Crank but no start. Found fuse 27 melted. This fuse supplies power to the fuel pump relay which gives the fuel pump power to run. The melted fuse had lost its connectivity. The fuse is a 20 amp. The fuse was not blown. Unable to determine the cause of the heat to melt the fuse. I searched YouTube and found that this is a common problem with the f150 with the range of 2010 to 2014. Also found that several parts dealers offer a F27 fuse relocation kit as a work around for the problem. The incident happened at home where I was able to research the problem. What if I got stranded in the middle of nowhere, no cell service, and 25 below zero? Worse yet, could this hot spot start a fire under the hood? Why there has not been a recall on this fuse is beyond reasoning tthat the repair is more costly than a life!
First occurrence with my F-150 STX driving home from work. Started my truck and got a block and a half away and the truck stopped accelerating and completely shut off. All the lights and engine was off. I drifted to the side of the road to avoid traffic causing a traffic pile up and confusion. Being overwhelmed I waited for about 20 minutes then started it and drove home. No lights or check engine lamps on. Having a couple days of normal driving and normal function. I drove again but this time I was going into the freeway halfway up the onramp the truck dies again! This time making it completely unsafe and potentially fatal. I drifted as far as I could to the side as I was going up hill onto the freeway. More cars and extremely different speeds made this moment very concerning . Upon delivery to the dealership and having them offer expensive fuel pump replacements and flushes. I could only afford the $600 fuel pump wake up and having no information about any defects or recalls. I feel like a guinea pig to ideas of half ass fixes.
WHILE TRAVELING ON I 75 TO FLORIDA ENGINE CK LIGHT ACTIVATED. WAS A CAUTIONARY LIGHT. UPON GETTING TO FL TOOK MY TRUCK TO A FORD DEALER WHO FOUND THAT BOTH FUEL PUMPS HAD FAILED. I NOW SEE FORD IS RECALLING F-150 TRUCKS DUE TO FAULTY FUEL PUMPS. I BELIEVE ALL F-150 TRUCKS SHOULD BE UNDER THE RECALL. DRIVING AT 70 MPH AND HAVING THE ENGINE UNABLE TO MAINTAIN HIGHWAY SPEED IS DANGEROUS AND VERY NERVE WRACKING.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while operating the vehicle with the fuel tank half full, the vehicle stalled while idling. Additionally, the vehicle failed to restart with only a quarter tank of fuel in the fuel tank. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who replaced the fuel pump, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not covered under the Manufacturer’s extended coverage regarding the failure. The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 220,000.
Throttle Body has failed 3 times. I am on my 4th one. 1st at 28k, 2nd 59k, 3rd 100k. Engine completely shuts down at high speed. Extremely dangerous, especially when towing. No warning given. Just stops running . Wrench icon appears on dash. Then engine shuts down immediately.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to veer to the shoulder. Following the failure, the Low Oil Pressure, check engine warning, and maintenance required warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the fuse box needed to be relocated due to overheating and causing a short in the fuel pump injector. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to reach out to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 51,000.
Two issues. The first issue arose due to a leak in the "y" pipe under the air box. Upon replacing that connector, the throttle body had to be removed to get room to reinstall. Upon reinstallation of the throttle body, the truck falls into limp mode unexpectedly during normal driving, in traffic. Installed ned throttle body from parts store and still throws the p2112 code.
Critical failure of the 6R80 transmission oil cooler lines causing rapid loss of control of speed and drivability.
This has happened twice now. Driving to work accelerating after a red light and the truck losses all power, but stays running. To get it to operate normal you have to pull over shift into park, turn the truck off and wait a couple of moments. The truck will retire and drive like nothing happened. Trick has 78k miles and always maintained at local ford dealer
When driving, twice power has cut out with the vehicle without warning. I was also unable to start the vehicle on one occasion - it cranked but did not fire. Traced the problem to a melted #27 fuse in the engine bay, which is a known issue with these vehicles apparently.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the powertrain malfunction warning light was illuminated, then the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed with throttle body failure. The dealer replaced the throttle body. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that the VIN was not included in any recalls and referred the contact to file a complaint with NHTSA. The failure mileage was 62,790.
Driving at a 25 mph got an engine warning light and engine shut down - extremely dangerous condition - error message on dash showed wrenches - error message when further investigated showed P2112 AND P2112PE. Engine shut down again - after restarting and driving for approximately 15 minutes at 50 miles per hour. Pulled to side of road restarted NO ERROR codes this time! YIKES. This relates to the Throttle Body. Looked online and found this happens A LOT to FORD trucks, and somehow my F150 2014 is not in the recall. I purchased part from dealer and FORD said they would not refund any money as this VIN number does not have any recalls. Can you explain why this defective Throttle Body in my vehicle has not been recalled? P.S. I have attached a picture of oil that has leaked into the defective Throttle Body causing malfunction.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle suddenly entered LIMP Mode and began to decelerate, lost motive power, and stalled. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer who eventually replaced the throttle body, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that recently the failure had reoccurred, the throttle body was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.
Truck looses power and throttle response when accelerating into traffic or driving on the highway. My vehicle was nearly hit from behind when faster moving vehicles came upon it. And almost caused a head on collision do to vehicles driving around me. This has happened several times. Vehicle has a pending code p2112 but if ignition is turned off code does not store in vehicle computer. Took vehicle to Ford dealership but was told nothing could be done to repair the vehicle since the code wasn’t stored in the computer

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP LIGHT, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED, SHUT OFF, AND THE CHECK ENGINE AND OIL INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE RESTARTED AND WAS TOWED TO AUFFENBERG FORD (115 REGENCY PARK, O'FALLON, IL) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP MODULATOR WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. VEHICLE SHUT DOWN AND WENT INTO "LIMP MODE" 1ST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS 10/16/19 WITH 44K MILES. DEALER SCANNED WITH NO CODES RETURNED SO THEY JUST REPROGRAMMED STEERING MODULE AND VEHICLE SEEMED FINE. IT STARTED HAPPENING AGAIN ON 06/25/20 WITH 47.5K MILES WHILE PULLING OUT ONTO MAIN ROAD ALMOST CAUSING ACCIDENT AND SEVERAL TIMES ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH ALMOST CAUSING ACCIDENTS. TOOK TO DEALER AND SCAN RETURNED ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY ERROR, SCAN CODE P2112. THROUGH ADVICE WE CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO ASSIST IN THE REPAIRS EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD KNOWLEDGE AND ADMITTED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. FORD APPLIED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THE SAME PROBLEM TO SEVERAL MODELS UP TO 2013 VEHICLES, OUR IS A 2014. WE DECLINED REPAIRS AT THIS TIME SINCE WE DON'T DRIVE VEHICLE VERY OFTEN. FORD REP SAID TO SAVE OUR INVOICE FOR POSSIBLE REIMBURSEMENT IN THE FUTURE IF A RECALL WAS ISSUED. IF WE ELECTED TO HAVE THE REPAIRS PERFORMED AT A FORD DEALER, FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFERED TO APPLY SOME SORT OF EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR US IN CASE OF FUTURE PROBLEMS. AFTER DRIVING THIS WEEKEND THE PROBLEM HAS NOT ONLY PERSISTED, BUT OCCURRED MORE FREQUENTLY THAN USUAL, MAINLY AT HIGH SPEEDS MAKING THIS SAFETY ISSUE EVEN MORE DANGEROUS. AT THIS POINT, WE HAVE NO OPTION BUT TO RETURN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE WORK DONE. WE STILL FEEL THAT THIS IN NOT A NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ITEM. IT IS IN FACT A SAFETY ITEM THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY.
