DIVER'S SIDE FRONT TIRE WHEN FLAT. I WAS UNABLE TO REMOVE THE LUG NUT WITH THE SUPPLIED LUG WRENCH. THE 2-PART LUGS HAD SWELLED MAKING THE LUG WRENCH UNUSABLE. WAS ABLE TO REMOVE THE LUGS WITH A PERSONAL TOOL SET IN THE REAR OF THE TRUCK. WENT TO A FORD DEALER AND WAS ADVISED TO CHANGE MY LUG NUTS TO A SOLID AFTERMARKET LUG. DEALER SAID THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT CAN LEAVE PEOPLE STRANDED.
I AM ON THE PARKWAY LOW FLUID BRAKES LIGHT COMES ON, I CLICK OK IT GOES OFF THE BRAKE LIGHT IS ON . 1/4 MILE I GET OFF AT THE NEXT EXIT AND HAVE NO BRAKES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I PUSH THE PARKING/ EMERGENCE BRAKE . I SLOW DOWN TO THE LIGHT. TURN ON THE STREET GO TO 1 MILE AWAY USING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. CHECK FLUID IT IS LOW? PURCHASE FLUID FILL SND PUMP BRAKES GET PEDAL. DRIVE ABOUT 1 MILE BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON NO BRAKES PULL OVER FLUID IS GONE AGAIN NO LEAKS WHEELS ANYWHERE, GOING INTO MOTOR I GUESS AND BURNING OUT THE EXAUST. SMOKING. FOR DEALER HAS HERE IN SAVANNAH. I HAVE READ COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE. NOT MUCH WARNING 20 SECONDS TO THE RAMP THEN NO BRAKES? ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
MY TAILGATE OPENS BY ITSELF. DOES NOT MATTER IF I'M DRIVING IN PARK. MULTIPLE TIMES, IT HAS OPENED WHILE DRIVING DONE THE ROAD OR ON THE HIGHWAY. IT FIRST STARTED WHILE JUST SITTING IN THE GARAGE OR DRIVEWAY. I WOULD COME OUT AND FIND IT DOWN. ITS NOT A KEY FOB ISSUE AS I BELIEVE THE TAILGATE SHOULD NOT GO DOWN REGARDLESS IF YOUR DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS. I TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM.
SUDDEN WARNING INDICATOR WITH "LOW BRAKE FLUID" FOLLOWED BY LOSS IN BRAKE PRESSURE. USED E-BRAKE TO STOP. NO VISIBLE LEAKS AT MASTER CYLINDER OR ANY OF THE 4 CALIPERS. REFILLED FLUID AND DROVE TO A BRAKE SHOP. DIAGNOSED AS MASTER CYLINDER LEAKING INTO BRAKE PRESSURE BOOSTER. REPLACED MASTER CYLINDER, FLUID BLEED/FLUSH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH THE WARNING MESSAGES AND ALARM ACTIVATED INDICATING A FAILURE IN THE BRAKING SYSTEM. APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES LATER THE BRAKE PEDAL EXTENDED TO THE FLOOR WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE VEHICLE, WHICH CAUSED THE BRAKING DISTANCE TO BE EXTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FIESTA FORD LOCATED AT (78990 VARNER RD, INDIO CA.) WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER LEAKED AND THE BRAKE BOOSTER FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, A MESSAGE REGARDING A BRAKE SYSTEM ERROR WAS DISPLAYED. WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE BRAKE WAS LESS RESPONSIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER FAILED AND FLUID HAD BEEN MISGUIDED INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER WAS ORDER FROM THE MANUFACTURER AND REPLACED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE SAME MODEL YEAR VEHICLE WAS LATER RECALLED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V332000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
EXHAUST MANIFOLD LEAK
WHEN I GOT OFF WORK GOT INTO MY VEHICLE AFTER A RAINY DAY WATER POURED OUT FROM MY CONTROL PANEL ON THE CEILING OF MY TRUCK. THIS THE SECOND TIME IT'S DONE IT. WATER COMES OUT OF THE BUTTONS USED TO CONTROL THE REAR WINDOW BUTTON ALSO FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE HANDLE USED TO HELP UPON ENTRY TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY FOR 10 HOURS AND RAIN WAS HAPPENING ALL DAY. WHEN I GOT IN MY VEHICLE THE INTERIOR WAS DRY BUT AS SOON AS I TURNED RIGHT WATER BEGAN TO POUR FROM THE CONTROL PANEL ON THE CEILING.
REAR SEAT FRAME, DRIVER'S SIDE, WHERE THE STRUT ATTACHES TO FRAME BROKE OFF. FEEL SEAT IS NOW UNSTABLE. HAVE PHOTOS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2016 FORD F-150. CONTACT STATED HE WAS IN HIS HOME WHEN HE HEARD A LOUD EXPLOSION, UPON GOING OUTSIDE HE SAW FLAMES EXITING UNDER THE HOOD OF THE TRUCK. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES AS THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE CAR PORT HIS HOME CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO ALERT HIS FAMILY AND EVERYONE EXITED THE HOME SAFELY. THE FIRE AND POLICE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FLAMES. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVEN IN ABOUT A WEEK AND THAT HE HAD PURCHASED THE VEHICLE 4 MONTHS AGO. A POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT WERE FILED. THE VEHICLE AND THE CONTACT HOME WERE BOTH DEEM A TOTALED LOSS BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE WARE OF THE ISSUES. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 31,000. THE CONTACT HAD MENTIONED HE A FAILURE WITH THE ENGINE BLOCK HEATER. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V894000 (ENGINE). *BF*JB
THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED WHEN DEFOGGER WAS TURNED ON. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION IN THE SAWGRASS EXPRESSWAY RAMP. YOU CAN SMELL SOMETHING BURNING ELECTRONICS/CABLES. IT SOUNDED LIKE A GUNSHOT AND I ALMOST LOST CONTROL IN THE HIGHWAY. THE DRIVER BEHIND ME HAD A CONCERNING FACE ALSO AND ACCELERATED OUT OF THE AREA.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at various speeds over a bumpy road surface, the front driver's seat lumbar support was significantly loosened and failed to restrain the contact as needed. Additionally, the lumbar support made abnormal cracking sounds. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the lumbar support frame was replaced, and padding was added 3 times. Additionally, the independent mechanic added a steel plate for additional support; however, the failure persisted. The contact also stated that the independent mechanic had informed him that he had previously ordered the lumbar support frame; however, the part arrived fractured, causing him to make another order. The contact stated that the lumbar support frame welding was significantly thin, which caused the failure to recur. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V475000 (Seats) however, the VIN was not included. The dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact they could not assist because the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON STEEP DECLINE ON ICY PACKED SNOW UNPACKED MOUNTAIN ROAD IN 4X4 LOW IN MANUAL 1ST GEAR WITH HILL DESCENT ASSIST ENGAGED, THE TRUCK STALLED AND WOULD NOT RESTART. (APPARENTLY ONE CANNOT RESTART THE F150 EVEN IN NEUTRAL IF THY TRUCK IS MOVING. HAVE TO COME TO COMPLETE STOP AND SHIFT BACK TO PARK TO BE ABLE TO RESTART ENGINE. VERY DANGEROUS DESIGN! IF TRUCK STALLS WHILE MOVING THE DRIVER BECOMES A SITTING PASSENGER UNTIL CAN BRING TRUCK TO STOP TO RESTART IT.) THE TRUCK THEN STARTED SLIDING OUT OF CONTROL ON THE ICY PACKED SNOW COVERED STEEP MOUNTAIN GRAVEL ROAD BECAUSE I COULD NOT USE THE STALLED ENGINE TO SLOW THE TRUCK DOWN. ENDED UP SLIDING OFF THE DROP OFF EDGE OF THE ROAD AND THE TRUCK ALMOST ROLLED OVER. VERY CLOSE TO DEADLY SITUATION. AFTER TOW TRUCK GOT THE F150 BACK ON THE ROAD I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE F150 SAFELY DOWN REST OF ICY ROAD WITHOUT HILL DESCENT ASSIST.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 2 GIRLS TO OUR NANNY'S HOME AND THE BRAKES COMPLETELY FAILED ON HER WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING. FORTUNATELY SHE DID'T GET TOO FAR. AND THANK GOODNESS WE WERE NOT TRAVELING OUR NORMAL COMMUTE WHICH IS ON A 75 MPH HIGHWAY. I LOVE MY TRUCK, BUT NOW I FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING IT. IT IS SITTING NOW UNTIL FORD FIXES IT. THE MORE INFORMATION I READ AND COLLABORATE, THE MORE DISAPPOINTED I AM IN THIS VEHICLE AND MANUFACTURER. WE ALREADY HAD ONE SAFETY INCIDENT WITH THIS TRUCK AS THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE PASSENGER SEATBELT WAS INSTALLED BACKWARDS! NOW THE BRAKES FAILING COMPLETELY WHILE DRIVING IS THE LAST STRAW. WHAT IS SHOCKING TO ME IS THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS AS FAR BACK AS 2015 HOWEVER, SOME OF THE FAULTY PARTS (MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER) TRICKLED INTO PRODUCTION. THIS RECALL HAD TO DO WITH THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER AND IF THE VEHICLE WAS EQUIPPED WITH THE FAULTY PART, IT COULD LOSE ALL OF IT'S BRAKING CAPABILITY. AGAIN, I AM THANKING MY LUCKY STARS THAT ALL OF MY GIRLS ARE OK, BUT THIS IS UNACCEP AS A VEHICLE SHOULD NOT LOSE 100% OF BRAKING WHILE IN USE. WHAT IF THIS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY WE TRAVEL EVERY WEEK? HAVE A LOOK AT THE ATTACHED PHOTOS. AN EMPTY BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR AND ZERO BRAKE FLUID--ANYWHERE.
EVERY TIME THE TEMPERATURE DIPS BELOW 20 DEGREES THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH NOR LOCK. THE DEALERSHIP HAS ATTEMPTED TO FIX IT, IN FACT CLAIMS TO HAVE FIXED IT, BUT THE ISSUE REMAINS. IN TALKING TO OTHER OWNERS OF THE SAME VEHICLE THEY ALSO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. I CONSIDER THIS TO BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, APPARENTLY FORD DOESN'T.
DRIVERS SIDE AIR BAG INFLATOR FAILED. AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON, DEALER DETERMINED AIR BAG INFLATOR WAS BAD AND NEEDED REPLACED.
THE 2016 F150 WITH 40,000 MILES ON THE ENGINE HAD EXPERIENCED A ROUGH IDLE AND ENGINE STALLS. THE PROBLEM IS IN ABLE TO BE PREDICTABLE RECREATED CAUSING THE DEALERSHIP TO NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. WHEN THE TRUCK WAS AT 12000 MILES, MANY ENGINE PARTS WERE REPLACED TO FIX THIS ISSUES HOWEVER WERE UNSUCCESSFUL. THE VEHICLE IS BECOMING DIFFICULT TO DRIVE OR HAVE REPAIRED BY THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE TYPICALLY ROUGH ISLES OR STALLS WHEN COMING TO A STOP OR SITTING STILL. THIS POSES A CONCERNS WHEN MAKING A LEFT ON A STANDARD GREEN LIGHT WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC.
CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT DISENGAGE. DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON AND WHEN I PUT FOOT ON BRAKE TO SLOW DOWN, CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT STOP AND ACCELERATOR BEGINS TO SPEED UP. PULLED OVER AND HAD TO KEEP FOOT ON BRAKE AS ACCELERATOR CONTINUED TO INCREASE WHILE STOPPED. TURNED OFF VEHICLE, DID NOT DISENGAGE. TURNED OFF ENGINE AGAIN AND STOMPED ON GAS, BREAK PETALS. FINALLY CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGED.
WHEN BACKING UP, SENSOR WILL INDICATE RED (IMMINENT IMPACT) AND MAKE LOUD BEEPING TONE WHEN NO OBJECT/OBSTACLE IS PRESENT. FALSE BEEPING MAY LEAD TO DRIVER IGNORING BACKUP SENSORS ALTOGETHER. IF BACKING UP FOR LONG DISTANCES TONE CAN BECOME DISTRACTING TO DRIVER.
DURING COLD WEATHER ENVIRONMENTS, DOORS FREEZE AND ARE UNABLE TO OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE.
VEHICLE LANE ASSIST DOES NOT WORK ANY LONGER. WHEN STATIONARY AT START UP THE ICON APPEARS BUT WHEN YOU REACH THE PROPER OPERATING SPEED FOR THE FEATURE TO ASSIST YOU DRIVING IT DOES NOT WORK AND WILL NOT TURN ON.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2016 FORD F150 NORTH ON PAYMENT, THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS AROUND 35. I HAD RECENTLY TURN MY REAR DEFROSTER ON SO IT WAS ON FOR ABOUT FIVE MINUTES PRIOR TO THE REAR GLASS SHATTERING. I WAS DRIVING AROUND 35 MPH WHEN I HEARD SOMETHING POP AND A BURNING SMELL COMING FROM THE REAR OF MY PICKUP AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS A GUN SHOT BUT IT TURNS OUT THE REAR GLASS HAD SHATTERED. THE ONLY THING THAT COULD'VE CAUSED IT IS THE REAR DEFROSTER. REPLACEMENT OF THE REAR WINDOW AND INSTALLATION WILL COST $623.22.
MY VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 18N03 FOR THE DOOR LATCH FREEZING OVERNIGHT AND BEING UNABLE TO CLOSE THE DOOR AFTER OPENING IT IN THE MORNING UNTIL IT WARMED UP. THIS WAS ORIGINALLY REPAIRED UNDER THE PROGRAM 18N03 IN MARCH 2019. IN FEBRUARY 2020 THE SAME DOOR LATCH HAD TO BE REPLACED COMPLETELY AS THE DOOR WOULD NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK UNLESS MANUALLY OPERATED FROM THE INSIDE. GIVEN THE SHORT TIME FRAME BETWEEN THE TWO REPAIRS THE ORIGINAL FREEZING AND BEING UNABLE TO LATCH MUST HAVE DAMAGED THE DOOR LATCH CAUSING IT TO FAIL LESS THAN A YEAR LATER. THE DEALER AND THE FORD CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AGENT BOTH REFUSED TO REPAIR THE LATCH THE SECOND TIME UNDER THE PROGRAM COSTING ME $583 OUT OF POCKET.
LUCKILY I WAS NOT STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BUT HAVING WORKED FOR FORD THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND HAS NOW HAPPENED TO BOTH OF MY FORD TRUCKS. FORD MAKES LUG NUTS WITH ALUMINUM CASINGS THAT AFTER 1-5 USES BECOME SWOLLEN AND MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO REMOVE LUG NUTS FROM VEHICLE ESPECIALLY IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION WHICH COULD RESULT IN SOMEONE TAKING MORE TIME THAN NEEDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD STRUGGLING TO BREAK SAID LUG NUTS LOOSE AND WILL RESULT IN SOMEONE BEING STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE.. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR 10 + YEARS. I HAVE SPENT HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS REPLACING THESE LUG NUTS. MULTIPLE OF WHICH HAD TO BE CUT OFF BY MECHANICS. PLEASE DO SOMETHING!!
EARLIER THIS YEAR, MY F-150 STARTED SHOWING SIGNS OF OVERHEATING. A DIAGNOSTIC WAS DONE AND SHOWED NOTHING. FOLLOWING THIS I HAD THE THERMOSTAT REPLACED 3 TIMES. I WAS EXPERIENCING 'LIMP MODE' WHERE I'D BE ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE TRUCK WOULD GO FROM 65 TO 20 IN SECONDS WITH ONLY A "BING" SOUND AS A WARNING. I RESEARCHED ON LINE TO LEARN WHAT THE CAUSE MIGHT BE.AND DETERMINED IT WAS PROBABLY THE ETC SENSOR/KNOCK SENSOR. MY REGULAR MECHANIC WOULD REBOOT? THE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND IT WOULD WORK FOR A WHILE AND THEN THE SAME THING WOULD HAPPEN. I FINALLY WENT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I ORIGINALLY PURCHASED THE TRUCK. DUE TO THE UNPROFESSIONALISM OF THIS DEALERSHIP, I WAS COMPELLED TO CONTACT FORD CORPORATE OFFICE. THEY INFORMED ME THAT EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT AND THERE HAVE BEEN COMPLAINTS ABOUT IT, THEY WERE NOT IN A LARGE ENOUGH NUMBER TO WARRANT A RECALL.
2016 FORD F150 V8 ENGINE. DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY, MY A/C COMPRESSOR WENT OUT. IT COMPLETELY LOCKED UP CAUSING THE ENGINE TO STALL AND BECOME DISABLED AND COULD NOT BE RESTARTED. SHORTLY AFTER, I LOST POWER STEERING AND BRAKES (AS A RESULT OF THE ENGINE LOSS) WHICH CREATED A SAFETY ISSUE ON A FREEWAY AT 10:30PM AT NIGHT AS I HAD TO GET THE VEHICLE OVER LANES OF TRAFFIC WITHOUT POWER STEERING AND EASE OF BRAKING AND BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP WITHOUT POWER ASSISTED BRAKES. THANKFULLY, WE WERE ABLE TO GET OVER, BUT I DON'T KNOW THAT EVERYONE WOULD BE SO LUCKY. I DON'T THINK AN A/C COMPRESSOR BREAKING INTERNALLY SHOULD DISABLE THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE UNLESS SOMETHING IS FUNDAMENTALLY WRONG WITH THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE COMPRESSOR. I COULD SEE ACCIDENTS OCCURRING AS A RESULT OF THE ENGINE BECOMING DISABLED.
MY 2016 FORD F150 WITH ENGINE BLOCK HEATER CAUGHT FIRE TODAY 14 FEBRUARY 2020 AT 11:12 AM. IT WAS MOVING AND CAUGHT FIRE WHEN I PARKED THE TRUCK
PROBLEM WITH 2016 F150S DOOR LATCHES WON'T LATCH SOMETIMES WHEN COLD ALLOWING DOOR TO FLY OPEN WHEN DRIVING. RECALL WAS PREVIOUSLY PERFORMED BUT APPARENTLY DIDN'T FIX PROBLEM.
WHILE ENTERING FREEWAY, I ATTEMPTED TO OPEN SUNROOF (PANORAMIC DUAL PANEL) AND HEAR A LOUD BANG FOLLOWED BY TERRIBLE GRINDING AND CRACKING NOISES. AS THE GLASS PANEL RETRACTED, A PIECE OF PLASTIC FROM THE TRACKS SHOT OUT AND STRUCK ME IN THE HEAD WHILE DRIVING. AFTER EXITING THE FREEWAY I TRIED TO CLOSE THE SUNROOF. IT WOULD CLOSE ABOUT 80%, STOP, THEN FULLY RETRACT. DUE TO RAIN, I IMMEDIATELY WENT TO DEALER TO GET THE ROOF LOOKED AT. FORD DEALER WAS ABLE TO GET THE SUNROOF TO THE VENT POSITION AND DIAGNOSED BROKEN TRACKS.
REMOTE START WAS ACTIVATED WITH MY TRUCK BACKED INTO MY DRIVEWAY UP TO MY GARAGE. AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES I CAME OUT TO MY TRUCK AND OBSERVED THE REAR WINDSHIELD TO BE SHATTERED AND GLASS ALL OVER MY CHILD'S CAR SEAT. AFTER CLOSER INSPECTION, THE AREA AROUND WHERE THE DEFROST WIRE CONNECTS TO GLASS HAD A OBVIOUS BURN PATTERN AND GLASS WAS SPIDER WEBBED OUT FROM THAT LOCATION. FORD WOULD NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR FAILED PARTS AND WOULD NOT REPAIR.
HIGHWAY DRIVING AT 55 MPH, DING AND MESSAGE "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC", "HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE". THROTTLE UNRESPONSIVE AND TRUCK IMMEDIATELY BEGINS SLOWING. MANAGED TO GET OFF ROAD WITHOUT AN ACCIDENT. ENGINE RUNNING ROUGHLY IN IDLE. TURN ENGINE OFF AND RESTART. OPERATES NORMALLY. THIS HAS OCCURRED 3 TIMES AND PUTS THE VEHICLE AND PASSENGERS IN AN EXTREMELY UNSAFE POSITION! INTERNET RESEARCH INDICATES THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH FORD THROTTLE BODIES. FORD COMPANY AND DEALERSHIP REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. TROUBLE CODE SHOWS P2112.
THE LUG NUTS ON MY TRUCK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO SWELLING OF THE METALS. SO IF YOU NEEDED TO CHANGE YOUR TIRE YOU LUG WRENCH WOULD NOT FIT AND WOULD LEAVE YOU STRANDED.
I have noticed transmission slipping when transitioning from 3rd gear to 4th. It has done this is owning the truck. There is also a noticeable lagging when accelerating.
I have been having APIM problems. The screen does several things: 1) occasionally is blacked out, 2) the reverse camera stays on while I'm travelling forward; not in reverse, 3) it's extremely slow to react to changes I want to make to radio stations, change screens, and basically all functions. As I understand it this is a known issue and is quite expensive to repair.
DOOR LATCH STUCK OPEN AFTER OPENING AND UNABLE TO GET TO RESET SO DOOR WOULD STAY CLOSED. VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE UNTIL TEMPERATUES OUTSIDE WENT UP ABOVE FREEZING. VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY AND REMOTE START WAS USED TO START/WARM VEHICLE PRIOR TO TRYING TO LEAVE FOR WORK. HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES THIS WINTER, BUT ONLY RECORDING ONE DATE BELOW DUE TO LIMITATION IN ONLINE REPORTING SYSTEM. WHEN LOOKING UP THIS PROBLEM FOUND VEHICLES HAVE BEEN ISSUED RECALL FOR REPAIR, BUT MY VEHICLE VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE.

OVER THE PAST FEW WEEKS, MY TRUCK WOULD LOOSE POWER AND GO INTO LIMP MODE RANDOMLY. I WOULD PULL OVER, TURN THE TRUCK OFF, AND BACK ON. IT WOULD BE OKAY FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS AND THEN OCCUR AGAIN. THIS WOULD HAPPEN IN TOWN AND TWICE WHILE ON THE FREEWAY. I TOOK IT IN TODAY AND HAD THE CODE READ: P2112 THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL SYSTEM - STUCK CLOSED
FAULTY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WITH LESS THAN 60,000 MILES. STARTED THE VEHICLE UP, AND ALL GAUGES AND LIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP, DIAGNOSED AS BAD CLUSTER. A RECALL AFFECTED 2017 MODELS FOR THIS SAME EXACT ISSUE, YET MY 2016 WHICH WAS PRODUCED 2 MONTHS BEFORE THE MODELS AFFECTED BY THE RECALL IS NOT COVERED. (NHTSA CAMPAIGN # 17V053000) FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS REFUSED TO HELP IN THE MATTER AND SUGGESTED I FILE A COMPLAINT HERE.
I WAS COMPLETING A 3 HOUR DRIVE OF APPROXIMATELY 120 MILES (I HAD LESS THAN 5 MILES TO GO TILL I ARRIVED AT MY DESTINATION) WHEN MY SENSORS STARTED LIGHTING UP MY MESSAGE BOARD AND DASH SYSTEM. I WAS IN THE LEFT TURN LANE TO ENTER THE ON-RAMP TO US65 SOUTH WHEN THIS HAPPENED SO I PULLED OFF TO THE SHOULDER TO INVESTIGATE. I HAD JUST PUT MY TRUCK IN PARK WHEN A CAR PULLED UP AND SAID THAT MY ENGINE WAS ON FIRE. WHEN I GOT OUT TO LOOK, THE FIRE WAS ROLLING OUT FROM UNDER THE DRIVERS SIDE WHEEL WELL. AS WELL, THERE WAS EITHER A FLUID OR MELTED PLASTIC DRIPPING DOWN TO THE ASPHALT THAT WAS ALSO ON FIRE. THE FIRE APPEARED TO PUT ITSELF OUT, FOR THE MOST PART, PRIOR TO THE FIRE COMPANY ARRIVING WITHIN THE NEXT 10 MINUTES. I HAD, WHAT I BELIEVED TO BE AT THE TIME, RECALL WORK DONE BY MIKE RAISOR FORD IN LAFAYETTE, IN, LESS THAN 1 YEAR AGO. IN THAT RECALL WORK, I THOUGHT THE BLOCK HEATER WAS DISCONNECTED SO AS TO PREVENT AN ENGINE FIRE SUCH AS THIS. NOW, I AM HAVING DOUBTS AS TO WHETHER THIS WAS COMPLETELY DISCONNECTED. NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER IS 18V894000 AND FORDS RECALL NUMBER IS 18S45.
THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE LOCKS FREEZING. I SPOKE WITH FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE THIS MORNING. I HAVE HAD JUST BY DRIVES DOOR REPLACED (THAT IS WERE THE DEALERSHIP STARTS). CUSTOMER SERVICE STATED THAT IS ONLY FIXES THE FRONT DOORS OF MY FOUR DOOR TRUCK. THE TAILGATE OF THE TRUCK ALSO LOCKS AND HAD FROZEN LOCKED. ALL THE DOORS ON MY TRUCK AND THE TAILGATE HAVE FROZEN LOCKED BEFORE. WHEN ASKED IF THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE TAILGATE. I WAS TOLD THERE IS A FIX BUT IT WILL COST YOU $208. PLUS THEY ARE WORKING ON GETTING ME A PRICE FOR MY REAR DOORS FIXED. THIS IS A KNOW PROBLEM AND RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED TO ONLY FIX PART OF THE ISSUES. I HAVE VIDEOS OF MY TRYING TO GET INTO MY TRUCK TAILGATE WHILE HITTING THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON MY KEY FOB.
ON 1/16/2020. I USED MY REMOTE STARTER TO START THE 2016 FORD F-150 3 MINUTES LATER I WENT OUT AND SMELLED ELECTRICAL WIRING. I SHUT OFF THE TRUCK TO LOOK AROUND. I THEN STARTED THE TRUCK BACK UP AS SOON AS I DID THAT THE BACK WINDOW BLEW OUT.. CALLED SAFELITE TO REPLACE IT THEM ON 1/21/20 THEY REPLACED IT. THEN WHEN STARTING THE TRUCK AT THE SAFELITE SHOP IT BLEW OUT AGAIN. CALLED FORD DEALERSHIPS AND NONE OF THEM HEARD OF IT DOING IT.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, all four doors unexpectedly opened. The vehicle was initially taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the four-door latches were faulty and needed to be repaired or replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred approximately four years later while making a right turn, and the driver's door unexpectedly opened. The contact stated that wearing the seat belt had potentially prevented him from falling out of the vehicle. The contact had to hold the door closed while driving until safely arriving at the residence. The vehicle was then taken to the same dealer, where it was determined that the driver’s door latch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

WHEN THIS HAPPENS I LOSE MY HEAT, AIRBAGS, GPS, FRONT POWER WINDOWS, POWER MIRRORS AND POWER SEATS. I'VE BEEN CHECKING ONLINE OF THIS PROBLEM AND SOUNDS QUITE COMMON. THIS WAS HAPPENING ABOUT 3 TIMES A DAY FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS AND NOW IT STAYS TO WHERE ITS CONSTANT. SEEING THIS IS ON GOING WITH THESE VEHICLES I THINK THE DEALERSHIPS SHOULD BE RELIABLE TO FIX THIS EXPENSIVE ONGOING PROBLEM. WHILE TRAVELING TO WORK ON US-19, TRAFFIC CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP. AS I PUSHED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL IT WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND WOULD NOT STOP. I VEERED LEFT INTO THE EMERGENCY LANE AND PASSED 2 VEHICLES BEFORE THE TRUCK CAME TO A STOP WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. I SEE THAT THIS HAS BEEN A RECALL FOR EARLIER FORD F150 2014 & 2015 BUT NOT THE 2016 WHICH HAS MORE COMPLAINTS THAN THE PRIOR YEARS.
MY FORD F150'S REAR WINDOW EXPLODED WHILE PULLING INTO AN INTERSECTION AND NO IMPACT. THE REAR DEFROST WAS ON.
WINDSHIELD WASHERS FREEZE UP AND BECOME INOPERABLE WHEN TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW 32F EVEN WHEN USING RAIN-X. EVEN IF THEY THAW OUT FROM ENGINE WARM UP THEY CAN REFREEZE WITHIN A FEW MILES OF DRIVING WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS BELOW 32F. THIS IS DANGEROUS WHEN THE WINDSHIELD WASHERS FAIL DURING PERIODS OF SNOW AND ROAD SLUSH IF BELOW FREEZING BECAUSE THE WINDSHIELD CAN NOT BE CLEANED.
MY FORD WAS TAKEN TO THE FOX FORD IN WAYNESBURG, PA TO FIX THE 2 RECALLS ON 12/30/2019. ONE OF THE RECALLS WERE REGARDING THE DOOR NOT OPENING OR CLOSING. THEY SAID THEY REPAIRED BOTH RECALLS. AND ONE WEEK LATER ON 01/06/2020 THE DRIVERS DOOR COULD NOT GET INTO HAD TO CRAWL OVER THE PASSENGER SIDE IN ORDER TO START THE TRUCK. THEN ONCE THE DOOR WAS PUSHED OPEN FROM THE INSIDE THE DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE. THE TRUCK SAT FOR APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES TO WARM UP AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH CLOSE UNLESS YOU USED THE LOCK. CALLED THE FOX FORD BACK AND TOLD THEM AND THEY RESCHEDULED MY TRUCK BACK IN ON 01/13/20. THEY CALLED ME AND TOLD ME THAT THEY TOOK A LOOK AT THE DOOR AGAIN AND SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT SEE ANYTHING ELSE THEY COULD DO EXCEPT PUT MORE LUBE ON/IN IT . AND THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ELSE FOR ME IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN WITH OUT CHARGING ME OR HAVING ANOTHER RECALL. THEREFORE I AM NOTIFYING YOU.
MY 20 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THROUGH A PARKING LOT AND WITHOUT ANY PRIOR PROBLEMS OR INDICATION OF A BRAKE ISSUE THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE THE FLOOR BOARD AND THE TRUCK BARELY CAME TO A STOP BEFORE HITTING OTHER VEHICLES IN THE PARKING LOT, AT THIS TIME A WARNING CHIME AND WARNING MESSAGE DISPLAYING LOW BRAKE FLUID APPEARED ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. SHE HAPPENED TO BE IN THE FORD DEALERSHIP PARKING LOT PICKING THE TRUCK UP FROM MULTIPLE RECALLS BEING PREFORM (NON BRAKE RELATED). SHE PULLED BACK IN THE SERVICE LANE AND ASKED FOR ASSISTANCE, THE SERVICE WRITER WENT AND GOT THE TECHNICIAN TO INSPECTED IT IN THE SERVICE LANE, HE CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR AND IT WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY CAUSING THE TRUCK TO LOOSE ALL BRAKES. THEY ENDED UP KEEPING THE VEHICLE OVER NIGHT AND INSPECTED IT THE NEXT DAY.. THE TECHNICIAN ADDED MORE BRAKE FLUID TO THE BRAKE RESERVOIR AND TESTED THE TRUCKS BRAKES AND THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER IMMEDIATELY LOST THE BRAKE FLUID INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE AS THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER LEAKING FLUID INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. NOW BOTH THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $1,031. FROM WHAT I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS IS A WIDELY KNOW PROBLEM WITH 2013 TO 2018 FORD F150S EQUIPPED WITH THE 3.5 LITER ENGINE LIKE WE HAVE. MY DAUGHTER WAS EXTREMELY FORTUNATE SHE WAS DRIVING AT SLOW SPEEDS THROUGH A PARKING LOT, IF THIS WOULD OF HAPPENED TRAVELING A HIGHER RATE OF SPEED IT COULD OF ENDED UP CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH! THIS MATTER NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IN A SWIFT WAY TO PREVENT ANYMORE DRIVERS BEING AT RISK, NOT ONLY TO THE OCCUPANTS OF THE DEFECTIVE VEHICLE BUT THOSE THAT COULD BE HIT BY THE OUT OF CONTROL FORD F-150!
