Brakes became completely unoperational and brake lights on dashboard lit up at same time. Luckily it happened coming out of my garage and not while on road or highway.
Without any warning signals or indications the fan blower has stopped working. It became a real safety hazard when I needed to defog my windshield and there was no air flow coming out of my vents. No warning, no signal. My windshield had fogged over and I had zero ability to defog due to not having any available airflow. Major safety issue!!
LED headlamps become too dim to drive at night. 1. Dealerships may recommend headlamp unit replacement (around $3000USD). 2. However, uniform dimness in both lamps indicates an upstream electrical issue. 3. Recent service inspection (Invoice #[XXX] at AutoNation Ford in Bellevue, WA) indicated that all existing diagnostic procedures to inspect voltage and battery health came up negative, but they have no process to diagnose the control unit or measure the candle output of the headlamp projectors. 4. Case #[XXX] has been opened up with Ford to ask engineering to develop a procedure to diagnose, repair, and potentially issue a recall with the part. Rear sliding glass window track falling down. It happened approximately 2 months after I bought the truck. I believe it is just designed badly for a sliding window track.
TRUCK WILL DOWN SHIFT AUTOMATICALLY TO 1ST GEAR AT TIMES EXSPECIALLY WHEN PULLING A TRAILER OF ANY KIND WHEN SLOWING DOWN, (EXAMPLE) GETTING OFF A HIGHWAY RAMP SLOWING DOWN TO THE INTERSECTION. I JUST READ THEY ARE RECALLING 2014 WITH THAT ISSUE, 2015 ALSO HAS THE SAME ISSUE, ATLEAST MINE DOES. HAS PROBABLY DONE IT 6 TIMES, ALL WITH A TRAILER ON THE TRUCK.

The transmission will downshift from 6th to 5th at hwy speed....it also at other times , will only go from 1st to 2nd gear and no farther...wrench light comes on each time.I have to pull off hwy and slowly try to take off to get transmission to shift correctly. A lot of times pulling to side of road puts me in a dangerous situation. When it won't shift past 2nd gear I have to try to pull over immediately as it over-revs.I am taking it to an independent service center and dropping it off for their confirmation as sometimes tranny will shift fine for 2-3 days and then go back to malfunctioning. It started this about a year ago, but I had neck surgery then and am now just getting back to driving. The wrench light comes on each time , along with the transmission fan.The truck is available for inspection any time.
My 2015 Ford F-150 truck has had multiple issues related to performance issues, with only 80,000 miles on it. I have had issues with it losing power while driving, both with and without towing a trailer where it just powers down on the highway from 70-75 mph down to 40-50 mph in traffic. I usually just have to pull over, turn the engine off and then turn it back on and everything runs normal. It is currently at Phil Long Ford in Colorado Springs, CO, having the short block and driver side cylinder head replaced at 80,000 miles because it was smoking out the exhaust and they determined that it had coolant leaking into the #4 and #5 cylinders. This is after it had a completely new engine installed at 75,000 miles due to coolant leaking into the 3# cylinder and causing severe damage to the engine. It was in the repair shop from August 2023 until late December 2023 because the engines were are backorder. The Passenger side cylinder heads are currently on a 13 month backorder according to the dealership, which is why they are only replacing the short block and Driver side cylinder head this time, after only 5,000 miles on the replacement engine. I have also received multiple recall notifications regarding this vehicle, the most recent of which was on 4/22/2024 for #24E03 POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE UPDATE, none of which have been repaired during the multiple times and extended durations that my vehicle was at the Ford dealership for repairs. Two recalls existed and should have been repaired when my vehicle was at the dealership between August and December of 2023, and the most recent recall shows "No Remedy Available" for a PCM Module Software Update?
When I was driving a light came on that said low oil pressure. I checked the oil, and it was full. Driving to get it checked out the engine stopped. I had it towed to the FORD dealership. The engine failed at 81,000 on my 2015 FORD F-150. I was charged $220 for the FORD technicians to say "they do not know why the engine failed but for $16,000 they will put a new engine in." I asked for details as there is low miles on the engine. The technician said "they would be happy to tear apart the engine, for a fee, to find out." I asked about a warranty they said the motor is good for 60,000 miles after which point it is not covered. I found, on the internet, that the 2015 2.7 EcoBoost engine has problems with oil leaks and that the piston melt, fuse together and the engine stops. I also found there is a federal investigation into the 2.7 EcoBoost engine. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact heard a snap and cracking sound coming from the front driver’s side wheel. The contact drove the vehicle to the shoulder of the roadway and parked. The contact exited the vehicle and performed an inspection. The contact noticed that the front wheel had detached, and the ball joints were fractured. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a fractured axle. The contact was informed that the axle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact was informed of the recall NHTSA Campaign Number: 21E027000 (Suspension) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline and report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 152,000.
As I was driving my 2015 Ford F150 ( 53453 miles)today the electronic power steering quit working and locked the steering wheel as I was rounding a long left turn. As I was coming out of the corner the steering wheel locked and continued to turn left causing me to cross the center line and enter into oncoming traffic.Luckily for me and everyone else the driver of the oncoming car saw me coming over and responded accordingly. I had to force the steering wheel to the right to get the vehicle to respond. Once I had the truck back in my lane the steering started binding and three different faults appeared on the dash. 1. Electronic Power Assist 2. Advance Trac 3. Hill Start Assist. The locking (binding) steering wheel continued for the next 8 miles until I was able to get it safely off the highway. After shutting the vehicle off and restarting it the faults were no longer showing and the steering started working properly. After researching this online it appears to be a very very serious issue with these trucks. I also see that this issue has been reported to the NHTSB by other people with the same vehicle. If not for the alert driver in the oncoming lane there would have been a serious head on collision with sever injuries. I have no choice but to drive this vehicle not knowing if or when this will occur again. This is an issue that more than likely will result in fatalities. I am hoping this will be investigated with top priority.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact drove the vehicle to a local dealer for brake service and the dealer informed the contact that all 4 lug nuts were swollen and needed to be replaced. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the lug nuts and brake pads needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 104,000.
This engine defect is well known to Ford ; it involves the 2015-2017 2.7 liter ecobost . These engines were produced with a faulty oil pan gasket . I just paid to replace the third oil pan . Taken in totality these leaking oil pans are a safety issue since oil is deposited on our roads leading to slick conditions and deteriorating road surfaces . Ford's most recent TSB related to this defect is TSB 24-2098 , which superceds TSB23-2330 . This defect effects thousands of Ford's 2.7 liter ecoboost engines .Please examine this safety issue . Thank you
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the front driver’s side interior door lock switch had intermittently malfunctioned, and the driver was unable to lock the doors while inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who replaced the front driver’s door locking actuator and the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. Additionally, while driving at various speeds the transmission erroneously downshifted causing the vehicle to decelerate abruptly. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 140,000.
lead frame needs replacing. Same issues as the TSB 16-008 and the 16N02 Dealer Bulletin for 2011-2013 models. This should be extended to later models. Diagnostic code PO720
The exhaust manifolds have warped, breaking a nut and stud and causing an exhaust leak. I am finding this is an extremely common failure indicative of a design flaw. Ford will not cover this under any extended coverage, nor offer financial assistance to repair this failure.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted from 5th gear to 2nd gear, causing the vehicle to abruptly decelerate. During the failure, the driver almost lost control of the steering wheel and the rear wheels locked up and the vehicle skidded. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the failure recurred, and the wrench icon was displayed. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was made aware of NHTSA Action Number: PE25002 (POWER TRAIN). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the NHTSA Action Number. The failure mileage was 202,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH and entering an intersection, the brake pedal was depressed, and the pedal extended to the floorboard. Due to the brake failure, the vehicle failed to stop and drove through a red light into the intersection. The vehicle eventually rolled to a stop. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that the brake fluid reservoir cap had come off and brake fluid had leaked from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V332000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 130,000.
Driving on the highway, the vehicle suddenly shifted from 6th gear (top gear) down to first gear. The tires locked up and the car decelerated rapidly. I shifted the car into neutral and coasted to a stop at the side of the highway. While slowing down the wrench icon came on. After 5 minutes, the wrench icon went away. I talked to the ford dealership and they stated they could not diagnose the issue unless the wrench icon was on at the time of inspection. The wrench icon does not give a code. The vehicle has shifted on its own multiple times and has caused some close calls. Ford wont address the issue because the warning light is only on for a few minutes at a time and the issue is sporadic.
LR wheel fell off on Hwy 40. Shop that towed us in and fixed the problem said probably caused by swollen lugs nuts and subsequent torquing issue.
Exhaust manifolds bolts breaking
6r80 transmission eractic shifts, will not change gears. Skips gears. Code po0715 , Concerned for safety. Shouldn't have these problems at 66000 miles
Replaced lug nuts that had swollen and was not removable with standard socket at repair shop to repair flat tire. Chrome lugs with dissimilar metals caused the swelling. Unable to change tires to deal with roadside emergencies.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the rear sliding window latch mechanism had separated and fallen into the interior of the vehicle several times. The dealer was notified of the failure and charged a fee for the repair. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
The contact's father owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while his father was driving approximately 40 MPH, the vehicle downshifted inadvertently. The vehicle was steered into a parking lot where the driver observed that the engine was revving without depressing the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was turned off and was not able to be restarted. The vehicle was towed to the residence where a handheld diagnostic machine retrieved DTC code: P0707. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the leadframe needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000.
I was driving a couple of days ago and all of a sudden I got this wrench icon on my dashboard and my 2015 Ford F150 went to limp mode from 70 mph to 35 mph for no apparent reason. I've noticed the PRNDM21 is grayed out. Luckily after about 10 seconds, it went back to normal. Today Feb 23, 2024, I went to pick up my girls from school and this wrench icon shows up again, this time it felt like my truck was not responding to acceleration, it's like it had a mind of its own. I was pressing the brake but it felt like it was not responding so I almost rear-ended another vehicle. Luckily, there was room on the right lane so I swerved immediately not even thinking if there was any car so fortunately, after about a minute, the car went back to normal. I was so scared driving the truck after I picked up my girls to school, I was hoping it wouldn't happen again as there were a lot of kids crossing the school. When I got home, I used my code reader and it came up with P0707 and P0706 (Transmission Sensor a Circuit Range Performance and Transmission Range Sensor A Circuit Low) issues. I contacted a mobile mechanic and scheduled for a repair this Sunday. Hope they can get this fix asap!
Vehicle speedometer working it radically
The contact filed the complaint on behalf of the owner of a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while the owner was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle overheated. The owner refilled the coolant, and the vehicle was driven back to the work location. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed with fractured exhaust manifold studs. The failure caused damage to the turbo, the oil and coolant lines. The contact was informed that the exhaust manifold bolts, turbo, and oil and coolant lines needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 127,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at approximately 25 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that oil was leaking from the turbocharger. The contact was advised to take the vehicle to a local dealer for repair. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the cylinder head, exhaust manifolds, and vacuum pump gasket needed to be replaced. The local dealer informed the contact that the turbocharger would eventually need to be replaced also. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.
The oil gaskets on the valve covers and oil pan are defective and leak. This causes oil to be leaked on the engine and can catch fire. Ford has stopped making the defective parts and now charging customers for the repair. If the repairs are not made, the engine fire is a probability.
Could not remove the lug nuts. They did not fit in the lug wrench. They had to be hammered off.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 70-75 MPH, the transmission abruptly downshifted from 7th gear to 4th or 3rd gear. The transmission also downshifted from 4th gear to 1st gear. The failure occurred several times while driving until the contact shifted the transmission in neutral. The failure was intermittent. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 174,000.
my truck now has 40,000 miles on it. For the past week the speedometer screen get covered by the message window. YOUR AUTOMATIC PARKING BRAKES HAVE A MALFUNCTION, GET IT SERVICED IMMEDIATELY. I can't really tell if the parking brake is dragging. My gas mileage has dropped about 1 mpg and it has feeling of slight chattering when starting out. I I keep deleting the message but it randomly comes up again. I live about 1 mile from Westway Ford in Irving, TX. I called for a service call appt. Over the phone they said they would come to get it at 10:30 a.m. I offered to drive it over to their service department but they said they would come and get it. They also said there would be a $395 charge whether the look at the problem or not. Why didn't they want me to drive it to their service departmenT?
The door latches freeze during cold weather and prevent me from closing and latching the doors. Ford has previously attempted repairs to my vehicle under Customer Satisfaction Program 20M04, but the repairs have not worked. To further exacerbate the problem, Ford has told me they won't do any further repairs unless they can replicate the problem, but I live in the mid-Atlantic and the weather is not cold enough to reliably replicate the problem.
The truck only goes through 1 through 3 and then when it shifts into 4 it doesn’t go anywhere and it throws a bunch of service codes that just go away when you turn the truck off it has dropped from 6th gear to 3rd and locked the tires up and spun me out almost causing me to wreck the truck
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that oil was leaking from the vehicle near the oil pan. After inspecting the vehicle, the contact became aware that oil was leaking out of the oil pan, onto parts that were extremely hot causing a burning odor. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the oil pan was leaking, and the oil pan was warped. The contact learned about the failure related to Service Bulletin: 232083, NHTSA ID Number: 10233594 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 140,000.
There is an investigation currently, but it is when the transmission is going from higher gear and shifting to lower gears/locking the rear wheels unexpectedly. It actually shut my truck off when it happened and I had codes PO706, and PO707 displaying that I had an issues with my transmission range sensor. At the time my truck only had 108,000 miles. I had to replace the entire lead frame in order to get the issue fixed, and was informed by Ford when I asked them about it that no recalls or issues had been reported.
The vehicle has been sent in for a loud passenger side noise while motor is started and driving. The smell of burnt oil was also an issue coming from the passenger side. Took it in and the mechanic noticed my valve cover (passenger side) is cracked. Cannot order new ones as they are on back order. The driver side has limited quantities with a wait time, and the passenger side valve covers have 0 in stock online and at the dealerships. The smell and smoke is getting progressively worse as there is no option to replace valve covers.
The contact's husband owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle independently downshifted and the RPM surged to 6,000 RPM. The failure persisted while depressing the accelerator pedal and the vehicle failed to accelerate and shift out of first gear. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. After restarting the vehicle several times, the contact drove the vehicle to a dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed with a defective powertrain control module (PCM). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact recently discovered that the 2014 model year Ford F-150 was recalled under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train) and the contact linked the failure to the recall. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while the vehicle was at the dealer for a scheduled oil change, the contact was informed that two bolts were fractured on the exhaust manifold. The contact was informed that the exhaust manifold and assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 100,358.
I connected the 7-pin trailer wire of my 16' tandem axle enclosed trailer with electric brakes to my pickup. I checked the lights on the trailer. All functioned correctly. I got into my pickup to drive. The integrated trailer brake controller was smoking and getting hot. No error messages popped up on the dashboard. I pulled the fuse for the trailer brake module to prevent the integrated trailer brake module from melting or catching fire. Upon searching the internet, this appears to be a problem with my model year (2015 F-150). Ford dealership re-programs the trailer brake module. This needs to be addressed before the brake controller fails and could potentially catch fire. It also could cause an accident, because the electric trailer brakes will lock up or cease to engage.
Oil pan leaking due to having a plastic oil pan
