This truck is shutting off, especially when I reach a stop and sometimes become hard to start. I take it three times for recall and they refuse to fix the problem. They also charge me and I am at wrist with this vehicle I did because accidental or death and damage properties. I need an immediate solution because it did last had running me around telling me lies. I cannot drive my vehicle and I cannot pass inspection because of this situation. Let me know what I need to do from here .thank you
While traveling at approx 55mph the transmission suddenly down shifted into a lower gear, tires skidded briefly, and speedometer bounced down to 0mph. Seemed to resolve itself until the following day when the vehicle will not shift out of 1st gear at all and speedometer will not move. After some research, it appears to have the same symptoms as recall 19S07 but my VIN is not included. Would like to get the reprogramming done so the sudden downshift will not happen.
I'm currently experiencing problems with what I believe to be the Electronic Power Steering. As I'm driving it feels as though the power Steering goes in and out as it becomes difficult to turn the Steering wheel. It's currently an intermittent issue. I see Ford had recalls for this on other manufacturers dates and would like to know if my vehicle would be added to the same safety recall?
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while her husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, he became aware that the electronic power steering was not functioning properly, requiring increased effort to maneuver the vehicle. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the electronic power steering gear. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V316000 (Steering) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 80,500.
Started the truck by using the remote starter got in the truck and while still in park position the rear slide window popped and shattered, come to find out has happened to lot of other people. They said that the defroster comes on automatically along with the remote iven if not needed . Just bought the truck
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the power steering assist failed to operate as needed. Due to the failure, excessive force was needed to steer the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where a diagnostic test confirmed that the power steering assist was inoperable. The vehicle warranty provider offered to cover the cost of the repair; however, the Ford dealer stated that only authorized Ford parts could be used for the repair; which the warranty did not cover. The vehicle was then taken to two independent mechanics who informed the contact that the vehicle could only be serviced at a Ford dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.
Multiple times now upon entering traffic. My truck will start to take off normally then all of a sudden down shift into 1st gear and not shift out of first until I pull over shut the truck off and restart the truck. Then it seems to drive fine after that.
Steering has become hard at the start of a turn and threw the turn.
The truck’s steering wheel locks up and breaks get hard when doing a turn making it hard to stop and almost being in two accidents a service advancetrack light comes on and stays on till truck is turned off.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle jerked and decelelerated. The accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. Additionally, the contact stated that the brakes were independently activated, and the vehicle stopped suddenly with the rear wheels locking up. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The contact stated that the vehicle was recently serviced by the dealer, and the NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train) recall repair was performed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was advised to take the vehicle back to the dealer to be diagnosed. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
Vehicle downshifts randomly at any speed. Speedometer and tach go all over the place, and truck downshifts to 2nd. can't replicate it for the local ford dealer. At higher speeds tires skidded as it downshifted into second gear. recently downshifted into 1st gear and wouldn't shift until I shut the truck off and restarted it.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at unknown speeds, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. There were no warning lights illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V316000 (Steering). The approximate failure mileage was 180,000.
We replaced the back up camera on 3/26/20. It was showing blank images and sometimes distorted images. Now the vehicle has 144,236 miles and the same issue is occurring. There are numerous year model recalls for this exact issue, yet the 2014 was not included. This will be the third back up camera. This is dangerous and should be recalled.
Two issues. The first issue arose due to a leak in the "y" pipe under the air box. Upon replacing that connector, the throttle body had to be removed to get room to reinstall. Upon reinstallation of the throttle body, the truck falls into limp mode unexpectedly during normal driving, in traffic. Installed ned throttle body from parts store and still throws the p2112 code.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for routine service and the mechanic discovered a crack in the right valve cover. The contact was referred to a local dealer and was informed that there were no recalls or warranties on the vehicle. The contact was provided an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 117,400.
Steering angle sensors in the electronic steering rack randomly lose signal. This causes an ‘AdvanceTrac’ warning, loss of use of turn signals and ABS faults. Problem randomly clears and then repeats. Some F150s had a steering recall previously, but my specific VIN did not.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed, and remained on the floorboard and the vehicle failed to slow down as intended. Additionally, the contact stated that on two separate occasions, while in drive and reverse, the brake pedal was depressed, and the brake pedal remained on the floorboard and the vehicle did not slow down as intended. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the brake master cylinder and brake power booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000.
The transmission slips in first gear when driving under 10 mph, and also slips from 3rd to 4th gears when driving at highway speeds. This is similar to what has happened on the 2011-2013 F150's that were recalled. 2014's should have been included as well. Driving at highway speeds, the transmission downshifted and I was no longer able to accelerate and dangerously but cautiously moved to the slow lane and off the highway. During this time the wrench warning light did come on. I have paid Ford thousands of dollars to fix the issue, but doesn't seem like it got fixed as it's still doing the same thing. I have reported this to multiple ford dealerships since I bought the vehicle in 2015 and not one has been able to fix the issue. this is what they fixed below and still did not fix the issue. AUTO TRANSMISSION HAS P0722, NEEDS A LEADFRAME OT START
Back passenger side small window (one of three across the back, with a sliding center) spontaneously shattered tonight. It’s in the upper 30s and nothing hit it. I had just started the vehicle and began to move when two of my daughters and I heard a loud sound. My daughter said the window shattered. It’s still altogether but is spidered all over. There’s no evidence of anything hitting the window inside or out. Weirdest thing. I looked online and it seems this has happened to a lot of ford truck owners. The speculation is the rear defrost over heating. But I think since I saw so many online that had the same thing happen to them, I wanted to file a complaint. Ford should be replacing these windows. Obviously it’s a manufacture defect. Thanks.
In December 2023 my review camera stopped working and I cannot see if there is a small child or animal behind while backing up this is the message displayed message: Please check surroundings for safety.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle intermittently experienced a loss of power steering assist. An unknown warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where an unknown sensor was replaced. The failure recurred several months later while driving, and the "Service Advancetrac" message was displayed. The contact was able to drive to the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V316000 (Steering); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 86,406.
Transmission downshifts into low gear while traveling 65 mph causing driver passenger to lurch forward. Does this also at slower speeds.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at 10–15 MPH, the speedometer decreased to zero. The vehicle began to jerk, lost motive power, and stalled. While driving at high speed the vehicle downshifted to first gear. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to his son, who is an independent mechanic, who informed him about a recall on the transmission. The mechanic used the scan tool, which displayed the wrench symbol. The contact called the local dealer and was informed that the vehicle was from Canada and was not covered under a recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact called another local dealer, Wolf Ford of Alliance, at 403 W 3rd St., Alliance, NE 69301, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 84,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, there was an abnormal grinding sound coming from the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and was diagnosed with a defective cam phaser. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at 45 MPH on a two-lane highway, the vehicle seized on low gear and the rear of the vehicle seized. The ABS did not engage to bring the vehicle to a stop, the rear remained seized causing the contact to rear-end the vehicle in front. No air bags deployed. A police report was filed. The contact sustained a fractured finger, head, and back injuries that required medical attention via the hospital. Due to cost, the contact could not continue his medical treatment. The other vehicle was able to be driven from the scene and the occupant sustained unknown injuries that required medical attention but no further information was available. The vehicle was driven home after the crash. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the frame was repaired and replaced the damaged front end parts. The vehicle was repaired. The contact mentioned that the transmission was previously rebuilt approximately 3-4 years ago with AAMCO due to an undetermined failure with an unexpected downshift into first gear. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was serviced for NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train). The contact was concerned that the failure would recur. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and was referred to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was 150,000.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.
Our 2014 Ford F150 is doing the same back-up camera distortions as the current recall and the Ford dealer says it's our problem. The back-up camera on lots of other Ford models need to be recalled.
Traveling on highway at 60 mph in 6th gear. Car downshifted to 1st gear on its own causing rear wheels to lock and making me lose control. I was able to safely pull over without getting hit. This is the same issue in the recall for 2011-2013 Ford F150’s. The same thing is happening in 2014’s.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission failed to shift gear as intended. The contact stated that the vehicle independently shifted from 6th gear to 2nd gear and the vehicle ended up sideways in the middle of the roadway. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed with a failed output shaft speed sensor. The contact was informed that the output shaft speed sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 148,000.
Back up camera works intermittently. Has not been inspected, or involved in a accident.
My truck has been exceptional other than normal repairs. But for approx a year, my power steering capability continued to fail - reverting to manual steering. I was unable to secure an appt with my dealer immediately - leadtimes were 4weeks, so I went to Midas where I knew a couple techs. They advised that my serpentine belt was failing and affecting the electronic controls - which includes my steering column and it needed replacement. I note that I was having battery charge issues too and those have gone away. The fix seemed to work. I paid over 800.00 this past April 2024and all was good. The problem began to manifest again, off and on since Late July and I brought the truck back to Midas. They advised that ford has announced a recall #14509 for this condition. I contacted Davidson Ford, Clay NY, my dealer, advised of the issue and had my truck inspected on 9/24/24. Their inspection confirms the defect but they advise that my truck is NOT covered by the recall. This is ludicrous. This completely unfair and the dealership will not assist nor will ford. They of course blamed you which is laughable. I feel my family is at risk, I cannot in good consciousness sell this vehicle and my trade value is destroyed. I am in a financial bind, retired and can’t afford this.
On three occasions over the past two weeks, my truck downshifted abruptly and without warning while traveling at approximately 65 miles per hour. The first time it occurred, it must have shifted into first gear because my body and head were stopped from hitting the steering wheel thanks to the seatbelt. On the second and third time the downshifts were hard, but I suspect they were into second or third gear. On all three occasions the speedometer went to 0 mph then bounced up. The tachometer raced to 5,000 to 6,000 rpm (possibly higher). There was a fourth occurrence that wasn't as bad. I was traveling approximately 60 mph when the transmission shifted down to maybe third or fourth gear, then it shifted up, then back down several times. During this fourth time the speedometer dropped to zero and the tachometer was up and down. A wrench symbol popped up on my information center between the tachometer and the speedometer. The transmission temperature gauge went to the lowest reading. In each of these four cases, I turned my hazard lights on, immediately shifted the transmission into neutral, and coasted to the side of the road. I turned off my truck. Then, I cranked it, and it ran fine afterwards - until the next occurrence a week later, then a few days later, and finally twice in the same day. I have parked the truck since the last occurrence (twice in the same day). Thankfully there were no vehicles immediately behind me in any of these four events. If there had been, it would have resulted in wrecks. There would have been no brake lights to warn drivers behind me. My truck went from approximately 60+ mph down to low gearing without warning. I have not taken my truck to a service center, and I am debating what to do. There are recalls for this exact condition in the same model truck up to 2013. My truck was built in the Dearborn, MI, plant that produced the same problem trucks that were recalled just one year earlier.
[XXX] was driving the 2014 F150 on a multi lane state road in the afternoon on a sunny and dry afternoon. The vehicle was traveling straight with steady traffic at an intense rate of speed (approximately 45-50 mph) when it all of a changed gears and became difficult for the [XXX] to control, causing the vehicle to hit a guard rail. There was no contributing factors to the accident other than the vehicle's malfunction (i.e. no negative weather, road signals, other vehicles, animal or plant obstructions, intersections, driver error, etc.). At the time of the impact, all of the vehicle's airbags deployed and the driver's seatbelt locked in place. There were no personal injuries - only property damage to the outside of the vehicle, the airbags and seatbelt. Thus far, Ford has refused to replace the airbags, seatbelt/repair the vehicle's property damage despite repeated requests. Ford only fixed the software problem associate with the recall and has taken the position that is the only remedy they are required to do. ( I will locate the police report and provide subsequently if needed) INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
My vehicle shows a wrench on the dashboard and loses power and will not accelerate. We took it to an auto parts store to have a diagnostic test performed and it shows that the OSS ( Output Shaft Speed Sensor Circuit) fault. In my 2014, this is inside the transmission. After doing research, I found this was recalled in 2009 to 2013 models. Could this be an issue in my 2014?
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted, causing the vehicle to abruptly stop in the middle of the road. After the failure, the transmission failed to shift back into gear, causing the vehicle to become undrivable. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the transmission was severely damaged during the failure and needed to be replaced. The transmission was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was 120,000.
My truck is randomly down shifting on its own at highway speeds sometimes even shifting to reverse and causing the speedometer to not work the truck has around 78000 miles on it and I see there were a lot of trucks recalled for this dangerous problem. When I contacted ford they say mine was not recalled even though it is doing the same thing the other vehicles with the 6r80 transmission is doing.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked in a parking lot, the engine cranked; however, the vehicle failed to start. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the failure was due to the fuel pump relay. The vehicle had been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and determined that the VIN was not under recall. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 157,350
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH and depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal went to the floorboard. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact examined the vehicle and notice that brake fluid had leaked out from the brake master cylinder. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 100,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that after restarting the vehicle, the message "Service Power Steering" was displayed, and the steering wheel became difficult to turn in either direction. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the electric power steering (EPS) assist unit was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V316000 (Steering). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 307,000.
My truck stalled and died while entering an intersection. I was nearly broadsided by another vehicle. We both could have been KILLED. This is completely UNACCEPTABLE. Ford is well aware issue and has issued a TSB about it to their dealers. It is called a FUSE 27 in the Ford f150’s and it causes IMMEDIATE LOSS of power and potentially control. The power steering and brakes are effected. Someone is or more likely has been killed because of this. Please do your job. Events like this that are KNOWN by the manufacture should be IMMEDIATELY addressed.
Spontaneous downshifting of transmission to first gear has occurred more than once resulting in sudden change in speed, tires screeching, and unsafe driving or difficulty controlling automobile. Fortunately no one was behind me as I would likely have been rear ended. Each time this has happened the motor has been subjected to heavy strain.
When driving on the interstate the truck suddenly downshifted causing the tires to lock up and the vehicle to swerve out of control. There is already a recall for this issue for Lead Frame in 2011-2013 vehicles. The recall needs to be extended to the 2014 model vehicles as well.
Transmission cooler line failed while driving at highway speeds. This resulted in a complete loss of transmission fluid resulting in loss of power and drivability on the highway. Also resulted in trailing cars being covered in transmission fluid, obscuring vision. Vehicle engine and exhaust were covered in transmission fluid and smoking heavily indicating potential for fire. Vehicle was driving perfectly until the cooler line failed at a line juncture. Check four-wheel-drive warning light came on a few minutes before total loss of power occurred. Vehicle was inspected by a dealer who stated that the transmission was ruined due to the loss of fluid.
Rear view camera inverts the image on screen when the camera is on. No warnings.
OBDII code C116A, with ABS dash light on. ABS HCU needs replacing at 53000 miles. Many failures of this unit reported. Part costs $2900. Entire job quoted at $3900.
While driving 50mph the transmission downshifted to 2 gear and the rear end locked up and I slid. I was able to shift to neutral and gain control. This has happened twice at that speed and you can feel a jolt like it’s happening at lower speeds. I believe this is an electrical issue in the transmission as the gear indicator on the dash will flicker between “D” and “2”. I have a video of this that can be shared. I have not called Ford yet but there does appear to be a recall on the 2013 F150 models where there is an issue with the lead frame which sounds very similar to what I’m experiencing. My 2014 has the same transmission 6R80 that’s used in that truck as well. There was no warning when this happens.
