKY I DIDN'T PANIC AND WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY AND PULL INTO A STRIP CENTER AND USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP. THE BRAKES WOULD NOT EVEN STOP WHEN TRUCK WAS IDLING. I HAVE NEVER HAD BRAKES FAIL ESPECIALLY WITH A NEW TRUCK. I AM STILL LEARY ABOUT DRIVING A TRUCK WHOSE BRAKES FAILED COMPLETELY AND WILL PROBABLY NEVER GET THAT FEELING OUT OF MY HEAD. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE MASTER CYLINDER FAILED AND PUSHED ALL THE FLUID INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. I CALLED FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND SPOKE WITH A LADY NAMED [XXX]. SHE SAID SHE WAS SORRY BUT PARTS FAIL AND THEY COULD NOT EVEN ISSUE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THE TRUCK. SHE DID OFFER A SERVICE PLAN FOR THE TRUCK. BUT I AM NOT LOOKING FOR SOMETHING FOR FREE I JUST WANT MY TRUCK COVERED AND FEEL SAFE IT IN WITH MY FAMILY. I AM VERY LUCKY THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC AND DIDN'T WRECK OR HAVE MY SON IN THE CAR WITH ME. THIS COMPLAINT IS FOR THE TRAILER TOWING AND HANDLING OF MY FORD F150 PICKUP WITH TRAILER TOW PACKAGES, AND INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE RATED AT ALMOST 8,000 GVWR. WE HAVE EXPERIENCED EXCESSIVE AND DANGEROUS TRAILER SWAYING WITH A 25 FT TRAILER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS THAT WEIGHS UNDER 6000LBS. WE HAVE A LOAD EQUALIZING HITCH ALONG WITH SWAY CONTROL ON THE HITCH. AFTER READING OTHER INTERNET ARTICLES AND DISCUSSING WITH MY LOCAL FORD DEALER THEY RECOMMEND UPGRADING THE TIRES FROM THE "P" SERIES PASSENGER CAR RATED TIRES (P275/65R18), TO A "LOAD RANGE E" TRUCK TIRE. ITS SUGGESTED THAT THE WIMPY SIDE WALL ON "P" RATED TIRES ARE ALLOWING THE SWAY MOTION TO GET OUT OF CONTROL. IF THIS IS REALLY THE PROBLEM, THEN FORD IS MISREPRESENTING THE TOWING CAPABILITIES OF THEIR TRUCK. WHO PUTS CAR TIRES ON THEIR TRUCKS? ITS GOING TO COST ME UP TO $1200 IN NEW TIRES TO FIND OUT IF THIS IS THE FIX. FORD IS IGNORING THIS ISSUE SAYING I JUST NEED TO BUY HEAVIER DUTY TIRES AND MINE ONLY HAVE 1000 MILES ON THEM.
TWO TIMES WHEN ON AN EXPRESSWAY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS DURING A RAIN STORM I HAVE HAD MY ENGINE LOSE POWER AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. BOTH TIMES AFTER SLOWING DOWN THE ENGINE REGAIN POWER AND I COULD CONTINUE MY JOURNEY. I HAVE THE 3.5 TURBO ENGINE AND NOTICED ONLINE THAT THIS COMPLAINT HAS BEEN MENTIONED BY OTHERS. I DID BRING UP MY CONCERNS TO MY FORD DEALER AND THEY CLAIM TO HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF ANY SIMILAR COMPLAINT WITH THIS ENGINE. THE PRESENCE OF FUEL WAS CONFIRMED. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE OR REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,200.
BRAKES FAILURE AT 20,200 MILES. BRAKE BOOSTER AND MASTER CYLINDER FAILED WHILE PULLING OUT OF GARAGE. AFTER STOPPING WITH THE E-BRAKE, SEVERAL DASH WARNING ILLUMINATED AND A MESSAGE OF LOW BRAKE FLUID APPEARED. NO FLUID WAS FOUND IN RESERVOIR AND WAS SUCKED INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. FORD ATTEMPTED TO BLAME THE FAILURE ON THE AFTER MARKET CHARGE AIR COOLER. TRUCK IS S 2014 FORD F-150 PLATINUM 3.5L ECOBOOST 4X4.
PASSENGER AIRBAG WIRE HARNESS TOO SHORT. WHEN BACK OF SEAT WAS MOVED FORWARD WIRES BROKE. FORD DEALER TRIED TO SAY IT WAS OPERATOR ERROR, BUT INFACT THERE WAS NO SLACK ON WIRES TO MOVE WITH SEAT. *TR
WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 55 MPH AND HEARD A LOUD NOISE. MY REAR PASSAGE WINDOW HAD SHATTERED. THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF OTHER DAMAGE TO INDICATE ANYTHING OTHER THAN DEFECTIVE GLASS. *TR

SINCE I PURCHACED MY TRUCK IN MARCH OF LAST YEAR.TWICE I HAD BRAKE PEDAL ISSUES.WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES TRYING STOP. THE PEDAL WAS VERY SLOW TO RETURN TO ITS NORMAL POSITION.THE NEXT TIME THE PEDAL WENT COMPLETELY TO THE FLOORBOARD AS IF I WAS BLEEDING THE BRAKES. AFTER BOTH INCIDENTS I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP'S. BOTH DEALERSHIP'S SAID THEY ARE NORMAL AFTER ROAD TESTING MY TRUCK.
WINDSHIELD GLARE REFLECTION FROM DASH COMPROMISES VISIBILITY WHEN DRIVING IN SUNLIGHT. SUNLIGHT REFLECTS OFF DASH CAUSING GLARE IN WINDSHIELD. MANY PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED (FORUMS ONLINE) THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS AND OCCURS IN MANY VEHICLES. AUTO MANUFACTURES NEED TO PUT EXTREMELY NON-REFLECTIVE MATERIAL ON DASHES TO COUNTER THIS. A DULL DASH MAT REALLY HELPS, PROVING THAT IT CAN BE MITIGATED. *TR

POWER STEERING COMPLETELY WENT OUT. I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH A 2014 FORD F150 RENTAL ABOUT 9 MONTHS AGO. *TR
ACCELERATION LAG IN A ROLLING OR STANDING START. MOST NOTICEABLE WHEN STOPPED WITH TRUCK FACING UPHILL OR SLOWING TO A NEAR STOP AND THEN SLOWLY ACCELERATING (SLOWING FOR A STOP LIGHT THAT TURNS GREEN AS YOU APPROACH THE INTERSECTION). ONCE ACCELERATION KICKS IN, THE VEHICLE JUMPS AS IF THE TRANSMISSION HAS DROPPED FROM NEUTRAL TO BEING INTO GEAR AT INCREASED RPM'S OR THE CLUTCH HAS SLIPPED. GEAR INDICATOR DOESN'T SHOW VEHICLE HAD EVER DROPPED INTO NEUTRAL. IF ACCELERATION RATE IS INCREASED FROM STOP OR ROLLING START, PROBLEM DOES NOT SEAM TO OCCUR. PROBLEM WAS NOTICED FROM BEGINNING OF OWNERSHIP AND HAS BEEN INTERMITTENT EVER SINCE (TRUCK WAS PURCHASED NEW IN MARCH 2015). HAVE NOT TAKEN TO DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AS IT IS INTERMITTENT, BUT TALKED TO A NON-FORD MECHANIC THAT HAD HEARD OF OTHER PEOPLE NOTICING ACCELERATION LAG.
THE REAR PASSENGER SEATS DO NOT LOCK IN PLACE WHEN IN THE LOWERED POSITION. THE OWNERS MANUAL CLEARLY STATES THAT THEY MUST LOCK WHEN LOWERED TO BE SAFE. *TR
WHILE TRAVELING TO SAN DIEGO - AS WE EXITED OFF THE FREEWAY THE CRUISE CONTROL FAILED TO RELEASE. STEPPING ON THE BRAKE, TURNING OFF THE SWITCH DID NOT CHANGE THE STUCK CRUISE CONTROL. WE WERE GOING 70 MPH AS WE EXITED AND CONTINUED AT 70 FOR ABOUT 1/2 MILE - THROUGH 1 STOP SIGN AND 3 STOP LIGHTS BEFORE WERE ABLE TO GET TO A SAFE PLACE TO TURN THE KEY OFF AND LOOSE ALL CONTROL OF STEERING OF THE TRUCK. WE TURNED ONTO A SIDE STREET. TURNED OFF THE TRUCK 10-15 SECONDS - UPON TURNING THE TRUCK BACK ON IT WENT IMMEDIATELY TO 6000 RPM'S BURNING RUBBER ONLY REASON WE DID NOT SPEED OUT OF CONTROL AGAIN IS BECAUSE HAD BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE. TURNED TRUCK OFF AGAIN WAITED 10 MINUTES - TURNED IT ON AGAIN - THE CRUISE CONTROL HAD FINALLY RELEASED. WE DROVE TO THE NEAREST FORD DEALERSHIP WHICH WAS 5 MILES. THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRUCK - WHEN WE RETURNED HOME WE TOOK IT TO OUR LOCAL DEALER WHERE WE BOUGHT THE TRUCK - THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG AND SAID TO BRING IT BACK IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN - WE MAY NOT BE ALIVE NEXT TIME TO BRING IT BACK! *TR
Back up camera does not work more than it does. Just blank blue screen. Sometimes the screen says something like Rearview camera not available. Most of the time it says nothing. If it is on, it's very bad picture w/alot of static lines in it. This problem started in 2015 and steady got worse through the years.
VEHICLE EXHIBITS A SHUDDER/VIBRATION/SHAKE WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP. PROBLEM IS MORE APPARENT WITH WEIGHT ON THE TRUCK. WITH APPROX. 400-500 LBS. OR MORE PROBLEM IS MOST APPARENT. AT 300 MILES, THE PROBLEM BECAME VERY NOTICEABLE. INFORMED DEALER, SET APPOINTMENT. VEHICLE HAD 800 MILES AT SERVICING, 2/23/2015. DEALER REMOVED REAR DRIVELINE AND DROVE THE TRUCK WITH JUST THE FRONT DRIVELINE AND SHUDDER DID NOT OCCUR. DEALER REPLACED ENTIRE REAR DRIVELINE AND PROBLEM PERSISTS. AFTER 8 DAYS AT THE DEALER SERVICE SHOP, CUSTOMER WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM IS NORMAL, ESPECIALLY WITH ANY TYPE OF LOAD. 400LB IS A LOAD???? WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I ATTACH A TOW UNIT TO THIS VEHICLE? IS THIS SAFE? AFTER ACKNOWLEDGING A PROBLEM AND REPLACING THE DRIVELINE, DEALER NOW SAYS THIS IS NORMAL AND HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE SHOCKS AND COMPUTER. BUT REST ASSURED THIS IS NORMAL. WAITING FOR FORD FACTORY REPRESENTATIVE TO INVESTIGATE. PROBLEM IS DISTURBING AND ONE HAS TO WONDER WHAT THE LONG TERM CONSEQUENCES OF THIS SHUDDER IS TO THE VEHICLE, VEHICLE DRIVELINE, ETC. I WAS TOLD NUMEROUS THINGS BY PEOPLE AT THE DEALER; SALESPERSON SAID IT WAS PROBABLY IN NEED OF A TRANSMISSION REFLASH, SHOP FOREMAN ORIGINALLY SAID MAYBE THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH GREASE ON THE DRIVELINE SPLINES. NOW IT'S THE COMPUTER AND THE SHOCKS? I ASKED THE SERVICE MGR. WHY THEY REPLACED THE DRIVELINE IF ITS A NORMAL SITUATION. HE RESPONDED THAT THEY DIDN'T NOTICE THE WEIGHT (400-500LBS UNDER THE TONNEAU COVER) UNTIL AFTER THEY REPLACED THE DRIVELINE. ONE HAS TO WONDER ABOUT DEALER COMPETENCY WHEN THEY APPARENTLY KNOW A PROBLEMS EXIST WITH WEIGHT ON THE TRUCK, YET FAIL TO CHECK FOR WEIGHT ON THE VEHICLE. ALSO, IS THIS NOT SOME SORT OF ACKNOWLEDGEMENT THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM? AS OF 3/2/2015, THE TRUCK IS STILL AT THE DEALER. I'VE SPENT LESS THAN ONE WEEK IN THE TRUCK AND OVER ONE WEEK IN A RAM 1500 RENTAL TRUCK. NO NEW CAR JOY HERE. *TR
DRIVING AT 30 MPH AND SUDDENLY AN ORANGE WRENCH SHOWS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE IS UNRESPONSIVE AND SHUTS DOWN INTO A SAFE MODE WHERE I HAVE NO POWER TO THE GAS PEDAL BUT IT STEERS AND DRIVES VERY SLOWLY. While driving at unknown speeds, the vehicle was sputtering. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the higher-amp fuse 27 was burned. and the fuse was relocated. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred him to the NHTSA hotline. Additionally, the contact stated that while at a stop light, an unknown Toyota crashed into the rear of the vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. The contact sustained injuries to his back and neck, and medical attention was provided. A police report was filed. There was no fire. THE TRUCKS OVERHEATS AND IGNITION COILS FAIL. THIS MAINLY HAPPENS WHEN TRAVELING THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS.THIS CAUSES THE TRUCK TO LOSE POWER AND LEAVES ME STRANDED ON THE HIGHWAY BROKE DOWN. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM EVER SINCE I PURCHASED THE TRUCK NEW. FORD HAS BEEN ABSOLUTELY NO HELP IN SOLVING THE PROBLEM. I HAVE DOCUMENTATION OF OVER TEN IGNITION COILS FAILING AND MULTIPLE ENGINE OVER HEATINGS.

I WAS OUT OF TOWN AND DRIVING IN A VERY SMALL CITY WHERE THERE WERE NO STREET LIGHTS AND ON A VERY DARK NIGHT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO FORD DEALERSHIP IN LEWISTON, IDAHO AND THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BECAUSE THE LIGHTS WERE ONLY ADJUSTABLE VERTICALLY NOT HORIZONTALLY. THEY TOLD ME TO DRIVE WITH MY FOG LIGHTS ON BUT I AM NOT COMFORTABLE DOING THAT BECAUSE APPROXIMATELY 10-20% OF THE APPROACHING VEHICLES FLASH THEIR LIGHTS AT ME SIGNALING THAT MY BRIGHTS ARE ON WHEN THEY ARE NOT. I HAD A FLAT TIRE AND THE LUG WRENCH PROVIDED FROM THE FACTORY WILL NOT GO ONTO THE LUG NUTS.
