TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE AND ABRUPTLY SWITCHED GEARS AS THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REFLASHED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500.
THE AUTO START FEATURE OF THE 2.7L ENGINE CAUSES THE ENGINE TO ALMOST STALL WHEN LEAVING A STOP SIGN OR LIGHT. IF THE AUTO START IS ON AND SHUTS DOWN THE ENGINE AS YOU WANT TO GO, THE ENGINE WILL ALMOST STALL OUT CAUSING YOU TO BE IN THE INTERSECTION WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO ACCELERATE. THIS FEATURE CAN BE TURNED OFF BUT IT MUST BE DONE EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS STARTED. STALLING IN THE INTERSECTION IS A BIG PROBLEM. FORD WILL NOT TURN OFF THIS FEATURE AND I FEEL THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE FORD OFFER THE OPTION TO TURN THIS FEATURE OFF PERMANENTLY.
WHEN YOU TURN ON THE SEAT COOLER, THE BOTTOM WILL COOL WHILE THE BACK WILL GET EXCESSIVELY HOT; IF LEFT ON LONG ENOUGH IT COULD CAUSE BURNS ON SOMEONE, ESPECIALLY THE ELDERLY OR THOSE WITH THIN SKIN. THERE IS CURRENTLY NO RECALL OR INFO FROM FORD ON THE ISSUE.
AFTER MORNING STARTUP, VEHICLE STUMBLED, HESITATED ON ACCELERATION INTO TRAFFIC. VEHICLE STALLED AFTER APPROXIMATELY DRIVING 1 MILE. WOULD RE-START, ONLY IDLE, THEN STALL WHEN PUT INTO DRIVE AND ATTEMPTED TO RE-ENTER TRAFFIC. I HAD TOWED TO CLOSEST FORD DEALERSHIP FOR WARRANTY REPAIRS. MY VEHICLE WAS RETURNED OVER TWO WEEKS LATER. THE SERVICE INVOICE OUTLINED THAT THE LOW PRESSURE FUEL PUMP WAS FOUND BAD, SHORTED AND CONNECTING PLUG TO HARNESS MELTED. THEY REPLACED FUEL PUMP AND REPAIRED HARNESS PLUG. VEHICLE WAS NOT FIXED. OVER THE TWO WEEK PERIOD THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP, THE FUEL PUMP DRIVER, BODY CONTROL MODULE, AND LAST THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. MY MAJOR CONCERN IS THE MELTED FUEL PUMP PLUG. I WOULD THINK THERE WOULD BE ADEQUATE FUSIBLE LINK PROTECTION TO KEEP THIS KIND OF PROBLEM FROM HAPPENING ESPECIALLY WHEN AFFECTING AN IN TANK FUEL PUMP. THIS MIGHT LEAD TO FUEL FIRES AND ALSO ACCIDENTS DUE TO LOSS OF POWER FROM THE ENGINE. I WAS FORTUNATE TO BE ABLE TO SAFELY GET MY VEHICLE ON THE ROAD SHOULDER, AND THEN ONTO A SIDE STREET WITH MINIMAL TRAFFIC. ANOTHER ISSUE IS THAT ONE DEVICE FAILURE CREATING FAILURES IN MULTIPLE VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEMS THAT WOULD COST THE CONSUMER THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OUT OF WARRANTY TO REPAIR. I WAS TOLD THAT A FORD FIELD ENGINEER WAS SENT TO ASSIST THE DEALERSHIP, AFTER HIS VISIT, THE ECM WAS REPLACED WHICH MADE THE VEHICLE FUNCTIONAL AGAIN. ADEQUATE OVERCURRENT PROTECTION ON THE FUEL PUMP SHOULD HAVE PREVENTED DAMAGING THE OTHER CRITICAL PARTS. FORD HAS PUT A LOT OF THESE VEHICLES ON THE ROAD WITH THE FUEL EFFICIENCY NEW ENGINEERING AS A MAJOR MARKETING TOOL. I FEAR THE VEHICLE MAY HAVE BEEN RUSHED TO PRODUCTION WITH INHERENT FLAWS THAT COULD BE A DANGER TO OWNERS AND THE PUBLIC.
MY 2015 LARIAT HAS HEATED/COOLED LEATHER FRONT SEATS. WHEN USING THE SEAT COOLING FUNCTION I NOTICED THE SEAT BOTTOM WOULD COOL BUT THE SEAT BACK SEEMED TO GET WARM. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS MY IMAGINATION. ATTEMPTED TO USE IT ON FRIDAY AND ABOUT 30 MINUTES LATER MY BACK WAS HOT. I PULLED OVER, FELT THE SEAT BACK WITH MY PALM, THEN MY CHEEK AND IT WAS HOT TO THE TOUCH.
THE COOLED SEAT FUNCTION ON THE 2015 IS A VERY POOR DESIGN AND IT CAUSES EXTREME HEAT TO THE BACK OF THE SEAT WHILE THE BOTTOM OF THE SEAT SOMEWHAT COOLS. I FEEL THIS IS A FIRE DANGER TO ANYTHING IN THE SEAT BACK POCKET.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND REPAIRED, BUT THE DETAILS OF THE REPAIRS WERE UNKNOWN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE TRUCK HAS MALFUNCTIONING CLIMATE CONTROLLED-MASSAGING SEATS. THE CLIMATE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK ON THE SEATS AT ALL. MY DEALERSHIP LOOKED IT OVER TODAY AND CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS NOT WORKING BUT THEN AFTER TWO SERVICE REPS COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM THEY DECIDED THAT SINCE THE TRUCK HAS THE MASSAGING FEATURE THAT THE CLIMATE CONTROL MUST BE DISABLED AND WILL NOT WORK! I ACCEPTED THIS ANSWER FOR A WHILE AND THEN DECIDED THAT THIS IS SURELY NOT THE CASE OR WHY ELSE WOULD THE SALES SHEETS SAY "CLIMATE CONTROLLED MASSAGING SEATS"; NOT "CLIMATE CONTROLLED OR MASSAGING SEATS"? WELL I CALLED THE FORD SUPPORT PHONE NUMBER AND AFTER MUCH DELIBERATION THE REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME THAT I SHOULD GO TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP! I HAVE SINCE LEARNED THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE TO SOME DEGREE ON MANY YEAR/MODEL OF FORD TRUCKS. CONSIDERING THAT I JUST TRADED A 2014 FORD RAPTOR FOR THIS TRUCK AND THE CLIMATE CONTROLLED SEATS WORKED (ALTHOUGH NOT CONSIDERABLY WELL) ON IT, I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED. THE DEALERSHIP THAT I PURCHASED THE TRUCK FROM DID NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THIS AS BEING A PROBLEM BUT JUST A SIMPLE INTERNET SEARCH YIELDS THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS! THE PROBLEM IS SO SEVERE THAT WHEN SEAT COOLING IS SELECTED, AFTER 10 MINUTES, THE FRONT SEATS REACH EVEN HOTTER TEMPERATURES RATHER THAN COOLER. FORD SEEMS TO BE UNWILLING TO TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM BUT CONTINUES TO ADVERTISE THE FEATURE AND SELLING THEIR TRUCKS AS IF NOTHING IS WRONG! SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS ISSUE.
WHEN THE AC CONTROL FOR THE FRONT SEATS IS IN USE THE BACK OF THE SEATS CAN REACH TEMPERATURES OF 110 DEGREES WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IN THE CAB IS 73 DEGREES. THIS TEMPERATURE COULD BURN MY CHILDREN WHO RIDE IN THE BACK SEATS OR EVEN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SEAT OR RISK OF FIRE. I HAVE SEEN MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS OF THIS ON THE WEB AND FROM OTHER OWNERS OF 2015 FORD F150 WITH THIS OPTION.

WHEN SEAT COOLING IS SELECTED, AFTER 15-30 MINUTES, THE BACK OF THE FRONT SEATS REACHES EXTREME TEMPERATURES, RESULTING IN EXTREME DISCOMFORT AND POTENTIAL BURNING OF ANYONE THAT TOUCHES THE FRONT OR BACK OF THE FRONT SEAT BACKS. MEMBERS OF THE FORD F-150 FORUM HAVE MEASURED AND DOCUMENTED THE TEMPERATURE READINGS, AT THE TOP OF THE MAP POCKET, AT OVER 115 DEGREES, WHEN AMBIENT TEMPERATURES WERE AT 75 DEGREES. THESE ARE LEVELS OF HEAT THAT CERTAINLY CAN INJURE A CHILD, OR EVEN AN ADULT AND, IF A CHILD IS LEFT IN A LOCKED CAR WITH THE "COOLING SEATS" ENGAGED, IT CAN MORE RAPIDLY ESCALATE THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURES TO A DANGEROUS AND PERHAPS FATAL LEVEL INSIDE THE VEHICLE. ALL ATTEMPTS TO BRING THIS TO FORD REGIONAL AND NATIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENTS HAVE BEEN MET WITH TOTAL DISREGARD AND, IN SOME CASES REFUSAL TO ADMIT THAT A PROBLEM EVEN EXISTS. ASIDE FROM THE FACT THAT OWNERS PAID $60K FOR THESE VEHICLES, FORD'S CALLOUS DISREGARD OF OWNERS ATTEMPTS TO BRING THIS TO THEIR ATTENTION ARE IN STARK CONTRAST WITH FORD'S STATED COMMITMENT TO QUALITY AND SERVICE. WHEN PASSING A LARGE TRUCK ON A 4 LANE ROAD, ADAPTIVE CRUSE DETECTED A COLLISION AND APPLIED FULL BRAKING. THIS OCCURRED AS I WAS IN THE TRUCKS FULL SHADOW. AGAIN LAST WEEK WHILE ON THE EXPRESSWAY AND PASSING A SEMI, MY VEHICLE DETECTED A COLLISION AND APPLIED FULL BRAKING, AGAIN WHILE IN THE SEMI'S SHADOW.
AS I PULLED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND CAME TO FIRST STOP THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. TOOK IT TO DEALER AND THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS BAD.
ADAPTIVE CUISSE CONTROL FALSELY DETECTS POTENTIAL COLLISION WHEN PASSING SEMITRUCK (18-WHEELER) ON INTERSTATE/FREEWAY HIGHWAYS AS SPEED OF 70MHP. THE BRAKES ARE AUTOMATICALLY APPLIED AND COLLISION WARNING MESSAGE GOES OFF IN THE DASHBOARD CENTER SCREEN. THIS HAPPENS VERY FREQUENTLY WHEN PASSING SEMITRUCK, TO THE POINT THAT I EITHER DISABLE THE CRUISE OR GET READY TO PUNCH THE ACCELERATOR IN ORDER TO PREVENT A REAR-END ACCIDENT IN CASE SOMEONE BEHIND ME.

CAR BEHIND ME ALMOST REAR ENDED ME. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY LIKE 6 TIMES IN 3 MONTHS AND ONLY HAPPENS WHEN PASSING A LARGE SEMI AND THE SEMI IS TO MY RIGHT. ONLY HAPPENS IN DAY TIME AND EVEN THEN, ONLY SOMETIMES HAPPENS.

WHEN REACHING BEHIND THE SEAT AND PLACING A HAND ON THE BACK OF THE SEAT BACK THERE IS A VERY HOT SECTION WHERE THE THERMAL ELECTRONIC DEVICE IS LOCATED. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD FOR ANYONE REACHING INTO THE MAP POCKET OR ANY ADULT OR CHILD WHO TOUCHES THE BACK OF THE SEAT. SAW RECENT NEWS ARTICLE ABOUT F150 BRAKES..I PURCHASED MY 2015 F150 LAST MARCH 2015. WITH ONLY 980 MILES (YES 980) ON IT MY BRAKES BEGAN TO FADE OUT. ULTIMATELY THEY STOPPED WORKING AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT COME TO A STOP AS THE BRAKES CONTINUALLY FADED OUT. BROUGHT IT BACK TO FORD WHO RAN SEVERAL TESTS AND COULD NOT FIND OUT WHY THIS HAPPENED. THEY CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM BUT DID NOT KNOW WHY.THEY TOLD ME SAME. THE WESTERN U.S. FORD REPRESENTATIVE EVEN CALLED ME TO APOLOGIZE. FRONT SEAT BACK COOLING SYSTEM (TED) IS MALFUNCTIONING. WHEN SEAT COOLING IS SELECTED, AFTER ABOUT 30 MINUTES, THE BACK OF THE FRONT SEATS REACH EXTREME TEMPERATURES, RESULTING IN BURNING EVERYONE THAT TOUCHES THE BACK OF THE FRONT SEATS. I'VE MEASURE THE TEMPERATURES, AT THE TOP OF THE MAP POCKET, AT OVER 115 DEGREES, WHEN AMBIENT TEMPERATURES WERE AT 75 DEGREES. WHEN AMBIENT TEMPERATURES RISE ABOVE 90 DEGREES, THE FRONT SEAT BACK TEMPERATURE CAN REACH UP TO 150 DEGREES OR MORE!
